ARCANE AGES

What we know at the beginning of the series:

Jinx: Approximately 11 or 12 years old

Vi: Around 14-16 years old

Ekko: Stated to be around 12-13 years old

Cait: When she's introduced she's about 15/16

Mel: 26 during Act I

Jayce: Stated on the Wiki that he is 24

Vik: The in-between (25 lol)

Act II of Season 1: 7 years has gone by

Jinx: 11/12 plus 7, this makes her around 18/19

Vi: 14-16 plus 7, about 21-23

Ekko: 12/13 plus 7, he would be 19/20

Cait: 15/16 plus 7, she's 22/23 (I like the idea of Cait being older than Vi)

Mel: Would be 33 if I can do basic math

Jayce: 31 (more basic math)

Vik: 32 (these three are the easiest to math)

Their ages remain the same throughout Act III and Act I of Season 2. The time skip between Act I and Act II of Season 2 is months. So, if we were to assume people had birthdays, we would simply age them by 1.

Jinx: 19/20

Vi: 22-24

Ekko: 20/21

Cait: 23/24

Mel: 34

Jayce: 32 (more like 55 💀)

Vik: 33

Additional character ages (as of Act II Season 2, or at time of death)

Isha: We don't have an exact age, but judging by her appearance, we can assume she is between 8 and 11.

Sevika: Between 39-41 as of Season 2

Vander: Between 41 and 46, however I'm not entirely sure if Warwick ages the same

Silco: 43-46 at time of death

Sky: ~31 at time of death

Singed: Over the age of 70 according to the Wiki

Ambessa: 60ish years of age

Heimerdinger: As of Act II Season 2, he's roughly 315

I do portraits in three formats - bust, waist-length and then full-length. They can be various in styling, therefore please pay close attention to the difference in the execution of these formats: - The busts are always more detailed in the character's features. - The atmosphere is more consistent in waist-length paintings. - Full-length drawings are well suited to demonstrate clothing design or particular scene.

Cost of more complex and expressive pieces and backgrounds are increased by tipping after full painting was completed, which I express as an deeply loyal and tactful system - it is absolutely voluntary and happens only at the end of the project, so you have ability to define their cost to your feelings and abilities and nothing over that<зз

I adore to experiment with styles and learn new tones of this craft - as each meeting is a start of something beautiful, and I desire to create art that is complex and multifaced, but to an important extend I should say that I do not feel comfortable to copy or imitate other's styles of execution and sensuality, and a lot of expressions and detailing in my work are sudden and stands in variability - art is an journey and yet I would love to share this journey with you;з

How do we work on an order?

After I discuss the content of the painting with you and receive additional materials (photo of the person that is drawn, or references that are close to what you would like to see in particularly), I start creating the first sketch.

In accordance with the request, I make a sketch of the future painting, which will contain all its important elements and an approximate color scheme that we will use. At this stage, you can freely make your amendments, and when the content suits you, I will ask you for an advance payment of half the cost of the work without additional prices of background or detailing.

After that, work on the portrait will begin. Its duration varies on several factors - to a greater extent on the volume and complexity of the work itself, as well as on my own workload with other projects.

After completing the portrait, I will send you its version in lowered quality - after you familiarize yourself with it (there is also possible some edits - of tones and colors, elements of shading, character's features and general small details), and after you pay the rest of the amount you shall receive the final result of our artwork! ~

It actually makes me sick how good some of the Green Lanterns’ rogue gallery is. Here’s a fascist dictator who criticizes the way the Guardians run things but acts exactly like them down to the unilateral leadership; he represents the worst of cops, but sometimes his iffy methods at least seem to be genuinely more effective than the Green Lanterns’, which force them to have moral conundrums about the way they do things. Here’s a victim of genocide who has been sucked into the cycle of violence and shows that being a victim doesn’t inoculate you against being an abuser, and he has a cat whom he loves very much. And here, before the Guardians created the Corps to police the universe, they first created a bunch of androids who believe that emotions are the root of evil, and despite them committing mass genocide, the Guardians still believed that emotions get in the way of everything (the raging hypocrites). Here is the embodiment of Death itself, and the only way to defeat him is to have the entire emotional spectrum working together, and despite all of their flaws and rivalries and sordid history, emotions come together to make Life.

By the way, did we ever talk about how stupid it is that they made Silco the reason Felicia died? I don't mean that he killed her personally, but that he jumpstarted violence on a peaceful protest. Because that's sooo who Silco is, right? A character who makes impulsive and poorly thought out decisions, right? A character who goes into a fight headstrong without carefully planning his moves and strategy and just YOLO-ing it, right? Right?? ......sigh

And don't even THINK about giving me the whole "wElL hE cHaNgEd SiNcE tHeN dUh" crap. Even s2 is smart enough to show us him writing something in a notebook in a flashback, which implies that he was the brains behind the Lanes' creation/revolution as a whole. And if he was he would never sabotage his own plans with something so stupid as throwing a single molotov at enforcers. Literally who does that???? Silco we know would probably organize an attack under the guise of a peaceful protest, but not just. Straight-up ruining just a regular peaceful protest. That's stupid. And Silco is the last character in arcane that would do something stupid. Literally the whole plot of season 1 relies on him being intelligent and sneaky with his plans are you kidding me.

Unpopular opinion :/

But, imo, by making Silco more 'Jinx-adjacent' in S2 and in the artbook, they ended up making him TOO pretty. And prettiness is not supposed to be the point of Silco's character. It's meant to be about inadequacy, about a meteor-sized chip on the shoulder, about never having enough to go around and always feeling as if the system is rigged against you.

I do adore how attractive young Silco is in S2 and all the attention it's getting his character. But I also can't help but feel they yassified him for palatability's sake - in every sense - and kinda robbed the character of the bite and bitterness that made him such an intriguing revolutionary type villain in the first place.

This is probably only important to me, but I'm gonna be honest I really think alternate timeline Powder also has schizophrenia, just like Jinx does.

Obviously there's no concrete evidence of this, but not only does Powder have a doll of Vi that she talks to, just like Jinx has (or had I guess) dolls of Mylo and Claggor, it's also implied that Powder's hallucinations started at a very early age, before she was Jinx. The first hallucination we see in the entire show is during the bridge scene. There's a brief scribble of an angry face that appears over an enforcer's mask.

The "monsters" that Vi protected Powder from might've very well been her hallucinations, and no one realized it was anything more than childhood fears.

So if her schizophrenia manifested before she was even Jinx, and she still went through an extreme trauma (even if it's not the same one Jinx does), there's no reason why Powder wouldn't be schizophrenic as well. It's just that she's in a much healthier environment and has a way better support system than she does in the main timeline.

age regression! ngl i really feel that a ship has made it when the fandom starts producing all the good old fashioned trope fics. and what a lovely example this is!! young viktor is so vibrant and jayce is so caring and earnest and tries his best. angsty, cute, emotional -- in certain scenes there's so much love between jayce and viktor, waahh -- plus i really enjoy the prose and narrative voice in this. reading it was a blast.
