I'm thinking abt that pretty fall leaves embroidery pattern post and about how like... it is categorically a repost, it's a reupload. right? a thing that is generally disliked. but because it's credited, it's genuinely boosting the artist in question. and it could ALWAYS be like this. reposting content could ALWAYS be a symbiotic relationship, but because sourcing back to the original creator of something is so uncommon, it's just easier to ask people not to repost it at all. and people still don't understand the difference. or they'll go to the effort of cropping out usernames/signatures to repost something, which is More Effort than literally crediting the creator of something you liked enough to want to repost. Like. I literally don't actually care if my own shit gets reposted, you have to understand. I just don't want it STOLEN. But "do not repost" is easier to write on my art than "you can repost this, but don't alter the image/remove my signature, don't you dare write 'credit goes to the artist' because that is not credit, please link back to my original post or someplace that you can actually find me. please use an actual link/url instead of writing a non-clickable link of my username, because making it text instead of a clickable link cuts the number of people who will go to the effort of visiting my own page in Half." All those aggregate themed accounts, those fuckin annoying as hell instagrams and facebook groups that are like "body positive art we love wamen 💕 hashtag feminism" and then MASS-STEAL plus sized art created by women, if pages like these that always go and steal my older self-portraits and other works... If they just put a link to my prints of those pieces in the text of those posts, or, fuck, my commission info page? I would literally be living on the moon right now. I would have a house on the moon

I wish everyone saw it with the same amount of, like, kind of enthusiasm. I think all of this and all the development and all the potential arcs, that's going to fcking allow for something absolutely incredible.

And if anyone ends up clipping any of this, something I do want to say is I implore people to view everything with a lot of enthusiasm. No stress, no anxiety, just a lot of enthusiasm. Because, again, this is going to allow for a lot of cool things in the server. Not just now, but in the future, too.

my only input on the wag discourse is that a( it's stupid, and, b( saying that lb is reducing herself to nothing more than a wag is, like, comical to me, because it's like getting mad at a cat account for only posting their cats. her socials are to talk about her experiences & the few other things she wants to show. it's not her entire life and acting like you know if she is 'reducing' herself or not is, in fact, reducing her as a person to nothing but an internet plaything, lol. you don't have to like her nor what she says but getting this mad over her saying the most milquetoast take possible ("hockey men will let you do a lot if you're conventionally attractive,") is wild. you might want to sit down for this one, but guess what man. the sky is blue also

i know the epilogues are bad yadda yadda yadda but ahhh every now and then i think about meat rose and sigh this wistful little sigh...

she's so sad to me. a woman suffering so much being taken advantage of by the only person who she thinks can sympathize with her situation... so vulnerable and desperate for a way out, a way to fix things so she can be happy with her wife and live this peaceful life being denied to her because the game still haunts her after all this time

rose and dirks convos in the epilogues are still so good imo i don't even care what anyone says. rose deserved so much better but oh maaan i think about it so much. a cruel father and a desperate daughter. i think a lot about the weird tenderness in those scenes between them, the way dirk uses rose's weakness to take advantage of her

i love to dream of a world where post canon rose grows and learns from the people who took advantage of her as a child, and through that prevents cycles of abuse from perpetuating in her adult life. but also i rotate the way that rose's fall from grace caused by dirk in the epilogues parallels with her plunge into grimdarkness via dr scratch in homestuck proper all the time and idk. i cant help but think it's a little clever

every day i spend on twitter, because that's where most of the starmin are, is a day i wish most of that community would move to tumblr just because the way this site works in comparison would be so much better for it. the ability to tag art and be able to find it later on your own blog no matter how far back it was posted. the way you can add on to each others posts. and also i just like tumblers post format much better. especially for making a vague / simple post and then going into more detail in the tags cuz you don't wanna put all that in the main post but like it's there for anyone that wants to read it. on twitter you gotta put it all in the main body of the post and i. do not want to do that
