Bat stars — the ultimate arm wrestling champions of the sea! 🌊💪
Tumblr media
When these stars bump into each other, it's not just a friendly handshake, it's a 'gently intense' arm wrestling match! They become engaged in a slow-motion skirmish, striving to get the upper hand,  er, arm. Who knew stars could be so competitive? 🌟

Today’s daily ocean fact: moon jellyfish have four stomaches!
The four flower-petal shaped things in the photo below are the jellyfish’s stomaches. Unlike most jellyfish, their stingers are completely harmless to humans. This is why these jellyfish are commonly kept in aquariums!

We’re dancing in the moonlight! 🌙
Dancing beneath the waves, the gentle pulsations of moon jellies create a mystical show. Their translucent round bells and fine thread-like tentacles float elegantly through the deep blue sea. Even with no brains, bones, or teeth in sight, these celestial creatures are a supernatural delight.

If you’ve ever got the opportunity to spend a little time admiring jellyfish, you’d best take it. They’re soothing, little immortals with their mindless movements and serene colors. You’re particularly lucky if you get to see them with colorful lights 🪼
This particular bunch are moon jellies at the Seattle Aquarium’s Ring of Life exhibit.
