It should probably concern me that at multiple points all three of the main cast of TWEfA have talks to themself about how they will commit self-game over if their situation gets too dire. Multiple times.

Sebastian Stan, who now has A Different Man and The Apprentice in theaters, revealed on The Big Picture podcast that he’s attached to the film and what precisely is holding up production. “I have this thing, I don’t know if it’ll ever get going. I have this thing that Elaine May was going to direct. It was going to be her last film and her first film since Ishtar. It’s this crazy, kooky comedy,” Stan said. “It’s supposed to be with Dakota Johnson and myself. We’ve been trying to find a shadow director for Elaine May for the insurance company. So if anybody out there is hearing this and you want to fucking shadow Elaine May for her last film, let’s go do it! I mean, The Birdcage is one of my favorite fucking movies of all time and that’s totally a comedy in the [same vein] of When Harry Met Sally… and all that great stuff. So I’m all over it. It’s just, weirdly, some things come together and other things you wait for. "
For those unfamiliar with a shadow or insurance director: it’s a common Hollywood practice for most aging filmmakers in case a health issue were to arise during production. In perhaps the most famous example, Paul Thomas Anderson acted as an insurance director by shadowing Robert Altman on 2006’s A Prairie Home Companion.

I also agree that Seb wouldn't bring up the Broadway thing if he didn't already know if Chris' would/wouldn't want to do it.
In my opinion I think the problem here is their timing. Seb mentioned last year (I think) in that video that he wanted to do a play with someone with whom he already worked but didn't say who. I kinda think he didn't say it because he didn't want to bring attention to it just yet because he knew that in the next months to a year, A different man and The Apprentice would probably be out, and those are movies that I feel he really wanted to promote because of the work that they have behind. (He probably was also shooting Thunderbolts around that time and maybe 2024 too, I don't really know as I don't really follow marvel news anymore).
The thing is, now that he actually said that he wanted to do a play with Chris and brought attention to it, it's maybe because he expects his 2025 or early 2026 to have some free months where he could squeeze in Broadway. BUT sadly I think that late 2025 will be a busy time for Chris because they just wrapped up in Greece a few weeks ago, there's also the movie with Dakota and Pedro... and maybe those will be released by the end of next year.
So maybe Chris is "not responding" because he's not sure of what his schedule will look like.
Personally, I feel like they both have talked about it before and now is more of a team-actor negotiation because you just can't say 'yeah let's do this' have the internet talk about it and hype it up but then turn out that you have a contract to promote a movie that you can't just ditch to do another thing (Infinity War was probably an exception because, you know, they had another 20 actors to do press). So maybe Chris and his team are waiting to know the approximate release/premieres/movie festivals dates before publicly say either yes or no.
Anyway I really hope they get the opportunity to do this. Maybe I'm biased ;) but they actually have an exploitable chemistry that could work very well in a play or a movie. Plus, daily content of the two of them of course.
This all makes a LOT of sense to me, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this! I feel like you're most likely right, and I'm right there with you hoping and praying they can make the timings work somehow, if they do both want to do this thing together! It would be such a waste of their incredible chemistry if they never did anything else together, and an absolute dream come true for me and you and lots of other people if they did! Fingers & toes crossed 🙏🏻❤️

Thinking about this Au it doesn't have a name yet so Im just rambling.
But the general just if it is Ashe after their first experience turns to Mark and begs him to find some that can help her with it. Mark finds Professor Cross and Asks (threatens) him to help Ashe. Allowing Ashe to end up under WATCH as Professor Cross' assistant and apprentice.
Ashe in turn learns to control their magic and gets to hop worlds with Professor Cross occasionally. They also end up making tech with Professor cross to help them better control their magic.
Vynce is still from a different world a little more alien than just the usual elf and he starts learning to survive, he has the Greats in his head helping him out though he's not in control of their magic. She also kind of just gets thrown into a lab to be studied at belltech
William works at belltech thanks to his brother. He's still mostly a ghost and David hired him on so he could keep an eye on Williams well being, and so he could rest to see what slows down or quickens his death. William ends up doing a lot of suspicious work down in the labs of belltech where he meets Vyncent and maybe Dakota and he feels pretty bad about it so he starts thinking about ways to get them out of there.
I'm not as well versed in Dakota enough to make a story up for him but I swear there's something here

Golden Globes Close Calls Decided: ‘Anora,’ The Apprentice,’ ‘Heretic,’ ‘A Real Pain,’ Others Stake Claims As Dramas or Musical/Comedies (Exclusive)
THR reports on the submission plans for all of the top contenders ahead of the Nov. 4 entry deadline.
BY SCOTT FEINBERG
Tumblr media
Filmmakers and distributors of awards-hopefuls have until Nov. 4 to submit their category preference — drama versus musical or comedy — to the Golden Globes organization, which reserves the right to overturn any classification that it finds egregiously inaccurate.
Some of this year’s cases are inarguable — for instance, Netflix’s Emilia Pérez, in which characters spontaneously burst into song, is clearly a musical (if not a comedy), and A24’s The Brutalist, in which an immigrant faces all sorts of harrowing hurdles, is clearly a drama. There are, however, also plenty of close-calls, about which many have made assumptions, but, in most cases, not confirmed.
The Hollywood Reporter has been working the phones and can now report which way almost every contender is breaking. This intel is, of course, subject to change prior to Nov. 4, and to being overturned by the Globes thereafter — but it is current as of this writing.
Joining Emilia Pérez in the the musical/comedy field will be several other musicals, including Universal’s Wicked; Warners’ Joker: Folie à Deux; Sony Classics’ Kneecap; Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King; and Paramount’s Better Man and Mean Girls. But THR can confirm that a number of pretty dark films will also be entered there, most notably Neon’s Anora, the story of a sex worker who gets mixed up with shady Russians; Searchlight’s A Real Pain, about cousins who visit Poland to pay tribute to their late grandmother; A24’s A Different Man, the story of a man with neurofibromatosis who undergoes surgery to reverse it, and Heretic, a horror flick in which a home visit by Mormon missionaries goes wrong; and, as Gold Derby previously reported and some are likely to raise objections to, Amazon/MGM’s Challengers, in which young tennis players wind up in a love triangle.
Also in the musical/comedy field: dramedies (Netflix’s Hit Man; Searchlight’s Nightbitch and Kinds of Kindness; Focus’ Dìdi and Piece by Piece; Magnolia’s Thelma; Sony’s Saturday Night and Fly Me to the Moon; and Sony Classics’ Between the Temples); broader comedies (Disney’s Deadpool & Wolverine; Universal’s The Fall Guy and Argylle; Warners’ Beetlejuice Beetlejuice; Amazon/MGM’s My Old Ass; Apple’s Wolfs; and Sony Classics’ Wicked Little Letters); and, as was made possible by a rule change in 2021, animated features (Universal’s The Wild Robot; Disney/Pixar’s Inside Out 2; Disney’s Moana 2; and Focus’ Piece by Piece).
Some films that perhaps could have been pushed for a musical/comedy classification, but will instead be entered as a drama, include Briarcliff/Rich Spirit’s The Apprentice, which is essentially a buddy film about Donald Trump and Roy Cohn; A24’s Queer, a trippy film about the colorful escapades of a William S. Burroughs stand-in; and Sony Classics’ Daddio, in which a taxi driver (Sean Penn) and passenger (Dakota Johnson) banter during a long ride.
There are a bunch of movies this year that contain a lot of music but will not be entered in the musical/comedy race — an acknowledgement that they are really dramas with music: Searchlight’s Bob Dylan portrait A Complete Unknown; Netflix’s Maria Callas biopic Maria (meaning its leading lady, Angelina Jolie, will not have to go up against the streamer’s Emilia Pérez leading lady, Karla Sofía Gascón); Focus’ Amy Winehouse biopic Back to Black; and Paramount’s Bob Marley biopic Bob Marley: One Love.
In a different era of the Globes, some films of this sort were able to sneak past the guardians and land in the musical/comedy category, which was usually thinner — for example, A Complete Unknown director James Mangold’s 2005 Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash biopic Walk the Line. But these days, the revamped organization behind the Globes doesn’t let that sort of thing happen. Films in which characters play musicians who perform songs, as opposed to films that feature characters who spontaneously break into song, almost always wind up classified as dramas whether they like it or not (see 2018’s Bohemian Rhapsody and A Star Is Born).
The drama field was always, of course, going to include Focus’ Conclave, Nosferatu and The Bikeriders; Paramount’s Gladiator II and September 5; Sony Classics’ The Room Next Door, I’m Still Here and The Outrun; Apple’s Blitz; Warner’s Dune: Part Two, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 and Juror #2; A24’s Babygirl, Civil War, Sing Sing, Babygirl and We Live in Time; Amazon/MGM’s Nickel Boys, The Fire Inside and Unstoppable; Netflix’s The Piano Lesson, His Three Daughters and Shirley; Disney’s Young Woman and the Sea; Vertical’s The Order; Sideshow/Janus’ All We Imagine as Light; Kino Lorber’s Oh, Canada; Neon’s The Seed of the Sacred Fig and Longlegs; Roadside’s The Last Showgirl; Roadside/Vertical’s Lee; Shout!’s The Dead Don’t Hurt; Falling Forward’s Day of the Fight; Bleecker Street’s Hard Truths; Lionsgate’s Small Things Like These and White Bird; IFC/Sapan’s Ghostlight; and Sony’s Here.
There is really only one wild-card still out there: MUBI’s The Substance, in which Demi Moore plays an aging movie star who goes to extreme measures to try to retain her viability in the industry. I can see arguments on both sides for this one, and apparently so can MUBI and Moore’s team, who are still deliberating about what to do. On the one hand, one could argue that it’s a very dark drama turned horror flick. But on the other hand, one could certainly call it a satire, sending up a business in which youth and beauty are prioritized above all else. To me, it’s a modern-day Sunset Blvd. (1950), which straddled those two descriptions — and ultimately competed at the Globes as a drama and took home four awards, including best actress.

PROPAGANDA
FLORA REINHOLD (PROFESSOR LAYTON)
1.) I MEAN WHERE DOES ONE START!
Okay so in the first game (curious village) she's locked in a tower, cut off from civalisation because her dad died and he wants her to find a worthy suitor. Not a suitor her age, a suitor who's nice just a suitor who can solve lots of puzzles. Flora is so ill equipped for the real world because of her father. AND her dad definately set up this marrage trap when she was under 10. I mean it's a woman who's left in a tower for a worthy suitor. She's not even trusted to go into town alone! The town is full of clockwork people! No one is even real!
Then in the next game she's left behind because mystery solving is just to much for her dainty self! So she sneaks on after them, claiming she doesnt, "want to be left all alone again". In the same game she's kidnapped, has her identity stolen and no one notices because her only characterisation is she likes pretty things and then when they finally do notice and find out she was abandoned in a barn no one cares! SHE'S IMMEDIATELY LEFT ALL ALONE AGAIN. :(
In the third game Professor Layton lies to her to give her the slip. He has never lied in the entire series but he lies to her because she couldnt take going on this latest adventure. She's the only character to faint during time travel (which doesnt even make sense) and KEEPS GETTING LEFT ALONE. She's even left in a cage with her kidnapper who's apparently only helping them for Flora. I mean she's deeply uncomfortable when she's caged with him, no one gave her a heads up that she would be caged with him.
She's the only female character with the professor in the main trillogy who isnt a housekeep or secutary and her only characterisation ever is she likes pretty things and cant cook.
Thw writers then go on to make Katrielle's game. A game about the Professor's daughter. Not Flora the person he took into his care this entirely new character. My argument on why she's a victim of mysogony there is they wrote her in outdated form and upon reciving critisism decided to sweep her under the rug and replace her with other characters. >:(
2.) Shafted SO hard because the writer's immediately didn't have any more ideas about what to do with her. She was set up as a mysterious character in her first appearance, and actually had plot relevance and a lot of potential moving forward. (Light PL spoilers)
However! In the next game, the main character just immediately leaves her at home to 'keep her safe', despite bringing a boy younger than her with him. She follows them, gets to join their investigation for all of about maybe an hour of gameplay, and then is promptly kidnapped unceremoniously, and literally locked in a barn for the rest og the game. When the other characters realise she is missing, they do literally nothing and don't go to collect her until the next day DURING THE GAME'S CREDITS.
In the next game, and the final one of the trilogy she appears in, the main character and his apprentice (once again, a boy younger than her) literally run away from her whilst she's making them sandwiches. Just so they don't have to bring her along. She's also kidnapped AGAIN, and does absolutely nothing about it (doesn't even attempt to struggle) so that the main character can come in and save her. :|
Additionally, she's never put in any side material set in the right time frame for her to be there, including not even being MENTIONED in the spin-off sequel (although that game is weird about what references it makes anyway), except for the movie, where she's in it to once again be told to stay behind, and she gets a single word long line.
A lot of people come out of these games complaining that Flora has no personality, because the writer's were apparently so determined to keep her off-screen that it was easy for people to question what kind of a character she even is. (She has one, they just don't show it often enough.)
3.) She is constantly left behind and treated like a little girl even though she's older than Luke, while he is respected as Layton's apprentice. They don't even eat her sandwiches :( They also have a running joke of her being really bad at cooking, but that's literally the only thing they let her do! She also gets kidnapped TWICE (that is, every game she's in but the first one) and the first time she gets impersonated by the bad guy and NO ONE NOTICES for most of the game.
Also in the Japanese version she's "of marriageable age" and apparently really wants to marry Layton when she's older… and that's one of her key character traits in that version. She has a really cool backstory but after the first game she's reduced to "girl whining about how they leave her behind all the time". It's like they wanted to fridge her but realized they couldn't do that to a little girl.
AGENT SOUTH DAKOTA (RED VS BLUE)
1.) She literally got shot in the head and then her body was blown up for shooting someone in the back (who didn't even die - and as a way to save herself from dying) for comparison Wash (a dude) literally killed one of the main cast members (Donut - he ended up living later but he was like at deaths door and survived pure will) for no reason other that to prove that he was serious about killing them and he gets seasons long redemption arcs
2.) she's portrayed as an arrogant, aggressive, incompetent, savage bitch with zero character depth or thoughts to her motivation

PD characters but I give them wc names and Clans and lore and oh god this spiraled into so much more than it was originally meant to be ENJOY!! Characters listed by Clan & position <3 Lemme know who I missed and I'll add them in a reblog, can be as obscure as possible
THUNDERCLAN:
Dakota (Redblaze): ThunderClan. Yeah there's no nuance for him Dakota is just straight fucking ThunderClan. Parents died when he was a kit and he's determined to be the best warrior the Clans have ever seen
Summer (Greenspirit): ThunderClan. Was an apprentice with Dakota. She would sometimes see him sneaking out and follow along, revealing herself if she saw the pd getting into bad trouble. A lot of cats think it likely that she'll end up as deputy eventually due to her responsibility and quick thinking
Alan (Boulderscreech): ThunderClan. There's not much to say about Alan tbh, but Dakota enjoyed training with him when they were both apprentices together (only for a short time before Alan became a warrior)
Tide (Tidestorm): ThunderClan. I know he's water themed but this guy's code of honor is stronger than fuckinnnn idk some bitch from the og arc before everyone started getting mates in other Clans. Dakota's mentor
Seismic (Dustspring): ThunderClan. Idk enough about him to give him a storyline. Aspiring to be deputy but not doing the best. Littermate of Tide, obvsly
Doug (Flamesplash): Medicine cat apprentice of ThunderClan. Originally a warrior, an accident costed him the use of his hind legs. Determined to still be useful to the Clan, he decided to be a medicine cat, despite finding a lot of the work boring. Unfortunately, he doesn't actually believe in StarClan
Elle (Eagleflight): Medicine cat of ThunderClan. Littermate of Tide. Doesn't talk too much, very focused on her work. May or may not have been the secret cause of Shockwave's untimely death during the first pd arc. Looking to somehow take over the Clan, as she thinks her special connection to StarClan makes her the only fit cat to lead
Ms. G (Twilightstar): Leader of ThunderClan. She's always very observant of the apprentices and makes sure they're getting their proper training and their opinions heard. Dakota was originally devastated that she didn't make him her apprentice before learning to love Tide as the father he'd lost as a kit
Harlem (Slinkshade): Deputy of ThunderClan. He was a big part of some previous prophecy, think a super edition set before the pd's first arc. That's when he had to prove himself and he earned the respect of Ms. G, now he's the deputy
WINDCLAN:
William (Wispbreeze): Medicine cat apprentice of WindClan, but he thinks he's ShadowClan at heart (he's half-Clan <3). Think Breezepelt but not a fucking bitch. The only reason he chose to be in WindClan with his dad is because he did NOT want to be in the same Clan as David. He's the medicine cat only because right after he became an apprentice he fucking died and had some crazy vision from StarClan before coming back to life. Oh he's also like Leafpool cause he's got the stupid double forbidden relationship thing going on cause of his crush on Vyncent
Jimmy (Brambleface): WindClan. As apprentices, he often bullied William for no good reason. Ratted William out whenever he caught him sneaking off. They even got into a physical fight at one point that Lightspeed interrupted before William could get his ass handed to him
Whirlwind (Whirlwind!!): WindClan. Littermate of Magma. Nearing his time as an elder, but remains one of the senior warriors for now. Regular guy, nothing special
Le Frog (Frogleap): WindClan. He somehow can escape any situation. Whenever William sneaks out of camp they somehow run into each other and William is just about ready to kill him
Pretender (Ripplesight): Medicine cat of WindClan. If anyone gets visions from StarClan, it's him. He's not the most present mentor for William, but he's good enough. Often thinks there are omens in anything he comes across
Magma (Scorchstar): Leader of WindClan. A very strict leader and punishes harshly those who violate the warrior code. He's not a big fan of William because of this, and often lectures him about trusting other Clans too much. Littermate of Whirlwind
Lightspeed (Lightstreak): Deputy of WindClan. Not much to say about her except that she's caught William sneaking out of camp one trillion times and she's getting tired of it
RIVERCLAN:
Vyncent (Sparksoul): RiverClan. Really good at adapting to different situations. Also just a guy who's there sometimes. Wasn't originally born in the Clan, but was found as a kit and saved. While he feels accepted and loved by his Clanmates, he still wonders where he came from and who his real parents are
Cantrip (Tripclaw): RiverClan. Big reason why William was jealous of her was because she's in the same clan as Vyncent. She thinks their shenanigans are stupid
Jax (Duskwing): RiverClan. One of the more arrogant warriors, constantly arguing with Mynerva, who he thinks stole the deputyship from him. Likes to pick on the apprentices for no good reason other than the fun of it
Flow (Shimmerhaze): RiverClan. Unnaturally good at a lot of stuff and nobody knows how she does it. Very quiet swimmer too
Cross (Lightningwhisker): Medicine cat of RiverClan. As eccentric as any good medicine cat. Another cat that gets pulled into the pd's antics, but usually loves helping out. Believes a lot in the next generation of warriors. Nobody knows how old he is but everyone's pretty sure he was around even before the last leader of RiverClan. Also shares crazy stories of quests he went on during his youth, probably a part of some old prophecy
Jason (Orchidstar): Leader of RiverClan. He's on his last life and the rest of the Clan is starting to doubt his ability to lead. He's THAT RiverClan/WindClan leader that's always super annoying and won't agree with the main leader because the plot needs some political opposition
Mynerva (Mistyfrost): Deputy of RiverClan. Vyncent's mentor, but wasn't happy about it. She believes in strong Clan blood, and is in fact one of the only Clanmates to dislike Vyncent because of his outsider origins. Jason made her his mentor to train that attitude out of her, in preparation for when she'd eventually become leader. Otherwise, she's an extremely intelligent deputy, and everyone's just waiting for her to take Jason's place
SHADOWCLAN:
Bookworm (Wormpaw): ShadowClan. Wordsmith's apprentice. Loves joining in on pd adventures. He doesn't really like it in ShadowClan and often voices this to them
Xavier (Stonepelt): ShadowClan. Hot-headed new warrior, likes to pick a fight with other border patrols. Often told off by Wordsmith. Often seen with Cantrip and Alan at gatherings, despite his dislike for other Clans
Mr. Wilson (Moonsong): ShadowClan. This guy is plotting to cause a revolution and depose Mal, but hasn't actually recruited anyone yet. He has trust issues
David (Webmist): Medicine cat of ShadowClan. He's William's older brother obvsly and half-Clan, but chose to stay in ShadowClan with their mother. Always gets others to do his dirty work. Lies about prophecies and such for his own purposes. Often mocks William when the medicine cats gather at the Moonstone
Mal (Silentstar): Leader of ShadowClan. What else do you expect. This guy is basically Tigerstar tbh but without the Clan change. Known for manipulating other leaders at Gatherings. What he would give to take over the whole Forest
Wordsmith (Thornwhisper): Deputy of ShadowClan. This guy has his eye on the pd simply because he keeps finding them sneaking around ShadowClan territory investigating. Begrudgingly has been working with them on occasion because he's become aware of the corruption in the Clan and he wants to change that
CATS OUTSIDE THE CLANS:
Ashe: Kittypet. Sorry but this guy got accidentally roped into the shenanigans of the pd (all apprentices during s1 ofc) and then StarClan went hmm actually let's make him part of the prophecy. Can use the powers of dead cats
Mark: Rogue. This guy originally was raising his son in the wild but eventually left him at some twoleg's place so he'd be safe. Visits from time to time but would never fucking stay. Hates the Clans because they're a bunch of obnoxious pricks, yada yada (he secretly was once a member of RiverClan but shhh he left or got kicked out depending on who you ask. Warrior name was Wavestrike)
Tony: Loner. He lives near ThunderClan territory and Dakota has run into each other a couple times (during his secret rule-breaking expeditions). They both agree not to tell ThunderClan about where they've been (Tony being near the border and Dakota being over it) if the other doesn't
Overlord (Jaggedtooth): Exiled ThunderClan warrior. He was the one who killed Dodgeboy for good. He's currently plotting his revenge and takeover of ThunderClan. Currently working with Mark
Shockwave (Shockwave lmao): StarClan spirit. He's Tide's littermate, killed during the first pd arc (imagine him having the dramatic death of a first book). He and Dakota were good friends before his death. Often secretly tries to help the pd despite StarClan's wishes
Dodgeboy (Dodgestar): StarClan spirit. He was the last leader of WindClan, recently deceased. This is the guy who gave William his first prophecy as an apprentice
Kemuri (Smokestep): StarClan spirit. Former WindClan warrior. He often helps William out and guides him through visions. This guy is old as fuck, from a whole different era
The Trickster (TrickSTAR ahahahha): Dark Forest spirit. Who the fuck knows what Clan he was originally part of. He is 5 different guys after all

On 17th October 1821 Alexander Gardner, renowned photographer of the American Civil War was born in Paisley.
Gardner became an apprentice jeweller at the age of 14, lasting seven years. He had a Church of Scotland upbringing and was influenced by the work of Robert Owen, Welsh socialist and father of the cooperative movement. By the time he reached adulthood he and his brother James had the idea to create a cooperative in the United States that would incorporate socialist values, they travelled to Iowa with this in mind in 1850, Alexander returned to Scotland to raise money for the project and purchased the Glasgow Sentinel, quickly turning it into the second largest newspaper in the city.
On his return to the United States in 1851, Gardner paid a visit to the Great Exhibition in Hyde Park, New York, where he saw the photographs of Mathew Brady for the first time. Shortly afterward, Gardner began reviewing exhibitions of photographs in the Glasgow Sentinel, as well as experimenting with photography on his own.
In 1856, Gardner decided to over permanently to America, eventually settling in New York. He soon found employment with Mathew Brady as a photographer. At first, Gardner specialized in making large photographic prints, called Imperial photographs, but as Brady’s eyesight began to fail, Gardner took on more and more responsibilities. In 1858, Brady put him in charge of the entire gallery.
Two years later, Gardner opened a portrait studio for Brady in Washington, D.C. It was so successful that it helped to support Brady’s more extravagant New York studio.
When the American Civil War erupted in 1861, Gardner assisted Brady in his effort to make a complete photographic record of the conflict. Brady, however, refused to give Gardner public credit for his work. Gardner therefore left Brady in 1863, opened a portrait gallery in Washington, and continued to photograph the hostilities on his own. His photographs President Lincoln on the Battlefield of Antietam as seen in the photos and other portraits of Lincoln are among the best-known photographs of the war period.
Gardner’s Photographic Sketch Book of the Civil War, a two-volume collection of 100 original prints, was published in 1866. When Brady petitioned Congress to buy his photographs of the war, Gardner presented a rival petition, claiming that it was he, not Brady, who had originated the idea of providing the nation with a photographic history of the conflict. Congress eventually bought both collections.
In 1867 Gardner became the official photographer for the Union Pacific Railroad. Primarily active in Kansas, he photographed the building of the railroad and the new settlements that grew up near it. He also compiled valuable photographic documentation of the Plains Indians of North America.
Returning to Washington, he gradually lost interest in photography and devoted the rest of his life to philanthropy.
In 1871, Gardner gave up photography entirely to start an insurance company. He lived in Washington until his death in 1882. Regarding his work he said, “It is designed to speak for itself. As mementos of the fearful struggle through which the country has just passed, it is confidently hoped that it will possess an enduring interest.”
The first pic is of Alexander Gardner, next is Ta-Tan-Kah-Sa-Pah (Black Bull) of the Brule-Sioux tribe, North Dakota, President Lincoln on Battle-Field of Antietam and Abraham Lincoln and his son Thomas, then Lewis Payne, one of the men involved in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln and finally the Leavenworth, Lawrence, and Galveston Railroad Bridge across the Kaw River at Lawrence, Kansas, in 1867

Note
This didn’t usually my M.O. but I really wanted to share some headcanons of mine for part of the ROTI cast for the fantasy au since it’s taken a hold of me.
- Dawn is a mysterious fortune teller who leads young and stupid adventurers to their doom. It’s mostly unintentional tho. Mostly.
- Dakota suffers from a curse that makes her the kidnapped princess and the beast guarding the kidnapped princess.
- Mike is a traveling thespian, using his vast skill set to put on some great shows. Sometimes his alters will help out too (Svetlana being the most willing to help and Chester being the least).
- B is an artificer working to fully combine magic and tech to get the most potential out of both.
- Cameron is his apprentice
That’s all I got for now

WIP Wednesday!
@baka-bakeneko dared me 😈 to write this AU, in which Vox and River meet as teens.
Synopsis: Vox’s day isn’t going too well; her ride just got klepped, she’s alone out in The Badlands, and she’s got no way back home. Her luck turns when she stumbles upon Dakota’s garage, where the fixer asks one of her young mechanic apprentices, River, to give her a lift back to the city. What he doesn’t know is that Vox doesn’t intent to head home- she’s gonna get her car back, and she’s taking River along for the ride.
Here’s a snippet:
Silver stars litter the powder sky, hazy puffs of white gliding over a pink horizon. The acrid smell of sulfur hangs heavy in the air, sun-soaked asphalt scorching against V’s road-rashed flesh. Jagged pebbles bite into her shoulder, mercilessly marking her as turns onto her side, the rosy tint in her gaze following the shifting of her swollen eye.
“I’ll fuckin’ kill you,” she seethes through a fractured jaw, the aching in her bones not nearly as painful as her loss. The scuffed Hella vanishes behind clouds of smoke and cinnabar dust, obscured by the dilapidated structures leading back towards Night City.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck.”
Her palm manages to find the road beneath her despite the haze, the slight sheen of blood in her pupil still sullying her view.
Thank you for the dare! 💕
