Hey, have you heard Theos podcast? Is it just me or did you find it to be be really smug and self-congratulatory? I mean, as much a i adored Juice and theos portrayal of him, im pretty much done with following him as a person.I really dont get his claims that hes so disciplined and hard working, hes been in a few very small films in the last several years.

I can still see it, especially if they have Piotr as a student/new introduction. Illia has a look to him that could mesh well with early Colossus. If not him, then definitely someone similar. Has he ever acted before?
@osmiumamygdala since its been rumoured that an x men film will begin production in mid 2025 im again hoping Colossus will be included in it and i again am thinking of fancasting for the character. I still think Gymnast Illia kovtun would be ideal physically what do you think?

Do you think Emma frost and colossus would make an interesting couple? I was just rereading astonshing x men and there where a few scenes where she was clearly ogling him and commenting on how handsome and muscular he is. Id imagine it would be an opposites attract thing.
Hello!
I do think they’d be an interesting couple - very opposites attract as you mentioned! I’m not sure how feasible it would be long term, just because Emma Frost is a very conniving sort, and Piotr really doesn’t seem the type to vibe with that, but I do think that there would be some very interesting chemistry. @osmiumamygdala what do you think?

AU on Piotr Rasputin/Colossus after he takes the Legacy Virus Cure that Beast created.
He isn't dead and It's didn't take him, but instead Russia got a hold of his body and brought him to a secret facility where they keep mutants to use for the better of their country.
Let's say this facility is the very unknown Leviathan. (Equivalent to SHIELD, Hydra, and the Hand.
He was revived and kept in a stasis for a year, after the year was over he was awaked to the harsh reality that he was "dead" to the world and now resides in Leviathan compound...deep in the Siberian Tundra
He will be subjected to years of torture and training (think of it almost like what @apep40 wrote in the story about Colossus joining Weapon X, but geared more towards him being a killer)
He'll fight it on the beginning, but soon they'll pull out the stops of that they are watching his friends and what family he had left and will have no issue in taking them out.. even if it means starting a fight with SHIELD and the heroes.
His training would include: marksmanship, hand to hand, infiltration, espionage, execution, no power combating, manipulation
Only succeeding in: close range gun use, hand to hand, infiltration, execution, and manipulation
Towards the end of his training (let's say 4 years or so..) he is sent out on his first mission. This mission is to be secretive, he isn't to reveal who he is, but he manages to leave a symbol marked in the wall pointing to Leviathan..
He is to be punished for any treason, or what they think is treason. Keep Colossus in line and loyal to Leviathan.
After several successful missions, based mostly in Russia and the surrounding regions, he is allowed to serve on missions outside of the designated area.
This is where his identity is noticed. No need to hide it, Leviathan isn't worried on him running anymore (his loyalty is basically brainwashed into him like Bucky's).
He is labeled and watched by SHIELD now for nearly a year before letting the hero community know that he is alive. This doesn't go over well till Fury shows them why they kept the news hidden.
Colossus is a cold blooded (maybe?) killer. Who serves Leviathan. He blames his friends and family for never finding him and the hell he went through
Personally I think he would not go by Colossus anymore, but just with name (Mr. Rasputin, Piotr, Nikolia - a call to his father and his middle name, etc..)
I am currently writing a story on this, but these are just some of the highlights I have plotted out. Let me know if you got any ideas!

I was tagged by @creativefiend19 (thank you!) to post seven -ish sentences from my current WIP and tag seven others. A bit from the first chapter of Hand in Hand to Hell, Christmas 1921.
Clara waited until Richard walked back into the kitchen before she leaned over and grabbed Tommy's hand.
"Richard is making us the breakfast his mommy made him on Christmas when he was little," she hissed at the boy.
"In Witscotsin?"
Clara nodded yes.
"Is it pancakes?" Tommy asked.
It would be so much better if it were pancakes, Clara thought. "No. Codfish cakes."
Tommy's eyes grew wide. "Pancakes made outta fish?"
As good a description as any, Clara decided. "Rather like that, yes. Listen to me, we are going to eat them. And we are going to pretend they are delicious."
Tommy shook his head. "I ain't so that good at pretending."
"I am not that good at pretending," Clara corrected automatically. "And you best improve quickly because Richard is going to think we love them."
Tagging: @apep40 @manhattan-mari, @runn0ft, @fancykraken, @flysafepapi AND EVERYONE ELSE. Because I do want to read it.
#tag game#tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow#is now a saga#hand in hand to hell#I should chose shorter titles#clara thompson#tommy darmody

I remember, around 2 years back, finding this video of a Let me in au in YouTube. It was basically scenes from the movie with some music over it. I remember it being called "abby kenny its ok". It was pretty hard to follow but I think the concept was that abby fell in love with kenny instead of owen (and I think abby ended up going back to owen at the end idk) but for some reason I cant find it anymore :/
Where did the uploader go? Whyd they take it down? I'm so intrested in the concept now like how did it end? It was basically the pool scene at the end but with the context before did she kill owen or Kenny? What was it about cmon😭
@apep40 idk if you knew about the movie at the time or not but did you ever see it?
#let me in 2010#i know i didnt imagine it bc i remember sneaking my phone in class to watch it#let the right one in

What's your favourite portrayal of Colossus, in terms of how he's drawn i mean? For me its how he's drawn in x men origins Colossus and astonishing x men. The way he's drawn is how i default when i picture him in my head.
Some of my favorite styles for him are Adi Granov, Alex Ross, and Rick Leonardi:
As for my default image of him, it's gotta be between Leonardi up there, Jim Lee:
Dave Cockrum:
And if I'm being honest, the styles used in the Krakoa era/X-Force series are getting there, too.

Do you think Colossus was really into wrestling/sambo growing up as a boy? For me its as good an explanation as any as why to why Piotr was already a good fighter and really muscular when he joined the x men despite being a civilian teenage boy.
I like the idea of Piotr being interested in wrestling! I especially like it in conjunction with the concept of Mikhail being the one to introduce it to him and the two of them rough housing the way brothers tend to.
Imagine, before Piotr started getting big, Mikhail swooping in on him to put him in a hold.

Do you think when the MCU adapt the X men and hopefully adapt Colossus theyll change Piotr nationality from Russian to Ukranian or Polish or just a generic Eastern Europe background to avoid controversary?
Forgive me in advance because I am going to vomit out a deluge of my thoughts and feelings on this matter, and (as is characteristic of me) it is going to run long.
Short answer? Do I think the MCU might pull something like that? This is Hollywood we're talking about, so I wouldn't be surprised. Optimistically, I hope for better.
Long answer: I would hope with the very building blocks of my person and psyche that one would not attempt that goofiness.
I've said it before, I'll say it again, I'll repeat it verbatim until I'm exhausted and have to scrawl it out in dirt because I choose this battle: Colossus, as a character, was conceived during the Cold War. People didn't like Russia then, very justifiably. There were MANY, MANY horrible things the Soviet Union was responsible for at that time. Prejudices all around were ASTRONOMICAL. And here was Colossus, a heroic Russian character, there to remind you, "hey! These people are still people! Even when we're scared! Even when tensions are high! Even when groups are enacting horrible acts! Individuals still exist, and they are people!" This general attitude is integral to the themes of the comics Colossus was brought into. I think anyone could see how changing Piotr's background because of "controversy" is a kick to the teeth and backasswards with this in mind.
Colossus' Russian home and heritage are important to him and fit within the general overarching ideas of the X-Men. Where Piotr comes from informs us of his perception, things he might have seen or done, and ideas he might have. Throughout the comics, there are multiple points where the differences between him and his peers are observed. It's also obvious he's been exposed to propaganda in his home country, and we see how his teammates handle or fail to handle it. Not to mention, he is shown in direct opposition to Russia and its ideals occasionally, and he also faced prejudice and pushback for his nationality in America concurrently.
AT THE SAME TIME-- While all of the above is true, you don't have to focus on Piotr's country of origin to make a compelling story or character arc with him. It's a PART of him, like his mutation, his art, his farming, his being a brother. No story with Colossus needs to center on (or limit itself to) just one specific facet of his personality. He could incidentally be Russian, as it were (like Deadpool's Colossus).
Leading to; the MCU will probably not have Colossus as a very integral character. In cases like this, historically, the MCU might choose to sand away the uncomfortable parts of a character or make edits to them to ensure they are more palatable/better fit to the story at hand. For this reason, he very well could still be Russian (there ARE Russian characters in the MCU already, after all, I wouldn't see the point in making a fuss of it now), or they could change him for "simplicty's" sake. They might not even give it that much thought.
For a final addition: I would HOPE the minds behind the MCU have the sense to understand that Russia is not interchangeable with Ukraine or Poland and vice versa. Because... those places are not the same. At all.
#colossus#piotr rasputin#bug chitters into the void#ramble#long post#apep40#ask#character discussion#I'll be honest the MCU is not a talking point I feel very sturdy speaking on#also I have this same attitude towards other X-Men and possible adaptations with them as well#especially the ANAD gang#if they manage to fuck up say Kurt or Ro's origins I will just do a whole backflip out of anger#I'm not expecting 1 to 1 adaptations cause it just ain't possible#but I like my adaptations with pride joy and respect towards the source material#like all good gentlemen should

Question, what do you think was the point of Juices naked pushups in season 7. I mean i know the real reason was just an excuse for fan service and to show off Juices ass and muscles but do you think it was suppoused to be thematic? To show Juices mental deterioration and how vulnerable he was?
I do! Obviously it was 90% fan service, but I think it was something Juice was doing to try and focus his mind and slow things down. He was in a really bad place, and I think they were utilizing exercise as a way to take his mind away from the bad for just a few minutes.

Do you ever find it odd that Piotr one of the most shy, sensitive and innocent character in marvel wears one of the most revealing and skimpy costume of any male character in all of comics? I really wish there was a canon explanation of what exactly possessed the professor to design and craft an outfit like that for a teenage boy.
Oh it is absolutely mind boggling. Things in those early comic days weren't exactly air-tight, and you'd have questionable things bubble up from time to time, but moving past that...
Imagine being saved from a catastrophe by this gigantic metal adonis, his got his ass Ziploc packaged in red booty shorts and he's got the red knee high boots. He's got maybe a thread of fabric around his chest at this point.
And he bends down and talks to you in the quietest voice on the PLANET about art or something?? Like??
I know, logically, in my mind, that the costume is based off of a circus strongman outfit, but PETEY PUREHEART here is just lugging around his fat fucking silver hams on display like it ain't nothing!?
THIS IS THE DUDE WHO GETS FLUSTERED AT BEING CALLED "SWEETIE!"
It's another wild dichotomy. Naive, innocent, but you WILL see his ass, Lord help you!
We know he loves his first costume, because he was grinning ear to ear like a dope when he put it on. Every outfit he's worn since has drawn inspiration from that first one. He pokes fun at it lovingly every now and then, especially the shoulder pads.
And his sister also wears skimpy outfits, which Piotr does not bat an eye at! Wild!
Is it because the artists want to slip this metal dude into something revealing? Oh, no doubt, but the possible reasoning behind it is so fun to poke at.
#colossus#piotr rasputin#apep40#long#ramble#bug chitters into the void#this glitched out the last time i tried to post it so second time's the charm#i have very respectful feelings towards this mans ass#like patriotic feelings#but the science behind it is outside of my wordly grasp#kfkdmsnsnsamna

I sure can try and post some panels here! There's a lot to pick from-- comics include quite a bit of kidnapping and bondage, always have, always will!-- so this is just some of them! Also, I want to take this moment to recommend @marvelheroperil ! There's a whole collection of panels like these over in that direction, and they update pretty frequently!

Which actor do think would be the best choice to play Colossus? For me its Florian Munteanu, the guy who played dragos son in creed 2, he meets most of the criteria. Hes extremely tall and muscular, hes eastern european, his character was rather sensitive under a stoic, grim exterior which is befitting.
Florian is one of a handful I've felt strongly for Colossus, for all of the reasons you've listed!
Another is Henry Cavill, mostly for looks.
And of course, I was fond of Stefan Kapičić for his voice in Deadpool. And you know what? I think he'd make a pretty good face for him, too, if he really wanted.

Your comic strip got me thinking of my story again and more specifically what traumatized Piotr the most. For me, its the suit, the enemas, and what he was forced to do to both gavin and katharine. What did you find most traumatizing for Piotr?
I do think the situation with Gavin, what he was forced to do with Katharine, and the suit would be the most scarring events for him. They were so personal. And the way he was treated like an object-- how could he fully recover from that?
Which, if I'm being honest, is one of the points your fic makes that I'm most grateful for. It's so upfront and unavoidable, how much Colossus is treated like a commodity. Because he gets this treatment in the comics, but on a generally less extreme level. The way your story raises it to the forefront and tackles it head on really pleases me.

Question, when Piotr arrived in the usa which luxury do you think he was most surprised by, compared to his austere life in the soviet union?
Ahh, let's see... Note that I'm no expert on life in the rural Siberian countryside lol...
The transition between poor soviet farmer to Xavier's pupil taking board in a mansion was an interesting one for him.
He was stunned by the amount, expense, and quality of the clothing he would be offered. There is one panel that comes to mind, when he's dressed up for a fancy occasion, all he can do is think to himself how the fabric on his back is worth more than his father could ever make. He also notes others' nonchalance about just... Tossing old, torn clothing away, whereas his family would have fought to save it with needle and thread, just to make it last a while longer.
The variety in a grocery store! Goodness! This boy would have numbered opportunities to visit a grocer back in Russia, because his family lived out of the way, but it feels scarce compared to what he finds in America!
Which brings up the next point: transportation. Anybody who's lived in the isolated countryside can tell you that, you live out there? You're probably stuck roughing it on your own. No business will want to deliver to you. So Piotr's mind is blown by the fact that he can just up and walk to get what he needs, when he needs it. He can use the phone to call for a pizza, and in half an hour, it's at the front door! If there's a plumbing issue, you don't have to grab the tool kit and pray you remember how to fix it; you can call a plumber to do that!
