Total Reading Goal: 50
Just to be kind to my future self when she looks at this at the end of the year: remember that we were pregnant, had a baby, had to look for a new job, and had to move. We just didn't have time. Maybe we will next year.
Also I will admit I've been binge reading some of Tiffany Roberts' work here and there.
_________________________________
Ok this year's reading challenge was completely and utterly slashed. I got overly enthusiastic and just went all over the place. I enjoyed reading when I could, especially after having a baby. February through May was difficult for me as I was in a lot of pain and just wanted to sleep on the last few months of pregnancy. I cried a lot. After I gave birth, reading helped me slowly heal my new found scattered and tired mom brain. I started off slow and after August when I started working again, I came back with a vengeance.

TheWorldsBetweenThePages’ 2019 Reading Wrap Up
Wow, 2019 flowed by really fast!
Many exciting things happened this year, including my first solo day trip to the Netherlands, and a six week work trip to Sweden - and of course I indulged in books on both trips - and I’m almost finished with my job education.
And of course, I read a ton of books, more than ever before. Also, my blog gained quite a number of followers - thank you so much! I sincerely hope that you enjoy my reviews and will continue to do so :)
This year, I set myself a personal reading goal: to try and read mostly books written by women, and I think it worked out pretty well. I think that they’re a lot better, and I’m spared a lot of sexist and objectifying bullshit. 2018, 40% of the books I read were written by men. 2019, I reduced that to roughly 21%, most of the remaining books being children’s books from my own childhood that I would consider safe ;) Let’s see where this will go 2020.
Due to the high number of books I’ve read, it’s really hard to highlight the absolute favourites and break them down to two books like I did last year, but I’ll try to keep it short.
My favourite reads of 2019:
The Choice by Edith Eger
The Seafire series by Natalie C. Parker - Seafire & Steel Tide
Caraval & Legendary by Stephanie Garber
The Rebel of the Sands Trilogy by Alwyn Hamilton
The Girl in Red by Christina Henry
Everless by Sara Holland
TheWorldsBetweenThePages’ 2018 Wrap Up
And below you’ll find a list of all the books I’ve read this year as well as links to the reviews, in case you’re interested :)
Now all that’s left is this: I wish all of you a good start into 2020! Keep on reading!

Hey tumblr so I need your help! My school always had one of those “Read Across America” maps with young adult novels or romances or whatever (evidently, I’m American) but I’ve never seen anything comparable for wlw. I’ve tried to rely on my memory and on other people’s recs but I’m only (exactly) halfway through. Any suggestions to fill in these missing states? I’ve tried to avoid stories that take place across multiple locations. Or offer more options for the ones I already have, the more the merrier.

Anjanette Miller, CRNA (48) was a veteran nurse anesthetist who worked at two facilities in the Chicago area. A Chicago nurse who lost her life to the coronavirus used social media to share about her fight with the disease and urge others on the front lines of the pandemic to take precautions.
Miller initially went to the hospital in mid-March after contracting coronavirus-like symptoms. The nurse tested negative for coronavirus and was informed she had diabetes, a condition which Miller said she had been predisposed to. Miller posted a video on YouTube in which she talked about her experience of testing negative and diabetes diagnosis - https://youtu.be/zb1AiLnBVmo.
Born in the Philippines, she obtained her bachelor of nursing degree in the University of the Visayas. AJ moved to the United States in 2001 to pursue her professional career and seeking for a greener pasture, and to live openly as a trans woman. Miller died on April 14, 2020 at the Glenbrook Hospital. Cook County Medical Examiner's Office ruled her death was from pneumonia due to a COVID-19 infection with hypertension and diabetes as contributing factors. #COVID19VictimRemembered

Skyface Joe to release brand new single, Aje
April 2020 - Skyface Joe is an artist and performer who is originally from Nigeria, although currently based in Italy. His music blurs the lines between a truly diverse range of styles and influences. In fact, this talented, yet humble artist has a broad creative scope, inspired by Afro-beat, as well as hip-hop and Dance Hall, among many other styles. His most recent single “Aje,” is a catchy and relatable song with some great hooks and some melodies that truly hit the spot. The artist has a different approach to creating quality lyrics. Instead of bragging and falling into the usual lyrical cliches, he loves to talk about his own life stories and experiences, creating music that is entertaining, yet also personal, connecting with the audience on a more insightful level.
You should definitely check out this release if you are a fan of artists as diverse as Anderson.Paak, as well as Mac Miller, Quavo, and many others who don’t play by the usual “rules” of hip-hop.
