If any Yang fans are disappointed with the direction her character has gone from caring about her sister to only checking in with her sis every once in a while and then proceeds to ignore her so she can kiss her girlfriend that she compares to a literal animal, I’d recommend Ninjago if you wanna see a character with fire powers that actually gives a damn about his sister even when he gets a girlfriend

Gonna go a bit off topic but really, its not that hard to find other media or shows that are better written than rwby.

I'm not going to pretend Rwby was ever amazing but my god, current Rwby is so...lazy.

It's funny how the stans go absolutely bat shit insane defending this show tooth and nail but the two people who were there for the show's conception, and helmed this titanic like ship ride for a decade are very clearly burnt out on the series. Yeah, there are those like Troche, the odd animator or character designer who clearly love this series to death and pour their all into it. But the people at the top, the people who helped create the show and the ones who have total control over Rwby do not care. The passion from the upper echelons of "Crwby" (but really Roosterteeth z-list internet celebs) is all but burnt out. Rwby is just a cash cow at this point. The nihilism and lack of love can be seen in the merch, in the commentary tracks, and right in the show's writing.

I just binged watched the entirety of the Hunger Games yesterday, and compared to Rwby's copaganda, its leagues better in exploring civil rights and slavery. I praised Final Fantasy XVI for allowing Clive to beat the shit out of slave owners. Hell, both Arcane and Final Fantasy do a better job of writing a close sibling dynamic.

Its such the bare minimum that Rwby fails to meet time and time again not because of incompetence (they had 10 years and so much leniency from the fans and they wasted them) but because of complacency and laziness.

Rwby just the lifeline keeping Roosterteeth afloat. As long as deranged fans or hypocritical fans keep giving Roosterteeth money for half-assed merch with slapped on concept art and funding their kickstarters, why should Kerry Shawcross care to put in the effort to write a compelling story. Him and Miles don't even like these characters and struggle with their overcomplicated world building and character bloat. The honeymoon period of Rwby is over of them. They've cracked under the weight of Rwby's success.
