Six Sentence Sunday

They’ve still got a punching bag set up in what’s left of the gym, but Roy wants to break something, he wants to leave a mark, something that will leave its mark on him. Bruised knuckles to remind him that he turned all that anger into pain. “Fuck!” he shouts, not caring who hears him. He’s far enough away from his room now that Jamie won’t hear. Roy left him sleeping, curled up around Keeley, her fingers running through his hair. He’d told them, haltingly, what he remembered.

you ever watch or listen to something and all of a sudden there’s a whole duology in your head that must be written immediately. anyways: apocalypse fiction anyone? a hint of supernatural worldbuilding and spiritual sensitivity? friends that go through life and death situations? other things that are half formed in my head?

THE PREMISE

a duology that spans an apocalypse and then the post-apocalypse world.

BOOK ONE follows the apocalyptic event itself and the aftermath. [several lines of blacked out text]

There are two categories of monsters: Soul Stealers and Sun Eaters (commonly collated as suneaters). Soul Eaters are wraiths, humanoid shadows with glowing silver centers where the human heart would be. [wall of blacked out text]. Sun eaters are Soul Stealers monstrous companions. BOOK TWO is set ten years after the apocalypse and the events of book one. It follows a handful of young initiates who begin training to be Seekers/Guards, those who can traverse the wastelands and combat Soul Stealers and Sun Eaters. / end id]

Me and a close friend were chatting about the ending of Cass Apocalyptic Series... And I wanted to say a little something about it. :)

C.A.S was one of the biggest reasons that I found my way into the TMNT Fandom here on Tumblr and Youtube. It all began with me finding a dub of the comic, and eventually, I got on Tumblr and read it for myself. :)

C.A.S was one of the first TMNT drawings I've ever drawn.. Or- rather, one of the first that I traced and colored over. But these drawings led me to create my OWN story and AU.

So, I want to thank @somerandomdudelmao, for creating the amazing, chilling, hilarious, and devastating comic series. So many times I burst out laughing. So many times my heart twisted and pulsed for the wonderful characters. The story was incredible and the art, even more so. :)

THANK YOU CASS. THANK YOU FOR BEING AN INSPIRATION. :) I wish you the best of luck with your next projects!

A SUN ASUNDER: POST APOCALYPSE UPDATE!! [65k]

Special note: this update is on dashingdon only for now, since cogdemos.ink is giving me problems again [I'll try to have that figured out soon]

**extra note: if you find any bugs/stuff that doesn't make sense lmk please...even w all the strenuous playtesting im sure I missed a lot [due to the branching]

This update introduces ~30k words of new content, here's a rundown of what you can do:

- explore the cabin [or the watch tower] first

- meet Ranger and learn more about them [or rob them, if that suits your fancy]

- adopt the dog [if you didn't kill it already, of course]

- multiple paths [I tried to make all paths somewhat equal in content, so players wouldn't feel like their path is lacking. Feel free to have multiple saves! Go crazy, there's a lot of variance!]

- time, day, hunger and flashlight systems introduced! Also one death added [on a certain path]

- get the map

- blow up a cabin

- find an old man

- two unique responses if you name the dog certain names

WIP Wednesday

Wasn't sure what to share today, as everything is just a little bit spoilery. But I wrote 800 words this evening (which is more than I usually manage) and part of it was finishing off this scene. Remember that snip I shared yesterday about Roy being adamant he wasn't going to pass on Keeley's hug...

“You good?” “Mmm, I’m good. I’m hungry. Starving actually. I’m—” Anything else gets cut off by Roy pulling him in for a hug, maybe a little too forcefully, if the way Jamie stumbles a little is any indication. But Roy hadn’t even known he was going to hug Jamie until his body was doing it, his instincts bypassing his brain and screaming to him that he needed to do this. He needed to feel Jamie, whole and alive in his arms, not a dream, not a nightmare and not an illusion. “Uh, what’s this for?” “Keeley. She asked me to pass it on, came by last night.” “Keeley, huh?” Jamie replies unconvinced, he can be an annoyingly observant twat when he wants to be. But he also tightens his arms around Roy, letting himself be held as much and as long as Roy needs. Fucking prick. God, Roy’s missed him.
