Any interesting facts about any of your state ocs of Argentina?
(I really adore your ocs of San Juan and Mendoza, they're so pretty <3)
Aw, thank you for showing interest on my province ocs! I'll just throw some random facts about them as I remember lol
•San Juan, Mendoza and San Luis refer to each other as siblings, but they're actually biological first cousins! Their indigenous parents were siblings. My friend Lou once depicted Mendoza and San Juan's mothers (San Luis' father would be their brother). Credits to her for the artwork!
•While Mendoza, San Juan and San Luis constitute the region of Cuyo, San Juan and Mendoza are purposefully designed to look more similar (with their earthy colour palettes) while San Luis might look like the odd one out. This is because San Luis doesn't share as many similarities as the other two due to his geographic location— his territory doesn't include the Andes mountains, and he has a strong cultural bond and influence from Córdoba as well, so even his cuyo accent is influenced by Córdoba's unique accent. He is also generally more individualistic and has pushed for industrial development better than his brothers.
(his eyes are brown, ignore that weird gray lol)
•Mendoza and San Juan are prone to earthquakes and both suffered from devastating earthquakes that shattered their core cities. Mendoza had to rebuild herself from scratch after a fatal one in 1861. Something similar happened to San Juan in 1944.
•These are San Juan and Mendoza's singing voices (credit to Lou again for the beautiful artwork!!). They're singing a classic tonada cuyana. Traditional music from Cuyo is often more lyrical and emotional than danceable.
•Buenos Aires has a chipped ear.
This was done to him by Entre Ríos, when he was attacked and defeated in the Battle of Caseros (1852). A defeat that changed the course of argentine history forever. It never healed.
I think I ran out of random facts about the provinces for now lol. Enjoy!

You mentioned in one of your posts that you make state ocs.
Would you like to tell me a bit about them? Once I tried to learn all the states, but I always forget, maybe some thoughts will help me remember :D
of course !! i actually have eighteen of them made already, but i do wanna preface saying i'm making them purely for fun- i'll dig properly into the full history of each at some point, but i just want to imagine them as people today. i've also asked some friends/family who live in some of the states for their opinions, and then use stereotypes and culture of the states for the others.
it'd be a bit too much to cover all of them in a single post, so i'll just cover my favorites.
first off is of course my home state, florida. he's a indigenous hispanic man with some black features as well (since the state has a large hispanic and black population- most of my state personifications represent the race makeup of said state). his human name is Félix Avilés-de Leon. I forget exactly who his first name comes from (they're a historical figure in St. Augustine, but i can't find them again) but his surnames are ofc from the founder of St. Augustine and that legendary ol' explorer Ponce de Leon.
Florida's essentially a copy of aph America in personality, minus the hero obsession. he's loud, excitable, wild and energetic. he's incredibly adventurous with food and will eat pretty much anything. he's also completely unafraid of most animals- he'll pick up a 250 pound alligator snapping turtle with his bare hands like it's a baby, and he'll gush over it too. he speaks english and spanish fluently, along with several indigenous languages. he has a pet alligator named flagler. he likes pirates, roller coasters and hot weather, and is extremely weak to the cold.
also, i base their ages off of first settlement (it's my canon and I get to decide how i make it 😤 ) which would make florida the oldest state, since St. Augustine was founded in 1565.
then there's massachusetts, who i made with help from a friend who lives in the state. his name's william revere, but he goes by bill. he's white with medium length brown hair that he often ties into a low ponytail, and he has an ahoge like alfred, but his represents Martha's Vineyard. he has glasses but prefers to wear contacts. he's super into hockey (even having a rivalry with canada over it) and also fights with new york a lot. he will also fight/argue with england every time they're together. he enjoys objectively bad movies and non-shooter video games, and owns a boston terrier. he also has a boston accent. ironically, considering his hockey rivalry with canada, he's also a big maple syrup fanatic.
then there's california, who i've gotten advice on from two different friends. she's a trans woman and indigenous hispanic- and she's actually siblings with a few states and mexico. mainly, she's the youngest triplet to arizona and texas. she and texas, of course, fight all the time over anything and everything. her human name is currently clara mendoza-vicario, though the surname may change.
california is a HUGE fan of films and movies. she has a massive film collection of over 50,000 films, and she's a passionate fan of the filmmaking process in general. she likes almost every single movie she's ever seen, and she will get into heated arguments with england over movies. she, new york and massachusetts have their own little movie club just to watch movies. her favorite type of movie are ones that had a lot of passion and creativity behind them- for example, films like the batman, into the spiderverse and puss in boots: the last wish. the more genuine passion behind a movie, the more she'll love it, no matter how objectively bad it is.
she's also incredibly economically smart. if the state of california was its own country, its economy would be fourth in the entire world, only behind china, japan and germany. she actually intimidates a few of the nations because of this. however, she's a genuinely friendly person, known for her sunny attitude. outside of movies, she loves music and the outdoors. she's just as good as florida at dealing with wild animals, she's just quieter about it.
the next state i made with two friends from there, and that's ohio. oddly enough, i don't have as much on him, but his name's Chris de La Salle and he has a heated rivalry with michigan. he's a calm, easy going guy who likes adventure, scouting, fishing and rollercoasters.
and with the help of one of my half sisters, i also made wisconsin. ironically, wisconsin is the drunkest state even though she's physically 20- no one knows how she gets her endless supply of alcohol and they've stopped trying to stop her. her human name is Carrie La Baye, and she has dirty blonde hair, violet blue eyes and a curl to boot. she was initially a french colony, so it surprises the others that she's the complete opposite of france- she's outdoorsy, a bit of a redneck, and almost always covered in dirt. she owns a number of ATVs and she loves cheese, beer, bratwurst, fish frys and hunting. she's pretty much unaffected by the cold. she also dislikes spicy food, and is probably one of the weakest to spices.
she's proud, confident, stubborn and non-emotional. she likes to help people and is very family oriented. she's not related to minnesota but is kind of an older sister figure to her. wisconsin and minnesota very much act like siblings- they're very similar in interests, bicker a lot, and get excited together. however they both hate to be mistaken as siblings.
and the last state i'll mention for now is new york ! he was a bit tricky to make considering NYC makes up a lot of the perception of the state, but i tried looking into the culture of upstate new york as well.
new york is an afro-latino man named Theodore Douglass, but he goes by theo (teddy is reserved for only very close friends). he speaks the most fluent languages of any state (english, spanish, cantonese, mandarin, russian, yiddish, haitian, italian, bengali, french, arabic, korean, hebrew, japanese and tagalog, along with a number of indigenous languages. he speaks some polish, hindi, german and greek). he's almost always fighting with new jersey and/or massachusetts. he's incredibly used to the cold, and is also a very efficient and skilled worker, though he doesn't like working. he thoroughly enjoys the arts- music, theater, dance, film, painting, drawing, sculpture- you name it, he loves it. he's surprisingly kinda friends with romano- the two have a mutual respect of each other, considering new york was very eager to learn all about italian culture and food, and was very welcoming to romano in general.
new york is a remarkably intelligent man with a bit of a superiority complex; he's proud and confident, like many of the states, and he's a very fast, diligent worker. he usually only cares about sports when up against his personal rivals, and he doesn't hold back with criticism. and similar to the vibes of nyc, he's surprisingly unbothered and very difficult to surprise.
once again, these are all made purely for fun and all off stereotypes, culture and vibes. i will say i've currently designed florida, california, ohio, maryland, arizona, massachusetts, new york. wisconsin, minnesota, illinois, new mexico, alaska, oregon, north carolina, south carolina, georgia, tennessee and alabama. if you do wanna hear about any of the others, let me know !! i love talking about them ^^

Characters in Ace Attorney #8
Time for another sequel but with a twist! Introducing Aro Attorney vs Professor Kirkland!
In this new story, this takes place after Electric Justice and we go back to our original protagonist Marie and her assistant Weiss as they travelled to Labyrinthia, a strange medieval-style city in a different world from their own that has recently been falling victim to a number of seemingly impossible occurrences. The town is controlled by a sinister individual known only as the Storyteller. Professor Kirkland has to solve the mysteries of the strange world he has found himself in, while Marie participates in "witch trials", which are similar to the court trials in our rest of the Aro Attorney series, to prove the innocence of her client, a girl named Atsuko “Akko” Kagari (Little Witch Academia) (Role: Espella Cantabella), who is accused of witchcraft. Unlike the trials he is used to, however, many familiar procedures of our Aro Attorney series, and Marie must contend with entire mobs of conferring witnesses.

And now let us introduce the cast:
Main Characters
Marie Mendoza
Weiss Schnee
England (Real Name: Professor Arthur Kirkland [in this AU]) (Hetalia Axis Power) (Role: Professor Layton)
- Arthur (as Marie called him) is a famous archaeology professor with a fascination for puzzles. This love of puzzles has solved numerous mysteries and put his name in the papers many times. He travels with his apprentice and younger brother Peter Kirkland (Sealand) (Hetalia Axis Power) (Role: Luke Triton). Under mysterious circumstances, both Peter and himself were transported to Labyrinthia, as were Marie and Weiss. Arthur is a calm, logical, intelligent, proud, and stubborn man with a love of puzzles and tea. He views himself as a gentleman, which means that he must always maintain his composure, even in dire situations, and act in a brave, kind, and caring manner; this disposition is also what motivates him to help others, which he normally does via his intelligence, but will use his athleticism and skill with a sword if needed. Arthur is very protective of his friends, which is most notably seen with his younger brother/apprentice, Peter. He also has a one sided crush with Marie at one point during their stay ay Labyrinthia.
Sealnd (Real Name: Peter Kirkland) (Hetalia Axis Power) (Role: Luke Triton)
- Peter is the self-proclaimed apprentice/younger brother of Professor Kirkland and follows him everywhere to assist him with his investigations. Peter is an eager, kind, and inquisitive assistant to Arthur, although his young age means that he is often impulsive and short-tempered, which conflicts with his desire to be a gentleman like Arthur, whom he idolizes. He is occasionally prone to giving cheeky remarks, which typically leads to a scolding from his mentor. In addition to his ability to speak with animals, Peter has a legendary appetite, adores teddy bears, and (much like his mentor) has a talent for puzzle-solving. He is very defensive of his title as Arthur's apprentice/younger brother, especially when others question it. He also wishes to become just like his big brother Arthur someday and is the adopted son of Tino Väinämöinen (Finland) and Berwald Oxenstierna (Sweden).
New Characters
Atsuko “Akko” Kagari (Little Witch Academia) (Role: Espella Cantabella)
- Akko is an inhabitant of Labyrinthia who sought out Arthur Kirkland's help after she found herself pursued by witches. She is a young woman accused of witchcraft who also becomes Marie's client. Akko lived much of her early life in a small town that had been founded by her father, Soun Tendo (Real Name: Soun Tendo Kagari [in this AU]) (Ranma) (Role: Arthur Cantabella), and his friend Oscar Blanch (Role: Newton Belduke). Blanch also had a daughter named Blaise (Blaise the Cat) (Real Name: Blaise Blanch [in this AU]) (Sonic) (Role: Eve Belduke aka Darklaw), and Akko became close friends with her. During an expedition, Soun and Blanch discovered a large, silver bell and constructed a bell tower in the town for it. They designed the tower so that even the young Akko and Blaise could ring the bell if they wanted to, and designed a set of special keys for it that the girls wore as pendants. Soun and Blanch intended to ring the bell for the first time after the annual Fire Festival held in the town, but Akko wanted to sound the bell herself first. In an attempt to discourage her, Soun told her a cautionary tale about Bezella, the mythical great witch who was honored at the Fire Festival, and explained that she might possess Akko if she heard the bell ring. Undeterred, Akko sneaked into the bell tower with Blaise on the night of the festival. Once there, however, she began to worry about what her father had said and, despite goading from Blaise, was unwilling to ring the bell. She decided to watch the festival from atop the tower instead, when she suddenly lost consciousness, hearing the sound of a bell ringing before passing out. When she eventually awoke, the entire town was on fire. From her position lying on the floor, Akko saw the blaze through a dragon fretwork in the tower and believed it to be an actual dragon, coming to the conclusion that she really had summoned Bezella. The shock of what she saw caused her to pass out again. By the time Akko recovered, Soun and Blanch, who had been on another expedition at the time, were standing above her, asking what had happened, whilst Blaise tearfully told them not to be mad at her friend. The entire town had been destroyed and Akko, Blaise, Soun, and Blanch were the only survivors. The event left emotionally scarred and she began to believe not only that she'd rung the bell, but that she had been possessed by Bezella. She spent the rest of the following day in her room, refusing to speak or even eat. Desperate to help his daughter and with nothing else working, Soun decided to write a story about Bezella sending witches to do her bidding and how they in turn were banished by the townsfolk. He read this to Akko and explained that Bezella, witches, and magic truly existed, but came from outside the town and that everything he wrote came true. Seeing that this had gotten a positive response out of Akko, he wrote another story and asked Blanch and Blaise, who themselves had been trying to come to terms with what had happened, to act it out. After seeing this, Akko smiled and whispered to herself "It wasn't me". Realizing this was working, Soun continued to write stories and paid more people to help act them out, as well as renovate the town. The renovated town eventually became known as "Labyrinthia". Blaise became the first Shade: individuals responsible for creating what appeared to be the "magic" being cast by witches. She also became the town's "High Inquisitor" to battle the "witches", and took the new name of "Dark Cat" in order to prevent Akko from remembering her past. Soun became the town's ruler and took the pseudonym of "the Storyteller", while Blanch became an "alchemist"/doctor. Akko is kind, gentle, funny and well-intentioned. She places a great deal of trust in others and is willing to sacrifice herself if it means putting an end to the suffering of other people. Before her trial as the Great Witch Bezella, Akko had many suppressed memories, particularly concerning the so-called "Legendary Fire". When presented with any duress related to her being "Bezella", she would enter a trance-like state where her gaze becoming unfocused and distant. In this state, she was susceptible to suggestion, and it was believed that if pushed even farther she would reach an almost catatonic state. This condition persisted from childhood until the interference of Arthur and Marie allowed her to confront and make sense of her memories of the Legendary Fire that was the source of her trauma. Upon discovering that Labyrinthia was created for her sake, she blamed herself for the suffering everyone has endured and became so distressed that she attempted to commit suicide, despite her father's pleas, although her attempt was interrupted.
Soun Tendo (Real Name: Soun Tendo Kagari [in this AU]) (Ranma) (Role: Arthur Cantabella aka The Storyteller)
- Soun Tendo Kagari, better known as the Storyteller, was the creator and ruler of Labyrinthia. He supposedly had the ability to make whatever story he wrote come to pass in the real world. The Storyteller is an intelligent, creative, and obsessive, having made it his goal in life to save his daughter from her self-imposed mental trauma by any means necessary. He is also something of a control freak, growing upset when he discovered Arthur was introduced to Labyrinthia with his memories intact and sending robotic knights to attack him (not realizing that Dark Cat had long hijacked the Story). Despite seemingly displaying a cold attitude towards his daughter Akko, in reality he cares immensely about her, the entire Labyrinthia Project having been created solely to treat her delusions and depression.
Shadow (Shadow the Hedgehog) (Real Name: Siyahi ‘Shadow’ Lancer [in this AU]) (Sonic) (Role: Zacharias Barnham)
- Siyahi or Shadow for short is a local Inquisitor and the head of Labyrinthia's Order of Knights, as well as an inquisitor in the town's witch trials. During Marie's time in Labyrinthia, Shadow faced off against her as inquisitor two times. A serious, stoic and dedicated man, Shadow is viewed as something of a celebrity in Labyrinthia due to his passion in defending the town from witches. In court, he cut an imposing figure owing to his wearing of a suit of armor and his frequent use of metaphors revolving around swords when speaking (e.g., noting that Marie has "finally grown skilled with his blade, however, it has dulled"). Shadow also appears to enjoy giving his rivals nicknames, referring to Marie as "M’lady White Knight" and Arthur as "Sir Eyebrows". Like many of the citizens of Labyrinthia, Shadow had some understanding of logic prior to the arrival of Marie, and based his accusations strictly on the words of witnesses and available evidence. Because of this, he would become irritated when a witness was shown to be lying or withholding evidence from the court. He would also become annoyed with Arthur and Marie when the two presented theories without the ability to back them up. Partway into Akko’s first witch trial, Shadow was introduced to the concept of "logic" by Marie. After this, he was seen to be considerably more skillful and began to present logical counter-arguments. Arthur noted that, despite having no prior comprehension of the concept beforehand, Shadow was able to quickly learn how logic worked and use it against Marie in court. But Marie’s Eagle Eye and sense of knowledge is too quick for Shadow to comprehend in trail.
Blaise (Blaise the Cat) (Real Name: Blaise Blanch [in this AU]) (Sonic) (Role: Eve Belduke aka Darklaw)
- Blaise, better known by the pseudonym Dark Cat, was the High Inquisitor of Labyrinthia and tasked with ridding the town of witches. She was also the only person normally able to meet directly with the town's "creator", the mysterious Storyteller. Blaise was the daughter of Oscar Blanch (Role: Newton Belduke), and was the childhood friend of Akko. They lived in a small town that Newton and Akko's father, Soun, had created. During an expedition, Blanch and Soun discovered a large, silver bell and constructed a bell tower in the town for it. They intended to ring the bell for the first time after the annual Fire Festival held in the town, but young Akko wanted to sound the bell herself first. On the night of the festival, she asked Blaise to sneak over to the tower with her, as they each had one half of key necessary to access the belfry. Once there, however, Akko found herself unable to ring the bell, as she was put off by a cautionary tale Soun had told her about an evil witch called Bezella who would possess her if she rung the bell. Akko therefore decided to watch the festival instead. Blaise, frustrated by her friend's actions, decided to ring the bell herself, but an unusual condition brought about by a substance in the area's groundwater caused her, and everyone else in the town, to fall unconscious the moment the bell rang. Tragically, with everyone in the town unconscious, there was no-one to keep the large bonfire set up as part of the festival under control. By the time the two girls had recovered, the entire town was ablaze. Blanch and Soun, who had been on another expedition at the time, arrived home and began searching for survivors, but found only Blaise and Akko, the latter of whom had fainted from shock. Not wanting to get into trouble, Blaise claimed that it was Akko who rang the bell, and tearfully begged her father and Soun not to blame her friend for what had happened. The two adults suspected Blaise was the one responsible, but couldn't bring themselves to punish her. The incident emotionally scarred both girls, with Blaise eventually stating that Akko was the culprit so many times that she convinced herself that it was true, mentally blocking her role in causing the fire. Sometime later, Soun began writing stories about witches in order to cheer Akko up and convince her that it had been "Bezella" who had started the fire. To this end, he asked both Blanch and Blaise to help re-enact his stories, eventually fabricating an entirely new town called Labyrinthia in place of the one that had burned down. Blaise herself became the first Shade; individuals responsible for creating what appeared to be the "magic" being cast by witches. She also became the town's "High Inquisitor" to battle the "witches", and took the new name of "Dark Cat" in order to prevent Akko from remembering her past. Arthur became the town's ruler and took the pseudonym of "the Storyteller", while Blanch became an "alchemist"/doctor. Although Akko had blocked her memories of the fire and Blaise, some part of her did still remember her old friend, as she eventually got a black cat she named Blaze and would refer to as her "best friend". While initially fully supportive of the Labyrinthia Project, Dark Cat and her father gradually grew increasingly disturbed by the callous and oblivious way the Storyteller treated the volunteers in the project, as well as his habit of leaving direct administration for longer and longer periods of time, only returning to distribute his stories during parades. Eventually, after a lightning strike destroyed the "cloak of invisibility" (a pure black fabric that the inhabitants had been hypnotized into viewing as transparent) concealing the Bell Tower, Blanch took his own life due to the overwhelming guilt he felt concerning the project, especially after having witnessed first-hand the victimization a "witch" called Jane Loom (Role: Jean Greyerl). Enraged and embittered, Dark Cat blamed the Storyteller and began to plot against him, vowing to make him experience the pain and sorrow that his "stories" had put her and the town through. Dark Cat decided that the best way to get her revenge was through Akko. Having completely blocked out the fact that she was the one responsible for the now-so-called "Legendary Fire", she deduced that her childhood friend must have caused it. Taking advantage of the Storyteller's long absences, Dark Cat began to rewrite his stories, slowly turning the town against Akko. She knew, however, the best cause of action would be to reveal what she believed to be the truth of the Legendary Fire to the town. Having heard about the famed puzzle-solver and professor of archaeology, Arthur Kirkland, and the mysteries he had solved, Dark Cat vowed to bring him to Labyrinthia so that he could reveal the town's secrets for her. Her chance came three months after her father's death, when Kayla Winchester (Role: Carmine Accidenti), a former student of Arthur's, arrived in Labyrinthia and managed to smuggle Akko out of the town. Disguised as the "Great Witch", Dark Cat, alongside several of her Shades, pursued Winchester and Akko all the way to London and eventually ambushed and kidnapped Akko in Arthur's office, where the latter was seeking his help. She then headed to Tower Bridge and waited for Arthur to arrive. As expected, Arthur and his apprentice/younger brother, Peter, managed to locate Akko and rescue, although they also managed to hide her in a passing freighter moments before Dark Cat transported them to Labyrinthia. By the time Dark Cat was able to find Akko again, she had been arrested on suspicion of assaulting the freighter's chef. Forced to take the incident to court, Dark Cat pretended to be a school teacher and brainwashed Akko into thinking she was one of her students. Before the trial began, she informed the prosecution and defense that Akko had already pleaded guilty, intending to take her back to Labyrinthia without undue suspicion. However, the defense attorney she had chosen, Marie Mendoza, refused to accept the plea, and eventually proved that Akko was innocent, leading to the possibility of a third person. With her plan intercepted and seeing no other option, Dark Cat transported Marie and Weiss Schnee, her assistant, to Labyrinthia along with Akko, and "wrote" them into the "story" as apprentice bakers. Marie, Weiss, and Akko lost all memory of the trial, with their new memories leading them to believe that they had known each other for five years. But they’re memories came back thanks to Arthur and Peter, Dark Cat revealed her intentions and Shadow arrested her afterwards, she revealed her intentions on getting revenge towards the Storyteller.

Young Mendoza (argentinian province) during colonial days! 😊 I read an article about women's roles in Mendoza's early history and, to no one's surprise, women had an extremely limited and domestic lifestyle. However, there was a special type of autonomy that came exclusively through the region's main economic activity: viticulture (aka wine making).
Both in Chile and Mendoza (Mza belonged to Chile back then) women were able to cultivate their own vineyards and run their own "pulperías" (shops) and it wasn't looked down upon, in fact, it was encouraged. By "their own" I don't mean they were able to own property themselves, it clealy meant their husband's or father's domains. Other regions where activities such as cattle raising and mining were predominant, women didn't enjoy such freedoms.
I always take in mind a region's economy because it's crazy how much it can impact a character's personality and even their relationships with others. In Esther's case, wine is a core element of her personality lmao it's the most precious thing of her identity and she'll always be grateful for it. It might make her a bit one-dimensional sometimes, but we're a simple province 😂 we out here just chillin in the sun and bragging about our landscapes.
Being the older kid in charge of the Cuyo region and this little degree of autonomy shaped her character as an extremely utilitarian little girl, always looking for a way to work and contribute and overall be seen as a responsible person, so as to "be worthy" of her authority towards her little brothers. Which also made her mature quicker, she reached the age of 10-11 way before her brothers, even though they were born around the same time. I imagine she probably had her "own" shop where she sold the wines she helped to make and home-made tortitas! What an entrepeneur Another small headcanon: she decorated that apron with ruffles and a pattern herself 😂she's as vain as she is a pretentious hard worker haha
