It's the first time for me to present a visual of my OC before I have written ANYTHING, but here is. Meet medica Selima of Jerusalem, a self-made woman originally from Muslim Damascus, running her physician practice as an employee of the hospital of St Mary's.

Despite cultural and religious differences, she has earned some recognition among the good people of the Holy City and even became a personal medical consultant to the King Baldwin IV himself. She only has eyes for one knight, however, a humble blonde Crusader, sir Arnaud of the Knights Hospitaller 🤭

The original picture I partially traced belongs to JoelChaimHoltzman and can be found on DeviantArt (original character is also a part of Numenara RPG). I came across the picture on Pinterest and immediately understood I was looking at Selima. I am hoping to be able to just draw her at some point, but for now I need to get better at drawing in general 🙃 For example - I settled for drawing her after flipping the original, because for the life of mine I couldn't manage to draw the light from the right. Go figure.

I also now have A LOT of fun reference pictures for headdresses that I plan to try giving her in the future. Hopefully, even though my knowledge of her culture of origin is scarce, I won't make too many glaring mistakes in that selection.
