#arcane episode 13 review

have gathered my thoughts on the next episode of arcane, episode 13 AKA arcane season 2 episode 4. i actually don’t have much to say about this episode but let’s get right to it.

there has been a little bit of a time jump. by context clues and other, i’d say it’s at least been a few months to almost half a year, give or take. Caitlyn is still leading all of Piltover’s enforcers and a deployment of Noxian troops on her crusade for Jinx in the name of justice. by this point it seems like the efforts have led to at least some reclamation of Zaun under Piltover’s name because of how present they really are.

no sign of Vi in this episode (a first for the series) but Maddie, still a junior officer, is in some kind of relationship with Caitlyn who is not anywhere near as receptive to touches and sexual seductions as Maddie wants her to be. it is sad seeing this change in Caitlyn—one we knew was coming. she’s bitter, still head-strong, but also resolute in not stopping until her goal is reached. thankfully she still doesn’t trust Ambessa but is grateful for her “guidance” and expertise.

speaking of, Ambessa and her team are well aware of Mel, Jayce, and Heimerdinger’s (+ Ekko but she doesn’t know that) disappearance months ago. she attributes this to The Order/Black Rose (at least for Mel) and in her eyes was not a failing on her part, but a validation of the fact that her enemies fear HexTech capabilities. as a response to all this, she is privately having her team do research and experiment with HexTech gemstones to hopefully develop their own HexTech devices and weaponry. the failure of still not getting any real results does not seem to deter her much. the only think that stops her in this episode is Warwick, which, i watch with subtitles and so i know the creature’s name.

sadly, this is one of the two major things i have been spoiled on. i knew by the time of this creature’s introduction that Warwick, a champion from LoL (i think), was not only going to show up but that it is likely a deceased beloved character from season 1 Act I—******. it sucks, because i likely would’ve been rather surprised at such a possibility and then said reality but my reaction was nothing of the sort. however, whatever Warwick *is* is a definite kind of abomination with such a display of strength and carnage that we even know the Ambessa couldn’t stand up to it and was likely heavily injured by Warwick. we will find out her status soon, i think. i also think, because she’s an opportunist, like the situation with Amara with blame this attack on Zaunites and Caitlyn will take this and end up doing something she is likely to regret. we shall see.

lastly, Isha. i don’t know if her character is mute, selectively mute, or some other but her verbal silence is a great writing choice because it lets us hear Jinx more and have her work out their conversations and her own problems out loud with her voice—giving us more info + showing that after this time has come to a place of vulnerability and doesn’t mind showing some of that with Isha. Sevika is effectively a good guy now lol and protects Isha—good. i’m glad that little girl wasn’t there to witness the fight and distract Jinx but damn… Sevika really does care for Jinx. it’s strange. they get along really well now (at least compared to most other characters in the show) and when Jinx wants to go for Isha and (i guess) go for the other people wrongly imprisoned Sevika is totally for it. she also understands Jinx is a symbol and doing this for other Zaunites will help cement that for them and make Jinx actualize this reality before her.

really looking forward to the next episode. i’m missing all the disappeared characters, Vi, and still !! no Viktor/Sky—really wanna know more. i hope Elora is still alive. that is all.

Arcane Episode 1 Review: A Playground Indeed

I have a LOT to talk about with this because Arcane is an amazing beast even in just its first episode so I’m splitting it up into parts so if you want to skip something, look for the bold text.

A Distinction to Be Made

So I often worry with shows I’ve heard literally nothing bad that the hype is going to get to me. I’ll be primed to be harsh on it because my brain is hoping to see what other people see in it. It’s just a problem with my brain.

This was not one of those times because this series is already living up to its reputation... Though I’ll actually be critical first in saying that that’s not surprising. I don’t know if this is commonly true for Netflix series but a lot of people are going to judge this against Saturday Morning cartoons or normal broadcast stuff.

That opening sequence with Vander, Vi and Powder tells you this isn’t the same case. It is a confident choice to start so somber, to build pure atmosphere for the sort of hell that used to be this place to contrast it later against the struggling but surviving Lanes that we see later. It’s also one you’d NEVER get out of pretty much anything for broadcast television and dripping with enough money in five minutes to fund probably an entire episode of something like Amphibia.

It is prestige television like something like the Walking Dead so I’m going to try and not compare it to other things like The Owl House, Danny Phantom, etc. like that. It clearly is meant to be hard serialized, more serious, more impressive, etc. like that. I also don’t say this to knock it but it’s an important distinction versus a lot of its peers... Because it’s animated.

Anyone who comes to Arcane wanting a fun, PG-13 animated show is possibly going to be turned away just like those who hear it’s animated but serious might get turned away too. Luckily for me, I’m here for both sides so this pilot was FUCKING AWESOME.

Welcome to the Playground

Now I did compare it to prestige television but I want to start with the fact that unlike your Game of Thrones or Walking Deads, this first episode’s title lives up to it. This is a blast, in more ways than one. The overall energy, after the dreariness of the beginning, is a mix of excitement, tension and energy which is EXACTLY what it should be for an episode introducing us to young criminals trying to stretch their wings and find their place.

I’m trying to stick to this part being overall impression though so I won’t get into too many specifics. Part of what sells all of this though is the breath through the world of Piltover and the Lanes. The dynamic is nothing new but the episode is happy to really showcase each part’s different wonders as well as their dangers, despite how little time we get in Piltover. It makes the contrasts all the stronger and the threats all the more real.

But it never abandons wonder to wallow. This is what allows it to frankly keep up a positive feeling throughout the first episode. That things will workout, even as set backs and issues come up. This was just one bad job after all. What’s the worst that can happen?

Which I know enough to have had a rock forming in my stomach as the show began making it clearer and clearer that there was never a way for this job to go right. Even without light spoilers though, you can tell. It is curdling the sweet, warm milk that it’s trying to lull you to sleep with. That for as tough as Vi is, as capable her crew and how dominant Vander is over his domain, things are turning.

But the show is wise enough to wait. It has things to introduce after all like:

A Crew to Run With

So I won’t actually get into Vi and Powder yet, despite knowing them to be the main characters. Frankly, I think the fact that I can make this section at all though is a VERY good thing. The fact that this isn’t going to be just one line for these guys is even better.

Vi’s two friends are great. They feel like a play on the big dumb guy and small smart guy but they don’t play it entirely straight. The larger guy isn’t just a fat joke like one might expect or a liability because of his weight. Instead, they acknowledge the fact that vikings had very similar builds so while there’s a small touch of him just obliterating a cupcake, you know he puts in the work to at least mostly work it off. He is also the muscle and strength of the crew, alongside the heart. He appears to probably be about as capable as Vi in a fight but not nearly as ruthless. He frankly doesn’t seem to have the stomach to go quite as hard as Vi, nor the drive needed to be the leader, though the caution to be a great advisor.

The rogue of their party has his charm too. Not as good in a fight but more squirrely and scrappy. He’s also got more skills than the others, things that make him more invaluable and that has gone STRAIGHT to his head. He doesn’t see his fuck ups after all or his weaknesses because he always is justified on the team because he’s the one who can actually work the gadgets they need. He does need one proper kick in the ass to get his head on straight but he’s young and pride and ego are all too common for kids.

Vander might have one of the best introductions I’ve ever seen. “Don’t threaten the one who poors the drinks” is such a great line and honestly, the whole exchange is incredible. He is never actually nice to the traders beyond asking if they need anything but the VA does an incredible job delivering threats and joking barbs in such a way that it takes a while for you to realize just how upset he is with these two. When he says “You’ll get used to it” is when the sweetness drops as he makes it clear that this is how it works. You either leave or... get used to it.

It only gets more interesting though as we see him with the kids and especially Vi. You can see the contrast of the man who lived a life that led to him wearing iron gauntlets and beating an enforcer’s face in and the change required for him to now have a family and run the lanes as its boss. He’s not exactly a criminal lord but he can’t live by our sort of morality. The sort of morality that says one blown up building is enough to start a crusade, but he also can’t be so cutthroat as to sell out his own kind, especially his own kin.

A lot of others get good moments, like us learning Ekko is inventive and smart, or just the incredible impression that the villain leaves in his limited time, but nothing I can say too much of at the moment. I do love the fact that even accidental information does push the villain to show sympathy... But only with veiled sympathy. It’s a good way to show the act he might put up to get people to be loyal to him but also the wheels within wheels that he’s turning so as to be ready for whatever is to come.

Our Champions

Just the one shot of them overlooking the Lanes would tell you that these are your main characters: Powder and Vi. Even if you don’t know they’re Legends, you could tell these two and their relationship is going to be a major part of this, though the theme song does spoil that some too, at least once the timeskip that is to come happens.

The two simply have both too distinct of designs and too much importance to each other while not having any of the death flags someone like Vander might (though to its credit, I actually don’t know if Vander is about to bite it and the show hasn’t been too blunt on if that will or won’t happen.) With that said, anyone who thought Powder was the innocent set up to die... I wouldn’t blame them.

Powder is not bad but she suffers from writing that happens a lot with younger characters. Because she is less skilled and able than the rest, the episode centers a LOOOOT of what’s happening with her around that conflict. Pretty much all of the dialogue with her is about how she has a lot of growing left to do before she’s on par with those older than her. It could get a little tedious but I found it mostly fine but that has to do a lot more with Vi and Powder together than Powder by herself.

Not to say Powder doesn’t do right by herself regardless. Her inventiveness is well documented, her frustrations with those inventions but also her love for them is too. One can easily note that when she talks about them not working, she doesn’t discard them or even stop making them. It implies that she blames herself, not her tools which is VERY dangerous for an inventor that young because it means one of the biggest hurdles to learning is gone already. It effectively guarantees that she’ll only get better because she’s ready to get better.

She contrasts well as a more innocent figure though because while she’s willing to effectively make a grenade, it’s only when push comes to shove. It’s not her first instinct and you could absolutely imagine a different timeline where she grows up in a place less violent and so her gadgets wouldn’t be geared towards violence. It’s also just good to show that it does take time in this world for the innocence in someone to be crushed. That it’s not so cruel and scary so as to make someone like her unable to function.

It does cause a bit of a manic pixie feeling from her but it’s reigned in well by the lack of energy she has. She’s still mostly quiet as someone who doesn’t fight or isn’t ready for danger needs to be ready to hide. Again, she contrasts well with almost every other character we see.

This is especially true with Vi. Vi doesn’t talk a lot without a point. She definitely has gang leader energy to her and not in a bad way. She is working to be like her adopted father someday where she’s ready to run everything. This is both in her gruff attitude and her fists... But also in the kindness she’s learned from Vander.

She has a well of kindness and wisdom that is beyond her years. Frankly, it’s easy to see why the other kids look up to her and it’s not just because she can kick ass. She has a confidence that is infectious so when she says she believes you’re ready, you think it too. She’s also able to connect and make her point clear, whether it be through kindness to her sister or roughness to the dumbass on her team.

She really does save the wallowing that could be with Powder. The fact that the two are genuinely open to each other stops a misunderstanding plot and let it actually lead to a really sweet moment about bad days that just hit so well. But... This isn’t her only side. The other side I connect all too well with as someone who got told he was mature for his age.

An anger. This belief that if you are more mature, so smart and so talented, that you ought to be better. Ought to be somewhere other than where you are. You shouldn’t have to deal with fools or scraps or watch the popular kids get to break the rules that always feel so suffocating to you. That anger is starting to form in Vi and it could easily get out of control.

It actually makes a fun parallel to the angry enforcer who gets in Vander’s face. That man very much so looks at the people here, people he sees as skirting the rules and hurting others, and wants an excuse to do something about it. Meanwhile, Vi sees the topsiders ignoring their plight, feigned ignorance making them as culpable to their problems as if they were punching them in the face themselves and wants to do something about it. Wants to release that anger somehow. She doesn’t have the tools or smarts to do it yet though, which makes her sister’s potential all the scarier.

The Personality of Animation

The last thing I want to touch on is just the fact that the animation for this is SO GOOD. This is absolutely one of those shows where you could turn off the volume and still get much of the point of what’s going on. The expressions are incredible, from the big ticket emotions to subtle acting moments that would be hard for even the best actors to pull off and that is not easy for an animator to replicate. Just body language is incredibly on point though, like how Vi sits when Vander wants to talk. Literally the way she sits just screams “I know what you’re going to say so get it over with” because she doesn’t want this talk and thinks it’s going to be pointless because she’s a dumb tweenager who thinks she’s got the world figured out.

In general, EVERYTHING is dripping with personality like this. No two people do something in quite the same way. There is so much care and attention to detail that you really only get with movie animation nowadays, and not even every movie, even from big studios. Not all of them are paying this much attention. A lot of the personality I got the characters came from design and actions and what you can just read on their face and it’s just really impressive.

The fact that it’s BEAUTIFUL while doing this is just the cherry on top. It’s also more grounded and more adult than most kid’s shows in its writing and animation without losing the fun of animation. Honestly, and I know some might disagree with me on this, I’d love it if people took this as a sign that you don’t have to be boring in order to be more adult when it comes to animation. I see trailers for shows like “Fired on Mars” and sure, it looks like it could be fun... But it also LOOKS boring as hell. Like yep, I sure have seen this sort of stiff adult animation a bunch of times.

The fact that Arcane is so ALIVE with its animation is a just a fucking treat, though part of that is absolutely because Riot has the money to back this thing up. They’re not making these as cash grabs so they’re going to make sure that if everything else fails, the animation doesn’t.

And man... They’ve had well over a decade to refine these characters, regions, world, concepts, etc. and I’m really happy that despite their genre of games not demanding it, they don’t seem to have been sitting on their hands. You can tell this is the sort of project that can only be realized so well by having both confidence and polish that takes just a lot, and I mean a LOOOT of time.

And frankly, I feel a bit bad that I hadn’t given it my own time sooner. Hopefully it keeps ticking on as strongly as this first forty minutes.

Billboard USA Exclusion Zone Episode 13 (05/27/2023)

You know, I thought that I will be overwhelmed by this week. I mean we got Eurovision this week and just how massive the first two Eurovision was in this decade. So color me surprised that we didn't get an onslaught of Eurovision songs. Though some of them might have to do with them have debuted before so I have talked about it (check it out in my bio). But this means that it made this week manageable at least.

11. "Acrostico" by Shakira

Actually we won't be starting with an Eurovision song, instead we have a heartfelt ballad from Shakira and her kids. I'm so glad that this song exist. Not only because she's making music again on her own, but also as a healing process from her divorce.

13. "Cha Cha Cha" by Kaarija

From heartfelt to the downright batshit insane. This is basically the Zitti e Buono of 2023 but it didn't win the whole thing which is a robbery. It would've been great if Finnish language actually existed.

29. "Queen of Kings" by Alessandra

This is basically just what happened when you mixed Billie Eilish with pirate theme music soundtracking your local League of Legends tournament.

37. "The Planet" by BTS

Seems like BTS saw the success of Arcane and Imagine Dragon and thought "yes this soundtracking animated movie will turned out well". And it's as expected as what "BTS soundtracking animated film" would sound like.

46. "All My Life" by Lil Durk ft. J Cole

I'm of two minds about this song. On one hand, the subject matter here is just perfect where both Durk and Cole talking about a lot of systemic issues during the come up with interesting details. Durk referencing how stimulus check works in his environment and how he's trying to better himself which is a plus in my opinion. While Cole in the middle of talking about his legacy, talk about how the media talked and hyperfocusing on rapper's death and how people weren't paying attention to them before it's too late. On the other hand, this beat is kinda suck. One thing that I've learned over the years is that Dr. Luke shouldn't producing trap rap song. Like seriously just some keys, trap drums, and sub bass? Also we don't need to bring back child choir again. I guess we'll see if this song will grew on me, but right not it's just on the upper side of decent.

81. "Queencard" by (G)I-DLE

Ahhh yes this is the Kpop shit I love. Garrish, a lot of personalities with no substance, and ridiculous. It's the same reason why I love HIP by MAMAMOO and while this song is slightly worse, I can't deny the groove here.

142. "Dog Days Are Over" by Florence + The Machine

Finally my critical card has been upgraded since I'm reviewing a Florence + The Machine stuff! Well anyways this song is definitely a perfect send off (or in this case dance off) to a movie franchise.

153. "Unicorn" by Noa Kirel

First off Free Palestine. Secondly, I think if you want to justify your inclusion in the Eurovision Israel, you should just remake Toy for the rest of your country's life because this ain't it.

168. "Cartao Black" by MC Caverinha e KayBlack

Seems like dreary trap banger will be universal even in different language. Also seems like I need to learn more Portuguese and Spanish more because I can at least marginally pronounced the words.

175. "Soweto" by Victony, Rema & Tempoe ft. Don Toliver

It's kinda mad that this is the first time I talked about afrobeat song in my review series even though I really love it. I think everything about Afrobeat I love so I might be biased here but man the guitar and that drum is just heavenly. Also Don Toliver is actually perfect in afrobeat it's insane.

192. "Danza Kuduro" by Don Omar & Lucenzo

How the hell does this song didn't debut during the world cup? This song is basically a jock jam for me.

193. "Abcdario" by Eden Munoz X Junior H

...it's fine

199. "Life Goes On" by Ed Sheeran ft. Luke Combs

I have a lot of contender of best songs of 2023, but we have another contender here. As someone who also lost a friend and during the pandemic even, I can feel the emotion here unlike say Eyes Closed. The Arcane Review

I have not used this account in a long time but I feel like I need to yap a bit after Season 2.

Season 1, keeping it short and brief cause I don't have any real issues with it or anything. The animation and art style used in Arcane is beautiful and such, love that, very appealing to my eyes. The music used is......well it makes you remember this is based on LoL at least...I liked the intro song used and simply tolerated like 70 to 80% of the other music. I stayed firmly on the side of Zaunites throughout my S1 watch especially and barely cared for the Pilties except for maybe Mel but it was more of in a "why are you with a man who looks like he uses 7 in 1 body wash instead of your secretary who looks like she wants you" and the "your mom genuinely fucking sucks" sorta way. On the topic of Ambessa though, I CAN understand why people think she's hot but like I can't get over the whole warlord and genocider thing but anyways. I liked the first season, the pacing seemed great to me I thoroughly enjoyed it even though it has basically zero rewatchability for me.

Now Season 2, I actually have a lot to say about it since its fresher on my brain.

Dawg........Season 2 was kinda shit.....it makes sense why Fallout won over Arcane(even tho I think that it was a very missed opportunity NOT to have Maybe play when the bombs started dropping in Fallout the show) this time at the game awards(aside from S2 of Arcane JUST wrapping up close to the end of November) The pacing and writing felt off and everything felt incredibely rushed and I don't get it? They're making another Arcane series anyways so I dont get why they could have had three seasons instead of trying to mesh together two acts in one 8 episode season? Whoever made it standard that seasons for shows should be 13 episodes or less instead of at least 20, your mom's a hoe‼️

I'm gonna be real for a moment and say I was purely here for more Sevika content that was promised and they FUCKING LIED!! My wife don't even say a singular word in Act 3 aside from "GRAAHHH" LIKE WHAT. Like we still know basically absolutely nothing about her even though she was Silco's right hand and had to take care of Jinx and Isha.

And then the stuff with Cait??? Is just not really addressed???? Cause she went full on dictator and shit after her mom's funeral. That was all her own choice and I don't know why people keep saying "it's because of Ambessa" even though Ambessa literally hadn't even spoken to her yet during her initial crash out, the scuffed shit she was doing to Zaun citizens and pointing a gun at a literal child??? Cait made those decisions literally on her own dude.

Another thing bothering me that was just never addressed is how Ambessa literally had hired those Zaun people with the full intention of no one stopping them from assassinating Mel, HER DAUGHTER. Unless that was something her right hand staged without her knowing???? We don't know because that shit was never addressed afterwards and we can only assume that Mel learn that her mom or her mom's right hand was about to get her killed to make it seem like all of Zaun was evil either.

And the thing with Viktor was...something...he turned into Jesus and started going a bit crazy with power. My main thing with him is that...he is from Zaun, right? So wouldn't he know who Vander and/or Silco are in some way even if he only spent his childhood there?

And then there's the lesbian sex scene which I feel was just..........terribly placed.....? And the writing surrounding what leads up to it is weird too....? Throughout the entirety of Season 2, Cait....I literally like her less than I did in S1 cause she literally called Vi "one of the good ones" in S2 and that was fucking crazy. But Cait has had like zero sympathy of any kind for Jinx, even when Jinx was like super clearly wracked from trauma and grief from seeing, Isha, a child, a child that was in her care, die in front of her. Like I'm pretty sure Vi and Cait also witnessed that too....and the aftermath so you'd think she'd be at least a little bit sympathetic but no???? Unless I missed something????

Then afterwards when Vi arrives and does try to talk to Jinx about what happened, clearly it's still a fresh wound and she does NOT wanna talk about it due to how painful it is so she lashes out and locks Vi in the cell, and very clearly eludes that she's gonna go off and kill herself and no one is gonna stop her. And then sometime after that, Cait comes by and unlocks the cell and Vi is like "she really hasn't changed..." and its like huh?????? You JUST basically heard her say she'd gonna go off herself and THAT was your conclusion??? Even after the time you got to spend with her prior to the event inadvertently caused by Jayce??? Then Cait just kinda shit talks about Jinx to Vi and trying to reaffirm that "yeah girl! She hasnt changed and I told you so!" in between the comfort and then they start kissing and fucking in the jail cell Jinx had spent days starving herself and wallowing in her own grief and sorrows in.

I'm sorry but was that supposed to get my clit perking up????? Cause it didnt.

And then there's the Black Rose plot, which was just confusing and proves that Act 2 and 3 should've been their own seasons cause it just made everything even more messy and kind of hard to keep up with. Like...???? Question marks was all that was really cause it just provided more questions than there already were.

I thought the fish guy would be of importance cause of how many shots he was getting, the whole thing with Maddie, and that guy Vi was hanging out with that was giving Vander vibes, hell I even thought that one Jinxer would've been important in some way cause she got a few shots too. But nah, all of them just die with little to no fanfare except fish guy whose name was Stev or something, I dunno.

And then the montages were....also annoying to say the least? It seemed like more of an excuse to make a mini music video really.

Did I watch Season 2 all the way through? Yeah. At times it felt like a chore to actually get through it, but yeah.

But did I walk out of it perplexed? Also yes!

I rate season 2 like a 7.5/10

S1 gets like a 9/10

What a fearsome, gruesome, and awesome foe. Obviously I gotta award the Shade Mother favorite/best mini of the ep. What really strikes me about this totally custom resin printed Critical Role design is the stark contrast between the spindly torso and the rest of the bulky form. Very effective in instilling unease and fear in the players (and the audience).

Rip the Shade Mother’s fourth arm. Alas, resin printed models tend to be a tad delicate. Should be an easy fix though. In my experience, resin models break pretty cleanly. Just a bit of glue and she’ll be in fighting shape for the next boss battle.

A Green Seeker not wearing green? This is an outrage! Worst miniature of the episode by far. haha, I joke of course, I’m actually very fond of this DDM sculpt. I just sorta picked this miniature because I’ve reviewed most of the other episode miniatures in previous blog posts. And I wanted to talk about this one. Though I have not reviewed this mini in the past, it has appeared in a past CR episode and can be seen in the background of C2E1.

What I really like about the Red Hand War Sorcerer miniature is that the pose concept is very boring and yet it looks so good. It’s a very epic and dramatic take on “spellcaster holds up staff”. My compliments to the sculptor. Lots of rich details, including a rad goatee and pair of bushy eyebrows, all the better for Green Seekin’ (+2 eyebrow perception bonus for sure).

What are these creatures called? Husks? They seem like a couple of husk-like dudes. idk- Anyway, these two minis were used in the C2E67 zombie horde. Not especially good models, but interestingly, these two undead are dressed almost identically. These two have better branding than the Green Seeker minis, good on ‘em! 

Closing Thoughts

I so enjoy player interactions with terrain. Orym using the mining machinery to knock over the big rock pillar was outstanding! Hope to see more of this terrain-based-tomfoolery in future episodes.

I do think that Jinx and Viktor would be able to collaborate on scientific projects just that the only barrier would be her untidiness and her psychosis. It would make Viktor lose focus and also make him think she is unwilling to work with others. Not that he also has a hard time working with others but I would love and AU where she was discovered or things started looking up for the little boom crew they had in the lanes and decided to hone her skills at the Academy and Viktor was very involved in the school and helps her with her thesis project.

That or some sort of Dexter’s Lab dynamic between them would be hilarious

Arcane Act 3

I’M FUCKING SEETHING WITH RAGE ON HOW THE;Y JUST FUCKING EDGED US ALL LIKE THAT. FUCK YOU RIOT GOT DAMMIT. 

On one hand I really want to acknowledge what a literal bombshell of a cliffhanger that was but mother fucker.... that wasn’t as satisfying as it was aggravating.

I’m fucking bawling about Jinx AGAIN which I didn’t think i’d do and that last episode, this last arc, was pretty fucking good i’m not going to lie. Jesus fucking christ thought I just can’t get over that bs. That’s not an ending. Fuck

We see Vanderwick which is awesome, jayce and viktor both have blood on their hands but what in the actual fuck is going to happen? The story is about Jinx. Her rise to her new and deranged self and her journey is fucking flawless. Best character in the show. Tier two goes to Vi/Cait. Then we get Jayce/Vik and god dammit their arcs were honestly just starting to get interesting.

Now I’m going to have to wait so long to get relief. Fuck me and fuck this.

Everyone’s talking about their hopes for C3, and I think I wanna throw my hat into the ring before the stream starts tonight.

I hope C3 stands on its own- I hope we go a good ten episodes before any member of the cast even mentions the last campaign. I hope C3 is as self-contained as an open world game can be. I hope we explore entirely new characters and entirely new places. I hope we get thirty or forty episodes in, and some NPC mentions a powerful arcane practitioner that’s come to town, and implies they’re some kind of wizard. I hope there’s a two week break before the next episode. I hope the fandom goes nuts, theorizing that it might be Essek or Allura. I hope we have to wait yet another week before the party meets them. I hope the fandom is completely divided on wether it’ll be Essek or Allura. I hope the party goes to meet this high level wizard, to ask their help in their quest. I hope they open the door and Matt describes Artagan in a floppy wizard hat.
