I don’t think I’ll ever understand this unprompted aggression shown towards male insert writers
Male insert fics or fem insert fics are fics- fan fiction. Majority of fanfiction you read on ao3 twitter tumblr are written by queer people. Just because majority of self insert fics are targeted towards a female audience does not mean that a male audience doesn’t exist and it doesn’t mean that self insert fics should solely be targeted for straight people. That is a very privileged take to make.
I think I can count on two hands the male insert writers that are actively posting right now compared to the countless of fem insert writers that exist and majority of my mutuals have received a nasty comment or two about us as male insert writers or about our male insert fics
And even though a lot of us delete the hateful asks or make a joke out of the hate it’s genuinely concerning the blatant homophobia that we face. Sure it’s just fics but homophobia very much exists in the real world and today I basically got called a predator for writing fanfiction.
That is not okay.
You can be annoyed if you feel that a tag is being spammed by male insert fics (even though I doubt that even is a thing since it’s like 10 of us writing)
You can have your own opinion about male insert blogs who don’t want fem aligned people to interact with their fics.
But something that is absolutely disgusting is going into peoples inboxes and cowardly doing so through anon to call them predators gross etc

Leah Williamson one shot where reader comes home from work to find Leah napping on the couch with your guys dog and she wakes up and it’s a cute fluff moment! <3
Watch You Sleep — Leah Williamson.
Paring: Leah Williamson x Fem!Reader
Summary: Coming home after such a long and tiring day didn’t seem all that bad anymore when you saw your girlfriend napping with your guys’ dog.
Word Count: 560+
Disclaimer/s — GAY. WLW. YEAH. HAILLLL YEAHHHHH!
A/N: This actually made me clutch my hoodie.
All you really wanted was to go home. That’s it.
Your day had been terrible. So, so bad. Horrific. Any synonym that fits, that’s basically how your day went. From disrespectful customers to managers who don’t even try to understand, to even something as simple as almost tripping over your own shoelaces—it was just horrible.
You honestly could’ve burst into tears at any given moment if you weren’t already walking up to your front door and opening it.
But, you didn’t. You couldn’t, actually. Why?
Because the sight of your girlfriend here, napping on the couch with your dog sleeping on her chest made you automatically forget about everything that had happened to you today. All of it—gone.
You were sure you could’ve crumbled instantly, seeing how comfortable they seemed. But it didn’t last long; the quiet squeak of your shoes was enough to wake Lady up. Her gaze finding you, causing her to wriggle out of Leah’s arms.
That, unfortunately, woke her up. You felt bad.
You cursed yourself silently in your head.
“Hi, I’m sorry,” you quickly blurted out, wringing your hands together as you watched her rub her eyes and sit up. “I didn’t mean to wake you up.”
She waves you off. “It’s okay. I had an alarm set anyway. You just beat it. How was work?”
That caused a frown to form, and you shrugged, setting your bag down on the table. “I’d prefer not to talk about it. It was just… sucky. I hated it.”
At that, she squints and holds out both her arms. You slip off your shoes, and your fingers slide down her arms before you melt into her completely, bringing your knees up to your chest.
“I’m really sorry your day was bad,” she mumbled softly, placing a gentle kiss to your head and wrapping her arms around you tightly.
“It’s okay. I’ll live. How was your day? Talk to me.”
“Good, good. Lady was energetic, as usual. That harness you got worked well. We went on a walk around three and came back around four-thirty. I guess she was tired, so we took a small nap.”
“Small?” You echoed, “It’s eight o’clock, babe.”
The woman’s eyes widened, “Are you—really?”
Letting out an amused laugh, you whipped out your phone and showcased your lock screen, the time revealing that it’s eight fifty-seven. Almost nine. Her eyes widened even further.
“I had plans for dinner and everything. I’m sorry.”
“What for? You were tired, Lady’s a handful—god, she’s so cute, aren’t you, hun?” Your tone turns soft when you look down at the floor, her snout coming to rest on your feet. “I love her so much.”
Leah huffs, resting her chin on top of your head. “Yeah, well. I love you, too,” she murmurs.
Pulling back, you look up at her with a smile and place a quick peck on her lips. “Hey, I love you.”
Her frown is quickly replaced by a smile, making you lean in for another kiss, which she wastes no time in reciprocating. “Are you hungry?”
“Yes, I am,” you reply, reaching down to pet Lady.
Ruffling your hair while getting up, she says, “Give me fifteen minutes.” Your dog trails after her, her tail wagging happily. You loved them both badly.
You’ve completely forgotten about your bad day.

a fic about harry and faye where faye needs to be picked up because it's snowed so bad and also she's feeling very very needy. has smut so be careful. or not. do whatever you like. DO leave feedback though or else i will fucking haunt you
***
Faye calls Harry at around 6pm.
He’s asleep, his iPad abandoned by his side with the pen still between his fingertips. He doesn’t know what time he dozed off, but he’s got to thank Faye for the portable heater she bought him for Christmas. It’s magnificent.
Getting himself out of bed to reach for his phone is difficult. When he finally manages, the only thing that makes him pick up is Faye’s photo.
He brings it to his ear. “Hi, baby.”
Immediately, he can hear the frown in her voice. “Oh no. I woke you up.”
“It’s all right,” he says, rubbing his eyes. “I wasn’t supposed to sleep anyways. I’ll barely get a few hours at night if I nap now.” He brings his phone back to his bed and sits down. “What’s up?”
“Um, well I just finished rehearsals.”
“Yeah? That’s good. Got out early?”
“Yes, it’s snowing pretty bad now.”
“Mm, is it?” He forces himself to get back up and take a peek out his curtains. She’s right; the snow lays on the roads, flurries all around still. “You wanna stay on the phone with me until you get home?”
“That’s kind of the thing. I’ve been at this bus stop for 15 minutes and my app keeps saying the bus is about to come, but the roads aren’t properly cleared so I don’t think it’s coming.”
Harry frowns. “You’re outside?”
“Yeah. I walked to the stop, but it’s like a ghost town here. Nobody’s out driving. The buses may have all been canceled.”
“Oh shit. Are you wearing warm clothes? Gloves and all?”
“Yup.”
“Good. Which stop are you at today? I’ll come get you.”
There’s instant relief in her voice. “Thank you.” She tells him which stop and then sighs softly. “It’s not that cold which is good. I suppose I should sit down on the bench but there’s ice on it and I already slipped while walking here. My butt still hurts.”
Harry groans as he tugs his jacket on and grabs an extra beanie. He shoves his feet into his shoes and grabs his keys. “Don’t tell me that,” he says. “Are you all right?”
“Yes,” Faye laughs. “I’m okay.”
“Think you can hold on for 15 minutes?”
“Yes, but Harry you have to drive safely, okay? The inner roads aren’t cleared at all.”
Harry sticks a piece of gum in his mouth. “Yeah, love, I’ll be fine.”
“Okay.”
“Wanna stay on the phone with me?”
“Um, I would, but I can barely feel my fingers.”
Harry has to groan again. He’s outside now and thankfully his car isn’t looking too bad. He’ll still need to defrost it a bit. “Faye, you just told me you had gloves!”
“Whoops.”
“Okay, I’m going to hang up, but please try to get warm. Go into one of those shops nearby.”
“The only shop open near me is the chicken shop.”
“Go in there.”
“I don’t like the smell of chicken.”
“I must say that you are insanely difficult today.”
Faye giggles. “I’m not.” She must hear him turn his ignition on. “Okay, bye now. Drive safe.”
“I will.”
She hangs up. Harry has to step out of the car with his snow brush, pushing his way over to clean his windshields. He’s blasting the heat on the inside, and within ten minutes, he’s ready to go. When he gets back in his car, he’s muttering swears, trembling with the cold. “Not that cold, my ass.”
And Faye’s right. The inner roads are horrendous. He drives so below the speed limit, he may as well walk to get her. 15 minutes turn into 20 and by the time he’s pulling up to her bus stop, he’s very worried Faye may be a frozen block of ice.
Faye wobbles her way over to the car, yanking the door open and all but throwing herself inside. She’s shivering so bad, Harry puts the car in park and reaches over the console to hug her tightly.
“For fuck’s sake, Faye,” he mutters, suppressing a shiver at her cold face pressed into his neck. “I told you to go into the shop!”
“If y-you made me wait any longer, I would have!”
“I drove as fast as I could.”
Harry turns the heat up higher and rubs her arms firmly, trying to get her tight muscles to relax. She’s wearing a winter jacket, yes, but her head is uncovered and she doesn’t even have a scarf. He pulls back to look at her, hoping there’s disappointment on his face. But Faye’s eyes just light up and then she’s lifting her head to get a kiss.
He can’t say no.
He cups her face and softly kisses her. Her lips are cold, but he can still taste the cherry chapstick as if she kept reapplying it every few minutes. She kisses him several more times, but when she places her frozen hands on his neck, he pulls away sharply.
“Faye!” He holds his neck as if wounded. “That’s so cold!”
Faye’s knees bounce. “Sorry!"
She doesn’t look sorry.
He grabs the beanie he’s brought her and throws it onto her head. Her bangs get caught on her forehead, momentarily blinding her, and she laughs, fixing the hat. Her black hair frames her cheeks. She reaches in for another kiss, but Harry stops her with a shake of his head.
“Get warm first. Or else you’ll get hypothermia and then I’ll have nobody to kiss.”
Faye says, “Wow you sound a lot like me.” She holds her trembling hands by the vents, shivering so bad, she’s compelled to make audible noises to show how cold she is, her jaw quivering. Harry starts driving the car again, and once he gets off the main street, he reaches for her hand and holds it in his lap.
“How were rehearsals?”
“Okay,” she says, shoulders shaking. “Maybe people couldn’t come in today because of the snow. I had to do, like, three roles.”
“Opening night is next month, right?”
“Yup. I got you your tickets.”
Harry kisses the back of her hand, squeezing her pale fingertips hard. She's painted her nails dark blue, he notices. “Thank you. Are you hungry?”
“Mhm.”
“Let’s get something to eat then. I don’t have anything at home. Didn’t cook today.”
“Oh. Are we going to yours?”
“Yes.”
“Can I stay over?”
Harry smiles. “Yes.”
“Is Timmy home?”
“Nope.”
“Can we play that video game again?”
Harry sends her a look. “I thought you’d want to watch a movie or something.”
“Well, if you want to. But I had a lot of fun playing that game.”
“Yes, you were so good at it.”
She was not. Harry spent the entire night trying to save her, getting himself killed, and then yelling and begging her to stay alive until he could be revived. Faye had a lot of fun it seems, though Harry wouldn’t say it was a very productive night.
But, if she wants to do it, then they will.
“I feel like I’ll be better tonight,” Faye says, leaning forward to put her face against the air vent. Her eyes flutter shut. “We’ll get to the next level.”
“You mean level two.”
She laughs.
Harry’s pulling up to the take out shop they’ve agreed on when his phone goes off. He answers it on the car’s speakerphone.
“Yeah, mate?”
“Hey,” Timothée’s voice rings out. “Where are you right now?”
“I’m with Faye picking up food.”
“Oh cool. Hey, can you pick me up from the shop, man? My car’s fucking buried.”
Harry sighs. “Yeah, that’s fine. When are you off work?”
“Twenty minutes.”
“Yeah, I’ll get you.”
“Cool, and hey–”
“Yeah?”
“Can you grab me some food? I’ll pay you back.”
Harry says, “I’ll think about it.”
There’s silence on the other line until Timmy says, “Faye?”
She leans in. “Yeah?”
“Can you make sure he gets me food? I’ll Venmo you right now.”
“Will do.”
“Thanks. Bye!” And then he hangs up.
Harry rubs his eye and then unbuckles his seat belt. Faye goes to do the same, but he stops her, shaking his head. “No, you need to stay warm.”
“I’m fine!”
“Nope.” He locks the car after opening his door and gives her a meaningful look. She watches him disappear into the shop.
When he comes back, he thinks she’s looking a lot better. The red in her cheeks has returned and she’s reapplying her chapstick without shaking fingers. He leans over and kisses her, pleased that her lips aren’t frozen anymore. Unexpectedly, she holds onto his collar and kisses him harder, and she doesn’t let him go until he’s chuckling against her lips and trying to pry away.
“What’s gotten into you?” he murmurs, peppering kisses down to her jaw. She shivers, but not from the cold this time.
“Just missed you.”
“Mm.” He kisses her cheek. “I missed you too.”
It’s a lot harder to drive after that, especially because Harry’s hand rests on Faye’s thigh, and she keeps playing with his fingers, occasionally pulling his hand up to kiss his palm.
When they get to the shop, Timmy rushes into the car and slaps a hand on Harry’s shoulder. “Thank you, man. This is great. Thanks. Hey, Faye.”
“Hi.”
“You’re coming over?”
“Yup.”
“Cool. Did you get me any food?”
“Yes we did.” She hands him the aux cord when he asks for it. They listen to his odd taste in music for the ride home.
Harry takes Faye up to his room when they get home. Timmy’s nearly falling asleep so he eats his food quietly and then heads to his own room with a reminder through the walls that he’d appreciate it if Harry and Faye kept it down.
Faye says, “I don’t know why he always says that,” as she’s climbing into Harry’s lap on his bed in his shirt only. He looks up at her, eyes shining, his hands resting just below her butt. She wraps her arms around his neck. “We’ve never been that loud.”
“I mean I certainly haven’t,” Harry teases, pulling her down onto his thighs.
“Me neither!”
“Sure.”
Faye can’t come up with a response, so she kisses him, and then turns around in his lap, back pressed to his warm, strong chest. He places his hand on her thigh, holding her to him. As he’s setting up the game, she reaches over and grabs his iPad, turning it on to see his latest sketch.
It’s a very daunting looking dragon with detailed wings and scales. She zooms in to see all of it, thoroughly impressed. “This is so cool, Harry!”
“Yeah? Thanks, baby. Had a client say she wanted a big dragon piece so I’ve been brainstorming.”
“Where does she want it?”
“Around her bicep.”
“It must hurt like crazy.”
Harry hooks his chin over her shoulder and hugs her tight to him. “Yeah, but as long as they’re happy with it, right?”
She turns her head to look at him with her devastatingly pretty eyes. “Have you done any cool ones this week?”
He makes a show of thinking really hard. “Did a decent snake two days ago.”
“Ooh. Will you post the pictures?”
“Yeah. Haven’t had the time to.”
Faye cradles his face and kisses his cheek. “I’ll be the first person to like it.”
“You always are,” he murmurs, tilting his head back so she can continue her kisses down his neck.
His eyes flutter shut as Faye’s hands run over his arms, gently pressing herself back against him. He feels her breath hitch.
“Faye,” he softly admonishes. “You said you wanted to play the game.”
“It’s still loading,” she whispers back, shaking him off to be able to turn in his arms again. The force she kisses him with throws him off. He’s pushed back, hands flying out to steady himself against his mattress. She wraps her legs around him and kisses him breathless, her fingers trailing up the sides of his head and then burying themselves into his curls. She presses herself against him again, and then she gently licks at him. Harry welcomes her tongue when he parts his lips.
She kisses him like she hasn’t been kissed properly in years – which is simply untrue because he kisses her until she forgets her name on a routined basis. Faye presses herself even closer, and when the first whine leaves her throat, Harry’s arms are around her, dragging her hips against his. She sighs as if that small contact between them has caused her such release.
The TV makes a noise to tell them the game has finished loading. Faye’s mouth shows no signs of letting him up. Harry pulls up for a second to breathe, and then kisses her again, leaning into her with his hands spread out against her back. They stay there until he’s sliding his fingers under his shirt that she wears, slowly pushing her until she’s laying on her back and Harry’s hovering over her.
“The game,” he whispers.
“Hm?” she manages, rolling her hips against his again, her eyes both innocent and flirty.
He breathes out a swear and then works on pulling the shirt off of her. Faye shivers immediately, but he kisses down her neck and collarbones to warm her up, letting her adjust when she catches onto what he wants to do. She slides back and lets him move further down her body.
“Harry–”
“Yes, baby?”
She changes her mind when Harry’s fingers hook into her underwear. “Oh. Oh, nothing.”
“Tell me,” he says, dragging them down.
“Well, it’s only that I thought I’d do this for you. Because you, um, picked me up and I wanted to thank you.”
Harry chuckles. “You can do that after this, but right now I have a feeling you’re going to explode if I don’t touch you. Care to tell me what’s got you so worked up? I fucked you so well just two days ago.”
Faye throws a hand over her eyes and Harry doesn’t know if it’s because she’s forced to answer his question while unclothed or if it’s his words that embarrass her. Possibly both.
“It’s because you came to get me and your voice was so deep and raspy and tired and your hand on my thigh and–”
Harry situates himself between her legs and lets her knees come up besides his head. He kisses her soft inner thighs and wraps his arms around them. Faye lifts her head to glance down at him and then moans softly when he licks into her. Slowly. Teasingly.
Her black hair is fanned out around her, her breath coming hard and fast. Her lips are parted, pink and swollen from their kisses. She looks ruined already. Harry will never get used to the sight. He never wants to.
“Fuck,” she whimpers, throwing her head down. Her eyes flutter shut as Harry leans in and takes over completely, his skilled mouth ruthless against her. His fingers dig into her hips, holding her down though she desperately raises herself to meet his mouth.
“Oh, I love you,” she whispers, threading her fingers into his hair. “So much.”
He sucks and licks and laps diligently until her back is gently arching off his mattress and she has to bite down on her knuckles to keep her noises in. Seeing her like this turns Harry on, his body on alert. He feels like every cell of his body has been electrified, but despite his arousal, all he wants is for Faye to fall apart against him.
It doesn’t take her long. Her thighs tremble. She cries out and yanks his hair. The pain is distant to him. Harry lets her use his tongue to ride out her high, and when she’s done, she’s whimpering from sensitivity. Harry only pulls away when she’s whining, “Ah, okay, okay, that’s it, please. No more.”
He grins at her, gently wiping the corners of his mouth. “Always so good for me.”
Faye covers her face. Harry helps her back into her clothes and then lays beside her until she’s ready to turn to him and kiss him. He kisses her hair. “My darling girl,” he whispers. “My baby. So perfect."
She’s straddling him before five minutes are up, her hands resting on his chest, hair falling like curtains around her flushed face. The strands hit Harry’s cheek. His hands are on her thighs again, and he’s smiling lazily at her.
“I love you too,” he murmurs, running his hand up to her waist.
Faye swallows and grinds down on his length through his sweatpants. “My turn?”
“We can take a break if you w–”
“No,” she says immediately, fingers already pulling Harry’s shirt up. Her eyes hungrily take in every tattoo she slowly reveals. Harry lifts his head to pull the shirt off.
Faye seems to have something in mind already. So Harry just lets her undress him, enjoying the kisses she trails after her hands. She has plenty of energy, preferring to stay on top of him instead of switching back over.
She works herself over him until she’s throwing her head back and nearly sobbing with relief. Harry watches the pleasure roll over her, her hands in tight fists against his chest.
“I love you,” she says again, taking deep breaths when it’s over. Her face is a gentle pink, her chest flushed. “I love you so bad, Harry.”
Once he’s pulled out of her, he’s grabbing her waist and pulling her down to him, wrapping his arms around her tight. “I love you,” he says, kissing all over her face, wiping the corners of her eyes. “My pretty girl, I love you, I love you, I love you.”
Spent, Faye lets him cuddle her, her face pressed against his neck. His body is warm and as comforting as always. He mutters how much he loves her several more times.
Some time later again, Faye raises her head from his chest and says in her scratchy voice, “Should we play now?”
And Harry kisses her and says, “Yes, baby.”

Kelly Severide- One Hell Of A Day
Thank you for the request @maximeseveridecasey I changed it slightly. Also I wrote it then lost half of it! So I’m sorry if the ending seems a little rushed. I’m also no expert at medical situations so if I get something wrong I’m really sorry. Anyway, hope you enjoy!
The day started out as any other. Kelly and I woke up in our shared bed, the smell of the fresh linen hits my nose and I had put on fresh sheets the night before. Kelly and I started our usual routine I made coffee while he showered, then he made breakfast while I showered. Just like any other morning when we’re on shift together.
Early on in the morning we arrived at firehouse 51 together and everything was going well, that is until 2 hours into our shift. I started to feel uncomfortable in my stomach, thinking it could be just my period on its way I took some pain killers which helped. Yes, painkillers helped until they didn’t anymore.
I stand leaning over the sink having an awful pain shoot through my side when the alarm goes off. Groaning I stand up feeling a hand on my back
“You ok Maxime?” my boyfriend asks worriedly
“Yeah just my period coming” I tell him trying not to worry him, but that fails because I can see the worry creeping over his face already
“Sure?”
“Yeah. I’m fine” I dismiss him with a weak smile
“Max let’s go!” Dawson shouts for me hanging her body out of the drivers side of the ambulance
“Coming” I give Kelly a kiss on the cheek before jumping into the passenger side. The drive to the house fire feels like it’s very slow. The whole time I am shifting about trying to relive the discomfort in my right side which causes Gabby to notice
“What’s up with you today? You look like your about to puke, cry and scream all at once”
“Just my period on its way making me feel like crap. Let’s just get this over with so I can crawl into a bed and go to sleep”
“You mean a certain lieutenants bed” I glance over to look at Gabby who’s giving me quick look wiggling her eyebrows. I roll my eyes in response at her making her laugh.
Once arriving to the fire I can see smoke pooling out of the windows. Jumping down I walk round the side of the ambulance as I watch Kelly run into the building with no fear. Pulling the stretcher out the pain in my side gets worse and now I feel like I could throw up any minute
“Max you don’t look good” Gabby tells me with a worried expression. Knowing there’s no point in lying to her I sigh
“Just don’t feel good today. As soon as we get back I’m just going to nap”
“We’ve got a victim here fallen down the stairs. She unconscious and has possible spinal injuries” Gabby and I look at one another before quickly running into the burning building.
Immediately I can see a woman lying on the floor with a nasty looking gash on her forehead. Between the both of us we get her on the stretcher. Suddenly there’s a huge blast that throws me across the room. My ears ring and the pain in my side almost becomes unbearable. I look around and notice smoke and fire all around us. Coughing I wait for my hearing to come back. When it finally does I can hear both mine and Gabby’s alarms going off
“Gabs?” I groan
“I’m here. You ok?”
“My legs trapped”
“Severide, Casey do you copy”
“We’re ok. How are you and Max?” I hear Casey radio to Gabby
“I’m fine. Max has a cut on her head and her legs trapped under a beam”
“We’re on our way stay put”
“Wasn’t planning on it” I try to joke but start coughing. In no time at all Matt and Kelly are here helping Gabby pull the beam off my leg making me scream and cough
“Let’s get your leg checked out” Kelly says picking me up and carrying me out of the building
“Kel, my side hurts. Like really hurts it’s not my period”
“Ok when did it get worse?”
“Just has throughout the day”
“Ok let’s get you in the ambo and to hospital”
At some point I fell asleep, because as I come to and try to open my eyes everything feels way to bright so close my eyes again
“Hey” I hear Kelly’s voice. I try opening my eyes again “do you want a drink?” Only now do I notice that my voice feels scratchy and dry. I slowly nod my head yes and Kelly is quick to grab me a cup of water. He places the cup against my lips that immediately feel less dry, and take a sip. The cool water soothes my throat. After drinking the small cup Kelly places it down “how do you feel”
“Like I’ve been throw about a room” I attempted to joke but can see Kelly doesn’t quite find it funny
“Babe why didn’t you tell me the true extent of the pain you were in. You had appendicitis. They burst when you passed out before we got you in the ambulance”
“It only got really bad when we go to the scene. I was going to relax when we got back”
“Ok” Kelly bends down and kisses my forehead then smooths any loose hair “the others are waiting outside to see you. Want me to let them in?”
“Sure” I give Kelly a smile and watch him get up before leaving the room. I’ve loved that man for a long time now, but as soon as I’m better I’ll be proposing to him. I want to spend the rest of my life with him.

he slowly pushes his dick into you. “fuck baby. so fucking wet.” his head is thrown back as he bottoms out. “you okay?” his attention going back to you. you nod slowly starting to fuck yourself on him. “keep doing that im gonna cum so fast.” his moans are deep and some of them are coming out as whimpers. he pushes you thighs further to fuck you deeper. “shit shit. so pretty baby fuck.” he’s moaning non stop and so are you.
“gonna cum all good and deep in you. tell me you want it my pretty girl.” you moan loudly at his words. “want your c-cum so bad jungwoo.”
“yea baby? ill give it to you don’t you worry.” he gives your neck and cheek warm soft kisses as he fucks into you quicker. “so fucking tight. you’re gonna kill me pretty.”
jungwoo moans as his dick twitches. “s-so close woo“ you cry out. “yea pretty? cum for me baby.” he sends more soft kisses up your body. “gonna cum too baby. gonna fill you up so prettily. you want that?” he asks you again. you nod dumbly. not able to form words at the speed of his hips.
“i’m cumming jungwoo-“ your legs shake as you cum undone on his dick. your high immediately causing him to cum right after you. he watches as his cums shoots into you. slowly watching it ooze out of you. “f-fuck look at this mess.” he hips picking up speed again. “jungwoo- another round-“ he just nods. “you can take it right? fuck i just can’t not when you look this good under me baby. tell me if you’re okay tho? ill pull out.” he stills his hips waiting for an answer.
“i’m good love.” you smile at him. “good baby because im gonna fuck you nice and slow.” his hips fucking into at a slow pace. his dick is hitting you at a deeper angle.
hes kissing against your skin. his deep moans and whimpers taking you to bliss. “so fucking good. i can’t ah fuck-“ his hips speeding up again. he’s watching your pleasured facial expressions as more of his cum continues to drip out of you. “i’m gonna cum-“ you legs are shaking again. “me too fuck. you feel so fuck-fucking good.” his hips stutter and his cum is filling you up. you cumming after him. “shit baby.” he whispers still watching his cum drip. “you did so well. you feeling okay?”
“yea im good. so good. always feels good. he kisses you before he pulls out of you immediately grabbing something to clean you with. “okay good baby. want to order some food?” he asks after finishes cleaning you up. “i’m literally starving so yes.” he nods giving you a quick kiss before you two continue your night.

Forbidden Fruit (Ona Batlle x Reader)
So to all my Ona supporters this one is for you #justiceforOna hope this does it justice for you!! Also there is going to be a part 2 but I wanted to put something out for y’all today. Thank you for all the responses and asks these past few days made me want to write again!! Enjoy!!
You were having one of the best naps you have had in a long time, you could feel Ona in front of you as you spooned her from behind, smelling her shampoo. You had missed her and this felt perfect, until you heard the incessant buzzing of your phone on the nightstand behind you. Groaning you tucked your face further in the back of Ona’s head hoping the buzzing would stop. You let out a breath when it stopped, and groaned when it started again.
Rolling over you reached your hand out and swiped your phone, picking up the call without looking at it and saying “What” into the speaker.
“Hola hermanita, sounds like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed” you hear Alexia voice on the other end of the phone, which immediately puts you on alert and you sit up in bed.
Before you can warn Ona she turns and says “What’s going on babe?”
“Y/N who’s that with you? I thought you were supposed to be job hunting all weekend not hanging out?” you hear Alexia ask on the other end of the phone.
Immediately you go into damage control and say “it’s just the tv Ale, I have been job hunting” as you feel Ona move and tuck her face under the pillow to stay quiet.
Alexia laughs and says “okay the tv, sure just make sure they’re gone by the time I get home tomorrow hermanita”
Rolling your eyes you ask her “was there a reason you called Ale or were you just checking up on me?” You settle back against the headboard using your free hand to scratch Ona’s scalp beside you, she turns her head and smiles at you.
“Yes, I wanted to know if you wanted to come with me and the Spain girls next month to Ibiza during the break?” she asks.
You look down and meet Ona’s eyes who smiles and nods at you. You smile and answer back to your sister “Yeah, that would be fun Ale thanks!”
“just try not to sleep with any of them please, I don’t need that headache again but with you this time” she says with a laugh.
You can’t help but laugh and look down at Ona beside you in bed who heard that too and is smirking at you. “Who do you think I am? Alba? I’m the good sister Ale.” you tell her with a laugh.
“Yeah yeah if you say so hermanita! Anyway I gotta go, I just wanted to ask before I forget to mention it, but I’ll see you tomorrow?” she asks.
Nodding you tell her “Si Ale, I’ll see you tomorrow when you’re back, also good game yesterday!”
“Thanks hermanita! Have a good night” Alexia says and hangs up with you.
You chuckle and put your phone on the bedside table, before you can do anything else Ona has moved and settled on your lap straddling you. Placing your hands on her hips you look up at her as she says “didn’t take you much to break her rule” with a smirk.
You lean closer to her and whisper “its a lot of fun being a rule breaker with you” before you press your lips to hers. She deepens the kiss and presses down against you.
You lose your self in her before she’s pulling back with a laugh and says “that really wasn’t hard to get you to break the rules hermosa.”
Shaking your head you laugh and tell her “I have a flight to catch in 4 hours, do you want to talk about Ale or do you want to break her rules love?”
Chuckling she presses her lips back to yours and all thoughts of Alexia and her rules are forgotten and you use the rest of your time in Manchester wisely. It wasn’t until you were sitting on the plane back to Barcelona that you thought about what you are doing.
You had been away in the USA since you were 18, completing both your undergrad and your masters in sports psychology. Once you had graduated after close to 8 years abroad you knew it was time to come home, and when Alexia fresh off a break up offered for you to stay with her you couldn’t say no.
It was tough coming back after being gone for so long, none of the people you knew from before were still around, or they were not who you remembered. It was tough being back so when Alexia offered to bring you along to meet some of the Spanish players you jumped at the chance. Alexia being a few years older then you meant you were always the baby sister and she didn’t let you tag along to these events before. Now that you were older she wanted to spend time with you.
Living abroad meant that you were a bit disconnected from your sisters, but you became a confident to both of them when all the drama happened 3 years ago between them. You had been the middle neutral party for both of them, but you knew that when Alexia asked you to pinky promise you wouldn’t sleep with one of her teammates she really meant it.
However, after one night of dancing and flirting with Ona at the club you felt for the first time ever that you might break a promise with Alexia. You managed to reign it in and only enjoy the flirting and dancing the first night. It wasn’t until the next afternoon when you were out wandering in the neighbourhood did you see her again.
She was out for a run, in shorts and a sports bra and she quite literally ran into you as you were walking out of a cafe with a coffee, which ended up all over you. She felt bad and invited you up to her hotel room, which was next door to clean up, one thing led to another and you were making up an excuse to your sister why you were not coming home that night. And then making excuses for the rest of the week as you couldn’t get enough of the young spaniard.
Feeling horrible about breaking your pinky promise to Alexia you decided that when Ona was leaving you would end it and come clean. Instead she confessed that she wanted to see where this went as she had feelings for you and wanted to try this long distance. Deciding it was worth it, and you weren’t technically breaking your promise since you weren’t just sleeping with her, you were falling for her.
Now 8 months down the road here you are, leaving Manchester after spending a sneaky 36 hours with your love. Taking advantage of anytime Alexia had away games you would try to sneak out to Manchester and see Ona. You were not too well known since you had been away for so long, and you used it to your advantage and attended many of Ona’s games. The team was comfortable with you hanging around, but they gave you and Ona your space.
Seeing Barcelona come into view from the plane window you knew you needed to make a decision and you couldn’t keep this from your older sister much longer, but how she might react scared the crap out of you.
**
For the next few days every time you were alone with Alexia all you could think about is coming clean to her, but you were still so scared of how she would react. One afternoon she had texted and let you know she would be home late from training so you took advantage and FaceTimed Ona from the living room. You both normally took to texting and late night calls, but being alone this afternoon you changed it up.
You were so distracted by your love that you missed the door opening and Alexia walking in. It wasn’t until you heard a “Hola Hermanita.”
Hearing that sent you into an absolute panic and you tossed your phone across the room, cringing as the screen broke. Making eye contact with your sister after the shattering you both pause and then immediately she starts laughing causing you to join in.
“I hate you Ale, you scared the shit out of me” you tell your sister after you settle down.
She laughs wiping the tears from her eyes as she asks “so what you were going to defend your self by throwing your phone?”
You nod and chuckle “I guess so.”
“Whoever the mystery person you were talking to isn’t gonna like being cut off like that” she mentions as she continues to move around the kitchen putting things away.
You freeze and ask her “what are you talking about?”
She laughs and tells you “Y/N I am not an idiot, I know you have someone. I am not pressuring you to tell me, and even if they are just a good friend thats okay too. But you have been a lot happier recently, and someone on the other side of your phone does that to you.”
You blush looking at her and ask “is it that obvious?”
She nods and moves closer to you and says “anyone who can make you that happy is already in my good books hermanita.”
Smiling at her you whisper out “thank you Ale.”
She pulls you into a hug and you wrap your arms back around her squeezing. You stay in her arms and try to work up the nerve to tell her who it is. “I’m proud of you Y/N” she whispers into your hair.
Hearing that makes you so happy, but you also feel your stomach drop, as you do not know how she is going to take it after this. Before you can say anything she pulls back and says “I am going to go shower and crash.”
“have a good night Ale.” You tell her as she turns away.
“Goodnight Hermanita” she tells you back and heads to her room.
You move to your phone and pick it up to see the screen completely shattered, knowing you won’t be able to use that tonight. You head up to your room and use your computer to message Ona and explain what happened. You fall asleep with a heavy weight on your chest knowing you are hiding someone very important to you from your sister.
**
Luckily the next few weeks flew by, and with Alexia having a heavy game schedule including multiple away games it made it easier for you to keep your secret. You were leaving for Ibiza tomorrow with the team, but you were hoping to see Ona before you joined the rest of the group. Luckily Alexia had to leave for a media event so you had Ona over.
Being smart about it you set an alarm for the time you knew Alexia would be home, but you left your phone downstairs when you and Ona got distracted in bed. Lying in bed with only the sheet over you, you were on your back with Ona leaning on her arm beside you, one arm across your stomach playing with your fingers.
“How am I supposed to be resist you the next few days?” she asks you with a small smile.
You chuckle and ask her “you didn’t get it out of your system tonight?”
She shakes her head and says “I never get enough of you.”
“You smooth talker” you chuckle at her.
She laughs and leans down and presses a kiss to your lips, you smile and respond deepening the kiss. She adjusts and moves to lie on top of you while keeping your lips connected. You move your hands down to her ass and before it can go any further you hear a door slam and Alexia yell “Y/N! Wanna go get dinner?”
You both immediately scramble out of bed and you yell down “Yes let me shower first.” As Ona starts putting on clothes you wave at her trying to gesture her to hide.
“20 minutes and we’re leaving” she yells up and you hear the tv turn on.
Knowing that she won’t be coming up you turn and whisper to Ona “You’ll have to sneak out when we leave” she sits on your bed and you turn to head into the bathroom and shower. Taking the quickest shower of your life to make sure that Ona isn’t found out.
Coming back into your room she’s lying on your bed waiting for you and she turns and says “too bad we couldn’t have enjoyed that shower together.”
Chuckling you forget you need to be quiet and you hear Alexia yell “Y/N who you talking to?”
“No one I stubbed my toe!” you tell her adding on “I’ll be ready in 5.”
Putting clothes on and chucking your hair up in a bun you turn to Ona and ask “I’ll text you the code so you can go out the garage?”
She nods and sits up on the end of the bed and reaches out and pulls you into her, you stand between her legs as she wraps her arms around you and says “breathe babe, breathe”
You nod and take a deep breath and whisper in her ear “thank you love, I needed that.”
She presses her lips to your forehead and whispers “I love you Y/N, and we will have a great time in Ibiza”
Smiling you whisper “I love you too” and press your lips to hers.
There isn’t time for it to deepen before you hear Alexia yell up “5 minutes are up I am hungry!”
Smiling you press one more kiss to her lips and turn and head out of your room, running down the stairs you say “I’m ready I’m ready”
“took you long enough” Alexia says with an eye roll, you shake your head and gesture her out the door. You hop in her car and are a few minutes down the road when your phone buzzes with a text message:
O <3 - Mission accomplished, garage door secure, I will see you tomorrow babe xoxo
Smiling at your phone you hear Alexia say “the mystery person strikes again.”
“Yes they did Ale” you say with a smile as you pull up to the restaurant you see the Barca girls waiting so you know you won’t have any time to talk to Alexia about Ona tonight but you will still enjoy your night.
**
Getting to Ibiza was uneventful, and being Alexia’s sister you were sharing a room which would make it harder to see Ona. You had decided that seeing her from afar and getting to know her as a friend would be a fun game to play this weekend. Everyone spent the day by the pool at the airbnb but after a lazy day everyone was ready to party. The group went for dinner and then decided to hit up a local club.
It was tough to not dance on Ona, but the good thing about being Spanish was that everyone was touchy feeling so dancing close to her wasn’t hard or suspicious. You had snuck off to the bar to take a breather when you hear behind you “Hola beautiful can I by you a drink?”
Turning you see a tall tattooed man and you immediately feel uncomfortable. Shaking your head you say “no thank you.”
He steps closer and says “Come one a pretty thing like you needs a man like me to buy her a drink.”
Immediately feeling uncomfortable you tell him “no I am okay” again and make eye contact with Ona who can sense the discomfort.
Before you can move he places his hand on your arm and says “I think you’ll find that I will not take no for an answer” as you feel his finger grip your forearm.
Before you have a chance to respond Alexia and Mapi have both stepped in between you two and you feel horrible for making a scene until you feel Ona’s hand entwine with yours and she whispers in your ear “come with me babe.”
You nod and let her pull you out of the dance floor and towards the back of the club, where she opens an office door and pulls you in, where she sits on the couch and then pulls you towards her and wraps her arms around you. She presses her lips to your head and whispers “it’s okay love I got you”
“sorry for that” you tell her quietly.
“No, there is nothing to be sorry for, not when a man is making you uncomfortable like that” she says very firmly.
You turn and look up at her and ask “yeah?”
“yes” she nods.
You smile and tell her “I love you Ona”
“I love you too” she says and presses her lips to yours, but before you can deepen it the door slams open and you both pull back and immediately she says “I can explain” to the person.

Binder, Binder, On The Wall
ao3
so i dug this out of the drafts from like 2021 after watching s5 because i needed some silly spicynoodles after all of. that.
can be read as anytime around seasons 1 or 2
780 words
“Catch you at a bad time, noodle boy?” Red Son cackled, clearly revved up for a fight.
MK chanced a grimaced smile. “Kind of, yeah.”
“Well, now you know how I feel! Now, I’ll be taking that staff.”
“What, this?” MK asked, with a silent promise to himself that if he just pushed through the pain for now, he’d be fine. “I don’t think so!”
His promise didn’t seem to be working out, because as that hothead attacked him, MK’s own attacks were sluggish and uncoordinated. His body was aching in pain, and he needed to hurry up so he could get these bandages off and—
MK went flying, landing in a heap, though his staff was still safely in hand.
He didn’t get up.
He didn’t have the strength. Or the energy. Or the will.
“Get up and fight me you coward!” Red Son demanded.
MK just groaned, clutching his free hand to his ribs.
“Ugh, you peasant, I’ll just — okay, seriously, are you okay?”
MK glanced up, surprised to find genuine concern creasing his enemy’s brow.
“None of your business,” MK grumbled.
“Um, it is too my business if it keeps you from giving me your full attention in our battle!”
MK fanned himself with his shirt, sweat dripping down his body without care.
“I can’t—” he wheezed slightly, “I can’t breathe.”
Red Son scrunched his face in that cute way he did when he was genuinely considering something. “Have you tried inhaling?”
“Yes I’ve tried—oh god I think I understand why the internet told me this wasn’t smart now.”
Fuck. If his ribs weren’t already broken, they had to be close. His body hurt like hell, and as much as he hated the feeling, he had to take off the bandages he’d used to bind… when had he put them on, sometime yesterday afternoon?
“What?” Red Son demanded, “what the hell did you even do to yourself?”
MK smiled up at him sheepishly. “Just some improper binding habits.” It wasn’t like he could afford a real one. And he couldn’t burden Pigsy with that either, that would be—
“I don’t… understand.”
Heat rushed to MK’s face. “Um. I’m… you don’t know what binding is?”
“It sounds like a nonsense human thing,” Red Son scoffed.
“Yes yes, nonsense human stuff,” MK agreed, shifting carefully on the ground. “Anyways, not that it’s not great beating you, but can we like… rain check?”
“Psh, beating me, you’re not even moving. Agree that I win today and I’ll be off.”
“But you don’t have my staff!” MK shot back with a smug grin.
“Oh, right.”
They stared at each other for a moment.
“So… truce?” MK offered.
“Ugh, fine. But you won’t be so lucky next time, noodle boy!”
“See you tomorrow,” MK grumbled, half waving as Red vanished in a puff of fire.
Now to climb the set of stairs to his apartment — or, screw that. He gripped his staff, essentially pogoing up and right to the door.
As painful as it was, at least he was up.
He fumbled with the keys, collapsing onto his bed the moment he was inside.
He pushed his shirt up, his arms feeling like limp noodles — heh, kind of ironic — and absolutely not having the energy to so much as twitch, let alone get these accursed bandages off.
Most of him would rather suffer the pain and just sleep. But he had a feeling that would only make things worse, and he was pretty sure he would break a rib or two if he kept these bandages on for much longer.
If only one of the 72 transformations included transgender.
But it was what it was. No matter how much it sucked.
Exhausted, he sluggishly removed his already sloppily applied bandages, able to breathe properly for the first time in 18 or more hours.
It didn’t take long for him to pass out, on top of the covers and halfway between mattress and floor. It didn’t matter too much to him. He just needed a really, really long nap.
------
He woke up sometime after midnight to go to the bathroom, trudging through the piles of clean and dirty laundry alike strewn on his floor. Every inch of his body ached like he’d been trapped under a mountain for 500 years.
Damn, that must have sucked.
As he made the trek back to his bed, he noticed, faintly outlined in the dark, something neatly folded on his pillow.
He turned on the lamp on his bedside table, now able to see a note written in an impossibly neat scribble placed atop a brand new binder.
You owe me a real fight. -R.S.

It's like 3 am where I am, but I could sleep so instead I did my essay and now it is finished. YAYAYAYAY!!!!!!!!!!!1
A great weight has been lifted off my shoulders, I can go back to writing fanfiction now, hooray. After taking the weekend for a break cause words are starting to hurt my eyes (jk)
In celebration, I'm putting another already-written chapter here on Tumblr.

Summary:
Here's Cresent's POV of Chapter 2, also all chapters from here are set in the past until I say otherwise, so don't get all mixed up.
Notes:
I had no ideas for this chapter, so I wrote this. the songs for this chapter are Opportunity and Youngblood
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
I was out for my walk (just kidding I was going for a snack at the dining pavilion) when I suddenly heard a LOT of screaming coming from Half-blood Hill. So being the very sensible person I was. I went to check it out.
As I walked, a boy with curly red hair reached the top of the hill. He noticed Peleus, the dragon that guards the Golden Fleece and Thalia’s tree. The idiot didn’t notice a rock behind him as he backed away and came tumbling down the hill (it was hilarious and very hard not to laugh at).
At that point, I had reached the base of the hill, and he landed right in front of me, face first. When he looked up the first thing I noticed were his solid gold eyes. They had a confident shine in them, which was weird for a boy who just come rolling down a hill. His red hair fell on his face in a dorky, cute way, which I may or may not have smiled at. He had a few piercings on his ears and was wearing a black hoody with a star on the front.
It was very obvious that this guy was new, which was amazing cause I was new too, and was having trouble making friends (don’t tell Will though, I don’t want to bother him) I arrived a few weeks ago, and got claimed a while after that, a daughter of hades I was apparently. I had a whole cabin to myself, with not a single sign of anyone else.
I was also introverted and autistic, so human (or is it demigod) interactions didn’t come that easily to me. I wanted someone to hang out with and talk to, but getting out there was always so hard, especially after what happened last time. Anyways, the new guy started to get up but instantly fell back down. His ankle seemed to be broken, and we weren’t necessarily close to the infirmary.
So I decided that as my one good deed of the day, I used the nearest shadow to send him to the infirmary, causing me to be fatigued. I knew that Will would be in the infirmary and knew it was probably me who sent the new guy there, so I wasn’t that worried, also new guy would probably pass out, so no worrying about him panicking. I went back to my snack quest before heading to my cabin for a well-earned rest.
When I woke up from my quick nap, I found a kit Kat waiting for me on the nightstand, because Will knew me too well, and a glass of water. I took the food and headed out, wanting to check on my buddy in the infirmary.
I reached the infirmary and heard voices inside. “He’s awake, yes. Ok Cresent, you only have one shot of this. DON’T. MESS. UP” While I was giving my little motivation speech in my head, Will came over and opened the door, because only Will could have such bad timing. I tried to act like I was about to open the door on my own and walked through. “Ok, fingers crossed”
“Hey, I just wanted to check in on the new guy” I said trying to stay calm and collected.
“Hi, I’m over here, and I have a name, by the way.” So he thinks he’s funny. No problem, I can fix that.
“Ya, well I can’t exactly ask if the person is passed out, now can I.”
“Ok, I guess you’re right, I’m Quinn, Quinn Victory, and you?” Shocked Will didn’t mention me already but fine. “Also they have a really cool name”
“Cresent Solace, it’s nice to meet you. Now, if you’re feeling better, would you like a tour of camp?” “Smooth Cres, smooth”
“I’d love that, thanks” “Yesssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Quinn got out of his cot and followed me out of the infirmary. I couldn’t think of any place I’d rather be.
I think this is one of my fav chapters, now here is my essay for any idiots who would want to read it
From Crisis to Clarity: How access to clean water improves lives.
Clean water is important for many things. It is a must for our survival, as it used in multiple aspects of our lives. We use it for keeping ourselves clean and healthy. While this is the case, a large population of people do not have access to clean water. A lot of people could be healthier and lead better lives with our help, and here is how.
How does clean water improve our lives?
Clean water has multiple benefits. It keeps us healthy and hydrated. Clean water keeps us clean as well. We use it to cook, clean ourselves and drinking. If we only had contaminated water, We would all be sick and obviously less capable to do different tasks.
Everyday, we use clean water to hydrate ourselves, making sure we can still commit to all our daily tasks with ease. We use it to cook food, to give us nutrition and energy for our bodies to use. We use it to wash ourselves, making sure we look and smell our best. Clean water is important for many reason, this just listing a few.
What about the rest?
Not everyone has access to clean water. Even though there is a large population that does have access, many people don’t and are at risk of getting diseases that could easily be avoided if they had clean water. Contaminated water collected form unsupervised wells, springs, lakes, ponds, etc., can cause great illness if not cleansed properly, which in most cases, is not.
In some cases, clean water is available, but not necessarily accessible. People have to travel far distances to collect the water, and then come back to their homes. This isn’t a sustainable way to live, going back and forth for such a basic necessity. According to the WHO, this happens “not only between rural and urban areas but also in towns and cities where people living in low-income, informal or illegal settlements usually have less access to improved sources of drinking-water than other residents.” leading to people searching for anything in the would suffice, even if it is unsanitary.
Some of these people don’t have as much of a choice as the rest of us. These people aren’t able to simple go to their kitchen and instantly get a cup of water, clean water. As many things are, it is more complicated than that. It is up to us to come up with ways to help there people attain the healthier live that the rest of us can already.
How can we help?
Water is a truly sacred thing. It should also be available and accessible to everyone. Some ways we can help other communities access clean water is donating into creating better water-cleaning facilities and educating these people on the better ways they can clean their water, so we can all be lovely and healthy.
Conclusion
In conclusion, clean water is a very important asset in our lives and it is upon us, the more fortunate people to share it with as many as we can. Water is crucial for our survival, and with our contributions and teachings, far more people will be able to access it. Everyone should be clean, it’s possible and with our help it will happen.
This is my longest post for sure, if you made it this far, here is a cookie 🍪🥠🏺

Part 10
Words:2732
The day after seeing Dabi causes you a bunch stress, luckily Keigo is there
Yandere boyfriend Hawks x reader x yandere ex boyfriend Dabi
You didn’t get much sleep that night, every time you drifted off you woke up thirty minutes later covered in sweat, hands shaking and breath uneasy.
It was four in the morning and since you weren’t going to get any sleep, you took a cold shower to try and shock your system back to normal, didn’t work.
You thought if you should go to the police about this, but you knew if you did bring it up. His dad would just fix it, like he always did. The only thing you could think of for the time being is to stay alert and maybe invest in a tazer, along with some mace.
Your first class was in twenty minutes, you reached for the doorknob but checked out the peephole first, no one…still what if he was waiting. Maybe you should text Keigo.
Keigo let out a yawn as he just got out of class and was on his way to the fountain to head to English class when his phone started buzzing, you were calling.
“Heyo, everything okay?” He asked
“Thanks, Keigo,” you said and hung up as he walked to your apartment, no Dabis around, maybe he was successful in scaring him off. He knocked on your door
“I think… well I'm not sure, look I can't find the nerve to leave my apartment to go to class, do you think you could walk with me?”
“Sure thing I’m close by anyways, see you soon.”
“Hey (name), I'm here to escort you.” He chimed out, as you opened the door “Good lord did you not sleep last night.”
“Do I look that worn out…” you mumbled
“Sorry that was rude, but…you look tired.” He said
“I couldn't stay asleep, too shacky.” you explained as you locked the door behind you “Thanks for walking with me.”
“No problem.” He said with a smile, the walk to class was quiet and you two walked in.
“Well, look who is late again.’ The teacher said “And miss (last name), I see you are joining him.”
“Why are you always singling us out teach,” Keigo asked
“You two just sit down,” he said and got back to the board, you felt your classmate's eye on you again, you gripped your bag, and quickly went to back two with Keigo. You weren't really paying attention to this lesson, your mind was reeling with what to do.
“Should I even tell my parents about this.” you thought as you tapped the pencil to the table “What would they even be able to do, I don't want them to worry, I don't want to drag anyone into this mess, my mess, ugh I always drag everyone into my messes. Sereisoly I need to handle this on my own, but I don't even know how to fight him.”
Keigo tapped your shoulder with his pencil snapping you out of your trance
“Psst, you seem zoned out you good,” he whispered
“I'm okay, just thinking,” you said and looked back at the teacher
“Keigo already stuck his neck out for me to get Dabi out of my place, what if he targets him next, he is my only friend here, I don't want to see him get hurt.”
You looked down at your empty notebook at the end of class, god you were a mess right now. Keigo placed his hand on your shoulder and gave you a little shake.
“You know maybe you should go home and get some rest.” he suggests “Take a nap.”
“No, no, no.” you said, “I am not letting him get in the way of my studies again.”
“Well you aren't exactly studying,” he said pointing to your notebook
“Rude,” you said
“Yup you a need and maybe some cake.” he said
“I don't think sweets can fix this mess Keigo.” you replied “Besides even if I went home for a nap, I wouldn’t be able to sleep. I'm still…confuzzled.”
“confuzzled?” he asked
“Yes confuzzled, both confused and puzzled,” you explained
“Ah, well tell you what, how about, I first send you a photo of the notes, you go take a nap, and then I come to get you for the cake once I'm done with my next class.” he suggested, “I really don't think Dabi will be bothering you.”
“What makes you so sure?” you asked
“Just a hunch,” Keigo said
“I think I need more than a hunch,” you said as you walked out of the classroom, You once again noticed your classmates staring at you and Keigo, before whispering in each other ears and giggling a bit.
“Tell you what, ill keep my phone on and if you think anything funny is happening call me and ill be right over,” he said
“I really don't want to pull you into a mess more than I already have…I don't want to see you get hurt,” you said
“Trust me, I use to be a street rat remember, I can hold my own pretty well.” Keigo boosted “And you need a nap…you are barely awake right now, I'm not gonna stop pestering you till you go take one.”
“Keigo my classes-”
“You can find the lesson online.” he said “Now off to bed with you.”
“Fine fine fine.” you yawned out
“Great and afterward we will go get cake,” he said and ruffled your hair
“Hey,” you said
“Sorry old habit,” he said as you fixed your hair
“I'll see you later,” you said and walked off still looking over your shoulder, Keigo waved bye to you, and then his face fell when you left
“Fucking asshole.” he thought as he was reminded of Dabi “I don't have the whole story about him, but I have seen enough to know what type of man he is.”
Keigo walked back to class, looking at his contacts, he wondered if he should contact her for information, although she would probably be angry to hear from him again asking for a favor.
He sat down in his seat and looked at the board, Yuki sat next to him.
“Hey Kei,” she said
“You forgot the ‘go’ part,” he said
“Come on, Kei is a cute nickname since you don't like to be called hawks,” she explained
“Yuki, please just stick with Takami,” he asked
“Aw come on, are you still upset at me?” she asked “I was just trying to warn you.”
“Yuki, I really have to focus on the board so.” Keigo scooted away from her a bit
“Fine, fine but tell me when did the thing between you and her start, like when did you and her start dating?” She asked
“....excuse me?” Keigo said looking at her like she had two heads.
“One of my friends said you and her came to class together and she looked super unrested, so we assumed you spent the night together,” Yuki said, Keigo eye twitched a bit, but he let out a chuckle
“Is that what people are saying now.” Keigo said, “Well you people will spread whatever rumors you want.”
“So you two arent dateing?” Yuki asked as she scooted closer to him
“Nope,” Keigo said as he tried to scoot away again, thinking Yuki needed a lesson in ready body language.
“Oh, that's good.” Yuki said, “I mean I'm sure the emotional baggage from her other relationship is still heavy in the air, you shouldn't have to deal with that.”
"Okay I know I promised I would stop attacking people but she is making it really hard to keep that promise," Keigo thought
“Also I've seen your car as well, do you think I could get a ride in it?”
“Nope, I only take special people for rides in that,” Keigo said as he gathered his books and moved to the front leaving Yuki alone.
You meanwhile were in bed taking a nap, as you hugged your cinnamonroll plush. Maybe it was the fact it was daytime, and Dabi was more of a night owl, you remembered when the two of you would stay up late watching whatever movie you could find, till the sun came out and you two would be passed out on the floor under the blankets without a care in the world.
You wondered how long these memories would continue to plague you.
You woke up to a knock on your door, you let out a yawn and checked the time, 4:09
“Great my sleep schedule is thrown off,” you mumbled as you got up and looked out the peephole to see Keigo standing outside, you opened the door.
“Morning sleeping beauty, did you get some rest?” he asked as you just let out a yawn
“Sure…” you said, “What do you get there?”
You pointed to the box in his hand
“Cake,” he said handing you the box
“I thought you wanted to go out for cake?” you asked
“Well you still seem, a little shaken up so I just got a couple of my favorites for you to try,” he explained, you smiled
“Well want to come in and eat some with me then,” you asked
“I'd love to.” he said and scrolled in taking his shoes off and looking around the place “Got to say I'm digging your decor.”
“Thanks.” you said as you sat the box down on the table “I try.”
Keigo sat across from you and opened the box taking out two slices
“Okay you want the strawberry or chocolate Torte?” he asked
“I'll take the strawberry one, thanks,” you said as you took the slice and took the strawberry and put it to the side of the plate
“Hey, you are skipping the best part,” Keigo said
“I am saving it for later,” you said as you took a bite
“Oh, you are one of those people who save the best for last,” Keigo said
“What you are one of those guys who eat the best thing first.” You retorted
“Sure am, what can I say, I may have some minor self-control issues,” he said as he took a bite “I'm working on it.”
“Well the cake is good, what is the name of the place?” you asked
“Grand old sweets shop, it's run by this cute elderly couple, I've been going there for a while,” Keigo said “Altho off-topic question real quick.”
“Shoot,” you said
“Well, it's about Yuki.” Keigo said, “What can you tell me about her.”
“Bystandard and follower, she always takes the side of whoever is winning.” you said bluntly “She wasn't one of the main ringleaders of my bullying, but she sure was there encouraging them and joining with them.”
“Ah,” Keigo said blankly
“Why do you ask?” you said
“...she has been flirting with me and I really don't like it.” Keigo said “And no boundaries when it comes to personal space, and this is coming from me.”
“My condolences,” you said
“(Name) this is serious, you know anything she hates, like the type of guys she hates,” he said
“Why would you want to change how you act around her so she backs off?” you asked
“Leaves a sour taste in my mouth yes,” Keigo responded
“So she leaves me alone.” Keigo said “Her attitude is really…”
“Sour.” you sugessted
“Well sorry to say but I never really paid attention to who my classmates were dating.” you said “But just say, I know you're flirting with me, but I don't like you.”
“You are just straight to the point huh.” Keigo said, “I envy that.”
“Eh I'm pretty sure it's the reason my classmates didn't like me,” you said as you took another bite “Why do you like to adjust how you act around people so they like you?”
“I-I mean, maybe sometimes I do,” Keigo said
“You aren't acting with me right?” you asked “Case I want to make sure the friend I am talking to, is actually my friend.”
“Of course it's me.’ Keigo said, “It's just kinda hard when I have been an ass for most of my teenage hood, so trying to be a better person, I feel like I don't have a good grip, on who I am.”
“I see,” you said
“Was that too much?” Keigo asked
“Not at all, I'm glad you told me because I’m sorta in the same boat.” you explained “I mean I use to be quite outgoing, I was in a couple of clubs in my first year of high school, but the bullying from my teammates made me quit. So I just wanted to fade into the background, not make a sound, but I grew bitter and miserable trying to hold it together, so I'm glad I'm in college and can maybe, you know, be happy, but I'm still not good around people.”
“Shit (name), what club were you in, oh let me Gusse, the literature club?” he asked, you let out a little laugh and shook your head no
“We didn't even have a literature club or book club…sadly,” you said
“Okay then was it baking?” he asked
“Nope.”
“Uhhh okay im gonna get it, Judo, kendo-”
“Wasnt a fighting club.” You said
“Really, you know I had a friend who was really into mixed material arts.” Keigo said, “Was it a sport?”
“Yup, you are in the ballpark.”
“Aha, softball!” Keigo pointed
“No that was a red herring,” you said
“Red herring is a type of fish so, swimming!” Kiego boosted
“Yup,” you said
“...Wait you were on the swimming team.” Keigo said, “That's awesome.”
“I was a pretty good swimmer, but sadly the bullying was too much and I quit after my first year.” You explained “id like to go swimming again sometime.”
“We should, I mean it's getting hotter around here,” Keigo said
“We should, maybe once Breck rolls around.” you said as you took the last bite of your cake And let out a sigh “Man I really don't want to watch all of those class videos but I have to.”
“Andi doesn't wanna go to work, but I need money.” Keigo groaned, you passed the strawberry over to his plate “For me?”
“Eat up.” you said “You paid for it and bought it so you can have the best part.”
“You are too sweet.” he said as he happily ate the strawberry “And can I tell you one last thing before I have to head out?”
“Sure,” you said
“Well, it's about yesterday, and about Dabi,” Keigo said he saw you start picking at your sleeve
“What about it?” you asked
“Well after I left your place he was waiting, for me I think,” Keigo said
“Oh god he didn't hurt you right?” you asked worryingly as you were scanning his body
“No, no no nothing like that.” Keigo said, “But well he tried and I may have… roughed him a bit.”
“....you did what now?” you asked
“That chump?’ Keigo snorted “I mean I kinda apprehended him in like ten seconds, his defense is laughable.”
“Okay that sounds bad, but hear me out, he swung at me first so I kinda-”
“No I mean how did you manage to rough him up?” you asked “I've seen Dabi knock some guys out cold.”
“....”
“Okay I'm getting off-topic, but look I just wanted to let you know, because I think you have the right to know.”
“Aghhh Keigo what if he comes after you?” you said
“I'll just do what I did last time,” Keigo said
“I mean with police, well actually I don’t think Dabi would go to the police, he swung first right?” you asked
“Yes, he swung first.” Keigo said, “Aw are you worried about me.”
“Yes!” you said
“And you aren't mad, I may have beat up your ex,” he said
“Not really, Dabi is just vengeful and full of spite, so be careful out there okay,” you said
“I will, I will.” Keigo said putting his hand over his heart “Scout honor.”
“You better,” you said
“Well I gotta get to work, and you got to catch up on work so, I shall come by to pick you up for class tomorrow, deal?”
“Deal, and next time ill pay for the cake,” you said as you lead Keigo out and waves him out to his car, he sent you a pair of finger guns as he got into his car and drove off.

You have been waiting for San to arrive for about twenty minutes now, and it would take another swipe on your phone before you heard a car’s honk.
choi san (girl dinner): i’m outside sab :))
Stepping out of the doorway, San would come out of his car, approaching you. In your hand you held a basket of grapefruits, which he would ask if he could take so he could carry it for you. You’d tell him to just take it since it was meant to be a gift. He leads you to the passenger seat, opening the door for you. You figured he’d probably do that with anyone, so you kept yourself from smiling like an idiot and just got yourself seated.
Once San had settled himself on the driver’s seat he’d ask you, “Are we good to go?”
“Yep.” you simply reply, looking straight ahead.
You were anxious, feeling a bit out of place. You didn’t have a reason to be there besides San inviting you. You never even knew about his sister before he talked to you about her.
“Were you able to get enough sleep last night? you were in the call till three a-m. I fell asleep at twelve, and I woke up when you left the call.” you were in a zoom call with the two last night for the thesis.
Your teacher had told you to change your topic since it overlapped with another from a different group. So with the night that followed, you were up all night with the two in a call, just searching for topics that concern the Humanities subject, and getting an outline draft started so all you’d have to do is cram everything on Sunday —your teacher had moved the deadline to Monday for your group.
“Yeah, I feel pretty okay. I’ve had, like, three cups of coffee —and a half.” you sigh towards the end of your utterance.
“And a half?” he questions, laughing a bit.
A yawn suddenly escapes your mouth, but you’d shake it off, reminding your body that you’ve had more caffeine than water. “I drank half off my mom’s morning coffee earlier.”
You felt his eyes glued on you, and you would see his stare from the corner of your eye. You look back at him instinctively, and you’d be met with a face of doubt.
“Are you sure you got some sleep?” you nod profusely at his words.
“Yes, I’m sure. I really am fine, don’t worry about me San.” but then another yawn was evoked from you.
“You can take a nap on the way to the hospital, make yourself comfortable, if you want, I can fix the back for you so you could lay—”
“No, no need! I’m fine right here.” you give him a hearty smile, and he’d return it with a soft one.
After the small talk, you were off to the hospital. He had informed you it was a bit further away from where you lived, but very close to his house. That was why you’d tell him a day prior to not bother picking you up, but he insisted anyway saying that he’s the one who wanted you there, so he should be the one to take you there.
...
\\
You followed closely behind San, stepping into the Intensive Care Unit. There, you saw his sister lying with her eyes closed, barely any movement being caught by your eyes.
“Hi Haneul, I brought a new friend with me today.” he says with a smile, as if his sister was smiling back at him.
You glanced at San who had laid his eyes on you once he finished speaking. Now you’re quite unsure of what to say, you’ve never been in a situation such as this one before. Despite your worries, San’s hand rests on your shoulder, giving it a light squeeze to provide some assurance, he could tell you were a bit tense.
“Her name is Sabrina. She’s really nice, and she has a cat too —he’s just as adorable as she is.” he’d be a little more quiet uttering the last few bits of his sentence, but you caught it.
You had no idea if you were successful with appearing indifferent with him calling you adorable —in real life and no longer just through messages, but San would be lying to himself if he said he didn’t see the pink tint on your cheeks.
You hear a sudden buzz, and it came from the back pocket of San’s pants —his phone. You watched him look at its screen briefly before putting it back where he had drawn it from. “Is it okay if I leave you here with my sister for a sec? I’m just gonna go and fetch Wooyo in the lobby.” you give him a small smile, nodding before he could even finish speaking.
When San went off, you were given a chance to take a better look at San’s sister. She’s just as beautiful as he was. You could guess it just runs in the family. They share very similar features, but his sister possessed softer lines compared to him.
“Hey sis, what’s up?” you jump a bit from where you stood, hearing the voice you gawked over one late night phone call ago, but now it sounded like how it usually does, making you sigh. “Oh, hi Sabrina.” Wooyoung turns to you and you’d see he was carrying quite a few paper bags with him. “This,” he hands you one, in your favorite color. “—is for you.”
You just wanted to take a peek inside, but he’d stop you.
“Nah-ah, not until you show me the thing.” your eyes widened, visibly confused with what he was referring to.
“What thing?” you ask back.
San just watched the two of you, shaking his head whilst he wore a subtle smile.
“The thing I told you I was gonna check today.” Wooyoung crosses his arms over his chest, his feet tapping on the tiled floor. “Does it ring any bells?”
Oh, it rings bells alright. You sigh heavily, closing your eyes and trying your best not to roll your eyes right at him. “You can check later, b. F. F.”
He then displays a cheeky smile. Instead of finding it annoying like you usually would —or should— you’d look down to the ground, fighting the smile that wanted to show itself on your lips.
“And this one’s for Haneul. Everyone misses you right now…” you watched as Wooyoung continued to speak to Haneul, even at her unresponsive state.
They were both updating her on the little happening in their lives, getting you involved in some of their stories —though they had to skip some— and urging you to tell Haneul a bit more about you. It was all sweet, and a little sad, still, all you could see was how endearing the two truly are. It was fascinating to see them like this, just talking with Haneul, throwing jokes from time to time, but it was all light-hearted fun. You didn’t expect to gain so much from a hospital visit for someone who you haven’t even talked to at all.
Later that day, after visiting hours, your trio decided to eat out somewhere —and also ran into one of their other friends, Seonghwa. He was quite nice, but every so often, he and Wooyoung were just talking amongst themselves, especially when Wooyoung had the great idea of taking everyone to the nearby clothing store. He and Seonghwa would be “looking at some clothes” but judging on the way their mouths moved, you could tell the talk was about something else.
All while that was happening, you stuck by San. He was picking out clothes for himself, asking for your opinion on his choices whenever he’d make one. Then as he looked over some more clothes, he’d initiate conversation. “So when would the playdate therapy be?”
You were a bit surprised by his question, thinking that the “playdate” he snuck into your messages was just a joke. “Oh, you were for real?”
“Of course I am.” he chuckled softly, the sound tickling your ears. “I want Byeol to have a best friend too. You know, like you and Wooyo.”
You chortled, almost breaking into a loud guffaw. “Sorry, I mean, yeah, we can make that happen. You know how to reach me, just text.” you end your sentence with a little tick sounding from your tongue and little finger guns pointing at him.
He giggles, forcing you to stare on his back as he hides his grin, pretending to be preoccupied with the clothing rack.
It was a long day of just that, and soon you were all headed home. Seonghwa went his separate way, shaking hands with you before he disappeared —he told you it was necessary. San had set himself up to take you and Wooyo home. There was a bit of bickering with who was gonna take the passenger seat, but in the end, the conflict was settled with San being completely done with the back and forths and demanding the both of you just be seated next to each other at the back.
There, you sat in silence, paying not much mind to Wooyoung who sat next to you, —surprisingly— remaining quiet as well. San played music to fill the dead air, but it didn’t change much, and you would keep your eyes on the streets, just sightseeing as you propped your head up against the car window. You got bored with it, so you’d whip out your phone, scrolling around whatever app, like always. You were free of worries until you heard a quiet “psst!”.
You already know what you were in for. You bit the insides of your cheek, turning your head just a little and just enough for you to see Wooyoung’s smug face.
“You have to show me.” you shake your head at him, and he’d furrow his eyebrows, tilting his head to side to question your refusal.
“I swear I changed it. Cross my heart, hope to die” and now he was the one shaking his head.
You’d imitate the eagerness on his face, knitting your brows as your lips formed a pout. You had expected for him to roast the living shit out of you and cook you into soup, but the look on your face would be replaced with utter confusion when he started laughing. When your eyes met, he’d only take you along with him, tittering away together.
Your laughter was a little quieter —for San’s sake— but it was so worth a while that you didn’t even notice how close Wooyoung had moved next to you. “Okay then, if you don’t want to, can I at least see the first three letters?” he whispers, moving just a little closer so you could hear him.
The way he asked made him sound so innocent that you chuckled, thinking about how silly it is for him to sound like that. “No!” you whisper back to him.
His smile grew wider, and you’d be perplexed by this. Not until you realized that the tip of your nose was only an inch away from touching.
“Okay, fine.” you utter out of sheer panic, distancing yourself from him and opening your contacts list on your phone.
He was quite surprised with you just giving in even though he was only half joking the whole time with asking to see what you had him saved as in your contacts. You’d swiftly move your upper body to face him, preventing him from seeing your phone screen as you held it up to your face, he could only keep his eyes on the brand logo at the back of your phone. Once you’ve found a way to show him without fully revealing it —which was your other hand pressed firmly on the screen to hide the six other letters of the name you saved him as.
“H-e… a?” he reads the three letters out loud. “Huh...”
Then the car ran into a bump, catching you off guard and causing your phone to drop on his lap.
“Shit.” you mutter to yourself, snatching your phone away from him.
“Cute.” to this very moment of you laying on your bed and going back through everything that happened on this day, you still couldn’t figure out what he was calling cute. Was it you? —no you’re not delusional. Or perhaps, maybe it was the fact that when you grabbed for your phone, he got to see the full nickname because you held it out with the screen right at his face for a little longer than just a few seconds. But you wouldn’t know, not until the next day that is.

Cole Caufield x Reader
✄————————————
The chill of cold bedsheets woke me up. Likewise the smell of fresh coffee. When my eyes fluttered open, I knew something was off. That something, being the lack of my boyfriend’s presence. I laid awake listening to his thudding footsteps down the hall, and the undeniable sound of his humming. It brought a smile to my lips. A quiet rumble of thunder blocked out the noise from my boyfriend, and I realized quickly why he was up so early. Cole was too light of a sleeper to be able to get through storms.
I climbed out of bed and checked the time on my phone. I had missed messages from friends, asking for a day in hanging out and catching up. I would have said yes if not for my knowledge that days in with Cole were far more fun.
I tossed my phone onto our bed and slipped out of the bedroom, careful to be quiet so I wouldn’t startle him. It took me a moment to actually find Cole, but when I stepped into the living room, I was greeted by the most wonderful sight.
I grew up in a shoreside town, surrounded by the most beautiful views. When I decided to take Cole home with me, we agreed on renting out a small house close to the ocean. Nothing too expensive, or even extravagant, but something that offered us privacy and a fun experience. Our first home together, technically.
Cole took advantage of all the windows, keeping the blinds open at all hours of the day until it got completely dark out.
I assumed it was the first thing he did when he woke up that morning, seeing as he was laid out on the floor, hands held to his stomach and eyes closed, basking in the sunlight that just barely peeked out from behind the hazy clouds.
I folded my arms across my chest, Cole’s old muscle tank top barely covering much of what it was supposed to, but it was only us. I didn’t want to speak, afraid of ruining his relaxation, but he broke the silence anyway.
“Come lay with me.” Id admit, it startled me.
“How’d you know I was here?”
“I’m in my feng shui era.” I didn’t have a clue what he was talking about, but I walked over and sat on the floor next to him nonetheless. Cole opened his eyes and looked up at me with a lazy smile. “I opened the windows.”
“To smell the rain?”
“Yeah.” He rested a hand on my knee.
“We should move south when I retire.”
“You like this?” I taunted playfully.
“I love it.” He patted my knee. “Lay with me.” I wasn’t the biggest fan of laying on the floor, but I did for Cole, resting on my back next to him.
“You gonna tell me what feng shui is?” I had to ask, seeing as he wasn’t going to volunteer the information.
“Something about balance and inner peace.”
“Right.. cause the Cole last night who wined and complained we didn’t have ice cream, was definitely feeling that inner peace.”
“I don’t remember that.” I turned my head to glare at him.
“I do. Because you were a hassle to deal with.”
He laughed, his pretty teeth on display as his eyes closed in delight.
“We should stock up on ice cream then.”
“Or get you some behavioral management classes.” I countered, reaching out to grab ahold of one of his hands. Cole intertwined our fingers and allowed me to rest our hands on the carpet between us. A rumble of thunder ceased our conversation, and Cole inched himself closer to me, to the point that I ended up moving our hands to rest against my stomach, so he could press his shoulder into my own.
“Storm wake you up?”
“I was up all night.” My brow furrowed at his response, and I turned my head once again to look at him. “It rained and thundered all night, and the lightning was real bad too.”
“Why didn’t you wake me?”
“Cause you sleep better than I do. I didn’t want to bother you.”
“Cole,” I pressed a kiss to his shoulder. “I would have laid up with you all night. We didn’t have plans today.”
“It’s fine.. I’ll just take a nap later.”
I sighed and turned my head to look back up at the ceiling. Cole squeezed my hand in reassurance.
“We could take a bath.” I suggested slyly.
“Really?” Cole may have had the occasional issue with his height, but I would admit, one thing we never had to worry about was how he was fitting in the bathtub when we wanted to relax together.
“Or we could get the heated blanket out and read.”
“Oh I’m not in a reading mood.” I chuckled at his response. “But I like the heated blanket.”
“Here’s an idea,” I drew in a breath. “We can do the bath, then get dressed, and I’ll plug the heated blanket in for you to nap under.”
“You’re napping with me, girl.” Cole turned his head to look at me, nudging my leg with his own.
“Yeah. I’ll nap with you.”
“I’m not sharing my blanket though.”
“What the fuck Cole?” I feigned offense, laughter bubbling from our lips. “I bought that blanket for you, and you won’t even share it?”
“I’ll think about it.”
“You better think long and hard, Buddy. And then you better make the right decision. You’ll lose your cuddle Buddy if you make the wrong one.” I warned as I slowly turned onto my side, propping my head up on my hand and releasing Cole’s hand to fix the shirt that did nothing to cover my body at this point.
“You’re not wearing anything under that?”
“This was what I threw on after last night. Sue me for assuming I didn’t need to be decent for my horny boyfriend.”
“You’re so mean today.” Cole laughed, turning away from me. I gasped at his antics.
“Absolutely not, Coley.” I reached for the back of his shirt and tugged on it. “Hey!” I tried to quiet my laughter as I scooted closer to him and snaked my arm around his midriff.
“I don’t wanna talk if you’re gonna be mean.”
“Then forget the nap and the bath.” I threatened as I pulled away. “I’ll go chill in the guest room.”
“You will not!” He spoke, in clear disbelief of my words.
“Will too!” I argued as I stood up. I looked down at Cole in time to see him turn to me and reach for my ankle. I leapt out of his reach, and before I knew it, Cole was off the floor and chasing me down the hall.

It was late when they arrived back at the twins’ cottage. The farmer hadn’t been in any particular hurry to reach Bricksburg, not wanting to wear out his horse. They had been let off near the city gates, and made their way toward the outskirts where the twins’ home was. Benny barely managed to eat some supper before passing out again; the night in the hayloft had taken more of a toll than he had expected, and he hadn’t been able to nap in the farmer’s wagon either. It had just been too crowded with crates of produce and other wares to really get comfortable.
It was somewhat early in the morning when Benny woke again to find himself in a proper bed. There was an unusual warmth pressed to his back, and he sat up to find Callaghan sound asleep on the other side of the bed, their back to him. Right, Benny remembered. They only have the one bedroom. Thank goodness the bed itself was big enough for the two of them to sleep comfortably rather than being sprawled all over each other. He stretched and carefully slid out of the bed so he didn’t wake them, and went in search of breakfast. There was nothing readily available (not that that surprised him), but there were some eggs, and their small vegetable and herb garden in the back yard. Fried eggs it was, then.
He peeked back into the bedroom. He had no idea when they went to bed, so there was no telling when they would wake up, but they looked comfortable and unconscious enough that he figured he had some time yet. He got himself cleaned up, straightened out his clothes the best he could, and went to the nearby farm market to get some sausages and fresh bread to go with their meal.
He had just gotten the sausages and some eggs in a pan to fry up when he heard movement in the bedroom. He watched as Alastar shuffled out of the bedroom and straight into the kitchen to get started on coffee. Alastar froze and stared when he found the kitchen fire already in use, trying to process this unexpected turn of events.
Benny grinned. “Good morning to you too.”
Alastar blinked at him in surprise. He obviously wasn’t a morning person, if it was taking him a while to wake up. “Oh, yes, good morning,” he said, giving Benny a sleepy smile. It made Benny’s stomach do backflips. “How long have you been up?”
“Maybe an hour. Long enough to clean up and go get us some breakfast. I got some fresh sourdough and butter too, if you wouldn’t mind cutting us a couple slices.”
“Coffee first,” Alastar replied. “I don’t think either of us wants to deal with a cranky Cary.” Benny laughed, though secretly he wondered if Cary was ever not grumpy. ‘Surly’ seemed to be his permanent state of being. He watched as Alastar prepared the kettle then hung it up over the fire to heat the water while he sliced the bread.
“I’m kind of surprised you have coffee instead of tea. It’s kind of expensive, isn’t it?”
“It is,” Alastar admitted, “but there’s so little that Cary lets himself indulge in, so we make an exception. Will you be needing to return home to pick up anything?”
“Oh, uh... No,” Benny said. Alastar lifted an eyebrow at the mage’s uncertain response. “Nothing I have at home will be of any use to us for this trip. We’d be better off just heading straight to the market district to get whatever supplies I still need,” Benny clarified.
Alastar frowned. “Not even to get some more money?”
Benny grinned back at him and jingled his small coin purse. “It’s enchanted to pull whatever I need from my safe. A rare moment of forethought of my own.”
Alastar’s eyes widened. “Ohh.” He should have guessed, really. “Did it take a lot to enchant it?”
“Nah, that spell’s not nearly as advanced or draining as the carriage and horses, or the teleportation. Easy enough to cast when needed. It’s pretty handy too, so I’m not carrying a lot of heavy coins on long trips.”
“I’ll say,” Alastar agreed, eyeing the coin pouch. He kind of liked the sound of that. “Do you think you could do that for ours too? Not that we have a whole lot anyway, but it would be nice to reduce at least some of the weight we’ll have to haul around for however long it takes to find our wizard.”
Benny laughed. “I’d be delighted. Breakfast first though.” He pulled the pan away from the fire and scraped the cooked eggs and sausages onto a pair of plates. Alastar offered him some coffee once it was finished, and they sat together at the small kitchen table to eat their breakfast in silence. Benny only made one feeble attempt at conversation, giving up with some amusement when Alastar only managed to grunt in response, clearly preoccupied with his breakfast. They really weren’t morning people.
Once breakfast had been eaten and cleared away, Benny helped the twins to locate their camping gear and go through it, making sure nothing was missing or damaged. It all ended up covering the entire table plus most of the floor. “Everything looks like it’s still in working order,” Cary said after finishing their inspection, and carefully arranged it all back inside the backpack. “I’m still surprised you weren’t allowed to keep any of your equipment.”
Benny shrugged. “Guess they figured us noble types will have less use for it than the next soldier. It’s not that big of a deal, really—had things been able to just go back to normal, I wouldn’t have used any of it ever again anyway. Now come on, I’ve got stuff I need to get still.” He waited as they finished strapping the heavy camping pack onto their back, and then they left the little cottage. Alastar hesitated for a moment before locking the door, sighing softly.
“Is something the matter?”
“Just realizing we have no idea how long we’ll be gone,” Alastar murmured. “Hope the place will still be here when we come back.”
Benny tilted his head up at them, then turned to the cottage. Some instinct was telling him they were probably right to worry; it took rather a long time the last time you were on an adventure like this, didn’t it? He reached up and touched the door, closing his eyes and murmuring quietly. Alastar watched with curiosity.
“What was that?” he asked when Benny dropped his arm and opened his eyes again. The mage grinned up at him.
“Just a little warding spell. Someone would have to be pretty damned determined to get in while you’re gone.”
“Oh.” He could only stare at Benny for a moment, stunned. “Thank you.”
Benny smiled brightly back at him. “You’re welcome. Now come on, we’ve got a wayward wizard to find!”
It took them just over an hour to find everything Benny would need (including the ingredients for his new favorite tea, much to the twins’ amusement), and then they set out of Bricksburg on foot. Benny wanted to conserve his magicka, and real horses were too expensive and too much of a hassle for Cary to want to bother with.
The plan was to walk all day, then stop around supper time in the evening. If there happened to be an inn nearby, they would stay there, but if not, they would set up camp. Cary would take his bow and leave to hunt and forage while Benny got a fire going, set up wards, and searched for nearby water sources. After supper, Benny would begin their magic lessons, starting with magicka management.
“You said you and Alastar got as far as figuring out you have differing types of magic,” Benny said. “Do you know what types?”
Cary shook his head. “The tutor we spoke to never took any more time beyond that to try to figure it out.”
“I’m willing to bet Alastar’s has something to do with his voice,” Benny mused, thinking back to how easily Alastar had talked their way past the weapons check, how Benny had felt the magic being subtly woven into his words. “He does already have some control over it, even if it’s not entirely conscious. Do you know if you have any non-human ancestry?”
“Not as far as we know.” Benny huffed in irritation. Cary rolled his eyes. “I wish we did have answers for you. Hardly our fault our ancestors didn’t bother to keep any family records.”
“I’m not blaming you,” Benny grumbled as he massaged his temples. “Just annoyed at the circumstances.”
“Is there any way to find out?”
“Vitruvius could probably do it, once we find him,” Benny said. “He would have to ‘read’ you, and that’s something that takes a lot of concentration and experience to know how to do it right. I know how to use my magic, I should be able to teach you how to use yours, but I’m no instructor. I don’t have that training.”
“‘Should’?” Cary echoed, frowning at him.
Benny nodded. “I can at least get you started with the basics. Spellcasting is pretty much the same across the board, however you came into possession of your magic. And it’s the same with magicka management. I’ll do my best to explain things in a way you can understand, but again, I’m no instructor, so bear with me.” Cary nodded, listening intently as Benny began their lessons.
“Before I can even teach you how to cast spells, you need to find your center,” the mage began.
“Our center?”
Benny nodded. “The source of your magicka, the ‘energy’ you pull from to cast. Now, as I am pretty sure Alastar’s magic has something to do with his voice, he’s already got a lead to find his center. As for you, though…” Benny gave Cary an apologetic smile. “I really don’t know where to point you to look for it, so you’re on your own.”
Cary pinched the bridge of his nose, just barely holding back a sigh. “All right. So how do we find our centers?”
“Meditation. Focus your attention inward. Look for a power source. Trust me, you’ll know it when you find it.”
Cary grumbled, but nodded, and settled into a position both he and Alastar felt comfortable in. I might have an idea of where you should start looking, Alastar piped up. Cary responded with wordless interest. Southlake Point.
Cary scowled. What about it.
You’re pretty damned loud when you want to be, but the volumes you reached that day… I’m not sure that’s even humanly possible without magical assistance. And it was because you were doing everything you could to try to save them from that monster.
Cary mulled it over. It made sense. He had thought it was merely desperation, but maybe… He finally closed his eyes, thinking back to that battle, recalling the feeling of horror and despair when he finally realized what was going on, and carefully sifted through the memories. There had been… something… that had flooded every inch of his being, when he started shouting out orders to his men. And it wasn’t desperation, or adrenaline.
He swallowed hard. Now, so far past the heat of the moment, he knew without a doubt that something more than his body’s fight or flight response had been at work. It had sparked through his veins, lending the power to project his voice over the cacophony of the battle. He followed the memory, digging for that sensation again.
“Whoa!” Benny gasped in surprise, breaking their concentration, then began to laugh in delight. “Looks like you found your centers—you’re glowing.”
Cary opened his eyes just in time to see a faint golden light fade away. “I suppose we did,” he murmured as Alastar confirmed his own success. He frowned. “I feel like I just ran a marathon, though.”
Benny snickered. “I told you so. I’ll give you a break for tonight, but tomorrow, your training begins for real.”
It took a lot of trial and error, but by the time they arrived in Studsboro a few days later, they were starting to get the hang of the simple spells and energy management techniques Benny was teaching them.
They sought out the twins’ parents immediately upon arrival. Ma and Pa were thrilled that their boys had come to visit, and insisted that they and their new friend stay with them. “Are you sure it won’t be any trouble?” Benny asked.
“None at all,” Ma assured. “Oh it’s so good to know our boys have a friend, you have no idea how much we worry about them, living so far away and all alone in that big city.”
Benny managed a smile. “We actually met in the recovery ward. I got assigned to share their room because the hospital was running out of beds. They told me a little about what it was like to grow up as Janus twins.”
“Yes,” Ma murmured. “It was very hard for them. You don’t know how much it means to Pa and me that you were willing to give them a chance.” Benny smiled as he was pulled into a hug, and returned the embrace.
“I mean they aren’t the first set of Janus twins I’ve ever met so it wasn’t really very strange to me, I was a bit more concerned about the nurse’s ‘play nice’ comment and Cary was really grumpy at first, but I don’t blame him, everyone else was being kind of rude to them—”
“‘Rude’ is an understatement,” Cary cut him off with a grumble. Benny snickered.
“So what brings you boys to Studsboro?” Ma asked. She knew her boys well—they wouldn’t have brought a friend all that way just to meet their parents.
“We’re trying to find the wizard Vitruvius,” Benny said. “As far as anyone knows, this was the last place he was seen, so we thought we’d start here.”
“Oh!” Keelan gasped in excitement. “I—I talked to him!” He paused. “He’s missing?”
“No one’s heard anything from him for a few months,” Cary confirmed. “Did he happen to tell you where he was going from here?”
“North,” Keelan answered without hesitation. “To, uh. Ashton, I think. He didn’t say why though.”
Cary nodded. “Then we’ll head that way next.” He pulled their younger brother close and kissed his head. “Thanks, Kee’.”
“Aww,” Benny cooed. Cary rolled his eyes, and Keelan snickered, wrapping his arms around his brothers.
Ma smiled at them. “I was just about to get supper started. Would you boys mind lending me a hand?”
“Of course Mum,” Cary agreed, and followed her into the kitchen.
Benny and Keelan stared at each other for a minute. “So I didn’t think Cary had a soft side like that,” Benny commented after a moment. Keelan grinned.
“Just for me. I was, uh. Kind of a sickly little kid. They both looked after me a lot.”
Benny smiled. “That’s sweet.”
“Come on, I’ll show you where the guest room is.”

To Hold the Sea | Ch. 15
main masterlist
series masterpost | previous chapter | next chapter
synopsis: a good lazy day.
warnings: one suggestive joke
A soothing warmth embraces you, rousing you softly from sleep. As your eyes open, you’re met with a mass of wavy brown hair strewn across your chest. When you stretch your arms above your head, Dazai lifts his face to meet you. His eyes are barely open in his haze, but he nods at you; he doesn’t say good morning, but it’s close enough to a greeting. You bring a hand to comb through his hair gently. You’re well-rested, finally. You’re calm, finally.
You don’t say anything, just continue working your hands through his hair. You stare blankly at the ceiling, thinking to yourself. Whenever you woke up together, he always felt so distant; it was just something about him. But now, it seems, there’s nothing between you; no invisible barrier; no strange feeling of disappointment. Carefully, Dazai inches closer to your face. Your hands shift down slowly, tracing shapes on his shoulder blades. You smile at him,
“Good morning.”
“I’m cold…” he says groggily, burying his face into the crook of your neck.
You take the blanket covering you and pull it up over his shoulders.
“Better?”
“Perfect.”
You can hear rain outside, but the sun still peeks through the clouds and into your window.
“Beautiful morning, isn’t it?” you say softly. He just nuzzles further into your neck.
“You’re beautiful,” he whispers; you chuckle and place a hand on the back of his head. You stay that way for a while. At some point, you try to get up, but he doesn’t budge. You sigh, but, nonetheless, you let him keep you. He smooths a hand up and down your side and places a soft kiss on your jaw,
“What do you think you’re doing?” you feel his smile, his lips pressed to your neck,
“Hopefully you.” he tries his best not to laugh.
“Ha ha, very funny.” you roll your eyes, “I’m hungry,” you say, trying to sit up. He doesn’t move at all, leaving you to struggle by yourself,
“Don’t go,” he whines.
“But I’m hungry..!”
“Five more minutes…”
“Ugh.”
You pout, but you know it really doesn’t bother you at all. He curls up closer to you again,
“I’m happy in moments like this; let me have this,” he says softly; it gives you pause.
“Happy…” you whisper to yourself.
“This is as close to perfection as I’ll ever get, as impossible as it is.” His words make you hug him a little tighter.
“I think you're right.” You smile. Your stomach growls.
“Breakfast is on me today.” He mumbles as if he regrets suggesting it.
“I’ll hold you to it.”
When you finally find the strength to get out of bed (push Dazai off of you) you get ready and sit in your living room while you wait for him. He walks out in his usual clothes, rubbing sleep from his eyes. The two of you walk to the train station holding hands in silence.
“It’s cold,” he mumbles to himself as he squeezes your hand a bit tighter.
“It’s a little chilly,” you say as he moves in closer to your side.
You don’t really think about where you’re going, your feet just happen to take you to the same place you always used to go. He lets go of your hand only to open the door for you,
“After you,” he bows and smiles. You roll your eyes and chuckle.
“Remember, breakfast is on you.”
“How could I forget?”
When you sit down he lays back in his chair, relaxed, waiting for you to say something. Instead, you enjoy the silence between you, sipping your drink idly, and staring at him. He hunches over his coffee, holding the mug to warm his hands.
“What else should we do today?” you ask.
“Stay home.”
“You don’t want to do anything else?”
“Nope. I’d like to take a nap today.” you stifle a laugh,
“We woke up, like, half an hour ago.”
“I’m just taking a page from Kunikida’s book; I’m planning ahead.”
“Maybe after your nap-”
“I was thinking it could be our nap.”
“Hm,” You stir your drink, “I’m okay with that.”
“Yes, so, anyways, after our nap…” he prompts you,
“We could watch something.” you shrug, “It’ll be a good lazy day.”
A good lazy day it is; breakfast is great and he pays without complaint, you walk home hand in hand, and sit at the kitchen island for a while. He reads while you scroll on your laptop. The lack of words between you makes the time that much more valuable; comfortable silence. When you move to the couch, he moves with you, not a word exchanged. He continues to read even when you turn on the TV and lay across his lap. Eventually, he puts the book down and drifts off, shifting onto his side to lay behind you, an arm draped over your waist.
“Our nap.” You say to yourself. You pull his hand to your chest, hugging it tightly, knowing many things could change in the next few weeks. You were no stranger to change, but it would never stop gnawing at you as it approached. And when it passes you by, it often comes back to nip at your ankles. Never stopping you, just biting enough to startle you. Even in your unhappiness, it’s sometimes hard to accept any change. Sometimes, the comfort in knowing that everything is the same is both your worst enemy and your greatest ally. As if he could feel your brain pacing in your skull, Dazai places a quick kiss on your head. Everything will be okay. He pulls you impossibly closer,
“Relax,” he whispers.
You squeeze his hand tight,” Okay.”

I don’t know why I’m doing, but it feels like it needs mentioning. To anyone wondering about the potentially slightly off reblogs I’ve made over the past three hours—I’m fine and I’m sorry if I worried you. I’m just partially braindead(Not literally, that’s just what I call it when I’m super tired and cannot think properly), is all.
Okay, unnecessary context time. I took a nap at like 7pm yesterday because I was tired and I was expecting to wake up around 9-ish so I could take my meds(That I need to sleep, among other things) and go to bed properly. I instead woke up at 1:30am confined to my bed because I had a nightmare that a Huntsman Spider had attacked and bitten me and my little brother.
I know, a grown woman having a nightmare? Blasphemy, am I right?
Anyways, I refused to go back to sleep so I confided in my friend’s Tumblr, then Tumblr itself. It took me an hour before a thought had crossed my mind and forced me out of bed by sheer curiosity. I had forgotten to take my meds. Yes, I only remembered at that moment. Yes, I have since taken them.
It’s been 2 hours since then and I don’t think Tumblr is helping me to fall asleep at all. I feel a lot better now because I’ve got my cat laying here with me, so I think I’m going to call it and try to go to sleep by wholesomely daydreaming about my beans. It genuinely works sometimes.
I’m probably not gonna remember posting this in the morning. I wonder what my future self will think of this…
#Goodnight everyone!#Sweet dreams!#Certified insomniac moment#Also certified arachnophobe moment#And if any of you who see this send me a picture of a spider#You will be smited#Love y’all#But don’t try me#I doubt anyone will see this anyways#But you’ve been warned

Hatoful Boyfriend Secret Santa 2023: Aftermath (fic)
@codenamethebird Hello! I was your secret santa this year! I hope you like it, I was inspired by your request for Nageki and Hiyoko- it made me think of this scene I always wanted to write. Enjoy! When Hiyoko woke up there were stars in her eyes.
This water colored world swam around her as she sat up, fields of grass waving like they were underwater. Everything felt cool and misty, like a field in the early morning. At first she thought she was alone. The world was so quiet, there couldn’t possibly be another living being here. But then her finely tuned hunter-gatherer instincts kicked into gear, and she felt a presence behind her, watching her. She turned quickly to face her opponent, only to find Nageki staring back at her, watching. She brightened immediately.
“Nageki! You’re here too!”
“Hello, Miss Toska.” He regarded her coolly, but she could tell he was happy to see her. “You’re awake.”
“And you’re out of the library!” She swept up to him excitedly, examining him all around. She knew that he didn’t like unexpected touches, so she kept her hands to herself. “How did you do that?!”
Nageki looked at her strangely, though that was how he normally looked at her, so she didn’t pay it too much mind. “Will you walk with me, Miss Toska?” he asked instead of answering.
“You’re becoming as sneaky as the doctor, you know~” she said, teasing him. Nageki made a bit of a face at that, and she laughed as they began walking. “Do you know where we are? When I woke up I was in that field, and I don’t remember going there.”
“Maybe you ran there,” he said evenly, and Hiyoko nodded. That seemed reasonable.
“Were you out for a run, too?” she asked. She had never seen him outside of school before. It made this strange world feel somewhat more exciting, having him with her, like being on an adventure. Impulsively, she grabbed his hand. Nageki flushed.
“No. I was just waiting for you to wake up.”
“Was I asleep for long?” She swung their arms as they walked. The cool grass brushed against her legs, heavy with dew. It almost felt more like swimming than walking.
“Not long,” Nageki replied. “Not very long compared to me, anyway.”
“So you were sleeping too?! I wish I knew!” She nudged him. “It would be fun to nap together, wouldn’t it be?”
“Yes…” Nageki squeezed her hand slightly, not seeming to notice he was doing it. “...Well, we have all the time to do that, now.”
“Really?” Hiyoko squeezed back. Something about that idea made her feel very peaceful. “But what about school? Are we going to sleep through that?”
“Yes.”
“Really?” Hiyoko slowed down. They were coming up to a bank of trees, but before that, the grass had been cleared away, and there were train tracks, running off in either direction. “Is something wrong, Nageki?” she asked quietly. “You’re acting strange. I mean, I can’t imagine you skipping school! Although, I guess you are always in the library… are you actually a truant???”
“Not quite. Miss Toska… Hiyoko.” She blinked at the name change. His voice had become more sincere as well, and even quieter. “What do you remember?”
“Before waking up here?” Nageki nodded. “Um… let’s see…” She thought about it for a moment. “I guess the last thing I remember is… going to check on Ryouta in the doctor’s office. Yes, I remember! He wasn’t feeling well this morning, so I went to get him before going home. I wonder, did I fall asleep in the office? Or after I went home?”
“...would you believe neither?” Nageki was looking away from her when he asked that, down the tracks, as though looking for oncoming trains. But there wasn’t any. It felt like nothing could disturb the stillness that surrounded them.
“...I might,” Hiyoko finally said. “Something strange is going on, isn’t it? Stranger than normal, I mean.”
Nageki nodded slowly. “You didn’t fall asleep in the doctor’s office. Or at home.”
“I didn’t fall asleep at all, did I?”
He shook his head.
“Then where are we?”
He paused. “I’m… not entirely sure. I’ve never been here before. But I believe it’s where we go… after.”
“After what?” Nageki didn’t seem to want to answer. That was alright, though. Hiyoko thought that she might have an idea.
“I guess that mean old doctor finally got me, huh?”
Nageki turned to look at her in surprise, but Hiyoko was just smiling gently. “It’s alright! I figured it would happen sooner or later.”
“You are much too calm about your impending death, Miss… Hiyoko.”
“Well it isn’t impending now!” She grinned brightly once more. “Besides, that’s just one of the dangers a hunter gatherer needs to consider!”
Nageki sighed at her boisterousness, and she grew softer. “But that makes me wonder… Did the same happen to you?”
“In a way… But there will be time for all of that later.” In the distance, the low sound of a train whistle was heard.
“Are we going on a trip?” Hiyoko guessed, and Nageki nodded. “That sounds fun… but what about everyone else? What about Ryouta? I’ll miss them…”
“They’ll miss you too… but they’re alright. Ryouta was sleeping here with you for a while, before he went back.”
“He was! Wait… that probably isn’t good…”
“No. He was badly injured… but he’s alright now. Sakuya helped save him.”
“Sakuya?! Did he finally stop being a tsundere?! Nageki, you have to tell me everything!”
The train sounded again, much closer now. Nageki smiled, and brushed her hand with his. “I will, I promise. We have all the time now… if you want.”
Hiyoko smiled, and grabbed his hand as he moved it away, holding it in hers. “I would love that.”
The train pulled up. The two of them didn’t hesitate. They had a whole world to explore together.

masterlist
I haven’t stopped being nauseous since I woke up. Is this really all because I had an anxiety attack from that one asshole? I already googled it, maybe it’s the fact that I drank a ton of water right when I woke up. I don’t know. I could barely touch the alfredo noodles we had last night, but I thought that was just me being anxious. Jean looked a little concerned at dinner, but I told him I was fine when he kissed me goodbye this morning. Just tired.
Really, I’m exhausted. I feel my stomach lurch, and I realize, I’m going to throw up. I run to the bathroom as fast as possible, nearly missing the toilet, and the last bits of undigested dinner from last night come up, along with bile and all the water from earlier. When I stop retching, I flush the toilet, and stand up dizzily. I brush my teeth to get rid of the remaining vomit, gargle a million times, and wipe my face, which has tears streaming down from the pain. Without fail, my body always feels like it’s been shoved into a trash compactor when I throw up.
When I’m finished cleaning myself up, I decide to go back to bed. The thought of trying to keep food down right now is an awful one. I text Jean to tell him I think I got a stomach bug, and he immediately texts me back asking why. I smile to myself, rolling my eyes a bit. He’s such a worry wart. Just puked, but I feel a lot better. Must’ve been why I was tired, I reply.
Do you need anything? He asks me, and I can imagine his furrowed eyebrows right in front of me.
You’re so sweet, baby. No, I just need sleep.
Have you eaten today?
No. If I eat right now I probably won’t keep it down. I never can after throwing up. I’ll eat when I wake back up. Love you xo
Ok, love you too babygirl xo
I smile to myself, then set my phone down on the nightstand. It doesn’t take long for me to drift off into a peaceful slumber.
I’m woken by my phone vibrating on the nightstand. “Hello?” I answer groggily, and am spooked by Connie’s annoyingly loud voice.
“Y/n! Someone’s pregnant!” He yells into my ear. I hold my phone far away from me, pinching the bridge of my nose. Somehow, he’s already given me a headache. “Who?”
“I don’t know, but Sasha said her mom had a dream about fish! And you know what that means!” He says. I do not know what that means.
I yawn, asking, “Does it mean she misses her son-in-law’s cooking? Niccolo should visit her again soon.”
Connie pauses. “Hey, were you asleep before I called you?”
“Yes. Very peacefully, I might add. I have the flu.”
“W-why didn’t you tell me?!” He yells at me, and I wince.
“Connie, shut the fuck up! I have a migraine because of you! And because, I thought it would be obvious!” I say.
“Huh?” Connie asks in exasperation. “It’s three in the afternoon! How am I supposed to know you took a midday nap?”
“I never took a nap…” I trail off when I realize that means I’ve slept for basically 14 hours straight, excluding my short time being awake this morning. “Damn. I didn’t think I was this sick.”
“I’m sorry for waking you up, y/n.” Connie apologizes, panic gone from his voice.
I wave him off, not realizing he can’t see me for a few seconds. “No, no, it’s fine. I needed to get up anyways, I have commissions I need to work on, sick or not. Anyways, what’s your point? About the fish and somebody being pregnant.”
“Oh! Right!” He exclaims. “So, dreams have meaning. There’s symbolism in them that rings true.”
“Why are you using the word symbolism? That has no business being in your vocabulary, it’s out of your intelligence bracket.” I say, snickering to myself when he pauses to process what I’ve said.
“Hey! I know things, okay?!” Connie defends himself after realizing I called him stupid. “Anyways, when someone dreams about a fish, it means someone they know is pregnant. And there’s always someone who’s pregnant.
“Mhm.” I say. “Well, if you figure out who that pregnant person is, tell me so I can congratulate them on making a terrible financial decision for the next eighteen plus years. I’m tired, so I’m gonna go back to bed.”
Connie says, “But didn’t you just talk about how much work you were gonna do?”
“Times change, Connie,” I respond, “That, and I just got even more tired than I was when I first answered the phone. I think you’re just exhausting me with your idiocy.”
Connie gasps, and I swear I can hear him clutching his imaginary pearls. “Hurtful!”
I sigh. “Goodbye, Connie.”
He groans, like I’ve just ruined his plans to gossip about pregnancy candidates. “Bye, y/n.” The phone hangs up with a beep, and I lay in bed, staring up at the ceiling as I think to myself. There aren’t many options, in all honesty. Ymir and Historia could have decided they wanted to start a family, Eren and Mikasa, Annie and Bertholdt, even Sasha and Niccolo. I’m sick as a dog, so I’m already counted out — can’t have a baby when you’re busy having stomach flu. Before I know it, I’m lulled back to sleep by the comfort of the plush mattress and cushy blankets.
When I come to, it’s sunset, and the offending noise that wakes me is Jean’s keys jangling in the doorknob. I would get up to unlock the door for him, but I’m too groggy to move more than a finger. The door squeaks open, and I hear him put his keys down on the counter, stepping out of his shoes. “Y/n?” He calls, concern laced in his voice.
“Over here!” I respond in turn, yawning and stretching a bit. Jean’s footsteps make the apartment vibrate. He’s not heavy, but the infrastructure isn’t immune to jiggle physics. He turns the concern and I can see the wrinkles forming in real time, all because of me. Then, I can see flowers and a card. “Baby!” I exclaim in surprise, “Is that for me?”
He smiles, and he’s no longer aged by seven years. “I couldn’t come home to my girl empty-handed now, could I? How are you feeling?” He sets the flowers down on the bed, along with the card, and gathers me into a gentle hug, kissing me on the cheek.
“Babe,” I argue, “Don’t, you’ll get sick.”
“And get to take time off to spend with the most beautiful person in the world? Sounds great to me.” He grins when I roll my eyes, then asks, “Did you stay in bed all day?”
I nod. “Yea, I felt pretty shitty. No throwing up aside from the one time, though. Oh! And guess what? According to Sasha’s mom, somebody’s pregnant. The fish in her dreams told her so.”
He meets my eyes with a knowing look, his smile ever-present. “I am taking this so seriously right now, I swear. And who did we hear this fish dream news from?”
“Connie, who dared to wake me from my slumber.” I sigh, sitting up in the bed so I can be on eye-level with Jean.
Jean says, “I see, I see. Sounds like indisputable fact, if you ask me.”
“No, babe. We’re asking the dream fish.”
He laughs, and I laugh with him. “Okay, enough bullying people for being superstitious. You need some water, and soft foods. You probably haven’t eaten all day, have you?” I shake my head no. Jean says, “Well, I’m not Chef Niccolo, but I can make something pretty saucy. I’ll see what I can manage.”
“Do we have…” I start, but trail off, realizing it was a stupid question. Of course we wouldn’t have Kraft mac and cheese. “Nevermind.” I say with a smile at Jean as he looks at me inquisitively.
Fifteen minutes later, he brings me a bowl of noodles with shredded chicken in it. “Is this alright?” He asks me, and I can see he genuinely is worried I won’t like it.
I smile gratefully at him. “Of course, thank you baby. You don’t have to worry about me, the nausea seems to be the worst of it.” I feel a twinge in my stomach looking at the food, but I know it’s just me being finicky because I’m sick. I have to eat something if I want to get better.
He pats my back. “All right, I’m gonna hop in the shower. The door’s unlocked if you need anything, as per usual.” He kisses my forehead, then leaves me to handle business.
When he’s out of sight, I stare at my food like it’s insulting me. My stomach feels like it’s doing flips, and I would rather go back to sleep, but I know if I don’t eat anything, Jean will freak. His mom used to get sick all the time — bad immune system — so now, after everything I’ve been through, he watches over me like a mother hen.
And what is it that I’ve been through? Well… a miscarriage. And an eating disorder. It was for the better that the miscarriage happened, because neither of us were ready for a kid, but it was grueling. I only found out I was pregnant because of the miscarriage, and it left me even more physically and emotionally drained than I already had been for the month before. It explained the nausea, and the inability to eat most foods, but after the miscarriage, I continued being unable to eat. I lost a lot of weight, and when I finally went to the doctor’s office, they recommended I start eating protein bars to regain what I’d lost. I did, and I haven’t lost the weight again since then, but Jean fusses over me, because he knows my eating disorder is a daily battle, not one that just goes away. I tell him not to worry, that as long as I’m keeping my current weight then we have nothing to worry about, but it’s like talking to a brick wall. Or, for accuracy’s sake, it’s like talking to a magical brick wall that finds the most anxiety-inducing message in all of your words and echoes that back to you.
The miscarriage and the events after it happened years ago, but I remember it like yesterday, and so does Jean. Every now and then, we whisper to each other at night, talking about what might have happened if I hadn’t miscarried.
I don’t know why I’m thinking about all of this right now. Maybe it’s because the nausea I’m feeling now reminds me of back then. I shake my head, clearing my thoughts, then mentally prepare myself to take a bite of food. I stab the fork into my noodles and twist, twist, twist, until I have a reasonable lump of noodles around my fork, ready to be eaten. I lift it up into my mouth, and when I smell the noodles… it’s over.
I throw my fork down, quickly setting my bowl down on the nightstand and run to the bathroom faster than the speed of light. I nearly slam the door open, and start puking as soon as the toilet seat and lid are propped up. I hear Jean pull back the shower curtain as I heave, splatters of liquid and mush landing in the toilet. The room is already steamed up – he loves hot showers. We both do, to be fair. “Babe? Are you okay?” He asks me, and it takes literally everything in me to not snap at him and say that I’m obviously not okay.
I give him a thumbs up. “I don’t know why, but just smelling the food made me nauseous. What was the expiration date on the canned chicken?”
As water trickles down his bare chest, sculpted abs dividing my attention, Jean says, “I just bought that on Saturday. No way it’s expired. If you can’t eat, why don’t you try taking a shower? You’ve been in sick clothes all day.” I put the lid down and flush the toilet, slowly nodding as I stand up. I strip down, joining him in the spray as he holds his hand out for me to take. Always the gentleman. I’m sandwiched between him and the warm water, and I sigh, feeling some relief for once. He slides his hands around my waist, kissing my cheek and leaning his head against mine, sighing with me. “I’m sorry you’re so sick, baby.”
I turn around to face him, the water hitting my backside as I wrap my arms around his neck, looking up at him. “It’s okay. It’s not your fault.” I get up on my tip-toes to kiss him, and where nausea once was in my stomach, a fire suddenly rages – a fire of want, of desperate need. I close my eyes, deepening the kiss and pressing my body against his. “Baby.” I pant out, reaching down for his member as I feel the slick growing between my thighs.
He grunts, stopping the kiss and holding my arms, stepping away. “Not right now, y/n. You’re sick. It would just make you worse. Let’s wait until you’re feeling better, yea?” I hadn’t actually touched him yet, but I can already see that he’s clearly aroused.
I frown to myself. I’m disappointed, but he’s right. “Yea, right. Sorry.” I don’t know what came over me in that moment, but right now, I feel riled up for no apparent reason. What is happening to me?
We finish our shower, and he grabs out the silkiest pair of pajamas for me, helping me dry off and put them on before helping me into bed, and I note he removed the offending food from the area. I don’t know how I managed to meet someone as kind as him. “Hey,” He asks me, “Weren’t you supposed to start your period a few days ago?”
I think to myself, then nod in confirmation. “I think I was. No big deal, though. I’d probably be miserable if I had to deal with that and this at the same time.” He looks deep in thought. “What is it?” I ask him.
He shakes his head. “I’m just worried about you, is all. Why don’t you get some sleep and I’ll run to the store to get some hot cocoa for you to try?” Hot cocoa sounds delicious right now, I’ll give him that. It’s not usually something I crave, but maybe some sugar is just the thing I need after all of this bullshit.
I smile, then lay back in bed. “Okay, baby. See you then.”
When I wake up, it’s to Jean sitting at my feet, holding some kind of stick in his hand, eyes wide in shock, jaw completely slack. I look to my right and spot two mugs of cocoa sitting on my nightstand, one half-drunk. “Baby? What is it?” I ask him, unable to push myself up.
“I… I… I didn’t think… I only had an inkling of a hunch as to what it might be, but…” He stammers, more to himself than to me.
I sigh forcefully. “Jean. Baby. What is it?”
“Baby.” He says.
“Yes, I’m listening, Jean,” I reply, a bit annoyed that he isn’t listening. It’s not like him. “What is it?” I ask again, with more emphasis.
“A baby.” He says, and when he lifts up his hand to show me, I realize he’s holding not one, not two, but three pregnancy tests. And they all are positive. “You forgot to flush the toilet when you peed after getting out of the shower.”
Now, my face matches his. “What???” I say, suddenly jolting up into a sitting position, but not without a wave of nausea rolling over me. “I… what are we gonna do?” I say, panic setting in.
Jean answers, “We’re gonna do what you want to do, of course.” He leans over, setting the tests down on my nightstand and grabbing my hand, squeezing it. “If you don’t feel ready…”
“I–” I cut myself off when I feel my lip wobble. Tears suddenly well up in my eyes, and I fight the urge to let them loose. “Jean, I can’t.” I see the disappointment in his eyes, and I start to cry. “I can’t lose another one, Jean, I can’t. Please.”
He pauses, taken aback, but quickly hugs me to comfort me. “Oh, y/n, don’t cry, don’t cry. I’m an idiot, I thought you were saying ‘I can’t’ as in, you couldn’t keep it, I’m an idiot, ignore my initial reaction.”
I sniffle and wipe my eyes. “Wait…” I ask, “You mean you would rather me keep it?”
Jean laughs, and I almost puke from the vibrations alone, but I don’t care right now. “Yes, yes, I absolutely would rather you keep it, but I’ll support you either way.”
I start crying even more. “Oh, thank God, thank God, I thought…”
Jean pulls back slightly, but only to place kiss upon kiss all over my face. He pauses, looking me in the eye. “Put that thought away. It doesn’t have any place here.” He then places his arm behind my back, laying me back down on the bed. He starts unbuttoning my pajama top, just a few buttons from the waist up. He kisses my stomach, right below my belly button. “Hey, baby.” He whispers against my abdomen, and I lightly push him away with my arms.
“Baby. As cute as that is, please don’t. The vibrations make me nauseous.” I smile tiredly, but beckon him to lay next to me. He happily joins me, throwing an arm over my stomach and sliding under the covers.
Quietly, he says, “How does the cocoa smell?”
“Good.” I whisper.
He chuckles. “My mom said she liked that when she was pregnant with me.”
Sassily, I say, “Oh, so the baby has your taste, does he?”
And he says, “Possibly. Is it selfish of me to want them to be a girl? I’d love to have two of you around here. Plus, then Connie won’t try to make me name them after him in honor of him being the first one to share the news of your pregnancy.”
I roll my eyes. “Right, the fish gods.”
“I thought they were dream fish?”
“Same shit.” I scoff. “Can we just… never tell him?”
Jean hums. “Mmm… unfortunately, that might be a little suspect. We have to tell my mom first, anyways. Gramas always have seniority. Want me to wait a bit?”
I respond, “Maybe for a week, that way you can say I got you sick and you can’t go into work.”
Jean groans. “Babe, how are you so hot, so smart, and so pregnant with my kid, all at once? I feel so lucky right now.” He kisses my collar bone, laying back beside me like I’ve knocked him out with my grand idea.
I laugh, hand resting on my stomach. “You’re an idiot, Jean.”
“Just a fool in love,” He says, “Thinking about cashmere blankets and cedarwood cradles.”
