hi i was just wondering how long driver!reader has known lando and oscar and if what you’ve written so far is during her rookie season in the grid? love love all of your work and your writing is beautiful

soo it kind of fluctuates and i’ve probably made a few mistakes because i didn’t necessarily think about the timeline when i was writing. a few things are set in her rookie year! but most of what ive written is set in her second year in F1. her timeline is very parallel to oscars. rookie year she’s very much sat in the midfield, and in her second year mercedes becomes more and more competitive again it mirrors this season a lot though its not necessarily accurate to real life.

and my general thoughts are that she’s raced with and against logan and oscar in karting, f2, etc, basically since she was young. but maybe not as close to them until they get into f1, i think she was probably very insular before getting the mercedes seat. (like she can relax a bit and open up now that she’s finally reached her goal). and lando i would say the two years she been in f1!

You squeeze the excess water from your hair as you peel back the shower curtain, a healthy layer of condensation blanketing the mirror. Rivulets of water drip down the length of your back. Safehouses usually suck, but at least this one has running water.

The towel slides off the bar as you tug it gently, wrapping yourself in a threadbare cloak with little to no expectation of it absorbing anything at all. Still, you’re grateful for even this small favor. You remind yourself to ask Price to tip his cleaning lady more often, the mere thought making you laugh inwardly.

Wiping a hand across the glass, a face that doesn’t quite look like yours stares back. It’s conspicuously absent of the dirt and grime you’ve grown accustomed to while looking far more worn and tired than you recall. A sigh leaves you, and you opt to look away. You need to find a toothbrush anyway.

There’s a mild groan of complaint from the hinges as you open the door, but the house is otherwise silent. No floorboards protest as your soft footsteps pad back towards the singular bedroom.

The door is more than cracked, you notice, as a thin beam of dull yellow washes across your ankles. You think nothing of it as you push it a little further, but you should’ve.

Your lieutenant stands on the other side, face bare of his usual attire. The leisurely pace you’ve set falters at the sight of his mussed, sandy blonde hair, and your breath catches in your throat. 

He’s beautiful in every sense of the word; every dimple, crease, and scar placed perfectly by the hands of God himself. No painter or sculptor, no artist of any medium that ever has or will live could dare to dream up something so resplendent. You reserve the image before you in a mere moment, seared behind your eyelids as you squeeze them shut.

It feels wrong to see him like this. A primary rule of joining the 141: if Ghost has his mask off, don’t look. And somehow, the first mission you’re on alone - together - you manage to fuck it up.

Admittedly, you’ve always had a thing for Simon. How could you not? His jokes always make you laugh (even if the rest of the guys groan), he holds doors for you, always checks in after absolutely kicking your ass in sparring, makes sure you’re taking care of yourself after long missions. There’s nothing about him that dissuades your little crush. But that’s all it is, right? A little crush; nothing more.

To solidify your commitment to not peeking, you put your hands over your eyes, issuing a startled apology.

Simon laughs - actually laughs - and you feel a pair of warm hands close around your wrists. He tugs gently, a soft hum of your name on his lips.

“Am I really that ugly, Sergeant?” he asks, breath fanning across your cheek in a warm haze. You shake your head. “Then why don’t you wanna look at me?”

“Not supposed to, sir,” you answer, eyes still pinched shut. Simon releases your wrists, instead shifting his hold to your cheeks, cradling them in his palms like he’s carrying an injured animal.

Cautiously, you crack one eye open. You can feel your heart racing, pounding against your ribcage with violent glee. Simon chuckles again, mere inches away, and those stained glass eyes of his crinkle at the corners.

as a pisces myself, I absolutely love the hc of Ratio being one as well. I'm not that deep into astrology, but the way pisces is always said to be deeply empathic and have a sort of 'dreamy' mindspace - both things I've never really seen in the stereotypical way in myself, Ratio really embodies how those traits manifest in me. 1. Memories

1. For my junior prom, my friends and I had our own "anti-prom" where we all dressed up in "prom attire" and went downtown to play laser tag in our dresses/suits and got dinner together. The night ended where someone somehow slipped in the public ground fountains outside of the capitol building and then we all ended up running around in the water, getting soaked in our prom get up. We all headed home after that around midnight, blasting All Time Low with the windows down.

2. My second All Time Low concert! My friends and I drove all the way down to Atlanta (I used to live in Nashville from ages 8-19) where we all went and saw All Time Low together!! It was a few days after my 18th birthday and my friends made me a poster with a bunch of stupid pictures of me and us and it said something along the lines of finally being legal in hopes to get me up on stage during Time Bomb when they used to bring people to dance and sing with them. I also accidentally smacked a security guard in the face with my phone because I was dancing in my aisle seat and he was right next to me and I didn't know. I felt so bad 😭 I apologized ofc but I went back to dancing lanflsllal. It was a really good birthday (because I literally just got my first tattoo a few days prior, an all time low lyric if you can believe it lmao)

3. Meeting my partner in person for the first time. I don't remember much, but I remember how elated I was to see him. His parents were so kind (and still are) and I dunno. It was a life altering moment because I decided then I wanted to move from Tennessee to be with him as soon as possible. We were long distance for years, like about 5 years. Young me wouldn't believe me if I told her where I was now lol.

I was gonna answer this with a drabble but actually I just wanna talk about it now because I miss them so much from my brain 😭 Dr Stucky has moved in and I want to finish their story before I go back to anything else!

Yes daddy!Bucky is the bar I set for men and it is an exceptionally high bar now 😂 he's so dreamy!

So I am going to write a thing about how they met, but I think it was discussed previously with the idea being, Princess worked for his business rival and was treated badly and Bucky was enamoured by her. And I think there was an idea that he visited her desk which was littered with princessy stuff and she was mega shy and he was like "this is the girl for me".

I need to expand on it more and it may change slightly but that's sort of how they met.

I think the dynamic arrived quite naturally and quite quickly. He sees that she needs to be taken care of and he wants to do it so badly. Obviously he lets her make her mind up, but he definitely nudges her along where he can. Again I will expand on this when I can!

I would say yes to marriage, but ironically it would probably be the least romantic thing 😂 he would think omg if something happens to me, I need to make sure Princess is taken care of, so let's just go sign some papers at the courthouse and spend the money on a honeymoon sex fest 😂😂😂

Babies... I'm not so sure about. That is probably just my own personal bias towards I how I feel about having babies but I think it does complicate their story.

Having said all of that, I also like the idea of it being vague enough for you to imagine what you like? Did you imagine them meeting a different way (because I would LOVE TO KNOOOOOW) and if you want to imagine them having a big wedding and lots of babies then I'm cool with that 😊

I’ve never watched Vampire Diaries, but that’s pretty much exactly how I’d describe Makarov and Petra in that series: him letting her have her way and saving her at every turn, even though he knows shouldn’t.
