I want to violently eschew the idea of the True Self. Who I am is a series of choices and actions and self-definitions. My emotions and thoughts matter but only insofar as they allow me to experience the world. They aren't my soul separate from my body and mind, but a part. I inhale in the world and decide its meaning, and I exhale that meaning in actions and words that in turn become part of the world. That way I am exactly what I decide to become.
