you cannot tell me they are not the perfect word for a kitty cat. they came up to us and introduced themselves, so we decided to call them by the name they call themselves, and in mandarin, we call them "little māo" because they are our little meow meows!! they are our babies!!

also chinese is Ancient. our writing system goes back like 4000 years!! and we are still using it! i admit we probably weren't calling them 貓 for all these 4000 years but respect your elders! /lh

I am writing for another writing consultation on the TTXover: how are the T0ons in T0ontown depicted in appearance? I mean, in-game, there are naturally... some sort of humanoid animal creature, but in-universe, are they more akin to what the MCRP fandoms call "Hybrids"? I dunno, because having a shift in appearance... for the fic... it is going to be... a lot to take in. And I'll have to tweak the drafts a bit to reflect that, but it has pretty good narrative shift symbolism. Any thoughts?

To people outside of the Toon's world I think Toons would lean more towards the 'hybrid' category purely based on how they look visually, definitely closer to side Antfrost and Fundy are on as like full on anthro animal people- just more... well 'cartoony' with their big eyes and gloves- not to mention that duck toons don't even have flippers and horse toons don't have hooves either- they'd be considered hybrids but definitely on the 'weirder' side. I'm not sure if you'll keep those aspects in your fic though- I guess it depends on how much of those 'toony' qualities you'll keep in your interpretation.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean with the shift stuff here but I'm excited to see what you've come up with once it's done ^_^

on this post: dw i watched the scene live on scott's pov and i still have no idea where that came from either. the only context i have and remember: scott and acho (mainly as creators) were joke bullying apo (long story) > scott goes down to the bounty hall to place a hit on apo (i genuinely don't know why except maybe it is a bit) > apo is waiting at the exit somehow having allegedly kicked out the npc that lived there > this scene.

Amazing. They're so silly sometimes, I love it.

Also, about the placing a hit thing, that's just how Scott is. My man is full on just a trickster. He thrives on chaos and he will do something if it's funny enough to him.

I am probably just spending half of today watching T0ontown playthroughs to get a better sense of the worldbuilding LOL - mainly the boss battles for now as of writing this

I've also noticed in cc!Quackity's playthroughs that the gag track he uses the least, aside from Trap (which he's explicitly said that he dislikes) is Toon-Up. I've been wondering for a while if his play-style as a content creator might imply anything about his DSMP characterization... lots to think about

That is interesting to think about, trap and toon-up (and I guess lure as well by association) definitely fall more into like the 'teamwork' side when it comes to gags- trap in particular. You either have to spend a turn setting up a trap and then luring or work with someone to make it work- maybe it implies our boy is rather independent- at least when it comes to things like fighting, and likes getting things done as directly and efficiently as possible- or maybe it's a self-sufficient sort of thing, not trusting the others enough to rely on them and not helping them out as much with any healing gags since he isn't that close to them. I think that second one might fit better since c!Q is very personally protective of those he loves but definitely not as much to people he isn't close to.

Also this isn't super related to the question but I just remembered that one of the gags in the Toon-up line is telling a joke and it reminded me of that one time c!Q told a joke to c!Slime and idk connecting those two dots is making me soft ;u;

LGBT headcanons: Stampy and the old helpers

Stampy: He is probably bi but leans towards men. This is because his character never really seems to express any romantic interest in any of the female characters within the series[despite being in a relationship with Squaishey in real life]. However, he has kissed Lee in the Pumpkin Child episode and was perfectly fine with being kissed by him[aside from a bit of joking about it]. He has also kissed Squid in the Wonder Quest series, but due to that being owned by Disney, I am not sure how canon this is.

Lee: he is also bi, since he has kissed Stampy in the Pumpkin Child episode, but in the Wishing Well episode, he wished for a girlfriend[who proceeds to never appear again after the well is sealed up]. Plus I'm like 99% sure he has a crush on Stampy.

Squid: He's most likely gay because of the fact that he kissed Stampy in Wonder Quest. However, I could be a little biased because of a previous ship related to him, so take this headcanon with a grain of salt. Plus the idea of the kracken being gay is something silly I like to think of.

Squaishey: I have no LGBT headcanons for her. I mostly view her as being straight and cis, since she's married to Stampy in real life. Maybe it's possible that she's bi but mostly attracted to the opposite gender because she shares an actor with Polly [who I see as lesbian], plus I remembered hearing that she was bi but i'm not sure how accurate that is. Otherwise, I can't come up with any reasoning for anything else. I will update this headcanon if it is outright stated that she is bi or I can get a reliable source.

I will say my ideas for the new helpers and villains in separate posts, but my reasoning for them might not be as thorough as the old helpers.
