everyone’s kind of just standing around — and you realise it’s because butcher hasn’t given his speech of instruction yet. from your understanding, he was their leader — perhaps that’s why you naturally couldn’t help but cozy up to him the most. it was your primal instincts.

he finally marches in, heavy boots slapping on the floor. he uses a lot of words you dont know, a lot of weird slang you never heard at the lab you came from — but everyone seems to understand. toward the end of the little round-up, hughie gestures toward you with a characteristic awkwardness.

“okay well— that’s all fine and great but… what are we gonna do with…” he seems like he’s trying not to be rude as he glances at you apologetically.

“poodles comin’ with us, son.” butcher smiles matter of factly, wandering up behind you and pressing his hands down on your shoulders. you smile, tail batting against his thigh excitedly — totally unaffected by the unsure stares you receive from the group. “good at sniffin’ people out and she’s fast. long as she dont get in the way — there’s no reason she can’t come and learn and thing or two. will do ‘er some good.”

m.m sighs defeatedly, crossing his arms over his chest knowing butcher wasn’t gonna take no for an answer today. “i guess she is pretty useful.”

butcher grins, leaning against the back of you with his chin on your shoulder. “tha’s the spirit. more than a pretty pair’a tits, this one is.” his huge hands slide round your front, giving your chest an egregious squeeze before backing up. you squeak like a dog toy when he does so, unsure of why your body feels so hot.

the rest of the group grimace, yet butcher simply slaps you on the ass, sending you on your way. “alright, no more standin’ around. grab ya�� shit— we’re leavin’.”
