Happy birthday to April Orenski!

Today is her -484th birthday!

As the daughter of two high-ranking UNSC officials, it was only natural that Orenski would enlist herself, enrolling the Corbulo Academy of Military Science as part of the class of 2526. During her last year, she was assigned as a squad commander of her underclassmen. She was responsible for Hastati squad, which notably included Thomas Lasky.

Because the events of Harvest, her home planet, were still kept closely under wraps by the UNSC, Orenski and the rest of Corbulo Academy were taken by surpise when the Covenant attacked.

With the help of Blue Team, she and the three remaining members of Hastati squad survived the invasion. She is confirmed to still be alive in present canon, but her whereabouts have not been elaborated on.

In canon (~2560), she is turning 52!

Last night while watching part of Forward Unto Dawn for fic writing I noticed after the Chief drops in to save the day Sully says “We’re all following a giant robot!” and April looks back at him like “Do you hear yourself?”

I think she’s still giving him a hard time about it.

Suddenly beset with the idea that Lasky and Orenski meet up post human-covenant war for like coffee or some shit and 1: she's impressed that Lasky is now XO or Captain (depending on when this happens) of the flagship but still gives him shit and 2: gets to meet John again.

Forward unto dawn ost...about time!!!

Loved Forward unto dawn ( the movie)

I have never played the game but I have read some of the books which are so good that I felt like crying.

The movie was awesome and I believe it passed the Bechdel test alright.

1) four named female characters

2) two of them spoke to each other at least 

3) The discussion was not about guys but about the destruction around them and survivial

And can I say that Master Chief was top notch!

Yes sir!

Also they didn't go with the most predictable character to die first.

I already thought; yeah; it's going to be Cadet So-and-So who will die first...but I was wrong; then they just started taking out everyone like Death had gone on a rampage!

Yeah...it was that intense. The storyline was solid and the acting was good.

I don't care what anyone says but the team and actors did a pretty damn good job.

Now I have the Blu-ray and the OST to enjoy to my heart's content.
