11 Questions Tag Game
Hello friends! Another tag game. I was tagged by @robinbibliophile. (I was tagged with another set of questions by @crazybunchwriter, and I will answer those too pretty soon!)
Rules: Answer the questions written by the person who tagged you, and write 11 of your own.
1. What’s the strangest school project you ever had to do?
I had a lot of really strange projects in middle school, so there’s a good amount to draw from here. One time, we had to rap about the Treaty of Versailles. One time, we had to write a journal from the pov of a WWI soldier. This wouldn’t be weird if we didn’t have to use a real journal and make it “look authentic” for our grade. Oh, and one time we had to hand-sew our confirmation saint into a hand puppet. Because Catholic school.
2. Do you think your astrological sign accurately reflects who you are, regardless of whether you think astrology is real?
I mean, kind of? I’m a Scorpio, so I am supposed to be ~mysterious~ and ~introspective~. But I feel like that sign carries some sort of stigma, because in every horoscope thing on tumblr Scorpio comes across as the rebellious or overtly sexual sign. Which is... not me. At all.
Basically, I’m more Tavros than Vriska. And I don’t really think astrology is real, but I’ve researched more about it than I’d like to admit because of Homestuck.
3. What was the game you loved most as a kid?
Hmmm. I don’t know if this counts, but I used to be OBSESSED with Legos and Polly Pockets. I would spend hours and hours playing out imaginative and highly dramatic stories with my sister. I was also rather fond of Mario Kart. I’m not super into board games, but I like Scrabble every now and then.
4. If you could live in (LIVE IN, not visit) any historical period, which would you choose and why?
This is such a difficult question! I always thought ancient Greece would be pretty decent. I’d also want to live in Paris during the Enlightenment.
5. Conversely, which historical period would you NEVER want to live in?
Medieval times, because I’m a woman and that would go super badly. Also it was generally not the best from a political, social, and hygienic standpoint.
6. Do you like watching sports? If so, what is your favorite sport to watch? To play?
Not really, no. My family loves hockey, so sometimes I’ll sit with them and crochet or write or something while the game is on in the background. I would rather do literally anything but play a sport, but I do like running.
7. Do you like theater? If so, what play/musical would you love to watch live, and which would you love to be in?
Yes! Theater is soooo great! I’m not super talented or anything, but I’ve been in productions on and off since I was about five years old. I might be seeing The Great Comet of 1812 soon, and I’m really excited for that. I’d love to be in Into the Woods, because there’s good music, a very large cast, and an engaging story. I’d love to be in Hamlet too, because it’s my favorite Shakespeare play. And oh- this could never happen, but I’d love to be in Starship from Starkid. It’s one of my favorite musicals of all time.
8. Do you watch a lot of YouTube? If so, what is your favorite YouTube channel?
Ahaha, yes. I watch a looooot of YouTube. I cannot quit YouTube. My favorite channels are Geek and Sundry, Jubyphonic, CinemaSins, You Suck At Cooking, LeslieLu Marie, Jenna Drawing, and LavenderTowne. Jaiden Animations, Doodle Date, EmptyFeet, and ms1sharklee are honorable mentions.
9. Are you willing to try anything once? How do you feel about trying something you hated as a kid again as an adult?
Yes! I’ve tried a ton of hobbies, classes, and activities, especially within the last two years. I’ve found what I most like to do that way.
As for trying something again, it depends. If I hate something because I thought I was bad at it, I’m totally willing to try it again and see how it goes with more experience. If I hate something because I associate it with getting bullied (like field hockey, for example), I’ll have a lot more trouble trying it again.
10. How do you feel about thunderstorms?
<3333! I loooove thunderstorms. They’re incredibly wonderful. Rain and thunder are so, so soothing to me.
11. What is your opinion on works of fiction where the main character dies at the end?
Honestly, this all depends on execution. (pun intended). If the main character dies for shock value, or if the author clearly just didn’t know how to end the book, I won’t like it. If the main character dies for strong thematic reasons or their death sets multiple events in motion in subsequent books, I’m all for it. It also helps if there’s a strong supporting character who could fill the role; some stories are so focused on the protagonist that everything after their death seems flimsy.
Now for my 11 questions!
1. Do you prefer books with an emphasis on character building, world building, or plot development?
2. Do you watch a lot of television? If so, what are some of your favorite shows?
3. What’s the most acceptable book-to-screen adaptation in your opinion?
4. What’s the least acceptable book-to-screen adaptation in your opinion?
5. How do you feel about the last book you read?
6. Which of your favorite fictional characters would you most want to meet?
7. Which of your favorite fictional characters would you least want to meet?
8. Cake or ice-cream? Discuss.
9. Tell me about your favorite oc or character from a current WIP! You know the one :D (if you don’t have any, feel free to gush about a favorite from a book or movie instead)
10. What’s your favorite outfit?
11. What’s your classification in your favorite series? (ex, Hogwarts house, Homestuck classpect, godly parent, Voltron lion, etc.)
I’m tagging @robinbibliophile, @eliannpa, @crazybunchwriter, @bewaremypenandwit, @brynwrites, @christinawritesfiction, @orangebooks123, @kbcypher, and anyone else who wants to do it. I know for a fact that some of you were tagged already, but I realize now that I don’t actually know that many people in writeblr yet. Oh dear. Anyway, feel free to ignore this or to only answer a few of the questions! I will not mind. I tagged you because these are different questions, but if you don’t want to answer multiple versions of this game it’s totally cool
