Had a bunch of old succulent arrangements donated to the arboritum green house so now i get to deal with trying to clean them up or separating and repotting. Its extremely hard to keep them out of other volunteer's hands though! Even though i tell them they have to be cared for a certain way and NOT like normal plants they just don't listen to me.

When i got in today to deal with these we found the Kalanchoe tomentosa cuttings we did last week SOAKING in the perlite/vermiculite mix they use for propagating other plants. UGH.

Also here's a squirrel from near where we try to keep our propagating succulents (with a sign saying not to water and theyre not for sale and dont fucking touch them), and a cat that lives at our home depot. She has feline leukemia unfortunately. :(

Upon reflection this is totally an Arcade thing. We have a plant called toothache in our arboritum and theyre fun little buds that will numb your entire mouth if you chew on them long enough. Anyway, I can see Arcade having a few of these around and convincing newbies to try one, even going as far as chewing one himself if theyre hesitant so he can thoroughly enjoy watching their reactions to suddenly numb mouth.

This is a dining room in a home in the Society Hill section of Philadelphia. And while I do build realistic miniature rooms, this isn’t one of them. This is a life-sized room that I muraled in the historic 18th century Samuel Nieve House.

The room is staged with a dining set that’s a that’s a little too small for the room—but these are real estate photos taken while the house was for sale.

The inspiration for this mural is taken from the folio of prints found in ‘Birch’s Views of Early Philadelphia’. Each of the views are directly coinciding with the actual locations of those historic sites, which led me to realize that William Russell Birch (1755–1844) and his son Thomas Birch (1779–1851) must have been in roughly this same general location of this house, when they were sketching and documenting those sites.

The sites include Head House Square, Penn’s Landing, Dock Street and the Franklin Arboritum. The paneling on the Georgian fireplace is original. The waincott paneling is trompe l’oeil.
