OOOOOH @fruity-legos !!! I'VE BROUGHT YOU YAP SESSION #2 !!!

2 months after the crash.

The crew is now stranded in space. 5h3 ship is covered in emergency foam, sealing off any possible holes into space. Jimmy is now captain.

They sit in the louge discussion whether or not to break into the cargo room. They haven't yet since if they were saved, and the cargo room was broken into, then additional pay would be docked from their final checks. (Goes to show how much the company actually gives a shit about their employees...regardless of the situation.)

Eventually they agree due to dwindling supplies. Jimmy gets to captains scanner from the cockpit, as it's needed to open the cargo room.

On the way over Jimmy visits Curly, who everyone(besides Jimmy obviously) believes is the one whk crashed the ship, in the medbay. His body is is covered in burns. His eyes lids, lips, and some limbs. (Hands, feet...parts of his legs and arms. You get the idea.) All of this removing his ability to talk or even move.

Jimmy berates Anya about not being able to feed Curly his painkillers, as it's supposedly her only job. But she gets/feels sick trying to do it so, Jimmy instead is the one who does.

Of course, the player when first playing this doesn't know the backstory yet, so this really just makes Anya seem like a nervous person but really she's kept Curly alive for the past 2 months while at LEAST 2 months pregnant.

Jimmy force feeds Curly the painkillers, Anya no longer in the medbay and instead distressed in the lounge due to Curlys pained sounds.

Jimmy then goes to talk to Swansea, who starts and guards the utility room, claiming it's full of foam that he needs to clear out and if anyone else goes in there they could cause a hole and everyone gets sucked out into space. Everyone respects this rule.

Jimmy finally gets the scanner and opens the cargo room. It's massive. Boxes everywhere...they open a box and...mouth? Wash? THEY FOUND A TON OF FUCKING MOUTHWASH WHOOPITY-FUCKING-DO. So much for there being any useful supplies in there... they're wasting a year of their lives hauling mouthwash 🥰

Anya points out that the sugar content meant to make it more palatable offsets it's effectiveness as a mouthwash. Swansea immediately notices the Ethanol content being 14% and breaks his 14 year sobriety streak by drinking some. (Ew...it's mouthwash bro wtf.)

3 months after the crash.

Jimmy wakes up from he spot on the floor in the lounge, hearing Curlys pained cries from the area. He goes to check on him, and not knowing if he's had his painkillers yet or not(They appear to be running low...), he decides to go find Anya.

He finds Anya and Swansea in the cockpit having a late night discussion. Anya seems to be crying and telling Swansea she completely understands. (Wonder what that's about...perhaps the pods? The foam maybe?)

Jimmy, seeming to just ignore that, asks if Curlys had his meds yet. She says no.

Returning to the medbay, He goes to give Curly his meds. Jimmy also starts expressing concern in how the crew is perceiving him. (Perhaps assuming that Anya and Swansea were discussing him?)

He's upset at the responsibility that comes with being captain, blaming Curly as if he was the reason he had to take charge in the first place. He finally gives Curly his pills...the audio seems different from last time though. ...Jimmy. what did you do? Beat the poor bastard? The audio suggests it. That's for sure...

4 months after the crash.

Jimmy finds Daisuke laying down on the floor, a bottle of mouthwash in hand. (MY BOY FHSKGKDKG😭😭)

Dai reveals that his mum found him this internship. He took it so he could prove that he was worth something after completing the job. He hopes his mum doesn't blame herself. He tells Jimmy to take the mouthwash from him. He does.

Jimmy then finds Anya in the louge, who herself is considering drinking the mouthwash too.

She then tells Jimmy there's an additional stash of painkillers in a wall mounted medbox. However, the box is behind foam, so he'd have to chop carefully as not to cause a breach.

Jimbo goes to retrieve the axe from Swansea, who is drunkenly dancing infront of the largest monitor. He gives it up...but only after he's slammed it into the monitor behind him.

Jimmy takes the axe and manages to reach the box.

Anya shows her gratitude in congratulating him for it. Seeming two reasons for this: She knows if Jimmy feels like he's contributing he's less likely to become angry, and to request him to give Curly his meds again, as it's still something Anya struggles to do. Her being about 5 or so months pregnant by now naturally makes it harder for her to stomach it.

Jimmybimbo over here blows up on her about it despite it literally being his fault she's nauseous. Claiming that he's the only one doing anything and trying to fix things. (He did 5 things over 5 months ... most of which weren't even his ideas so......)

Jimmy goes to "Give Curly his fucking pills" and tells him hw understand how hard it is being captain is now and that he promises to save them both.

WEEWOO !! Idk how many more of these I'll have but WE'RE GETTING THERE!! YAAAAAAAY!

i did the sketch on a 3 hour car ride coming back from the convention like 3 days ago and oh my god i hate drawing in cars !!! its not the sketching i so much mind, its moreso coloring, so thank god i did all the coloring and such at home!! but this piece took literally one million years but its done trust!! i have a lot of other *sketches* and doodles i could / should post from that trip! ill probably bring myself to actually posting more doodles and drawings and things bc i have tonsss especially of skwisgaar!! theyre literally all ive drawn for the past two weeks

thinking of him a bit further into the relationship when he gets that little lecturing role at one of the unis... he calls you on his way home, sounding exhausted but asking if there's any bits you need him to pick up on the way home, and even though you say no he pops into one of the shops to buy you flowers anyway. and he presents these to you after he clatters through the front door and sighs as he kicks off his shoes and tugs off his blazer and tie and leaves them in a heap in the hallway while he runs through to you and collapses onto you on the sofa - you have a little hug, kissing matty's hair while he catches his breath, and then he pulls himself up to look at you like " :D hi darling" and give you a little kiss, which soon turns into a big, long, lazy kiss. at some point during the liplocking, like you said, you end up against his hard chest, cushioned by a cosy jumper, soothed by his chest rising and falling as he breathes, and at his encouragement you finish the chapter you're reading ("i don't mind, baby, really, i interrupted YOU") while he takes a second to just chill and relax himself by putting tiny braids in your hair and kissing your temple; when you're almost done reading, you're like "tell me about today, angel. it was interview techniques you were teaching today, wasn't it?", and his eyes just light up as he yaps on about the course material (but he catches himself and says "wait why on earth am i telling you this you already know how to interview lol") and how well the students seemed to pick it up and the couple in his 2pm seminar that remind him of the two of you ("he blushes every time she looks at him. he's so me")... it's just lovely, hearing him yap and being genuinely pleased that he had a really good day. of course, matty goes all shy when you tell him you're proud of him, hiding his face in your neck until you lure him out like "come on, let's go and make dinner", and the rest of the evening is just domestic loveliness - good food, good tv (the gilmore girls rewatch has begun. he's fascinated by it), a sweet little shower together/pamper sesh, maggie cuddles, and falling asleep entwined with each other. adorable <3

Mindless Yap Sesh: Eurylochus headcanon— he didn't open the wind bag.

Hear me out.

I love Eurylochus! My personal favourite headcanon is that he didn't open the wind bag — but shouldered the blame anyways so that if Odysseus was vengeful, it'd be more on him and less on the crew. Which I think could explain why he didn't apologise for opening the bag— he didn't have a reason to. He wasn't the one who opened it!

This headcanon hurts me more when Odysseus tells Eurylochus to light up six torches when they were in Scylla's cave, because I think he'd give them out to people he liked the most— his closest companions amongst the crew. So, everything he did to protect their friends was worth nothing in the end, haha.

To me, Eurylochus is cowardly, and I think that was ultimately his downfall. Maybe his constant pessimism, too, because every time he voices his concerns— the crew gets more and more discouraged by Odysseus' leadership.

Eg. In 'Storm', he says 'at this rate we won't make it home alive', and the entirety of 'Luck Runs Out' just showcases how he worries and doubts Odysseus' plans.

BUT I also think he genuinely cares for Odysseus, for the crew. I don't see 'Luck Runs Out' as him trying to undermine Odysseus — I see it as him advising him, as a friend, as a brother, to not do anything rash, lest he get hurt. He emphasises Odysseus losing his life before even mentioning him potentially invoking the gods' wrath.

Eurylochus is Odysseus' brother, in the sense that he is married to Ctimene (making him his brother-in-law*). I think it's safe to say he cares about Odysseus' well-being as much as he does every other crewmember. From beginning to end, he cared. For the 600 men that were starving, to the handful left after Scylla.

He's loyal to Odysseus, but he's also cowardly. He trusts Odysseus when he says he's going to find another way to get them food without bloodshed. He leads the hunt to Circe's palace. He lights up the torches. BUT at the same time he doubts Odysseus (sowing the seeds of distrust little-by-little)— and his trust in his captain shatters when he finds out he sacrificed those six men to Scylla just to get home.

His pessimism got to him in the end. He's lost all hope of returning to Ithaca— and he's starving. Why not have one final, selfish meal? They're not going home; the trials they went through already solidified that. It's easy to lose hope in a situation so despairingly terrible as theirs.

So, he convinces them it's better to die quickly (after they sacrifice the cows + eat them) than to die starving.

Exerpt from the Odyssey (Samuel Butler):

‘Listen to me,’ said he, ‘my poor comrades. All deaths are bad enough but there is none so bad as famine. Why should not we drive in the best of these cows and offer them in sacrifice to the immortal gods? If we ever get back to Ithaca, we can build a fine temple to the sun-god and enrich it with every kind of ornament; if, however, he is determined to sink our ship out of revenge for these horned cattle, and the other gods are of the same mind, I for one would rather drink salt water once for all and have done with it, than be starved to death by inches in such a desert island as this is.’

or: lets take a 50/50 chance – it's either we live after sacrificing the cows and filling our bellies, and repay helios by building him a temple in ithaca when we get home OR we don't live, but hey! at least we didn't die hungry!

So, they sacrifice the cows. And they pay for it, because oh, the Greek gods aren't that merciful. Odysseus lives, which is deserved.

So, the crew opened the bag because they wanted to. They followed Eurylochus to their deaths because they wanted to, and accepted his reasoning. Odysseus is not at fault here, haha. Though, you could say he is, because he was the one who revealed his name and jeered at Polythemus, but that's a conversation for another time.

I think it's really funny how in the book, the crew actively tried to pull him away and stop him from doxxing himself 😭 like CAPTAIN NO. NO CAPTAIN DON'T MOCK HIM!!! and he just starts bullying Polythemus again:

‘Do not,’ they exclaimed, ‘be mad enough to provoke this savage creature further; he has thrown one rock at us already which drove us back again to the mainland, and we made sure it had been the death of us; if he had then heard any further sound of voices he would have pounded our heads and our ship’s timbers into a jelly with the rugged rocks he would have heaved at us, for he can throw them a long way.’

“But I would not listen to them, and shouted out to him in my rage, ‘Cyclops, if any one asks you who it was that put your eye out and spoiled your beauty, say it was the valiant warrior Ulysses, son of Laertes, who lives in Ithaca.’

Just goes to show if Odysseus heeded the crew's warning— and if they did the same vice versa, they wouldn't have ended up like they did at all! It's so funny 😭

So, all-in-all, I believe that Eurylochus is a genuinely caring (albiet cowardly) individual and he didn't open the wind bag, that he has the interests of the crew in mind (not the best interests, nope! Ody has those.) and that he was genuinely tweaking when Odysseus sacrificed their six friends.

I also headcanon Ctimene and him have a daughter together, but that he didn't know because he went off to fight in the war. That makes her a younger cousin to Telemachus!

I also like to think Ctimene wouldn't have the privilege of waiting for Eurylochus as Penelope did, so she was married off again and their daughter was left as an afterthought and not really looked after— but her heart still lies with Eury, haha.

Disclaimer: * there is no indication that Eurylochus and Ctimene are married, haha. It just says that in Wikipedia— but I like to think of their marriage as widely accepted fanon turned canon since (in Wikipedia) it states his name is Eurylochus of Samos, and Ctimene was married off to someone in Samos.

hey chat sorry for the month of inactivity. i was unmotivated to do anything with this blog

but then i looked at some of the art on here and realized that i just lost my love for the character designs. so you know how we're gonna fix that? we're redesigning some characters bayybeeee 😈

starting with the man the myth the legend, here is UNPLEZZIE 2.0

he's probably the only one i had genuine problems with other than not being very aesthetically pleasing. he seemed too boring, his proportions were always a bit wonky, and the way he became more and more simple the more i drew him dumbed him down to just...awkward.

for this redesign, i kept all the features that made him my unpleasant. the only really signature thing i changed was his hair, sorry not sorry he had to fire his barber. i changed his scars to be far less opaque as to not clutter him up (which was the main reason i left them out most of the time), the only drawback is that i'm no longer just scribbling them in with a brush, they're actual geometry, so i cut back on the arms just for my own sake. also his tail now looks (and acts) like an actual docked tail.

next is the QSWX GVCTXMG AMXLSYX VIEPPC FIMRK GVCTXMG GLEVEGXIV SJ XLI CIEV, here is CREEPY 2.0

creepy was probably my least favorite character to draw. its head shape with the hair that always ends off screen, the 4 arms, the lack of any real way to move visible, it has always been a mess of a character. don't get me wrong, creepy is my second favorite character to write for (beaten only by neuro), i love its personality and its inflection, i just never got the chance to show that because i hated drawing it so much.

so for the redesign, i've basically reimagined it. its face hair now has an actual definitive ending, it has a more unique shape, and is just much more expunged-friendly in my opinion. it looks even more like its mom now...

next is this one, i thought she was american. here's PARANORMAL 2.0

i'm gonna be totally honest i have no idea what i was doing when designing para for the first time. that outfit was 100% subconsciously stolen from some other character i can't think of right now. it also really just didn't fit her character at all. also i dont know why i gave her boobs???? what????

anyways for the redesign she's basically a whole new design now. i wanted to play with some shape language. also, para always had a sort of inhuman quality to me, despite her personality, so i've given her inverted eyes and some animalistic features. i guess it adds irony or something, i dunno.

and finally, the moment GERIATRIC CAT you've all been waiting for, UNNERVING 2.0

in truth nervy's design is my favorite. the only gripe i had is the lack of legs, like with creepy. also i had to give her one of the same pride flag ass gradient as the rest so she'd fit in with the rest. other than all that i love her she is perfect just the way she is with minor adjustments

that's all the redesigns done!! i only did these 4 because stabby is not mine to redesign and NEURO is perfect just the way it is. feel free to give me any constructive criticism for these redesigns, i can always tweak em a bit. also the more stripy gradients wont a pattern that follows the contours of the body but rather just unmoving plaid always. i hope this lengthy yap sesh contributed something to something, maybe gave some insight into my characters.

Rant about Blue Lock cause I need to get it out of my head. I haven't finished it btw but I'm pretty far in. (This is just unfiltered rambling😭)

Right so Nagi is like gay af right. Cause I read episode Nagi and the whole time this bitch is mostly thinking about Reo 😭 like even when it has nothing to do with Reo he's still thinking about him. And like he thinks about isagi a lot but it's mostly in the context of like a rivalry so I don't really see nagisagi?(I'm also very much a bachisagi shipper but I digress😌) Anyway I relate to nagi😎 BUT ALSO he kinda reminds me of Kenma but like Reo is my fave like I've never had a favorite character this intensely before. Like I've had favorites like Kenma (hq!) and Kyoko (pmmm) but my favoritism for Reo is far more intense, it's not kinning cause I don't really relate to him I just love him so I guess I'm a stan but that's weird so he's just my fave 😌😭

Anyway enough about that isagi low-key be pissing me off I'm ngl but I love him as a character but like ik I would hate him in real life because my ex bsf was exactly like him lmao😭. But also like a lot of fans would not like isagi in real life either because people with big egos be annoying as fuck sometimes😣 but anyway I love isagi as a character and his development he's definitely different from what I'm used to getting from a mc but it's nice yk.

My number 3 is

The Condesce! Aka Betty Crocker and the most recent empress. I like her a lot for some jokey reasons mainly to cope with stuff , but obviously there are some legitimate reasons I like her too! One is that she was soooooooo involved with the plot/really developed and such a good villain. Sadly tho she wasn't given many pages for herself, and she died so fast in the comic!

Most humans never got to be able to witness the true MENACING AURA and reign of terror this woman had! I'm partially very glad for that, but also quite sad. On my planet, at least in my universe, all empresses were the most documented trolls EVER so it's so weird for people to not know much about her.

I can't not give her credit for being one of the most infamous trolls of all time. So she deserves her spot on the podium, but of course, she's last! In the end all she truly was is a really old elite troll with so much power, SO MUCH, at her fingertips, it seems!!!!!!!! Thank you Condesce for your tyrannical and cunty rule, now we can all take a nice piss on your grave.

My number 2 is

Kanaya! Oh, Kanaya. I had to take a long ponder about who was best for this spot, and it was either her or Aradia. Canonically, Kanaya's more developed and stuff in source, so I thought my yapping would make more sense if it was about her. Plus she's awesome. Sorry Aradia!!!!!!!!

Despite everything that happened to her (including. 6 sweep old me........), she was and always will be so STRONG. She's so badass in ways I don't think most could ever DARE to match! She sacrificed so much, she deserved that happy ending with Rose (HOMESTUCK^2/BEYOND CANON CAN SUCK MY BULGE. THEY DESERVE TO BE HAPPY.)!!!!!!!!

Out of all of the characters from Homestuck, her character was treated with such grace. I'm pretty sure almost all of stupid Hussie's good writing went into her. Almost.

Which brings me to my number 1.

Terezi.

Obviously, I am biased, but it doesn't matter. Terezi was THE BEST in my honest opinion; in source, in memories, and even irl, she's the best troll I've ever known. She deserves her rightful #1 spot on my podium no matter what.

I'm so glad to have met her, even with what I've done to her and what she's done to me in the past, she always will be my favorite and always will have her name on my pale diamond.

This is mainly directed towards my Terezi in another sys that I'm moirails with! She's the best and I love her <> ::::)

1. um so the first thing i ever wrote/posted was my gojo x oc fic otherworldly. (don't look for it it's deleted for the time being). honestly i think at that point i was really bad at managing word flow, my dialogue was really cringe, and i was bad at describing emotion. that being said, i think all of that has gotten so much better in the last fourteen odd months!

2 so for this i'll actually use my current wip, because i've done SO much revising and it's a really good example.

this also got kinda long so the rest is beneath the cut. enjoy this little peek into my writing process for these fics!!

when i first start writing a song fic i look up the lyrics online, listen to the song, and select somewhere around three and five groups of lyrics i like. then i copy and paste them into the doc, and outline what the portion based on each set of lyrics is about.

as you can see in these screenshots i have the major sections of the fic outlined with the last two lines of each portion being the lyrics. i didn't include the last section because i didn't want to spoil anything.

from here i pick the section that speaks to me the most and start writing. i'll show you a few examples below.

so clearly some of them only have a couple of sentences added, but i continued developing my ideas. normally this is where the process for these fics ends. i just write the sections, tie them together a little, edit and post. but this is different.

i think the most important change here is i decided i wanted to do it in a 5 + 1 format so you can see that i labelled the sections with numbers and a heading.

but then yesterday i decided that i didn't like how i had set it up and completely redid the set up. i don't want to spoil it since some of the parts are in their final draft, but this is pretty much the final version of the first paragraph

that way i can shift into the 5 + 1 smoother, but honestly it might not even be a 5 + 1 anymore i still need to work out the formatting. also i don't know if i'm actually going to include the lyrics in this one which is going to be a big change.

FF7 OC yap sesh incoming

I've got too many thoughts about Raven for my own good

[I have not played remakes and just caught up vaguely enough, I'm mostly going off my faulty memory of the original and the old compilation]

So Cloud is going through his own can of worms with his SOLDIER identity but I've recently been considering what it means for Raven to abandon Shinra and SOLDIER.

Despite joining the company relatively late at 15 years old, Raven had always been considered a prodigy, even though it was kept from her. She rose in the ranks surprisingly fast and even scored herself a neat little station as Rufus' personal bloodhound bodyguard. All of that was a part of her plan to glean as much information about Zack's fate from the company's higher ups by playing a fully devoted subject they can trust, and therefore slip a secret or two up. It lasted for most of Zack's absence. That's 4 long years of bootlicking and surrendering all you considered moral.

She tried to built a bond of trust, that Shinra tested many, many times. And each assignment, she fulfilled. She just got up, took the sword her late father gave her that symbolized her honor and dreams.

And she slaughtered innocents with it. Quickly, efficiently. Without malice or cruelty. She got the job done. All for Zack's sake. He wouldn't have been proud and she was more than aware. yet she was willing to play the part, because the alternative would be setting out to the big wide world to look for him on her own, with Shinra closely monitoring her every breath. Raven knew what sort of game she was playing, and that the hand she was dealt wasn't the most favorable, after all.

There's a lot of dog imagery conjured around SOLDIER, mostly thanks to Zack and his puppy moniker. But Raven? She became an actual hound for them, being more of a dog than Zack ever was. And because she lived this lie of forced devotion she still gets the itch to grab her sword when she sees Wutai people. She has to resist the urge to click her heels in salute when she hears Rufus' voice. She's only recently started being deprogrammed from the SOLDIER conditioning. I really hope that Zack managed to go through his in the 4 years they've been kept at Nibelheim, otherwise every encounter with Shinra would be just plain out cruel. Someone you knew you could turn to suddenly is tasked to hunt you down. Your safety net? Your chain of supply? Gone in near entirety. I strongly believe Shinra tried to keep SOLDIERs as reliant on their in-house everything as much as they could. The off-duty clothes they wear? Shinra-made. The music they listen to? Shinra-sponsored. The theaters they go to on their time off? Shinra-founded. They had to be blindly loyal after all.

Now, I can't help but wonder if it's the case for all runaway SOLDIER. Genesis' cloning might've successfully replaced one brainwash with the other, but other SOLDIERS? Escapees? Retirees? How do they live outside of Shinra schematics after months, maybe years of being the company's executioners? A sword used to guillotine whatever was in the way? anyway thank you for coming to my ted talk, I hope Zack Fair and Raven Hewley kiss

Next yap sesh I'll probably talk about how Shinra knew she was Angeal's biological daughter sooner than she did and how f up this is because Hojo Dojo is involved.

i’m usually imagining what i write in my brain im thinking on how to make my writing enjoyable to read, like correct grammar and correct punctuation

when i write smut i don’t really try to use like… fancy words… yk? my vocabulary isn’t that big so i use words that are lewd and inappropriate cuz i like writing smut like that😭

i also just think of what i’d like to read if i was reading someone else’s fanfic. i like to do ideas or write a character in a way no one else has done yet if that makes sense .

most of my smuts don’t have plots— that’s why it was so difficult for me to make THREE parts of perv! regulus bc at that point i’d have to create a plot

since ur new to writing start with small drabbles and small scenarios and write stuff that pleases you. write stuff that you want to read bc in my opinion , writing something that i wouldn’t even read myself is boring and it makes it harder to finish actually writing

i’m a very “self insert” type of girl. i like to imagine myself as the reader. the character i’m writing smut for— the dialogue that they speak is something i’d want to hear as well if that makes sense

Day 9 - 2024/04/25

i slept rlly late last night too oh well woke up at like 9ish BRUH I COULDNT WAKE UP IT WAS SO HARD but it's fine i went to office hrs and thank god it helped a lot but hmm i ate rende w ava and omg we saw sam there?? LMAO BUT AVA GUYS SHE J LIKE ME FR bro when i tell u we have the same taste LITERAL SAME she twinnem fr BUT I LOVE HER LIKE YAPPING SESH but it felt like i was j fangirling w her HAHA anyways uhh lots of back to back meetings and i'm slightly overwhelmed but oh well BUT OMG MY FRIENDS AND I WENT TO KARAOKE it was a self care thing lowkey to get some relaxing BUT IT WAS FUN i feel like i can do any work atp idk i feel like whenever i'm overwhelmed if i do smth like relaxing w friends it makes me feel so much better but hmm goal was to get work done ONCE AGAIN and i think i did okay IM LEARNING TIME MANAGEMNET IS HARD but i'm trying HAHA anyways like 9/10?? 8?? around there BETTER GOOD THEN BAD but imma grind tmr yup yup [23:42]
