"The differences between you and the Master Wizard," seethed Faralda, nostrils flickering with flame, "are so - incalculable, insurmountable - the very first, that you would ask - that you would dare! - such, such - disrespect, familiarity-!"
"I should say we are different, in some regard," said the Eye of Magnus mildly, in that wretched cadence, as calm and wry as Mirabelle at her best. Those dark eyes sparkled in a beloved face, glitters of potent radiant magicka glinting off black eyelashes like fallen snow. "Given that Mirabelle Ervine is a smear of ash across yonder hall, and yet, here I stand. But I do know you, enough to claim, yes, familiarity. I remember you. I remember - the state of things between us, such as they are."
"Such as they were," Faralda corrected in a voice of bitter stone.
The Eye's terrible grave mask softened. "Is it truly such a loss?" it wondered. "I am alive, and greater than ever for having known myself, I will live - have lived! - a thousand lifetimes in the moment of my making and my death. The pain - and there was pain, terrible pain, I am not too proud to say - but it is nothing, now. I am more than I was, but I was - once, yes - this woman you love."
Faralda's shoulders slumped inward, careworn boughs creaking under winterweight. "If that were true," said she, all granite-glacier grind, "you would not follow at my heels, you would not hound me, with questions, with - with your invitations, of all things. You would not ask me why I grieve."
"Then I am sorry," said the Eye, sanguine, "not that I love you now, but that I - when I was only one - have loved you less."
Flushing up pale and ill, Faralda shuddered away. "I loathe you. I wish you had never returned."
The Eye cocked its head, dislodging its ash-down layer of skin-tingling arcane dust. Mirabelle's wry little coil of a smile curled its unforgivable lips. "Ah, but then where would we be? You might have had to hold the vote to pass the staff to poor Tolfdir, after all."

I am confused here because I think the lab being involved in the Byers family situation pretty much explains things better than all of the stuff happening as a consequence. With the 'lab was involved, too' scenario you just have to explain things and expand on them. Because the other scenario too depending on several consequences; Vecna finding out Will's existence on that very same night and ending up lucky that he somehow found (luckily) a person who was similar to him with potential unlocked powers, El somehow recognizing Will as a consequence because that's ''what was expected from her powers'', Brenner onlu faking Will's death and not bothering with the other victim's deaths because the other victims did not matter so it was a consequence. Will somehow manipulating things in the UD because... consequence and random things, it just happened that way plotwise. Like, isn't that worse as a plot explanation?
(rambling incoming)
But you'd need to explain the Byers being completely and totally unaware of anything about the lab at all. That is key here. That is a LOT that they just "oopsie forgot to mention".
It's pretty clear the Byers had no idea about the lab or anything strange in season 1. It's clear Joyce didn't know Brenner or the lab in general while she was there. Lonnie is a deadbeat scumbag living in Indianapolis, too absentee to even sell off his kids.
How do you connect the dots of the Byers being totally oblivious to all this stuff in season 1? I can't wrap my head around this.
Hopper had a whole box of Hawkins lab files under his cabin about all the tests and experiments going on there with Terry and the kids, but he neglected to ever mention Joyce, Lonnie, Will, or Jonathan being wrapped up in all this stuff?
When I read those theories, it just reads as
Joyce/Lonnie got Will involved with the lab
Henry/El meet Will
???
Memory loss arc because none of the Byers have ever acknowledged any connections with the lab. Henry yes. The lab, no.
It might just be a difference in preference, but I find it much more believable that:
Vecna/the Demogorgon was chasing El that night
Either on purpose or accident, switched targets to Will and dragged him into the Upside Down
Upon his capture, discovers Will is a perfect kind of host/sympathizer and spends at least 1 season so far trying to keep Will chained down and will probably do so again
As for El's role in all this, I detailed it in my other post. I concluded the most likely scenario being El saw Will getting kidnapped either in person or through her mind's eye. All we can say for sure is that she recognized him. They can't have known each other or met more than once because we can't ignore the fact that Will did not know her prior and continues not to know her for another whole season.
This mixture of coincidence/accident turned into purposeful action on Henry's part makes a lot more sense to me.
Imagine this scenario.
It's in the middle of covid. You're confined to your house but you REALLY want this cool fancy cup you found online. You order the cup. They deliver the wrong cup. You're annoyed but you decide to use the cup anyway. Come to find out, this wrong cup is actually super awesome. Maybe it's not as expensive and cool as the cup you wanted, but it suits you just fine. Every now and then, the delivery driver tries to break into your house and take your cup back and eventually they succeed. It pisses you off because you actually liked that wrong cup and want it back. You still don't have the actual cup you originally ordered so you just sit in your house pissed off, trying to find ways to get back at the delivery driver for taking your wrong cup. Something like that.
That is how I think this situation happened.
Henry wanted El. He sent his delivery driver (the demogorgon) to get her. The Demogorgon delivered the wrong kid. Henry accepted it and just went with it and came to found out, this kid is also pretty good for what he wanted to do. He smacked a "MY PROPERTY" stamp on Will's forehead and got pissed when they took him back. Cue the rest of the series.
I think people who believe absolutely EVERYTHING that happened to Will was an accident are wrong. I also don't think the Byers have been involved in all this from the very start, it's too much missing information to fill in.
I don't remember the exact wording, but in the scripts it said something like, "Not siblings by blood, but by circumstances". That one line explains the entirety of WillEl and Will's involvement in this stuff.
You know how El is the fish out of water when it comes to normal every life? Well Will is the opposite. He's the fish out of water when it comes to the Upside Down mess and lab stuff. Living a normal life with friends and family was not El's reality. But it's her reality now. The lab/Henry was not Will's story, but it's becoming his story whether he likes it or not.
I know ST has plotholes and stuff they fill in after the fact, but it's usually to the benefit of a story they're trying to tell. They added onto El's backstory to explain the man behind the Mind Flayer. The backstory of the lab and them being trapped there together and him pushing her to her limits and getting banished to the Upside Down... that's crucial stuff that NEEDED the lab to be involved. (I'm of the firm belief subject 0 or 1 was always planned, though they could've executed it better)
Will being tied to the lab isn't necessary in comparison. You'd not only have to explain why he'd be there in the first place, but also his parents. To our knowledge, Hawkins publicly accepted adults for MKUltra.
I think in the books, it specifically states adults without dependents/children are eligible so Joyce would've been rejected and so would Lonnie (books are only half canon so eh). MKUltra was performed on adults. The child program was secret. Those kids weren't recruited off the street, they were taken under extraordinary circumstances and even reported missing.
You'd have to introduce an entirely new subplot like "So, actually when Will was younger they gave parents money to bring their kids in for some tests. And Joyce/Lonnie did this once. He met El and Henry. And then nothing happened and everyone forgot about the lab and the weird test they went to take."
Or "Joyce was a part of MKUltra or almost was but then returned to a normal life after" when we know good and well Brenner is not above kidnapping newborn infants from his previous test subjects. Will 100% would've been taken just like El.
Instead, just saying "Will quite literally got wrapped up in all of this due to mistaken identity -a common occurrence between him and El btw- and has never known peace since because the mistaken identity situation actually lead to actual similarities between the two." makes the most sense, connects all the dots, and doesn't need the writers to write a contrived reason why Will was already involved with the lab before.
It'd be like you met someone on the street and they look just like you. You joke around like "What if we were long lost siblings lol" and then it turns out you actually are. Not saying Will and El are blood related, just that concept of something so surface level ending up being deeper.
How I see it, Will and El's stories are almost exactly the same but in reverse. El's life started in the lab/supernatural and it's slowly becoming more normal. Will's life was completely normal and now it's been slowly seeping into the supernatural.
El was kidnapped by the lab/Brenner. Will was kidnapped by the Upside Down/Henry.
El's story has been about her building it up piece by piece, gaining everything in life she lacked. Will's life, while not great, was once whole and has been falling apart piece by piece in comparison.
When El was with the group, Will was missing. When Will was in the group, El was missing.
To me, if Will's backstory is tied into the lab, the very foundations that make Will and El mirror images of each other weakens.

Am I the only person who gets frustrated how badly some shippers want stevepeggybucky to be a thing? Like it always leads to Peggy just being the center of the relationship and Steve and Bucky onlu interacting in a sexual way :/ feels like a straight women’s fantasies than wanting to even explore a poly relationship. Not to mention the fans of this ship thinks you’re sexist if you don’t like the idea of them together and dislike Peggy….
i hate world war threesome or whatever it is they call that devil ship ... i also hate fics that suggest steve loved peggy at all but especially ones that suggest he loved her as much as bucky to the point where “she was the other love of his life”. steve has known bucky and practically lived in his pocket for most of his life. bucky was there for him before the serum, took care of him after every fight, was there to comfort him and stay by his side when his mother died. steve has loved bucky forever even of you’re one of the people who refuses to believe he know it was romantic before the fall. meanwhile he met peggy (who was only interested in him AFTER the serum and was only polite before) at age 24 and didn’t see her for literal months until they ran into each other on the same day he left to rescue bucky, so i promise he was not thinking about her that much. they knew each other not even two years and saw each other sparingly during that time because yk STEVE WAS ALWAYS IN A WARZONE. how romantic. peggy knew howard and the other howlies longer than she ever knew bucky and steve- steve and bucky who have known each other forever. so to recognize steve and bucky’s love as romantic but still say the ‘love’ between steve and peggy is equal or comparable or god forbid greater ... just say you think het relationships are more valid than gay ones and go.
also even if steve did like her, it’s very clear peggy didn’t like bucky. which, hey girl, if you’re gonna try and convince steve to dance with you, maybe don’t be unnecessarily hostile to his recently tortured best friend that you just saw him burn half of europe down to go get. all bucky did was flirt a little! he wasn’t mean or rude or too forward so idk why she was acting like the ice queen 😭 if you want someone to like you, i’d think you’d want their friends to like you too. anyways ... there’s no chemistry between the three of them combined. steve and bucky like each other but bucky and her? her and steve? not a chance.

Where do you think neymar would go if he left?
Spain.
Anonymous said:I hate this, i hate to see kylian crying, and presnel blaming himself :((( i hope barca makes 10-0 in man united in some point, that's it, i love revenge
He looked so down! So so down! Poor Kylian. And Presnel indeed must be taking it so hard. That’s why I liked how Lukaku instead of celebrating comforted Presnel. Seriously such a class act!
I would actually like it if Ajax drew them and we could get out Europe League lost final revenge... But maybe save that for later and let us first get FC Porto.
Anonymous said:Do you think man united deserved this win? i think that wasn't a penalty :(( i hate to lose like this, bc psg played so good! that's not fair at all ughhh
No, I agree that wasn’t a penalty in my eyes. That way you can give a penalty for almost all contact... I didn’t think he made himself bigger or anything so that he wanted to stop the ball with his hand but oh well... It happened... It sucks, but PSG should also be looking at themselves for even letting United (WITH SO MANY INJURIES) come this far at home... The difference between them on Old Trafford and at home was insane.
Anonymous said:pt1) lol I swear Neymar literally rolled his eyes when he saw Bruna coming on stage, his face was literally like "oh fuck I don't need this now" that was hilarious. it's also tricky situation for him cuz no matter how he reacts it can look wrong, I dont know if I think his reaction was great or if I think it's little shitty from him no matter the break up he doesn't have to act disrespectful to his ex or have ugly reactions to her.. but anyway it really looksAnonymous said:pt2) like this time they are done FOR GOOD and all I can think is well it was about fuckin time, tired of drama around Bruna and Neymar. I just wish ppl would caught up with that and stop talking about them every time they find themselves close. They were always running in same circles, they have many mutual friends, it's how they met in the first place, and this is for sure not the last time they will meet in the same place, people really need to STOP making drama about it every time
Well we’ve seen the photo that he apparently tried so greet her, but we will get the full tea about that tomorrow! So I mean maybe we should all have a giant tea party haha.
Not that I think it will go about them getting back together but just what was said because she looked annoyed. He also looked a little aprehesive. I NEED THE TEA!
Yeah he looked so done when her name was announced haha.
Anonymous said:oh no!!!!! Sabrina Sato posted a photo of Bruna with her baby and Neymar liked it!! What the hell is he doing?? I want to know what he is doing now? just fuckin forget Bruna already!! I am so sick of this!!!! he's so fuckin stupid.... just whern I though this crap is over! I'm starting to think he really did go to that box to see and provoke Bruna...Anonymous said:Neymar just liked a photo with bruna... Here we go again! 🙄
I havent seen it? And I also cant find it on her page anymore! WHat I do find is Bruna’s latest (or final) Carnavals outfit!! WITHOUT A BRA!!! Like her two sisters are all on display! Besides that - but I have big boobs I could never leave my house without a bra - I don’t get how she can dance without a bra! How does one do that?
Anonymous said:I hope to see man united get crush now, they don't deserve this win at all, that penalty was ridiculous, so i will laugh my ass off If they lose and i hope they lose with a undeserved penalty too, that's it, god i hate them so much, their fans are the worst ever on the social media, they're saying the worst things possible to psg, the players and the fans, and i know the story"not all the fans are like that", but this is too much, they're the worst fans i ever saw, i'm in shock
Yeah I don’t have that hate towards them, but I will say how some of these fans on social media are behaving towards Kylian is disgusting. Have some respect for this insanely wise man for his age that is a World Champion at the age of 19!
Like I’ve previously said: The people that are laughing at him now (that he’s down) are they same ones that will suck his d*** when he scored a hattrick of makes an insane run again... They can fuck off!
Anonymous said:I think part os psgs problem is that their ligue is not competitive at all. They can't "practice" like united can. United has like at least 5 teams in the ligue that are serious competitors. Playing against them is at least some practice for the other european teams. Psg has at most one if you can count that one. They don't know how to play against bigger/better teams because they onlu do it in the cl
Mwaaaaah! I dont really agree with that I saw a French tweet about that on the night of the defeat. I will quote it here:
Ajax just crushed 2 arguments that explain the results of French clubs in Europe:
The excuses of a budget
The excuse of the level of the national championship
Besides that I also think it’s the mentality of the club or something. There’s something in this team that makes them choke when they HAVE to win. It’s not an incident anymore. They should watch out that they won’t become a remontada club... Maybe they need a psygologist before games like this. I have no idea....
SORRY @ all for the late reply!
PS: Holy heck he looked so hot in blaugrana eh??? + that cocky attitude makes me *_*

Part 7
He'd borne his punishment with as muvh pride as he was able, knowing the children who made his life difficult were spemding their time in recuperation knowing he could easily harm them if they pushed him past tolerance. Even with his claws reduced to mere stubs, his peers had been alot more careful around him after that. Most of them, anyway. The garderner's son, a Golden Jackal by the name of Tabaqui, had taken to following him around when the pup was not working on tasks for his parents. Unlike the othwr children his little display of violence had apparently interested the older boy wherw it left others terrified. The most dramatic thing that the pup could recall happening before the fight had been an outbreak of the Bubonic plague following a particularly heavy rainy season(which had then been followed by a drought of all things vecause the weather in Bombay was nothing if not contradictory) but that that had been different. The bodies dropping A tiger cub enacting vengence upon those who had treated him poorly was far more predictable than a deadlt disease that struck without warning and had been responaible for takung the lives of four servant abs one of thw master's children. So, feeling he hed wanted to be associated with the tiger cub. He was not offering friendship. Instead he seemed content to be his talkative shadow. Lungri had no idea what to make about the strange vhange of evwbts, but as long as the pup left him undisturbed, he let him be. Following that incident he had started to pick fights of his own just to remind them of his prowess. He was no one's victim and if they wanted to scarw him thet would learn he wasnt one to be trifled with. In these moments he liked to pretend he was a deadly warrior king visting his revenge upon a clan of unruly bandits tht had invaded gis home. When he visited his wrath upon them he made it abundantly clear that if they nade any attempts on him again they knew he would not hesitate to show them exactly what had made his ancestors so deadly. In doing so he was giving up on the chance of friendship but it had always been an impossible goal anyway. He was better than them anyway, or so ge tried to convince himself. A part of him had briefly hoped things would change when his mom married a man who was outside the caste system. Tigers didnt usually form bonds outside of what they had with a parent. So, in the absence of the one that would normally form between a cub and their mother, he had hoped he could build one with his stepfather. As usual, he did not get what he wanted. The man had been friendly but he had gently informed the child that he wasnt qualifiwd to be anyone's father. The child in him wanted to tell him that in marrying his mother he had volunteered to be fathet by default. But you couldnt force someone to genuinely think of you as family. He would have already done so with his mother just in case she didnt feel for him what he felt for her. But his mother was not one incluned to abide by neediness. Demanding love and attention from her had never gotten him anything but cold anger and imposed silence. Why would the cook be any different? And if the behavior would only alienate gim further there was no point in seeking to begin with. It was logical to put it bwhind him. He was intelligent enough to recognize the futility in demanding something if the action did not earn him the desieef respomse. but beneathw the grudging acceptancw he seethed in anger. Adults were all the same. They diaplayed perfectly painted puctures of domesticity snd scorned hin when he wanted a piece of that to call his own. He may have solmnly accepted rhat the man would be father in name only, but in the aafty of his own thoyghts he cuesed the man for the rejection. He could have pretended to accept him as a son. Lungri was no mind readet. Instead he knew the man hadnt thought of him as sych at all and hed mentallu added yet another item to his bullet list of impossible dreams. But by saying he hadnt wanted to be "anyone's fathwr" in general instead of stating he hadnt wanted to be his father specifically he had unknoeingly presented himself as a target. It wasny his fault his stepfather hadnt wanted him so the blame lay instwad on the personal failings of the man who had married his mother. And he was more than happy to blame the adult rayher than himself for having done something to make the man dislike him. He prefered raging at othets in his head to rhw senseless repetitive wishes he had if he dwelt too long on hos lot on lifw. If he didnr aim those feelinga at external forces he would be thw ine subjectwd to them instead. And if he was the one to recieve all his bittwrness and anger he felt he would surely drown in the black morass of his emotions. His mother's status within the household had risen with her marriage(and lowered within society proper) but Lungri's position had not been affected. The man was not his biological father nor was he adopting him, which meant his caste remained the same. He was a herder, just as his grandfather had been beforw him. He had darkly observed that it was almost as if nothong had changed. He still recieved hust as little of the attention he wanted as he had always lacked. He had still been bren born handicapped, even something as relativelt small as a lame paw meant hr would be prevented from inheriting money or land by law. So upon learnibg he would not be forming any familial bonds with his step father, he chise to ignore the marriage and the cook himself outside work. It was a surprisingly easy thing to do. Perhaps the years he had spent maintaining a professional distance from his mothet made ignoring someone who shared no relation to him simple by comparison, or maybe he was kust givibg the man yge cold shouldet for denying him a familial tie hed always thought hed needed but thats how things were between himself and the man who was his stepfather. The cook was friendly but distant in returm. Strangly, the samr coulf be said of the relationship between the man and his mother. They worked together but they did not have the same sense of intimacy hed witnessed between ths gardener and his wife, the grass clipper. To his knowledge, neither his mother or the man she'd married had even seemed to sharw a bed. He tried not to question the arrangement out loud, but it was odd to say the least. When hed seen the cook embrace the man who tended the master's horse a suspicion had grown in his mind but he had opted not to ask hin outright, once his mother who had been with him ordered him to drop the subject. If he was right it had explained some things about his mother and stepfather that hadnt sat well witj him, but it also left him questions hed wanted answeting. Foremost in his mind was what kept them together if neorher party cared for the other in marriagable ways and what prompted their decision to get togethwr in the first place. Hed needed to talk to someone about it. Having no friends of his own and knowing his mother well enough to realize she would not answer any of his questions, hed brrn forced by necessity(all these secrets had left him fit to burst) to corner Tabaqui about it during dinner. The other boy was an entire year older than him and he had felt the disparity when those amber had looked at him increfulously, surprisef to learn the cub had honestly never heard of storied kf men who slept with men and wete caught by the authorities. Lungri hadnt anf had bitten yhe insi his hims. Out of all the sexual talk hed heard, it had been the British who had instigated it. His fellow wervants had never seen fit to discuss such subjects frankly without the master or one of his gueat's prompting them ob the matter. That wasnt to say rhe subject wasnt discussed. Or even that it wasn't broufht up somewhat frequently. The real difference was that moat seemed content to skirt around the acrua detaila, relying on euphimisms to get the point across while yhw English wetw generally quirw drynk ehen thwy brought it up and sometimes had a language barrier . Tabaqui hd onlu snorted at that, anf stolen a bit of the bread off his plare. The boy was hobestlt the most irrevalent person he knew, dismissive of cultural norms and people in general. Je chose to follow thr young tiger around when hr wasn't workinh because he found it amusing. Hw had settled down stealing a bit of his audience's rice and in a soft whisper casially spoke of the punishment q people, those of every religion he knew, were keen on leveling against those seen as sexually abnormal. He had found himself disturbed. Both by what had been described and how easily the boy spikr of such horrors, like an elderly woman discussing a friend's trouble with a rebellious daughter, he was simply too cheerful about the suffering of others to be entirely comfortable in his presence. Tabaqui hsd then topped it off with a casual memtion og men who married womwn to hide their identity like a performer might wear a mask. Lungri had decided from that point on he would not discuss matters with any especially dark answers with the other boy. He seemed to like it a little too much to be entirely comfortable.
