Otto the Elephant Alpha

I did this months ago and got bogged down on his spawning animation and forgot to post - I'm not planning on finishing the spawning animation, but it's a Sun-looking thing

Otto plays a part in what I like to call the Appondale War, which is this little thing I have going on in my animal jam AU

where, essentially, in the time where the animals were distrustful of each other and took their heartstones with them, some of the animals went to Appondale, and the different species vied for control of the savannah - the animals going there being animals that come from the savannah eg elephants, crocodiles, lions, hyenas, rhinos, cheetahs. Otto was the leader of a group that was trying to defend Appondale against the Phantoms while trying to mend the distrust between the animals in Appondale. He failed, and was felled and imprisoned in the elephant heartstone, but when the Alphas brought elephants back to Jamaa, he was given Alpha status for his valour. Contrary to his Sun motif, he actually defends against the Sun by bringing rain to areas with droughts, and letting smaller animals gather in the shade he casts. Pretty stand-up guy.

jammers guide to getting membership on animal jam for FREE! (sorta)

before anything i will clarify that this takes some time and effort and does require playing play wild and that if you get membership on one game, you get it on the other!

this guide involves getting the sapphires needed to buy a my shop from the diamond shop by playing games! yes, that is all it takes

*please note that game rewards are a bit buggy at the moment but are still possible*

to start, head to the games tab and check out the sapphire rewards on the right. you'll see the milestones required on each mini game. the reward starts at 5 sapphires then goes to 10 then 15.

you can pick and choose which games and which milestone you want to reach as long as it leads to 100 sapphires total (the price of a my shop)

once you reach 100 sapphires, head over to the diamond shop and buy a my shop!

now that you have a my shop, i'll be giving anyone that follows this guide sapphires to cover your initial membership! just reply to this post or contact me wherever is best fit with your user and be sure to have an item in your shop for 632 sapphires (considering the non-member my shop fee)

then go back to the diamond shop and purchase your membership!

to keep the membership going just play the game as usual! be sure to:

claim your daily login rewards

buy any seasonal items that are leaving soon as they may sell for sapphires in the future

join a pack and collect the pack chest and gem tree every day or focus on fridays and sundays when a special item is rewarded from the chest

participate in pack runs to earn clothing item sets that can be sold

dig for treasure with golden shovels

defeat phantoms in appondale

remember to utilize the shop explorer at the spawn of coral canyons to find the best amount of sapphires to price your items!

and that's it! it may be a challenge to get enough sapphires each month but there are jammers out there that will be more than willing to help

this also works for getting the refer a friend rewards on classic by making alts invited by your main account!

Fortis's List of Ways to Get Sapphires In AJPW

I see a lot of jammers ask in-game how to get sapphires, so here's as many tips as I know on getting them:

Log in daily to claim a prize from the Daily Spin. There's a chance every day to win 5 (sometimes more) sapphires. Sometimes there's a sapphire reward just for logging several days in a row on top of the Daily Spin.

Play games for achievements. Click the game icon in the top bar, and click the sapphire icon along the side of the games menu. This gives you a list of goals that reward sapphires as you progress. This is especially great for getting your first sapphires.

Dig up Dig Spots. Every few minutes in an area, a golden shovel spawns. Clicking it brings up a small digging mini-game, where you can occasionally dig up sapphires.

Shake the gem tree every hour. When you join a Pack and visit the Hideout, there's a tree that drops gems and occasionally sapphires when clicked on twice. More currency grows every hour.

Fight Phantoms. Jammers often summon Phantoms in Appondale using Phantom Howl potions, and when defeated they give out a random prize, including sapphires. To join in the fight, you need a Paintseed Launcher and some Paintseeds. You can get a launcher for free from the "Phantom Fighter" mission. You can easily claim 18 Paintseeds for free every day- 9 from the Alpha Headquarters, and 9 from the Lost Temple of Zios in the Phantom Dimension. If you want, you can buy a tree for 100 sapphires which gives 9 seeds every hour. To visit the dimension, you don't need to buy the portal- you can use the portal of a fellow Jammer. Just ask a buddy or around town if anyone has one you can use. (More on the Phantom dimension later.) This is a good method if you have a lot of seeds and friends to fight alongside you.

Go nocturnal hunting. AJPW has day and night cycles that last around 90 minutes each. During the night, nocturnal animals will spawn in various areas. It seems to help that you stay in an area for a few minutes, and then the animals will start spawning. If you leave the area, any animals will despawn and you have to wait all over again, so be careful. Clicking a nocturnal animal makes it disappear and give you a random prize. This is a good method if you have keen eyes and a lot of patience. Be sure to shout out any animals you see for your fellow jammers! Nocturnal hunting has an associated mission.

Find blooming flowers. As opposed to nocturnal hunting, every few minutes in the daytime, a small shower of rain occurs, after which a bushel of flowers blooms in the land. Clicking it rewards with gems, sapphires, or a flower-themed item. Just like the animals, it despawns if you leave the room. This has an associated mission.

Find golden snowflakes. When it storms in Mt. Shiveer, every few minutes a huge golden snowflake lands in the area and occasionally rewards sapphires. It makes a twinkling sound effect and is honestly pretty hard to miss if you're checking.

Attend a Sapphire Drop party. Some Jammers host parties at their dens where they use Super Sapphire Potions to gift sapphires to everyone in the room. Lots of times people abbreviate this to "Sap drop" and advertise in Jamaa Township or other popular areas. Please don't repeatedly ask people to drop sapphires, but ask politely if anyone is hosting a sapphire drop party.

Visit the Phantom Dimension. The Giant Phantom Phlob lives in the Phantom Dimension's Mount Shiveer, which is locked behind at least 25 defeated Phantoms. When you meet them, you can feed them a Paintseed and they reward you with a randomly selected prize, which very occasionally includes sapphires or a super sapphire potion. In addition to the Phlob, in a random area is the dimension's own traveling salesman, who sells super sapphire potions for 3,500 coins. Visiting the Phlob has an associated quest!

Sell things in a My Shop. This requires saving up sapphires in the first place, since My Shops can't be traded between jammers, and must be bought from the Sapphire Shop for 100 sapphires. If you have unwanted items, especially ones that are more obscure or uncommon, then people will probably enjoy browsing your shop and buying things for sapphires. Check with the Shop Explorer in Coral Canyons to compare common prices with what you might want to price your own items at.

My personal favourite methods are nocturnal hunting (which is especially more fun if you have people hunting and chatting with you), and fighting phantoms (especially if you find a busy server where people are repeatedly summoning them)! If you're a member and have the ability to reroll, make good use of it while you got it ::-)

the phantom phlob only gives out 50 gems at a time bc theyre giving away the rest of their gems to all the heavy phantoms that people keep summoning to appondale. when u get gems from defeating a pjhantom thats their allowance that the phlob gave them

Big ol rant about aj lore and new things with the update I don't think people have seen :)

OKay, so we all have seen the newest update KABOOM Club Geoz is back new bundle night of the phantoms boom awesome update. Amazing update since getting such small updates I think we can agree this is awesome but I've found something else ajhq hasn't told us about. There has been no mention of the notes scattered across Jamaa.

The only notes I've found so far at located at The Lost Temple Of Zios, Appondale, and Coral Canyons. 

There is quite a bit of mention of light and dark throughout this update we've got the message at Club Geoz where Greely is talking about and questioning why Club Geoz is back and makes mention of how its music can be a source of light and dark energy. Then there is the new bundle which contains two recolors of Greely's armor titled Greely's dark side armor and Greely's light side armor. 

Greely is a big part of this at the moment. He's on all of the notes and he's the only alpha talking to us about this (makes sense phantoms are this emos hyper fixation) Even Play Wild has mentioned Greely.

Throughout the notes, Greely tells us about the lines of power and how they work. Greely also talks about the phantoms being able to cross from their dimension to ours and how they might even be able to cross to other worlds. 

Right now I do not know where this is going to go but ofc Ima speculate, just keep in mind I'm going to throw around some stuff I know ajhq can't do at the moment with the state ajc is in. 

I think this is an amazing set-up for a new adventure or event. Throughout the adventures we've gone to the fortress (correct me if I'm wrong) but I don't think we've ever gone to the phantom dimension aside from something like the phantom vortex, what does the phantom vortex even count as? You can access it in ajpw so maybe ajhq wants to do something similar here? 

There is a mention of how the lines of power can be activated in the note from The Temple Of Zios. "These lines can be activated by great astronomical events such as an eclipse, or by the collective, focused energy of many animals working together." We've seen the lines of power work in an eclipse but... many animals working together? again I think this could add to some event maybe an adventure but I see this one leaning towards something just happening in Jamaa. I want to quickly not so quickly touch on Juno. When the lines of power reappeared their statue started to glow yellow showing some activity. There are now items revolving around them in the diamond shop and also in the phantom vortex? I don't know much about the lore of Juno and I'm not about to go check so bare with me and correct me anywhere you like. I questioned the phantom vortex earlier maybe the fact that Juno's armor is there could suggest Juno is in the phantom dimension? which again... IS AN AWESOME SET-UP FOR AN ADVENTURE. Imagine it. Greely is worried about the phantoms and wants us to go into the phantom dimension to investigate and gather information. Using the lines of power or something along the lines maybe even the light and dark energy from something like Club Geoz we make it into the phantom dimension. While searching and finding information we could stumble across traces of an animal or something in here with us. Notes or bits of armor or items, or it could just be a large reveal instantly of Juno trapped by the phantoms! we get them out and return to Greely and the other alphas. TLDR: There are notes in aj talking about the lines of power Juno and Greely are important, we may get a new adventure or event sometime. MORE LORE WOOOOOO!!!!!!

on AJ i was like "Twister and Match-Up are nostalgic to me, and Sky High. idk why just that side of the map is though." & now I'm like. wait. it's because the other side of the map didn't exist. The westmost game was probably River Race. they didnt have Appondale or Shiveer, they didn't have Super Sort, Pill Bugs, Falling Phantoms, Swoopy Eagle, or that Pacman clone i don't remember the name of.

ok, since it's been a long time, here's a bit of an update on how minecraft sarepia forest looks so far! some shots with shaders and some without. (obligatory planetminecraft link)

some areas seem a little empty right now, but it'll feel much more complete when i've got all the background trees filled in!
