GAR Goth Night at 79's

Sorry for the wait vode, I've been at 79's for a while, but.. Well, I got distracted by the ARC trooper at the bar, you see..

IT'S FINALLY DONE I didn't keep track of the hours I've put into this, but it's A LOT and I'm gonna post it now because when I keep looking at it, I keep seeing things I want to add/edit. FOLKS I DID A BACKGROUND THAT ISN'T QUICK AND SILLY I know it's not perfect but I've never done anything like this before, this is like my magnum opus of backgrounds and IT WAS ACTUALLY FUN TO CREATE?!?

This is my first art for the AMAZING GAR Goth Night theme that has been going around Tumblr lately, thanks to @ghostymarni ! She helped me pick an outfit for Lupe by sketching a few options. I've combined some elements from those sketches, and it's completely inspired by clothes I currenlty own, have owned in the past or would like to own one day. Fives' (aka Dives during his hours as 79's bouncer) outfit was also inspired by @ghostymarni 's work, see this and this. I also FINALLY designed Lupe's lightsaber for this pic, whaaaat?!? (That's gonna get it's own seperate post later)

I am so happy how this turned out! One of my goals for this year was to start drawing backgrounds, and although I need a lot more practicing, I am so happy about how this turned out! So excited to see what the art future will bring! <3 But just to put the focus on this hot couple (I thought Fipes would be a fun shipname), here's the white background version:

Clone trooper headcanons because yes.

Dogma mumbles in his sleep. It's mostly just incoherent stuff with the occasional sentence. And he doesn't do it that often, but sometimes he'll just randomly say the craziest shit in his sleep.

Meanwhile Jesse sleep talks, like a lot. It can be very annoying and downright disturbing at times because he'll have full on conversations in the dead of night. Or he'll just say something really creepy out of nowhere and then won't say anything else for the rest of the night.

Rex and Kix are both extremely light sleepers and are the ones usually the most affected by Jesse's sleep talking. If it's a particularly bad night for his sleep talking Kix sleeps in the medbay and Rex sleeps in his office.

Tup is the kind of person to fall asleep then wake up in a completely different position from when he fell asleep/he sleep walks which is either a bit of a problem when they're deployed or downright terrifying when in the barracks because you'll wake up and see this figure looming over you/in the corner of the room with long dark hair covering its face and it'll just stand there for a couple minutes before waking over to Tup's bunk, and then that's when you realize it was just Tup. The others have debated strapping him to his bunk on multiple occasions because of this. (When Tup first joined the Torrent company they legit thought he was possessed for a bit before finding out he just sleepwalks.)

Hardcase is possibly one of the heaviest sleepers In the entire GAR(and loudest snorer). It's literally impossible to wake this man up if he's in a deep sleep, like either you dump freezing water on him or you bag two pots together. And sometimes that doesn't even work.

And last but far from least, Fives and Echo. Echo is the kind of person who can't sleep unless he has a pillow between his thighs and/or he's cuddling something. However because they don't have many spare pillows, Echo solves this by cuddling with Fives. And because Fives likes to cuddle in his sleep this solution also works for him.
