It’s Republic Day in Armenia today! ❤️💙🧡 It has been 103 years since the founding of the First Republic of Armenia in 1918.

I’d like to use this post to also spread awareness about what has been going on in Armenia. This past year has been incredibly difficult for Armenians, and it would mean a lot to me if you could check out some resources in the links below and possibly donate if you have some extra funds. շնորհակալություն! ❤️

Who and what is Artsakh

Massachusetts: The population there is mainly Armenian, so after World War One, Armenia claimed Artsakh. Then Azerbaijan stepped in and there was a short war in the 20s, before the Soviet Union ate the entire area for breakfast.

In 1991 the Nogorno-Karabakh War started, which was basically a continuation of the conflict from earlier in the century. Artsakh declared independence, and Azerbaijan didn’t like that. The war ended in 1994. The world still recognizes Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan, but some people support him. His best friends are Transnistria, Abkhazia and South Ossetia, other disputed countries. I think  South Ossetia is recognized by a few UN members but I’m not sure. All four of them support each other. Then of course, a few states recognize Artsakh. There’s Rhode Island, Maine, and I, California, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, and Michigan. Personally, it reminds me of the Revolution. Um, anyway, hope this helps a bit.
