Blood Ties Chapter 23
Series Masterlist
Warnings: Typical TWD violence and gore; a tad bit of angst; smidge of illness; all the pregnancy woes in the world; some suggestive dialogue A/N: There's some serious fluff in this. I tried so hard to keep Daryl in character while having him offer all he could to a person doing something precious for him. I hope I succeeded. The explanation of midnight blue is a little bit of self indulgence. It's my own favorite color and the reason why. I know I skipped the nursing home scene but I took the liberty of adding into the timeline somewhere as a mention.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The events of the day before had ended in the most amusing way, with you nearly inviting Carol in before getting dressed.
“She knows what tits and a vagina look like, Daryl.”
“She don’t know what my dick looks like, Y/N!”
“Touche, sir.”
All ended well and Carol saw no genitalia that fine day.
You had officially worn one another out. After the Tylenol and Carol’s snickers and knowing smiles, you and Daryl fell onto the pillows and slept until the next morning. The fever remained, albeit burning less and less hot each time the old man would look him over. His lungs were sounding better. Hershel removed the IV when the archer proved he could keep up with hydrating and promised to take it easy. Of course, he would. He had you as his warden.
The next evening, after a bowl of hearty stew with the venison you had brought back,—two bowls for Daryl—you laid in bed. He wasn’t complaining, for once, and actually seemed to be close to falling asleep. It had been a relief to watch him eat well, even if he did try to share the second bowl. You were feeling a little nauseated, sharing that knowledge honestly when you turned down his offering. Your condition had definitely improved, the severity of the occurrences much less concerning. Things were actually okay.
“Daryl?” You licked your suddenly dry lips but continued drawing patterns on his bare chest from your spot against his side with his arm wrapped around you. He hummed, his usual reply, eyes remaining closed while his thumb swept back and forth over your ribs. When you didn’t answer right away, he pulled you a little closer. It was unclear if it was intentional or not.
“What?” He cleared his throat, his voice still gravelly.
“Can we—I’d like to know more about you.” Your timid request must have snagged his attention because he was shifting your bodies to lie face to face, one hand below his cheek and the other rubbing small circles just over where the baby had finally stopped tap dancing. He was giving you that look, the squinted eyes that scrutinized someone for any indication of dishonesty or hidden agenda. He should know you better than that by now, but you remained quiet.
“Whaddaya wanna know?” He finally queried, his hand going still but remaining where it was.
“Anything. Everything.” You shrugged your available shoulder. “If we’re gonna do this—be an us—then we need to know one another, don’t you think?” He started tapping a finger against your abdomen.
“S’your favorite color?”
You huffed a laugh through your nose, scrunching it with a smile. “Midnight blue. What’s yours?” He pulled a face, curiosity shining through.
“Why midnight?” He asked with a sniff, shuffling around a bit on the pillow.
“Because even though I know it isn’t, I like to think that’s the color of the night sky. Not black, but dark blue and full stars. Black is nothing, it’s lonely, but to think of it as blue. It’s a little more comforting.” The archer gave you a thoughtful look, the corner of his mouth ticking upward so minutely that anyone else would have missed it. Not you. “Now, what’s yours?”
He mimicked your earlier shrug. “Dunno. Don’t really got one, I guess.” Your silence beckoned him to explain. After moving his hand from below his cheek to chew on the side of his thumb, he eventually elaborated. “Grew up learnin’ to ‘preciate all’a ‘em. House was—it was always dark, ‘specially after mama died. When my old man—I spent a lot’a time outside. Noticed things. Blue sky’d turn a bit purple before it’d snow, even if it was just a lil’. Grass—it’d be green but have those brown pieces where I’d walk all’a the time. Creek looked muddy unless ya stood in it. Then ya’d see the bottom an’ how the water’d catch the light. Sometimes it’d be blue, sometimes kinda green. Just depended on the day.” His gaze had dropped away from you at some point, focused on the miniscule area of bed sheets between your bodies.
You were glad for it because your eyes had started to fill and shine. You were granted the opportunity to blink back the tears before he looked up. Daryl was so much more than anyone had given him credit for, than anyone had been willing to learn. Carol had told you a story about an exchange with Andrea, when she had taken a jab at what she thought was his limited vocabulary.
“Get a dictionary. Look it up. Observant.”
“D’ya like dogs or cats?” He asked so suddenly that you nearly flinched, realizing that you had just been staring at some point past his head for an undetermined amount of time. There was no way he hadn’t noticed.
“I like both, but I’m a dog person.” You frowned. Having a dog would probably be something your child would never get to experience. “You?”
“Dogs. Cats ain’t trustworthy.” It was such an amusing thing to say with such a straight face. You couldn’t help but laugh.
“Wait, I need to hear this.” You caught him staring at your lips, maybe watching you laugh or maybe he wanted to kiss you. Both? You pretended not to notice.
“Dogs’re smart but cats’re calculated. Make ya think they’re all innocent when they ain’t. Always up to somethin’.”
“What I’m hearing is that you’re afraid of cats.” You smirked, absently reaching to run your fingers through his hair. Daryl made a disgruntled sound and shook his head to stave off your attempts.
“Ain’t afraid’a ‘em. Just don’t trust ‘em.”
“Right.” You nodded, face falling into feigned seriousness before it became real, your next question burning inside your chest, just below the fear you’d need to surpass to ask. He was likely to shut down the session, maybe even close off completely. You could always hope he’d begun to trust you enough to open up, even if only a little, but the prospect suddenly seemed so far away. “Daryl.”
“Ask.” He was looking right into your eyes with a hint of determination you’d seen before when the circumstances were different, dire even. Was that how he saw this? A dire situation that could result in you being gone in some way?
“Who—what happened?” You let a single fingertip press gently against the deepest scar on his chest, your eyes lingering on it for but a moment before you contradicted his intensity with tenderness. Not pity, but a gentle curiosity. A request to allow you to understand.
“My dad—he was never a good man.” He swallowed hard. “Got worse after mama died. She drank. Fell asleep with a smoke, burned up in our house.” His fingers were plucking at the small space between you, a fine tremor in his hand. He pulled it out of your reach when you reached for it. “Didn’t know what to do with us, I guess. Me an’ Merle—my brother.” The brother that Rick had left behind in Atlanta, the brother who was likely dead. Yet another relative your baby would never know. “Merle tried to—he’d take the beatin’ when he could, did his best. Booked it outta there when he couldn't take it no more. Joined the army.” His eyes were wet, but he sniffed and cleared his throat. “Wasn't nothin’ standin’ between me an’ the old man then—between me an’ the belt. The cigarettes.” He fell silent, clearly finished with talking about his parents.
“Tell me about Merle?” You ventured, shot down with a shake of his head against the pillow.
“Ain’t your turn.” He sniffed again. “Your mama—tell me ‘bout your mama.” It wasn’t exactly a question, more of a soft demand; an it’s only fair. You didn’t mind. You’d accepted her abandonment long ago. You had been content with the amazing father with whom you were gifted.
“She booked it. We didn’t have a lot of money, and she never really wanted me in the first place. Tucked tail and ran the first chance she got.” You shrugged, unbothered beyond the twinge of guilt you felt for being so okay with the hand you had been dealt while Daryl struggled to even think about his past. “I didn’t even miss her. I mean, it sucked at first. I always felt bad, watching daddy struggle. So, I learned to help and that was that.”
He was so obviously jealous, yet another emotion that he didn't know how to process. You saw the anger flare before he doused it, returning to a solemn state of silence. He was awaiting your question, wherein you found a dilemma. Did you push through the conversation about his family? Or did you switch to something else, give him a break?
“Thank you for trusting me.” When you reached for him then, he didn’t pull away. His mask cracked and a few pieces fell away, but he held the rest steady. “That’s enough for now, okay? If you have more questions, I’ll answer them. Gladly. But you’ve shared enough, okay?” When he studied you, you didn’t let him proceed with his usual scrutiny. “It’s fine, Daryl. We can talk more when—if—you ever want to again. You don’t need to tell me anything else.”
He accepted the out with a long exhale and a nod, his gaze falling away. You embraced the silence and its discomfort, just touching him while he was in a place to allow it. You stroked his cheek, the stubble thicker than usual with his confinement to the bed. You smoothed his hair, scratched gently over his scalp. Finally, you scooted closer and pulled him toward you to meet in the middle. Tangling your legs around his, you guided his head to rest under your chin. He let you without complaint or denial, a testament to how he had silently endured when he needed comforting.
The two of you laid there, his breaths evening out to the point where you thought he had fallen asleep. Then, breaking the silence, he cleared his throat. “Why me?” You pulled back just enough to angle your head and look at him.
“Why you what?”
“Why ya settlin’ with me? We can raise a kid together without you givin’ up a chance with someone better.” He took a deep breath, keeping his head down. “I won’t hold ya to it if ya change your mind later—if someone shows—”
“There’s no one better.” You nearly snapped at him, your tone harsher than you’d ever meant for it to be. He flinched and you instantly hated yourself for it. You’d seen someone’s quick movements earn that reaction before, but words hardly affected Daryl physically, not like that. “Daryl.” You silently pleaded with him to look at you, but were left disappointed. “There’s no one better.” You repeated, so softly that it was almost a whisper, your breath disturbing his hair. “I want to raise this baby with you. I want to be with you. I love you. That’s not gonna change.”
He simply hummed, the sound reverberating against your throat. You wanted to throttle him, but none of his self-deprecation was his fault. You hated people you didn’t even know for it. “Don’t deserve all this.” Your brow furrowed deeply at his words. “Feel like m’gettin’ somethin’ meant for someone else. Like m’takin’—” The words died on the tip of his tongue. What could you even say to that? You could tell him he deserved the world—the fucking universe—but he’d never believe it. You’d just have to show him. It would take time and patience that would likely be tested over and over, but he was worth it.
“You’ll see.” You settled back against him, let silence fall between you again. After a while, he actually did fall asleep, the tension you had noticed in him finally melting away into a restful state he so desperately needed in order to continue getting well. A kiss was pressed into his hair. You never fell asleep yourself, simply lying there with him. Your heart ached yet it was full. With your fingers traveling up and down his back in gentle motions you hoped were comforting even within his dreams, you told him again. “You’ll see.”
Tumblr media
Daryl was coughing strenuously by the time you reached the truck, his hand pressed hard against his chest. The cold air, the rush of grabbing up all the bags, the running from the herd—it was taking its toll on his still healing body.
“Keys.” You demanded. “I’m driving.”  You could see it on his face that he was going to argue, but he doubled over in another fit of coughs and deep, wheezing gasps. Digging in his pocket through the ordeal, he tossed you the keyring. The bags you two were responsible for were tossed into the back next to the bike. It took the archer two attempts to pull himself onto the bench seat, which required the effort of both your bodies to move back in order to accommodate your 30 week bump. Just as your door closed, a discolored hand slapped against the window, startling you into a shout.
The van was already moving when you pressed the gas to peel out behind it, mowing down at least three walkers. Dark blood splattered onto the windshield, smearing but mostly washing away when you used the partially frozen fluid and wipers. Daryl’s forehead was against the dashboard as he fought to catch his breath in the chilled air. You were fumbling for the temperature controls when he smacked your hand away.
“Just—just drive. I got it.” He rasped, the warming air filling the cab a moment later. His back thudded against the seat, shaking it slightly, his head falling back against the headrest with his eyes closed. He was finally sucking in gulps of air into irritated, partially healed lungs. When you reached a point that was safe enough to pull off, you would make sure the group remembered his state of health and didn’t travel for too long before finding anything suitable and safe enough for a stay of at least a few days. “Quit your worryin’, woman. M’good.”
“Just don’t, Daryl.” You argued quietly, desperate to keep the peace between the pair of you that you’d managed to create. “Let me worry. If you don’t fight me on it, I’ll be less likely to do something stupid.” You glanced over, finding his head rolled toward you, his jaw set but he relented with a jerk of his head.
“Fine. Just have ‘em find whatever. S’long as it keeps your ass right here beside me.”
You smiled and silently celebrated your victory, even as he noticed and grumbled beside you. When you placed your hand, palm up, on the seat between you, only a heartbeat passed before you felt him squeezing your fingers.
Tumblr media
Roughly eight weeks left, though Hershel said you could safely deliver if you made it at least four more weeks. You were actually becoming slightly miserable. The nausea would come and go, though you actually vomited less and less. Your ankles were missing completely under the puffy skin. Your belly felt so heavy that even just standing was becoming a chore. Lori was sympathetic, constantly giving you advice. Not only you but Daryl as well. You had seen her whispering to him, watched the way he would go completely still, not looking at her but listening intently. Rick could give him all the advice in the world but Lori’s input was crucial. She knew exactly what you needed.
The archer argued with you less and less, though you could see the restraint it took for him to bite his tongue, sometimes literally. He let you hunt with him because you were restless. Lori had said it was because of the urge to start nesting, which you had found amusing, but Daryl already knew about it because of the damn books he continued to snatch up on runs. Why it frustrated you that he was willing to go that extra mile was beyond your comprehension. Maybe because he knew more about what was going on with your body than you did? You should have been grateful, but all you wanted to do was kick him in the shins.
“Can ya just—nevermind.” He grunted from behind you while the two of you tracked some turkeys. You knew they’d be in the trees for the cold weather so you kept your eyes upward, irritating the hunter when you would nearly trip or run into something. Still, he kept his cool, which was admirable for your hot-headed partner. Daryl didn’t like the term boyfriend, you’d discovered during a brief conversation where you’d found your tongue looser than normal and spilling out questions you’d otherwise never ask. The two of you had settled on being partners, though you didn’t feel it was enough to describe your relationship. He had simply shrugged.
You couldn’t hunt with a gun. He’d all but forbade it. Too loud, would draw walkers. So he found you a bow. Not a crossbow but a traditional one. It didn’t take much practice. You only needed to become familiar with the tension of the string, how far to pull for the trajectory and speed needed. Aiming came naturally.
“Shut up, Daryl. I’m fine.” You snapped, instantly muttering an apology. It was but wasn’t his fault you felt so crappy. It took two to make the baby whose little foot or hand or whatever was always pressing into your ribs. You were just as responsible and tried to remember that even when it was you and not him that felt like absolute shit most of the time. As if the world was hellbent on fucking with you, the toe of your boot found its way beneath an exposed root and you nearly faceplanted. If not for Daryl’s constant observance, you surely would have.
He snagged your bicep, dropping his crossbow to reach across your chest and grip your other shoulder. All you needed was a dislocated shoulder when you were already so beyond miserable. He made sure you stayed on your feet, nearly stumbling himself, but saying nothing when you found his irritated but concerned gaze. The weight of it instantly brought on the sniffling you knew was about to lead to a breakdown.
Over the course of only three weeks, the archer had memorized the signs and adapted, learning how to soothe you even at the expense of his own comfort. He immediately pulled you into his arms as close as he could with your ever-growing belly between you, shushing you and rubbing your back.
“S’alright. I won’t letcha fall.”
Noble as his intentions were, that only seemed to stir up even more guilt. “I don’t know why I can’t just listen when you tell me I should stay behind! Why do you let me just do whatever I want even when you know it’s the wrong choice?!” You rubbed your wet face against his button up, leaving a dark spot and not for the first time.
“Cause you’re hard-headed an’ feelin’ like crap. Only make ya feel worse for me to argue with ya.”
And just like that, the switch flipped. “I’m not hard-headed, Daryl! I’m fucking capable and everyone wants to treat me like I’m gonna break!” You pushed him away roughly and stomped forward, sniffling harder than necessary. You heard a sigh from behind you, the sound of him picking up his crossbow and before following at a distance.
When you shot down the turkey, even beyond the pride you felt carrying it back, something told you that he saw it first but didn’t even raise his weapon.
Tumblr media
Carol had heated some water for you so you could wipe down, feeling like your skin was crawling after being in the woods all day. It was a foreign feeling for the leaves and cool, fresh air to feel like it stuck to your flesh and needed to be scrubbed away. You were a mess. Your body hurt and you constantly needed to pee. You were irritable. You’d want Daryl to fuck you one minute and then shove him away the moment he touched the slick apex of your thighs. You were torturing the poor man who didn’t have a clue how to provide the type of comfort you needed when he couldn’t even process how to overcome his own lack of it growing up.
You didn’t hear him enter the room as you bowed over the small sink in the dusty bathroom, your skin still damp beneath your long sleeved shirt and flannel sleep pants. You had washed your hair to the best of your ability, the wet strands forming a curtain around your face that blocked your view of the door. You didn’t startle when you felt the heat of his body behind you. It was familiar at that point in a way you couldn’t explain.
“I’m so sorry, Daryl.” You whispered, the syllables of his name coming out as a soft whimper. His hands settled on your hips, fingers flexing nervously.
“S’okay.” He stepped closer and you fully expected to feel his erection press against your ass, but that wasn’t the case. There was only the firm safety of his body, your human security blanket. “Wanna—can I try somethin’?” His voice shook beside your ear but his hands remained steady, digits still squeezing and releasing. Not trusting your voice, you nodded, his exhale warm against your neck.
You weren’t entirely sure what you were expecting but it certainly wasn’t his warm palms sliding beneath your belly and lifting with more gentleness than you were aware a human being could possess. The absence of the weight pulling down was an instant relief, your muscles turning to jello. You leaned back against him and he kept you upright, silently offering you comfort and succor that your body didn’t even know it needed.
“Fuck.” You breathed, eyes fluttering closed and head laying back against his shoulder. The tears came when his lips pressed against your temple, wordlessly expressing his gratitude for what you were enduring. “Thank you.” Your own appreciation trembled over your lips, whether toward the man at your back or a god you weren’t sure you believed in for putting him there.

I just watched the ep 6 of Spy x Family and it really got me thinking abt FSN x SxF crossover which, while I know weird and out of nowhere, I've been too invested to let it go
Agent Hawkeye / Archer Forger = Emiya
Poison Goddess / Serphira Forger = Medusa
I feel they both don't require much elaboration, their role don't change from the original series.
Rin & Sakura Forger
Rin is a telepathic whilst Sakura's esper ability is unknown. Rin tricks Emiya into adopting her by appearing smart and cooperative but then refuses to be separated from Sakura, demanding Emiya to adopt Sakura as well. Medusa appeared at the time, looking for a child to adopt to help her putting up a facade of a normal citizen (not sure on this one) and were interested in Sakura (maybe bc of the matching hair color idk) Rin, with her telepathic ability, lines things up so that Emiya and Medusa end up agreeing to be fake spouse of each other.
Gilbert Desmond = Gil
CEO of some highly influential company, designated as Emiya's mission target. At some point he sees through the Forger's fake family facade and demands so that they drop the act. I gotta be honest, I just really want to make a bait-and-switch scene where he dramatically calls Emiya "Mr. Forger" (get it, forger=faker 🤣) and reveals that he knows their secret, causing Emiya to think that his identity as a spy has been revealed, only for Gil to demand they separate and propose a high ranking position to Emiya bc he 'interests' him (this is a hidden gilmiya agenda :^)) which would instantly eliminate the process of getting close to the CEO via Eden College and ceases the need for the fake family to keep going. Medusa opposes this development, motivated by her desire to protect Rin and esp Sakura's family, having developed genuine affection to them, but maybe also bc she becomes romantically interested in Emiya (am I turning this into love triangle? yes, yes I am :^))
Gillian Desmond = Kid Gil
friendly, generous and approachable child but is actually very pragmatic and ambitious, constantly calculating the value of the friendships with other kids by their political connection. Rin instantly headbutts with him bc she dislikes his pragmatic nature but it only makes Rin stand out to him.
so far this is what I've been thinking, I wonder if I can fit Shirou and Saber in there somewhere..
I want to draw character design sheet for them as well

Thank you @mika--82 for the question! I’m sorry it took so long but since I really enjoyed plotting out my Cangse Sanren lives au, and I think a lot about the women in The Untamed who didn't get to see their children grow up, strap in for round two of TB Revives the Mothers of the Untamed. This week's episode: Save Mama Lan by killing Lan Qiren \^.^/
(Many thanks to @drwcn for letting me borrow her hc names for Mama Lan (Qui Baiti) and Papa Lan (Lan Cenrong). You can read more about them on her blog here and here.)
(Warning for an unsuccessful suicide attempt)
QBT has been isolated in the Jingshi for a decade. She only sees her sons once a month, she isn’t allowed her sword, and her spiritual power is kept sealed
But LWJ inherited his stubbornness from his mum and she's determined to escape, one way or another
LQR is walking by the Jingshi when he feels a massive surge of energy and breaks his first ever Discipline (no running in Cloud Recesses)
He wrenches the Jingshi door open and sees an array that wouldn't look out of place two decades in the future in an alternate universe in a dingy shed behind Mo Manor
LQR breaks his second Discipline in as many minutes (do not make excessive noise) when he screams for his brother before he grabs QBT and drags her out of the array
LQR didn't have time to think, let alone study what the effects of that might be, all he knew was that it was killing her, and that her death would kill the brother he loves more than anything else
The backlash strikes him and he keels over
QBT gathers him up, sobbing and asking why he did it, she wanted to die, why did you do it Lan-er-gongzi? what were you thinking? Your brother loves you
LQR meets his brother’s eyes as he appears over her shoulder, the terrified disciples flanking him a white blur
He smiles and says I know
Curtains on LQR
(alternatively, we can just kill JGS again because ngl that was real satisfying the first time around)
Now the Elders are in a pickle because this may have been an accident but QBT has now been responsible for the deaths of an Elder and Second Young Master Lan
It's decided that the only option is exile
QBT is forbidden from setting foot in Cloud Recesses and the territories of Gusu Lan for ten year and forbidden from speaking to any Lan disciple during that time
She bows, accepts back the plain sword she had yielded when she came through the gates to be married, and is gone before the dawn. LCR watches her leave and then goes to wake their sons
Now, QBT was a wandering cultivator long before she was Lan-furen and actually really enjoys returning to life on the road
I wandered once! I can do it again!
Five years later she meets XXC battling a ferocious demon snake and together they defeat it
QBT definitely doesn’t feel her heart beat a little faster at the youthful face, white robes, and elegant jade-and-silver sword
She answers XXC's graceful bow with one of her own and the two spend a week clearing out the fierce nests of demons on the mountain
The next time their wandering brings them together she is introduced to my good friend Song Lan and hides her smile in her sleeve
Meanwhile in Cloud Recesses without LQR to pick up the slack LCR is forced to step out of seclusion and actually run his sect and parent his children
He does a very good job
QBT has to fight back proud tears every time she hears Twin Jades of Lan spoken of with awe
Ten years to the day of her exile QBT is grinning as she climbs the long flights of stairs towards the gates of Cloud Recesses
Part of that might be the entertaining company she walks with
A young man clutching two bottles of Emperor's Smile and talking so fast she’s only half listening while she tries to figure out if he’s actually taken a breath since introducing himself
Talking at breakneck speed of the young master who had been so strict with him at the gates, aiya Auntie! He was so cold! you should have seen his stony face
QBT only grins harder as WWX climbs the wall, is challenged, and blades flash over tiles (it might bring back fond memories of her own youth)
She slips over the wall while they are distracted and once WWX is silenced she reaches out her hand
You handle your sword beautifully, may I?
LWJ can't even say why - it's too dark to see her face and the voice is roughened after 10 years on the road - but he hands Bichen over without a second thought
She sighs as she runs a finger over the blade and the steel glows, lighting up her face (solely because I think glowy Bichen is very sexy and we should have had more of it in the drama honestly)
Bichen suits you better than it ever suited me, ZhanZhan
LWJ is emoting all over the place (so embarrassing)
(luckily his back is to WWX because if baby disaster bi WWX saw that smile he would've died on the spot)
WWX of course is still a troublemaking rule breaker and LWJ is still charged with overseeing his punishment
QBT and LXC are united in their LWJ should make friends agenda and LXC inherited his sense of humour and delight for teasing LWJ from QBT
Between the two of them LWJ soon has more friends than he knows what to do with
QBT and LXC co-captain the good ship Wangxian
Of course plot stuff still happens including accidental-marriage-before-a-Quest-Ghost
XXC and SL meet them in Yueyang and when LWJ introduces himself they're thrilled because hey we know your mum! she’s real cool!
They don't trust the clans and they might've heard of NMJ but they know Qui-jiejie and they trust her and so they decide XY will go to Cloud Recesses for judgement
N-wow the twin jades are really deserving of their reputations-HS insists on a Qinghe representative going too
oh me? no no Wei-xiong this has been quite enough adventure for me. Meng Yao you'll go won't you? Dage trusts you and Lan-gongzi admired your *delicate cough* capability *innocent smile*
my.blush.com/embarrassed/yearning agrees
QBT is delighted to see XXC and SL again and happily introduces them to her elder son
SL and LXC almost immediately get into a heated debate over ahistorical fantasy chinese philosophy and/or politics and are instantly bonded
QBT may or may not have instigated said debate with a well-timed quote from a well-known (re: divisive) text
Basically QBT shares my get LXC more friends agenda
SL is, again, the first person (apart from LXC and his parents) to laugh at LWJ's jokes
WWX still refuses to believe this actually happened (the joke and SL laughing) (XXC swears it’s true)
XY is locked in the back hills and eventually a) dies trying to use his hidden piece of the yin iron to break the seals OR b) is rehabilitated by the power of bunnies and become an outer disciple (reader's choice!)
XXC and SL accompany WWX and JC part of the way to Lotus Pier
Cloud Recesses is attacked, QBT and LCR send LXC and MY away with the sacred texts, MY promising he knows somewhere safe to hide
LWJ refuses to leave his parents. The losses are not as bad as in canon, the Wen are beaten back, but LCR and LWJ are both injured
No Good Very Bad Summer Camp with World's Worst Head Counselor WC
No Good Very Bad Turtle Cave of Love
WWX wakes post-rescue with LWJ still there
(Because his parents are holding Cloud Recesses and he knows LXC is safe so he doesn't need to rush off)
JZX, JC, LWJ, and WWX spend a day planning before they split up
(this is hilarious and JC says "fuck" not less than 219 times)
(WWX only almost punches JZX and it only happens twice honestly people should be grateful! he was so restrained!!)
They all return home, LWJ promising to bring reinforcements from Cloud Recesses to Lotus Pier (because it's the most obvious next target. no other reason. just. strategically it makes sense)
WQ sends WN to Lotus Pier to warn WWX when WZL's forces are on their way
When the Wen attack, they're met with a prepared force of 1) YZY and the Jiang Disciples 2) QBT, LWJ, and a contingent of Lan Disciples AND 3) JC and WWX and a gaggle of archers (seriously why tf show the Jiang being so good and then only give us two archery fight scene moments and it’s heart breaking sixth young master jiang dying and some rando ouyang disciple shooting WWX?)
Things get a little hairy but between YZY and QBT they defeat WZL and the rest of the Wen quickly surrender
JFM and JYL arrive just as the battle is ending, escorted by Madam Jin, JZX, LQY, and all the Jin Disciples who were at Cloud Recesses
(WWX: MianMian you came you must have been so worried about me! LQY, ignoring him: Lan-er-gongzi are you okay? WWX: ah Lan Zhan you MianMian really likes you! that’s lucky! LWJ, screaming internally: mn)
(JGS was furious when JZX announced he was joining the campaign but what could he possibly say in front of his battle ready wife without looking like the utter coward of a wet biscuit he is)
Once again WWX is left with a screaming sword, too much curiosity, and too much time on his hands (due to his adopted family being not-dead)
But worse he has now also access to a woman who created an array powerful enough to kill even with her spiritual power sealed
Poor WRH doesn't stand a chance, even without MY spying for the Sunshot Campaign
After the battle QBT&LCR and YZY&JFM shut JGS's bullshit power grab down real quick and JGS sulks like the baby he is (probably in a brothel) while Madam Jin and JZX take over Lanling Jin
JZX hears about MY and the way he helped LXC and NMJ sends a letter of support and JZX is already quite jealous of all these sibling bonds and welcomes Ziyao with open arms
(All of which goes slightly to waste when JZY marries out to the Lan clan slightly less than a year later but hey, at least it's a good alliance.)
WQ takes over the Wen Clan but tears down Nightless City and relocates the capital to Dafan
(WQ: have you been to Nightless City? It’s built on an active volcano. Do you know how bad sulfur ash is for open wounds? Do you know what medical herbs grow in lava slurry? None is the answer. My family are all fucking morons)
(WQ: Not you a-Ning you’re a delight and we’re thrilled you’re here)
Rumour has it a certain immortal was so impressed with the stories of the medical techniques of Dafan Wen that she paid WQ a visit
(Disciples are so reckless after all! One never knows when one might need to be capable of transplanting vital organs!)
Each year WWX and LWJ spend 3 months at Gusu, 3 months at Lotus Pier, and 6 months wandering with XXC and SL
They get "fake married" no less than four times in three years (for the investigation xiongzhang! absolutely no other reason shishu! no other reason at all!) before LXC, MY, XXC, and SL get fed up and barricade them in their room until they talk to each other dammit
(LXC is very grateful MY has gotten so handy with the silencing talismans because the 'conversation' gets uncomfortably loud real quick)
Side note to say Clarity works very well to avert a qi deviation when it's not being actively corrupted, thanks very much, and NMJ lives many, many, many years which would be entirely happy if only NHS would pick up his saber once in a while
He would tell NHS this if he could ever find him
Happy ending!³

Destined Imaginings (Reader X Prototype Gilgamesh)
You had to borrow Prototype Gilgamesh’s laptop for the meeting today.
While there were computers available in the conference room, you didn’t really like having the entire room know when you were moving the mouse on the screen or starting to get side tracked. It led to questions or reiteration about what the plans were for Chaldea, moving forward.
Of course, you’d never borrowed Gil’s laptop before.
Booting it up to the picture of some lion cubs napping, you’d really not paid much thought to the fact that his computer was already unlocked and a few screens were open.
You opened the browser and logged into the server.
You pulled up the meeting agenda and glanced to the bottom of the screen only to pause.
A handful of little lines next to the writing document program showed that Prototype had left some writings open.
Odd, he didn’t seem like much of the writer. He was eloquent enough, if not just a bit too pretty about speaking, but you’d never really seen him sit down and truly write before. Maybe someone else had borrowed his laptop?
But no.
Staring at the contents on the page you pulled up, you no longer had any focus on the meeting.
Imagine you and your destined managing to both get the day off…
Destined?
Prototype Gilgamesh was a rather odd servant. You’d heard Arthur’s warnings about those whom the man thought he was going to romance. Arthur’s warnings were more like heavily implied pleas to get you to burn the servant.
Burn him before he starts being possessive and overly romantic to the point it was sickening.
You’d never really heard him go that far though.
The cute gestures here and there, with him holding open doors for you or offering to let you rest your head on his lap was just something nice.
You read on though, curious about this other side of him.
You manage to hide away their device for work and they decide, after looking for several minutes, to give up and tell the others that they’re taking the day off.
You find them saying, “I’d rather spend the day with you.”
Had Prototype hidden your laptop!?
A throat clearing sound brought your eyes up from the screen, a sheepish smile escaping you as you leaned back from the screen and told the room to continue.
Still, now the thought’s on your mind.
You stay behind after the meeting.
You scroll through the various pages of imaginings.
Some are more detailed than others. All of them seem to hint towards events over the last few weeks.
Imagine the lights go out in your room and your destined becomes scared and decides to hold onto you for strength.
Imagine you and your destined become trapped in an elevator with no one to save you.
You remember both unfortunate events.
You’d pulled a flashlight out from your nightstand for the first.
You’d just used your phone to call for someone to open the doors in the other situation.
Both times, Prototype had been quiet afterwards, watching you as you navigated the two of you through the situations.
To think he could have orchestrated-
“Master?”
You glance over to the doorway, seeing Prototype standing there and frowning. His golden armor was switched for his casual clothes, his hands in his pocket.
“What are you doin’? The meeting ended an hour ago.”
You shut the laptop immediately, standing up.
“Right. Right… I guess I was trying to review everything that was said.”
You don’t remember a single thing that was said at the meeting this morning.
All you see is the cunning smile on the archer’s lips as he offers you his hand.
“Let’s walk back to my room together then. I had the kitchens make you something to eat.”

hit and run - chapter 10
summary: Riza Hawkeye is a thief who is trying to get by in Victorian Central. Hard times fell on her family, tuberculosis claiming her mother and then her father when she was a teenager. Now, femme fatale Riza steals to put food on the table for herself, her canine companion - an abandoned puppy who just won’t leave her alone - and two brothers with circumstances similar to her own. However, dipping her hands into the pockets of the rich and famous is always a dangerous game.

title: “hit and run” by lolo
read on ao3 and ffnet
“Why would she leave?!” Rebecca raged as she paced in what used to be Riza’s bedroom. After she’d managed to give Roy the slip in the maze, he’d returned defeatedly to the mansion asking for the staff to round up Riza’s friends so he could let them know what had happened.
Roy was at a loss of what to do. He was scared for her, and angry that she would just up and leave without saying anything or thinking this through properly. Did she not understand that it wasn’t safe for her to go out there, especially not by herself? That Kimblee had his men out looking for her? He’d no doubt made the connection between the woman in The Vaults who’d slipped through his clutches, disappearing off the face of the earth, and the description his men had given him the night of the raid on his home.
It sparked a lot of fear inside Roy when his mother had filled him in on the situation around the city and had murmured quietly that he should make sure everyone kept a closer eye on Riza. Given her character, Roy knew she’d hate it, but whether she liked it or not, while in his mother’s home, they would do their absolute best to make sure she was safe.
They owed it to her, after all.
And that included when it came to taking down Kimblee.
Roy had watched Kimblee and Riza's interaction from the hidden escape tunnel at the back of the inn. His mother had asked to provide back up and remain on standby should Riza need help, but she never specified exactly where he should provide back up from. As much as his mother did not like Roy going into The Vaults, he couldn’t leave Riza by herself. He wouldn’t do that to anyone.
Kimblee was an evil man – Roy had sussed that out within five minutes of being in his company – and something didn’t sit right with him at the thought that one person was being left to face him head on, alone. Especially a woman. Roy had heard stories. Kimblee was evil as evil can be to everyone, but he had a fascination with woman that made Roy want to vomit.
Kimblee had done horrible things to his female victims.
So, as Roy watched Kimblee touch and manhandle Riza, he’d bristled angrily. A part of him wanted to reveal himself and shove his knife into the throat of Kimblee there and then, but he had a job to do. Plus, it would only make things worse. Killing Kimblee wouldn’t be a loss to the world, however, it wouldn’t be enough. They needed to take down his entire organisation and system, or someone else would just take his place. From the shortlist, each person was just as bad and as twisted as the head man himself.
A thought occurred to him, given Kimblee’s past, that made Roy swallow the bile in his throat. Kimblee knew what Riza looked like. In the past, there had been whispers that once Kimblee was fixated on a target, there was no stopping him until he got what he wanted.
They needed to act, and fast.
“What did she say to you?” Rebecca demanded.
Roy sighed. He’d already told them everything. Edward had sat with his arms crossed angrily, a glare on his face which was directed at Roy. He no doubt thought Roy had been the cause of all of this. Rebecca was baffled about how, and angry her friend had left without saying at least something to Rebecca. Gracia was quiet and lost in thought. So was Alphonse, however he wrung his hands on his lap nervously.
“She said she needed to leave in order to protect us all,” Roy reiterated for what felt like the hundredth time. “She wanted to protect us from Kimblee’s wrath.”
“But it’s not safe out there!” Rebecca cried. “I told her this. There’s something else. Something she’s not telling us.”
Roy’s stomach tightened at the thought. “I’m sorry,” he added helplessly. “I lost her in the maze. I couldn’t track her.”
The room fell silent. Even Rebecca had stopped pacing. The only other change was Edward’s glare seemed to deepen, his eyes trying to burn into Roy’s.
Give it a rest, kid. He didn’t want a shouting match with a teenager. He didn’t run Riza away, although, Roy knew for a fact some people in the room had already considered that possibility. It only made his frustration grow. He only wanted to help. Why couldn’t they understand that? He didn’t want to run her away! He didn’t want to see her hurt again. It was their fault that she’d been dropped into this mess. All Roy wanted to do was make it right. He already felt guilty enough as it was.
“Where does this leave us, then?” Maes asked the room. He pushed off the doorframe he’d been leaning against and walked forward, joining their circle. “We’re all sitting around here stressing out or trying to pin the blame on someone.” Edward dropped his gaze and Rebecca’s shoulders sagged in response to his words. “No one is actually moving into any action. Where is she likely to go at a time like this?”
Maes had also attended their impromptu meeting, standing silently behind them all. He leaned against the doorframe with his shoulder, silently listening to them converse. With one ankle hooked behind the other, he crossed his arms over his chest while he observed objectively. He’d made no sound, no contribution, but Roy could tell from the air about him that he was concerned. Maes was never someone to leave a man behind. Roy knew that from experience. So, after his initial encounter with Riza, it didn’t surprise Roy that Maes felt protective of her like the rest of them did. It was just his nature.
Rebecca sighed after a moment’s pause. She raked her hand through her hair. “You’re right. I’m sorry. I’m just worried.”
“We all are,” Maes told her. That caused Edward to look between the two men who weren’t part of their little family. He looked slightly disbelieving of Maes’ confession. Roy couldn't blame him but it didn’t mean that he wasn’t frustrated by it.. Edward was very protective of the woman who had essentially been a mother to them. In a way, Roy was glad Riza had this kind of support system behind her. She’d always spoken about how she was so used to being on her own, but she wasn’t. She had four people in this room who would fight by her side and who loved her fiercely. That number was slowly creeping up to six people.
Roy didn’t know Riza very well. He’d never had the chance to. However, he could recognise when someone wanted to try and shoulder the whole world in order to protect the ones they loved. Roy had done it himself when dealing with Kimblee. He’d fought tooth and nail to keep his adoptive sisters away from that man, insisting he could handle the situation by himself. He just hoped that familiar feeling wouldn’t get Riza killed. That thought made his stomach tighten painfully in response.
*          *          *
The party was in full swing by the time Riza arrived at the ball. Couples were dancing throughout the ballroom, smiles on their faces as they moved together, laughed together, and had fun together. The strings filled the room with a beautiful sound that Riza would have stopped to appreciate fully, had she not had an agenda that night.
Symphonies were her favourite. When she was younger and had more time on her hands, she would sneak into the Central Opera House by the roof and listen to the orchestras and their instruments. There was something about the strings section that just tugged at her heart, swelling with emotion as she listened to the stories the violins and cellos had to tell.
She had her eye on her target – a man who was in the top tier of Kimblee’s organisation - Frank Archer. No one was as bad a person as Kimblee, but Archer was a close second. He made his way around the guests with a smug look on his face that Riza wanted to smack off.
Despite this being one of Kimblee’s balls, Riza had overheard snippets of conversations that told her Kimblee wouldn’t be attending tonight. That made her relax slightly, however in this company that was never fully possible. All the worst of the worst were here tonight. This was essentially the Central Mafia’s night and that set Riza on edge. She wished she had at least Rebecca and Gracia here with her, but this was her mess to clean up. She didn’t want to get them too involved. She already had by asking them to help her infiltrate Kimblee’s home. Thankfully he was interested in Riza, and Riza only.
She wouldn’t put them at risk.
There was a quiet tinkling of glass as a butler took to the staircase, elevating himself above the heads of everyone in the room. “Ladies and Gentlemen, if I could have your attention please.” The quiet murmur of the room died down and the orchestra ceased their playing. It made her uneasy losing the one thing she found was familiar in what was essentially shark infested waters for her. “I would like to announce the guest of honour tonight, Sir Solf J. Kimblee.”
While the other guests clapped and murmured excitedly between themselves, Riza felt her stomach drop. Dread prickled her skin and her heart rate picked up. This wasn’t the plan. This wasn’t how tonight was supposed to go. Mr. Marco had informed Riza that Archer was an incredible suck up to Kimblee. If he was here tonight, then Riza would lose her chance at trying to find out who’d ratted her out to Kimblee and would lose the opportunity to discover another way to take him down.
A week of work wasted, just like that.
It had been three weeks since she’d left the Madame’s mansion. Three lonely weeks. She missed her team, the boys, and she even found herself missing Mustang, despite what they’d gone through. During that time, he’d been kind to her. He’d looked out for her when it seemed like his mother wanted to kill her. He had watched her back while on a dangerous task set out by his mother. Most importantly, he’d watched out for her family.
In turn he’d suffered for it – he’d been stabbed – however didn’t despise any of them for it didn’t hold it against them. He felt guilty for his mother’s actions and Riza respected that he wanted to make it up to them.
So yeah, she found herself missing even his company.
Unfortunately, Riza wasn’t sure if that was just the loneliness talking or not. She chuckled to herself, muttering about how desperate she was getting nowadays now that she was missing him.
Riza weaved her way through the crowd, always keeping Kimblee to her right. He was situated at the bottom of the stairs in an incredibly expensive looking suit, his hair pulled and slicked back into his ponytail. A few men she passed by appeared to do a double take when they saw her and Riza begun to fear they recognised her face. That wouldn’t be good if they did. While on her own, that would be really bad. She was incredibly outnumbered here.
For a split second she lost sight of him and Riza faltered, turning in place to try and spot him again –
Only to catch his eye across the room.
Kimblee’s eyes bore into Riza’s.
Shit.
She needed to leave. Now.
Riza angled her head slightly so that only her profile was on show to Kimblee. Calmly, she shifted her arm so that her hands were close to the knives concealed on her forearms, hidden under the sleeves of her dress. She didn’t miss how his brow furrowed before she turned, obviously recognising her but couldn’t place her face.
This really wasn’t good.
She turned fully, her back to Kimblee and she walked away, acting nonchalant and as if nothing was amiss. She continued on her walk, still peering around the room as if looking for someone.
She needed to go.
“Excuse me, miss?”
Riza froze in her tracks. Her spine straightened as dread climbed up it, spreading across her scalp and lifting gooseflesh from her skin.
Shit.
She turned, seeing Kimblee’s eyes boring into hers once more.
“Good evening, sir,” she greeted, plastering a fake smile on her face. She ensured her voice was harsher than it had been before in the inn. It wouldn’t do much, however it might just throw him off enough that she could get away. It had a harder quality to it than before, self-assured and strong. She put on an Eastern accent, sounding more country than she was.
“I do apologise for my boldness, however, I feel we have met somewhere before.”
Riza cocked her head, pretending to think back to a time when she may have seen him in the past. “I don’t know, Mr. Kimblee. I don’t think we have had the pleasure of meeting before now.” She grinned at him, placing her hands on her hips.
“I feel like we have,” he pressed with a chuckle, his eyes narrowing ever so slightly.
Testing to see if she could keep up a charade? Or, not believing her in the slightest?
“I’m sure I would have remembered meeting you Mr. Kimblee. I apologise, but you might be confusing me with someone else.”
“No, I don’t think I am.” His smile dropped and his gaze hardened. Riza cocked her head in confusion, despite feeling fear and dread coil in her gut.
“I –”
“There you are,” someone said from behind Riza. Their tone made it sound like they’d been searching for her for a while. She turned in surprise, coming face to face with Mustang. He grinned at her, placing a hand on her shoulder before turning his smile towards Kimblee.
“My apologies, Mr. Kimblee,” Roy offered, giving her shoulder a squeeze. Recovering from her shock, her fake smile returned to her face and she turned to look at Kimblee once more. He was looking between them both, his brow furrowed in confusion. “But I must steal my wife away from you for one moment.”
Wife?
Roy chuckled, moving to wrap his arm around her shoulders instead. “I’ve been looking for you all evening,” he stated, turning his gaze towards Riza. There was a meaningful look in his eyes, telling Riza that he really meant what he said, but not in the context that Kimblee was aware of.
“You better keep your eye on that one, Mr. Mustang.” Riza couldn’t help but bristle at his words. “She appears to be a wanderer. Who knows what trouble she would get into by herself.”
Riza smiled at him, acting oblivious despite the sharp look Kimblee gave her.
Shit. He might know who she was.
“Believe me, Mr. Kimblee,” Roy chuckled. “I would never let her go.”
“He’s such a hopeless romantic,” Riza cut in, jerking her head towards her “husband”.
“The only trouble she’ll get into unattended is running up a debt in my name. She does love her dresses,” he added, shaking his head and rolling his eyes fondly towards Kimblee. “Anyway, we must be going, dear.” He squeezed her shoulder with his hand again. “It was a pleasure to see you again, Mr. Kimblee.”
“Likewise, Mr. Mustang.” Kimblee’s tone suggested it was anything but a pleasure.
Riza offered her own goodbye and allowed Roy to guide her in a certain direction. To be honest, anywhere was better than in Kimblee’s company.
One thing she noticed was that his arm never left her shoulders.
An act. It was all an act. But why did she enjoy the feeling of his arm around her shoulders so much? Why was she so relieved and happy to see him again?
It was the loneliness. It was the isolation. That’s all it was, right? Nothing more.
“What are you doing here?” Riza hissed out of the corner of her mouth while smiling at passing guests. While she felt relieved that he was here, but the whole point was that she’d left to protect them all.
“You’re a difficult woman to track down, Miss Riza.” He steered her towards the bar, both hands moving to her shoulders, moving her in front of him, while he whispered in her ear. “What would you like to drink?”
Nothing. She wanted answers.
“Mustang.”
“What will it be, sir?” the bartender asked him. He looked expectantly at Riza, but she said nothing. She just glared at him, wanting an answer.
“Two martinis, please.”
“Coming right up.”
“Mustang –”
“Not here,” he murmured, leaning in close and offering her a soft smile, playing the part of her “husband”. “I’ll explain everything once outside,” he murmured.
Riza set her jaw, not happy at his answer, but also trying to suppress the shiver that spread up her spine as his breath caressed the skin of her ear.
“Kimblee is watching us,” he stated. “Closely.” Sure enough, as Riza casually cast her gaze around the room, there he was, standing by the staircase as he looked over towards her and Mustang. Her gaze continued onwards, nodding and turning back to Mustang, with a smile. She acted as if she’d been looking for something he pointed out, and was agreeing with him, her fake smile back on her face.
“We need to go,” Riza whispered. With Kimblee here and surrounded by all his men, they weren’t safe.
“I agree, but we can’t just run after talking to him.” He downed his cocktail and Riza followed suit.
An idea sprung into her mind. It made her stomach tighten in uncertainty, but it might just work.
“Follow my lead.”
She tugged him onto the dancefloor, adopting the persona she used when on a lift. It was the mask she used while trying to wrap her targets around her finger, to stop them from noticing that she was trying to rob them. Riza batted her eyelashes at him with a soft smile, tugging his body towards hers. Surprised, Mustang caught himself before crashing into her, but his body was now pressed up against hers. Riza suppressed her gasp of surprise at the sensation. His hand enveloped hers tightly, instinctively bringing his other to her waist. The fingers against her waist momentarily made her lose her concentration, but she blocked it out. Forced herself to.
Adopt the mask. Adopt the character.
She had to, or she would be dead.
They danced close to one another. Mustang pulled her closer at some point during the song, and Riza automatically moved her head to his shoulder.
Just a character. Just a character –
“He’s coming this way,” Roy murmured quietly. She felt the vibration of his voice under her ear. “Shit.”
Riza pulled back quickly, earning a surprised look from Mustang. Those dark eyes stared back into hers, mild concern on his face, as well as a hint of fear. He didn’t know what to do. His hold on her tightened as Kimblee headed towards them.
She continued on with her act and did the only thing that could cause a reason for them leaving.
She kissed him.

The Elder Scrolls VI wish list:
In-depth character customization with tons of options: everything from colors of both inner and outer iris to height and voice.
Player character origins. I want a choice between having completely blank origins, so that I can create my own backstory, or choose between a couple of existing ones, which will affect the gameplay in the long run. Like if I choose to be an Outlaw at some point a team of bandits instead of attacking me will give me a quest, or if I decide that I want to be a Noble, then aristocratic NPCs will recognize me as one of their own and as such I’ll have easier time gaining their trust.
A well working physics engine, so that we can have realistic flowing hair, clothes that move in the wind, horse’s mane and tail that swish realistically when it gallops, etc.
At least some environmental objects being destructible: rocks falling to pieces after getting hit by a stray fireball, enemies getting thrown at certain walls, that crumble and crush said enemies, bridges that can be brought down to cut off the path, locked doors that can be destroyed with a few swings of a maul. Just let me annihilate piles of crates and barrels like other games do, damnit!
Player character being a physical presence recognized by the game world, such as grass swaying when I walk through it, my feet leaving footprints on snow and sand that look different depending on whether I’m barefoot or not, seeing all the little rocks being kicked about as I run on gravel, and piles of dead leaves doing the same when I run through them, dust and small debris falling from old wooden structures as I step on them, etc. Basically, feeling like my body isn’t just a ghost running through the lands without leaving a trace.
Ability to combine spells with each other or the environment for various effects, like they did it in Divinity Original Sin 2. I want to be able to throw a lightning bolt into a puddle and electrocute all the enemies stood in the water, or throw a fireball at a barrel of oil and cause a platform to collapse under the force of an explosion and kill the archers that were on said platform (again about the destructible objects), or cast an ice spell on water, so that the enemies slip, fall and get stunned. If such a mechanic is not full of potential for some ridiculous and hilarious situations, then I don’t know what is.
Unique companions with backstories and personalities, likes and dislikes, goals and agendas. They can also be romanced by ANY player character, no matter their sex/race/other traits and the romance progression is close to a real life relationship, with ups and downs, jokes and arguments, sexy times and break ups.
Let me have a squad of my own. Two or maybe even three companions at once. They also have their own relationships and opinions about each other. They chat, they argue, they flirt, they rant about being forced to travel with that jerk, they get overprotective towards the player if they’re romanced and hear the other one catcalling the player, they share their opinions, give the player advice on the current situation, they each have their own comments about places and other NPCs and they may or may not see eye to eye on those opinions. Let there be drama in true “party of DnD adventurers” fashion!
Also Dogmeat-like animal companion, who can travel alongside other companions and do stuff like sniff out enemies, find goodies, do tricks, duplicate items, grab items from containers with master locks on them... You know, the usual Dogmeat stuff.
Mounts other than horses. I want to see Redguards riding their camels, Khajiiti caravans with senches, Nords putting bears under the saddle. If horses are still the only rideable animal, then I want variety and customization: lots of breeds to choose from, individual armor, saddlebags and cosmetic items, ability to name a horse and have it come to the player at a single whistle. Also, Shadowmere. TES 6 won’t be the same without that demonic horse.
At least one friendly dragon. Because I need more of Paarthurnax.
More active Divines. Daedric quests are fun, no arguing there, but I’d also like to go on a holy quest bestowed upon me by, say, Akatosh himself, not some old prophecy. Also Divine relics to counterbalance Daedric artifacts.
More stuff to kill your time with. Games at taverns, visiting brothels, betting on horse racing or participating yourself, watching street performers and so on. I want to take part in the same entertainment the inhabitants of Tamriel do, damnit!
More alive, realistic world. If there’s a war I want to see hanged deserters on a tree, if it’s autumn I want to see people throwing harvest festival parties in their towns and cities, if it’s a plague outbreak I want to see corpses, sick people and hear church bells... Again, the Witcher 3 did it, now I want all of this grungy, dirty, realistic shit in the next TES game!
Tons of dialogue choices based on the player character’s skills, traits, race, sex, affiliation with factions, etc. I want NPCs to react to the character in a dynamic way, so that each new playthrough with a new character is fresh and inexperienced before. Let them Nords throw sexist comments at my Dunmer lady, let the Khajiits deny information to any other character that is not a Khajiit, let my bulky Nord fellow get discounts at the bar and my Imperial guy in fancy clothes get into the royal palace way easier that an Argonian in a hood would. I want to feel, see and hear that NPCs know and react to my character in a realistic way, so there are more challenges, interesting moments, secret dialogues and hidden quests only available for a certain character that made certain choices. Let the next game be the true definition of RPG!
Khajiits and Argonians having animal-like legs that they had back in TES III Morrowind. Please.
Longer and more complicated guild quests, so that even joining the guild requires time and skill, let alone progressing through ranks. And don’t make me a leader of each and every faction! Make me a second in command or a high ranking official with new perks and armor as a reward. Don’t make me the most overpowered mortal in Tamriel again, because it’s getting old fashioned.
Some sort of an ability tree, which allows you to tinker and make bombs, traps, contraptions and other awesome goodies that’ll make any combat a wild party.
Good third person animations. C’mon, Bethany Esda, I know you can do it.
Voiced protagonist. If not fully, then on the Divinity Original Sin 2′s level, where the player character does not speak in dialogues, but has voiced comments when interacting with certain objects or entering a location, etc. Or just add an option in the Settings menu to turn on or off player character’s voice.
Ability to hide that ugly ass helmet with a single click of a button, without being forced to choose between showing my awesome hairdo to the world and +5 to Armor Rating.
Ability to equip multiple weapons at once and also being able to see them on my character, i. e. a bow on my back, and axe on my right hip, a dagger on my left hip and a staff alongside the bow. Also they jiggle according to physics.
Big cities. No, I mean, like, really, truly BIG cities. I mean some Novigrad from the Witcher 3 type of big cities. I want to get lost in them. I want to find all the secrets, hidden in dark alleys and on the rooftops. I want countless quests within the city itself. Just let me enjoy some fantasy medieval city life, okay?
Animated activities. When I click to skin a dead deer I want to see my character sit down and do some work with a knife. When I go to a spot where fish is abundant I want to see a fishing rod being thrown into the water. That sorta thing.
Detailed crafting system. I. e. you could choose to make a handle of a sword and its blade from different materials and have different effects on them that combine once you put the sword together. Or whilst making armor you could pick between different textures, materials, colors and such.  Basically, what they did in Dragon Age Inquisition. That was a fun system to play around with.
Also more subcategories for crafting, like if you are a high level smith you could craft some horseshoes for your mount that’ll increase its galloping speed, or if you’re a skilled alchemist you could make a throwable potion which will harm the enemies in a certain way (like a jar of bees or something). And, of course, accompanying animations are welcome. I’d die to see my character put some horseshoes on their steed.
A loveable villain, who could be “persuaded” to abandon his goals, join your squad and become your new LI. Basically, Miraak 2.0, but with a happily ever after ending.
Dwemer prosthetics. Sotha Sil thinks he’s so hip with his metallic arm, doesn’t he? Well I too want to have a metallic arm, damnit!
Ability to furnish your house however you like. When you buy a house there could be a choice between a fully furnished version and an unfurnished version of your house. After that you could either re-arrange the furniture in your abode or buy new furniture that suits your tastes. Then you could enter furnishing mode and have a blast decorating your dream house to your heart’s content. Basically, what we saw in Fallout 4′s Homeplate and Fizztop Grille.
Outposts, keeps or anything like that. They could be like small bases that you take control of once you slaughter its previous owners, where you and your squad of companions could rest, talk, repair broken armor and weapons or buy new ones, stock up on potions and bandages, that sort of thing. There also could be a special object that will allow you to instantly switch between the companions and/or choose a different mount from a collection of those that you own. Also there could be a badass custom flag of yours marking that place as your own.
i’ll proly add some more later, but rn i’m out of ideas xD

March Forecast for Sagittarius
Slow down and savor the moment, Sagittarius. The stars serve up another busy month, and you need to pace yourself as you take it all in. The Sun is in Pisces and your domestic fourth house until March 20, putting the spotlight on home, family and your closest bonds. Nurturing people will play a significant role in your life, so aim to connect from a heart-centered place instead of being “all business.”
You’re the sign of the traveler, but for the first three weeks of the month, you’ll benefit from setting down your bags and spending quality time at base camp as often as you can. You’ll appreciate the time this gives you to integrate all the energy that’s gotten stirred up this year. If you’ve been reeling from the eclipses of January 31 and February 15, March could help you start to make sense of it all. There haven’t been a lot of quiet moments to work through the ideas, conversations and insights you’ve been having at warp speed!
But you won’t be cocooned under the covers with your Netflix queue and a tub of comfort food. Until March 17, energizer Mars is in Sagittarius, where it’s been firing up your courage, confidence and charisma since January 26. You’ll be too high in demand to go totally off the grid. And just like in January, this month is bookended by TWO full moons (on March 1 and 31), which will bring powerful moments to manifest and take action. Two planets, including your ruler, Jupiter, will also turn retrograde, giving you the chance to slow down and reflect. Although retrogrades can bring their share of annoying complications, they’re also prime periods to play catch-up, something you could really use right now!
The month starts off on a high note, as the clarifying March 1 Virgo full moon beams into your tenth house of career and success. Your efforts from the past six months could come together with a reverberating flourish. You could be recognized for your labors and expertise or given a post of responsibility (with a fancy title to match). With la luna in service-centric Virgo, you may have a sweeping realization about where and how your work can best make a difference in the world.
Since full moons bring transitions and endings, you might decide to depart from one career path or close things up with a project that’s run its course. Don’t forget to stop and celebrate your triumphs instead of just leaping into the next thing. You sweated bullets to meet this milestone, so treat yourself!
Good thing, then, that Pisces season gives you license to pamper yourself. And if you need a full-on day to retreat and rejuvenate, consider March 17, when the Pisces new moon kicks off a fresh six-month chapter of your personal life. Calling all house-hunters: La luna could play Realtor or interior designer. If you’re looking for a new place to hang your hat or you’re bored with your decor scheme, today could kick off the search for new digs, a remodel or a style overhaul. New moons manifest over six months, so this could develop into a bigger project. Start now, but take your time!
Family, particularly your mother or a female relative, could be in the spotlight at this new moon. If you’ve been running yourself into the ground, pause and get your home, personal care and lifestyle back on track. From nourishing food to regular movement to much-needed brain breaks, the new moon reminds you to rest and refuel.
Another reason to make self-nurturing a top priority? From March 8 to July 10, your ruling planet, expansive Jupiter, will turn retrograde in Scorpio and your twelfth house of healing, closure and endings. Jupiter is in Scorpio from October 10, 2017, until November 8, 2018, a 13-month cycle that can be a bit of wild ride. You’ve been in a deep transitional cycle. Outmoded situations, from friendships to jobs to relationships, are being swept away with your ruler in this karmic house. Jupiter only comes here every 12 years, and it’s a time when you learn to surrender, receive and release. Not easy for any human—and certainly not for a make-it-happen Sag!
Do some codependent cords need to be clipped? You can give and give, but with Jupiter retrograde, you’re reminded to share your gifts with people who actually value—and are capable of returning—the generosity. It’s easy for you, all-knowing one, to lapse into the habit of playing guru figure, with a lot of people reliant on your strength, wisdom and open-handedness. If you find yourself saying, “I’ll take care of it” or “I’ll just do it,” think twice during this retrograde. You could be in serious danger of burnout, and if you don’t set limits, you’ll only exacerbate the situation. It’s time to stop enabling people—and start empowering them to be more self-sufficient.
With Jupiter in your twelfth house of hidden agendas, you could be drawn into a situation that’s intriguing but also secretive or destructive. Old habits, such as partying too heavily, embarking on an emotional affair or doing something that feels “sneaky,” may be extremely tempting—and extremely tough to resist. The twelfth house rules the subconscious, and during this cycle, your “shadow side” could rear its head.
This uber-reflective period can be a hall of mirrors, making you question what’s real and what’s an illusion. If you haven’t mourned a loss, handled a heartbreak or processed tough feelings, Jupiter retrograde could open the floodgates. Have you been relying too heavily on just one person for emotional support? They might be less available now—so make sure you put in some new people (possibly professionals?) so you’re not dependent on one source. You might also decide to step back from a situation that’s been toxic, confusing or draining. If you’ve been unsure of whether someone was a soulmate or just a big talker, this Jupiter phase can help you discern what’s really up.
Here’s the silver lining: You’re clearing the path for a fresh 12-year cycle that begins on November 8, when Jupiter enters Sagittarius for the first time since 2007. Until then, look at the events that transpire, especially the more challenging ones, as opening your eyes to what no longer serves you, so you can clear the decks for a fresh start this fall.
Fierceness returns on March 20, when the Sun moves into Aries and your fiery fifth house and cranks up your passion and creativity for a month. Spring fever much? With el Sol in your chart’s love shack, single Sags will enjoy some sizzling new prospects. Under these expressive skies, you could attract attention and even a hit of fame. Glam up and get ready for the spotlight, Sag…it’s courting you (as are a few other admirers).
But DO rehearse your acceptance speech and watch where you point those amorous arrows. From March 22 to April 15, Mercury—the planet of communication, technology and travel—will be retrograde in Aries and this spicy sector. This could bring complications and disruptive drama, possibly fueled by an ex or misunderstandings in your love life. Be careful what you put in writing or send via text, as data can be misinterpreted—or re-routed—leading to an embarrassing snafu. Take some deep, cleansing breaths before you pop off with a knee-jerk response or clap back to a troll on social media.
A perfect night to gather with friends arrives on March 31, when the month’s second full moon (a blue moon) lands in Libra and your eleventh house of groups and networking. You might be celebrating a team triumph or wrapping up a group project, or a cutting-edge collaboration could turn official. You may also decide to part ways with a group and start spending more time with a new tribe who’s more on your wavelength. Since the eleventh house rules technology, there’s also a chance you could become “Internet-famous” today with a viral post or video.
Love & Romance
A deep, heart-opening moment arrives on March 1, when Venus in your home zone trines your ruler, amplifying Jupiter, in your private and reflective twelfth house. It’s safe to let down your walls and open up with someone who’s already demonstrated their trustworthiness. Under this sweet sync-up, the initial sentimental Hallmark haze will give way to a sizzling attraction—and then what happens is up to you!
Meanwhile, fiery Mars is careening through your sign until March 17, making you flirty, forthright and downright magnetic. The red planet can attract high-powered people into your circle, so play to your candid Archer persona and don’t hesitate to make the first move. This energy only amplifies between March 6 and 31, when Venus sails through fellow fire sign Aries and your passionate fifth house. Single Sags may have their pick of the litter, while couples can reignite sparks just by being your bold and feisty self.
Just watch where you dabble, since from March 8 to July 10 Jupiter will be back-spinning through your twelfth house of fantasy, illusions and hidden agendas. A clandestine affair could pull you into its depths, which is even more likely while Mercury is retrograde in Aries and your fifth house of love from March 22 to April 15. And, on March 11, a trine between the unpredictable planets, Mars and Uranus, in rash fire signs could spark unpremeditated action. Think before you wink, because excuses and apologies might not be enough for the hurt parties.
Some semblance of sanity and stability returns on March 17, when Mars enters Capricorn until May 16. You’ll be motivated to dive into something with the potential to last. Here’s a tip for when you feel pulled in two directions: Think, don’t act! Talk it through with a grounded friend, and seriously consider their advice.
Key Dates
March 13: Venus-Saturn Square Romantic Venus in your amorous fifth house can start a sexy buzz all by herself. But today, her face-off with restrictive Saturn is a real buzzkill. Sigh. Of course you’re aware of all the practical considerations of getting involved with someone. But not everything has to have long-term potential to make it worth exploring—does it? Today, caution may win out over chemistry.
Money & Career
And…you’re off to the races! The month starts with “success” written all over it, as the March 1 Virgo full moon beams into your tenth house of career, ambition and professional acclaim. Something you’ve been working on since as far back as September could reach a peak moment, coming together to great fanfare. La luna can bring long-overdue recognition for your hard work, perhaps in the form of a job offer, leadership role or prestigious status boost.
With energizer Mars in Sagittarius until March 17, you’re on fire—and your charisma is palpable. The red planet only visits your sign every two years, and when it does, it fills you with life-force energy and unstoppable drive. You won’t be taking no for an answer or getting deterred by minor obstacles. Your soaring confidence and can-do spirit are contagious, so don’t be surprised when everyone clamors to be part of Team Sagittarius.
When Mars forms a powerhouse trine to innovator Uranus in your creative, attention-grabbing fifth house on March 11, you could achieve influencer status. Put yourself out there with fearless originality; this is one of those days when the world will sit up and take notice. Just know that you don’t have to go TOO over-the-top: aim for authentically unconventional yet appropriate. A little shock factor is okay, but you don’t want to risk alienating people. You just want to use your out-of-the-box ideas to get them think different.
Ready to monetize one of those big schemes or dreams? From March 17 to May 16, sizzling Mars will move through Capricorn and your second house of work and finances. Since the red planet can also fuel stress, be careful you don’t spend your bounty as fast as you earn it. This Martian cycle could bring a cash crunch or a nerve-wracking expense—but it can also motivate you to focus and hustle! If the competitive vibes stir up a work rivalry, bring the spirit of sportsmanship to it. Having another all-star around can spur you to be even better.
Or maybe you should just combine your superpowers? The March 31 Libra full moon in your eleventh house of groups and networking sounds the call to collaborate. While you’re a sign that loves to work independently, you’ve made great strides at being a team player over the past six months. Now you could be clinking glasses over a shared victory.
Ordinarily this full moon would be a great day to launch a tech-based venture, but Mercury, the ruler of communication, travel and information, will be retrograde from March 22 to April 15, which can throw a wrench in the works. Consider a “soft launch” today (after copious testing!) or just start teasing your big reveal, which you can unleash on your fanbase during the second half of April. When in doubt, wait it out!
Key Dates
March 2: Mercury-Jupiter Trine You won’t need notes or a “cheat sheet” to advocate for your ideas today. With expressive Mercury aligned with confident Jupiter in your intuition zone, you can trust that the right words will form in your mouth if you speak from your heart. You could rally a squadron of inspired supporters eager to champion your cause.
Love Days: 19, 23 Money Days: 1, 11 Luck Days: 27, 9 Off Days: 20, 25, 6

A Frown a Day Keeps the Christmas Cheer at Bay
Paring: Bucky Barnes/Reader
Tags: female reader, set after Captain America: Civil War, Christmas, advent calendars, Bucky Barnes returns, Bucky Barnes Remembers, fluff, crack, Christmas fluff, ugly holiday sweaters, mutant powers (but not really?? it was more like a freak accident sort of superpower-inheriting situation).
Summary: Reader just really wanted to join the Avengers. And then she really just wanted to be friends with Bucky. With all the Christmas that's going around, maybe her wish came true...
Word Count: 2,087
Posting Date:  2016-12-08

Tumblr media
For as long as you could remember, you'd wanted to make a difference in the world. That had been a normal idea, before you had gotten into a car accident with your sister, Jess, and adopted out into a home where you were the freak of the family, and subsequently, weren't allowed to reach out to your sister. Perhaps being able to move things without touching them was a little too much for the small suburban home of the Dersluy's, and you held your abilities at bay in order to keep a sort of peace under their roof.
Now, at twenty, you're out and free, and still wanting to do the same thing you'd wanted as a kid; to do good, to make a difference in the world. Except, now there had been an alien invasion in New York City, and the Fantastic Four had decimated a small town and there was the whole thing where the Avengers had actually been a superhero team, and then as soon as they were together, there was the rift, and end of the team.
But that wouldn't stop you from joining them. It's how you found yourself on the bus out of Hell's Kitchen, hitchhiking, catching a handful of trains and walking to the facility you'd heard rumours of in upstate New York. It's also how you found yourself knocking on the door, and waiting for the figure of Tony Stark himself to open the entrance.
"We're not a bed and breakfast, kid," he ran a hand over his beard, and squinting his eyes, he began to close the door. At once, you felt it; the need to use your abilities. There was no way you went this far out of your way to be rejected by Iron Man himself. With just a flick of your wrist, the door stilled, and with not a tug more he couldn't shut the door. "Uh, I think you got the wrong big building. X Mansion is that way," he pointed over your head.
You shake your head. "I'm here to join the Avengers. I can't sit around watching my city turn to shit and people in masks without agendas try and hold the world on their shoulders." You fish into your pocket, and show him your I.D. "I'm _______ Jones. I'm not a mutant, and I'm not letting a pompous arsehole like yourself stop me." You push past him, eyes taking in the facility's high walls and glass displays of many trophies and things collected.
"You're determined, I'll take that," Tony's door clicks behind him, your telekinesis is weakened at your distraction of being in the place you'd dreamed about ever since you'd been a teenager. "But the boy band is broken up. Everyone's gone their ways -,"
You shake your head. "I've done my research. Dr. Banner is working in Haiti, Ms. Romanov in Germany, the archer's in his home, with his family." You shoot back, ignoring the shock on Mr. Stark's face. "Vision is in this facility here today, and Captain Rogers and Sergeant Barnes are one state over with Miss Maximoff."
The Iron Man's eyes widen like he's just heard the impossible. "That's classified information -,"
You nod. "I can read minds easier than moving things outside my body, Mr. Stark," you interrupt, facing him. "You need to call the team back together. I don't care how many broken hearts and shields there are, but there needs to be a team. We're a planet without heroes, we need defending."
The AI speaks up, a female voice intoning before she is instructed to, "I shall have all of the Avenger I.D. holders contacted to arrive here within forty-eight hours," she tells Tony, and adds, "_______ Jones makes a good point, sir."
He grumbles under his breath. "Fine. But I'm not making eye contact with Barnes until he apologises for what he's done."
But he makes eye contact with him as soon as the car arrives with the two beefy guys you'd seen on social media, and the waif-like Scarlet Witch who seems both warily skirting away from Vision and wanted to draw nearer to him. Tony Stark seems oblivious to it all, especially when the spies arrive; Clint has a tan and Nat is grumbling in a new language she picked up on her flight, pointedly ignoring everyone by playing with a gameboy. But it's your stubbornness that brings them all together; it's the trademark stubbornness of the Jones' who reunites the Avengers and, ultimately, earns you a place at their table.
---
It's Christmastime before you know it, and while everyone is just working out and being generally superheroes, you find yourself on recuperation after a mission gone slightly south (someone from something called IGH broke your arm slightly) alongside Sergeant Bucky Barnes himself. After some Googling, a few talks with Steve Rogers (and his permission for you to read his memories of the old Bucky) you had to say that the man you were sitting beside playing Call of Duty wasn't too much of a different guy to what everyone said he was. He was still the ladies man, but quieter. He was still snarky, but only to those he trusted. And, he was a huge science geek, and you knew he freaked out every time he saw a new invention like a true fanboy.
"It's snowing outside," you comment, trying to reach under your cast to itch the skin. But, no avail.
All your words do is make Bucky pause the game, and glance to the big window that's adjacent to the television. After the trouble that he and everyone had been through, Bucky had a new arm attached, but from what you gathered, it wasn't as great as whatever technology he had before. He nods, placing the controller beside his knee, and goes to stand. "Whenever it snowed back in Brooklyn, I'd make Steve wear all his clothes, and we'd go out to make snow people." He shares without a thought.
You raise an eyebrow. "Sounds cool, dude. Want to go out and build one?" you ask him.
He shakes his head, and stretches his back, a cracking noise coming from within. "I'm an old man, ________, the wind goes straight through me," he deadpans, facing you with a smirk on his face. You couldn't help but grin back, all the more amused by his black humour, his dry wit. You weren't sure how it was, but out of all the people at the Avengers facility, he chose to be your friend as well as Steve's.
And it felt good to have a friend.
---
"I'm going to the store, we need to stock up before Christmas," Clint announces one day. He's made it clear that he is not staying around for Christmas, thank you very much, he has his baby's first Christmas to celebrate, and he's very into Laura, and prefers to see her face over any of our ugly mugs. But, by this claim he makes, you find it hard to believe he isn't going to try and sneak a whole roast turkey home to his family just because he can.
You grab the keys for the team van from his hands using your abilities, and motion for him to follow. "I'm driving. I'm clean out of dry shampoo, and I can't look like more of a mess that I am when this bad boy is broken," you gesture to your arm.
There's a wrestle within your palm, and the keys are out of your fingers by the familiar cold metal ones of your friend Bucky. "You can't drive with one hand, and Clint either drives like my mother or he's panicking because he has a dead body in the back seat." His voice is monotonous, his intimidating murder-walk leading the way to the van.
You glance to Clint, giving him a rueful smile. "Hey, at least you've got another pair of hands to carry the shopping in with, yeah?"
Clint stocked up on all the things everyone needed; whiskey and assortments of puddings, a turkey to roast and many other things. But it was on the confectionary isle when Bucky stood still.
"What's up, Buck?" You stood beside him, trying to figure out what had struck him dumb. On the shelf before him was a stack of advent calendars, each with a different picture to do with Christmas. "You okay?"
He points to the calendar. "Are those the ones with windows with chocolate in them?" He asks you, releasing the frosty the snowman decal from his pensive stare.
You nod. "Yeah, advent calendars. You had them back in the forties?"
Silently, Bucky nods. "Stevie was going through a rough time, after his mom died. I found the pennies to buy one for him, but he insisted we shared it." He smiled at the memory, his lips nearly hidden under the whiskers  he'd allowed to grow. "I'm buying one for Steve."
You grab three from the shelf. "And I'll get one for you, and me. It's no fun watching the two hot super soldiers have chocolate without me." You state, throwing them into Clint's trolley.
---
On Christmas Eve, Tony pushes Clint out the door - sending his love to Laura, and season's greetings - and serves everyone eggnog spiked with enough whiskey to make everyone grow a Stark beard themselves. Bucky seems to be already in the motion of keeping his beard, the hairs scruffier than ever when he's stuffed into an ugly sweater Natasha had brought him from Germany, knitted by someone who liked the pattern of white bunnies on the red snow. Under the sleeve, his arm looks normal enough.
Your're in Nat's ugly sweater, as it fits almost like she knew all your sizes and things before even meeting you. The pattern is of white stags in a mandala formation on a green background ... whoever knitted it probably had too much German lager to drink. But it's nice, and for a moment, where from the corner of your eye, you see it all. Steve is settling beside Tony, and they aren't slapping each other like teenagers. Wanda's hand is encased by Visions, silently sitting before the fire content in each other's company. Nat has a too-large t-shirt with the picture of mistletoe and the words kiss me if you don't want to keep your face written underneath. And you're sitting beside Bucky Barnes. The guy you rooted for ever since you saw him on the news when Nat cleared the name of S. H. I. E. L. D after the information dump. Perhaps the cutest soldier you'd ever met.
"You're frowning," he nudges you in the side, jolting you from the daydreams. "My Ma used to say something about being off in your head at Christmastime..." he muses.
You can't help but wonder what Mrs. Barnes had said, and without thinking, you settle your head onto his lap like you're a married couple or in a romantic novel like Pride and Prejudice and not the real world where he was a brainwashed assassin and you were a young girl separated from your superhero twin after the death of your family.
"Tell me, Bucky," you drawl, trying your best to sound like Elizabeth Bennett.
He stroke the hair that had fallen into your eyes aside, and leaning down, murmurs into your ear, "A frown a day keeps the Christmas cheer at bay," his voice is soft, breath hot and perfumed by alcohol he can't be intoxicated with. "It's just a silly saying..."
You shake your head, and before he straightens his back, you grab his face, and pull him down onto yours, connecting your lips onto his. The scruff around his face is not harsh and needle-like, but soft, and smells of sandalwood and hotel soap. Before you know it, he's kissing back, and the Avengers around you are ooing, and cooing, and someone's taken a photograph of the two of you on the sofa.
"I wasn't sure how to ask you to kiss me, but if that's how, I'll be reciting my Ma's things all the time," he grins, voice a whisper as he breaks away.
You beam. "Sure thing, Sergeant."
Maybe you had always thought that you would make a difference in the world. But from that day on, from the sparkle in his eyes, the life in his voice, the way Bucky Barnes looked at you, at the world; you knew you sure as sweet Christmas that you'd made a difference in his world.

What’s Coming (and Going) on Netflix Canada in September 2018
Storm Reid plays Meg Murry in A Wrinkle in Time (Photo: Netflix Canada)
If you’re a *maje* TV and movie junkie, you know that September is one of the best times to get your binge watching on.
