I better do something, move earth and sky And patiently, sweetly, with all of my might I sing only for you To the beat of my footsteps in the night Close your eyes and dream me home Forever mine, I'll be forever yours Always, evermore, and on and on Always, evermore

we are both of the same people
I really love the early conversation between Lavellan and Solas at Haven in which he speaks bitterly about the Dalish and she responds in elven.
For me this follows on naturally from the exchange in the prologue where Lavellan says 'We are both of the same people, Solas,' and he responds 'The Dalish I met felt differently on the subject.' The way I read it, Lavellan heard what he said here, inferred that Solas felt rejected by the Dalish, and understood that his anger comes ultimately from a place of hurt.
By responding in elven, she is reinforcing that she does see them as being of the same people. Rather than responding in anger, she extends empathy toward him and reaches out in a way that is intended to address his feelings of rejection. By using the elven language, she is very specifically choosing to recognise him as part of the community of elves.
For me, this is the moment when he starts to develop feelings for her. Because she may not understand the exact circumstances of his rejection, but she has nonetheless seen him and understood him in a really deep way, and she has chosen empathy when she could easily have chosen anger. It's a long time since he has experienced anything like that, and he must be profoundly moved. Just a beautiful little moment in the development of their relationship.

We are of this world, and as with any piece that seeks to leave its element, there is a void when we abandon the mortal.
