I don't know about you guys but there are a handful of targets I dread on the Field Round. For me the worst two are the eighty yard walk up and the sixty yard target. As such, yesterday I spent a lot of time at sixty yards. By the time I was done I felt pretty confident. Here's a fun Throwback to one of my first Field shoots, circa 2015. It was the State Field hosted by my local club. I was seventeen, still shooting a recurve, and still fairly new to competitive archery. I had a great group to shoot with and it was a fun weekend. Last weekend I shot the State Target. It alternates between being an International Round or a 900 Round. This year it was an International Round. I've never shot it before and I had a great group for the entirety of the event. I set a new State record for Female Freestyle. Now it's time to gear up for the State Field/ Sectional Field. What do you carry with you onto the range? I've done this type of post a couple times in the past but since what I carry with me changes periodically here we go again in no particular order: Three releases, one shooter towel, an array of allen wrenches, a lense cloth, lense cleaner, an arrow puller, arrow lube, several finger slings, d-loop material, lense kit for my peep, a back up blade or two, a range finder, random score cards, very sentimental key chains, x-10's for field, and finally my favorite: a Rose from Ikea. I haven't posted for a while so here's a long post and a photo dump. Right now I'm finishing finals for the semester and have been pretty focused on school. I'm wrapping up my junior year and had a pretty heavy course load so Instagram was put on the back burner. Last weekend we shot our club safari. My teammate and I won the team event and I got 9th out of 27ish shooters in men's freestyle division. Not a great performance but we found some issues with my string which was causing UGLY arrow flight. Right now we are getting ready for the State Target later this month and then the Field next month. Now that my semester is over I'm going to work on producing more content online.
