Apollo and two Muses (after 1741). Pompeo Batoni (workshop replica) (Italian, 1708-1787). Oil on canvas. Museum of King Jan III's Palace at Wilanów.
Apollo is shown as the ideal of divine music - the harmony of the celestial spheres, while the Muses gazing at him - Euterpe and Urania - personify music and astronomy. This is one of several workshop replicas of the original, now in a private collection. The replicas done in the Batoni atelier are considered to have been painted by Batoni.
