in hindsight, the sheer amount of hatred towards Arata and Souma for "stealing Toya's screentime" was so fucking funny because you can tell that the people who would whine about that do NOT pay attention to other units

Iori and occasionally Mio appear in Leo/need stories just as regularly. their conflict in Resonating With You felt just as major as Shiho's own dilemma. as for More More Jump! stories, Riho and Ayaka's struggles in Haruka2 and Shizuku4 featured heavily in both events and paralleled the focus characters just as much as Arata/Souma have been likened to Akito/Toya. yet, no one has ever complained about them in the slightest. lmao

Your absolute best friend in the marine bio club, he loves researching about cute creatures and taking care of them too!! Souma isn’t really focused on romance, he’s really glad to have found friends like you and Adonis. But, why was he feeling some sort of way around you? Your smile was so soft, he felt his heart beat at the thought of it, and how warm your personality was with him. He was scared to even confess because you’ve been such a good friend to him that he really doesn’t want to ruin that friendship.

But its not like you have hinted anything towards him. It’s always been Adonis or Kanata, hell, even Kaoru, he wants you to look at him for once, just once and say you love him. Souma started to doubt whether or not to tell you, when suddenly as he opened his locker, saw an envelope with your name in it, addressed to him. He decided on going to the place you mentioned in your letter, seeing you there with a smile.

“Y/n…do you feel what I feel? I really enjoy your presence, but I can’t help but feel I want to be more than your friend, perhaps a partner? If you want to stay as friends then I understand-“

With that, you kissed him, he felt like his world was just surrounded by you and just you both. As you parted away, Souma blushed a bit, smiling brightly but slightly embarrassed as you spoke

Let’s face it, you’re friends with Yuta and best friends with Hinata. He hates feeling like a second option towards you when Hinata isn’t there. Of course, you share moments like any good friend would, talking and spending time together. But it was all about Hinata; Hinata this, Hinata that. Yuta started growing feelings of jealousy for a while, but he couldn’t just go to his brothers best friend and admit of their crush, opening his heart out there and waiting for it to be held or acepted, anything but crushed.

Yuta knew he had to act one day or another, it can’t stay like this when you’re just there, being so kind to him even if he felt like a filler for when Hinata wasn’t there. Until one day, his brother found out about his crush, and promised him that he wasn’t interested in you, after all, Hinata felt like you were the sister they never had. After that day, Yuta saw things clearly, not blinded by the silly jealousy towards his brother and now focusing on winning your heart. Eventually, he invited you out to hang out together, which could be considered a date but he liked saying they were only going out as friends. Right after ending the date, Yuta held your hands softly, sighing before speaking.

“So, I wanna thank you for accepting my invite um to go out..but I also want to say something important-“

You cut him off by kissing him, he stood still, a bit in shock while his heart felt like it was about to burst.

Your friendship began with your father’s company partnering up with Tsukasa’s. You both instantly clicked having somewhat same interests, going to cafe’s around japan whenever your families traveled to other cities. Suou loves going to Yumenosaki Academy with you, it’s a routine going in and out and after school, taking you to the sweet fan club. It’s no surprise when the members of the club ask if you’re dating, to which Suou just blushes and denies it. Perhaps he was developing feelings for you?

No it couldn’t be, you were his best friend, and childhood one too. Kohaku had seen Suou doubtful at times and comforted him, encouraging his cousin to give it a try if he truly loved you. Even if things wouldn’t be the same after, Suou was really going to give this a try. The following days consisted of him acting more affectionate and close with you, gifting you small things like your favorite sweets even jewelry as well. To the point where you confronted him about all the sudden coddling.

“Okay Suou listen I appreciate the gifts and the kindness, but..is there a reason why you’re doing this? I mean- wait, you’re definitely hidding something right? Come on I know you and I’ve done so my entire life, it can’t be that bad-“

Suou leaned forward, kissing you softly as he had felt brave in that moment, soon pulling away muttering a small apology as he sighed

“I-I’m sorry, I really love your company and your sweet personality, you’ve showed me how to love and feel loved. I truly hope you feel the same as I do”

Himeru✰

After the incident regarding his brother, Kaname, Himeru learned everything about his brother. People didn’t find him strange, or acting weird when referring to himself in third person, after all Himeru knew how to blend in well with the crowd. Except for one person, you. Knowing Kaname well had it’s things, like predicting what things he wanted to do or talk about in the moment, even sharing class schedules with each other, so you knew he was not Kaname, but instead his brother who he had mentioned briefly before Himeru had come in as ‘him’. Still, Himeru had that side of him that made you look at him in another light.

Of course, he was portraying as his brother but, something about Himeru was just so different, he was more mature, rationalized everything and serious in a way that made you like him? He was kind and gentle with you, almost sickening, but in a good way. A year passed by and Himeru invited you to see his brother, how the incident had left him in a state of coma, tears were shed that day, and a lot. But you knew how much trust and care he had in you. So when he pulled you aside as you walked towards the place he’d ask you to meet him at, you weren’t surprised at what he said.

“Himeru hopes this is enough appropriate to aproach you this way. Himeru asked for you to meet him here, Himeru is thankful for that…would you be willing to give Himeru the opportunity to show you how much ‘I’ love you?”

You smiled, one he loved seeing so frequently. He placed his arms around you in a comforting way, kissing you softly while smiling

“Yes Himeru, I love you, not because you’re ‘impersonating’ your brother but, because i fell in love with the real you, the real Himeru thats under that façade”

Kohaku Oukawa✰

Being part of whatever Madara dragged him into, wasn’t easy, especially with making acquaintances rather than his unit mates and Madara himself, not to mention his cousin Suou who is somewhat friends with you. He can’t even recall the time you both met, perhaps his cousin introduced you or he had seen you around the Reimei dormitories. Even if Kohaku didn’t attend school, he looked forward in meeting you in the hallways of the dorms. His conversations being short and direct but well mannered, he seemed to have taken a liking to you.

Or more like a slight fling of trust towards you since you knew his cousin and friends well. It wasn’t like him when he offered you to join him and share some of his favorite sweets or chatting online when you didn’t have time to hang out, always ending up with photos of Kohaku and the thing he was so busy at. Sometimes it would be photos of him at the practice studio or helping Madara out with something, they were really cute, but he didn’t have to know that, right? Then he suggested you both went out, taking you to his favorite shops and cafe’s filled with pastries from around the world, sharing a bite of the (favorite pastry) you were eating as he spoke, now having the opportunity to do so since you were both in a much more secluded area.

“Hey so..would it be alright if I..confessed? Okay no I’m not gonna beat around the bush, I like you, a lot. I talked this with Madara and he said i should tell you since honesty is important and”

He stopped, looking at you briefly after you had kissed him momentarily on the lips, he stared for a bit before snapping back into reality, coughing a bit as he averted his eyes across the room, trying to hide the embarrassment he felt because you liked him back and kissed him, even though he wanted to do so first

“Perhaps a little birdy might’ve told me something like that before…however the answer is still the same, I like you too Kohaku, thank you for being honest, I really like that about you too”

Kanata Shinakai✰

You both met thanks to Madara and Ryuusetai. Since you worked with Madara on some missions, you actually knew Kanata when he was proclaimed to be a ‘god’. The shinkai cult was a very harsh one but, after Madara had saved Kanata, he was in your ‘debt’. But it never felt that way to either of you, Kanata is your best friend, one that always drags you towards any nearby water or anything you both enjoy. He really likes spending time with you and will not back off if you tell him he’s “too clingy”. People always say you were like platonic soulmates, but you’d always denied it with a small blush on your face.

However, feelings started to develop when he would always go towards you in need of help or advice, even saying good morning before anyone else, you were first and it made you feel something whenever he smiled at you or dragged you into the cold water of the fountain. Kaoru was the first to notice your feelings whenever you came by the marine bio club, cheeks a bit pink as Kanata hugged you. It was kinda obvious of how much you liked each other but were oblivious to it. Till one day, he invited you out to meet him in one of his favorite spots, laying out a blanket with some of your favorite snacks, looking at the ocean in front of you as he held your hand under the afternoon sun.

“I think I’m developing ‘feelings’ for you~ Y/n~, do you ‘like’ me too~?”

Smiling, he knew to take that as a sign to kiss you, his lips soft against yours as you parted away slowly, taking the time to admire his features and how the wind moved his hair slightly

“I love you Kanata, it feels like we’re destined to be with one another”

The cool stylish best friend you were so proud to have. Arashi knew the best skin care products and even gave you tips from time to time. She was the best to go to if you had any problems about anything. You both met at one of her regular make up stores to go to in the daily, she just so happened to love your fit and exchanged numbers. Arashi invites you to a couple of her shootings sometimes, looking your way when she’s posing or winking and the staff is quite positive that you’re dating each other. To which Arashi has no objection to but you’re almost sure she’s teasing you.

Besides you both have been friends for a couple of years, it’s nothing serious…or so you thought. Arashi had arranged a dinner after her regular model shootings and invited you, alone. Which caused some doubts because she would normally invite the rest of the Knights with you to eat together, especially for dinner. Upon entering the restaurant, placing your orders and sitting down, Arashi took out what seemed to be a box, you almost thought she was asking you to marry her but as she opened it, there were two rings, almost equal, she smiled and seemed a bit bashful as she spoke.

“You know I’m not really used to any of this but, I like you Y/n, I saw these rings and thought why not use them as promise rings? I hope you like it~!”

You smiled and held her hand as she kissed your cheek softly, then moving to kiss your lips briefly. Arashi then placed the ring on your finger as you did to her’s too. Many people thought it was an engagement and congratulated you both, even if it wasn’t, you ended up getting free dessert and a wonderful time with her

Hiyori Tomoe✰

Your 'archnemesis’ that turned into your best friend. Hiyori really didn’t get along well with you, especially when you hanged around with Jun most of the time, talking about similar interests as he watched you both from the sidelines while he waited for Jun to finish his conversation. It wasn’t fair whenever Jun opt to spend more time with you rather than him and his dog Bloody Mary. However one time, Jun went off with Makoto, leaving you alone with Hiyori and his dog, he then realized how kind you were with everything, especially Bloody Mary. After that day you both became the most inseparable of friends. Always giving you tips on your wardrobe and going out to get lunch or a cup of coffee to start the day. When he invited you to his concerts and events, you were always there, first row cheering him on as he looked at you from the stage. Something about seeing you so cheery in the crowd made his heart flutter, he felt so loved and cherished by his best friend.

Although he wouldn’t consider that anymore, it had developed into a crush throughout the weeks, leaning into your touch more as you both linked arms or his arm around your shoulder. He trusted you with some of his worries and inquires, always looking forward to your advice whenever he felt down or lost. He eventually ranted towards Nagisa and Bloody Mary, to which Nagisa pretty much replied with “be honest with them, you never know unless you say something”. Nagisa was right, he had to do whatever it took to say how he was feeling and Hiyori wasn’t backing down on this. It was when he had the idea to confess after one of his concerts with Eve, after briefly finishing and the majority of the people had left, he requested for your presence in his dressing room, escorted by one of the bodyguards Ibara had hired for the concert. Soon entering his dressing room and seeing flowers everywhere, even a small rose petal line leading directly towards Hiyori as he smiled and held a beautiful bouquet of your favorite flowers.

“Hiyori! Wow it’s so beautiful..but, why all this commotion? I mean I love it but-“

You felt his lips against yours briefly, a soft giggle leaving his lips as he leaned towards you once more, catching you by surprise again

“My dearest Y/n! I must admit you’ve caught my eye, and I have developed feelings for you, I hope you truly feel the same”

Ritsu Sakuma✰

Ritsu had admired you from afar for quite some time now, noticing how happy you were with his brother and unit, too busy to even notice his presence whenever he was sleeping nearby, but that all changed once his brother had invited you over to dinner at their home. That’s how the friendship became to grow, you both shared similar tastes, music and even things like sleeping. He was your best friend since then and has been for a couple of months. Unfortunately, since he still holds a grudge against his brother Rei, you were kinda forced to choose between them, although not necessarily since you’d seen Rei almost everyday and Ritsu too, separated from each other. He opened himself up to you, telling Y/n how he felt like his brother had abandoned him at one point and how he didn’t want to feel that ever again, to which you had promised to stay by his side no matter what.

Soon, friendly cuddles were a thing under his favorite spot at the garden before going to the tea club. It felt like a routine; waking up, going to school, spending time with Ritsu and so on. Whenever he saw you with his brother, he really wasn’t jealous, just annoyed and bothered at the sight of Rei touching your arm slightly, whenever that happened he always approached you and placed his arm linked with yours as he waited for you both to finish said conversation. Feelings started to grow when he saw you waking up from one of your usual naps together, the way you slowly opened your eyes and how the sun softly graced your face, you looked like a sleeping angel, quite literally. He took it upon himself to confess the very day you both graduated, the last time you would’ve seen each other if it weren’t for his plans. Ritsu had pulled you aside, taking you to your usual spot as you both smile, a bit tearful at the sight of not being able to come back and share moments with each other but that’s when Ritsu held your hand softly

“Y/n..I want to apologize for how late this confession came to be but..I love you, I don’t want to let go of you just yet, or ever..please stay with me”

Ritsu asked as you smiled, his hands now on your cheeks as you pulled him in for a kiss, it felt so right to share such intimate moment with your now lover as he pulled back, looking at you dumbfounded for a moment as you spoke

“I love you more Ritsu~ I can’t wait to find more spots under trees so we can spend all the time in the world cuddling together”

Ibara Saegusa✰

The protective best friend who doesn’t like anyone coming near you. He’s always been like that, since day one of your friendship. Ibara at first offered you to work with him since the job was open to be his assistant. Then it turned into late night talks and drinking some coffee in the morning before attending to important stuff that he realized he had actually found a friend for the first time in ever. Apart from Eden and Adam if that counts, he really felt at ease around you. His work became less heavy and less dull, thanks to the help of a kind friend like you and the company he had every day, he seemed to be in a better mood each week. In business meetings or Eden/Adam practices, he’s always keeping an eye on you, if anyone makes you uncomfortable or your well-being overall. Even attending his lectures, he felt happy seeing you taking notes and being so attentive when he told his speeches.

It’s so weird seeing that he prioritizes your friendship over his work a few times like taking you to lunch or spending time doing whatever you both want. It caused some curiosity between the members of Eden since Ibara would always be swarming in work and the progress of their units. They sincerely have to thank you for letting him see his soft spot, his sweet side to all that workaholic Ibara. It was quite refreshing to be honest, seeing him so at ease and the strees and burden from over the years were at much calm now beside you. It was love, he couldn’t imagine a life without you, Ibara imagined the day where he would wake up beside you, smiling softly as he kissed you so dearly in the morning. He thought that those “daydreams” of you both spending time together was normal, but he was just really catching feelings. After a long time of consideration, he decided to take you out to a very exclusive dinner, one which the entire restaurant was worth more than the entire ensemble square. He sat in front of you, letting you choose a variety of dishes before grabbing your hand and speaking

“I’ll keep this short and simple, I really love your company, and I can’t help but wish more of it, more of your touch..if you catch what I mean..please don’t keep me waiting, the thought of being rejected is harsh but I’d rather know that- mmmphf-!”

He felt himself turn red, cheeks flaired with a pink hue as he felt your lips against his, his face was priceless. Chapped but so soft against yours, he didn’t want to let go, even for a catch of air, however when you did, your hands linked as you smiled

“I love you as well Ibara, don’t stress over something that was already expected from the both of us~”

The bell jingled over the door as it opened, letting in a brief rush of cold air before it was closed again. Souma shook himself like a dog, trying to discard as much of the snow stuck to his hair in the entryway as he could before trekking into the rest of the café.

“Still coming down out there?” a voice asked from the bar across the room, and the redhead glanced up to see Shun watching him, a textbook cracked open and a throw blanket over his shoulders.

“Yeah,” Souma replied with a grin, shrugging out of his coat as he made his way to the counter. “I haven’t seen this much snow around here in years. It’s kind of fun as long as you don’t have to go out in it.”

“Like you?”

“Like me.”

Shun pointed his pencil at the redhead. “You gotta clock in right now?”

Souma glanced at his watch. “I have fifteen minutes, technically. I wasn’t sure how much the snow would delay my commute, so I left early.”

Wordlessly, the blonde shifted the blanket on his shoulders so half of it could encompass the chair at his side as he held it open.

Souma grinned, hanging his coat on the back of another chair and settling in next to his friend, gratefully taking the other end of the blanket that was already preheated thanks to Shun using it for who knew how long.

“Ooh, cozy,” he hummed in satisfaction, nodding. “Thanks for letting me borrow it for a minute.”

Shun shrugged. “I’m mostly worried for your health. Can’t have you catching hypothermia when you need to be waiting tables.” He poked him in the side with his pencil, flipping the tool back around with the intention to get back to work.

A tiny giggle from the redhead stopped him in his tracks.

“T-Thanks anyway, whatever your reasons,” Souma said, trying to hide how his cheeks got darker red from the slip up.

Shun blinked, let his pencil drop to the book in front of him, and reached over to squeeze his friend’s side properly now. The instant Souma reacted with a squeal and more giggles, it was all over. The blonde’s homework long forgotten, he easily kept the redhead pinned to his seat as he attacked with tickles, enjoying the noises he got for his efforts.

“Ahahahahahaha wait, plehehehehehehease! I’m at wohohohohohork!” Souma cried, weakly grasping Shun’s wrists in his hands.

“You’re not on the clock yet, remember?” Shun smirked. “I still have ten minutes to mess with you before you gotta be all professional and whatever.”

Souma shrieked with helpless giggles, squirming in his seat but going nowhere fast as the blonde tickled his sides and ribs like discovering the redhead was ticklish was the best part of his entire day. And maybe it was. But all the redhead knew was that he was going to get the blonde back for this, even if it was warming him up quicker than the blanket did.

Kaoru: Seriously, though. Why is Mikejima-kun so hung up on doing Halloween exactly as it was written in the proposal?

< Hours later. Evening. In front of ES Building. >

Kaoru: Ughhhh… … Somehow, I managed to make it through work for the day. 

Man, I feel completely wiped. Mikejima-kun’s definitely the main reason why, though! 

Kaoru: (Mmm. In the end, I never got to the bottom of why Mikejima-kun was so insistent on celebrating Halloween now. I had to leave halfway through cos’ of work. 

Well~, it’s not really any of my business, but overhearing just half of the story has got me way too curious despite myself… …

Still, if someone were to ask if I want to stick my nose back into that mess, my answer is a hard “No”... …)

Urgh… … Stop it, stop it! The more I think about it, the more needlessly worked up I get. 

Yup. I’ll just head back to the dorms right now, take a nice bath and refresh myself. That's how I’ll forget everything that happened today. Yep, sounds like a plan… …

Chiaki: OH! If it isn’t Hakaze over there? What’s up, man? You look kinda down!

Chiaki: By the way, what’s got you so worn out, Hakaze? Was work that rough today? 

Kaoru: Oh? Nah. That’s not what it was at all—

Blah blah blah (1)—and that’s the weird mess I got dragged into earlier. 

Chiaki: Hmmm, Mikejima-san said all that? It is strange he wants to do Halloween at this time of the year—

But, hey! It’s Mikejima-san we’re talking about, so I bet he has a good reason for doing it!

Kaoru: Hmmm, I don’t know about that. Everytime I asked why, he just kept repeating, “Because I want to!”

Chiaki: Maybe it’s cos Anzu's plan is just that good?

That’s a good reason, isn’t it? That means Anzu’s plan really resonated with Mikejima-san!

Kaoru: Yeah, that might be it. He was super fired up about it. I saw firsthand how genuinely excited he was—

But still, that doesn’t explain why he has to do it right now. Wouldn’t it make more sense to wait until Halloween season?

Chiaki: Hmm... That’s true.

If Mikejima-san’s insisting on pushing forward anyway, there’s gotta be a reason so compelling, it overrides the timing.

Personally, I think if he’s that passionate about doing it, why not let him go for it? 

Kaoru: Well, sure, if it were just a personal project, I’d say, “Go for it” too—

But Mikejima-kun’s dead set on doing this as a grand event. He’s even challenging Souma-kun for the R1 event slot over it. 

Chiaki: Whoa. The R1 slot? That’s one of the big seasonal event slots, isn’t it? In that case, it makes Mikejima-san’s plan really challenging to pull off. 

Kaoru: Exactly. And since Souma-kun’s event is properly Spring-themed, Mikejima-kun doesn’t stand a snowball’s chance in hell of getting that slot. 

Anzu-chan sees it too. She even suggested reworking the proposal to fit the season, but Mikejima-kun flat-out rejected it. 

Chiaki: Huh. In other words, Mikejima-san’s against changing the concept at all, huh? 

Kaoru: Yep, that’s the impression I got. I had to excuse myself for work, so I don’t know how things ended, though. 

Seriously, though. Why is Mikejima-kun so hung up on doing Halloween exactly as it was written in the proposal? 

Chiaki: Well, only Mikejima-san knows the answer to that. No matter how much we guess, we’re not gonna figure it out here. 

Kaoru: Haha. Yeah, I get that, but it’s kinda hard not to be curious, you know?

Chiaki: Same here. I’m curious to find out more about this plan that's gotten Mikejima-san so fired up, too. If Mikejima-san’s in a bind, I really wanna help him out!

Alright then, we'll go straight to Mikejima-san and ask him ourselves! LET’S GO, HAKAZE! ☆

Kaoru: … … Huh? Wait, what? Am I getting dragged back into this mess again?!

I assume the ones in the middle are closets (looks similar to Shu's Solving card where he angrily crochets in the closet) and door on the left leads to the bathroom (a Hiyori 3* card story mentions a bathroom).

Keito: Don’t be in such a hurry, Nito. We’ve got plenty of time.

Keito: Or are you perhaps going to tell me that you have some work to attend to at the last minute as well?

Nazuna: No, no, it’s all good, so don’t get riled up!

Nazuna: … Jeez, are you still mad about Rei-chin being a no-show? 

Keito: I’m not mad about that. It makes sense to prioritize your work, after all.

Keito: However, if he had other obligations, he should’ve made it clear. Since Sakuma proposed the idea, I ended up mistakenly assuming that he would accompany us.

Nazuna: Ahaha, but Keito-chin, you put on airs and said that we should “begin researching right away.”

Nazuna: It’d be embarrassing for you if he replied with “Oh, but I’m going to work later though.”

Keito: Don’t bother trying to re-explain it to me. Seriously, how incorrigible…

Nazuna: Sorry, my bad. Anyways, that being said, why’d you pick downtown as the research spot, Keito-chin?

Nazuna: Don’t you think it’d be better to pick a spot closer to ES…?

Keito: If we’re near ES, then Kanzaki might find us out. I’d rather that not happen.

Nazuna: Hm? Were you planning on doing this without telling Souma-chin?

Keito: Yes. I felt like surprising Kanzaki in any case.

Keito: I discussed it with Kiryu earlier, and we were thinking of making Valentines wagashi to give to him to express our gratitude towards him.

Nazuna: I get it. It’s a good idea. Well, now I’m thinking about making some for everyone else in Ra*bits in secret too.

Nazuna: Alright! Then let’s get fired up and start our research!

Nazuna: Though it’s pretty crowded here in spite of it being the middle of the day on a weekday. Is it because of Valentines?

Keito: Most likely. Though, the congestion at this time of day is preferable. The main target of Valentines is young women, after all.

Keito: Around this time, most students are still attending school. After school lets out, it’ll likely become crowded with girls again.

Nazuna: Now that you mention it, most of the people milling around the stores look like college-age women.

Nazuna: Ah, Keito-chin, that store over there has a huge line!

Keito: Yes. Apparently, that’s a famous Western confectionery. They’re selling limited seasonal Valentines chocolate cake.

Nazuna: I want to try one for our research, but judging by the length of that line, it might take a few hours to even get inside the store…

Keito: Good point. Then, we might have better luck with the wait time at the coffee shop across the street.

Keito: Hmm, it looks like they have some limited chocolate flavored drinks and parfaits for sale.

Nazuna: Ooh, this cake is super cute. The strawberry chocolate drink looks yummy too! ♪

Nazuna: I love strawberries, you know~ ♪ They’re pink and cute, so I kind of feel drawn to them…

Nazuna: Ah, there’s a crowd over there too!

Nazuna: It looks like that store sells white chocolate. They sell white chocolate ganache you can give out as gifts as well!

Nazuna: Uu~... All of these shops look so good, I don’t know which one we should go into~

Nazuna: Or maybe it’d be better if we went to all of them? I mean, we’re researching here, so it might be good to visit every single—

Keito: Oi, Nito. You’re getting carried away. You haven’t forgotten why we’re here, right? 

Keito: Our goal is to research ideas for Valentines wagashi. Don’t forget that.

Nazuna: I- I know. I just got a little excited looking at everything..

Nazuna: Though it really is incredible. Every store has attractive goods that pull you in.

Keito: For the confectionery industry, Valentine's day is a business opportunity they can’t ignore.

Keito: All of these stores must have worked desperately on their marketing tactics in order to make the most of this lucrative sales period.

Nazuna: O-Oh. Well, I guess that’s true. Somehow, I feel like all the magic was just killed…?

Keito: Originally, Valentine's day was a part of a confectionery company’s commercial strategy. It’s common to hear people call Valentine’s a conspiracy created by chocolate companies.

Keito: And they would be right, because Valentine’s day in Japan finds its origins in the founder of a certain western confectionery company. ¹

Nazuna: H-Haha.. Is that so?

Keito: The founder of this company brought the Valentine's day tradition here from abroad. However, there's something peculiar about it all.

Keito: During Valentine’s day overseas, gifts given aren’t limited to chocolate.

Keito: Japan is the only country that restricts Valentine’s gifts to chocolate. Do you know why that is, Nito?

Nazuna: Eh? Ummm, because of the founder?

Keito: Correct answer. Seems like you were properly listening to me.

Keito: When the tradition was imported here from overseas, it was changed to make it so that only chocolate would be given of all the possible gifts.

Keito: All of this was part of the founder’s business strategy to deal with sales drop in February.

Nazuna: I- I see. Keito-chin, you sure know a lot~

Keito: Well, there are other theories. By the way, while it is customary in Japan for women to give chocolates to men, this too—

Nazuna: You’re still going!? Keito-chin, did you maybe forget what we came here for?

Nazuna: We’re supposed to research the Valentines marketplace, Keito-chin!

Keito: Hm… True. Time is money, after all. We ought to make good use of it.

Nazuna: Okay, for now, let's just go to the coffee shop you spotted earlier, Keito-chin.

I have a feeling something bad is going to happen. Like someone gets injured, or worse. Everyone seems to get along well though. Subaru seems to be messing around with the camera settings and taking pictures of the gym / auditorium. Theres a raised stage and a basketball court. It’s really nice here. Let’s just hope nothing goes wrong.

A death game. Thats why we’re here.

When Subaru decided to take a picture of the stage, a small creature-robot-thingy decided to announce himself. It couldn’t have been taller than 3 feet. It also looked liked a cat? A robot cat?? Weird, but thats far from the oddest thing found out today. Monoshoji (Robot-cat-things name) announced that for our safety, we would be held inside Yumenosaki Academy. He mentioned that there are many facilities here for us to have happy lives, we could even go outside to the courtyard. We just couldn’t leave at all. Many people seem to make a fuss. Especially Leo, mentioning he had family and a younger sister as well. He didn’t like the robot at all, he almost fought it. But Monoshoji assured him that they would be safe inside Yumenosaki.

He then mentioned a way to get out. To kill someone. We all seemed shocked by this. Like, who would even kill!? Monoshoji then mentioned that was the only option for us to escape. Nothing else. He then gave us our room keys and a map so we could navigate around Yumenosaki easily. He wished us well and then he left.

SO WERE JUST MEANT TO KILL SOMEONE IF WE WANT TO LEAVE?!?!

WHAT THE HELL????

Hell no, im not gonna kill someone. There *has* to be a different way for us to escape. Seems Subaru thought the same thing as me because after the announcement he talked with me about how he doesn’t want to kill as well. I agreed with him, and he mentioned that he’s scared that someone is desperate enough to escape. I assured him that nothing would happen at all. But a part of me is still unsure of that. We then made a pact that we would help each other leave. Tomorrow, we decided we would go check for any areas that could be affected, like a trap door or something. But what should I do for now?

"I'm not into men" (The 40 x Scary Movie)

Souma: But...but we have all those special moments tog-

Rin: Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! First of all, you came onto me...

For this fan comic, I was remembering a very funny scene from that one movie I saw as a kid regarding the reveal of Bobby Prinze telling his now former girlfriend, Cindy Campbell, that "I'm gay!" and the funny tirade with Ray Wilkins as the latter denies that he's gay (and failing as he acts so much as a stereotypical depiction of a Hollywood homosexual man throughout the movie, even as he dies). 😂😂😂

For this fan comic, instead of using the "gay" word, I just have Souma telling Erina that he's also into MEN! Because in my opinion, sexuality isn't fully determined. As he then tells Erina that Rin is also into men, the latter takes objection to that as he doesn't claim to also like men (in his own series, he's shown to be comfortable with kissing a crossdressing ghost who heavily implied to be a male). When Souma pointed out all those "signs" when doing things together, Rin also had a justifiable "excuse" for them.

To say that Erina is greatly confused by what's going on is an understatement. Though she would be very interested in the idea of a threesome.

Anyway, this fan comic took me 5 hours to draw and I wanted to break a little from the anime style and incorporate my own drawing style of what I'm capable of for the characters. Also, when looking up Erina Nakiri's design to draw her in the fan comic, she has a lot of curls and details to her hair, and I will say, I'm impressed by how well I managed to draw her on my first attempt (and drawing female characters).

Stares at you so So autistically you have no idea what kind of beast you’ve just unleashed

Ok so. This isn’t exactly Tsukkiyama shippy but it’s about the characters and I’ve been thinking about it a Lot recently and so like ok in my head. They both have single moms. Yamaguchi’s mom was a teen mom with some very unfortunate circumstances and the two of them have lived alone his entire life, cut off from his grandparents and living in a tiny shitty apartment while she works multiple jobs. Also, he looks Just like her (except for the height, he is significantly taller than her) and they behave eerily similar, and are very very close. Tsukishima was kind of an accident, his dad only wanted one child and didn’t want to go through with having him, but his mom decided to keep him anyway, which caused tension from the get go. Tsukki’s got daddy issues. Also, Tsukki is very much autistic which his father was not happy about as it became clearer. His parents got a divorce when he was about 7, a year before he met Yamaguchi. His family, unlike Yamaguchi’s, is fairly well off financially though. When the two meet and become friends, their moms also become very close friends too, which aids in the fact that they’re always spending time at each other’s homes. And like, their moms are Total bffs too, and Tsukishima’s mom is always willing to look after Yamaguchi in their younger years when his moms busy.

Also you know how I said Tsukki is like very much autistic right. Another hc I think about a lot with that is like. His sensory things vs Yamaguchi’s. Cuz Yamaguchi is a very physically affectionate and just tactile person in general, he likes being close to and touching the people he cares about. But Tsukki is very sensitive to like. Everything. And hates being touched, especially being hugged or something. And so they have to make a lot of compromises lol. But they make it work :]

Also on a lighter ish note Yamaguchi can sing really well (I mean he’s voiced by fuckin souma saito for crying out loud) but he doesn’t think he can but Tsukki loves listening to him sing his voice is one of his favorite things ever

And Yamaguchi hates kuroo because he sucks and is annoying and steals all Tsukki’s attention and Yamaguchi gets jealous also I hate kuroo so like. Win

And I have. So so so many more it’s unreal how many hcs I have about these dumb little characters but I will hold off for now cuz I’ve been typing for awhile shdhsjshsk

Souma: Aah, Adonis-dono, it seems you’ve bested me once and for all. To turn the tides in your favour, why, only someone as wonderful as you could pull something like that off. 

Adonis: It’s not like that, I didn’t think I’d get a pull so good. 

And anyways, Kanzaki, weren’t you just one card off from victory? You were going for the “three light combo,” right?

Souma: As always, right you are! Fufu, Adonis-dono, looks like you’ve completely memorised all the “rules” in Hanafuda, that makes me happy—completely, wholly, happy ♪.

Adonis: In Kanzaki’s words, “isn’t it best to memorise the pictures?” So, I took your advice, and it’s the reason I managed to recall the “boar-deer-butterfly” combo in the first place.

Souma: Hmm? In the blink of an eye, Adonis-dono, your technique improved so much so that you beat me just like that. I am glad that I had the chance to teach you.

In any case, I am just as happy to be able to play Hanafuda with my friend. Thank you for learning how to play; I truly appreciate it.

Adonis: I should be the one saying thank you.

Kanzaki, you taught me tirelessly, with patience, never once failing in your perseverance. Even when I couldn’t even manage to remember the basics, you never once gave up on me. That’s the only reason I am able to play Hanafuda like this now.

It wasn’t just my own ability that got me this win. I was only able to win because you were there, Kanzaki. So this is all to say… This is a victory for both me and you, a victory for the both of us.

Souma: So, it is our victory, together? What was that word in English again… Oh right, you could call it a “win-win” situation?!

Adonis: Yes. We are a win-win.

Souma: Fufu, Adonis-dono, you think the same too, hm ♪.

Adonis: So how about we—if it’s ok with you—we have another round?

Souma: Of course!—Is what I want to say, but I cannot in good conscience say that, for I am a little worried for Anzu-dono.

Did she not wish to discuss your “feature live” today, Adonis-dono?

Adonis: She asked me to talk to her after school today, but she seems really busy. I can’t even go talk to her now because I don’t know where she is. I’m frustrated. 

I hope she hasn’t gotten herself caught in trouble, but just to be sure… Let’s contact her on “HoldHands.”

Souma: I do not think it necessary, Adonis-dono. Speak of the devil and she doth appear.

Adonis: Hmm? Anzu? It’s no worries, I don’t mind waiting, Kanzaki and I were playing Hanafuda together, see?

Souma: It’s true, you do not have to apologise, Anzu-dono. Being able to talk to Adonis-dono was a fun way to pass the time. 

Adonis: So don’t worry about us, because it seems like you need to worry about yourself. Take a deep breath in, let’s get you relaxed first.

There seems to be a lot of options… This one, you’re practising with “Andeddo?” Oh! And this one, it's you running for the track and field club.

Adonis: This one was taken backstage at a live house event.

I was taken aback when Hakaze-senpai suddenly pointed a camera at my face.

I didn’t really understand what an “off-shot” was supposed to be, so I’m grateful to Oogami and my seniors in UNDEAD for their help. And, of course, I’m grateful to you too, Anzu.

It seems our problem is that we have too many good photos that we cannot decide on the ones we should end up using…

When you say “off-shot,” doesn’t that imply what an idol does when they’re not busy dancing or singing on stage? I feel like all these photos match that vibe.

All these photos are taken in good quality too… I can’t decide which one to use at all.

Hmm…? So you’re saying I should just choose a concept for the pamphlet and that’ll help me narrow down which photos to use?

What do I want the pamphlet to look like in the end, anyway? …Another tough question.

Singing and dancing is all good, but this pamphlet stuff is all new to me.

But the fact I cannot decide on which photos I wish to use on my own pamphlet, means that I would have to take more photos, doesn’t it?

Adonis: Aah, but I’ve run out of ideas for what other pictures I could take for my “off shot.” I wish I had better ideas…

Souma: Well, if that’s the case… How about we invite Anzu-dono to go to the beach?

Adonis: Is that it? It’s true I haven’t taken any photos by the ocean yet… So perhaps I’ll be able to get a different type of feel compared to my other photos.

Hmm…? Anzu, are you asking if me and Kanzaki already made plans to go to the beach tomorrow?

Actually,  we did. Kanzaki and I were going to take a walk down the beach area that’s behind our school during our lunch break.

Souma: Every so often, I go to the beach to check up on the area so I can give Shinkai-dono a report.

In truth, I was initially going to go with Sengoku, but he had work to do, and thus I was thinking about postponing my trip.

Adonis-dono overheard my situation and offered to give me company instead ♪.

Adonis: I also enjoy the sea, and with Kanzaki by my side, I was bound to learn something new out of the experience.

The Power of Animated Food

With this title, many might think I’m about to talk about Shokugeki no Souma or the iconic food scenes from Studio Ghibli films. Anyways, I wouldn’t be surprised if Dungeon Meshi also crossed your mind.

Dungeon Meshi, Delicious in Dungeon or Tragones y Mazmorras, is a manga series created by Ryoko Kui, published in the seinen magazine Harta. It was later adapted into an anime by Studio Trigger and distributed by Netflix, completing its first season with 24 episodes.

However, this time we won’t focus on the story or the plot behind Dungeon Meshi. Instead, we’ll delve into its remarkable portrayal of food and a little bit of biology.

Laios, one of the main characters in Dungeon Meshi, is essentially a dungeon biology enthusiast. Throughout the anime, whenever he encounters new creatures, he explains their characteristics, anatomy, and behavior. This not only helps us understand how to cook these monsters but also highlights Laios’ emphasis on the relationships between monsters that are necessary to maintain the ecosystem within the dungeon. He advocates for respecting and being grateful for the food they can consume there, avoiding unnecessary killings, as disrupting the balance could harm the entire ecosystem.

So, considering that they only eat monsters, would you try the food from Dungeon Meshi? Personally, I’d say yes. But honestly, I’m often unsure if I’d enjoy the taste or the texture. But, it’s the animation, colors, and art style that make me answer YES without hesitation. In this post, I’ll showcase some of the dishes (from the anime) that make me reconsider eating monsters:

1. Tentacle Gnocchi

A spaghetti dish made from tentacle tendrils, and a gnocchi variation of the same. Both are stir-fried with Giant Frog meat in olive oil, garlic, and chili.

2. Exorcism Sorbet

A frozen version of their fourth dish, created during the process of dispelling ghosts. It’s made with water, a bit of salt, and sugar.

3. Boiled Mimic

Prepared by Senshi, this dish involves a mimic boiled in water with salt, as the name suggests.

4. Mandrake and Basilisk Omelet

Made from Basilisk eggs, Basilisk bacon, and mandrake.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST!!! My favorite :3

5. Stone-Baked Cockatrice and Egg Ankake

This dish has cockatrice meat, seasoned and pan-fried with dryad fruit, mandrake fruit, and leaves. At the base of the dish is a layer of cooked barley inside a hollowed-out brick made from dungeon cleaner secretions. It’s topped with a cockatrice egg sauce and baked to perfection.

That would be my favorites. Would you try them?
