Hey, do you have any links to post, videos, or articles on profane language and how to deal with the urge to use it?
Katie!I’m so sorry I’m just now getting to this message. I myself don’t know of any videos or articles; however, I went through this very same thing last year and it took me a solid couple of months to stop cursing. I used to curse like a sailor. Some things that helped me:1. Pay attention to when and why you’re cursing/using profane language. For me, it really depended on the people I was around. Once I realized that, I just made sure to really focus on thinking before speaking when I was around those people and I would ask God to help me specifically with my language in those situations. 2. Replacement words. When I was first working on my language, I came up with replacement words. (Literally “poopy” was one of them, but no shame, because it helped.) Get yourself used to using these words when in situations where you’re tempted to use foul language, and after some time it will come naturally, and then, after some more time, you’ll be able to quit using any filler words. 3. Forgiveness. And I mean forgiving yourself. Because this is something that is hard to break, like any sort of (bad) habit, and you’re going to mess up, and that’s okay. Allow yourself grace and forgiveness and know that you’ll do better the next day/week. 4. Fellowship. Have at least one person who can keep you honest. One person you report to with how you’re doing. One person you can talk to about it all and who won’t judge or make you feel ashamed and who will root for you. (I’m happy to be that person if you need me!)5. Prayer. Talk to God about all of this and ask Him to change your heart (because He wants to) and ask Him to help you each day/hour/whatever and whenever you need. productivity tips i really
need to start using
(part 2 coming soon!)
1. make sure you have slept well
take a nap, sis. inhaling caffeine won’t solve that. s l e e p, pls!
2. d r i n k w a t e r
you are like a plant. you need to be hydrated. also you have complex emotions, so take care of that.
3. eat. a. snack. or a meal idc
your brain needs food - carbs, fats, proteins. eat a banana and pb! or cucumber and hummus, my boyfri- (i’m just listing my fav snacks ;P)
4. make lists! seriously
all types of lists! lists for classes, assignments, to-do list for around the house, errands, shopping lists, etc.
keep those list separate and organized. break them down into sub-lists. i do this when it comes to group projects or cleaning my room or getting ready for bed, an event, you get the idea lol
5. go to bed at a decent time! and wake up before 10 am
going to bed at a reasonable time will help you wake up easier in the morning
this one is being shipped to me personally bc i don’t follow this very well hahaha (it’s 1:30am...)
i use melatonin supplements to help me get back into a decent sleep schedule

concept: sitting in a busy coffee shop, overcast skies, sipping at your bittersweet double shot iced coffee, searching up entries and articles about drug development and pharmaceutical related products, scratching excerpts from articles into your notes, compiling the information gathered into a brief paper that you will later share with whoever is willing to listen.

i had a meeting with my advisor to go over classes for spring! and i should still be on track! i had to move a class to be a summer course bc we don’t have any breaks, and i don’t think i could take 17 credits again ... but that doesn’t put me behind at all! 🥳
