okay I have to write this down before I forget

let's do some math here

ARCANE AGES

What we know at the beginning of the series:

Jinx: Approximately 11 or 12 years old

Vi: Around 14-16 years old

Ekko: Stated to be around 12-13 years old

Cait: When she's introduced she's about 15/16

Mel: 26 during Act I

Jayce: Stated on the Wiki that he is 24

Vik: The in-between (25 lol)

Act II of Season 1: 7 years has gone by

Jinx: 11/12 plus 7, this makes her around 18/19

Vi: 14-16 plus 7, about 21-23

Ekko: 12/13 plus 7, he would be 19/20

Cait: 15/16 plus 7, she's 22/23 (I like the idea of Cait being older than Vi)

Mel: Would be 33 if I can do basic math

Jayce: 31 (more basic math)

Vik: 32 (these three are the easiest to math)

Their ages remain the same throughout Act III and Act I of Season 2. The time skip between Act I and Act II of Season 2 is months. So, if we were to assume people had birthdays, we would simply age them by 1.

Jinx: 19/20

Vi: 22-24

Ekko: 20/21

Cait: 23/24

Mel: 34

Jayce: 32 (more like 55 💀)

Vik: 33

Additional character ages (as of Act II Season 2, or at time of death)

Isha: We don't have an exact age, but judging by her appearance, we can assume she is between 8 and 11.

Sevika: Between 39-41 as of Season 2

Vander: Between 41 and 46, however I'm not entirely sure if Warwick ages the same

Silco: 43-46 at time of death

Sky: ~31 at time of death

Singed: Over the age of 70 according to the Wiki

Ambessa: 60ish years of age

Heimerdinger: As of Act II Season 2, he's roughly 315

jinx from arcane is SOO age regressor coded it's actually insaneeee... like... are y'all seeing this.... the childhood trauma and the way it haunts every part of her character, how childish she is, her breakdowns, the toys in her hideout, etc etc... the way her model LITERALLY has an animation rig to subtly make her face more soft and childish when she mentally reverts to her younger self... i could literally ramble about this forever DO YOU GUYS SEE MY VISION...

It really isn't conjecture when I say Viktor and Ekko will be enemies next season, or at least a one-sided animosity on Ekko's part. EKko's original devs/writers confirmed that dynamic years back in an AMA for Ekko's champion debut.

The AMA is pretty old (old enough to be archived), but it's filled with really interesting insight on the development of Ekko's story, character traits, and relationship dynamics you couldn't get in the crumbs of official lore Riot released for him.

oh captain my captain i didn't know what league of legends game was when i watched arcane. so i thought the plot was alright since i didn't (still don't) know the game lore. if it wasn't basically a prequel story, trying to aim the characters at the way they are in canon, do u think the plot and character arcs would have held up alright? or does that actually make the arcane canon story worse since it wouldn't at least have the existing canon as something it needed to land at eventually as an excuse for any "out of character" decisions? thank u

i wouldnt even call it a prequel story? its like a very elaborate au in a sense, one that feels comfortable changing things to a certain extent- clothes, personality adjustments, motivations, but they still have to hit certain beats. vi has to be an enforcer, jinx has to be a wild card harley quinn type, ekkos time powers ect ect. idk WHAT it is maybe the show needed more time or tighter focus or less characters but i just felt that like, some of the story decisions directly relating to LoL lore werent outright bad but didnt have a lot of time to breathe. the standout example being ekkos time thing, where when i watched that scene i assumed it was both a stylistic representation of a fight and establishing his and jinx's prior relationship (which is kind of too little too late considering they did not fucking speak once as kids pre time skip), and then i had to get a friend to explain to me for SEVERAL MINUTES that he literally died during that fight and it was supposed to be showing his rewind thing. it just wasnt clear at all and his character would not change in the slightest if he didnt have it. but you cant NOT include it so. *

really i have no clue the full extent of the story the writers wanted to tell and how much LoL is binding their hands on story beats. and i REALLY dont want to be inflexible considering i still have a full season coming up that might make me more receptive to certain decisions. but considering how much of the cast i REALLY like just straight up are not in the game, i think they are fully capable of making a solid story completely divorced from league
