Dust:

* How are you alive man? Like not radioactive and shit-? That is a LOT of energy drinks. And you can’t fool this guy. He’s very observant so he’ll immediately notice that you still get tired.

* He honestly might just teach you the bad causes of drinking too many. Nah really he will sit you down with all the research he did to explain everything. (Quite endearing really. He really wants to make sure you’re ok❤️)

* Now he’s not gonna force you to stop. It’s really up to you in the end. But he will still be making sure you are ok. And he suggests healthier options too! See? Now you can enjoy what you love but in a much healthier way!

* He’s not very talkative but the way he shows how much he cares for you is very sweet. Don’t worry your skellie too much! He’s quite the Worrywart!

Horror:

* Boyo is always trying to take a sip from your can. He’s just curious on why you love it so much. So much that he is literally giving you puppy eyes so that you’ll give him a sip (which I know you succumbed to the cuteness-). He found it pretty cool!

* And yet…..you still cannot get away with saying “Oh I’m not tired! Just waiting for it to kick in! 👀💦” yeah sweetie Horror is also very observant. He’ll make you get sleep. And you can ONLY get an energy drink if you get proper sleep in!

* He knows you love the drinks but he’d rather you get proper sleep first! Then you can have any you like! Why drink to get energy when you can just sleep Y’know? That’s what he thinks anyway. But he wants you happy too so you always wake up with an energy drink ready for you! ☺️

* He just wants you to be happy and healthy!

Killer:

* Bruh. You know DAMN well he’s probably the one supplying you the damn drinks- if you thought you was bad? Think again- he literally has an unlimited supply in god knows where in that room of his…..

* Let’s be honest: He drinks WITH you. Both of you happily drinking together on the couch watching anime or playing games. But he’ll drop a few hints about “Heh might wanna slow down…”

* Now just because he kind of (is) a bad influence, doesn’t mean he won’t keep an eye on you. If he sees how it affects you, he’ll try to moderate how much to give you. Because he may be a lil shit….but he cares about you a lot.

* You can always be guaranteed to have fun with this guy but also taken care of no matter what!

Error:

* Glitchy boi would be a straight up dick talking about you have an addiction meanwhile he’s on his 15th chocolate bar himself- I’m pretty sure he steals your drinks too-

* And you can bet he’s taking those drinks away if you’re overdoing it. He’ll have multiple excuses for keeping it from you…..but really he just wuvs you and doesn’t want you feeling all sluggish because he worries for you 🥺. Will he admit that? HA! No-

* Though he will easily give in with a little….convincing. Puppy eyes and promising more chocolates? He’ll eventually give in. But he also makes you promise to at least take it easy with the drinks.

* Grumpy hobo man may be a lil sassy but he means well!

Nightmare:

* He’s probably the only one who doesn’t see why the hell you like these drinks. It tastes like battery acid…..(says the guy drinking black coffee-). He didn’t really care at first but the MOMENT he sees how groggy you get? Oh you fucked up-

* He’s immediately hiding your stash and you WILL be scolded if you ask about it. And he’s dragging your ass to bed to make sure you get proper sleep. Right after he makes sure you are properly hydrated first.

* I can imagine even as his S/o, these moments can be quite unexpected but he was like…..mother henning you. And the way he stays by your side to make sure you’re ok makes your heart melt❤️

* Even the king of negativity can have a sweet side!

Cross (Lil bonus boi✨):

* Well he does like a few energy drinks himself especially for a game night or during morning training. He can drink as much as you without really realizing it then feels guilty about it but laughs it off.

* But it’s definitely a different story when he notices how sleepy you still are especially after the amount you drank. He gets a little concerned and asks if you’re okay. When he learns the energy drinks don’t work on you, he thought of a few ideas…..

* He looked for alternatives that could help you wake up much better. Like working out with him and eating a few healthier meals! But you both do have days to splurge on your favorite drink. It’s only fair!

* He didn’t want you to miss out on what you loved! So he helped you find a balance! He just loves you so!❤️

I need more morally grey Warriors tbh. I want a Warrior that will do morally questionable things to achieve a goal that furthers the betterment of a greater picture, whether that be to get the shadow or to defeat a small group of trouble makers. I like the idea that at the end of the day Warriors, due to environment and societal pressure, will do what it takes, even if it’s ugly to protect and serve those he cares for.

Probably sounds so out of character tho but I like the thought.

The joys of being anonymous

this is definitely one way ive seen people explore his character, but one of the things we’ve REALLY seen from him especially in recent updates is how kind and gentle he is. Like yes he will absolutely get done what needs to get done, he’s the one who would be able to shove emotions aside the fastest and get the job finished, but I don’t think he’d ever be able to rationalize something like causing harm to others for the greater good, he’d spend an INSANE amount of time trying to find a work around to save both (now i DO have a fic with Evil Wars planned out where this is like. The EXACT line of reasoning that led him down the dark path alskkdkdkd, his desperate need to protect the kingdom and feel like he had more control over his situation and life led to him taking over it and making several other bad choices, but that fic is a whole “what if” scenario where Regular Wars and Evil Wars kinda face off because somehow there ended up bein’ two of him and yeah aldkdksl i could do a whole yap about that but it is after 3 am where I live and my brain stopped working)

I do agree that he definitely works hard towards the big picture and he’d be able to force himself to make upsetting decisions or focus on the task at hand instead of letting his emotions cause him to freeze in battle (which is why I firmly believe in him being more of the team medic than Hyrule because his ability to not panic and to focus on HELPING is probably unmatched, plus I think he would’ve gotten actual training to deal with injuries in the military. and also its just a hc of mine that he was trained as a field medic before all the Hero Business uprooted his life.) but anyway I personally think at the end of the day he cares so much for others that he’d try to find a way to save everyone. This man carried fairy food around with him the ENTIRE time and had it in a fairly easy place to access so that he could feed any fairy they MIGHT come across, he’s a big sweetheart who is gonna fight for the bigger picture and all the little things along the way. if he’s sacrificing anything for the greater good, it’s himself (i wuv him very much, he’s my special guy and as you can see i am so so normal about him *squeezes him like a rubber chicken and pats him on the head*)

but yeah that’s an interesting idea to entertain. it would be so easy for him after everything he’d been through to be cold and more hardened by the war and trauma, and it definitely could’ve shaped him to be that way, but he truly is a respectable and honorable person and I really like how he’s written in LU :)

As said by our lovely Pookie, Leah is Bucky #1 only ‘girl’bestfriend, and she takes pride of that but for Bucky he might clueless and just rolls with it because well, she is his bestfriend. Lenovo is toxic, possessive, manipulative (kinda bcs she’s taking advantage), and ofc a bad friend. I feel like from the beginning it wasn’t a conquest to be’friend’ him but to be—in—a—relationship with him, but Lenovo couldn’t just force herself in his life as a ‘girlfriend’, so the only way to break Buckybaby shell was to be his ‘actual’ friend and then leeches her way in bit by bit but then Bucky will always saw her as a sister figure (which is sad but oh well Lucinta, you are not reader)

About Leah’s misogyny not liking girly girly thing, that shit is there bcs well, as a pick me girl you have to be a girl the likes baddie baddie thing ONLY (speaking like a true pick me girl connoisseur). Bucky is the wintah soldiah! He a baddie, ofc Lenovo is going to act baddie baddie too (well she’s bad at it). Plus, it’s an attack mechanism. Major is a queen, she's threatened!! Lastly, abt Zade and Rand, again being the good friend. It’s also normal. I mean, imagine having a real Bucky Barnes in real life sans the appearance and change Avenger to cops/military. IMAGINE. I really, really love Bucky and Major just being completely and totally head over heels for each other from the go, you know? Like, they both know they are kind of rushing into this, but they're both coming from places where they felt like they wasted enough time being unhappy (Major with her loveless marriage and Bucky being, you know, a brainwashed assassin, lol) that they just want to go for it.

Bucky Junior's approval for Major is highly appreciated, lol. He has definitely given her a standing ovation, lol.

deLulu has been a good friend to Bucky in the past, just as long as it's not involving any of the girls he previously dated, lol. She's got this idea in her head that their relationship's gonna play out like a typical best friends to lovers fan fiction or something, and that she just has to let it progress naturally. She's in love with the very idea of it, more than she's actually in love with Bucky. She wants to live that story. Honestly, the male main character in it wasn't really that important to her. She's tried it before, and it's always failed.

Lenovo (love calling her this, btw) is SO threatened by our queen, and I think it has something to do with the fact that Major is just unabashedly herself, whereas Lenovo is constantly putting up a front to try to make herself what she thinks Bucky wants. I want to try to explore this later on. So, of course Lenovo will take these elements she sees in Major and dump on them, because she thinks that it will make her look better. She is wrong. So wrong. And dumb.

I promise WFLT Steve is a Steve and not a Steeb! He's just... there, lol. No shady business on his part. Just being old fashioned and warning his bestie to be careful with his heart because he doesn't want to see him fall fast and hard and not have the girl feel the same way (he doesn't need to worry, Major is just as in as Bucky is!)

Good morning this is a lovely thing to find in my ask box first thing when I wake up~ so I initially headcanoned that Javelia got a dog named mocha, and I wrote a fic on that. Now I’m considering to change it completely to the dinosaur named waffles IN MY HEAD.

Let’s see:

When Chiley come to take Waffles back to their dimension, Amelia is SOOOOOOO SAD. She doesn’t wanna let baby waffles go but Riley is like 😡 so she ultimately lets him go.

But waffles doesn’t wanna leave them and soooooooo *cue confetti* he jumps through the portal once again to disappear into nothingness. Amelia and Riley panic and Chase and Javi give them the “I told you so” look. Then they split up into groups to look for the baby Dino in whatever channels the wormhole leads to. It’s so chaotic and ultimately they don’t find Waffles ANYWHERE.

Finally, they’re tired, they’re sick of searching everywhere, so you have Javi inviting chase and Riley back home for some hot cocoa and marshmallows or whatever and the second they switch on the lights of the kitchen they find baby waffles eating a bunch of marshmallows from the tin. (How had he managed to open the tin you may ask? Let’s just say there was a very big hole in the top of it)

Amelia almost screamed, Riley almost had a panic attack, Chase and Javi were So HAPPY.

They decide to let baby waffles stay with Javelia. Chase promises he will handle Kendall’s ✨wrath✨ and WELP

So now Javelia are the proud parents of a little Stegouros. Waffles’s mom has been taught a way to Javelia’s place and she’s not pretty huge herself so yeah she visits from time to time. Waffles also knows his way around from one dimension to another— you’d think it’s hard to travel inter dimensionally, but seriously, how hard can it be if you’ve got me. FUcKiNg. Inter dimensional SUBWAYS.

Either way. They also visit the DC dimension when they need to visit the dinosaur vet. Everyone around them just casually knows they have a dinosaur, but somehow they haven’t been reported to the govt. authorities yet. It’s rangerverse, everything is weird.

1/ SPOCK!1!1!1!!! (Star Trek: TOS and the subsequent films only; the constant retconning of the new versions is... not for me, but kink tomato and everything). First saw the original show dubbed on TV as a pre-teen; Spock was me, Spock was aspirational, Spock was who my best self could be. Small me trained in front of a mirror to be able to raise one, and only one, eyebrow. It worked (but i only trained one eyebrow). This was before i knew of fandom and of course slash, and the internet was barely starting; i wouldn't even have heard about it. It may very well still have been the Cold War, or at least the death throes of the USSR. (Kirk/Spock forever!)

2/ Saint Seiya!! Not Seiya himself (lol nope), but otherwise... Max Whump (Hyoga and Scorpio? i MEAN! A quick look-see on Youtube showed me only dubbed versions, too-short versions, or WHAT THE FUCK is this video-game reboot or something??? ANYWAY) Central! Our Heroes keep being Mega-Whumped, but the Power Of Friendship etc etc. And when i say mega-whumped... From Shiryu who keeps blinding himself, to Shun and his many, many issues with self-worth, to that fight i mentioned with Hyoga still crawling forward even as Milo (Scorpio) keeps wounding him... And Ikki and his Tragic Backstory TM and sacrifice for his baby brother. DON'T start me on the gold saints and the ladies, k? (Yeah, i know, misogyny etc)

3/ Methos from Highlander Ooooh boy. He's sarcastic, self-serving, detached - or is he? Is he? (Yes, Methos/Duncan forever. What can i say? i'm basic) First fave in the morally grey area for this list... but not the last ;-)

4/ Daredevil/Matt Murdock *points at all the fic on my AO3* Yeah, so. Yeah. Nuff said. Picking this gif because crucifix + blood. Taking off a bloody shirt, the crisp white kind he'd wear in a court room as a lawyer, in a church: quintessential Matt Murdock. i just *clenches fist* Have Feelings

Your point?), but also-über-nerd Colonel Sheppard and dead-pan Ronon Dex were faves as well <3 (AND RADEK!!!!) (Yes, Ronon Dex is Baby Jason Momoa before he grew huge muscles, and he is quite charming!)

7/ Sherlock Holmes (ACD or Granada versions mostly) He, too, in unhinged :D i probably don't need to introduce him, right? In the larger fandom, i also have a soft spot for JOAN Watson, in Elementary.

8/ Loki (and Cap and Iron Man, yes it's cheating) (so you're getting a two-fer in the gif) We shan't mention the various character assassinations that occurred in the MCU, k? There's an arc that shows change and growth, and then there's inexplicably ignoring huge bits of previous motivations, backstory, or characterization. But i digress

9/ Severus Snape So it's a bit hard here, because Rickman!Snape has never been my Snape, and i've only watched... idk, maybe the first... three? films? So i can't really provide a pic that fits. Anyway, loved the character from the start (he's funny, what can i say?), and when his childhood was revealed i was extra-sold. The social commentary behind his very poor origins, how he didn't fit and was bullied and grew bitter, and everything else... i discovered fandom at the time i started reading the books, around the time Goblet of Fire was published, so i first gravitated towards two fandoms: Star Trek and Harry Potter. Hence those two characters bookending this post ;-)

Will sent a whole string of ridiculous emojis back, including several heart eyes and kissy faces. Nico snorted and set his phone down. Will was so extra, but where Nico would normally just find that annoying, when it came to Will, he found it endearing instead. He knew his face probably looked ridiculous, he could feel how warm his cheeks were, but it was a nice change of pace for him. Cerberus licked his cheek a few times before he determined Nico was fine and laid down, letting out a loud yawn. Nico thought he had the right idea, and a nap sounded nice right about now. Maybe he’d sleep through the rest of Will’s shift and then he could talk to Will when he woke up again. Maybe he could convince Will to send him some cute pictures of Carter too to help get him through the rest of the day.

I’ve got comparatively few Hearts as compared to Minds, but! In canon I have Tune (my album guy though he barely counts as that anymore) as well as Tenor, who’s a Heart from the Alive and Alight AU which is a collab between @squeak-4657, Q-ott, and @starryhologram ! Out of canon I have a few fusion-style 2/3 with other people that include Hearts as well as a Mind-Heart guy I love, but I’ll rant about Tune rn.

I haven’t done much with Tune this loop, he’d mostly locked himself away in japathy for most of this which caused a bit of a disconnect with where each Third is in the album roughly? Tune’s stuck in Good Day/Just Apathy/THA mode (apathetic and spiteful towards Static/Mind) and only recently started to move forward in his arc while Amp (the Soul of this AU) is roughly around The Bidding-Two Wuv in his arc and Static (The Mind) is already at Light, waiting for Tune to come around for a WGW moment.

Anyway. Back to Tune- Currently in canon he is visiting Ouroboros AU Psyche ( @rosyfox2002 ‘s AU) to help Rain, the Heart there, with some problems he’s currently having as well as staying for a bit to have a picnic as Ouro Psyche has an outdoors and his native Psyche doesn’t.

To talk about character design traits- Tune still has some sight left but wears a blindfold for light sensitivity reasons. The blindfold is sheer, so it acts like sunglasses, but he prefers the blindfold because no bright light can seep in at the sides and also he thinks it looks badass. Because he’s roughly around THA in his arc, he’s wearing majority dark colors/black. Specifically black pants and a deep, deep purple hoodie. He also possesses black crow/raven wings which early-loop Static would insult, saying he’s an omen of despair and destruction and that Tune is inhuman. It’s unclear at this point if Tune’s wings will allow him to fly, but his home Psyche is so cramped he barely has room to fully stretch his wings much less fly.

His personality is pretty meek as well, I find it difficult to write angry/violent/asshole characters (hence my having him lock himself in his room in a depressive slump for months in lieu of being pitted) so he’s pretty. Hard to get to care at this point? It’s a wonder Rosy managed to piss him off enough to get Tune to visit the Ouros. Hoping this will pull him out of his japathy!

Cats 2019 😌

Oh, thank you, I’m gonna gush about this movie without even a DROP of that “i knoooow it’s bad” stuff, y’all know that I know. Okay maybe a few drops sneak in, in a back handed way, but MOSTLY this is me gushing and fawning

For context, since i’m putting this in the tag, the prompt was this was somebody gives me a topic and I respond with what i like about it. Like, the opposite of that “send me a thing and i’ll tell you what i hate about it” one

sometimes, like half the time, the CGI actually slaps. like, the close ups are amazing. proper look at some of these cats and it’s like, wow

mr. mistoffelees is precious. he’s my favourite and he’s adorable and his song makes me cry! specifically the bit where old deut is back and it cuts to his happy “oh my gosh i did it” face. triumphant! heck, i just like that whole song, as like the character thing that it is. and yeah anyways, misto is a cutie pie, he’s so shy and awkward and nervous, i wuv him uwuwu

misto is my fave but munkustrap is actually the best character in this movie. i cannot gush enough about robbie fairchild’s acting, singing and dancing in this. he is the backbone of this movie and i adore him! there’s a reason i’ve reblogged a bagillion gifsets of him being so expressionate, he’s so good! you can tell robbie loves being a part of this. and like, very often munku will absolutely be the best aspect of a scene

plus he’s beautiful too. munku, misto, victoria. beautiful kitties

now that i’ve adjusted to the art style, i find these kitties adorable. i love the ears and tails, they make me happy. i like how misto’s tail curls and the movement of everybody’s ears

i really like the music, shoulda mentioned that first. like, when its good, its really good. memory is of course a powerhouse. skimbleshanks is the movie’s highlight, so fucking good. i like mr. misto’s song, fight me. jellicle cats is a fucking bop. rumpleteazer & mungojerrie, I Just Like It. robbie’s performance in... well the whole movie... but also in old deuteronomy is beautiful and soothing. i’ve actually gotten every song in this stuck in my head.... SKIIIIIMBLEEEESHAAAANKS THE RAAAAILWAAAY CAT

legit, making that number include tap dancing was an actual stroke of genius and i cannot praise steven mcrae enough. whomst is also australian, im so proud. i also like skimble’s pants

OH ALSO regarding the music, another thing i love about this movie is that it introduced me to the concept of this musical. i never had any exposure to cats the musical before this movie happened. all i knew before was a couple of references i saw and i had heard memory. but i didn’t know that memory was from cats. and like, think of all the great songs i wouldn’t be aware of if this movie never happened. i’ve also, by extension, become enamoured with the 1998 version of cats too. because of this! i wouldn’t have had a reason to care before! i had no interest! so besides the fact that i actually do like this movie, there’s that

this is true of the stage musical thing, but a lot of cute and fun character moments are gleaned from like background stuff and facial expressions, that sorta thing and i find it really fun to notice stuff (or see somebody else point stuff out). like it’s all very simple but still with some depth, ya know?

the dancing in this is so good. so so good. especially munku because his actor is a magnificent dancer. it’s also funny and cute how misto clearly isn’t as good a dancer as everybody else, so they have him doing clumsy doofy stuff in the background. but im not insulting laurie davidson’s dancing, he’s actually good considering he had to learn for this movie. i just have to praise the dancing in this movie because i’ve seen people say that “the dancing isn’t impressive in this movie because it’s CGI” and i WILL EAT YOU WHOLE. no n no no people HAVE to know that the actors are actually doing that. robbie and francesca are professional ballet dancers, most of the people in this are. the movements are real, they just painstakingly overlayed CGI cat stuff over it. the stuff that isn’t real is like, stuff humans can’t do, like the big fuck off leaps, they used wires for that

oh i already mentioned the music but i just wanna say i think beautiful ghosts is a lovely song/motif/character thing. i haven’t mentioned victoria much, i think she’s rather sweet in a like endearingly dumb way. and her singing and dancing is, of course, lovely

the sets are practical, they built that! bruh

i have to give my respect to the poor overworked effects artists who worked on this movie. they were pushed so hard and for so long and i think they did a great job and they don’t deserve even a drop of the scorn they have received

i love misto’s jacket, it’s so good. and the pencil as a wand is clever!

the last scene is refered to as a living hell by a lot of people but i love it because just. watch munku’s face the whole time. so good. just watch munkustrap, he makes everything better

ooh on that note, i like how they made it so munk lives in a flat thats literally right by the junkyard. i find that a nice touch and fitting

i like the nuzzles <3 (furthermore i love how misto is so much taller than victoria so he has to bend down so far for a couple of those nuzzles)

i dunno, you can tell most of the people doing this were like really into it, like really loved doing this movie. like these performances are good, y’all! and like, these cats come across as so happy to hanging out and dancing and being together (for the most part, there is bickering and... cattiness too) that it’s like infectious. it makes me smile!

and there’s like a bagillion little things here and there that i like, like my list could go on even more. for example, shout out to that one cat that kept smiling when skimble was spinning upwards into the air (due to being kidnapped) probably under the assumption that skimble can just fucking do that djksakjdsa

so yeah i can’t exactly call this a Good Movie but i can genuinely call it a movie i enjoy, that i adore even, because i’ve never liked anything ironically in my life! also im autistic and this has become my special interest, so choo choo, this trains a chugging. i’m having a lot of fun, and i think that’s good enough

and i feel like it’s already on it’s way to becoming the world’s most expensive cult classic. like, friends getting together and watching it and having a good time, for one reason or another. and i like that. i hope in like 5 to 10 years time, people are gonna be endeared and nostalgic for cats 2019, cuz that’d be neat

-good lord the mixing is. and boy that's steve drumming isn't it. wow

-i mean we've got the stereo panning just like ever but this is incredibly rough. they are true babies aren't they

-oh those flutes are amazing what the hell. can people stop yelling in my individual ears

-and there's the rough megaphone. it's so incredibly clear that these aren't studio recordings but like. still tally hall!

-i think i'm finding many of these a little too funny but gotdam you're pitchbending your own voice do you really expect that to not sound so goofy at such a high pitch

-oh we're not slowing down at all, this is the same tempo as before for sure

-the flipping around audio channels is very not good at all when it comes to disguising the cuts between takes

-a sculptor you say? (is that one in the later versions? i don't remember it at all)

-nothing but rob's voices in the background and maybe 1 or two from red. no ross bits whatsoever. that's wild

-quick move into the greener intro and even quicker movement into greener itself

-well those are extra harmonies. interesting that they removed them for later versions because they're not bad, maybe a little out of place though

-honestly the biggest difference in steve vs ross drumming seems to be more a difference in the quality of the drums themselves. or the recording software but that applies to everything in this album

-it's painfully obvious that everything was recorded in really different circumstances & not mixed professionally and yep. complete demos alright. not inaccurately named in the slightest

-reminds me of the beta versions of g&e songs we heard live before they appeared on the album, makes me wonder if we could've gotten an admittedly complete demos for g&e somehow

-anyway these little different synths-

-hello there rob. alternate bridge. i have remembered this is a thing. something about tissues? a shoulder to cry on? cool

-yeah the little different synths do capture my attention from time to time

-and a basic piano for the outro? huh. sure gives it a different tone alright

-hm? who's that right at the end there- ooh! wtth time! and this still has steve in it doesn't it?

-generally more enthusiasm when it comes to that T, wonder what lost him attention in later years

-well this chorus is actually rather snazzy. the vocals seem better mixed than anything else i've heard in this album

-"who's to blame?" that's like the 4th time now i've heard someone's random voice that i can't recognize. ...it couldn't be steve, could it? i am now aware i have absolutely no clue what his voice sounds like but that seems like it could fit. hm

-zubin sounds really unenthusiastic here. just faintly unenthusiastic all over the place. still sounds more like "badiggle" than anything else

-oh shit they're falling down a well

-red's bit is hella unchanged other than the direct invasion of my individual ears & extra megaphone useage (i really wish the megaphone became more of a tally icon than it did but that's neither here nor there)

-it's rather more barebones though. less andrew keys in general. the calliope-reminiscent synth he uses is different i suppose.

-they did more stuff with funny crowd voices i think i've noticed. playing around with falsetto, as a college band dude might do

-ok yeah steve is a worse drummer. don't ask me what made me change my mind but i did

-wow a crowd that can consistently clap on the 1-2-3-4? how utterly unrealistic

-no wonky wild & weird intro to taken for a ride because i don't think it's on this album. understandable, i can't imagine what sort of wild hell the vocoder would be if it was attempted this early in its lifespan

-1st 2 piano chords of just apathy has me thinking of i know your name (deporitaz ver.) which is certainly as good a start to a song as any

-extended piano intro has me thinking of the ending of mold en mono but nope here's rob's voice to completely knock that impression out of the water

-ohoho? rob cantor swearing momence? i hadn't realized there'd be this many lyric changes

-interestingly enough this track doesn't seem horrendously mixed so far- nevermind that guitar/piano together is way too loud

-the guitar itself does have a pretty cool unique sound. obviously they hadn't had any access to string instruments at this point so given that those're the main thing separating this song from your average sade rock ballad there aren't a whole lot of notable differences here other than said guitar

-very different tone to this lil bridge. faintly reminiscent of weezer but it's not like i know anything about weezer

-sounds like the same synth from wtth being used in the bg there. what, did they have just that limited a selection so as to need repetition that frequently, or did they really like how it sounds? hard to tell with 200 (uhhhh) 4 college band dudes

-and right into two wuv. yes i had heard there's no haiku in this one but i forget what else will be missing. not sure if anything else will other than hidden in the sand. they would have ruler of everything, right? and a track that appears here but not any other albums? something like that i think

-more of that piano in the bg and more of mildly unenthusiastic zubin singing. different melody for said singing but it's not much of a secret that these guys were more untrained vocalists at this time

-the extra piano part sure moves this piece way further away from "rock love song" & way closer to "andrew horowitz song", especially that lil flourish where a bee buzzing might otherwise be

-not even any drumming. the simplicity could easily explain why it wasn't played live very often at all

-so the next thing i expect is some very funky & very weird spring and a storm which should highlight steve's (worse) drumming more than anything else i'm sure

-nevermind banana man's just getting slapped directly in here out of order compared to the later mmmm releases. this version i have indeed heard before because it's the version used in the music video

-therefore i have very little to say about it i haven't said on any of the other banana men. or other tracks on this album. the intrusions of vocal harmonies seem jarring because they're not mixed professionally, an effect that's only enhanced by the stereo panning & intense reverb

-this song really didn't change all that much over its lifespan, did it? vocal flairs were redone, but relatively few harmonies were added/removed, i don't think things like the bridge(s) were modified severely. not as noticeably as any of the other songs, at the very least

-i'm pretty sure i can hear andrew's voice in there but beyond that this is severely unsettling

-back to the chorus wahoo. relievingly  familiar territory

-the piano synth used is mostly identical to the 05 mmmm- oh holy shit there's different lyrics & they're being beamed directly into my skull

-even more nonsensical & it's because you can hear them hella easily too. that backwards segment did not need to go on as long as it did. also

-so no zubin vocals? >{

-slapping 5 billion vocal effects on doesn't make up for a lack of the best singer in this damn band

-especially because he sounds reminiscent of goddam fred. being fred before fred was even a thing. oh how accursed

-quiet down your guitars when you're singing shouting through a megaphone if you please

-and there's the earstrain-ass reverb + vocoding on the flibbity jibber jabber reprise. i feared as much would happen. doesn't sound horrible i just need to turn down the volume on my mp3 player

-honestly thing whole thing isn't bad at all in the sense that it's mostly just strongly different from the later versions & lacks zubin

-lease stop yelling though my dude schwiggling your voice like that isn't always a good thing at high volumes

Donald needed a job, he couldn't ignore that anymore. The money he saved up over the years was almost gone and he didn't want to ask Scrooge for more, not unless he really had to. So he needed a job, but that meant leaving Louie alone and he had never done that before. Even when they went over to the mansion Donald made sure to be around him at all times. He wasn't sure how he'd react to being left with someone else for so long, and he was kind of scared to find out. But he needed a job so that meant he had no choice.

He spent the next few days looking around for opportunities and finally found one, which meant all he had to do now was find someone to watch Louie. It shouldn't be too hard, it wasn't like there was a shortage of people. So he started calling his friends, he would use his Uncle as the first option, but he was so busy with the twins and Donald didn't want to add onto that.

Minnie ended up being the only one who could do it on such short notice and he gave her about a thousand thank you's before she told him to stop and that she was happy to do it. This was one of the many times he was glad he had such great friends.

He started going through what Louie would need for the day and putting it into a bag before his eyes landed on his son. Louie smiled and waved at him and Donald smiled back as he sat down and pulled him into his lap. How to have this conversation? "How do you feel about going to see Aunt Minnie today?"

"Why?"

"I have to go somewhere for a few hours and someone needs to watch you."

Louie looked at him stubbornly, "I go."

Donald shook his head, "Sorry, Sweetheart, but you can't. But you like Minnie, right? She's nice and a lot of fun, I'm sure the time will fly by." Louie started tearing up so Donald quickly pulled him closer and began soothing him. "It's gonna be okay, Louie, it's not forever, just a few hours, and then we'll be back together again."

"Promise?"

He smiled at him, "Promise."

So Donald finished packing the bag, there was still the thing of if he got a job this would be happening more often, but one issue at a time. And maybe if today went well enough Louie would soon get used to being without him for a while. That was his hope anyway. He couldn't be overly dependant on him, all the parenting books said that was a big no-no, and who was he to not listen to them?

The drive to Minnie's was short but also not short enough, there was no way Louie was ready to say goodbye to him. He almost thought about canceling the interview, waiting a few months before doing this, but he would just have this problem then too, best to deal with it now. He just wished it wouldn't be this hard, he didn't want to leave Louie and this would be just as difficult for him as his son, but he knew it was for the best. They needed money to survive and an unfortunate part of that was being away from his kid for a few hours. They needed this, he just had to keep reminding himself of that.

Louie refused to let go of him after he got everything settled with Minnie and he wished he could say he was surprised. But he really did have to get going, any later and he'd be late for his interview. "I know this is gonna be hard, but I need you to be brave for me. Can you do that?" He felt him nod against his shoulder and smiled then placed a kiss on his head. "Be good for Aunt Minnie, I'll be back in just a few short hours. I love you." Louie looked at him and gave a small smile,

"I wuv yu too." He handed him to Minnie and then gave him one last look and a wave before heading out the door, knowing that if he didn't leave then then he never would.

Louie watched the thing his Dada disappeared into until the big mouse got his attention. He liked her, she was sweet and always gave him sweet things when his Dada wasn't looking, but she wasn't his Dada. He wanted his Dada. Why did he leave? Was Louie not good enough for him?

The big mouse smiled at him, "It's okay, Louie, your Dad'll be back soon and in the meantime we get to hang out." She said, bringing him into the room that smelled really nice.

"Wher he go?"

"He's going to a job interview." Louie looked at her confused, what was that? And why did it sound so, bad? "A job is something adults have to get money, so that they can take care of things and the people they care about. An interview is something they have to do to get a job." So he didn't leave cause Louie was bad, he just needed mony? Maybe there was a way Louie could get mony. If he had mony he wouldn't hafta hafe job- jobs sound hard and his Dada did so much for him, he want to do something for him too.

Then that settled it, "I need mony, to help Dada."

"Well, aren't you sweet?" Louie grinned at her. "Unfortunately you're a bit too young for money, but I'll tell you another way you can help him. You can help him just by being you, jobs can make people tired but being around the people they love can make them less tired. And remind them why they have them in the first place." All he had to do was be him? That sound easy, he can do that. Anything to help his Dada.

She gave him something to eat after that and he asked her more about jobs. He didn't really understand it, but the big mouse said it was cause he was too young. The only thing he really focused on was that his Dada would be away from him more often. He didn't want that, but the big duckie who took care of the place his cousins stay at say sometime you hafta do things you don't want to. He didn't know why but Hue and Dew trust her so so did he. He would miss his Dada but the big mouse say he got job for him so he would just hafta deal with it.

Dada's took care of people, that what they did, Louie had to let him do whatever it took to take care of him. Even if it sounded bad. His Dada know what he doing, his Dada always know what he doing. And apparently he was doing job now.

After he finished eating the big mouse took him back into the room with all the things he wasn't suppose to climb and pulled some of his toys out of the thing he Dada always carried. She handed him his box that he had to put stuff into and set him on the ground. She wasn't gonna leave him was she? He didn't want to be alone. He start tearing up and she quick sat next to him. "What's wrong, Louie?"

"No leave! Stay wit me!"

She dried his eyes, "Oh, Louie, of course I'm staying with you! It wouldn't be much of a hang out if I didn't, right?" He nodded and she give him a smile. "Don't worry, I'm not leaving you alone while you're here." He not be alone. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad, maybe it even be fun like his Dad say.

The two of them played with his toys for a while and he have fun, not as much as with his Dada or cousins but still fun. The playing tired him out but he wasn't ready to nap without his Dada, but the big mouse wasn't making him which make him like her even more. That was the day he decided she he's favorite big person after his Dada. And maybe after the big duckie that talk weird and took care of his cousins ...maybe not, he say weird things sometime that Louie don't understan. He didn't like not understaning something, but neither did Hue so maybe it was a cousin thing.

Suddenly a noise came from the big rectangle and he jumped. The big mouse smiled at him and picked him up so it hasta be a good thing, maybe it was his Dada! She open the big rectangle and his Dada appeared in front of it, it was him! He was back! Louie made grabby hands for him and wiggled in the big mouse's arms. "Dada!"

His Dada quick grabbed him and start putting kisses all over him which make him giggle. "Louie! Oh, I missed you so much!"

"Miss yu to! Bunch and bunch!" Donald smiled at that then looked at Minnie who was watching them with a smile of her own.

"Min, I really can't thank you enough for this. How was he? Did he do okay?" He seemed to be okay, and looked like he had tired himself out but he had a big grin on his face and that was all that really mattered to Donald.

"It was no trouble at all, Love, he was an absolute sweetheart. He had a little trouble at first but he was brave, just like you asked him to be." He looked at Louie who nodded and he placed another kiss on him. "Oh and the cutest thing happened! While I was explaining to him what you were doing he said he 'needed money, to help you out', isn't that just the sweetest?"

It really was. "Louie..."

Louie looked at him sheepishly, "You do so much for me, wannaed to do something for yu to."

"Just be you, Sweetheart, that's all I ever want." Two people had tell Louie that now, it had to be true. That sounded easy, a lot easy than job. He had the better life.

Donald and Minne talked for a few more minutes before Louie let out a yawn. The two of them chuckled, "I should get him home so he can nap. But really, thank you again." Minnie waved him off and he thought that was fair enough by now. He turned back to his son, "Tell Aunt Minne bye-bye." He cooed to him.

His son waved at her, "Bye-bye, Aunt Minnie!" The adults froze at that but Louie didn't seem to notice, content to snuggle into his Dad. That was the first time he had referred to one of them like that beside Donald. Minnie put her hands over her mouth and Donald grinned at her, she deserved it, Louie adored her. Even before he asked her to babysit.  

They hugged after that and Donald and Louie left, Louie falling asleep as soon as he got in his car seat. But not before his Dad could tell him how proud of him he was for today, and since Donald had gotten a second interview it looked like days like today were going to be happening more often. Well, everyone said the first day was the hardest- and they both got through it, they could get through anything with their family be their side.

to preface this one i have a lot of enemies who i’ve never met. one of these enemies is the person who wrote explicit stellar firma fic and titled it with a lyric from this song AFTER i added it to my trexel playlist. this was my song first!! i know that playlist is not public and will likely never be public because of the ridiculous self indulgence of it but you should have known, random person who wrote that. i DIDN’T steal the song from them. they stole it from ME. anyway. talk too much is a good good trexel song for the obvious reason that he never shuts up but also um. nd solidarity :) also also. terrible overcomplicated mutual pining where neither side can spit it out because of a) mental illness b) repression and c) embarrassment. plus the song just bops <3

completely forgot about hope less romantics for helen but omg omg i have so many thoughts about this...this song is the reason why my tag for martin is “hope less romantics” and i think about it a lot in terms of the parallels between helen and jon. for those of you who don’t listen to tma, helen and jon are both avatars of 2 different entities and are very frequently set up as parallels to one another with helen as someone who embraced her monstrous side and jon as someone who hung on to his human side, and jon’s relationships with other people are a big part of the show in general. and it’s implied that others’ faith in him is a reason why he was able to hang on to his humanity, because he cares about others so much. and a big portion of my ship with helen and the reason behind a lot of my canon divergence in terms of my ship with her is about that concept for her. what if she had a Person who valued her and loved her and listened to her and accepted that her monstrous side was a part of her, but also reminded her that she still had a human side there too. anyway how this ties back to the song is how it’s kind of about falling in love with a monster despite the chance that you might get hurt and it makes me THINK THOUGHTS. there’s also a line that goes “we spill all our tragic thoughts in their little black boxes” and hi that’s just the tapes. that’s just the tapes huh. there are a few sexual undertones in this song which i don’t like for me or for jon (ace solidarity) but i just ignore them.
