i feel like slightly younger than marius mael is the best just for flavor reasons lol. reeaally curious to know what you think
I think I usually land on slightly younger but not like a baby. Like early 30s maybe. BUT I'LL TELL YOU SOME THOUGHTS OF WHY I LIKE EACH OR WHY EACH COULD WORK:
Under 30: First of all because of Jesse's chapter in QOTD--Maharet was turned around age 20 I think? And for Jesse, I'm sure there's that sort of uncanny thing where your mind fills in blanks and makes excuses, like, her "aunt" has been around her whole life so like gee golly I guess she just looks young for her age! Except that there's like the vampire uncanniness too, so whatever you judge as an age doesn't super matter. So like, Mael blending in as one of her guy friends in his early 20s would make sense. Jesse DOES also clock him as not being human, so again I think the uncanniness might not make her peg either of them as a certain age.
I do worry if this clashes with the idea that he could properly be a priest? Caesar said that it takes 20 years to train a priest, but A) A lot of what Caesar said is like anti-Keltoi propaganda and might not be accurate since the Druids famously never left anything in writing, so there's very little first hand information about them. B) MAYBE IT'S OKAY BECUASE IN VC-VERSE TESKHAMEN IS REAL AND MAEL WAS REALLY COMMUNING WITH HIM SO IF THERE WAS LIKE MAGIC AFOOT IN THE COMMUNITY MAYBE HE GOT FAST TRACKED OR RESPECTED AS BEING SPECIAL IDK. I can work with it and make excuses lol.
I LOVE the idea of him being like a young man because of how much madder that would make Marius, plus the way he likes to mentor young blonde men lol. But it might like hurt him even worse if the author of all his misfortunate is like SOME KID.
In his 30s: Personally I usually land here because I DO wonder how long it takes him to gain status in his community and become a priest (in his 30s is still fast tracking it but maybe feels more plausible LOL) and I enjoy the idea of he and Marius being sort of similar to each other. Like, Marius often gets used as the example of Turning an Older Guy and what it means for his temperament and the way it translates to his immortality. I like imagining Mael as around Marius's age for that reason, like I want to remove all his excuses why Mael is a young stupid kid or even an old salty jerk--it forces Marius to confront that Mael is ALSO someone who is chill and smart and has had enough life experience. BUT WHILE THERE'S A WINDOW WHERE THEY COULD BE SIMILAR IN AGE, OR MAEL COULD BE A TAD OLDER, I ALSO STILL ENJOY MARIUS BEING LIKE "HE'S YOUNGER THAN ME I HATE THIS!" BECAUSE HIS AGE AND SELF-PERCEIVED WISDOM & EXPERIENCE ARE IMPORTANT TO HIS IDENTITY AND HE FEELS BELITTED LOL.
In his 40s: Makes sense for the above reason! But I like to skew younger personally just for the Marius ageism dynamic lol. Also there's something about him being a foil to Marius where like, if they're very similar in other ways it can kind of emphasize how their atheism/religion contrasts each other and affects them as people.
Over 50: ALSO POSSIBLE and it's hilarious bc in the audiobook the narrator reads him like such a grouchy old man lmao. I could see this causing a lot of resentment because Marius likes to be the oldest and wisest in the room. I could see him also being younger because Marius insults him every chance he gets and I just think he would've told us that Mael is like an old hag if it were true lol. Anyway wondering how this effects Marius's barbarian kink and how he submits to men.

vinnie hacker smut - take it out on me -
hi readers - this was another request I had, not my best work and also pretty short so I apologize but hope you like it - also - this story has a bit of that cigarette incident with Vinnie, but I do NOT care that he smokes, sadly I find it attractive (I know, I'm the worst) but anyway Its just a story.
warning: smut 18+
“Are you fucking kidding me?” Vinnie groans exiting his now stalled car on the side of the road. He slams the door closed causing Jett to jump as he gets out as well.
“Let me make some calls so someone can come out here and get us, dont stress,” Jett assures him as best as he can but he already knows Vinnies had a rough day and there's only so much he can say to make it better.
Vinnie moves both his hands to the back of his neck holding it tightly pacing by the front of the car ignoring Jetts attempt at comfort. He pulls out his phone and opens your text thread typing.
Vinnie: I'm having the worst day.
You read his text and sigh knowing it was coming. A few hours ago Tik Tok room also blew up a post at their weekly attempt to “Cancel Vinnie Hacker” along with his meeting regarding the boxing match that he never got paid for. Things just weren't going his way today and when that happens he falls deep into the dark.
You: Come over?
Vinnie: I'm stuck on the side of the road. I don't even want to talk about it. I'm turning my phone off.
You read his text and slightly frowned. You knew he was in a bad mood but you hated when he pushed you away and wouldn't even let you help. You decided to grab your things and go to the Hype House to wait for him to get back.
                                                       ---------
Vinnie storms into his bedroom slamming the room shut startling you as you sit on his bed slowly closing your laptop. He turns around and slams his first against the back of the door leaning his head against it for a moment before turning around to press his back to it and slides down taking his head in his hands.
“Hey hey, let's breathe for a second?” You say softly approaching him, getting down to sit in front of him. You touch his arms gently stroking them softly with your thumbs.
“I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you,” He finally responds after a few moments and sighs, leaning his head back against the door. He takes one of your hands and squeezes it softly, intertwining your fingers.
“You didn't, I'm just worried about you,” You brought his hand up to kiss it softly. He closes his eyes for a minute before opening them.
“I'm just tired, tired of everything,” He lets go of your hand and slowly gets up “I need a cigarette” He walks over to his dresser pulling out the box.
“Vinnie,” you say with a warning as he pulls one out of the box and attempts to find a lighter.
“Don't start with me, y/n. I'm not in the mood,” He doesn't bother to look at you as he continues to search for the lighter.
“I promised your mom that I’d make sure you didn't smoke anymore,” you walked over to him annoyed and attempted to take the cigarette out of his mouth.
“You really think I care about the promise you made to my mom right now, y/n? I don't give a fuck,” He grabs your arms, slightly pushing them away. You frown at his reaction.
“Okay but I don't want you to do it,” you hold back tears as he tries to walk past you but you hold him. He doesn't say anything but attempts his best to avoid eye contact. He knew he was hurting you but he was hurting himself and the battle within him was strong.
“Stop,” you grab his face with both your hands using your thumbs to stroke his cheeks softly before using one hand to tuck some of his curls away “I know you're hurting right now, but-- but-- this isn't going to help,” you search his face for a moment as he still doesn't look at you, you take a moment before saying anything else “Take it out on me, let me make you feel good,” you say quietly waiting for him to say something, anything. His eyes linger for a moment before finally looking into yours causing your body to somewhat relax.
He still doesn't say a word, but moves his hand up to grab your neck slightly pulling you closer, his lips crashing onto your kissing you hungerly not wasting a second. He groans softly as you suck at his bottom lip sliding your tongue into his mouth. He moves his other hand deep into your hair, gripping it pulling you even closer to him, you can almost taste his pain. He bites at your bottom lip tugging at it before pulling away to take your hand leading you to the bed.
“Knees, now.” He says sternly as you nod and get down onto your knees looking up at him. He started to undo his jeans, pushing them down along with his tight boxers freeing his hardness. You bite the inside of your cheek in anticipation as he nods looking down at you giving you permission. He sits at the edge of the bed as you get closer in between his legs.
You take his dick in your hands stroking it, causing him to let out a soft groan before leaning in closer and slowly taking it into your mouth. His hand quickly finds its way deep into your hair once more grabbing it as he lets out another groan at the feeling. You begin to bob your head up and down his length, allowing your tongue to roam all over before pulling up and using it to gently lick his tip a few times.
“Fuck baby, so good” He moans gripping your hair tighter as he watches you work. Your mouth slides over his dick again, taking in as much as you can using your hands to stroke the rest.
“Be a good girl and take it all,” He groans and pushes your head further down on his cock causing you to slightly gag but you continue as tears form in your eyes. Your hand strokes his balls as your tongue proceeds to lick all over. You begin to feel his dick twitch in your mouth as you slightly hum sending vibrations along it.
“I'm so close baby, don't stop,” He moans softly, stroking your hair as you keep bobbing your head faster taking him all in as his tip hits the back of your throat. His hips buckle up as he grips your hair once more pulling your head back, you continue to stroke him as your mouth remains open, sticking your tongue out ready for his load. He shuts his eyes and lets out a loud grunt cumming into your mouth as you lick your lips and swallow.
“My good fucking girl,” He says in a husky tone and wipes off remaining cum from your lips with his thumb shoving it into your mouth, his eyes locked on yours as you suck it clean. His hand slides down to grab your neck again pulling you close.
“Open,” He says and without hesitation you open your mouth as he leans in to spit in it. You swallow as a slight grin appears on his face, he pulls you in kissing you hard.
“Such a good little slut for daddy huh?” You slightly bit your lower lip and nod.
“Do we think she deserves a reward?” His hand slides up to grab your jaw as you both don't break eye contact.
“Yes daddy,” you almost whine and nod once more. He studies you for a moment before nodding.
“Get up, lay down,” He pats at the edge of the bed, you do as he says and wait for him as he pulls off his tshirt leaving himself completely naked aside from his silver chains around his neck. You bit your lip at the view of him wanting him deep inside you. You press your thighs together but he's quick to push them apart, grabbing the edge of your shorts, pulling them down and throwing them off to the side.
“Those look so good on you,” He licks his lips at your black lace thong “But sadly they have to come off,” He rips them off tossing them as well.
“Vinnie I just b--!” you attempt to say but get cut off by his warning look shutting you up. He leans over moving his hand to your neck once more pulling you in to kiss you deeply as his other hand cups your pussy causing you to slightly moan into the kiss.
He slides two fingers in between your folds feeling your wetness and pulls away to groan softly against your lips.
“Look at you, so wet for me and I’ve barely touched you,” He rubs your clit causing you to moan once more as your back slightly arches off the bed. He slowly enters two fingers into you pumping them in and out at a steady pace.
“Vinnie,” you bit your lower lip moving your hand down to grip his.
“I want to taste you,” He said in a husky tone, getting down pushing your legs even more apart and replacing his thumb on your clit with his tongue sucking at it.
“Oh my-- don't stop” your hand moved to grip his hair pushing him further in, your eyes rolled back at the pleasure as his fingers continued to work in and out of you at a fast pace.
“Cum for daddy,” He whispered against your heat before letting his tongue trailed up and down causing your legs to shake. You felt your walls begin to clench around his fingers as he suddenly curled them hitting your g-spot,  you tried to push his head away from the overwhelming pleasure but he didn't budge.
“V-Vin, I'm about to cum” you moaned loudly gripping his curls harder as your climax took over. He slowly pulled his fingers out, licking them all over as he leaned back down to lick you clean. You groaned softly, closing your legs still sensitive from your over stimulation.
“Delicious,” He said quietly before leaning over kissing your lips softly. Your eyes fluttered tired from your high. Before you knew it you were flipped over on your stomach and he was behind you.
“Ass up baby,” He growled, giving your behind a hard slap, causing you to wince but you followed his orders quickly. You got on all four as he positioned himself behind you. One hand gripped your hip as the other slid up your back to the back of your neck pushing it down into the bed.
“I said ass,” He ordered once more as you nodded. Your cheek pressed to the bed sheets as you bit your lower lip nervous but also excited. You liked it when he played rough, but he was also in a bad mood today so you didn't know what to expect. Before you could even have another thought he slammed into you hard causing you to scream gripping the sheets next to you.
“Fuck, you’re so tight” He groaned at the feeling as he thrusted in and out of you at a fast and hard pace as his anger got the best out of him. It hurt but you tried your best to keep it together in hopes it would get better. Your teeth sunk harder into your bottom lip as your eyes shut feeling him deep inside you as he kept going with no remorse.
“Vin, slow down” You mumbled moving your hand behind you pushing him back a bit. He grabbed your hand and moved it down to press it above your head into the bed.
“Take it like the good little slut you are,” His voice husky as he leaned in to growl in your ear, holding your hand in place for a few moments before moving it in between the both of you to slowly rub your clit. His thrusts slowed down a bit but remained just as hard causing you to moan. He rubbed your clit harder as his other hand gripped tightly at your hip keeping a good rhythm going.
“Yes, yes right there,” you moaned loudly at the feeling as your eyes rolled back, your hips meeting his with every thrust. You could feel his dick in your stomach from how deep he was.
“There she is,” you could hear the smirk in his voice as he picked up his pace again. The room filled with skin slapping skin noises as he watched himself slide in and out of you. His hand on your hip slid up your back once more reaching your hair and grabbing it all together tugging at it. It hurt but in the best way. You could feel your climax coming as you turned into a moaning mess.
“You feel so good baby, I love the way your pussy feels around my dick,” He groaned as his words sent chills down your spine causing your legs to shake. He leaned his head back before lifting his leg up fucking into you hard from a different angle finding your g-spot once again.
“Holy shit, Vin,” you cried in pleasure as you felt your walls begin to clench around his dick. “I'm about to cum,”
“Hold it,” He demanded and kept going, wanting to climax at the same time. Your body was shaking uncontrollably as you gripped the sheets tighter. His hand on your clit not moving driving you insane.
“I'm close, don't you dare cum” He groaned as you felt his dick twitch inside of you, feeling like you were ready to explode.
“Vinnie,” you moaned loudly as he moved his hand shoving you into the bed getting in a few more thrusts.
“Cum baby,” He moaned, stiffening inside you as you immediately came all over his dick. You both rode out your highs as he slowly pulled out of you grabbing a towel to clean you up as you laid there tired and breathless.
After throwing the towel in his basket he walked back over to the bed as you turned over on your back grabbing a blanket to cover yourself. He laid next to you putting his arm around you pulling you to him as you both stayed silent for a few minutes.
“Was it too much for you?” He said quietly looking down at you as you hugged into his chest. He felt guilty for taking it out on you.
“No, im fine Vin” you nodded and looked up reassuring him. He gave you a slight smile kissing your forehead.
“I'm sorry about earlier,” He sighed, “I shouldn't have shoved you like that or said what I said,” He leaned his head back against the headboard.
“It's okay, I know you're having a rough time right now, I just wish you’d talk to me instead of shut me out,” you looked up at him and placed a hand on his cheek stroking it softly with your thumb, he leaned into it closing his eyes for a moment before nodding.
“I know, its stupid of me, I just get too deep into myself sometimes,” His eyes fluttered open as he reached for your hand placing his over it before taking it and kissing the inside of your palm.
“I love you, thank you for caring for me and still sticking around even though I can be a shit boyfriend,” He held your hand tightly.
“You don't need to say that and you are not a shit boyfriend Vin, I care because I love you and want you to be happy” you kissed his bare chest as he held onto you tightly.
“You make me happy, only you” He leans in to kiss you softly as you kiss him back smiling.

Title: Crush
Pairing: Corpse Husband x fem!youtuber!reader
Collab with: @the-winter-sxldier-posts
Requested by: @unicornblood4ever
Request: Hi I just saw your request post for Corpse, so if you're still taking requests I have one. The reader have been on a losing streak, and Corpse tries to help. But accidentally rats himself out as the second imposter. With fluff if possible, of course only if you have time to write and everything.
Word Count: 3963
Warnings: a little angts and fluff, i guess?
Note: The images doesn’t belong to me, all the credits go to the respective creators. I only made the collage. Also, I will not make anything to make Corpse uncomfortable, if he ends saying he doesn’t like fanfiction about him, I will delete this.
Part II: Here
                                                            ♦⋅☆⋅♦
Y/N sat down at her gaming setup, she was getting ready to start a stream she had been invited by her friend Felix (aka Pewdiepie) to play among us with him, and some other friends. She made sure everything was in order before starting it. She had been doing this for so long, but each time it felt like the first, and there was always that little chill in her belly indicating she was nervous.
She got onto her twitter quickly, just to let people know she was live in case they didn't get the notification about it.  As people started coming in, Y/N smiled at the camera. “Hey guys, welcome to the stream.” She read one of the comments from chat asking what she was gonna be playing on stream today.  “Today we are streaming some “Among Us’ with some friends, and I am getting to who they are before you guys spam it in chat. I’m going to be playing with Corpse, Sykkuno, Rae, Felix, Seán, Lily, Toast, Poki and Leslie.”
She joined the discord call, as the game loaded up. Y/N had her facecam in the middle on the bottom screen to make sure that she wouldn’t leak the code, once Felix sent it to the discord. Once the code was entered they were in the lobby and Y/N, went to the little mini computer in the game to customize her astronaut, and as always she was quick to pick the white colored one with the pink flower on her helmet. “Hey guys.” Y/N said to her friends in discord with a smile. Felix was the first to speak “Y/N finally you’re here!” She and everyone else laughed as he kept talking, excitedly. “We are still waiting for Corpse and Seán to join before we start, they’ll be here in a minute.” Everyone had said their hellos to Y/N as Seán joined the discord call and the game, followed shortly by Corpse. “Hey, Seán, Corpse.” “Hey, Y/N.” “Whaddup baby.” They both said at the same time making everyone laugh once more, as they all had their characters customized. Y/N’s face turned a few shades of red at what Corpse had said, and her chat was quick to pick up on it. “That is everyone, we are starting the game now.” She muted her mic after Felix had started the game and the black screen with the red astronaut, said shhhhh. Then her screen read ‘Crewmate, there are 2 imposters among us.’
She blew out a breath talking to the chat. “At least we can warm up as a crewmate this round.”
But…
It didn't take much longer for her to get killed, which made her swear. She knew she couldn't trust Felix but she did anyway, and he literally stabbed her in the back… What a traitor.
                                                             ♦⋅☆⋅♦
The time passed faster than it should have, or at least that’s what it seemed to the group of friends who were just having fun.
Y/N had now been streaming for an hour, and she was on a major losing streak. She either got crewmate, or voted out first as imposter because she was a bad liar. Or when that didn't happen, she was one of the first ones to be killed, and had to spend the entire game floating from one side of the ship to the other as a little white ghost, completing tasks for her team to win. To be honest, she was already a little irritated about that. They were now in the lobby talking to each other while waiting to start the next game. Y/N's nostrils were flared with frustration after another round of failure at being an imposter. She sighed, unmuting her mic."I just wanted to say that in all of these rounds I must have played a full 8 seconds! Like come on, what's wrong with me today!?"
That phrase was enough to make the others burst out laughing, including her chat. The comments came and went so fast, sliding on the screen on her right side, that she could barely keep up.
Sykkuno, like the blessed and pure angel he was, replied amid laughter: "Don't worry, you're just on a bad streak. Better luck next time."
"Yeah, I guess." She answered while moving her mini white astronaut in circles, being quickly accompanied by the black astronaut with horns on his helmet. Y/N smiled at that.
"Stop talking guys, I'll start the new round now." Pewds, who was the host, almost screamed at them.
Y/N cracked her neck and her fingers preparing herself.
"Stay with me this time Y/N, and I'll protect you." A deep voice was heard through her headphones, causing a shiver to go all the way down her spine.
"Oh!" She exclaimed surprised, looking at her chat that was going insane with everyone saying how cute that was. "Thank you, Corpse, let's do that."
"No problem." She could hear the smile in his voice.
The game was started and the black screen with the red astronaut, said shhhhh. Then her screen read IMPOSTER.
Y/N quickly muted her mic, as soon as she stopped listening to her friends speak. "Okay, I wasn't expecting that." She commented to her chat, very surprised, because next to her doll was Corpse's own little character. "Well, maybe my luck is changing. Everyone heard that Corpse and I were going to be together, so at least now we have an alibi if anyone suspects us." Corpse danced around Y/N, suggesting she follow him, and immediately she did. They both went through the ship as he was looking for innocent astronauts for them to murder. They ended up in medbay first, where Y/N faked her samples task, with Corpse watching over her and making sure that no one would find their behavior suspicious.
And, oh, how her luck seemed to have increased when Felix walked in. Y/N immediately pulled up the sabotage map and locked the medbay doors, and Corpse was quick to kill him. That made the girl laugh hard, yelling out loud. "That was just karma having its way!"
Then both vented out as the doors were still locked.
Y/N smiled talking to the chat. “Pewds is dead, next if the opportunity arises we need to get Seán. They are the two that always sus me out even when I’m a crewmate.” She went back to the game as they vented into electrical, since nobody was there presently. They both faked tasks in electrical, Y/N going first with Corpse watching her back. To her surprise, Seán walked in all alone and right as she was going to get her first kill, when Felix’s body was reported. She rolled her eyes. “Damn, so close to getting them both.” She said to her fans as she unmuted the mic, and saw that Rae was the one that found Pewds.
“Where is the body?” Y/N questioned trying to keep her voice level and calm, to not give herself away. “Pewds is dead in medbay.” Was the answer she got from the other girl. “Y/N and I were in Electrical with Seán.” Corpse said, trying to immediately shift suspicion off of the two of them. “They were already there when I entered the room, however. I don't know where they came from before, though."
"We came in through storage, after Y/N and I both did the trash chute, Y/N stopped at the gas can and then we came to the electrical to do our tasks."
Y/N quickly muted herself. "God, Corpse is gonna carry us this round, I can already feel it…I just want one kill and that is Seán, Corpse can kill everyone else... I just want to kill Seán!" She unmuted again as the friends decided that they didn't have enough information to vote anyone, so they skipped and no one was ejected.
Corpse danced around again for Y/N to follow him and she did. This time they went through weapons. Y/N faked the task against the wall while Corpse faked one as well. Y/N brought up the sabotage map while they waited on the kill cool down to end.
Y/N  sabotaged the lights, and the two imposters ran over there to turn them on as a way not to give anything that made them suspicious.
"Kill someone, don't wait for Corpse." Y/N read the comments, confused. "I don't know guys, are you sure? Today I haven't won any games as an imposter, so I don't want to give any reasons to make my team lose.” Looking back at the screen of the computer, she smiled seeing that the two little astronauts were touching each other, eye to eye, in what would probably be a strange little kiss. "Awww guys, look! Corpse just kissed me, this is too cute to handle."
But there was something that the fans did not fail to notice, and were quick to tell her that.
                                           User: She's blushing!
User: This is so cute, I'm dying.
User: UGH, I ship them together so much!
"Oh, shut up y’all." She said with her face on fire, clearing her throat trying to make her voice normal again. However, the pink tone that painted her cheeks did not want to disappear, getting worse and worse as she thought about it. “Okay, as much as I don't like it, I'm going to do what you said. I’m sorry, Corpse." And then she quickly ran away, going to another path separated from Corpse, looking for someone alone that she could kill.
Hopefully it would be Seán.Y/n would be the first to agree that she was a little obsessed with getting her revenge. But could you blame her? Seán and Felix were almost always the reason she got voted out or killed first.
She went around the map, and on the navigation she found Lily alone. "Oh oh, poor Lily, but I need to do this." She was quick to press the button, kill and enter the vent, leaving Lily's body cut in half behind.
"Quickly, I need to find someone to be my alibi! Where's Corpse?" She came out of a different vent, running and seeing Rae nearby, quickly joining her. It didn't take long before someone reported the body. "Oh no, I'm sweating already."
“Lily’s body was in navigation.” Leslie said.
“And Toast is dead too, so it was a double kill this round.”
"Where have you been, Leslie?" Corpse asked with such a deep and calm voice that if Y/N were not the other imposter, she would think he was innocent. “I was with Sykkuno in security, looking at the cameras.”
“Yes, I was with him.” The mentioned boy said.
“Well, I was with Poki in medbay but I needed to do the asteroids in weapons. So, when I finished in weapons  I went down, and found the body." Leslie replied.
"That seems a little sus to me, to be honest."
"Yeah, seems pretty sus to me too." Y/N repeated after Corpse, trying to help.
"Okay, wait a minute." Rae began, suspiciously. "I was with Y/N for a while because we met in storage, but she came from the right side of the map, I saw it."
"Explain yourself, Y/N."
'Oh no. Busted.' Thought the girl nervously looking at the camera. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself, and replied as calmly as she could: "Well, yes it's true, but I was in comms uploading. When I finished I left and that's when I found Rae in storage."
"It's her!" Seán accused.
"Definitely."
"What!?" Y/N asked shocked. "No, I'm not the imposter guys, I swear!"
"Y/N, stop, it makes perfect sense. I'm voting." She rolled her eyes, that is exactly why she wanted to kill Seán.
It was then that Corpse interrupted: "It couldn't have been her, she was with me."
'What?' Y/N asked herself, 'No, I wasn’t. What is he doing?'
"But... You said you were with Sykkuno."
"I... Yeah, but before that I was with her in Comms, but I left to go to the Security."
"And what path did you take?" Rae questioned.
"I went through storage, then electrical and I went up."
"That’s impossible because I went down the left side, and went through electrical and I didn't see you."
"They’re both the imposters, oh my god." Was Seáns revelation.
"No, we are not. What he said is true!" Y/N tried to defend.
"I'm going to vote Corpse this time just for his audacity!" Rae exclaimed excitedly. "Then we vote for Y/N!"
"What!?" Corpse said shocked. "No...!"
But it was too late, and quickly his little bean body flew off the ship. ‘Corpse was ejected.’
The girl could do nothing more than gawk at the computer screen, still shocked by what had happened. "No!" She said when she muted the microphone. "The game is already lost. What can I do?" She questioned, guilty.
                                           User: Noooo! Poor Corpse.
User: He was defending her :(
User: It's her fault that they found out he was the other imposter.
Guilt weighed on Y/N's heart and she felt saddened. Why did she have to ruin everything? "I know, I'll apologize to him when I can." She whispered to the chat, quietly, running around with her character confusedly. "What do I do now? Do I kill someone or do I play innocent?"
But at that time a meeting was called by Seán who was camped by the emergency button, and everyone got together to speak.
"Yes?"
"Well, we already know who the other imposter is. Are we going to vote her out or not?" He said laughing.
"Guys, please don't, it’s not me."
"Sorry Y/N, but you're the only one sus right now."
"What about Leslie?” Y/N tried. “She left Poki in medbay, she could have gone to navigation, killed Lily, self-reported and said she was in weapons!"
"No, don't believe her!" Leslie shouted. “She’s lying.”
"I know it's Y/N, I'm going to vote for her!"
And one by one everyone voted, and the game was over.
"Good job guys, we did it." The others celebrated while the girl almost pouted.
"What happened, Corpse? I’ve never seen you like that, well, playing so badly I mean." Sykkuno questioned his friend timidly.
There was silence from Corpse for a moment, before he simply said. "I don’t know.”
Swallowing hard, Y/N spoke softly. "Corpse?"
"Yeah?"
"I'm sorry."
"Ehh, don't be. That's alright."
But that was not enough to erase her guilt. "You know Seán this is exactly why I was gonna kill you in the electrical, before Rae found Felix's body. You always sus me out even when I’m  innocent."
“But you were the imposter this time!”
After a new game where she quickly died (Seán was the one who broke her neck and left her body in admin), the girl was quick to open Discord and send a message to the deep-voiced boy, who as much - as she didn't want to admit it, even more to herself - was her crush.
Y/N:     I’m so sorry I got you voted out, honestly, I feel so bad about it. I’m such a bad imposter.
CORPSE:             Y/N, It’s fine, really. There’s no need for you to feel bad about it .
This put a smile on the girl's face again, and her chat was quick to question what was going on. She shrugged her shoulders and gave no further answer, Y/N returned to concentrating on the game, with the corner of her lips lifted in a half smile that she couldn’t control.
                                                           ♦⋅☆⋅♦
Time quickly passed full of fun for the ten friends, and the thousands of people who watched them. Y/N didn't win any of the rounds, but she didn't care about it anymore. After another hour  of playing she decided to say goodbye and finish the stream, feeling the tiredness dominating her. She ate something and took a long and relaxing bath, which eased her aching muscles, and was already in her fluffy blue pajama pants, and was getting ready to go to bed when her phone rang.
Picking it up from the nightstand, she looked at the screen and gasped in surprise seeing who was facetiming her. A shiver ran down her spine. Shaking from head to toe, with her heart pounding, she quickly ran her hand through her hair making sure she was at least minimally presentable, before she answered it, saying nervously, "Hey, Corpse, is everything okay?"
The screen came to life, with her tiny image in the corner and the completely black screen dominating it. Of course he wouldn't turn on the camera, nor did she want him to do it if he didn't feel comfortable. It was already surprising that he actually called, since he has never done that before, and that was what made her even more nervous.
"I just wanted to check on you."  His voice came through the phone.
That made her face heat up a little. She was thankful that the only light she had on was the lamp on her nightstand and he couldn’t see how red her face got.
"Cute pajamas by the way." He said while laughing a little bit, provoking her.
"Well, I would say the same thing, but I can't see anything."  Y/N provoked back.
There was a comfortable silence after that, a silence that the two of them seemed afraid to try to break. The girl laid down on her bed, curled up under her warm sheets, and looked at the black screen kindly, with her head resting on the pillow.
"So-"
"I-" They both said at the same time, and immediately stopped talking when they realized that. “Go ahead-” “You first-”  they once again said at the exact same time.
Y/N tried to speak. She really tried. She was so prepared to tell him the truth, to tell him how much she was into him, that she was in fact in love with him… She was prepared to say that meeting him, and having him in her life for the past few months was one of the best things that ever happened to her. Y/N was determined to speak, but when she tried, nothing came out.  She stood there, opening and closing her mouth, sighing with a frown on her face.
"What's up?" Corpse asked seeing that, with concern in his voice.
"Nothing."
"Y/N, you know you can tell me anything."
"I know that." And she really did, Corpse was a good friend, an excellent friend who was always there for her... And that was exactly what she was afraid to ruin with her confession. "You are able to make me so nervous sometimes, even when I think I'm feeling brave."
"Oh, yeah?" He asked, and she could practically see his smile, even though she has never actually seen it. She was in love with a faceless man and she had no idea how to tell him that.
"Oh, shut up."
He laughed deeply for a long time, and that was enough to make her smile. Finally he stopped and said quietly, almost timidly. "I think what you wanted to say is exactly what I want to tell you."
Impossible, Y/N thought with a sad smile on her lips. I want to tell you how much I love you but… how could I? And who could ever love me?
"No, believe me, it isn't." “And how do you know it isn’t?” Y/N bit her lip a little unsure of how to answer him without revealing her feelings for him. “I-” But she cuts herself off, not having the courage to actually say the words. She pressed her face into the pillow to muffle the groan that came out of her mouth, at how much a coward she was being, but she mumbled out her response that was still muffled. “I just know.”
“What was that?” All he had heard were incoherent sounds.. She sighed, removing her face from the pillow not wanting to repeat what she had said, to save herself the rejection, since he couldn’t possibly feel the same way that she did about him.
“Are you really not going to tell me?” His voice broke through her thoughts. She sighed, trying to get away from the internal battle going on in her mind. “Y/N?” He spoke once again, breaking her out of her thoughts.
“If I say it... everything is gonna be ruined and weird for us, and I don’t want that. Your friendship is so important to me, you're my best friend.” She ran a hand down her face, furious with herself. “How do you know that, if you don’t say it?”
“Because I just do, okay?” Why couldn't he just let it go? "I-" She tried to say it out loud, once more. C'mon Y/N, just say it. "I gotta go!" She said quickly tried to end the call, but he wouldn't let her.
"No!" He screamed out sharply, taking her by surprise and then he did something she never thought he would do.
The screen, which was previously completely dark, lit up and his face finally appeared for the girl who loved him to see. Y/N sighed in shock, admiring all his features, from his ivory-white skin to his dark curly hair.
"I have a crush on you too." He confessed quietly, with a soft pink tinge appearing on his cheeks.
Did he just...? Oh my god!
There was silence again, but this time it was a silence that had become tense and terrifying for both of them. Corpse was nervous waiting for her to say something, and she could tell. His mouth was pressed in a thin line, he didn't seem able to face her as his gaze traveled anywhere but to her, and he fidgeted immensely, touching everything within reach from the rings - that she saw he had on his fingers - to the chain necklace he had around his neck.
"Oh." She sighed softly, not knowing what to say.
He looked at her then, apprehensive and almost ashamed. "Ugly, I know."
"No!" Y/N was quick to interrupt. "You are incredibly handsome just… just as I always imagined." The girl managed to see a small smile appear on his lips as he blushed deeply.
"I..."
"I’m in love with you too." She confessed, finally without fear. It felt like weight lifted off her to finally get it out in the open between the two of them.
Corpse’s eyes went wide, completely shocked but so, so happy. A huge smile full of shiny teeth on his face, as he focused all of his attention on Y/N. "You are?"
"Yes." She said blushing and smiling intensely as she snuggled up in the blankets, her face almost hidden when she looked at him dreamily.
"I-" He cleared his throat. "Good."
"Good."
"Great."
"Great!"
They burst out laughing, their voices mixing in hamornia. The two looked each other in the eye, separated by a mobile phone screen, separated by kilometers and kilometers... but even with everything that separated them, the world was not able to stop them from falling in love with each other.
"What do we do now?" He questioned.
"Well..." Y/N started. "We'll have to see, won't we? Why don't you start by giving me your address?"
Corpse smiled provocatively, his beautiful eyes shining maliciously. "Of course... But be careful now baby, the devil’s got his eyes on you."
Y/N laughed completely in love.
"Oh, shut up."

strangers - steve rogers x reader
Tumblr media
Warnings: mentions of sexual harassment and non-consensual touching, swearing.
Word count: 4870
Pairing: Steve Rogers x Reader
Summary: When your subway ride home takes a turn for the worst, you hope a stranger in a coffee shop will help you out.
Notes: If you saw a snippet of this the other day, here’s the full thing! I wanted to tackle some ‘in need of saving’ tropes and this just sort of happened. I’ve never posted straight up on Tumblr before but I’m a bit lacking in my experience with reader fics, so I figured this was a good place to share it. no beta, any mistakes are my own! If you like it, let me know - thanks for reading!
Steve Rogers liked his days off. Not that he had a set schedule week to week anyway but when things aligned correctly, he could do whatever he wanted. No world saving, no training, no report writing, no meetings.
He had scoped out a small little coffee shop in Brooklyn where he liked to spend these quiet afternoons. Usually with a book in hand (he had so many books to catch up on) or some music loaded to his phone (Nat was currently educating him on 90s punk rock) or a notebook and pencil. People watching served as wonderful inspiration to sketch.
He sipped his cappuccino, eyes tipped downward at the book ahead of him on the table. He was interrupted just moments later as someone dropped into the chair across from him.
Now, Steve wasn’t intentionally hiding out at this hole-in-the-wall cafe. But he did put on his laughable disguise still - a beaten up Yankees cap and his prescription-less thick framed glasses. He liked the anonymity. That didn’t always stop people from recognizing him.
As he opened his mouth to question the person who was suddenly joining him for coffee, she slid her phone across the table to him. Her hand shook. His eyebrows flexed into a curious frown as he looked at the screen displaying a plainly typed note:
‘Do you mind if I sit someone is following me home sorry to disturb you’
As if your day hadn’t been absolutely terrible enough, you spotted the gremlin of a man on the subway watching you again. You knew he worked somewhere in the same office building as you because he always trailed a few paces behind you when pushing through the revolving doors in the lobby. It wasn’t uncommon to see the same people on the same subway line at the same time every day, but this man’s presence had become an unwanted downside.
He was always there. Worse than that, he seemed to be always watching you. Today, it was even more obvious that he was following you.
When that thought first occurred to you, it had been really easy to shrug off. He was just a guy taking the subway. But when he happened to be on the later train with you one day, an uncomfortable feeling settled in your stomach.
And now, as the car was filling up even more after the second stop in DUMBO, he had moved to stand and put himself even closer to you.
You had been going through so many Next Steps. God, that phrase was the bane of your existence. Next steps, next steps..
Maybe you could tell him to fuck off. You could make an appointment with Leanna in HR and see if there is a way to figure out the name of this guy - though he didn’t work for your company so that was likely going to be a dead end. You could start taking the bus to the village before grabbing the train. Maybe you could Uber home some days instead of taking the subway. Not that you could afford that but this guy was..
You stiffened immediately.
This guy was touching you. In the midst of the crowded subway car, he was pressed against you entirely. And was he.. His hips were moving against your leg and.. Wait, that was two hands on your hips now.. Hot breath whispered against your neck and -
Fuck.
You threw yourself through the mob as the train came to a stop. With hurried feet you ran onto the platform and up the stairs, doing your best to weave through the flow of people, like a fish trying to make it upstream. You tried not to be obvious but as you snapped your head over your shoulders to look back, you saw him there again.
He was smirking. No, snarling.
Next steps, next steps.
You joined a sea of people crossing the street, taking your first left to try and steer yourself into a particular direction. You were still a far walk from your apartment but with this man on your heels, you didn’t want to lead him anywhere near there.
You grabbed your phone from your jacket pocket, unlocking it quickly and scrolling through the contacts. Surely there had to be someone you could call but even then, what could they do? Offer advice?
It didn’t occur to you until then but would it be valuable to call the cops?
Despite the late day sunlight, you suddenly felt very aware of the emptiness of the sidewalk on that side street. You needed to be around people. It definitely wasn’t logical to be anywhere near alone with this guy and -
It sounded like his footsteps were getting closer. With a panicked gulp, you yanked on the door of a little hole-in-the-wall cafe. Your eyes scanned the space quickly once you were inside. You probably shouldn’t sit alone, you couldn’t run to the bathroom if you aren’t sure where it is or if you needed a key. There were too many variables.
You needed something. Next steps..
You spotted someone sitting at a small table near the window and without thinking, you sent out a silent prayer to whoever might be listening and you rushed over. The man was clearly alone, a half consumed ceramic mug of coffee sitting to the right of his book.
Swallowing hard, you quickly typed on your phone and slid it across the table to him after you sat. You tried your best to stay very calm and hoped that he would play along. God, what if he didn’t play along and -
Behind you, the door chimed once more and you desperately wanted to see if it was that man - if the gremlin had followed you inside. You clasped your hands together in your lap and forced a smile on as you looked at the stranger sitting across from you.
Despite not knowing him, there was a familiarity about his appearance. Behind his thick glasses, soft blue eyes searched you carefully. His eyes flicked to the screen once more, stiffening in his chair as he looked past you towards the rest of the cafe.
With his right hand, he reached into the inside pocket of his coat and took out a small notebook and a pen. He scribbled something quickly and turned the page towards you.
Are you hurt?
You shook your head quickly. He offered you a tight smile and wrote once more.
Buzzcut, grey jacket?
Your eyes blew open wide and you tilted your head into a nod.
I’m Steve
He flipped the notebook closed and extended his hand across the table, palm facing up. He leaned forward just slightly, meeting your eyes with a reassuring smile. “Play along.”
Your eyes flicked to his hand and you slowly unclamped your own, grabbing his on the table instead. He was doing an impressive job splitting his attention between you and his surroundings, eyes scanning the room. He squeezed your hand very gently, brushing his thumb against your knuckles.
“Tell me about your day.”
You sucked in a hard breath. You weren’t entirely sure what his strategy was but something told you this guy was in your corner. Though despite that, you could feel another set of eyes on you.
“Uh,” you started quietly, letting the air escape your lungs. “Surprisingly, I didn’t think it could get worse before I got on the subway after work. I had a review meeting that was not great and we had a free catered lunch that was not vegetarian friendly. Missed an important email and deadline and… well, here I am whining about it and interrupting your day. Listen, I’m going to-
You moved to stand up but Steve shook his head, grasping your hand. “Give it a few more minutes, I think he’ll give up and leave.”
His words were casual but had an authoritative tone. Once more his eyes left you, looking towards the front of the cafe. He raised his free hand and motioned to one of the baristas. You weren’t certain if this was the type of place who served people at their seats but clearly he had a comfortable rapport as the young girl approached with a warm smile on her face.
“Hey Tia, could I get another?”
“Anything for you?” The barista turned her head as she asked, pony tail moving from side to side.
“Uhm.” You paused and thought. You certainly had no desire to even consider a coffee order when you felt someone’s linger gaze boring into you. “A decaf con panna, if that’s possible.” The girl confirmed it was with a nod then left the table side.
“Con panna?” Steve’s lips pulled into a curious smirk. Something about his smile calmed you.
“Espresso with whipped cream on top,” you answered. “Short and sweet.”
“I’ll have to try that next time.”
Steve sure had a soothing smile. When his thumb stopped tracing against your palm - when did that even start? - you felt an empty sadness about the loss. Wow, what did that even say about your standards when a stranger was brushing his thumb against your hand that you were so grateful for? Well, it was a thousand times better than someone rubbing his -
You winced at the memory, biting down as you clutched your bottom lip between your teeth. Though that shameful feeling hadn’t disappeared, you managed to keep it at bay. But now, it seemed to have left an image you were unable to blink away.
The sweet smell of whipped cream and the shuffling of paper cups broke you from your trance. You reached for your bag to fish out a few dollars but when you looked up, Steve was waving a hand to stop you.
It’s not that you didn’t appreciate his kindness. You did. You really, really did. But given the last half hour, you still had a hard time settling your nervous mind.
“Thanks, Tia.” Steve’s eyes were jumping around the place as the barista grabbed the cash he offered. A loud stomp of footsteps drew their attention as the Subway Gremlin saddled up beside the table.
“Sorry to be a bother, darlin’ - any chance I can borrow your phone?”
You couldn’t help but look at him. Though his words were directed at the barista, he made a point to glance over at you.
You felt Steve’s hands grip yours. When you looked towards him, his eyes were very carefully watching the man. How did he manage to -
“Sorry, we don’t have a dedicated line available to customers.” Tia politely shook her head, pointing towards the door. “There’s a CityBank up the street that can help you, I’m sure.” She shrugged and headed back to the coffee counter.
The man stood still, opening his mouth to argue.
Steve sat back, shoulders broad and steady. “Did you need directions there? I think it’s just two blocks. Maybe 500 paces.” His tone was flat. “Just out the door and you’ll be on your way.”
You kept your eyes on Steve. He kept his stare directed at the man. Finally, after what felt like hours of waiting, the man moved his feet. He turned on his heel, though not before stopping to look at you again.
“I will see you tomorrow, dar-
Steve released your hand and pushed his chair back, standing quickly and grasping the man’s shoulder.
Steve towered over him. “You have five seconds.” The man pulled away from Steve’s grip then finally stomped away. You kept your eyes tightly shut until you heard the chime of the bell indicating the movement of the door. Then, you collapsed onto your arms on the edge of the table.
Steve, meanwhile, headed to the door and kept watch for a few more moments to ensure the man actually departed from the area. Then, he stopped at the counter and exchanged a few words with Tia before returning you.
You were still doing your best to encourage the floor to open up and swallow you whole. How had this even escalated? The worst part was your mind seemed clouded with doubt. This man, you hadn’t even interacted with him before. Why was he suddenly so invested in you? To a point where he might follow you home? Were you just another target or had this been intentional?
You considered yourself a fairly observant person and yet..
You twisted your hands together in your lap and tried to consider what was going to happen now. Next steps, next steps..
“Hey.” Steve returned to his chair. Your eyes flicked up towards him, noticing he was sliding a bottle of water towards you. Your sad little espresso and whipped cream treat was deflated next to it. “Are you okay?”
You reached for the water bottle, twisting the cap open and taking a long drink. “I don’t know.” Chewing on your bottom lip, you shook your head. “No, actually. I’m not. It somehow feels like my skin is on fire and my lungs are failing me and I’m sweaty but I’m not and - and -
“Hey, hey. Look at me.” Steve spoke so calmly and evenly. “Just take a slow breath with me, okay?” You closed your eyes once more and followed his instructions as he walked you through a few breathing exercises. “That’s great, you’re doing great-
When he stopped speaking so quickly, you opened one eye to look over at him. His cheeks were a warm shade of pink and his mouth was twisted into a frown. “What?”
“It just occurred to me I didn’t get your name.” He paused, as if to consider his next thought. “Although, given what just happened with that man, you are under no obligation to tell me anything about yourself. I just.. I’d like to help.”
His genuine concern for you was surprising. You allowed a small smile to stretch across your face. “You’re very nice, Steve.”
You gave him your name and he smiled back, repeating it to himself. “It’s nice to meet you.”
Your smile turned downwards when you looked towards your phone. “I should probably get going. Again, I’m really sorry for dragging you into this mess but I appreciate the… solace.” You took a deep breath and pushed your chair back, pausing to tip the lukewarm espresso into your mouth. “I owe you one.”
You winced when you heard yourself and sighed. Why did you say that? This stranger, this friendly, broad shouldered, tall, handsome stranger who’s day you interrupted, did not need your weird backhanded flirting. In fact, even though every signal in your brain seemed on edge after, well, everything, the only thing that seemed to ground you now was the kindness of Steve. So you tried to will yourself not to ruin it with any additional commentary.
You weren’t entirely sure what had driven you down this particular street into this particular cafe and towards this particular man. But, you were certainly grateful. “Actually, do they have gift cards here? I’d love to buy you one to say thank you and -
“Are you going to walk? Wherever you’re going right now?” When you looked over, you saw that Steve had stood, too. You saw his eyes move towards the door and the far windows up the street where the man from the subway had gone. “I don’t want to overstep but I hope you’ll let me walk you home. Or far enough away to have cleared his radar.”
“I feel like I’ve already wasted enough of your time, Steve.” You truly felt worse and worse for interrupting his afternoon.
“Please, I insist.” Steve tilted his head, half a smirk on his lips. “You just said you owe me one, so. I’m cashing in the favour.”
“The favour repayment you’re cashing in is.. you doing me another favour? Do you know how favours are supposed to work?” Admittedly, you knew you would feel a lot safer having someone walk home with you. And something about Steve made you feel very secure, his presence like a comforting shield.
“C’mon,” Steve replied with a laugh, nudging his head towards the door.
When you stepped onto the sidewalk, you stopped to think. “Let’s go this way.” You turned to the right and Steve followed, staying on your shoulder closest to the street. You walked in a comfortable silence - which made you nervous at first. Then, as your steps fell into a pattern, the quiet soothed you.
You pushed your hands into the pockets of your jacket as you turned down the next block. You looked over at Steve, who turned his head towards you as you shifted. “You didn’t ask anything else about the man.. Who followed me.”
A quiet hum came from Steve. “I didn’t think I should. You seemed shaken up enough.” He shrugged, peering down at you through his glasses. “If you want to talk about it..”
“I work in this big office building in Midtown. The Clifton building?”
Steve motioned his hand diagonally. “Little bagel place downstairs? That’s right down from The Avengers tower, isn’t it?”
You nodded along. Right. Stark Tower was The Avengers Tower, now. It was the most iconic landmark on that block. “Yes. Actually, I work on the 40th floor, which makes for a great angle to see Iron Man coming in.” Your smile was fleeting when you continued on. “It’s a huge building. I work in human resources for this pharmaceutical company.. But there’s a law firm in there, too. Insurance companies, start ups.. Hundreds of people in and out all day long. Yet, that man on the subway has managed to..” You stopped yourself before your chest got too tight. “Let’s just say I’ve seen him around before.”
“Do you know his name?”
“That’s the thing!” You couldn’t help but laugh now, shaking your head in dumbfounded confusion. “No. I have no idea who he is. But he often gets on the same subway line as me, watches me from across the crowd then today..” You stopped and dragged a hand down your face. “It’s a sad truth but I would say most of my friends have been.. Touched inappropriately on the subway before. I guess it’s a weird right of passage or something..”
“Wait - what?” Steve stopped in his tracks and reached his hand out to grab yours. You stopped and looked up at his eyes, somehow both soft and dark with concern. “He touched you? What do you mean?”
You raised an eyebrow, wondering if his ask was authentic. When you saw the disappointment in his face, eyes flooded with something you couldn’t quite pinpoint, you realized his reaction was genuine. You opened your mouth to explain but suddenly it seemed impossible to find the words.
Steve let go of your hand as he absorbed your lack of response and reached for his phone. “You can file a police report, right?”
“No, no.” You stopped him, placing your hand on his as he held his phone. “Trust me, that’s just paperwork that goes nowhere. Without the guy's name, absolutely nothing would come from it anyway.” You shook your head. “It’s fine, really. I might just adjust my work hours and change my route home for a few weeks. Maybe he’ll give up.”
Steve muttered something to himself, shaking his head. His face shifted from concern to something else, like his brain was working on a different trail of thoughts. He spoke your name quietly, drawing your attention to him again. “I’m sorry that happened to you.”
Steve’s kindness was a strange contrast to the entire experience on the subway. How one man could have such questionable intentions while another apologizes with sincerity for it was nearly jarring. Although, it did suddenly occur to you that Steve was just as much of a stranger.
“The worst part is.. men like that sever any opportunity for trust in other people. Especially blind trust. Like me telling you, a stranger, where I work and walking you to where I live. Funny enough though - every wire in my brain should be telling me not to and how it was a bad idea but.. I guess there is something about you.”
Steve sucked in a breath, eyes wide as he considered his response. “When you walked into the coffee shop, you could have asked the barista for help or tried to hide out in the bathroom. But you sat next to me instead. How come?”
“Honestly, I don’t know. Like I said, there's just something about you, Steve.”
You walked in silence again, feet falling into a pattern once more. The sky was growing darker, the air cooler. After crossing the street again, you looked at him. “How do you feel about Prezio being traded to the Orioles?” You reached out and tipped up the brim of his Yankees hat. “A tragedy, right?”
A quiet laugh escaped him as he tipped his head. “I think it was a huge mistake. Don’t you think we’ve had a hard enough year as it is?” Your silence was filled with baseball talk instead and it seemed to put both of you at ease.
“This is me.” You stopped outside of a short apartment complex, pointing a thumb to the door.
Steve smiled, one hand in the pocket of his jacket as he studied you. Was this it? After the wild rollercoaster of emotions you had spilled onto him in the last hour, parting with nothing else seemed empty. Lacking. He opened his mouth and closed it, once then twice.
Finally, you cut in. “Thanks again, Steve. Really. If you hadn’t played along and scared him away.. well, I’m not sure where I would be right now. It means a lot that you cared enough about a stranger to make sure I was safe.”
Steve sighed out your name. “I’m sorry your barometer for kindness is so low.”
You sighed. “Yeah, me too.” Part of you wanted to do something. Say something else. Linger a tiny bit longer. But your feet shuffled and your hand reached for the door. “Have a good night, Steve.”
“I need a favour.”
“Well, good morning to you, sunshine. Did you lock yourself out of your computer again? FRIDAY can help with that.”
“Tony, this is serious.”
“Okay, okay. I recognize that scowl. How can I help you?”
“If I provided you some video footage from a security camera, can we track someone down? Figure out who they are? For full transparency, it’s just a civilian.”
“Sounds like we’re operating outside of the law, Rogers. Can you provide me with more context? I don’t mind the grey area - I just like the drama, too.”
Steve sighed, then reluctantly explained himself. The cafe. Your panicked message. The stalker of a man. The way you dismissed it all as a normal, unfortunate side effect of existing as a woman. His barista friend provided him with camera footage but he wasn’t sure it was enough.
Tony pinched between his eyes. “Men are scum. And I say that as someone in the practice of trying to be better. Recovering scum, if you will. I’ll see what I can do. FRIDAY, how quietly can we get into the security database at the Clifton building?”
Although you hadn’t lied to Steve, it occurred to you on your journey home that your guard should remain up. Which is why you had actually allowed him to walk you to your aunt’s apartment, instead of your own. She was happy to see you burst through the door and insisted you stay for dinner. That was a tiny silver lining to the whole mess.
The next day though, the thought of going into work was suffocating. So you opted to spend the day working from home instead, which your boss had been agreeable to, at least. One day rolled into two and you successfully avoided the office building until the following Monday. But then, you needed a plan. Next steps, next steps.
You took an Uber to the office early and left late at the end of the day, leaving out the back stairway and crossing a few blocks to take a different subway line home. It was unfortunate you had to cater your life to the chance you would run into this goon again, but your sense of security was slowly returning. That had to count for something.
Things shifted later that week. There was a sudden new policy sent out to all the staff in your office outlining new building ownership and training about sexual harassment policies.
“It’s a long time coming,” you heard someone mutter out in the elevator as you headed down towards the lobby.
“Guess Tony Stark just wants to own the whole block,” their coworker chirped back, pulling to loosen his tie.
There was even more commotion when you exited the elevator and walked towards the large glass doors. A team of NYPD officers were standing outside, shoving someone in the back of their cruiser. Your eyes narrowed. You couldn’t be certain but from that angle, you certainly recognized the bad buzzcut. Your eyes darted around the lobby anxiously and across the room, a small crowd of suits and officers had formed near..
Tony Stark, himself.
Before you could even try to understand what was going on, you heard someone calling your name. You turned your head and saw someone who looked a lot like -
“Steve?” You took a few steps towards him, pausing to glance from him back at Tony Stark and.. “Oh my god. You’re Steve Rogers. Why didn’t you say something?”
Captain America had walked you home. Hidden behind glasses and a hat. And you always considered yourself observant.
Steve just smirked, shrugging a shoulder. “I didn’t think it was important.”
You couldn’t help but smile. “Should I be thanking you for all of this chaos?”
Steve furrowed his brow in mock confusion. “What do you mean?”
“I mean, maybe I’m extrapolating here but the same day my subway stalker gets taken away in cuffs, Stark Industries buys out this building and mandates a new policy and code of conduct.”
Steve pursed his lips, swallowing back a mischievous smirk. “Here’s the thing. It occurred to me that your best choice of action after that day was changing your entire life to avoid that man. And I couldn’t help but think about how broken that system was.”
You sighed. It had occurred to you, too. While you were relieved to shake the man from your trail, your mind considered he would probably turn his attention to someone else. And that wouldn’t be fair.
“Well, Cap. Job well done. That scum of a man had priors in Jersey, too.” Tony Stark himself had walked to where you and Steve stood. His hand clapped on Steve’s shoulder. “You’re at least going to ask her out, right? I mean, I bought an entire building for you - make a move, pal.”
Steve flushed pink and you couldn’t help but do the same.
“I’m getting a bagel. You want a bagel?” Tony raised an eyebrow from you to Steve again, smiling proudly.
“I’m good. I recommend the poppy seed though!” You called as Tony flitted away, narrowly avoiding a proper looking blonde woman who seemed very tired.
You turned your attention back to Steve. “He seems like a lot.”
“He is.” Steve nodded, motioning his hand. “I know it’s only one thing, maybe a ripple in making a difference but.. I’m hoping one less inappropriate person on the subway can give you peace of mind.”
You smiled again. Though you had seen many appearances by Captain America on the news, seeing the man in person was different. It seemed Steve Rogers walked the walk. After parting ways with him before, though he had crossed your mind, you didn’t anticipate your menial issues leading to this.
“Thanks. Really. Even one person makes a difference.” You reached out and touched his arm. “Thank you, Steve.”
“I’m sorry about Tony, though. His comments about asking you out and.. that certainly wasn’t my goal here.”
“I don’t know. You just did me a huge favour getting rid of that gremlin. I think I owe you.”
Steve caught your cheeky smile and stood up a bit straighter. “Well, in that case, the Yankees are playing the Sox tomorrow night. Tony never uses his tickets and the seats aren’t half bad. What do you say?”
“You’re cashing in this favour to take me on a date? Usually people ask for help moving or a ride to the airport or something.” You let out a dramatic sigh. “Sure. I guess you can take me to the game, Steve. If you ask politely, I’ll probably even hold your hand.”
After work the next day, Steve met you outside and you took the subway together to the stadium. You knew this wasn’t the end of it for you or anyone else worried about their personal boundaries being crossed. But, as you gripped the subway pole and your fingers grazed against Steve’s, you could finally breathe again. For the first time in a while, you weren’t anticipating next steps.
It was just you and the kind stranger from the coffee shop.

Big Fun
Sam helps you feel better after you lose your temper.

Okay, outing myself a little here in the hopes that it’ll be a comfort to at least one other person. This happens…more often than I would like. I’m working on it.
This came about because of a discussion with @writingawaymylife thanks Aerin!
Read on Ao3
“Oh, for fuck’s sake, are you shitting me!”
You finally lose what little patience you had left and punch the wall. Underneath the cheap wallpaper it’s solid concrete and you instantly regret your feral outburst. There’s a millisecond of nothing before the pain comes rushing in, and then you’re bent double, clutching the wrist of your injured hand with the other and groaning.
You try and flex your fingers to check if they’re broken, but you can’t really tell. It’s too late. Your hand is numb within the minute. Shit, that’s really going to hurt in the morning.
You’re clumsy anyway, it’s the way it’s always been and the way it always will be. You know what you need to do, how you need to move, but your body won’t respond how you want it to. You’re always dropping plates and glasses, smashing them to bits. Usually when you’re already running late, and then you have to waste more time by scurrying around looking for a dustpan to get rid of the evidence.
You’re forever bumping into things, stubbing your toes and taking layers of skin off your shoulders and shins when you walk straight into doorframes. When you try and pour things you spill them more often than not. Yet more mess to clean up, yet more time wasted.
Your fingers just won’t work sometimes, often so badly it takes you multiple attempts to tie your shoes. And when it’s cold you’re practically useless. You just give up and tuck the laces into the shoes, feeling them rub through your socks, promising yourself to fix them once you’re back in the warm, everything will work out as long as you don’t trip over your own feet before you get there.
It’s the most frustrating thing in the world. Normally you can shrug it off, you’re used to it by now. But things had been going wrong all day, even without your clumsiness, and matters just came to a head.
You remember exactly what caused you to erupt into expletives and punch the wall. It had already been a frustrating day, work was a pain in the ass, as usual. All of the most awkward customers in the world had decided to descend upon you right before your break. By the time you got home you were in a pretty foul mood. Too wound up to relax, you decided to take a load of laundry downstairs to put in the washer.
You attempted to, anyway. After trying and failing 3 times to pick up the same damn sock from the floor of your room that your fingers just would not grasp, you’d given up and kicked it away under the bed in anger. Oh sure, couldn’t pick it up but you managed to land a furious kick the first time around.
Though you were trying your best to manoeuvre around the doorframe with the pile of clothes you still bumped off it with your shoulder, muttering ouch as the latch scraped your arm. Then you overcompensated by moving too much in the other direction and stubbed your toe on the corner of the door. Instant pain that made you see red.
The pile of clothes in your arms were promptly thrown on the floor in a fit of rage. That was when you punched the wall. And now you’re a sorry state, fingers throbbing and face red, trying not to scream.
Oh shit, you hear Sam moving around in his room down the hall. There’s no way he didn’t hear you. Well, this is embarrassing. There isn’t time to pick everything up and hightail it down the stairs before he catches you, not with your mangled claw out of action.
You hear his door creak open. You slowly turn around and stare guiltily at your roommate as he pokes his head around the doorframe.
“I heard…” He takes in the sight of the pile of laundry scattered on the floor and you holding up your tingling hand, still hopping from foot to foot. “Jeez, again?”
***
Sam is your friend Elena’s brother-in-law, or something like that. You aren’t clear on how exactly they’re related, but you knew her from college, long before she got married. She heard you were looking for a new roommate a few months back, and she got in touch, telling you she knew just the person.
You baulked initially when you got a phone call from her after sparse contact over the last few years. You were actually enjoying living by yourself again, though money was a bit tighter. Your last roommate was pleasant enough at first, however they soon turned out to be a nightmare, it was a relief to get rid of them. But you liked Elena a lot, and you did owe her one or two favours. For some reason she thought you and Sam would hit it off.
And much to your surprise, you did. You were a bit nervous of him to begin with, but Sam turned out to be so laid back he was almost horizontal. The perfect foil to your occasionally manic energy. Living with him was easy, there weren’t any awkward silences. If you were in the same room but didn’t feel like talking, he was fine with it.
Your apartment was pretty basic but he seemed happy there with you. He even made you dinner sometimes when you’d had a tough day and you’d just come in and flop face down on the sofa. Sam would wordlessly stand up and then half an hour later come back through to get you with the same phrase every time. “You gonna eat something, or what?”
Elena had reassured you he probably wouldn’t even be there a lot of the time. He just needed somewhere to touch base every few weeks, she turned out to be correct.
You didn’t even really know what Sam did. He didn’t appear to have a job, he was almost always home during the day and seemed to spend a lot of time on your Playstation (“our Playstation” according to Sam). But he came up with his half of the rent every month and then disappeared again for a few weeks. You didn’t ask, not your business. You’d started to find the house too quiet and empty when he wasn’t there and you were always waiting to hear the keys in the lock and his joking “Honey, I’m home!” whenever he came back.
After moving in it didn’t take him long to pick up on your quirks, or notice that you were more accident-prone than the average person. It had led to the only argument you’d ever had with him.
One time while making dinner you’d dropped a plate and cursed yourself as it cracked in half on the tiled floor. You’d stared daggers at him, daring him to say a word about it. You totally weren’t expecting what he did next.
He’d just looked at you dead in the eyes as he pushed another plate off the counter. Exactly like a cat would.
You blew up at him. “What in the hell did you do that for? Now there’s twice as many sharp bits to clear up!”
“It’s just a plate.” He had shrugged, leaning back on the counter.
“What’s your damn point?”
“That it really doesn’t matter, and that I don’t care that we’ve had to replace pretty much everything in this kitchen since I moved in.”
You narrow your eyes at him. “Not everything. You owe me a plate now.”
“You know, maybe we should invest in plastic ones.”
“We are adults Sam! And it’s not good for the environment.”
“And the current… situation is not good for your bank account!”
“Just because you’re used to plastic cutlery.” Kind of a cheap shot, but you’re still mad. You’d gathered he’d done jail time, but you didn’t dare ask what for, or how long. You caught him saying weird things sometimes and eventually realised it was because his concept of time was a little warped. He kept referring to the 90’s like it was only last week, instead of nearly 20 years ago.
Sam just laughed at your plastic cutlery comment, not at all offended. “Yeah, and I like living here so much I’m willing to do that if it means you’ll stop beating yourself up.”
“I’ll think about it.” You grumbled. But you got some plastic cups and plates on your way home from work the next day. Sam was right, it was a lot better, though it made you feel like a kid again.
As you’d gotten more comfortable with Sam you’d given up trying to hide the fact you were a walking health hazard and didn’t stifle your curses anymore.
At first he seemed amused by your clumsiness, he even laughed the first few times you did something stupid. But he quickly realised how upsetting your lack of control over your own limbs was for you, because it happened so damn often. He stopped making fun as soon as he noticed you couldn’t laugh it off with him. It wasn’t a joke to you. From then on he’d been surprisingly nice, he always attempted to make you feel better when it got too much.
***
Even so, right now as you were having a stand-off with him in the hallway, you gritted your teeth and tried to keep your voice even. Stay calm, he’s just concerned. “Yes, again.”
“What did it ever do to you? Y’know, standing there, being all wall-like…stopping our house from collapsing?”
“I lost my temper again. Punched the damn thing.”
He shook his head. “I’ve told you, you’ve got to look after those hands.”
“But they’re so fuc-“ You stop and sigh when he raises an eyebrow. Calm. “Flipping useless. I’m useless.”
“Not true.” Sam steps out of his room and walks in your direction. On the way he kicks a rogue sock back onto the main pile of mess on the floor. “Take that, you scoundrel.”
“I just wish my brain worked normally.”
“Your brain is fine. Your music taste on the other hand.” Sam moved his hand up and down in an ‘ehhhhhh’ motion and shook his head. “No no.”
He’s kidding, of course he is. Damn his sense of humour. But you don’t feel like smiling just yet. It still fucking hurts. “I think I broke something this time.” You really thumped the wall. You wouldn’t be surprised if you’ve actually done damage.
“You want me to check?”
“Please.”
You hold out your hand for him and he carefully wiggles and stretches your fingers one by one, watching your face for any reaction. You wince once he gets to your thumb. Oh, that one hurts the worst.
“No, thumb on the inside? For real?” Sam looked at you in disbelief.
“Apparently so.”
“That’ll learn you. That’s like rule number one of punching anything.”
You sigh. “Anything broken?”
“No, we’re all good. But keep your thumb on the outside next time or you really will break it.”
“Surprisingly, I wasn’t really focusing on technique that much. Oh hey, you should check this one again.” You hold your middle finger aloft.
“Very funny.” But he smirks at you, knowing he’s helping you feel better.
“Come on, you do that one to me all the time.”
“Learning from the best, what can I say? Oh, shit…” Sam’s staring past you.
“What, what’s wrong?” You glance back in the direction he’s looking.
Sam moves to the wall, right where you just punched and looks at you in faux-panic. “I need a medic!”
“Really?” You watch in amazement as he starts to do something to the wall which looks an awful lot like the chest compressions from CPR. Wow, he’s very committed to this bit.
“We’re losing them!”
“Sam, there’s barely a scuff on the wallpaper. I definitely came off worse.”
“I need a crash cart stat!” He yells at nobody in particular.
“Jesus Christ. You’ve been watching too many daytime medical dramas.” You just shake your head, but the corners of your mouth are threatening to twitch upwards.
“Have not…Beeeeeeeeeep! Aw, we lost them. RIP.” He finally steps away from the wall and shrugs. “I tried.”
“You’re such a goofball.” At least you’re smiling now.
“Hey, it worked didn’t it? Frown upside down.” He squeezes your shoulder. “You really did a number on that wall though, huh? I heard it all the way down there. Hell, I felt it. Made the stuff on the shelves rattle.”
“Yeah, I’ve had a bad day. A really bad day. People are assholes.” You glance down at the pile of laundry still littering the floor. “I should pick this up.”
“Do you have to right now?”
“Well, yeah…I was on the way downstairs to wash it.”
“I’m not sure the structural integrity of our house could take it if you had another…incident on the way to the washer. That wall’s concrete but you’re gonna end up going clean through one of the others. Then you’ll lose our security deposit.”
“My security deposit.”
“Right, right, right. That doesn’t mean you can punch holes wherever you like.”
“You could fix it though if I did?”
“Yeah, I guess. Y’know, I’ve never really asked you about it before, but talk me through it, what goes on in your head right before you flip out?”
“I don’t know, I just…see red and it happens before I can stop it.”
“Uh-huh.” He’s nodding. Bizarrely, he doesn’t look too freaked out to you admitting you pretty much go into berserker mode over minor inconveniences. “I know you can’t do anything about having 2 left feet, but you can do something about letting it get to you.”
“What, count to 10 or something?” You ask, mocking. Like you haven’t heard that one before.
“Yeah, seriously.” You get the impression he’s talking from experience. “It works, don’t question it.”
Screw it, he’s being really nice. At least he understands it’s not because you’re an idiot, it’s because your brain isn’t wired like most peoples. And he was right about the plastic plates. “Alright. I’ll try.”
“And you come tell me if this thing pisses you off again, I’ll deal with it.” Sam shakes his fist at the wall. He really is an idiot sometimes. But he does make you laugh. He’s your idiot.
“Gotcha.” You give him a thumbs-up with both hands, wincing again, the movement hurts.
He gives you a sly look. “How about you flex those fingers, and we play a game awhile. Crash Bandicoot maybe?”
“Again? I’ve got loads to do….” You fidget anxiously. you know what he’s up to though. Trying to get you to chill out.
“Just for a little bit. Scared I’ll beat ya?”
“Pffft, not even close, but I’m at a disadvantage this time.” There’s still no way he can win.
“I resent that, I’m getting pretty good.”
“You just mash the buttons.” It’s a fact and he knows it.
“C’mon, c’mon. I gotta at least beat your high score before I have to leave again.”
“Okay, okay, fine. I’m in. Let’s go!” You nod in the direction of the stairs.
“Loser deals with that later on.” He points at the abandoned pile of laundry on the floor.
“Deal, don’t go easy on me.” You step around it and follow him to the sitting room. Even with a crippled hand you’re pretty sure you can thrash him. “Elena and I used to play this in college, wonder if she still has it…”

Thank you for reading!
Yeah…I am not just clumsy, I am more like ‘danger to myself and others’ levels of uncoordinated. But I can’t be the only one! Don’t worry, Sam’s got your back ;) Also the title is the song Big Fun from Heathers the Musical because once again it has invaded my life. The whole soundtrack has been on a loop for days now. I LOVE IT. Punch the wall and start a fight!
- Sam Drake and Elena Fisher belong to Naughty Dog/the Uncharted creative team and I (sadly) take no ownership of them.
- This work is not for profit though it belongs to me and I must be credited when copying or reposting elsewhere
- As mentioned before reader is intended to be gender-neutral so please interpret this fic however you like. This is my first x Reader fic published and first g/n reader viewpoint I’ve attempted so I hope I did okay. I myself identify as mostly female so that’s what I normally write because it’s easier for me to connect with. But this was fun.

Note
Hi, I'm trying to keep this as short as I can since I know tumblr has a character limit and all, but I'm in a really dire situation (or at least it feels that way) and although I have a plan and have practiced self-care my stress is at an all time high. Lately my mother, who at first was with me on healing and recovering from the abuse both she suffered from her childhood and she then inflicted on me, has changed drastically after getting a boyfriend. (Pt. 1)
(Pt. 2) She expresses the same ideas that silenced my own expression or venting to her, such as that I am only a child, she raised me, and that I don't know reality because I'm only 17 and I'm mentally ill. She's gone all the time and for about a month she brought over her boyfriend everyday knowing that I was uncomfortable with it and I had asked for some accommodations. My abusive father has only been gone for about 4 months. I blew up at her and we had an argument, and the next day after that
(Pt. 3) after my therapy she took my phone, my only way of communicating with friends, and told me that I haven't apologized for anything I've done and that I should leave if I don't like her boyfriend being over or her rules (even though when we first spoke about this issue she told me she understood). I asked how I would go anywhere without anyone to call and she said she doesn't care what's going to happen to me and that she'd tase me. So I went to get the phone anyways and we had a fight.
(Pt. 4) After the fight happened the police came. I had many mental breakdowns and cried a lot. She called my super abusive father and my aunt and they all ganged up on me and told me I should have let my mother kick me out and I don't know the reality of hurting an adult in real life. Also that I have never been abused or mistreated despite having PTSD and symptoms of possible DID. I always considered my mother to be less abusive and caring but now I don't trust anyone. I don't know what to do.
(Pt. 5, last part, I'm really sorry) I feel like she's going to kick me out at 18 and I'm really scared. I've gotten somewhat better over the months but I don't know if I can finish school in time or have a job to save up in time as I turn 18 in only a few months. I've made progress with high school but I get constant headaches and dissociation everyday since the fight. My plan was to work and save up, buy a phone and stay at a hotel until I find housing, but where? I'd appreciate any advice.
Nonnie, I'm really sorry this happened :( your mother was extremely out of line there, and I really hope you know she's not right about you not knowing anything about life because of your age. That's just something abusers say to gaslight their victims into questioning whether they've been abused and whether they deserve boundaries, and it's a load of bull crap. There's no age restriction to being an abuse survivor, and no one is too young to know what pain and trauma feel like. More importantly, there's no magical age when you suddenly become deserving of being taken seriously. You have been abused. You have been mistreated. They don't get to decide that you haven't.
The fact that she called your abusive father and your aunt to help her abuse, gaslight and guilt-trip you is just. I have no words. It's absolutely disgusting. And I'm really sorry she hasn't been respecting your boundaries about her boyfriend either. I hope you know you deserve to set those boundaries, and she's the one being unreasonable here, not you. And for what it's worth, I think you 100% did the right thing getting your phone back.
This is the most thorough post on what to do if you're going to get kicked out I've come across through the years, and it has a lot of advice that I think can be useful. I don't really have anything to add to it, but if anyone else does, please feel free to share any advice that might be helpful!
Sending all my support your way, nonnie. You deserve so much better than this, and I really hope you can stay safe. Please feel free to update me if you want to. ❤️

NSFW Black/Reader
This is an excerpt from a Fanfiction called Bone-ifide Goods that hasn’t been posted yet. Basically Reader is in a tight spot and is helplessly trying to take care of her niece and nephew. After her sister in law up and left/disappeared with insurance money when it was announced Readers brother was missing in action and its assumed he is dead. Desperate for work until financial aide can help with her two new mouths to feed and literally on her last few dollars. She finds Bone-ifide goods, a grocery that is run by all the AU skeleton brothers Undertale, Underswap, Underfell, Horrortale, Swapfell. They help reader get on her feet as well as a job. This was going to be an explicit rating one. (I know I’m partial to swapfell sans but I adore him so he got the first sex scene.)  Feature below under the cut. WARNING THIS IS NSFW. Biting, knotting, public sex. Writing mature themed things is still very new to me so I’m posting this to get a feel. I am open to critiquing!
You guessed right.
Black had been reading your cues and he had been salivating for this moment.
Looking away shyly as he closes the cooler door behind him… eyeing you ravenously.
It had been awhile for you to have some meaningful adult time since the kids have been with you. No walks of shame from late night drinking. Nothing to quench the burning lust you've started to develop for these amazing skeletons.
Noticing that some of them have been dropping a few hints that they might be interested in you too.
You decided to drop a few seductive hints to Black. It was a slow day so Orange had Blue manning the register while you two stocked the floor leaving you by yourselves for the most part.
Now here you were about to have sex with a skeleton co-worker. So scandalous… you could be fired for this but wouldn't he as well? Hard to know and this was a family run business and all. Your hormones are raging and as he quickly closes the gap and throws his arms around you… you weren't going anywhere. His mouth on yours making the cooler almost steam from the heat your bodies were already prepped and producing.
Caught in his passionate embrace, knowing you two had to be quick. Your disappearance could easily be explained as your 15 minute break which you often took with one of the skeletons you were working with.
Black seemed to understand the need for a hasty rendezvous as well and turned you around. Thankfully a skirt was your chosen garment today and was also the subject of tease as you've subjected him to near panty shots. Your skirt is riding a little high as you bend over. Getting the poor flustered skeleton worked up and wanting as bad as you were.
He pulled your Polo over your head but left it resting and still covering your arms as you braced yourself for what was to come.
You feel him against you nipping and licking your shoulder to the crook of your neck. He places a hand between your legs to splay them and widen your stance as the other grips your hip.
Your panties are pushed aside and the waters are tested and it's safe to say you are positively dripping at this point… you've wanted him all day.
His hand leaves and you hear a zip and you moan in approval as he continues to assault your neck.
Then he pushes himself on you with the passion of a wild animal. You feel his weight pressing down but not fully,  just to show dominance. His chest on your back as he adjusts and you can feel a throbbing cock getting slick against your folds. Hearing and feeling a deep rumble from his chest… a mixture of a growl and a groan at feeling your heat.
Knowing your warm core probably feels amazing to his aching member in this cold cooler. Nipping you harshly enough to draw blood as he lines up with your opening… leaving you a moaning mess in want.
"Black please! Please!" You cry out to spur him on.
Ask and you shall receive.
Black rams it in with a guttural growl upon hearing your plea. You throw your head back as you clench his length and thickness… almost sad that it leaves only to cry out in joy when it returns… again and again…
He pistons into you as you both try to meet your end. It has to be quick so you can cool down and clean up. Then act like it didn't happen… then maybe try it again.
With the way Black is clinging to you purring and groaning with every squeeze around his cock you provide… he might just be up for another round in the near future too.
Both of you have seemed a little pent up and he starts back with tender nips as his thrusts begin to get a little erratic. You are so close, yes. You begin to rub your sensitive nub to help you reach with him.
You hear him whine and start to pull away and you realize that he might be trying to pull out… Gripping his hands and pulling him back flush against you earned a surprised huff of air out of him.
"It's okay Black. Give it to me. I want it all." You whine back and hear a ferocious snarl before he bites into you to latch his teeth into a grip.
Your eyes bulge… did he get bigger? You felt his cock almost bulge inside of you. It left you gasping as he tried to thrust.
You feel him snake a hand down to finish rubbing your clit making you a moaning mess. A final thrust from him and it feels like an explosion erupts from his cock. Sending you into your own pleasurable climax.
Feeling his cum continuously spurting against your spasming insides sending you into another but smaller orgasm.
Both of you are breathing heavy but very satisfied. Reveling in the aftermath for a quick moment. Now you had to be quick. Both of you needed to get cleaned up before you were caught.
You try to break away from Blacks embrace only to get a surprised gasp of pain and down both of you went.
Looking down Black was splayed on the floor and you very much still connected to his penis straddling him reverse cowgirl style.
"S-SHIT! Y/N I'M SORRY! I GOT TOO EXCITED AND KNOTTED INSIDE YOU!" Black is as red as a beet in embarrassment.
"Knotted? What does that mean? Are we stuck?" You ask looking back at him incredulously.
"YES… UNTIL MY KNOT HAS GONE DOWN." Black at least looks apologetic but you are terrified.
"What!? Black, if we aren't on the floor in a few minutes they are going to come looking for us! We can't use the 15 minute break excuse if we're gone longer than that!" You try to get up again only to grunt and come back down to rest on him. Then squeak in surprise when you feel another jet of cum coating your insides.
"S-SORRY… I'VE REALLY BEEN FANTASIZING ABOUT THIS AND YOU ASKING FOR IT MADE ME LET LOOSE." He sighs and blushes.
"What sex in a cooler?" You quip at him.
"STARS NO! BEING... INTIMATE WITH YOU." Black says looking away. You know he means it if he's embarrassed.
Black has a special place in your heart… you don't quite know if you're ready to give him everything but… since he made amends, from that fiasco when you first met him, by buying you and the kids groceries when you had nothing… you had a soft spot for him. He hadn’t needed to but he did it anyway.
Then when he started saying "YOU LOOK BEAUTIFUL TODAY." along with his good mornings… and giving you appreciative looks… willing to help at a moment's notice… Then when you left him speechless getting all gussied up for chaperoning Angels school dance… you had also invited him to come along with you to help keep you sane… you both had a very good time and even danced to a few songs… making it very clear how bad you both wanted to jump each other's bones…
Bad thing was… you also liked all the other skeletons. With raising the kids in mind you needed to date around and find mr. Right but that didn't mean you couldn't have some fun. Especially when Black was a potential candidate for that role.
"Y/N, Black, Code 2 at the front checkout."  You hear Orange over the loudspeakers just outside the cooler and you both blanch.
Code 2 was a sudden rush at the checkout… that you two were too preoccupied to help.
You try to lift again and both hiss… lowering poor Black to the harsh cold of the cooler floor.
"I AM SO SORRY. THIS IS GOING TO TAKE A MOMENT." Black groans as another spurt of cum hits deep inside you. It flares that tingling warmth back to life a little.
Stars… you couldn't get horny again… could you?
You feel yourself moistening more and clamping down on his still hard member… making him whimper.
You look back to apologize only to see him give you the same needy lust filled gaze.
What the heck… you were stuck might as well get off again if he doesn't mind.
Make it count before you were fired.
Feeling more cum fill you… you started your hips rocking for friction. Rubbing your clit as he began to pump once again. His moans make you clench him tighter in pleasure. Black gripping your hips harshly as you rode him.
Still cumming but still going? All the guys you've been with were typically spent after they blew their load. Far too sensitive for another round. Black was still cumming from his first and wanting to do more.
Feeling his cock rub aggressively the sensitive places inside you. Arching your back as he bucks.
Over stimulated yourself from the pleasurable pressure that was Black's still swollen member and the harsh tugs as he thrusts, not able to truly leave your womanhood.
Black instantly raises himself to embrace you further. You both aren't going to last very long as his feather like kisses begin to grip and nip. A final throb and feeling him explode within you again had you almost cry out as it hits deep within your womb. Sending pleasant shivers of coital bliss as your partner purrs coming down from his high.
You relax back into him and he nuzzles you appreciatively. Still deeply embedded in you. You still feel him twitch and release small spurts. Your abused core, highly sensitive to it all… making you whimper and moan.
Thankfully his second orgasm must have triggered his knot to go down. You feel the pressure begin to fade. Both of you quickly try to get ready.
Black gives you his bandana for cleanup and hastily hides it once you are done. His pants however were a little on the wet side. You untucked his polo slightly so it would cover the spots.
Getting a thumbs up when you ask how you look. You both make a beeline for the registers. You got a concerned look from Blue and Orange as Orange was trying to help man the registers as you two didn't show.
Both of you hopped on and helped take care of the crowded frontline. Once it went down it was Orange that piped up.
“So… where were you two?” He asks suspiciously.
“W-we were in the cooler. We were trying to rotate stock and one of the crates fell over.” You thought it was a good excuse to be late. However Black was rigid and when Orange looks his way for verification, he merely huffs.
“YOU ASK THAT AS IF WE WERE TRYING TO GET OUT OF DOING OUR JOBS.” He glares at Orange who humms.
“Is that right? So what happened to your bandana?” Orange smirks at him as he falters. He always had his bandana…. This looked highly suspicious.
“MISS Y/N!” You turn to look at Blue as he sounds panicked
He leans in close and whispers to you. If you could call it whispering.
“IS-IS IT THAT TIME? I THINK YOU FORGOT. YOU’VE GOT RED ON YOUR LEG.” You can only gape at him then look down and sure enough there is a little trail on the inside of your lower leg you must have missed… of red cum from a now very red skeleton.
“Oh! Thanks Blue I need to go clean this up.” You smile awkwardly at him when on the inside you are mortified.
Unaware that you completely left Black to Orange’s mercy. Of which you didn’t know… he lacked.
“I wonder what sans is going to say when he looks on the security footage.” Orange smirks as Black sputters.
“W-WE DON’T HAVE CAMERAS IN THE COOLER!!!!” He yells.
“We don’t have them in the freezer. There’s a difference.” He keeps the smirk up as Black looks horrified.
“Blue can you finish with the front stock while we don’t have any customers checking out?” He calls over to his brother who cheerfully salutes. As soon as Blue was out of ear shot.
“You think I can’t tell the difference between blood and magic mister? Then there’s a lot you don’t know about me.” Orange eyes are lit an eerie orange. Black could see there was no getting out of this.
“SHE WANTED IT AND I GAVE IT. NO SENSE IN GETTING JEALOUS ORANGE.” Black smirked right back as it was Orange’s turn to gape.

Hello, how've you been? Idk if you've been asked this before but what are some of your favourite things about Lucas Grey? ❤✌
Anon, dear, how long has this been in my inbox, I am truly sorry :( . I’ve been busy lately with loads of assignments, part-time jobs.
So, yes, hello there :D !
I’m doing great, thank you. Hopefully, the same goes to you <3
So, about your question.
What are some of my favorite things about Lucas Grey?
Man, there's a lot of them 😂. The almost insoluble dilemma of me wanting to keep it short and simple or just went full Lucas Grey Simp™. So I’ll just keep it Top 5.
Anyway, let’s start. (a bit long)
1. He’s gorgeous.
I mean come on. I’m not gonna lie. The first thing that made me LOOK, was his looks. The same goes to his bro back then.
While his brother is the type of handsome in a proper and prim kinda look, Lucas is more of a handsome, rough around the edges kinda look.
Those stormy eyes, strong jaws, devilish smile, alluring voice.... man I am whipped.
Hell, look at me. I started getting into this fandom simping over 47.
And now, look at how the tables turn 😂
But anyway, I was like “ehh maybe it’s just a temporary thing.”
BOI am I wrong lol because guess what?
2. He’s also charming. ugh. and charismatic.
Sir. How dare you. I wasn’t supposed to be this deep in this fandom. Now look what you did to me. Bastard.
And that, is the tragedy of me falling deep for this man.
Anyway where was I? Oh right. He’s charming and charismatic. The man was able to turn Penelope Graves, an anti-terror analyst, joined his cause. AND, he leads a goddamn militia. Even through that phone call with Rico, I can still feel his domineering presence. Just- *chefs kiss*
3. A strategy genius. Or just maybe overall, wickedly and spectacularly, genius.
Like?? Hello? The man plays the ICA like puppets, doing his wet work. Able to kidnap Thomas Cross discreetly. Thomas Cross. Can you imagined the amount of security this man would’ve had? Probably at “guarding-the-president” kinda level. AND he’s also able to infiltrate the vault and able to take out like god knows how much boxes of information. All of that, without triggering a single alarm or suspicions. Mad.
And he’s capable of infiltrating heavily guarded government building, where he kills Kamarov. (staged it as suicide). King.
4. Odd, but admirable hybrid traits in which he’s capable to be this sinister brutal man AND also be very empathetic, emotional man. Such a human.
We saw him offering his condolences to Diana after she shared about what happen to her parents.
We heard his voice breaking (hell he probably really did shed a tear) when he thanked 47 after he killed Ingram and Stuyvesants
We saw him comforting Olivia with his childhood story, just for the sake of quelling her fear.
Also, this brief little smile when he said that he’s proud of her.
I DARE you to say they don’t have any bond. Because they clearly do.
LoOK at that. In this essay I will-
Tumblr media
(okay okay let me just stop myself before I turn this into an essay about their cute father-daughter vibes, maybe I’ll do that in another post. but let me just say that I SCREAMED when I noticed this cute shit.)
But. Despite all this, I never forget who he is. Specifically, what he’s done.
This same man, was also the one who squeezed Cobb’s eye to the point of death.
And he blew a man to pieces.
This man was described as ‘crazy son of a bitch’ by this one dude who went to war side by side with him in Chechnya. It’s possible he could be exaggerating, but judging by his tone, I personally don’t think he is.
“Glad it wasn’t me in those woods.” Yeah. Dude sounds legitimately unnerved by him to the point of not wanting to encounter him ever again.
And that really speaks a lot. What on earth did he do back in Chechnya?
Tumblr media
5. And finally, my favorite thing about this man, is how he’s capable to think beyond his vengeful quests.
Sure, we could go round and round over how “revenge is not good yada yada”.
But knowing his past, I don’t blame him for choosing this path. T
he best part is, he’s aware of it. He knows he can’t stay like this forever. He knows killing all those people responsible for making him and his brother like this, taking down Providence, won’t change the fact that he’s still a clone engineered to be a killer. Maybe what he did, really does change the world, but I find it really hard to believe Providence was dismantled just like that. Despite everything, moving on, is the only best way for him to live.
And he knows this. He just feels a little better when they’re dead.

_____________________
Chapter 28 - The Lost Boy
Your name: submit What is this?
The Incident with Collin's ex had left a bitter taste in your mouth for most of the day. You clenched your fists anytime you thought back at how she and her friends had berated him. Part of you wanted to bring it up again to Collin but it seemed like he had enough of talking about her for today. You didn’t want to annoy him with it. Perhaps you could try again some other time.
Collin seemed a little annoyed by it but it didn’t seem to have shaken him up too much, he was quite happily scoffing food into his mouth, upon finally making it to the café you both had planned to visit. You watched him amused, your hands clasped around the warm porcelain coffee mug as you blew into the brown liquid, still too hot to drink. For a being that didn’t need food, Collin sure could put it away quick. You thought it was cute though.
“So,” You began to speak, removing the white mug from your lips. Collins eyes flicker up to meet yours.
“I kissed Connor this morning.” You felt weird telling this to Collin but you knew if this was going to work, open communication would be essential.
“Finally, took you both long enough.” He laughed, sitting back in his chair. “So, who’s the better kisser me or Connor?” A sly grin formed across his face.
“Definitely Connor.” You quipped, copying his go to wink.
“Lies.” Collin rolls his eyes.
“Okay, I’m only messing. You both are well, really great.” You shrug with a small giggle. You don’t think you could choose a favourite.
“Just admit you like me better, it’s okay I won’t tell.” Collin's foot brushes against your leg as he teases you. You raise your eyebrows to him in a mocking way as a response.
“I’m only kidding.” He chuckles before taking another swig of his drink.
When you both had finished your food, you set off into the city again, your hand linked around his arm as he leads the way.
“So, the museum then?” Collin asks, a little too unenthusiastically for your liking – making you stop and think.
“Why do I feel like your pandering to me?” You ask, pulling back on his arm slightly.
“Huh?”
“It’s just the museum doesn’t seem like a very ‘Collin’ thing. It’s not your style.”
“Hey, are you trying to say that I’m not smart, sophisticated and cultured?” He fakes being insulted, making you giggle slightly.
“You know that’s not what I meant.”
“Yeah, I know,” he smiles. “You got me. Connor suggested taking you there.” He holds his hands up in defence, accompanied by a smirk.
“Well, I want to do something that  you  want to do. Not what you think I want, or Connor thinks rather. This is your last day off. What do  YOU  want to do?”
“Well, I could think of a few things” he grins, moving his hand lower down your back with flirtation. You bump your shoulder into him in response as if you’re telling him to grow up. Not that you would mind getting a little bit more intimate  with him – it was just that you actually wanted to go do something that he would enjoy.  That didn't involve getting frisky.
“Oh, I’m sure” you laugh it off. “But what do you actually want to do? Well, besides, drinking, partying and orgies.”
“Hey, I’m no longer a single man, No orgies for me, anymore.”
“Anymore?”
“Forget I said that.” He snaps back, pointing his finger towards you.  To which you just laugh, you cant tell if he's joking or not but... hey, you don’t judge.
But wait, what did he say? The realisation only dawns on you now.
“So no longer a single man huh?”
“Well, I was assuming by now… Y'know.” He shrugs blankly at you, like an idiot.
You shake your head and chuckle. “You telling Richard I’m your girlfriend doesn’t count as asking me out. You have to do it properly.”
Collin stops walking for a minute and plays with the sleeve of his leather jacket. LED flashing a sickly yellow for a moment, clearing his throat – even though he obviously did not need to – he starts to ask. “Uh, Will you -“
“Shouldn’t we wait for Connor?” You interrupt him.
“I can ask for the both of us.”
“It doesn’t work like that.”
“That’s a shame.” He responds even though he clearly seemed relieved that he didn’t have to ask you alone. Even though he pretty much knew what your response was going to be he was still nervous. Maybe it was too soon.
Most couples date for a few months before they make it official but you had been friends for such a long time now, does that make it okay? Where you weirded out by the power dynamic? Was being with two different people too much? Did you feel pressured into this relationship?
Collin's head felt like it was spinning, he tried his best to hide it behind his smile. Hopefully, he could maintain the blue of his LED, if he really focused he could keep it blue. – something he taught himself to do a few years back. It took a lot of concentration but it was possible.
“Anyway.” Your voice pulls him back into reality. “Back to my main point, before we get side-tracked again.” You turn to look at him, finger poking him in the center of his chest. “What do you want to do today?”
“Shit, I don’t know.” He looks around with a clueless expression. Apart of you wonders if he’s ever eve been asked this question before.
“Maybe we could go to the park? Oh!” his face sparks up for a moment. “I have a Frisbee in my car.”
“Sounds great!” You chime back. Smiling at how enthusiastic he had become over a Frisbee.
Both of you had spent a good few hours in the park. Just walking around, playing Frisbee and talking the biggest load of nonsense. You even got to meet some nice dogs, which is always a bonus.
Because it was just you and Collin, you both got some horrendously unhealthy, greasy food from a food truck but damn it was good. You both had a laugh at the thought of what Connor would say about it. The hours had passed way too quickly. Soon it was time to head home, but something stopped you, the sound of a child crying.
You almost sent Collin into a full-blown panic when you had disappeared out of his sight to go investigate it. Thankfully he spotted you before you had fully immersed yourself into the trees to seek the kid out.
Collin approached you in a light jog to keep up only to find you down on your knees talking to a small weeping boy. A human boy.
Before Collin could complain about you running off you had reached out to pull Collins hand down in order for him to be crouching to talk to the little boy as well.
“He lost his family.” Your face turned to Collin.
Collin briefly let his LED slip back to the yellow colour he had been trying so hard to hide that day. Immediately it caught the kid’s attention.
“I don’t want to go to the pound!” he blurts out, tears filling up his eyes. “Davey said it’s scary there.”
You hush the little boy before offering him your hand. “You won’t have to go near that place, I promise.”
He slowly places his tiny little dirt-covered hand in your own. You stand to your feet and help the little boy up.
“Can you help?” You whisper to Collin.
His lips go thin for a moment as he thinks. “Not without taking him to the pound to get his chip checked.”
Your eyebrows turn up in worry, not wanting to break your promise to the kid. “isn’t there something you can do?”
“Well, human matters aren’t in my division of work. I can’t do anything but Richard might be able to pull some strings.”
“Are you serious?” You wince at the thought of getting Richard involved.
“Yeah, I’m sorry for even suggesting it but he does have the city in his pocket basically.” He grumbles, scratching the back of his head. “He’s got connections, he could get a chip scanner sent out here. We wouldn’t even have to leave the park.”
“That would be preferable.” You sigh. “Would he even agree?”
“Only one way to find out.” Collin lifts his phone from his pocket. “I’ll call him, you walk the kid around the park, see if you can find his family anywhere.”
You nod and take the child’s hand again, following Collins instructions.
___
You had no luck finding the child’s family. The sun was starting its descent, painting the sky with shades of pink and orange clouds.
“It looks like ice cream.” You smile down at the little boy’s observation. “What’s your favourite Ice cream?” You ask, in an attempt to keep the child entertained.
“Strawberry!” He perks up in glee.
“I’ve never tried strawberry ice cream before.”
“What!” The Child almost seems offended by your confession. “Lady, you haven’t lived.”
“Is that so?” You giggle.
“He’s got a point.” Collin was quick to quip back.
The three of you were standing outside the park gates, it was closing up soon. At the rate this was going you would either be forced to take the kid to the pound or back to the apartment. Neither of which was ideal and would probably scare the poor kid out of his wits.
Finally, a familiar sleek black car had pulled up beside you. The doors swing open to reveal Richard, stepping out with a small white device in hand. the child’s hand wrapped tighter around yours as Richard came closer. You couldn’t blame the kid, Richard did look intimidating as hell as he approached, like some type of vampiric villain.
“Arm.” He ordered, hand extending out to the boy which cause you to grimace in response. Richard noticed immediately. With a roll of his eyes, he then squats down to the boy's eye level. He holds his hand out again and asks in a more gentle tone.
“May I please see your arm? I need to scan it so that we can call your family.”
The little boy looks up to you with curious eyes and you nod to him, placing your hand on his shoulder. The boy reluctantly rolls up his sleeve and offers his arm out to Richard.
With a small beep from the device, you had the families contact details. The lady – his mother, sounded like she was in hysterics over the phone. It didn’t take too long for her and her partner to show up, thanking and praising you all for finding their boy. When they had left you made brief eye contact with Richard and thanked him. He simply nodded and got back into his car.
---
Upon arriving home you had to fill Connor in on the eventful day you both had. He seemed just as pissed as you were about the whole drama with Collins ex. He was very proud of the both of you as well as a little shocked at Richard – and his willingness to help - with "the case of the lost child."
Thank goodness that all got sorted. I thought we were going to have to bring that poor kid home with us. That would be so bad.”
“No it wouldn’t, you were great with him.” Collin's hand grazes against your arm.
“Well, I meant it would be scary for the child. Being without his family.”
The Boys both nod in agreement.“I guess kids are lucky that way though.” You sigh. “Android couples always want to adopt little kids, raise them, treat them like their own. Probably only humans that get to experience family life. For some reason, I wasn’t good enough for that.”
Both of the boys go silent.
Oh jeez, you didn’t mean to dump all of that on them in the middle of a casual conversation. Will you ever learn when to stop talking?
“I’m sorry you never got to experience that.” Connor eventually speaks up breaking the silence.
“It’s okay. I'm sorry I shouldn’t have gone off of that tangent. I’m pretty lucky now though. I have you guys, you're both pretty great.” You smile, placing your head on Connor's shoulder and placing your hand on top of Collins.
“And were both grateful to have you.” Connor says placing a kiss on the top of your head. The three of you sit quietly for a while, Connor resting his chin on your head and Collin stroking his fingers down your hand, playing and rubbing on each one of your individual fingers.
While the room was silent you had your suspicions that Collin and Connor where communicating with each other via their minds. That weird mind communication that androids could do with other androids within their proximity. You can usually tell when this happens because Collin sometimes forgets to hide his facial expressions when he does it. Also, their LEDs slightly waver when they communicate this way.
Finally, Collin chooses to speak out first. “So I suppose now is as good as time as any.” He begins.
You adjust yourself to sit up slightly while still leaning against Connor.
“Y/N.”
“Yes?”
“Will you be our girlfriend?”
Collin looked so serious, almost worried that you’d say no. Connor, on the other hand, seemed pretty calm, casually playing with a lock of your hair. You leaned back to look at Connor.
“What he said.” Connor smiles back teasingly.
“Well, I'd have to think about it. You turn back around and look down at your nails before a smile cracks across your face. “of course I will dummy.” You giggle before leaning up and pressing a small kiss against Collin's lips. Connor rubbing small circles on your arm, waiting for his turn. When You and Collin both pull away from each other Connor reaches up his hand to guide your face towards him, stealing a kiss as well.
You hoped every moment could be this sweet.
___
Chapter 29 - Our Time is Running Out
He couldn’t believe he was doing this. What on earth possessed him to go out of his way for a human? That little minx, the cruel temptress had him wrapped around his finger.
He could have kept his pride, refused. But the thought of you upset with him (even more so than you already were) was completely unbearable.
So here he found himself, on a Sunday night, travelling across town, calling in a favour from an old acquaintance just so that he could borrow his chip reader. And for what? Some lost human that you had came across in the park? While you were on a date with his brother?
Richard was disgusted at himself.
Oh how he tried to pull back from you, to forget, to move on. But to no avail. Your laugh, your smile, your scent. It was frivolous. You had taken over his mind like a virus to his system. Oh, how it made him loath himself for feeling this way.
“You will be the death of me.” He sighed looking down at the chip reader sitting in his passenger seat.
You wicked thing.
He hoped the drive would at least clear his mind, help him keep his cool for when you meet again. He found it hard to control himself recently. He had never had this problem before. Perhaps he could only blame himself. He played with fire, allowing himself to get close to you. Now it was time to suffer from the burns.
Why did you have to kiss him, why did he allow it in the first place? It was stupid the whole thing! You were a human. It was unheard of. The only reason he adopted you was to prove a point to Connor, how did this all get so messed up? Maybe he was too arrogant. He was sure at the time that this would have been the best way to get through to his brother, not drive them apart. He wanted to save Connor from his own delusions. But what happened instead was unthinkable.
Richard caught feelings for the human.
The android and the human? It sounded ridiculous.
He braced himself as he drove closer to the destination, not long now. He was just going to get in then get out and try his best to avoid eye contact. Then he saw you. Looking as beautiful as ever, the wind delicately sweeping between your hair. Standing outside the park gates with his brother and a small little boy.
Wait, It was a child that was lost?
Richard pulled his car up beside the gates. He shook his head taking in a deep breath – which he didn’t need – before finally grabbing the scanner and stepping out.
When your eyes fell on him he felt his thirium pump start to rattle in his chest, he tried to ignore it as he approached the three of you. Swept up in his own thoughts he didn’t notice the little boy beginning to cower behind you.
“Arm.” Richard ordered the boy.
He was confused for a moment, why didn’t the child comply? But then his eyes briefly caught yours. You didn’t look pleased.
Shit.
He looked down at the boy then finally realised . Oh. He’s scared?
It’s okay, play it off…
He then knelt down. He could see the boy was still unsure of him so Richard reached out his hand and asked in a gentle tone. “May I please see your arm? I need to scan it so that we can call your family.”
When the boy finally offered his arm, Richard took it and scanned his chip, trying to hide his own shaky uneven feeling from showing in his movements. In an instant, the screen on the device flashed with the boy’s information.
Richard stood up, grabbing Collin’s phone straight out of his hand. He pressed the phone against the screen and gave it back to Collin.
“It should be ringing his family now.”
Collin nodded before holding the phone up to his ear. He moved a little bit away from you, Richard and the boy to speak to the family.
Although, the three of you could hear whoever it was – a female – blubbering down the phone.
You and Richard stood in silence while Collin talked on the phone.
“Don’t worry your family will be here soon.” Richard heard you whisper to the small boy. If his heart could combust it would have at that moment. He didn’t know how to deal with this. How to deal with you. He hated this feeling.
The minutes you waited for the family to arrive felt like hours to Richard. He stood with his arms crossed in silence while you and Collin kept the little boy entertained.
When the family finally arrived Richard was so relieved, he could finally leave. He supposed sure, it was good the child was returned home but mainly he wanted to get the fuck out of this situation as soon as he could.
After the family had given their thanks and praise to the three of you, Richard was on a mission to get back into his car as fast as possible. Before he reached for the handle, he did make brief eye contact with you.
You thanked him. He didn’t know how else to respond so he just nodded in return.
Getting back into his car he watched as you and Collin walked away – presumably to Collin's car – holding hands with each other. Richard cursed himself under his breath before driving off.
___
The next day Richard immersed himself fully within his work, something he usually did when his emotions got in the way. Emotions were so messy. he knew he had to return home soon, something he wasn’t looking forward to. His brothers were usually sat about cooing after you, the human, in HIS house. Maybe his karma was finally catching up with him.
When he arrived home it was quiet. It dawned on him, Collin was back to work again. it was probably just him and you in the apartment at the moment. His initial reaction was to run into his room or office to avoid you but a voice in his head said, ‘no. this is enough. No more hiding.’ He had to talk to you.
Gathering whatever courage he had he straightened himself out before heading into the livingroom. There you were sat cutely curled up in a ball on the couch. Your eyes lazily made their way towards him.
“Hello.” Richard spoke stiffly, trying to look as stoic as he could.
“Hi.” You spoke softly.
Okay, she doesn’t seem too annoyed with me…
Richard knew he had to be careful with his words around you. He knew you wouldn’t eat up the bullshit that he fed to everyone else in his life, no. You were different.
“So, you’re dating my brothers?”
“Yeah.”
“Both of them?”
You nod again in response. Richard bites his lip and sits down on the couch opposite you.
“I acknowledge that we had a rough patch and I apologise for it.” Richard begins speaking looking down at his hands. “I guess I just didn’t realize what we had was over.”
“We had something?” You asked. Richard's face looks up at you in confusion, not understanding what you meant.
“You see, I might be mistaken but I thought in order to ‘have something’ you would have to have, I don’t know, an element of respect for each other? Y’know treating your partner or person of interest as a person or an equal.” You spat back at him.
“It’s more complicated than that, I-” Richard tried to explain himself before you cut him off.
“Listen.” You begin. “I know you have some weird God complex so you can’t wrap your head around it but Connor and Collin treat me like a person. They care about me.”
“I care!” Richard stands up, his eyebrows turning upwards as his voice raises slightly.
You scoff a little. “Do you? Or are you just saying that to get your own way?”
“This is just, all very new to me.” Richard tries to explain further, holding his hand to his chest. “It’s difficult. You’re a human and my people they-”
“Oh grow up.” You finally stand to your feet and begin to walk away from him.
“I’m sorry!” He blurts out, causing you to stop. You turn to him and notice his LED now red.
“For what?” You ask. Maybe a glimmer of hope for him caught in your eyes.
But Richard doesn’t speak. His mouth fumbles around like he’s trying to catch his words but he says nothing.
“Hmm, I thought so.” You sigh and turn back to walk away. Biting your lip you shake your head. He doesn’t care, he’s just trying to control me again.
You will suck the life out of me ~

Me appreciating you for Fanfic Writers’ Appreciation Day, but a day late, because I do everything late. Anyway... yay!
Tumblr media
1. PLEASE LOOK DOWN THIS LIST (BELOW THE CUT) UNTIL YOU SPOT AN AUTHOR YOU’RE NOT FAMILIAR WITH
2. GO AND CHECK OUT THEIR STUFF
3. SCREAM AT THEM ABOUT HOW GREAT THEY ARE
4. SIGNAL BOOST THE HELL OUT OF THEIR STUFF
5. REPEAT STEPS ABOVE
Firstly, before we proceed to the list: I will have forgotten people, and for that I am so sorry (not in any way intentional)- I will come back and update if I spot someone I’ve missed. Secondly, for fic authors who weren’t tagged on Fic Writers’ Day, please keep doing what you’re doing! Putting your writing out there takes courage and I’m super proud of you. I’m so pleased we have your unique voice in the fandom, and I appreciate you.
Secondly, if you know an author who perhaps didn’t get as much love as they deserve (and don’t be afraid to self-hype) please send me an ask with a) their/your handle b) which fandom they/you write for (to be relevant to my page pls keep this to SW, Oscar, Pedro, MCU) c) why people should check them/you out and, if you like, which fic to start with, and I’ll do a shout-out.
Finally, if you aren’t a writer yet but you want to be, I believe in you! Please take the plunge! My inbox is always open to any aspiring writers who need encouragement to make that first post or start that first fic. I’ve been in your position, and believe me I’m in your corner. Happy to be your hype girl.
Reccing authors in Star Wars / Oscar / Pedro fandoms:
@okay-hotshot / Celeste is the loveliest human ever. She had me hooked from her first fic, which broke then healed my heart, and I’m so proud of her writing journey so far! Check her page out for Oscar character fics and the most magical, creative, immersive, touching, original Llewyn fic you could dream up: Wait for me.
@mandoplease where do I even start? Becca oozes talent and absolutely floors me every single time. The first fic I read was: The City Lights Can Wait (Santi x reader) and I was just blown away by the writing prowess. Gorgeous prose, mind blowing metaphors and descriptions. A personal fave is the Santi/Frankie threesome fic: Moving Day, but Fight Night also needs a mention. Check her out for Triple Frontier / Narcos / Star Wars characters.
@mylifeliterally Ok, Emma is an absolute gem of a human. Funny, welcoming and so supportive of other writers. Oh, and can be counted on for thots. I often rec the positively artful Triple Frontier gangbang fic (and now series) Team Building Exercise, but don’t overlook her other fics- I especially love: Just for Tonight, a two-part Santi fic. The Triple Frontier Queen, she is slowly dragging everyone into a pit of yearning along with her for every single one of those boys and we’re not even mad. Her writing is flawless and I cannot get enough. P.s. she has a refridgerator husband.
@tintinwrites I’ve already gushed at Caitlin today so I’ll keep it brief. Queen of Poe, and also branching out and excelling with everything she touches in Pedro fandoms too. I think I’ve read near everything on her masterlist and there are no wrong choices, but to pick out only a couple, which is a hard task, imma rec Forbidden Fruit and Fifty Ways to Kiss someone for Po, and Nothing Could be Finer for reader x Frankie x Santi.
@woakiees again, gushed at Hadley already so I’ll try and keep it chill here. Queen of angst and darkness, and of First Order Poe. Also love that shes writing for Santi and Din now too. Caitlin says it best when she describes Hadley’s writing as like something from 1843 with a modern twist. Such a unique voice. Imma recommend Sanctified and So ruthless, Darling for Poe.
@iamthe-shadow-on-the-wall Abby! The range! You know I remind you on a bi-monthly basis how much Lonely Nights (Poe x reader) broke my heart and here we go again. You can do it all- fluffy, slow burn series (Call it what you want), heartbreaking angst and smut- your Blue Jones mob boss AU, Darkest Little Paradise? Wowzers. Plus, you’re a sweetie and I love when we scream at each other.
@darksideofclarke Clarke does so much for us all and just keeps giving. From the Sinful Sunday events to the incredible Follower Celebration, to setting up a whole side blog to extend the character takeovers?! Blessed with content! And Clarke’s fics?! Exquisite, and such a choice of characters from the Oscar fandom. I particularly love Now and Forevermore (Orestes); Bulletproof (Santi); Humbled (Blue); and ‘Til Death Do They Part (Mikael) but I could easily go on. Clarke you’re so talented. And you are a lovely human to boot!
@bluebellhairpin Nemo, you are a joy, and I won’t gush at you too much bc I already did that today, but I love what you’re putting out. You write for so many fandoms, which is so impressive, and you’re a fellow Poe hoe. I adore your series Fight or Flight, Rider, but you have so many cute one-shots and blurbs too e.g. Poe Dameron is an Idiot! Your audios give me life as well.
@spider-starry Carrie is so much fun and has been branching out a lot in her writing recently, which is great to see! I love Carrie’s 100 letter project in particular, for various Oscar characters, as well as this smutty Nathan NSFW Alphabet, which had me all in a tizz.
@aellynera (tag me in your stuff pls?) I love your drunk text series for Santi and Nathan and your Itsy Bitsy Spider headcanons made me howl! I’m so excited to see what you put out next! And I love that you also love Nathan :D
@anetteaneta already gushed at you today so I’ll keep it brief, but I’m so happy you’re sharing your writing! I loved your Sherlock series for Santi so much! And OMG wait, I didn’t see you’d written for Nathan until just now. Must catch-up. (Please tag me in any Oscar stuff you put out?)
@veuliee2 I need to catch-up on a lot of your fics to be fair (please tag me in stuff?) but you write Orestes so wonderfully and with so much heart that it blows me away (New Constellations). So few fics on him on this site and yours are a pleasure. Plus, you’re an all round lovely person! :o)
@thirsty-flygirl I don’t think you believe how good you are which makes me very sad to be honest. Because you’re amazing. You write Poe so spot on, so warm and goofy and a lovable sexy dumbass. Perfect. Your writing and dialogue makes me smile / laugh and you can somehow make it hot and soft all at once. I love your series Idiots in particular. (Please tag me in more of your stuff though as I worry I miss things you put out?). You’re great and I love having you here.
@twomoonstwosuns I really need to catch-up on your Poe series, Back to You but I really enjoyed the chapters I’ve read! (Please tag me in future Poe stuff?) You’re a star!
@absurdthirst I’m newish in the Pedro fandoms so still getting to grips with it, but have loved what I’ve seen so far and look forward to delving deeper (and there’s plenty to get stuck into!)!Most recently read the Ezra fic Healing which was beautifully and sensitively written (cw: for prior assault).
@damerondjarin Taylor is multi-talented and blesses us, tbh, with GIFs and writing. She’s currently in tumblr jail, but I strongly advise you check out all her stuff. I came for Santi fics and they did not disappoint (I can’t link to it but the latest Santi fic killed me and was a wonderul take on the “there’s only one bed” trope.
@damndamer0n you have a gift, Ty. I’m in awe and I don’t know how you do what you do. Your way with words is really something special. I bow. Gonna recommend Just Friends for Poe because this is such a warm and immersive (and hot) fic and so in character. But honestly all your stuff is perfect. I’ve read things for characters I’ve never heard of before because of you and have loved each and every one. (Like, really, what are your secrets, tell us?). Also gonna shout-out to your Ezra fic, Sunlight, beacuse the world-building and mood-building was lovely. Really memorable!
@mssr-cellophane I found your work recently through FinnPoe week and your glorious take on the The Jacket prompt (links to A03). Looking forward to reading more of your stuff (please feel free to tag me!) and surprised by how much I vibe with all your posts haha. Happy to follow you! :)
@yougottakeeponkeepinon AMANDA? Where do I begin and how do I stop? You’re such an important part of this site for me. I think you’re wonderful as a person and I love your writing too. Miscommunication (First Order! Poe) is off the scale brilliant, and then you blew me away with your latest Santi fic, Eavesdropping, but honestly, I’ve never read anything of yours I didn’t love, from goofy Poe to soft soft Llewyn (I love Away from the Sun). I WANNA YELL AT YOU YOU’RE JUST THE BEST.
@poesflygirl Nat is a ball of energy and that comes across in her writing. Nat, you write with such verve and energy and defo have a unique voice. You write the angstiest angst and fluffiest fluff and you also write action and dialogue so well. Your fics have a ton of unexpected turns and are unpredictable, and you have loads of unique ideas which are really fresh and different to read. You don’t seem to believe how good you are, which makes me sad tbqh. I love when I see a tag pop up and get to read something new from you! In particular love your Poe series, You and Paging a Heart, and these Poe one-shots: Just another Benduday Night and Truth or Dare.
@starryeyedstories NOVA. You are pure sunshine. You spread so much positivity and you’re the loveliest human. Your are the Queen of softness and fluff and for comforting and beautifully written fics. Your series, Across the Hall, has taken us all on such a wonderful journey and I don’t want it to ever end. It’s like my happy place! Each chapter is practically a hug with words. Your Din one-shot All of Me is so romantic as well!
@softpedropascal I’m newish in Pedro fandoms but softpedropascal writes wonderfully for Frankie. The dedication to the character is evident, and characterisation wonderful- I can’t wait to read more: Masterlist
@rzrcrst okay, you may know rzrcrst for Pedro fics (which are wonderful) but she also recently started writing for Tony Stark and I’m so happy! 😀🧡 (Fun fact- her url is also the reason I couldn’t spell Razor Crest properly when I finally started writing for Din). She’s currently taking a well-earned tumblr break but fics are still up on Ao3- linked in profile.
@writefasttalkevenfaster Please tag me in any of your Star Wars stuff as I swear I keep missing things and I don’t mean to! Masterlist
@galaxy-of-stories Maddie, I keep missing things you post but you’re lovely and your writing is awesome. I love your Poe series Over and Over and I think I’ve just spotted a new chapter to catch-up on so lucky me! :D
@who-talks-first Billie, my lovely friend! You’re wonderful to have around on this hellsite. Your dedication to supporting writers in these fandoms is unparelled and you’re an absolute sweatheart, as well as super fun to chat to and thirst with. You have certainly made my experience on this site so much better! And also, your writing? Excuse me? So good. Your Poe fic, The Torture of Small Talk With Someone You Used to Love? Sublime! And the Poe, Naked, Dripping, Locked? So funny! You definitely have a unique style and your writing can be simultaneously edgy, poetic, and moving. ILY!
@xxidontwikeitxx Hope you don’t mind being included, as you haven’t posted your work, but you ARE a writer, and I’m so happy you’ve recently started creating! Again, hope you don’t mind me saying, but I had the pleasure of reading your Marcus Pike blurb, and it’s was so soft and lovely. I really hope - when/if you’re comfortable- you decide share your work, and if not, I hope you keep enjoying the process! Would leave to read more from you in the future!
@shakespeareanwannabe is writing such a heartfelt Santi x OC story (find it here) with sublime characterisation of both Santi and Frankie, AS WELL AS seriously well-rounded and compelling OCs / supporting cast. This series is a key contributor for me falling down a Frankie rabbit role, and my First Dates fic likely wouldn’t exist without it! So excited for more!
Also shoutout to @ollypopp @milleniumvalcon @justrunamok @yourbucky084 who are delightful beings and whose writing I need to catch-up on!I look forward to it!

Afterdate | UshiOi
Tumblr media
Pairing: Ushijima Wakatoshi x Oikawa Tooru
Genre: Fluff, first date
Rating: SFW
Words: 6900+
A/N: This was for UshiOi Week (@ushioiweek2020) but I wasn't able to make the deadline. I wrote Ushijima and Tendou scenes on a writer's block, phew. Thank you to Risa for beta reading this! I owe it all to you!I have quite a number of Haikyuu one-shot ideas, including thrillers and angst, I still need to write. But uni is taking a lot of my time and I haven't fully surpassed my writer's block yet (hence, why I've been posting less and less). If you enjoyed it, don't hesitate to comment. See you on the next! Nevertheless, I hope you love the story as much as I loved writing it!
Masterlist
Tumblr media
Ushijima stared at the slightly breathless wonder in front of him as he skidded to a halt. His eyes twinkled, just a bit—in a way they usually did when he was amused but tried hard not to be. Oikawa looked spectacular. Utterly and completely spectacular. A little stiff on the edges, but spectacular
It was a terrible date. Until it wasn’t.
Tumblr media
The usually loud metropolis was quiet as a wraith as Tendou and Ushijima waited for the bus home. The kiss of smooth, cold breeze enveloped them both, making Tendou shiver.
Tendou rubbed his hands on his arms as the condensation of his breath blew against the low temperature before whipping his head to the side, only to see Ushijima dart his gaze to the road, patiently waiting. He didn’t care at all about the freezing temperature, standing still as the bus finally arrived, making Tendou frown at their differences.
He would always find himself beside Ushijima as it seemed they always came in a pair. And he knew how different they were. Tendou was the lively one, while Ushijima remained as composed as ever. For a moment, he thought he’d never outdo the captain of the team, but Tendou had a girlfriend waiting for him, waiting for a message regarding his whereabouts.
That alone was enough to make him think he was ahead of the stoic captain. And as a serial dater, Tendou knows how girls turn into something else when their boyfriends don't text back in two minutes.
But when he took out his phone, it was dead.
So the horror that produced sweat on his forehead cascaded down from his neck, even in the temperature, was accompanied by a hammering chest. He knew he needed to shoot his girlfriend a message.
He was left with no choice but to ask Ushijima to borrow his phone. As he fumbled through his friend’s phone after he had no choice, something piqued his interest.
Tendou paid a short glance beside him and his mouth formed a sly smile. The shock mixed with amusement on his face was inexplicable when he saw the Tinder app on his best friend's phone. He covered his mouth to stifle a snort, careful not to wake passengers in their slumber in the back row, late at night from volleyball practice.
Ushijima directed his attention at Tendou, who was looking at him maliciously. The moment his eyes landed on the phone, he understood why.
He tried to hide his surprise, but failed miserably as he quickly tried to retrieve his phone back from Tendou.
Thanks to all the blocking techniques Tendou learned from the team, he held the phone as high as he could out of Ushijima's reach. There was no way Ushijima could retrieve his phone without pushing Tendou over and making a scene since he sat on the window side.
"Hm," Tendou teased. "Since when did you have this?"
"I don't know why it's in there. Give it back," Ushijima argued with a straight face, but the falter in his voice was enough to prove that he was lying. And he wasn't a good liar.
Tendou wiggled his brows, tilting his head. From Tendou's above peripheral, the app successfully loads, and he immediately turns his attention to it, raising it further from Ushijima's grasp.
He pressed on Ushijima's profile. Gods above, did it make him cringe, not to mention the photo Ushijima used for his profile taken about four years ago.
Ushijima, 20
Miyagi Region
"Ugh," Tendou released a sigh. "Have you ever dated anyone from here?"
Ushijima sighed, sitting straight as he set his head down, "No, I don't understand it. I only swiped, and then nothing."
So nobody swiped for him, Tendou thought, feeling both sorry and amused for his friend at the same time. He should change his picture on the app. He looks like an annoying know-it-all, 15 year old. Nobody would go for him.
"Well, that's why you have me," Tendou grinned and head-locked Ushijima. "I'm going to help you get a date!"
The volleyball captain slowly looked up at his friend, "How?"
Tendou only smiled, "Leave it to me."
All Ushijima could ever do was sigh and look over the window as the bus moved further away. He kept his eyes on the bright and warm lights of establishments outside that elongated from the bus’s movement.
He knew that fighting Tendou was futile. In all these years, he had known how the redhead always did whatever he wanted, and how he was good at getting all that. Besides, Ushijima felt too tired to argue anyway.
The continuous clicks of the camera brought his conscience back from almost spacing out. Immediately, he turned his head over to the source beside him to see a smiling Tendou holding his phone as if he’d just come up with something interesting of some sort.
“Did you know it's rude to take photos of somebody without their knowledge?”
The redhead only rolled his eyes with a grin, turning the phone over to Ushijima to show the new profile he’d arranged. "And did you know I only did that as a favor?"
His new bio now read:
Ushijima, 20
Miyagi Region
I must be in a museum because you are a work of art
The four year old photo he once had as his profile picture was now replaced with the one Tendou took.
It was Ushijima's side profile looking outside over the window. The lights of the establishments they passed through created a nostalgic aesthetic along with the slight blurriness of the photo, but never missing his straight, high nose and the sharpness of his jaw. Oh, and that aura of both seriousness and mysteriousness that Tendou knew would catch the attention of anyone who’d look at it.
Ushijima stared at the phone closely, reading the new bio Tendou wrote for him, "That doesn't feel like me at all."
Tendou ignored his friend's remark, giving the phone back to him. "Now try swiping again."
Ushijima took his phone back, observing what buttons to press as he had forgotten how to use the app between the long months since he used it. Finally, the profiles load and he's greeted with a certain boy with light brown hair looking rather cheerful in his picture.
Oikawa, 20
Miyagi Region
If nothing lasts forever, can you be my nothing? ;)
Ushijima scrunched his nose, making Tendou roll his eyes as he grabbed the phone back from him.
“You don’t just stare at it, okay?” He swipes right and a match appears, “See? You swipe and then that will appear if they like you too.”
“Why would they like me if they don’t even know me yet?” the captain asked, tilting his head to the side.
Tendou grimaced, looking a little funny at the innocent question asked of him. “They like your face, okay?” he replied. “Okay?”
*
Oikawa couldn’t remember how long he’d been talking to the brunette he met on Tinder. Yes, Ushijima was a dry texter, but for some reason, for some reason, he couldn’t stop himself from talking to him. Not even when every topic shifted to thinking if they’d ever had milk from the same cow. Because Ushijima took him to a place where he only knew two things: that he couldn’t stop smiling and couldn’t stop looking forward to all his replies.
The smell of sweat and the sounds of bouncing balls and shoes scraping against the gym floor sang around Oikawa as he made himself comfortably seated all alone on the bench, taking advantage of the fifteen-minute break the coach lent the team.
He laced his phone around his nimble fingers while the other danced around the clean, white towel he used to wipe his forehead before setting it down beside him, placing it along various colored tumblers that belonged to his teammates.
Iwaizumi watched Oikawa from a distance, gulping down on his tumbler, rivulets of water running down from his lips to his Adam's apple, all the way down to his chest. He narrowed his eyes at the flamboyant big shot as he lowered his drink.
He didn’t know why exactly, but there was something different about Oikawa today.
One could say that there was something quite off about the confident captain of the team. Usually, he’d be socializing with the team, or annoying Iwaizumi during breaks, but today he chose to confine himself in the corner, craving what little quiet the noisy gym could offer. Of course, underneath the winks, smiles, exaggerated swagger, and childish antics lies a much more serious persona for when a situation demands it, channeling all that bravado in his pursuit.
But what was so important that could possibly bring Oikawa’s tenacity and attention completely locked on his phone, which he hasn’t put down since the first minute? What could possibly have Oikawa on edge that he couldn’t keep his right heel from lifting and dropping over and over, restlessly?
Oikawa couldn’t stress how long he’d been waiting for Ushijima to ask him out. He wished to have Ushijima beside him, wished he could inhale his scent—and how he probably smelled of dark wood with a hint of vanilla, wished Ushijima’s fingers threaded his hair, and how he wished they were something more.
Truthfully, he couldn’t explain why he’s so intoxicated with the man. He couldn’t determine or distinguish the weight of various reasons why, as if translating them into words would be translating symbols into letters.
Perhaps, the first time Oikawa let himself be swayed by the awkward and dry texter was after he had only slipped into his blanket. Ready to go into a deep slumber after reviewing tapes of his enemy team a day before the match to chalk out strategies, when his phone lit up, the light coming from the screen illuminating a halo around the corner.
From: Ushijima (sent at 9:43pm)
No. You’re the only one I talk to.
His breathing hitched, and he rose as quickly as he laid on the bed. In the small light, his bronze eyes glittered. A corner of his mouth twitched upwards and he wondered, Only me?
Oikawa had teased Ushijima about staying up late to reply to others. Vague, but just the right words to get the exact answer he wanted from the male: if he’d been talking to anyone else other than him. But he found himself kept up by the lingering messages from Ushijima.
A few weeks after that conversation, and at the mention that Ushijima also played volleyball, here he sat anxiously alone on the gym bench, trying the same scheme yet again.
Another word, another hint that he was interested in meeting Ushijima.
To: Ushijima (sent at 4:30pm)
Yeah, volleyball is good! But I miss hanging out sometimes >_<
Oikawa bit his bottom lip, anxiously staring at his phone that had just shifted to a black screen as he waited for a reply. He sighed, dropping his eyelids as he slumped his shoulders back from all the tension he didn’t know had been building up.
His phone pinged, almost sending his body into a full gallop, immediately raising his gaze to the screen. His heart jumped at the sight of the text preview, Do you want to…
This is the moment. He’s finally going to ask me out. Oikawa smiled to himself, regaining his composure as he sat upright. He inhaled slowly, swiping his fingers to unlock the message. Nevermind the smell of sweat. This is the moment.
From: Ushijima (sent at 4:32pm)
Do you want to play volleyball?
Oh. The corners of his mouth dropped just as soon as they pulled upward at the reply. His shoulders sagged, setting his head down in disappointment. Oikawa couldn’t quite make it up, but sometimes, Ushijima seemed to be out of place.
Sometimes, he’d read signals as fast as he misinterpreted others.
This is hopeless, Oikawa laughed to himself. The array of possibilities he set for himself and Ushijima smeared like oil in the air, drowning out his suave as he tried to shut them all down. Then he tipped his head back, breathing in deep. Breathing in the disappointment, taking it into his head that Ushijima was most likely not at all interested in that way. Anxiety and embarrassment mingled into his chest.
But his phone pinged another time, and it sent his body into another jolt.
From: Ushijima (sent at 4:33pm)
I mean, do you want to go on a date?
And for a moment, he couldn’t breathe under the crushing weight that pushed in on him.
*
“Are you going on a date or to a Sunday morning service?” Tendou cackled as he watched Ushijima put on his necktie over his deep violet long sleeves he paired with black slacks, sitting comfortably on the bed.
Ushijima reciprocated Tendou's gaze through the full body mirror, his eyes squinted, fingers securing the knot of his tie, “What's wrong? Isn't this presentable?”
“Formal. Too formal!” he said as he raised his hands up to stress his remark, barely unable to stop the wide, malicious smile.
“Then tell me,” Ushijima sighed in defeat, realizing that his friend might be right. “What should I wear?”
He was so hopeless that Tendou wondered, What would he do without me? What would have become of him if it weren’t for me guiding him in the big world out there?
Tendou could go on and on about teasing Ushijima with the kind of clothing he chose to wear. Who goes to a date wearing a church outfit? But he saw how Ushijima needed genuine help and pushed his remarks to the side, lending his friend a helping hand on his first Tinder date.
Actually, his first date in general.
“You sound like that time when you finally asked your match out on a date,” Tendou chuckled. “Oh, it was thanks to me.”
Ushijima turned to face Tendou, “I thought it was obvious.”
“Obvious?” Tendou’s hand reached for his stomach as he laughed at his best friend’s words. “How is asking someone to play volleyball flirting? How is that considered flirting?”
Thanks to Tendou, Ushijima was able to make a correction. He was fast to take the latter’s phone in his hand and send another reply. The shock that reverberated into Tendou’s body only dispersed once they received an enthusiastic reply. A feeling that Ushijima would never have felt because of his inexperience.
“But I don’t just ask anyone to play volleyball,” Ushijima replied, tone low and neutral, completely clueless. If he was embarrassed, it didn’t show. Rather, his face remained distant as usual.
The red-haired cleared his throat. It was one of those rare moments when he thought he should be honest with Ushijima before he ventured into a world he hadn't stepped into: dating.
“You’re hopeless. But there’s one thing I can tell you,” Tendou clicked his tongue, eyes shifting left and right trying to search for the perfect words.
He weighed in the list of possibilities that could happen to Ushijima and his date. Of course, there was already a high probability that both of them would be as awkward as ever. But Tendou took notice of the amount of emojis Ushijima’s date uses, so he couldn’t be that boring.
Sometimes, there are just people who could make everything boring. Unfortunately, Ushijima was part of that.
Tendou chuckled inwardly at his thoughts.
Ushijima was intimidating, and he doesn’t speak much. But when he does, he can come off as blunt. He was the kind of man who spoke no lies. He didn’t hesitate to speak what’s on his mind. He didn’t have any concerns. Only that he disliked things he didn’t understand.
He had the oozing air of confidence and reliability about him. He was a fantastic player on the court, but he was just a regular person outside of that. And sometimes, Tendou wondered if Ushijima had any fun at all.
His scrutinizing gaze brought Ushijima’s eyes to meet his through the mirror as the lad unbuttoned his shirt to change. “Have fun.”
*
Oikawa’s blood pumped through him in a strange rhythm. With every step he took, his feet felt heavy, lightweight, soft, and hard all at once, dragging them to move. He was tizzy as he approached the cinema—where he and Ushijima agreed to meet, biting down on his bottom lip.
The man walking in front of him paid him a short glower as if he’d been suspecting Oikawa for his stalking gait. Oikawa reciprocated the man’s hostility with an apologetic smile, halting his steps and embracing the frigid weather around him.
He took in a few deep breaths as he closed his eyes. Then he opened them, and the big ‘CINEMA’ sign glowed red in the light of the dark and the busy streets and youth passing by.
The first snow still hasn’t touched the ground, but it was felt in the frigid cold. He posted himself beside the entrance. He could feel the warm temperature coming from inside the hall whenever the doors opened. There was that burning need to invite himself in, but he stood outside, patiently waiting in the cold.
All around him, there were laughs and smiles from people around his age. Mostly couples, but he spotted friends who came in groups. Some were buying tickets from the booth manned by a straight-faced fellow, who impassively bid goodbye by saying, “Enjoy your movie.”
Some, he guessed, were waiting for someone. The restless tapping of their foot against the ground, the constant checking of time, and the biting of their lips. All of which Oikawa recognized. Because he was doing the same thing.
He raised his left hand, pushing aside his long, blue sweater sleeves to reveal his leather watch, “6:47…” he whispered.
There were still thirteen minutes left to see Ushijima for the first time. Thirteen minutes to hold on to his dear sanity.
He tapped his foot restlessly against the pavement once more, releasing another breath that condensed in the air, making him push his khaki scarf upwards to cover his mouth.
As soon as he raised his gaze towards what’s in front of him, he saw the man he’d been yearning to see. Behind the screen. Behind all those words. Behind all the smiles. And on that cold night, he saw him for the first time.
Oikawa’s eyes widened as he watched Ushijima from only eight feet away.
Ushijima’s body was turned to the side, giving Oikawa only the picture of his long coat, cropped light-colored trousers, and loafers. His side profile boasted that high nose and that brown hair—and Oikawa wondered if it was as smooth as it looked.
It’s literally unfair how attractive he is, Oikawa groaned in his thoughts. He knew how strange it was to look at Ushijima. But he found difficulty in not staring at him. He couldn’t find the courage to tear his gaze away from him. Not when Ushijima had that mesmerizing aura about him.
He was all too aware of how cliche he sounded, and he smiled like a fool when he realized that, maybe, he liked it. And he was still smiling like a fool when Ushijma whipped his head in his direction, locking their gazes.
Ushijima narrowed his eyes, making Oikawa’s smile drop as soon as he realized. But Ushijima was already walking toward him, and Oikawa couldn’t breathe.
“Good evening,” Ushijima greeted as soon as he was in front of Oikawa. If he was nervous, if he was shy, it didn’t show.
Oikawa noted the aura Ushijima emitted. He was, perhaps, more than what he had expected. A little too unreal, maybe. He swallowed, but his throat was too dry. “Hello…”
Ushijima’s lips twitched a little upwards. Even as he smiled, there was still something serious left in the air. “Have you been waiting long?” he checked his watch then returned to the speechless Oikawa.
He’s so pretty. I think I’m gonna faint, Oikawa thought before he realized he was asked a question. He shook his head to disperse himself of unwanted thoughts, creasing his brows as he leaned a little forward. Ushijima’s scented soap caressed his nose, a touch of wood… and is that baby powder? “I’m sorry. What was that?”
“Have you been waiting long?” Ushijima repeated.
“Oh. No,” Oikawa retreated. “No, I haven’t. I just got here,” he chuckled, trying to conceal the awkwardness in his tone. Feeling a little anxious, he asked, “And you?”
“I also just got here,” Ushijima answered dryly. Then his eyes went past Oikawa, and both felt the warm temperature from inside the hall, the noises sounding louder as the door swung open before it shut on its own and the noises died down with it.
Ushijima brought his gaze back to Oikawa, “Would you like to go inside? I’ve got the tickets.”
“Sure…” Oikawa smiled awkwardly.
Ushijima pushed the door open for Oikawa, to which he thanked him for. As soon as Ushijima couldn’t see his face, he closed his eyes in frustration. Say something!
Oikawa found himself speechless around Ushijima. It seemed like all of his confidence had died at the very sight of him. There was something intimidating about Ushijima that he couldn’t quite explain.
Yes, he’d been waiting for this moment for so long. And he hated himself for feeling as if he wasn’t even trying hard to connect with him.
The thundering drum in his heart pulsed through his ears, drowning out the sound of talks and the smell of popcorn invading his nose. He was shifting his weight from one foot to another as they waited in line for the cinema room, pocketing his trembling hands as he started at his feet.
He squeezed the bridge of his nose with two fingers, then lifted his head as he smiled at the staff that manned the entrance to the cinema room before following Ushijima ahead. His throat was tight in nervousness—a feeling he wasn’t very much familiar with—even as they sat in their seats.
Oikawa shifted his gaze over to Ushijima, and found he kept his eyes on the big screen, the flickering light from the changing scenes illuminated the planes of his face. He could watch Ushijima the entire time. Nevermind that Romeo and Juliet movie using the original dialogue. He couldn’t even understand it.
Then his eyes shifted towards his hand that rested on the recliner, making him frown. Since the movie started, he already placed his hand where Ushijima could hold it. But the movie was probably half over already, and nothing.
A child’s cry drowned the actors’ voices and shook the whole cinema, turning everyone’s attention to the source in the row behind them. Only Ushijima did not bother to pay a glance towards the disturbance.
Oikawa thought, Why make a child watch Romeo and Juliet?
He stifled a laugh and his hand flew to cover the corners of his mouth from twitching upwards as cheese popcorn fell from right above Ushijima’s head.
That was all it took to have Ushijima turn his attention to the annoying child. The audience expressed annoyance through angry muffles, but Ushijima remained calm and collected, politely accepting apologies from the man, whom Oikawa guessed as the father, as he tried to soothe the crying child.
Ushijima caught Oikawa’s attention, but it was too late for him to hide his smile. Oikawa laughed awkwardly, then hoisted his drink he hadn’t touched from the recliner to hand over to Ushijima.
“Drink water,” he said even as he himself was dehydrated.
*
Musicians took up spots inside the restaurant that Ushijima booked for the date. The room was filled with a blend of soft conversations, the clang of plates, and violins. Such a beautiful sound, if only that one musician knew how to carry a tune.
Oikawa and Ushijima kept straight faces, looking at each other as if they could tell what the other was thinking.
It was grand, but terrible. The dishes were too small. Certainly not enough to satiate their hunger. And that music? Gods above.
He registered the change in Ushijima’s face as he watched him intently across the table that separated them both. His ears were turning a little red, his forearms braced on the table. While Oikawa, on the other hand, leaned on the back of his chair, sitting like a king.
“How do you do it?” Ushijima asked quietly, his eyes almost pleading.
“Do what?” Oikawa grinned, raising his head high, teasing.
Ushijima gave him a slow smile and a flicker of light moved across his eyes, “How do you ignore that irritating sound?”
“My teammates are louder, and much more annoying than that,” Oikawa laughed, stealing another glance at the stressed-out musicians who wasted no time in poking at the one who couldn’t play the right strings. He would’ve felt sorry for him, really, had it not sparked an interesting conversation between him and Ushijima.
Ushijima traced the rim of his glass, “Louder and annoying?” his brows narrowed slightly.
“So,” Oikawa tilted his head, keeping a smile on his face as he recalled moments he spent with the team. “There was this one time when we went to a training camp. And I couldn’t sleep on the bus because they were all so obnoxiously loud and kept singing.”
Oikawa was the leader of that fiasco, but he would never admit to it.
“I had to snap their foreheads one by one to make them stop,” he shrugged. “It was fun though.”
“You have a very different definition of fun,” Ushijima chuckled, so soft and so mellow. The sound was better than the horrible quartet playing in the background, and Oikawa wanted to hear it again.
“Well,” Ushijima started, “do you want to get out of here?”
Somehow, it didn’t seem like goodbye.
*
“Wait!” Oikawa laughed when the tail of the scarf around his neck got caught in between the restaurant door they walked through.
Ushijima took a step closer, opening the door for Oikawa to pull out his scarf. A slash of a grin spread across his face, “What are you doing?”
Oikawa could only laugh as Ushijima stared at him with the same intensity. They stood in front of each other. No words, just stillness. But they were sure something changed. Even when they’ve only had a short time to get to know each other.
From the short distance that separated them, Oikawa watched as Ushijima’s brown eyes turned molten from the warm lights all around them. He couldn’t brush off the rush of having Ushijima look only at him, trying not to get lost in those strange, enticing eyes.
Oikawa winced as a gust of icy wind blew the tail of his scarf and froze his ears. He took that sign as an opportunity to pull it tightly around him.
“Walk with me?” he asked gently.
“I would love to,” Ushijima nodded. “But I’m afraid you would have to lead me instead. I’m not quite familiar with the road down there.”
Oikawa smiled even as he rolled his eyes, “Don’t tell me you’re the kind who gets picked up?”
Ushijima tucked his hand behind his back as they strode forward through the cobbled streets. He fumbled for words, but he did not drop his grin as the golden lights twinkled across the city, “Not really.”
“And I’m supposed to believe that?”
“Do you have a reason not to?”
“Okay, you’re good,” Oikawa complimented when he couldn’t counter his quick remark.
“Thank you,” Ushijima chuckled, deep and slow.
Oikawa frowned, “You actually look more handsome with honesty on your face.”
“I do?” Ushijima grinned, boasting those white teeth, brows knotting.
“Yeah, yeah,” Oikawa waved him off. “You’re cute. Stop smiling at me like that,” he added, averting his gaze from Ushijima. “Your lack of self-awareness is deeply troubling.”
Ushijima pocketed his hands, “And you? Are you honest?”
“Yeah, I mean,” Oikawa shrugged and smiled roguishly, keeping his gaze on the lights ahead. From a distance, he could see the head of the illuminated fountain by the park they were nearing. “Maybe I’ll just be straightforward about taking advantage of you.”
Ushijima laughed but said nothing. No one spoke as they realized that the space between them felt strangely intimate.
“What about the violin in the restaurant earlier, huh?” Oikawa followed with a tease.
“What on earth,” Ushijima drawled, sounding exasperated, “is all I have to say to that.”
With a turn around the hedge, the gush of water from the fountain park enticed them both. A strong gust of wind made them feel that the air had turned colder with the time, ripping through them as they observed the golden lit decorations surrounding the park.
“Do you want to..?” Ushijima didn’t finish the words, extending his arm and pointing his index towards the brightly lit fountain.
Their date should have ended the moment they stepped out of the restaurant. But the beautiful fountain in the center illuminating their faces signaled that it had only just begun.
Before Oikawa could sit on an empty bench—only a few feet away from the fountain, Ushijima dusted it with his hand, making his date smile appreciatively at the effort. In the touch of freezing cold, it became their spot to just sit and watch the fountain as a silent acknowledgement that neither were ready to part ways just yet.
“So,” Oikawa said as he crossed his legs, turning to Ushijima as the latter sat down. “Tell me more about you.”
“About me?” Ushijima’s brows creased, setting his eyes on his hands that rested in his lap. Oikawa realized how there was no progress in terms of skinship between them, but he wasn’t complaining. “There’s nothing much about me, really.”
“Impossible,” Oikawa shook his head. “There’s never nothing about anything or anyone.”
Oikawa’s eyes glittered as he stared at Ushijima’s hand, and his heartbeat quickened when his gaze rose to his face.
“How about us?” Ushijima asked.
A flush of pink bloomed on his cheeks as his heart hammered against his ribcage. He hadn’t been expecting such an honest question, such a question that flushed all the bravado he tried so hard to muster.
“Is there a reason you’re blushing like that?” Ushijima tilted his head.
Oikawa kept his gaze averted, biting his full bottom lip. Because of you!
“Oikawa?” Ushijima called.
He tried not to let it show what it did to him to have Ushijima remember his name. Or to hear him say it. To have him let out the words from his lips.
“Are you okay?” Ushijima asked, but made no move to touch him.
Good. Because Oikawa wasn’t entirely certain he could handle his heat hovering against him. He took a breath, and that same impish grin swiped back. “You should know by now,” he teased.
The silence that followed after didn’t lay as heavy as it used to be. Instead, Oikawa straightened himself, resting a hand on the bench in the short distance separating both, gazing at the fountain that kept them company.
“I like mushroom risotto,” he said out of the blue.
“Mushroom risotto?”
“Mushroom risotto,” he repeated, still keeping his eyes averted.
There was a short pause before Ushijima spoke, “Did you know that mushrooms are made up of 90% water?”
Do you want to go try mushroom risotto next time? Do you want me to bring that for you one day? Do you want me to cook that for you? Such questions were what he thought would’ve followed next. Questions that would make them meet each other again. Never a random fact he didn’t expect.
Oikawa turned his head towards his date. “What?” He choked on a laugh as he asked it.
“Yeah,” Ushijima gruffed, completely unaware of what left Oikawa in disbelief. “They’re also a fungus. Did you know?”
“No,” Oikawa shook his head. “I didn’t.”
“We should forage for mushrooms next time.”
Next time, the words rang in Oikawa’s head. Next time.
“And you?” Oikawa followed. “What’s your favorite food?”
“Curry,” his date answered plainly, his free hand discreetly traveling towards Oikawa’s hand on the bench.
A faint warmth bloomed in his chest. The brief touch of Ushijima’s fingers through Oikawa sent a pang of desire through him so strong he wanted to pull him in closer. It had taken all of him, all his self control to keep his breathing steady as he gazed back at the fountain.
That was all it took to have Oikawa’s gaze back at the fountain again, “These lights are familiar,” he started. “From my recitals from those years ago. It’s kinda nostalgic.”
When Ushijima didn’t say anything, he took it upon himself to turn his head back towards him. With the look written across Ushijima’s face and those eyes, he understood.
“I will pretend I haven’t heard the question in your eyes,” he groaned.
“No, tell me,” Ushijima leaned a little forward.
“It’s nothing, really. I just took up dancing a while back. Then I shifted to volleyball,” he eyed him, searching for any sign of mockery.
“Dancing?” Ushijima pondered, running a finger along his lips—the sight making Oikawa swallow—before returning his gaze to the other, “Could you, perhaps, show me?”
“What?” Oikawa asked in disbelief, turning left and right. “Here?”
Ushijima nodded.
“What?” he shook his head. “No!”
But Ushijima stood up and offered his hand. Oikawa stared at it for a moment, creasing his brows, but a ghost of a smile remained plastered across his lips. He looked around, searching for prying heads.
“There are people,” he argued in a whisper.
Ushijima shrugged, “People are too busy to care about anyone other than themselves.”
Oikawa let out a long sigh before he took Ushijima’s hand. Narrowing his eyes, he said, “Fine.”
He cleared his throat and lumbered, positioning himself in the center from where they stood. Ushijima could never tell him, but he looked like a perfect decoration in front of the fountain behind him.
Oikawa gazed across the stone pavement. Sliding his foot back and the other forward, he extended his arms in front in a smooth motion that truly suggested he had some background in the art. He was dancing, then his arms were flailing in the sky with feline grace. His scarf spun around him as he whirled, and he was thankful for the cold that he wouldn’t sweat. He felt like flying, until the ground was beneath his feet again.
He couldn’t remember the last time he’d done this. And why did he stop?
Ushijima stared at the slightly breathless wonder in front of him as he skidded to a halt. His eyes twinkled, just a bit—in a way they usually did when he was amused but tried hard not to be.
Oikawa looked spectacular. Utterly and completely spectacular. A little stiff on the edges, but spectacular.
Oikawa picked up his scarf that fell on the ground. Then his eyes rested on Ushijima, whose hands were pocketed in his coat. A tug on the corner of his lips issued the bravado he’d been keeping.
“What? Amused?” he teased with a conspirator’s grin when he closed the final distance between them.
Ushijima just stared at him, taking in the warm gleam in his eyes. He said nothing, but his hand flew to Oikawa’s scarf. Both said nothing as Ushijima wrapped the it around him, “It always becomes loose when you’re the one putting it on.”
A delicious heat kissed its way down Oikawa’s neck to his spine as if there was some warmth left despite the winter.
“Perhaps I will take up dancing again,” he said in a little more than a whisper, his throat constricting at the moment.
A hush had fallen between them, but Oikawa felt as if there was something inside him that found it to be a perfect piece in their merriment. It went beyond his expectations. He enjoyed his time with Ushijima.
“Let’s take you home,” Ushijima said and Oikawa only nodded.
The streets were too quiet this time of the night—so quiet that only their footsteps and chuckles and moments of conversation lingered in the sleeping city. They were still talking and laughing, and it had been that way since they left the park, stepping forward with the wings of conversation.
“What was your favorite part?” Ushijima asked, his eyes not on the streets before him but on Oikawa. Such wild ecstasy, he noted.
Oikawa paused, his brows creasing as Ushijima waited for his answer, thinking. Then his eyes widened and met Ushijima’s, “Oh, you mean the movie?”
Ushijima only chuckled, “Yes, the movie.”
“Not the baby?”
“Yeah, and maybe that too,” a faint smile stretched Ushijima’s lips.
“Hmm, let’s see,” Oikawa looked forward, brows knotting yet again as he acted. His finger tapped on his lip in a way that forced Ushijima to remind himself to keep his focus on Oikawa’s eyes, “I like the part where the dad,” he stared back at Ushijima, “picked up the baby and they went outside. That scene was amazing!”
Ushijima chuckled, looking away from him and Oikawa realized how manly Ushijima’s voice was. Then Oikawa’s eyes scanned the street before him, how the establishments and the crooked, dark streets were becoming more and more familiar to him.
“You laughed at me earlier,” there was a hint of a smile on Ushijima’s lips.
Oikawa felt a little embarrassed, but he laughed, “You’ve gotta admit. It was kind of funny.”
“It was fine,” Oikawa answered seriously.
“Same here.”
“No way. I thought you liked Shakespeare,” he said in disbelief.
“I thought you liked Shakespeare,” Ushijima countered.
He assumed that Oikawa was interested in Shakespeare because, sometimes, he would post quotes from Romeo and Juliet. What Ushijima didn’t know was that: it was Oikawa’s literature teacher who originally posted those, and he only wanted to get on their good side.
“It took me some time to understand the words,” Oikawa admitted.
Ushijima’s smile widened, revealing his white teeth, “For saints have hands that pilgrims’ hands do touch, and palm to palm is holy palmers’ kiss.”
Oikawa’s hand flew to his mouth that went agape, “How did you memorize that?” he asked with amusement in his eyes.
“Say your lines,” Ushijima urged him.
“You are reciting Juliet’s lines,” Oikawa narrowed his eyes in thought, but the grin didn’t disappear from his lips.
“Say your lines,” Ushijima repeated, ignoring his remark.
Oikawa rolled his eyes, his brows knotting trying to remember the right words, “Have not saints lips, and holy palmers too?”
“Ay, pilgrim, lips that they must use in prayer.”
“You’re annoying. Mine is long,” he frowned at how fast Ushijima replied and how long he remembered the next line was. But it took only one grin from Ushijima and he started speaking.
“Something. Something,” his eyes almost bawled upwards trying to remember the words. “Let lips do what hands do. Uh. They pray grant thou, lest faith turn to despair..?” he finished with uncertainty. “Wait. How do you even memorize these?”
“Saints do not move, though grant for prayer's sake,” Ushijima continued.
“Then move not, while my prayers’ effect I take,” Oikawa grinned with how fast he recited the lines as he halted in front of his house and Ushijima did the same.
“Thus, from my lips,” Ushijima said hoarsely. Oikawa didn’t mean to, but his eyes went down to Ushijima’s lips, “by thine, my sin is purged.”
His heartbeat quickened when his gaze rose to Ushijima’s eyes, “Then have my lips the sin that they have took,” he said in a little more than a whisper.
The night was honest and his eyes whispered of how they met, how there was an unspoken understanding between them. And being with Ushijma was like staying in the rain, he still wanted to be in it one more time.
Through a clearing in the skies, clusters of stars could be seen and the sliver of the crescent moon shone above them as they stepped into the pool of moonlight.
“Good night,” Ushijima said. “You’re probably tired.”
But he was not tired, he was not done. There was still greed and want inside of him that made him want to pull Ushijima closer. The longing for a wave of touch and friction of joy that only grew bigger and bigger by the minute.
“Good night,” was all he replied, his voice so soft and mellow.
Oikawa turned his back on Ushijima, his steps feeling heavier by the minute as he trudged away from him. But he looked back, and the greed must have shown because Ushijima stood there, watching him, thinking.
He grinned and crossed his arms, “You do realize what time it is, right?”
Ushijima shrugged and pocketed his hands, “I just want to see you walk in.”
That was all it took for Oikawa to do the opposite. He went closer to Ushijima, closing the gap between them. There was only the absence of conversation and how much he wanted to touch Ushijima.
“It was enchanting to meet you,” Ushijima said quietly before his ears filled with the softness of Oikawa’s laughter.
“Do you know how cliche you sound, Romeo?” he teased.
Oikawa watched the way Ushijima’s lips widened in a smile and died down slowly.
“I think,” Ushijima started, the words were barely more than a strangled whisper, “I like you a lot.”
The longing blinded him, and he flung himself on Ushijima, breathing in his scent and the slight trace of cheese in him. He memorized the feel of him and the heat of Ushijima’s body hovering over him.
“We probably should just go to McDonald’s next time,” he teased.
“As long as I’m with you,” Ushijima chuckled against Oikawa’s lips. “I would like that very much.”
It was only that, and their lips touched.

"Are you serious? You really did that?" Danika asked, grinning with wide eyes.
Jacqueline roared with laughter, nodding.
"Yup" was all Krysa had to say.
They were on the road again, with Krysanthe driving this time while Jac hung out in the passenger side and Danika kept her place in the backseat. The heiress had gotten hungry and started snacking on the food her aunt had packed for her which consisted of bread and homemade dip, fruits and little brownie slices. At the sound of crunching Jac immediately turned in her seat to see what was making the noise and when Danika realized Jac was watching her, she offered her treats without hesitation. To which Jacqueline descended upon with much gusto. The brunette, as she devoured Danika's food, would feed Krysanthe too.
As they continued to eat and began talking, they relaxed more and more around each other eventually getting into deeper topics.
One topic in particular, that was surprising to Danika, was the incident that made Krysa say no initially.
"Then what happened?" Danika scooted closer.
"Okay so on the way from the party with my friends, or the people who I thought were my friends, stopped at Gilded because Rhian asked me to bring her some documents. She had thought that I was at study date and I didn't want to tell her the truth. I always felt like she saw me as someone else, she had expectations of me and I didn't want to disappoint her." Krysa paused "Anyway, we got to the store and we've been drinking so you know this won't end well" she gave a humourless chuckle.
'My friends thought it would be fun to keep drinking, I got pressured into it and then I blacked out. When I woke, Rhian was there and I had never seen her look so furious." she said "We trashed the whole place and my so called friends, uh, " she paused, tilting her head up slightly, squinting "Th-threw me under the bus?" she turned to Jac who nodded, tossing another grape in her mouth.
"I was in real trouble but Rhian, even though she didn't have to, helped ease my punishment so I just had a lot of community service hours. Since then I was no longer allowed to come into the shop without Rhian there."
"I'm sorry, Krysa. That must have been hard" Danika said quietly.
"No, no I deserved that" Krysa insisted
"But it's been years" Jacqueline argued "You think she would go easier on you now"
"I broke her trust, Jac. That isn't an easy thing to forgive"
Jac didn't respond right away "...you're also talking about that guy from London, right?"
Krysa's head snapped to Jac's direction to glare at her.
"What's the deal with this guy anyway? Bad break-up?" Danika asked
Jacqueline grinned as Krysa's glare slowly turned annoyed. The curly blonde let out an exasperated sigh but relented. "I met him when I was attending university in London. I was working as a waitress at the time, and he saved me from some grabby customers."
Danika watched in amazement as Krysa's cheeks darkened, she saw Jac's eyes widened from the rearview mirror and both girls shared a look. The man who made Krysanthe blush must have been really special to her.
"Our situation wasn't exactly stable. After graduation I would be coming home to the Isle and he was there to temporarily oversee the security of his cousin's new building after that he was supposed to go home so we tried to just be friends but..."
"You caught feelings!" Jac squealed
"Yes. Another problem was that we butted heads often, he was a bit of grouch and he thought I was a little stuck up"
The other two girls shared another look but otherwise stayed silent.
"It was the night of my graduation where things blew up. We argued, he went to work and after a while I decided to see him and apologize, when I got there I overheard him talking about me and what he said made me feel horrible. I left without seeing him, packed up and headed back to Ireland that very night" she finished nonchalantly with a shrug.
"Dude, that sucks. I had no idea" Jac breathed "Did he ever look for you?"
Krysa shook her head "Not to my knowledge"
Danika bit her lip, there was nothing she could say that felt appropriate. The heiress was at a loss, this wasn't a situation she was familiar with. All the youngest of the three could do was squeeze Krysa's arm comfortingly.
Krysanthe looked startled when Danika did this but then smiled reassuringly at her for a moment before turning her attention to the road.
"Guys, it's okay I don't-"the florist squeaked when a loud noise suddenly erupted behind them and fought to control the car. The truck screeched to a stop on the side of the road.
Jac and Krysa both went out to check on their situation.
Danika jumped when she heard Jacqueline swear loudly, causing her to come out as well. She saw Krysa standing at the side eyeing the side while she crossed her arms
Danika then saw Jacqueline opening the trunk.
The blonde moved closer and gasped at the sight of the blown tire "What can we do?"
Jacqueline didn't answer, instead she climbed the back of the truck and rolled a spare tire to the edge "Well you can sit your pretty butt to the side and let us handle this". Krysa moved forward to take the tire, grunting as she lifted it out of the truck and stumbled to set it down.
"Could you teach me?" Danika asked "To change a tire I mean"
Jac and Krysa paused to stare at the younger blonde, a big grin spread across Jacqueline's face while Krysanthe had an intrigued look on her face.
"Alright, kid." Jac reached back into the truck an odd looking X shaped tool "Get ready for a life skill lesson"
A little while later, with Jac's eventual intervention, Krysa's truck had a new tire and Danika learned the basics of tire changing.
The two blondes gave a cheer when Jac finished tightening the last bolt.
"We are ready to go" the tallest of the three grunted before pulling the wrench away. "Let's just load up the stuff and we'll get going"
Danika moved forward to help her when a feeling came over her, cold sweat began to bead at her forehead, she shuddered at the feeling of eyes watching her. The blonde turned, but all she saw was the shrubbery and trees.
A dark presence was within those woods, Danika turned back to Jac and Krysa the brunette was fine and unaffected by the presence in the woods but Krysa looked uneasy, peeking at the woods from the corner of her eye.
The unease never went away from either girls, not that Jac noticed, even as they drove away from that place, a the dark presence followed behind. Taglist: @mel-writes-with-her-dragons @woodhousejay @dustylovelyrun

Fair Game Drabble - Cold
This one goes to @theonceoverthinker who sent me this cheeky prompt:
Tumblr media
So yes, for those of you asking in my inbox, I am still doing drabbles. My turnaround rate is just slow as shit at the moment, lol. But keep sending in your requests and I will get to all of them as soon as I can.
This one turned out differently than I expected but hopefully, you all still enjoy!
Story under the cut.
Prompt: Cold
Qrow maintained his distance while the landing crew loaded the crates onto the transport. His Semblance had been manageable enough for this particular mission but no point tempting fate. Especially with an airship packed full of volatile Dust about to take off. If there was ever a freak accident waiting to happen, this would be it.
He tried to keep his attention on the tundra. Even in this flat snow-encrusted wasteland, a Grimm might pop out of a hole in the ground and catch them off guard. Maybe. But his eyes invariably drifted back to the airship. Or, more accurately, back to Clover.
Clover, who was lifting the last of the crates into the transport by himself.
Clover, whose arms Qrow was not staring at.
Clover fucking Ebi, who he still couldn’t quite figure out.
Clover set the final container inside the airship and then turned to him and gestured inside. There was a small space left amidst all the crates, big enough for one person to stand in comfortably. Or two if they stood very, very close.
“Do you want to go back now?” he asked. “It will be a tight fit, but I don’t mind.”
Anyone who didn’t know what to look for would have missed it: the slight drop in Clover’s voice, the way his easy smile became edged with something… more. Of all the things Qrow didn’t understand about him, at least that wasn’t much of a riddle.
Qrow snorted and shook his head. “That thing is begging for a technical malfunction. Trust me, you don’t want me in it.”
Clover shrugged as if that was the answer he had been expecting and reached inside to grab a small pack from one of the bench compartments. He called in to tell the pilots to go ahead, then turned and slammed his fist against the side of the airship and grinned at him as the door slid obediently back into place.
Qrow rolled his eyes. Gods, he was obnoxious. And attractive. Obnoxiously attractive.
Clover moved back and gave the pilots the all-clear signal, and the ship lifted into the air and swiveled back towards the golden glow of Mantle and Atlas to the south, leaving them to the unique silence of the Solitas wilderness.
“Our transport should be about twenty minutes out,” Clover said as he rejoined him. He dug into the pack and pulled out a small military-grade space heater, and set it in the snow between them, turned towards Qrow. A soft wave of warm air wrapped around his legs almost immediately.
Qrow hummed and shifted a little closer to it. He tilted his head back and released a deliberate breath into the night air, where it fogged against the smattering of stars that peeked through a hole in the clouds.
“No rush,” he said.
Clover smirked. “You’re really not a fan of the city, are you?”
Qrow shrugged. “Nothing against them, really. But dense populations and I usually don’t mix well.”
“Because of your Semblance?”
He nodded absently and they lapsed into a familiar, comfortable silence, only… this one felt different somehow. Almost anticipatory. Clover stood on the opposite side of the space-heater with his arms crossed loosely over his chest. He was making a show of not looking at him, gaze drifting across the tundra or up into the sky as if he thought the transport might have caught a lucky microburst that cut their travel time down by ninety percent. He looked… a little too content. Qrow kept his expression neutral and watched him in his periphery. Two could play that game.
Whatever the hell the game was.
Long minutes passed. After a bit, his focus became split between trying to figure out what Clover was trying to do and cursing the fact that, while the space heater was doing wonder for his legs, it only increased his awareness of the frigid air against his upper body. He pulled his hands from his pockets and wiggled his fingers to increase the blood flow. His body demanded more but he flat-out refused to dance around from foot-to-foot like a child, especially when he still didn’t know what his partner was playing at.
He glared down at the space heater. Why the hell didn’t these things have a more upward flow? Fat load of good it would do to keep his legs warm if the rest of him froze above the waist. The gesture had been sweet and all but now he was beginning to wonder if…
Qrow spun on him. “You absolute bastard.”
Clover broke into a loud, full-bodied laugh. The sound spread out across the tundra and might have been contagious if it hadn’t been coming from the world’s biggest asshole.
“I’m sorry,” Clover said, the words staggered around his laughter. “I didn’t think it would make it that much worse.”
“No, you’re not,” Qrow snapped. “And yes, you did.”
Clover couldn’t even muster up enough control to deny it a second time. He doubled over and clutched at his stomach, struggling to breathe. On impulse, Qrow bent down, scooped up a handful of snow, and lobbed it at his stupid, perfect face. Clover dodged half-heartedly and some of it landed, powdering in his hair and melting on his skin to drip down the front of his shirt. Which only pissed Qrow off more.
He jammed his freezing hands under his arms and scowled, shuffling away from the space heater out of sheer spite. “Ass.”
“Okay, wait, I’m sorry,” Clover said.
He didn’t sound sorry. He sounded like he thought he was the funniest person alive. But he picked up the space heater and fiddled with it, then moved over to him and set it back down. This time, the heat swept over Qrow’s entire body and it took everything in him not to groan. Instead, he narrowed his eyes at Clover, which had no impact whatsoever on his smug grin.
“You’re a dick, Ebi.”
“And you’re stubborn,” Clover said. “I was starting to think I’d have to thaw you out in the transport.”
Qrow bit the inside of his cheek and gave him the most murderous glare he could conjure. Why the hell was he fighting off a smile? What sort of bizarre effect did this man have on him?
Clover’s expression softened in real apology and he reached for Qrow’s hands and drew them gently into his own. Holding Qrow’s gaze, he lifted them to his mouth and breathed against his fingers, close enough that lips brushed sensitive skin.
A small, strained laugh came from the back of Qrow’s throat and he shook his head.
Clover blew another hot breath against his hands and raised his eyebrows in a look of such exaggerated mock innocence, he almost came full circle to obscene. “Something funny?”
“I can’t tell if you think you’re being subtle or if you really don’t give a shit.”
Clover laughed again and this time the warmth of it pressed into Qrow through his fingertips. He released his hands and retreated to the pack, returning with a heavy woolen blanket that he shook out and threw around Qrow’s shoulders. He helped situate it and then very lightly dragged his thumb along the underside of Qrow’s jaw.
“For better or worse, subtlety has never been my strong suit,” he said. “Not with this, anyway. But if you’re lodging a complaint, I can try to be a little more mysterious.”
He winked but his smile this time was warm and open, all pretenses dropped. Even the soldier’s mask fell away. And for a breathtaking moment only Clover Ebi stood in front of him, the person Qrow had been trying to see for the past several weeks bare and undisguised. He was... stunning.
Shit, Qrow thought. I am so screwed.
Later, he would blame what happened next on that gravitational pull he had felt from the day they had worked the SDC mine mission together. Qrow closed the distance between them and threw one half of the blanket over Clover, then leaned against him, experimenting, curious. He hadn’t done this in a very long time. Clover stood stiff for half a heartbeat. Surprised, hopefully. Confused would be even better. Let him feel thrown for a change. Then warm hands settled gently on Qrow’s back and pulled him closer.
He laid his head on Clover’s shoulder, nose barely brushing the side of his neck, and let himself settle into his arms.
“Never really been a fan of mystery,” he said.
End
--------------------------------------
In my head, Clover and Qrow are totally one of those couples who enjoy pulling shit on each other now and then. They’re not quite together yet here, but the interest is known and mutual. So, Jenna, you can take this as the very first time Clover helps Qrow get warm (after being a bit of a brat about it).
So there you have it!
I’m going to try to tackle prompts people send in the order that I receive them, so up next is one from @maracamilkshake about game night at the Rose/Xiao-long/Branwen household! I’m excited to play with that one.
Note, I might post some shorter things I take upon myself to write in between prompts people send. It really just depends on where my head is at. But I will get to everything in my inbox so keep those requests coming!
And finally, if you want to be tagged, just send me a message or comment on this post and I’ll happily add you to the list.

Tumblr media
“Good morning my beautiful friend!” Mel half shouted, stretching my body out smiling “I just woke up, you are lucky” I sound terrible “its birthday eve” Mel made her way around the bed “yay” I sound deflated “I think I am unwell, well getting there” Mel got into the bed with me “birthday snuggles” Mel hugged me “I know I am not Chris, but I can give you snuggles, also. You really haven’t spoke on what went down since you came back, that was like two days ago?” yanking the covers back away from my neck “no fucking way!” Mel spat, she is staring at my neck like I did something awful, but it looks awful somewhat “this is Chris sucking the life out of my neck, like I noticed. Some parts you can see his damn overbite on my neck, he just likes my neck, but I have been covering it up for a while now, I didn’t want to be judged, like now” Mel is shocked “I have seen hickeys but to this extent, chile. That is crazy, he was having a feast” I breathed out laughing “I know, trust me. But Chris is actually my boyfriend now, he asked me out and I said yes” Mel nodded her head “right, but why do you seem so..” she dragged out “deflated, what happened? Did something go wrong or something between you both?” rolling my eyes “Chris being Chris, he has an issue with me being famous, that is it. Like forget about the none famous niggas, they have issues too. So yeah we had such a good time, we had so much sex as you can see from my neck, and then on the last day he got me breakfast in bed, got me such cute gifts. I was loving life; you hear the word was?” Mel nodded her head “so I was loving life, and everything seemed to be just great and then, this nigga turned around and said. I don’t want you to get pregnant, and the manner he said it. He just blurted it out, and he was dead ass too acting like what he was saying is fine, he just said I don’t want you pregnant so yeah, mind you we have had sex raw, constantly too. He just blew my fucking bubble, and he does this every time on the last day, then he started to pick on why I was texting Rakim, like I had to tell Rakim because it looked bad, we just split too, he was fine with it. then he told me he fucked his ex before seeing me in New York, he was just being do hateful to hurt me, and yes I cried” my bedroom door opened so I stopped speaking “morning bitches, you want me to bring the breakfast to you?” Sonita asked, shaking my head “I will be out” that has cut the conversation now “ok, you both look so deep in conversation, my bad” she is right, we were.
The door closed “this is why you was so quiet; you know I am here for you Robyn. You should have spoken to me” Mel is right “I know but I needed time to process things, I am giving him a chance. Like I told him I am going Barbados but that wasn’t the case, we came Mexico so when I told him plans changed on text he goes oh, so going there? What is there, like nigga nothing is here but good vibes. This y’all surprise I ain’t questioning it. He did this time text me if I am ok though so that is something but we had it out, I told him that I won’t have this again. I won’t have a man like Rakim again, I told him that he needs to think what he wants, if he wants me and he said does. That is what we were speaking on outside and we were hugging, he was sorry about it and he wants me. I said I want a damn essay on why, this is literally his last chance Mel. I can’t have him talking to me the way he does. Nigga I don’t want your kids, he put me right off and I am going to make sure he puts on a condom, ain’t no raw sex with me again. I think it’s me Mel, I got comfortable because he is my friend, I called him baby daddy and he just shut off, he keeps shutting off randomly. I am not sure what it is, but I think it comes from when I leave him, but he chooses to be hard headed Mel. I would have him here, I would have him on the jet with me, but he wants to be a man, he wants to have his own title but I am going to let him have it. I am currently watching his behaviour; I am not going to be blind to it. it’s just the way he spoke on having sex with other women, he wanted to be malicious with it, it hurt me, but he has yet to write me why he wants to be with me when he feels so insecure” I am not sure if Mel is looking at my neck or my face, I know it’s bad.
Mel is thinking something, she is unimpressed “do you think you maybe both jumped into a relationship a little too quick? Maybe he is not ready for that? I think actually” Mel pointed pausing “I think he actually wants you so he knows he got you, I think he is stuck between that Robyn he knew and this Rihanna. It’s like, let’s say you met Chris at that age and then you go away for a while and then he is Chris Brown the singer and he has all this attention on him, girls wanting him. People love him, and you’re just a nine to five worker and he is flying on private jets and having fun, living that life. If you put yourself in his shoes it’s a lot and it’s different for a man too, like if I didn’t know you both and then it come out you are dating this random nigga from Virginia, my first thing would be is that he wants her money and Rihanna is dumb, and then on top of that he has been in jail, that is just me. But maybe I see it from his view, but he shouldn’t be rude with it at all. I think seeing it from that side it’s a lot. He needs to come to terms with Rihanna, like if that was you. Then you would have needed to come to terms with Chris Brown the singer, and that would be hard for you? Imagine the girls wanting him, equally men masturbating over you” I busted out laughing “bitch!” I spat through my laughter “but I think, I don’t know him but you have spoken on him a lot, maybe just give him that space to just gradually get used to it but yeah, don’t let him get away with it, if he does do it again then just stop it” Mel is wise “I get it’s hard on him, and he has admitted to it, he said if I wasn’t famous he wouldn’t be this way, but I am not going to back down on him. He still needs to make it up to me and explain why he wants me; I am giving to him. I adore him Mel, you may one day see us together, and I am literally loving him so much, I am happy, but yeah. I hope we make it” that is what I want.
My family and friends all clapped that I finally appeared, I took ages because of having to put makeup on my neck, I couldn’t go out like this “so it’s my birthday eve and none of you waited for me!? Wow” touching my mother’ shoulder as I made my way to my seat “bitch you took an extra twenty minute once Mel left your room” Sonita got a point “she was busy dressing the bear” placing the bear on the table “it’s son, son. Be nice, Leandra no!” I shouted as she snatched the bear “you spend more time on this bear then anything, what the hell. Let me see it!” I want to snatch it off her, but I won’t “so this is called son son? Why son son?” I shrugged “because I said so, can I have it back now. And do not put his hood on, he wants it off” Leandra laughed out loudly “you are such a baby Robyn, what is wrong with you. Don’t cry about it” she placed it back where it should be “it means a lot to me” shuffling my chair in “thank you Sonita for the pre-birthday food, I am excited for the birthday shenanigans. I can’t wait for the rest to arrive in Mexico, yes bitch. Wine for breakfast bitch” grabbing my glass “wine for breakfast!” I said into Leandra’ camera phone in my face “down it, down it, down it!” she started chanting, my mom gave me the displeasing look but I did it, I am a bad bitch so I will do it “Robyn” my mom said Leandra screamed out “Monica is not happy, I am so sorry mommy” Leandra spat.
The sun got blocked which made me open my eyes “yes?” I asked seeing Sonita towering over me “oh wait, take a picture of me and son son sun bathing” Sonita snorted laughing “who is this bear about!?” holding my phone out to her, she took my phone “a friend gave it me” placing the bear between my breasts, placing my arm over my forehead squinting my eyes as the sun shone into my eyes as she moved away “mhmmm your body looks good as fuck, enough!” she held my phone out to me “I am jealous” getting up from the lounger to sit up “thank you boo, bitch your body looks good too” I am about to post this, tapping on Instagram and pressing the plus sign to add it to my feed, adding a caption to the photo ‘Somebodies son is having his breast day’ pressing send “we having shots, we all are having one! This is it before your party” Mel said as she made her way to me “tonight? My party is tonight? My birthday is tomorrow though?” I am confused “two parties, this is the family one and the other is the friends one, we can’t turn up as much with this one now drinks up” this is why I usually do my own parties.
Chris would call now when I said for him to call me earlier when I had nothing to do “just two minutes” I said to Yusef, answering the call “hey” I said down the phone “my bad, I know you said earlier but Barry came and we ended up discussing Texas, are you ok?” figured he was doing something “yeah I am fine, just getting ready for my party. Apparently the girls are doing me two parties, my mom wanted to do a family one. I think it’s going to be a birthday meal and party; I think anyways so I am getting ready, but I do have to go. Yusef is doing my hair, I will keep in contact with you through text and let you know what is up and stuff, I am sorry just busy” I am busy but also Chris hasn’t give me the essay so he can wallow “I get it, keep in touch then” as he is “sure, bye” I am cold with him still, I just. I want to be loving to him but then it’s me just backing down from the issue at hand, he is still being normal with me, but I am not, he can’t just think he can say that, and I will just be fine with it. Its not happening, and it won’t happen “sorry Yusef” I said, tapping on Instagram. I might as well catch up with my Instagram while I am in this chair, the first thing that loaded up was a picture of me, a candid picture of me leaving a hotel. Scrolling down anyways, fans always loading that shit but I had to do a double take “huh” I said to myself, reading the name again ‘fuckyopicture’ he’s put a picture of me up, scrolling to the caption all wide eyed ‘Woman crush everyday’ I cooed out, he really posted me as his woman crush, it’s made me smile so much. Tapping on the comments, there is comments on this. He doesn’t even follow many people, then I realised my fans are following him because I follow him, figured they would. Just a lot of queen comments on here “ah” TJ, he is here of course ‘does that include those school picture lol’ rolling my eyes at him, Chris replied ‘why not?’ oh wait Seiko is on this, tapping on her Instagram but of course, she has her profile locked, I am going to need to do digging on that page actually, let me see her comment ‘Nigga went to Rihanna concert and came out obsessed’ she is a bird, like she is still in his comments, go and be a bird elsewhere.
I find it so adorable that he posted me, like he kept it lowkey but still. He posted me and it means the most to me out of it all, I am not over it still and now that I am with my family and some friends he keeps on texting me, like I am not sure if this is him clinging but he’s been constant and my friends seem to think what the fuck, I text him back and he will text me back so fast and then double texts me if I don’t reply quick enough.
Robyn: Chris I can’t just up and leave this get together with my family, but I will once it’s over xx
Chris: I really want to be the first to say happy birthday to you, there is two minutes left! I won’t be long
Taking in a deep breath “Mel!” I shouted her “mhm” Mel turned to me “he wants to speak to me when it strikes twelve, I just want to talk to him. I won’t be long. I can ask him what the fuck is his problem, let me breathe” I shouted over the music “ok, I will hold it down. Hurry up though” nodding my head walking off, I don’t mind him messaging but I am ignoring guests and family I at times don’t get to see, I am busy most part. I don’t want to upset him either so I will be quick and let him be the first one “where you going?” Rajad asked “just need to take this call, be back” stepping into the house, rushing towards the front of the home where it is quieter, opening the spare room door, switching the light on. My phone started ringing anyways, not like I said yes, closing the door behind me “hard headed ass” I answered the call “before it goes twelve, I also sent you a picture, but I did it! I wrote a paragraph, you said essay so I filled the page with graffiti” my face softened “you did? I mean I didn’t think you would, you actually wrote that out?” sitting down on the couch “yeah, it made me sit back and read it over and over and think. It was therapeutic on my behaviour, but I wrote why I want to be with you, you want to hear it?” I am speechless “yeah, I am listening” now I want to listen “Hi Robyn Rihanna, Rihanna Robyn. Remember that? I thought so, you probably smiling because you would hate it. There was no purpose to that, I just wanted to make you smile. I could speak on it better then writing here on this paper, I want to be with you because you bring out the best in me, the love in me and the calmness in me. When I am with you Robyn, I get nervous. Every time I see you naked I still get excited, when I see you I see a future with you. I will never be at the same level as you but you shouldn’t ever be, you are a queen and you will be treated that way. I am not saying things will be perfect between us, it’s not true because nothing is perfect but when they say you know when you are in love, you do. It’s scary, I am so lost in love with you. I really want to do good by you and I just want to include that I am sorry, I would never do this for anyone” I am shocked he did it “you do really love me don’t you?” I said “to the moon and back, when I saw you at the meet and greet and you asked me if I wanted the picture with you, I touched above my heart, I did it because I knew somehow I would have every waking moment with you. God got us baby, and it brings me onto the baby part. I ain’t mean to make it sound like I don’t want you to hold my child, I do. That will happen but right now we can enjoy us, I will be more then happy if you did have my child, and that is it. But like I said I filled the page with graffiti, I sent you the picture of it, proof. And oh shit, it’s your birthday” he cleared his throat “happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you” I giggled my ass off as he sang down the phone “dear Rihanna Robyn, happy birthday to you. Man I love you so much, I’m hurt I am not there but promise you, I am missing you like crazy. I love you ma” I am smiling so hard right now, I feel emotional “wow, I am speechless Chris. You have made my birthday all the better, thank you so much. I miss you more then you know, I promise you this. I am speechless that you wrote it, now I do fully forgive you, just don’t break it” he has really made my birthday, he has me smiling so hard right now “I can feel your happiness, I love you” he feels it like I feel him.

hi it's your secret santa! first of all HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! i hope you have a wonderful day! how are you celebrating, if you are at all? safely, i hope! either way i hope you manage to find a way to have a great day full of love!! consider my christmas gift a belated birthday gift as well lol. anyway i loved reading your last answer, it was so thoughtful and sweet. i realized after reading that i barely know anything about dove lol so follow up q: what about dove makes you love her so much?
sorry for the late response! the last couple days have been v busy and ive been super tired and dissociative on top of it so i made a point to save this bc i wanted to give it my full attention!
first of all thank you!! i was going to do a virtual meet and greet with one of my favs from jersey boys but he got confused about timezones so we rescheduled but were doing it next week! then i went to a virtual walt disney family museum panel, had pizza for dinner and watched some liv and maddie, my mom made a cookie cake that we ate while watching the grinch musical, and then some friends and i watched the jersey boys movie together over skype!
im so glad you enjoyed reading my last answer! and oof thats another loaded question (i love it tho)
- like i said when first talking about what drew me to her and liv and maddie, a big thing is just how much passion and love she puts into her characters. ofc she puts passion into every character she plays, but its the passion she puts into characters like liv, maddie, and mal that means the most to me. that goes back to the fact that ive dealt with a lot of negativity directed towards me for enjoying disney channel, and then you have dove out here saying “yah im a teenager/twenty-something who not only respects what theyre doing on disney channel, but puts my all into it” not to mention she even won an emmy for playing liv and maddie in season 4! i hope that passion and talent has started to change the conversation about disney channel, and tbh i think it has at least a bit.  ofc, none of this is to say other people her age acting on disney channel arent talented and passionate, but idk, something about her has always stood out to me. i find her to be more animated and expressive than most. it can be hard for me to read emotions in live action movies and shows, so thats been really important for me. not to mention she was not only playing the lead but TWO lead characters on a four season show with distinct personalities but also subtle similarities. AND the main character in the biggest DCOM franchise in years for 5 years running now. PLUS the fact that there was a period where those were both happening at the same time. she was only 16 when she started all this and hadnt even had any big roles prior to it!! she had a lot of responsibility so it was amazing to see her not only pull it off, but excel at it.
- i just love like....her aesthetic?? shes always seemed to be a very old soul to me, into old jazz music and poetry and stuff like that. its just very charming. and for her to have that aesthetic on top of being a disney channel actress is a fascinating juxtaposition.
- this is kind of sappy and it gets tiring to hear it said over and over again but that doesnt mean it isnt true: i love how transparent she is about her struggles with mental health issues, trauma, and such. she has been for a long time but even more so over the last year or two. no shade to anyone else, but a lot of actors dont really give you a look into their personal lives, they just share and promote their product. im not saying theres anything wrong with that, its good to know what youre comfortable sharing, ive just felt all the more close to her with her being as open as she is, especially as someone who has gone through trauma myself, albeit different from hers.
- kind of connected to that, i love how important spreading kindness, positivity, and love is to her. thats another thing thats been said a million times but still, its very important to me.
for example. she’ll randomly tweet things like “i love you” a lot. im one to always think of the thought process that goes on behind whatever someone posts, texts, etc., bc personally i put a lot of a thought into pretty much anything i say or do before i put it out there publicly, probably bc of my social anxiety. even tho its a simple statement and takes her a couple seconds to post, she still had to have the thought “i want to remind my fans that theyre loved” or something along those lines. and she has this thought FREQUENTLY. to just randomly get a notification every few days or weeks or so of her saying something like that is just very heartwarming to me.
the reason i connected with miley so much when she helped me through my initial trauma was bc it felt like even if no one loved me, she loves her fans, thus she loves me. thus the person i love and admire the most loves me. even if its only one person, it can be enough. it was for me at the time. i feel that same way with dove. when she came into my life, i didn’t feel as unloved, but her love was still helpful to me.
- of course i need to specifically talk about her kindness in person too. dont get me wrong (ive been saying that a lot havent i lol), i totally and completely loved her long before i met her, but naturally, i love her 10x more after the experiences ive had getting to know her in person.
i could go ONNNNNNN about the experiences ive had with her, and i have lol, and if you already heard me ramble about this in the server i apologize, but the most important thing ive taken away from every encounter ive had with her is this: she always goes the extra mile. she always goes out of her way to make people feel special. what i mean by that is she could say/do HALF as much as she has when meeting me and i would still leave over the moon feeling loved. you can tell she does this in excess bc she really truly means it and cares about people like me, she doesnt have any kind of ulterior motive and isnt just going through the motions doing whats asked of her, she simply cares about me and the rest of her fans. some examples - the first time we met, i was sobbing (lol) and she hugged me for a really long time, rocking me back and forth, brushing my hair with her thumb, calling me sweetheart and honey. she even started to tear up a bit herself. - a couple months later, i went to my first liv and maddie taping. i was preparing to reintroduce myself (i looked a little different bc id been cosplaying as maddie the first time i met her) and ofc when preparing myself, i fantasized pretty heavily as i usually do and pictured myself showing her the pic of us on my phone, her gasping, jumping out of her chair screaming, and hugging me, thinking that was probably way more than i was gonna get. that is EXACTLY what happened. then she went on to tell me how my costume made her whole weekend. things like this would continue to happen where i would set the bar impossibly high and not only would she meet it but she’d exceed it. - our usual interaction from there on would start with her face lighting up when she saw me, her calling me some kind of cute name like love or baby, and then hugging me without me even having to initiate it. - when i saw her in mamma mia, i didnt know when id be seeing her again afterwards after pretty consistently getting to see her for 2 years, so i wanted to make sure we got some kind of closure. at the stage door, i reminded her how much she meant to me and just expected like an “aww i love you too” or something back, but she said “you are an angel in my life” and i will never forget that. obvs, i havent told her ALL the details about what she and her characters mean to me but like...she can tell. she can tell if im in a homemade maddie costume sobbing into her arms that theres something there, and shes VERY appreciative of that. - i thankfully got to see her at a meet and greet a few months later and every time i thought i should get going cuz i didnt want to hold the line up, she would just open her arms for another hug. speaking of being appreciative, she even said “thank you for being such a supportive fan.” as i left, i turned around to say one last goodbye. i made sure she wasnt with the next fan yet and yelled out “bye!” and she yelled back “I LOVE YOU!!” and blew me a kiss. again, its the little things. - i saw her at a small panel in new york a few months after that. she walked in the room when the lights were down as they were playing a clip, she quietly waved hi to everyone, then saw me and loudly whispered HI BABY!!! and stopped on her way to the stage to give me a hug. (then she looked at me from the stage and asked which way i thought she should cross her legs for the interview lol) - sometimes when she sees im next in line, shell give me a knowing smile or whisper “hi baby!!” or something like that. she saw me in the crowd after clueless and seemed to make a point to come to me last bc she knew wed be talking for a while, which we did. she even told me she’d seen me in the audience, asking if i was in the front on the left, which i was.
even all that is still just scratching the surface. weve “known” each other for 5 years now and every time i think she’s done the most she can do, she outdoes herself again. not to mention when im at these events, i see her treat all the fans she meets with all of that kindness too. naturally all of this has made me love her all the more.
- finally, lets just be honest here..........................shes REALLY fucking hot.

Warnings: Mentions of death and character mourning. Arguing and shouting. Let me know if I missed any and they’ll be added :)
Author's Note: This request was loads of fun, thank you so much for it I hope you enjoy. Also I hope you don't that I changed the prompt a tiny itty bitty bit :) Took me a bit longer than usual to finish up but I’m super happy with how it turned out. Requests are still open so keep em coming yall :) posted this on mobile so I apologize if there is an awkward layout
It’s been three days since the last expedition. Three days since Emma died. (Y/N) is currently laying in her and Levi’s shared bed. She has been there ever since they got back from the expedition. Levi’s standing across from her in the room in full uniform, watching her with intent. What he really wanted was to see her get out of their bed, dress into her uniform, and join him in the dining hall for some breakfast.
It’s obvious to him that she won’t do it. “You should get out of bed, no point in moping around for long, you still have ‘most’ of your squad and you still have work to do.” Levi says very flatly. He knows it’s not the right thing to say, but he seems to never know the right thing to say, ‘why not just keep it blunt’ he thinks to himself.
“I--” A barely used voice croaks from (Y/N)’s body. “I don’t think I’m ready for that yet.” All she could think about was that moment she had just stood there in shock, three days ago, and watched one of her squad cadets’, her best friend, die at the hands of one of those beasts right before her. After the first bite (Y/N) had gone apeshit back there, she lost all control and completely destroyed the titan that had previously stood before her. She had retrieved what was left of Emma, but she was already far gone by the time (Y/N) had gotten to her. “It’s not like you understand anyway, you rarely let people even get close to you.”
“What did you say brat?” Levi questioned tensely, clenching his jaw. Your statement had struck a nerve with him.
“I said you don’t understand what it’s like!” (Y/N) nearly shouted, shoving the blankets of their body and aggressively presenting in front of Levi. Challenging him to see how he’ll react, hoping he’ll back down.
“You better think before you speak, you’ve had your time to grieve so there’s no reason for you to disrespect a Captain-” Levi started, stern, refusing to back down but quickly interrupted.
“Don’t you dare pull rank on me Ackerman, You haven’t lost what I’ve lost, I don’t want to hear it!” (Y/N) practically screamed at him. It’s clear she’s still so emotionally broken, but she still isn’t being smart minded in this moment.
“You think I haven’t endured that pain?” Levi shouted back. His face is tainted with a hint of pink to it, making his anger evident. Stepping up closer to (Y/N), he got in their face. “You didn’t even know me five years ago, so don’t act like you know what I've gone through. You don’t know what haunted my dreams for years.” Suddenly the room got quiet, but only for a few seconds. “Quit whining about how you couldn’t handle leading your group. Maybe if you were a half decent squad leader you wouldn’t be feeling so sorry for yourself, and you’d actually get up and do your damn job!”
‘Shit.’ Levi immediately thinks to himself. ‘That wasn’t what I meant.’
(Y/N) brought their eyes to the floor, quickly walking around Levi and leaving their room. Space was dearly needed, she quickly got angry and was desperate for a cool down.
Levi knew he had made a huge mistake as soon as the words left his mouth, but she had been in the wrong as well, making assumptions about his past. Taking a deep sigh, he sat down on the bed. He knew exactly where she was heading off to too; she had gotten angry without a doubt, so she was likely going to clear her head where Emma used to take her whenever she got angry.
(Y/N) had eventually made their way over to wooded walking paths, located directly behind the training grounds. Emma used to take (Y/N) here whenever she blew her top, always being known for getting hot headed, Emma was the only one who knew just what (Y/N) needed in order to collect herself again. The fresh air was refreshing, but (Y/N) could already feel herself starting to get emotional again. Being here was only drawing her mind closer to the recent tragic events, but maybe that's just what she needed to experience her grieving in a healthier way.
The gentle sound of their footsteps felt like just another reminder of how lonesome she was feeling. ‘If Emma was here, she’d probably flick me in the ear for being such a dumbass.’ (Y/N) thought to herself. ‘Levi had every right to feel frustrated, to a certain extent at least. Of course he understands, being in the Survey Corps, of course he’s lost his companions. He was still an ass though for poking at my leadership skills.’
The walk was quickly doing its job of soothing (Y/N)’s mind, Making it easier to process the fiery words spoken between the two squad leaders. But with (Y/N)’s mind focused on the previous conversation she wasn’t paying much attention to the path she was following. Before she knew it, she had stumbled over a rather large root, upgrounded in the path. With her foot caught underneath she had mistakenly sprained her ankle while trying to free it.
Pain searing from her ankle, traveled up (Y/N)’s leg as she stumbled to the dirt pathing. Instantly letting out a cry, her eyes started to water.
“Fuck!” She shouted out, clutching her ankle. “Of all times this happens now!” (Y/N) was clearly frustrated with the situation and with how bad her ankle was hurting she figured it’d be best to give it a minute before trying to stand and add pressure to it.
Nevertheless a moment never came where (Y/N) felt it was safe for them to stand up, instead she figured the path can get busy at times so she decided to hunker down and wait until some cadets decided to go for a stroll. Hoping to wave down the first cadet she’d see, (Y/N) was left by herself waiting for hours, and it was getting dark.
Back in the dining hall it was already dinner time, cadets filled the tables and kept up the atmosphere with the sound of clinking drinks and a constant dull chatter. Levi was seated with the rest of the higher ups but he had yet to touch his plate. (Y/N) never returned to their shared room and he had yet to see them since their argument. Levi couldn’t help but worry about his dearest and thought it was time he searched you out and apologized.
Abruptly standing up from the dining table earned him a couple looks, but Levi was too focused on his task at hand to even notice. He quickly made his way out of the dinning hall and began his search. He first checked (Y/N)’s office, then their room, and then his office and the library. He couldn’t find any sign of (Y/N) so he decided to leave the base and search the pathway he’d often find her and Emma strolling together.
It was rather quiet on the path. It was already dark enough to make out the moon and stars, leaving very little illumination for the walkway. (Y/N) had been waiting for several hours now. She had her back leaning against a tree, her head tilted down and eyes obviously tired. Then she started hearing footsteps trudging down the path towards her, she looked up but it was too dark to make out the figure moving towards her.
“Hey are you one of the cadets?” (Y/N) yelled. “I kind of messed up my ankle, can ya’ give me a hand in bringing me to the infirmary?”
“Tch” The figure sounded, finally close enough for (Y/N) to make out their features. “Leave it to you to get hurt on a walking path.” Levi said, his voice laced with sarcasm.
“You came looking for me?” (Y/N) questioned him.
“Of course I did, you never showed up for dinner brat.” Levi bent down to bring (Y/N) into his arms. Wrapping her arms around his neck and shoulders.
“ Aren’t you upset with me?” (Y/N) asked.
“I should be asking you the same thing.” Making their way back to headquarters, Levi and (Y/n) thanked the quiet wildlife for filling the silence between them. “I-I think it’s fair to say we both said things we shouldn’t have.” Levi was obviously struggling with talking about such a serious topic. Never having been good with words, he came off as sounding stale and uncomfortable, but (Y/N) could see how hard he was trying.
“Levi- “ (Y/N) started but couldn’t bring herself to finish.
“When Erwin first brought me in, I wasn’t alone. There were two others with me, they were my family, but they never made it past their first expedition.” Levi said with his voice shaking. (Y/N) was looking up at him, he kept his eyes straight ahead, afraid he didn’t have the strength to look at his love while talking about his lost comrades. His eyes looked wet but he refused to let a tear slip through, he felt like he was required to keep it together somewhat.
“I had no idea. Levi I’m so sorry.” (Y/N) responded.
“I’m sorry (Y/N) for not telling you sooner, and I’m sorry I wasn’t there for your mourning. Emma was a truly talented cadet, and I know she meant the world to you.” Levi said. They were already at the end of the path, now just making their way through the training fields towards the base. “I love you (Y/N), I know it’s tough right now but it’s important to keep fighting for her.”
“I love you too, thank you Levi.” (Y/N) said.
“Tch. Don’t thank me brat, just promise me you’ll join me for dinner after we get you down to medical.”
