A funny one. During a get together, Mozambique noticed Angola staring at Afonso.

He asks "what's wrong?"

"I have my suspicions that he and caçula are going out."

"What! That sounds absurd!"

"But when I ask Luciano he always says he and Afonso just had a ugly fight. But I don't remember many fights that end with bite marks."

"why won't you ask the old man? But be subtle. Like, start talking about the weather."

"hmm, alright"

Then Zola goes to talk with Afonso. He greets her "Olá Zola!"

"Hey! Nice weather huh?"

"yeah, it's a little too humid but-"

"Have you and Luciano been fucking?"

Mozambique chokes on his drink.

"Zola, why are you asking such difficult questions?"

"It's not a difficult question. Are you fucking? Yes or No?"

"It's difficult because you're not going to like the answer."

Zola and Afonso stare at each other for a few moments, while Mozão looks at them back and forth.

"OH! I can't believe you, Afonso! Have you no shame?"

"You know me well enough to know the answer, Zola," Afonso answers with a little smile. "But seriously, do you really think I manipulated Luciano? He went after me in the parking lot. Trapped me between the seats before shoving his tongue down my mouth."

Mozambique looked around, unconfortable.

"This is way too much information."

Zola raises her eyebrows. "You're telling me Luciano seduced you on some parking lot? Why didn't you stop him?"

"Everytime I said we couldn't do this, it just turned him on more. The next time, we had a fight and he pulled into a bathroom stall and ripped open my shirt with his teeth."

And with that Mozambique ran out of the room.

Oh my God! This is great!

At this point Afonso is completely wasted plus heartbroken, I would advise taking away all objects that he can throw.

Antonio keeps shaking his head, at least his kids talk shit to his face. Chile and Argentina proceed to talk shit to him right there and he tells them "See? I always knew they were little shits!"

Eventually, Arthur manages to sit everybody down and tells them to talk it out like grown-ups. But they don't talk, they sit awkwardly. Port looks everywhere except at them, Angola crosses her arms and waits for someone to speak first, Mozambique looks at her, and Brazil sulks.

Finally, Brazil bursts out: "You don't have the right to be mad! It's not like we haven't said all that stuff to your face already!"

Angola and Mozambique pinch him to stop talking.

Meanwhile Port just... deflates like a burst balloon, anger dissipating as he sinks deeper into the couch.

"I see," Afonso says, he's not angry anymore, he looks tired. Somehow, that's even worse.

"Look, we're sorry about the group chat," Angola finally says. "We lied to you about dinner and it was wrong. It was dumb and childish and we won't do it again."

Portugal stares at her and nods. "Alright."

"So... are we good?" Mozambique asks.

"We're good."

They fall into another awkward silence until Arthur suggests they take a little break. Everyone's a little too emotional right now, they should give each other a little time.

So for the next couple of months, Port doesn't contact any of them. He stops coming to the meetings, never calls or visits. Sometimes, Chile or Argentina tell Brazil "Oh, by the way, Portugal was with Toño. He says 'hi'."

Ei! Angst prompt of the day (this one I've been thinking for a while, if you don't mind).

After a CPLP meeting, Afonso suggests they can all have dinner together, but the rest of the Lusofam already made plans to go party with each other, so they tell him they're all a bit tired and busy to spare his feelings. They go out, have a great time and create a Whatsapp group to share photos of that night, mostly talk shit among themselves and, also, talk shit about Port.

This goes on for a few weeks, until they get a whatsapp message.

Afonso: I get it. Please take me out of this group.

Turns out, they acidentaly added him to the group and he has been reading their messages the whole time.

Oooooh the drama >:3

There would probably be a huge silence in the group chat, the equivalent of a whole room going silent (except for Guine Bissau writing "...puta que pariu"). Them Mozambique, out of panic, kicks Port's number out of the chat.

A solid minute later Macau calls for a group call and angrily questions Angola and Brazil (the other admins besides Mozambique) about it and Brazil admits he was rly drunk when he created it. He had just selected the numbers of the whole members not even caring to check if Port was there or not. Macau scolds him but Angola steps in to defend him accusing Macau of being part of it and also laughing with them and he, Angola and Brazil argue in the call.

Until Cape Verde shouts and remembers "all of us are guilty of it! But that's not important! Portugal is mad at us, we have to apologize!". Macau says he will go talk to him but Angola once again argues "so you can go and play the well behaved son again?! No! We made the group chat so me, Brazil and Mozambique will talk to him."

Brazil groaning "we will?"

Angola "Yes! So get your ass right here right now!"

So Angola and Mozambique arrive first (Brazil meanwhile is taking the presidential plane to his house, it's a emergency after all lol) and after talking with a neighbor they learn Port went to England's house.

Meanwhile Port is a sobbing mess in Arthur's lap. While Antonio huffs and mumbles that at least his kids make a (not so)secret gc to roast him. Meanwhile Chile and Argentina would talk shit about him with Spain in the room.

I remember watching no reservations about Mozambique and Anthony Bourdain was always trying to make the locals talk shit about Portugal but failing miserably lol At one point they were watching the celebrations for the day they started fighting for independence and Bourdain said to this important military guy "so this is the day you went to war against the portuguese" and the guy interrupted him and said "war- against colonialism, not the portuguese. the portuguese people are just like us" (1/2)

(2/2) and it made me cry I still think about it to this day WE DON'T DESERVE THOSE PEOPLE. And then I started thinking of hetalia and developing hcs for aph Portugal and aph Mozambique's relationship with each other but more importantly I'm just so happy they don't hold any hatred for us and know that we were also struggling under a dictatorship. It's interesting as well that Portugal and Mozambique both helped Timor's fight against Indonesian occupation and that was kind of our reconciliation

honestly portugal’s relationship with its former colonies has always been super fascinating to me and something I’ve never delved into enough, probably for fear of fucking it up, because it’s such a nuanced thing

also I’ve NEVER HAD THE PRIVILEGE of writing with an aph mozambique but I would die y’all please @ me if you find one

That episode made me very sad, but very happy at the same time pffff Also because of this one line a man said upon being asked about the war against Portugal:

Andalthough it doesn't erase history or what Portugal has done, it did mess with my heart.
