If you’re an old Aphmau fan and you’re rewatching the series because of the trailer announcement, and have access to whatever YouTube account you were using when you originally watched the series as a wee lad … I IMPLORE you to look at the comments, because oh my god, I personally left so much gold.

With that said, here’s a compilation of my best hits:

Spoilers for all of Mystreet and a small bit of Mcd

So ur telling me. That in ms and pdh. In six seasons and like three prequel seasons. Vylad Ro’Meave. Gets 10 episodes that he appears in. TEN. Over 314 fifteen to thirty minutes episodes (including the side series, pdh and fcu, the spin offs, and the mini series, not including the mini games), Vylad get approximately 85 minutes of screentime in total, with around 40 of those minutes being in pdh, and 45 in Mystreet.

My poor guy got the Laurance treatment, with both of them being very important characters in Diaries, but being pretty much tossed to the side in Mystreet. At least Laurance shows up in more than one season of the main series, because Vylad only gets four episodes in Mystreet, (with three of them being solely Ro’meave centered episodes that he takes a smaller role in) and in those four Big Vylad Return Episodes, he doesn’t show up much without his brothers and ends up taking the back seat again as the main plot is taken up by Aphmau and Zane fake dating to please Zianna.

You’ll never guess what he does in Pheonix Drop High. He gets introduced to us, befriends Travis and Aphmau, and is then never seen without one of his brothers again until Mystreet, in which he gets like, 8 minutes of screen time away from them over the course of two episodes until the main arc plot.

Yes, I did infact watch all of the episodes Vylad is in and roughly calculated the amount of time that he was in each episode, even if he wasn’t talking. I would move mountains for this man.

When I watched Mcd for the first time, I had high hopes for him (and by that extension, poor Laurance) in Mystreet during my rewatch, because I hadn’t watched it in years, unless you count dubbing over s4 with my friends. Yay! Vylad finally shows up! Aaand now he’s gone. With no mention of where he went. And we are left to assume he’s traveling the world again. The next time he is ever mentioned is s4, by Garroth, once. And then radio static once more. I’m pretty sure at some point in s5 Zianna brings him up while talking to Zane but I can’t remember.

Vylad had so much goddamn potential in Mystreet. Affair baby? Canonically Pansexual? Tense relationship with his family? Usually keeps off the radar? Acts completely different from his Mcd counterpart? “Child Prodigy”?

They could have done so much more with him and it makes me so sad that he’s basically just a cameo character to please old Mcd fans and make them say “oh my god! Vylad! From Mcd!”. Yes, it did infact please me, but we get so little of him until he’s gone.

They could have removed him from the plot of Mystreet entirely and it wouldn’t change much. The whole Zanemau fake dating story never really goes anywhere, and thats all we see of him other than Pdh, where he is also neglected as a character, though not as much.

It’s not even the fact that they brought him back from Pdh and then did nothing with him. Thats what they did with Ein, and it worked flawlessly. Its the fact that they brought him back just to show us that “hey guys look it’s Vylad that guy from Mcd and like 5 episodes of Pdh!!”

You know what they could have done instead. Removed Kim from the plot and inserted Vylad instead. She showed up just as a plot point to get possessed. It also would have made Emmalyn a bit less weird in her re-introduction, because if Vylad was obsessing over Zane it would have been weird as hell and they wouldn’t have written that.

I would have watched tf out of an Emerald Secret where Vylad was in town visiting his parents and gets dragged by Garroth to help renovate a new property his parents bought, only for him to

A) get possessed and start acting strange, probably suspiciously glaring at Zane and Aphmau,

B) watch as Zane also starts acting weird, and doesn’t remember himself OR Garroth,

C) Witness as everything goes downhill, probably getting locked in the other jail cell with Garroth (LIKE IN THE BLOOPER REEL) and fleeing back to the cabin to try and get help from literally anyone while Garroth tries to save Aaron and the others, and

D) getting invited to Starlight by the Lycans, where we learn more and more about both Vylad AND Emmalyn, as she starts to recover her memories and tells Vylad about a man quite like him in looks from the past.

We could have gotten more of his relationships with the other characters, like him and Lucinda both gladly breaking into the place where Travis is staying, Not Alone Buddies interactions, his interactions with his brothers now that they’ve all been through A Lot, reacting to Aphmau’s engagement, him watching the other guys as they all fail to pull in amusement, commenting on just how much Travis has changed since high school, his reaction to Garroth getting zapped into a werewolf, an awkward interaction with Garte, the GF invasion, getting used to passing out all the time, missing his old travels and regretting ever going to the lodge, Garroth getting mind controlled, Aphmau’s sudden death, and the burden of both contributing to the possession of Travis, and the responsibility of helping to kill his father.

Okay but CAN WE TALK ABOUT THIS PLEASE!!! I have been obsessing over the episode since 2016!!! It is the most random unexplained scene in perhaps all of MCD history.

I thought this was a forgotten plot line, but wait- this same creature and weird realm thing also show up in the final episodes for MYSTREET SEASON 6!

You're telling me that some random shadow-creature-thing from all the way back in season 1, around 2015-ish, is never mentioned again after that episode in it's original series. BUT RETURNS in Mystreet season 6, four years later, in what is canonally either an alternative universe or like 1000 years later....and just for sh!ts and giggles???

why does no one talk about the shadow thing in The Baby Showers PT. 3??????

probably one of the few times this show actually made me want to cry (during my current rewatch and during past ones) was that persons whole dialogue

In honor of my last reblog, I wanna talk about Aphmau and Blaze

They are the platonic friends accused of dating ever of all time. They are so comfortable with each other and everyone outside of their friend groups (and even some inside on occasion) make the assumption that they're dating. That the level of physical comfort they show is only shown between them and people they date.

But Aphmau likes being physical with people, and Blaze has admitted he's very touchy and likes contact. They already bounce off of one another really well almost every time they're in any mini game together, and Blaze is probably the second most common person for her to flirt with during the Starlight era, Aaron obviously being the first.

They're just so chill with each other. Blaze leans on Aphmau because she's the right height for him to lean on, and in return she's allowed to ask him for piggy back rides. He loves picking people up this is totally fine, he'll rarely complain about it. They've slept in the same bed together and have never slept together. Or maybe they have I dunno.

All I know is that they don't want to date each other. That even if Blaze is prone to developing crushes on any of his friends, she's one that he got over quickly and comfortably loves in this platonic manner. She feels comfortable and safe around him and honestly what more could he ask for? She's one of his favorite people and she likes him enough to rest her head on his chest while they're watching movies and murmur her little bits of commentary before she falls asleep.

They're some of the friends of all time.

I agree so much with the fact that the fandom focuses way too much on the age gap problem with Aarmau and not the other issues.

I am going to be completely honest. Their age gap issue in high school bothers me, but in MyStreet, when the reunite years later after having little contact, I don't give a shit. They are adults now with developed brains (based on the fact that in America a lot of the activities they do, you gotta be at least 21+) probably mid to late 20's. 4 years apart when one is 25 and the other is 29 is rather normal.

There are other issues than their age gap, that at the end of the day, doesn't matter when it comes to their relationship as adults.

I come from the stance of. The age gap does matter, because the things that make the age gap wrong continue in the ship even after they become adults, I just think focusing solely on the age gap and not the other issues is just ignoring the other issues exist.

Like I think it’s the least of the ship’s problems, at the end of the day, there’s a lot for/against it and there will always be people going ‘lol it’s not that big of a deal’… but it’s a pretty damning piece of evidence when you bring up how the relationship is otherwise written.

Because saying that Aph is written like a child and some of the lines between her and Aaron are uncomfortable because they really emphasise a kind of maturity gap is definitely a valid criticism. It’s a weird thing they did. But you can probably just argue that they had a preteen fan base and Jess has always been known for her childish humour.

But when you bring up that Childishness and that emphasis on a difference in maturity alongside the fact that they canonically got together when he was a senior and she was a freshman… it begins to get sketchy.

Because now it’s definitely not just ‘oh the age thing was based off of their own ages!’ Or ‘oh that’s just their humour!!’ Because there’s a growing pattern. You can’t look at the 15/18 thing and then the jokes they make about Aarmau in the mini games and go ‘oh haha there’s no association here!!’

I can name an exact joke they have made about Aarmau that is… gross, and technically ‘not canon’ because its in a minigame, but these are the kinds of perspectives they have of the ship after a certain point and it… just gets uncomfortable. I won’t state the joke until I find the video, because I don’t want to make claims and not have the receipts.

But really the point is, the apology didn’t do enough apologising about the real issue. And people don’t focus on the real issues either. The highschool age gap was bad but what about every joke afterwards that played into it, even after the age gap was technically not bad anymore. The growing infantilisation of Aphmau, the growing sexualisation of her at the same time… it just became very bizarre, and uncomfortable for me even back when Starlight was first airing. And I don’t see it addressed enough. It even seeped into other series (Rebirth) and it makes me yuck out.

I need to rewatch MyS and some minigames before I have any exact examples but… yikers dude

How would mcd characters die in the hunger games? + your ocs if you want.

As someone who loves hunger games, this is an amazing question. Also if I were to write a hunger games mcd fic, I would make Liochant a previous winner and Garroth a new one from the luxury district and if will make a mini plot if asked BUT TIME FOR THEIR DEATHS!

Garroth: Trying to protect his district partner but is taken out via numbers. Would probably happen quickly due to the fact he is a big and large threat. Flurry of arrows with one eventually hitting its mark

Aphmau: She screams animal death. I think she would survive a rather long time but once they send in animals she stands no chance. Her disney princess powers fail.

Laurance: He will be a part of a large group but will be betrayed because he is more skilled than the rest of the group.

Dante: His district partner kills him in his sleep. A mercy killing because his brother died previously and Dante couldn't handle the grief of living.

Gene: He managed to manipulate others to do his bidding getting others to kill their district members. One person wises up and the group turns on him and he dies in the bloodiest way.

Katelyn: She is fighting to the very end and is taken out by a long distance method. Arrow to the throat after being heavily weakened from her other fights.

Lucinda: She seduces and poisons a shit ton of people until eventually being mufasa'd. Full pushed off a cliff or out of a tree

Travis: Stays alone as long as possible until he is destroyed by a pack. Makes it far via hiding and causing various natural disasters but is picked off halfway through the games

Nana: She fawns her way into a pack but dies via environmental hazard

Aaron: He will die from some form of capital rigging. He would make an incredibly poor winner and wouldn't further their ideals so they would take him out with whatever means necessary. (From my firm belief that the games are rigged to some extent. Like reality TV. They want certain tropes filled while also allowing for flexibility. Like how siblings or winners children will be picked when in reality they shouldn't) He'd also be shit entertainment

Zane: He is dying fast. Man only has one eye and is a rich kid. He will try and manipulate, but he has no genuine charisma, so he is dying. Tripping on a rock or just an axe to the head.

Vylad: He will also be betrayed by his district partner but not in a mercy way, his partner decides that there can only be one.

Cadenza: She is dying from misinformation. Ie - This plant is safe to eat, or this water is safe to drink, but it is poisonous

Nicole: A staged cave in or environmental disaster. She used her environment to her best advantage, but she trusts in her abilities too much in a place where nothing is real.

Zenix: He is incredibly sneaky, but while picking off a group in their sleep, one wakes up, and he is overpowered and killed.

Oc's and Liochant

Liochant: Long range attack while being overpowered. An arrow to the heart while fighting weapon to weapon.

Nyx: He is a deer and a wizard but smart. Not strong though because as much of picking people is helpful. Entertainment requires sacrifice and bloodshed.

Tashi: Poisoned. He is not the smartest when it comes to flora or fauna and he is dying from poisonous berries.

I hate the videos with laurance’s va so bad, like specifically the mini games, idk it’s just so awkward how scuffed his mic is and he’s trying to flirt and it randomly cuts out or glitches and it’s giving me second hand embarrassment sometimes how he tries to be all cool and possessive of aphmau during the games and I’m like PLEASEE BE NORMAL I LOVE YOUR CHARACTER ACT NORMAL

I was watching old Aphmau mini game videos and I just found out Laurance has a photo inside of the fnaf location.

It feels a little weird to me to be in a fandom of a creator who was cancelled…. That being said hearing the song faster car really made me want to consume the old aphmau content. It was such a good concept but her self inserting of her husband high key ruined the whole plot…. And also there’s her cancellation (for reasons I forgot) when it was from fantasy to high school AU it was fine. It still had a fantasy element to it. But when it went from high school to modern adult life for SOME REASON it made the characters into jokes. And like barely even funny jokes…. I mean I loved the twilight book read BUT LIKE then she took them into in character mini games which like made them even more obnoxious versions of themselves??? It’s like the plot was lost. I tried looking at her profile one day maybe last year and it was just embarrassing. Blantent child targeted thumbnails and like what’s worse is it still gave off trying to be the past in a new font….

But then like I see ppl cosplaying them! And I’m like damn! Is it too late to write some phoenix drop fanfiction?
