Apnea & Surf Survival Training in Hawaii www.hawaiiecodivers.com In this apnea exercise, surfers are practicing a CO2 table. We reduce 15 seconds on each breath up, starting at two minutes breathing preparation, until you can take one breath only to go under water again. Apnea time is always 1.15 minutes. On the last round after you take one breath, you can remain underwater for as long as possible. Another successful apnea & surf survival class in Oahu, Hawaii. Guys and girls pushing their limits all weekend long. Everyone in class was able to hold their breath for a list 3 minutes, with many passing the 4 minutes mark and some getting to 5 minutes breath hold. But this is not what the training is just about. The true lesson of this course is to be able to fully oxygenate the body by practicing diaphragmatic breathing the entire time when you surf. By increasing the amount of oxygen in the blood by performing a deep breathing pattern, a surfer is able to focus more in the environment that he/she is in, maintain control of their mind and anxiety levels and focus on what to do to keep safe in the water. And if you happen to go down, you can keep yourself calm underwater for a longer period of time. Next Class on September 29/30. On the morning of the first day, we focus mostly on the physiology of apnea training and the problems associated with it, through 4 hours of theory development (classroom). This way, everyone will move on to the next portion of the course (pool session) with a great understanding of how to push the limits of each breath hold, preventing black out. Rescue skills will be taught prior to any breath hold exercise in order to save your partner in case a black out happens. During the apnea exercises, we will simulate every situation we encounter during a surf session. We just finished another Apnea & Surf Survival Course in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Again we had all levels of surfers mixed in the class, working hard in their apnea and survival skills. Some of them even getting the 5 minute apnea mark on their first training ever. Mais um curso concretizado no Brasil. Foi ótimo ver a galera puxando o limite da sobrevivência.
