PERSONALITY

Child: As a kid, Mikael is pretty carefree and curious about the world. He wanted to join in the annual Yuletide family Quidditch tourney as soon as he could walk and talk. He may fall on the autism scale very slightly. He likes to hang out by himself and focus on his hobbies. He wasn’t super interested in learning combat like the rest of the kids but he still practices with a shortsword to keep in shape for Quidditch. However, he doesn’t like actually fighting someone and prefers peace. He also learns survival skills and tracking from his father and grandfather.

Teenage: He stays the same when a teenager, but even more interested in languages and Quidditch. He plays as a Keeper at Hogwarts and might even become Captain one day. He also becomes Head Boy and Prefect. By the time he finishes Hogwarts, he knows many languages. He doesn’t socialize much so he doesn’t have many friends, but the ones he does have he is loyal to. Mikael is always kind and generous to everyone.

Tasked to keep an eye on the developments in the UK during the Second Wizarding War, she was killed only a few months after Jupiter's birth, leaving behind her husband and two little children. Unlike Jupiter, who has no memories of her at all, he still has a few that he clings to desperately—her singing him to sleep, singing 'Non ho L`età' being one of them.

Father: Aldéric Mylon Durand - Aldéric is a renowned Dragonologist from France. He is friends with Kaari Arcano and was part of the Phoenix Resistance and helped to smuggle innocent wizards abroad, granting them refuge at Fort Durand. He was devastated when his wife Clelia was murdered by Death Eaters, merely months after the birth of their daughter, Jupiter. But it only made him more determined to put an end to it. After the war and now a single dad, he decided to move to Skalafell to get away for a while, heal his emotional wounds and work with Kaari at his sanctuary. Between his studies and travels, he’d go back and forth between France and Skalafell, taking his kids with him wherever he’d go. The early loss of his wife caused him to be quite protective of his kiddos—so be aware! He can definitely be a little intimating but he's actually just a soft idiot. He recently agreed to fill in the spot of Professor for CoMC—although only temporarily. Offers extra classes on Dragonology for students that are interested. Elio and his father have a very good relationship and the two often go on surfing trips together. Tbh they're just best buds xD

Backstory

Elio grew up in the wizard village Skalafell for a large part of his childhood. His father had moved them there after the loss of his mother which was an especially hard hit for him. Surrounded by nature and due to frequent hiking trips, he learned to love and respect his environment and nature and expects others to do the same. The stories told by Alatar also triggered an inherent interest in myth and history which reflects in his pretty impressive collection of history books and historical maps.

With his father being a Dragonologist he was bound to travel a lot, however, his father always took his kids along with him—anywhere that didn’t propose any immediate threat to them. Travels, dinner parties and lectures quickly became part of their daily lives and so did duelling, physical combat and archery. Elio loved exploring different countries and cultures alongside his family and even picked up a few muggle customs during their travels—surfing, as the muggles call it, being one of them.

Just when Elio was about to start school, his father was asked to step in to teach CoMC at Hogwarts which made Elio want to attend the school in the Scottish Highlands rather than Beauxbartons or Durmstrang (which otherwise would’ve been the obvious choices).

After his Hogwarts years, he was offered the position of Seeker by the Quiberon Quafflepunchers and quickly proved himself worthy to play on the French National team as well. After a few years of being a successful quidditch player, he quit focusing his attention on more pressing matters and became a full-time Conservationist (maybe? yes?).

Elio goes back and forth between the fort, Paris, and Skalafell—and sometimes Florence to visit his grandparents.

PERSONALITY

Child: As a child, she was carefree and high spirited. She loved running around the village at a young age saying hi to everyone and getting into trouble. She would build snowmen and the village people would all keep an eye on her and give her free treats from the market stalls. She was the first kid of that generation and she loved being alone. She also occasionally would play with Elio Durand as they were close in age. Dayamanti was a wild child who spent more time outside and in the forest than inside.

Teenage: At 10 years old, Dayamanti’s Gift showed up. She was the first one to be born with it in around 100 years which caused the entire village to be in an uproar. They all fawned over her and praised her. All the attention and weight of the legacy of the Gift made her become more introverted. She would often use the forest as an escape to get away. Then at 14, her parents died at sea during a trade route. This caused her to spiral into a depression. She assigned herself as caretaker of her sisters even though she hated it. She knew their grandparents were a bit old and couldn’t handle it themselves as she knew her sisters better. She pushed her grief aside so she could take care of them and help them recover from their own grief. She didn’t have any time herself to do it. Dayamanti started to get irritable because she hated having so much responsibility and she wanted to be free and only have herself to look out for. But she would never admit that she really did care for her sisters and worried about them.

Adulthood: Once her sisters got old enough that she didn’t have to constantly raise them or worry about them, she felt a lot better. She had more free time for herself again and time to focus on what she wanted. Alatar started to train her in blacksmithing and she eventually took over his shop.

Most at Ease When: She is all alone hunting in the forest with nobody to look after and she’s free to practice her powers

bro i mean... her father’s the freaking sultan!!! and though she’s not that powerful in the harem or the hierarchy, she has servants and many pasas willing to send executioners to your room. she’s, after all, a sultana by blood. her wishes are orders, including killing you. 

3. blanche dubois 

i mean, she’s a dragonologist!! i wouldn’t want to fuck with a woman who only needs to say the word and her dragons will burn you alive. besides, she can and will fight you and probably win so uh... another no for me

she’s from a powerful and dangerous family, from the og Phoenix Resistance, escaped Voldemort and trained by Alastor Moody himself, as well as being an excellent fighter of martial arts in her own right, delphine makes it to the list of un-fuckable character

from a powerful pureblooded family, she becomes a powerful and dangerous hit witch and feared by many. she’s got knowledge of ancient magic so uh... another no for me 

7. marcellus thorne 

an influential socialite, he has enough money to either have you silent or gone from the country, he has the perfect contacts to end you. he’s also a very skilled duellist so... another no for me 

8. adonis demiurgos 

a champion dueller, he doesn’t like violence... but will do what it takes for his loved ones, and has that gryffindor bravado so... another nope for me 

9. lihuan wei 

she’s a freaking samurai, and so was her father, who’s a friend of the Chinese emperor and can and will cut you in half... ten years with the female samurais is no joke. another nope for me

the son of adonis, he’s x10 times smarter than anybody, ambitious and his wife is the magiens magister, who’s also a skilled witch. i pity you if they team up to kill you... another no for me

one of the first to resist voldemort, she knew him personally and is a doctor... she doesn’t only know how to fix you, she also knows how to break you to the point of rendering you useless for anything, and her temper is no joke and is also a niece of blanche so uh... nope thanks smwjd

one of salazar’s most powerful allies, she’s got knowledge and skill from very ancient magic, is the ancestor of blanche and elodie, she doesn’t need a wand to effing destroy you and have breakfast with your bones. another nope for me 

13. semele thorne 

descendant of marcellus, she’s very rich and popular, and knows everyone’s business, so she’ll know everything about you in no time, and will destroy you with that. she also is an skilled dueller and fighter so that’s a nope for me 

14. lennox arcano-thorne 

the fact that she’s an arcano makes her dangerous, but also a daughter of semele?? boy you’re done. because she’s a necromancer and the moment she rips off her gloves, you’re done for. another nope for me 

15. ernest di napoli 

last but not least, mr di napoli here used to be italian nobility, is a skilled dueller who kicked his father’s ass out of the country in a very difficuly duel, is an athlete and rich enough to end you himself.

I tried putting the other trio with them but their pictures didn’t look good together and these three really did so it’s just them 😂 I’ll try to make one for the girls later or maybe add them to this. Hey hi hello. I have yet another inquiry to the general public of mutuals. If I were to start a modern hpma Empyrean crew,,, would anyone wanna join? I have no idea who would captain it nearly 100 years after Jules Aquila. Maybe an ancestor. OR maybe it’s been grounded and abandoned somewhere. Could be someone who has grown up reading about the stories and rumors about a flying pirate ship of the 20s who eventually finds it in a cave or sm Goonies style. I don’t think I will make a new oc for it (unless it’s decided it will be an Aquila ancestor) but I have someone already who will join the crew!! Mikael Arcano Thorne is perfecttt. He is a translator and that would work well for adventures. I just really want an excuse for my modern Arcano kids to hang on the Empyrean 🤡
