i really love the different ways people interpret a post canon bakura lives scenario though. some people make him go back to being thief king which symbolizes reclaiming who you are in spite of what you've been through, that you're still the same person beneath it all. and some people keep him as yami bakura because maybe you've been through too much to go back to who you were before, but you can be someone new now, also a reflection of someone you care about, and that's ok. both are good i like both of them

Women don't want flowers they want to be in Yu-Gi-Oh! To have someone like,
**Yugi** who's way too kind and handsome for his own good
**Joey** the most determined and sweet guy from Brooklyn Japan you've ever met <3
**Duke** he'll make you roll your eyes but you can't help but love him anyway
**Bakura** if his dashing good looks won't have you swooning his accent sure will not to mention how sweet he is ;)
**Kaiba** he may be stubborn but he's charming and caring at times~
**Atem** how could you ever even not expect the world from this perfect man, he's truly a gift from the heavens
**Marik** okay listen he may be evil but he's hot and dressed like a slut that is all
**Yami Bakura** God I would be lying if I said he wasn't the guy they mention when they said he'd burn the world for you
**Yami Marik** if regular Marik isn't enough of a hot slut this is 10x better he would brand you and you would say thank you while batting your lashes
I do just be a girl with a yugioh obsession that came back with revenge in 2024 (◍•ᴗ•◍)✧*。

rereading yugioh while outlining a transfem atem au and just realized that bakura is not an egyptian name. so like. did thief king just steal bakura's name for himself. is the thief king also nameless. what the fuck is going on with bakura??? i humbly ask you this because the wiki is making me want to tear my hair out and you are the person i trust most will all yugioh takes forever
anyway fistbump to you fellow gravekeeper player. we stan anti-meta and giggling when the graveyard is locked down amen
The general consensus is that KT indeed intended his name to actually be Bakura and it's a coincidence. There's a couple posts floating around which transcribe it into hieroglyphs to get some pretty on-point meanings. The alternative option would be to suggest that TKB's name was lost and Atem's memories are just shoving in the known placeholder, but I don't know there's a ton of evidence for that. I think his name is just Bakura.
It's worth noting that Karim and Mahad aren't ancient Egyptian names either, as far as I know they're both Arabic-derived names about 2000 years before the Arab conquest of Egypt. And if it wasn't planned, KT just got really lucky with Set(o). From what I understand based on what Japanese speakers have said, there are several character names in Yugioh that are sort of bizarre and don't make a ton of sense as written names at all (Mokuba primarily, but I've also been told that the way "Ryou" is written is really weird?) so I don't think "KT gave this character a weird or ahistorical name" is necessarily a reason to believe that name is inaccurate.
So. Yeah his name is probably Bakura and yeah that's weird but when it comes to naming characters KT just followed his heart. Also ty I have been playing this evil stall/mill deck for a while but I should go back to gravekeepers for a bit just for fun again

Yeah, so I finally watched Dark Side of Dimensions. I don’t even care if it’s blatant fanservice, inject that crack directly into my veins. Hrrngh. The animation looked soooo good!
Older!Yugi is so cute with his dress shirts and vests! Squee! And did Kaiba spray paint his shirt on? Those abs, lmao. In general, I thought the costuming was a nice mix of nostalgic looks with some new flair.
Also, there was finally some good shit for Ryou to do (it’s a very low bar). Of course he’s a chick magnet, it’s more than just the accent, heh. And that flashback? I felt bad for him because he didn’t want to remember. But I was also cackling, going “yes, put that blorbo in a situation!” I only wish he wasn’t like 8 years old when he got the Ring so that Yami Bakura could have spoken in his normal, raspy voice. Hrrrrngh.
Ok, stop thirsting over fictional anime characters
Speaking of voices, I wish that Atem could have actually, you know, talked. When he came back. Like, I get it, but… still. At least most of the original voice cast reprised their roles.
There were high points and low points, just like the rest of the show. The 3D animation was… fine. (The 2D animation more than made up for it). The villain was… fine. (Give me back Yami Bakura damn youuuu). Shadi is a dumb fuck, but what else is new.
And I like Kaiba as much as the next gal, but I wish the movie could have stopped sucking his dick for two seconds and shown Joey some love. The dog costume again, really?? It was funny back in season 1, but Joey’s come so far since then. Turns me off of Puppyshipping, because Joey deserves better than someone who treats him like shit…
Um, ok. Ships. Puzzleshipping? Duh. Do I even need to elaborate? At least Yugi seems to be handling the separation better than Kaiba, because… Prideshipping? Also duh. Kaiba goes to absurd lengths to get his crush back. Rivalshipping? Now there’s an interesting one. Interesting to imagine how Kaiba’s perception of Yugi changes, once he realizes that the Pharaoh is a separate entity. Also, is there a RyouXTherapy ship? Lmao.
Anyway, once again, I’m super late to the party with this… But what can I say. I enjoyed it!

Could i get a ryou bakura, y.bakura, yugi, atem, joey and marik(not y.marik) x fem reader(separate of course) when the reader who is not in a relationship with them decides to crawl into bed with them during a sleep over due to not being able to sleep and they both have major crushes on each other but they get overly flustered when they wake up to reader cuddled up to their chest
I just thought this was a really cute idea and haven’t seen anyone do this
Ofc I’ll be happy to do that <3 the only thing is imma change it to gender neutral
I literally love this though
Yugioh boys with an unexpected cuddle buddy
Tags (is that what you call them?? Idk) : gn reader, tired reader, super super short, idk what else to add mb
Tumblr media
Joey Wheeler
Listen, I'm not saying he screamed but I'm not saying he didn't scream either
He was so confused
Moves around a lot in bed so when he woke up he was resting his head on your thighs
Refuses to tell anyone about it but is always thinking about it
If you're with him right before he falls asleep, he's super fun
Until he randomly passes out but still
A super big snorer
Like he literally sounds like a car alarm
Super warm on some night but then on other nights feels like an icicle
Tumblr media
Yugi Muto
Cutie woke up as soon as you hopped into his bed
Thought you just got into the wrong bed
tried to tell you that but you just screamed and threw a pillow at him
When you told him you wanted to sleep in his bed he offered to sleep somewhere else but you then told him you wanted to sleep with him
Got all red
Joey was still up and overheard it so he thought you two were going to have sex
Told everyone the next day
Anyways
He was very stiff in the beginning but once he fell asleep he was super comfy
Asked you on a date the next day
Tumblr media
Yami Yugi
Like Yugi he woke up as soon as you got into his bed
Except with him he didn't say anything to you
Put an arm around you
Let you cuddle up against him
Was so cold that it evened out the warm blankets which is weird considering that in the day he's super hot
escpecially his hands but not like sweaty hot
Didn't say anything about it the next day but couldn't get it out of his head
Lets you come into his bed as much as you want
Tumblr media
Bakura
When he woke up he didn't really notice you at first
Cuddled up to you thinking that you were a pillow and dreamed that the pillow was you
Until his pillow started snoring
Eyes shot wide open and he jumped up
Thought he saw the lights for a moment
He had to hold in a scream while his face became covered in blush. Became a nervous wreck
Woke you up by shaking you while whispering in your ear
You kicked him off his own bed
Not that he cared
Thought he was dreaming but when he found out he wasn't, he went and made you breakfast in bed
Tumblr media
Y. Bakura
Literally did not care at all
The only reason that he even thought about it was that you kept stealing his damn blankets
He ended up being the one to start the little cuddle fest
Was pissed that you kept stealing his blankets but he thought that you wouldn't be back so he didn't say anything
Oh how wrong he was
Usually wakes up before you and does his own thing
He honestly considered passing you along
Eventually gave up
A good cuddle when he falls asleep but refuses to be close to you when awake
you being in his bed most nights made him super cocky though
Tumblr media
Malik Ishtar
Best cuddles known to man frfr
He didn't technically wake up when you came into his bed but he somehow knew that you did
Super chill about it in the morning
Unless you brought it up, he didn't
Said that you could come over anytime you wanted to
Wrote about it in his diary
It's his favorite part of the day
Always smiles and looks forward to you coming over
you two got together after a couple more nights of you staying in his bed
Brags about it with people he's close to
Always ends up with him on your chest or the other way around, no matter what
Bonus
Tumblr media
I’m in love with her frfr
Mai Valentine
Already knew you were coming
Don't ask how she just did
If you come before she falls asleep then be prepared to be forced to do face masks, no matter how tired you are and listen to her talk shit about other people
If you come after she falls asleep then prepare to have her involuntary push your head into her chest
Warm cuddle buddy but her room in always cold so it doesn't really matter
Sleeps in so if you don't then be prepared for you to be stuck in her arms for a couple hours
Smirks whenever she wakes up and you start blushing

The bedroom is quiet as Yugi shuffles around, finishing up his night routine before settling down. Atem is already laying in the bed they now shared—the same bed that Yugi used to sleep in alone. It’s small, but it’s big enough for the two of them.
Yugi is taking off his jewelry when Atem speaks up, “Do you mind telling me the story of how you met Baku—I mean, Ryou?”
The question surprises Yugi. He freezes in the middle of removing his cuffs. He continues after a moment, not bothering to look at Atem. He couldn’t see him in the dark room, anyways. He clears his throat and replies, “Well, he transferred to our school in the middle of the semester during tenth grade. It wasn’t long after I solved the puzzle.”
He hears Atem hum in recognition, “Right…”
Slowly, Yugi turns and looks at the corner where he knows Atem resides. He folds his arms and frowns, “Atem, you were there. Don’t you remember?”
“I do,” Atem quickly assures him, “I just wanted to hear the story from you. I suppose I was wondering if there were any details I missed. Everything happened so quickly with him and Bakura.”
Crossing the room, Yugi sighs, “No, nothing else happened. We’ve talked about this before. You haven’t missed anything.”
“There’s no harm in double-checking, now is there?”
Yugi eyes narrow at the slight waver in Atem’s voice, He sits on his side of the bed and stares at the lump next to him, “Atem, what’s going on?”
“Nothing,” Atem blurts a little too quickly.
“Atem,” Yugi repeats more sternly.
“Don’t use that tone of voice with me…” Atem grumbles, somehow sinking deeper into the shadows that cast over Yugi’s bed.
Yugi gently pulls at Atem’s shoulder until he turns. Even in the darkness, their eyes meet, and Yugi whispers, “Talk to me…”
“I…” Atem trails off, his teeth gnawing at his bottom lip with uncertainty. He sits up and hugs his knees to his chest, mumbling, “My memory… I’m having a harder time remembering things from the past.”
“What do you mean?” Yugi tilts his head in confusion. “Your past or…” He glances away, “…our past?”
Atem’s words are uneven when he admits, “Our past.”
“How so?” Yugi forces out as he does his best to ignore the ache in his heart.
“I can remember everything about who I was back in Egypt thousands of years ago. It’s all there. My memories about what happened during my time within the puzzle—our memories—is becoming foreign to me. It’s blurry,” Atem admits, “and I don’t understand why. It used to be so vivid to me.”
“I want to say that’s normal,” Yugi shrugs, but his body feels paralyzed. He blinks away tears, “especially since memories can get foggy after a few years. You’ve been living here for a while, Atem. It’s just something everyone experiences—“
“Not this!” Atem interrupts him. Yugi’s head whirls around to meet Atem’s face, his eyes widening at the tears streaming down his partner’s cheeks. Atem sniffles and shakes his head in frustration, “This is… Yugi, something’s wrong. I don’t know how to explain it, but this—it doesn’t feel right.”
“Atem…” Yugi breathes out. He isn’t sure what to say to comfort him. He doesn’t know how to figure out what he’s thinking without their mental connection. Reading Atem was so easy, but in this moment, Yugi didn’t have a clue what chaos was brewing in his head—well, he had that much to work with. Chaos. It was always typical of Atem…
Atem slumps, “I’m being irrational, aren’t I?”
“No, you’re not,” Yugi reaches for Atem’s hand and laces their fingers together. “It makes sense. You’ve been pretty distant lately and asking a lot of weird things…”
“I have?”
“You asked me where I was when the whole situation with Dartz was going on a few days ago,” Yugi points out, recalling his discussion with Atem one morning while making breakfast. “You playing the Seal of Orichalcos traumatized you. That’s not something you’ve been able to forget.”
“I didn’t ask that—“ Atem pauses, then stares at Yugi in horror, “—did I?”
Yugi’s heart plummets, and he chokes on a sob, “We need to call Ishizu.”
“Oh, Gods…” Atem murmurs in disbelief.
He clumsily stumbles after Yugi as he leaps out of bed. He continues to hold his hand securely while they rush downstairs to the home phone. His chest is tight, and he feels like he can’t breathe.
Once they reach the phone, Yugi dials Ishizu’s number that he’s memorized from calling her many times after the Ceremonial Duel. It’d been a while since the last time, and both of them assumed it’d be the end of those random phone calls with ridiculous questions that sounded absurd, but only made sense to the three of them.
Atem stops listening and tunes Yugi out as he talks into the receiver. He leans into Yugi’s embrace and rests his head on his shoulder. The tears never stop, and it makes him curl in on himself. He buries his face in the crook of Yugi’s neck and pretends he doesn’t exist.
Atem fears that he’d cease to for much longer.

Another gemshippy au! Ace Ryou summons incubus tkb for cuddling. Bakura tolerates it because a soul is still a soul, no matter how he gets it, but he is deeply flustered by this type of affection because it's not what he's used to. Every time he goes back to hell, he complains about the things Ryou wants from him as if the things he's asking for are the most scandalous, disgusting things Bakura has ever had to perform (he secretly enjoys every minute of it).
Anyway, I just think the unflusturable demon getting flustered by emotional closeness and cuddling is a funny trope.

Yugi's Willingness to let Atem Front
I remember when I was younger and watched Yu-gi-oh (I never finished it) I thought the story was Yugi’s story, and now that I’ve watched it in full it’s clearer that it is in fact Atem’s story (at least in the anime). I love this because typically a character like Atem wouldn’t be the main focus of the story but someone like Yugi would. But more than that as I rewatched I realized just how willing and kind Yugi was about being a vessel. After he and Atem resolve the conflict created between them on the Duel Tower (Kaiba’s “For every X number of points I lose I’ll step back towards the ledge”) Yugi has no qualms about Atem being out for the majority of the time even though its HIS body and he shows multiple times that he has no issue fronting. Yet Yugi allows Atem to be out for the majority of the show anyway even when they aren’t dueling especially towards the Battle City Arc.
Maybe some of it has to do with personal reasons, Yugi is shy and does struggle with people a bit, he has low confidence and while he is good at the games he doesn’t believe he’s better than Atem at it. But I wonder how much of it is also this understanding that Atem doesn’t have a body and is confined to the puzzle, especially after he realizes that’s the case in episode 51. Yugi trusts and feels comfortable enough with Atem that whenever Atem wants to switch Yugi just lets him (mostly). And Atem stays out for extremely long periods of time if not indefinitely unless Yugi initiates a switch. They are also the only ones with a Milennium Item/Possession relationship (Since Yami Marik is technically a split personality not a spirit from a Millennium Item) that switch with each other at will and have open communication with each other. Yugi calls Atem “Other Me” but he treats and gives Atem access to the body as if its just as much Atem’s as it is Yugi’s even though its not.
Them having to switch places easily could have been a source of conflict and contention for the two of them and instead they allow one to front and the other is aware and active in their mind/spiritually projects himself. It’s a really fun detail when you compare it and contrast it to Yami Bakura and Yami Marik and it does make me wonder if because they have this arrangement its one of the reasons Yugi’s group of friends don’t have too much issue with Atem. Like Yugi and Atem’s friends don’t complain when Atem is out and gripe about Yugi being in the puzzle (with some exceptions of course) and Yugi never asks them to be okay with it.

Deathshipping is a very interesting name for the ship between ryou and yami marik, specifically in that their relationships with death are very similar. They are both fascinated by it, and in a clear sense, very afraid of it.
Ryou lost his family at a young age, and his mind is occupied by the half dead spirit of an ancient graverobber. So many accoisiations with death and buriel and the undoing of those things follow him everywhere. Ryou has every right to be very afraid of death, but the death he seems to be concerned with isn't his. His mind lingers on the deaths of his family, a mirror to the death of the family of the undead abomination that haunts his soul, he writes them letters, and he seems utterly unattached to the world after losing them. In a sense, he died with them. In a sense, ryou is a spirit as much as Bakura is. Ryou also has a morbid interest in death. He is fascinated by the occult, builds undead, death, and spirit centric decks, always is entranced to seek out the amulet that contains said vengeful spirit, etc. Ryou almost seems to have a strange love affair with death.
On the other side, yami marik came into being with the single purpose of keeping marik Ishtar alive, and by killing anyone who hurts him. Yami marik draws comparison to Sekhmet, a fierce goddess of slaughter, but also of healing. Death rules the lives of both mariks . The death and rebirth of Atem, the death of their mother in childbirth, and specifically the death of their father, at Yami Mariks hands. Marik Isbtar fears death over all else, an even greater fear than losing control and ceding his life to Atem. Yami Marik also fears death above all else, both mariks death, which he was created to protect him from, and. His own, because he fears that. He will never be able to break away from the purpose. He was created. To fulfill, to live. Truly on his own as a speraate person from mariks pain. Yami marik is also driven by an urge to kill the people who hurt him, which degenerates over the time trapped inside mariks mind to the goal of kill as many people as possible bit he always goes back to Risbid, the barrier that keeps him from reaching a true life for himself. He enjoys the suffering and death of other people, but is terrified of his own.
Anyways yeha deathshipping is an interesting name for them

Which final antagonist (Bakura/Zorc, Nightshroud, Z-one, Don Thousand, Z-arc, or Ai) was your favorite or do you find most compelling?
Getting this ask made me realise that I don’t actually like any of the final antagonists that much apart from Ai and sort of Darkness. But I'm gonna talk about them anyways because I enjoy doing these all series posts and declaring which series did the best at a particular element. Because yes. All series. I’m a Bridge era fan so I’m including Otes from Sevens. Though no one from Go Rush since we don’t know who the final antagonist will be yet. This is also a long one (3 pages long in Google Docs) with spoilers and critique for every series so I'll put the wall of text under a read more:
Zorc is boring. I have nothing else to add.
Tumblr media
He’s just a giant monster for the heroes to defeat with no personality. Which is perfectly fine for the story but not very interesting on its own as a character.
Bakura meanwhile upsets me.
Tumblr media
It's not because he’s necessarily a bad character though. It's because of how the narrative treats him, and the fact that his story has elements that I find incredibly problematic and upsetting. I am not saying Bakura was right for wanting to destroy the world, let me make that clear. I am saying that the narrative of a villain who the narrative deems as irredeemably evil and “must die” having the backstory of his entire village being murdered before his eyes as a child to in order to create weapons of mass destruction for the corrupt monarchy who ordered genocide on said village in the first place because everyone in it was “pure evil” and thus “deserved it anyways” is a narrative that I raise an eyebrow at. And if anything, it felt pointless to throw on. Bakura would have been completely serviceable as just pure evil with no backstory for me. He would’ve lacked substance on his own, but the way he was built up throughout the series and affected the other characters, like some later villains I’m gonna discuss, would have been compelling enough to at least be serviceable. This backstory though just adds all this complexity that the anime clearly wasn’t equipped to handle and in my opinion, fumbled completely. I still enjoy the final arc overall but THIS is one of those things that bothers me the more and more I think about and feels like an instance of the writers not realising their implications. Which as a writer myself, absolutely can happen by accident. I am not accusing anyone on the writing team of anything malicious here. But as a result of this, Bakura's character to me, especially as someone who doesn’t go back to the OG Duel Monsters that often, is unfortunately just tied to this issue for me.
Nightshroud, or Darkness as I know him in the sub meanwhile, is probably the most effective villain to me out of this set.
Tumblr media
He's just a pure evil monster so again like Zorc, I'm not interested in him as a character but as a being of pure evil who represents and spreads all the terrible things in the world he works well. Also the impact he has on the characters, especially in season 4 where Sho, Asuka, and Manjome are essentially torturing themselves with their own graduations anxieties in Darkness's world is one I find to be incredibly compelling. So Darkness as a character is not interesting but what he represents and the effect he has on the other characters is very compelling, as is the Judai vs Darkness duel of season 4 which is subjectively, my favourite final boss duel of the franchise.
Z-One is huge missed potential.
Tumblr media
I think even the die hard 5Ds fans agree on that one. He was initially set up to be this older jaded version of Yusei from the future who had to turn to more destructive methods to save the world and that concept, as much as I famously do not like time travel, is GREAT. It’s the same plot The Lego Movie 2 later did, in my opinion, to great effect. But 5Ds chickened out of this amazing concept. They couldn’t commit to making Z-One that future version of Yusei (who wouldn’t exist after the ultimate ending of 5Ds anyways so it wouldn’t have even destroyed Yusei’s character) and instead just someone who looks like him which is not nearly as interesting. So. Z-One. Great concept that 5Ds chickened out of. The duel itself was decent though and a good finale to Ark Cradle, if just for Yusei on a flying motorcycle.
Don Thousand is certainly a guy who exists.
Tumblr media
He’s kind of like Darkness but without the profound impact on the other characters or any representation of a deeper concept. The way he uses Vector is mildly investing and the way he twisted the Barians’ lives to lead to them becoming his pawns is very interesting and pretty much the sort of thing I want Studio Bridge to do with the Creator and the Velgearians in Go Rush come to think of it but anyways, back on topic. Other than those elements, Don Thousand feels a bit underdeveloped and is ultimately just there to be this big bad that all three warring factions of the show: Earth, Barianworld, and Astralworld, put aside their differences to defeat which is really cool conceptually and it's a fun duel so I can forgive Don Thousand being boring on his own.
Z-Arc’s god awful overly long duel is my villain origin story.
Tumblr media
I like Zarc’s story in the flashbacks we see. I think conceptually he’s a great idea. So the honestly flat character we get in the duel, lacking all of the depth those flashbacks gave Zarc, was very disappointing. And the actual duel being so overly long drove me up a wall. Also de-aged baby Layra being a vessel for Zarc is one of the worst instances of a show, let alone Yugioh or even Arc V, committing character assassination that I’ve ever seen. Z-Arc is a great concept, and that scene of Yuya being able to relate to and understand him in the final duel is phenomenal, but the duel and the character in it is just terrible to me.
Ai by contrast to all these other guys is my favourite character in Yugioh VRAINS and definitely my favourite of the characters in this set by a wide margin.
Tumblr media
I firmly believe Ai is a comic relief character done right as IN THE SUB he’s actually funny without taking away from the seriousness of any scene, while also being a character with depth, complexities, and motivations of his own outside of whatever the protagonist wants. His final duel with Playmaker is very emotionally impactful and definitely the objective best of these final boss duels, even if it isn’t exactly “fun” to rewatch due to how hard-hitting emotionally it is, and other problems I personally have with VRAINS that aren’t relevant to this discussion. Point is that the series set up the characters of and connection between Playmaker and Ai so well that by the time the series develops Ai into Playmaker's final opponent, it feels earned and the emotions really hit. Ai is just very well set up as the final antagonist in general. It’s potentially a surprise to the audience when he has his turn to villainy but it adds up with what the show presented us about his character beforehand. He’s well built up to. Unlike the next character-
Otes
Tumblr media
Okay, that’s a bit misleading. I think there are sufficient hints before the finale to hint at Otes being a villain, and that it was a good idea on paper. The problem is how it happens. Pacing wise, it comes out of nowhere and unceremoniously cuts off another villain, Yuga Goha’s, arc, and not even through something that might be understandable like a duel. No. They duel and Yuga Goha DEFEATS Otes. And seemingly steals his memories to prevent him from being a problem. Only. Nope! Surprise! Otes is later revealed to be immune to the memory erasing effects of Monster Reborn because he apparently created the card (a revelation that may not even be true anymore) and kidnaps Yuga Goha, abruptly putting an end to his villainy to make way for Otes’s. Yuga Goha isn’t even brought back as a villain again later or made Otes’s underling or anything like that. His siblings, who he previously betrayed and stole memories from multiple times, just save him. That's a bit rushed, but it’s a nice moment so I can forgive it personally. My problem is that immediately afterwards, Yuga Goha simply agrees to join his siblings in their less relevant than the main cast’s contributions to defeat Otes, who by that point is left only a few episodes to be a full-blown villain. Yuga Goha and Otes would have both made great antagonists if it was paced better. But instead, Yuga Goha is suddenly shafted and redeemed (even if he still has a dark streak, it’s really only used comedically) at the speed of light and Otes barely gets any time to be a villain so they both just end up feeling like wasted potential. That said, Yuga vs Otes is a great duel, probably my favourite final boss duel in the franchise after Judai vs Darkness.
And that’s all the final bosses of every complete Yugioh anime so far. Overall I’d say that Z-Arc and Bakura are the only ones I don’t enjoy. Zorc is just a boring means to an end. Z-One and Otes (and Yuga Goha if you count him) had potential but while their duels are fun, they ultimately lacked substance. Don Thousand and Darkness are not characters, just means to an end but Don Thousand does his job serviceably and Darkness does his exceptionally well. And Ai is just the best one of this set in every single respect.

Kiya, you're the first person who I follow, who are a Yuuji & Sukuna fan but not shipping them. Like, it's so cool....Most JJK fan that I know are people who love either one of them, hate both of them, or love both of them (and must shipping them romantically)....Do you think in the end, Yuuji is the one who will kill Sukuna for good?
Thanks @epickiya722 for sharing your fanfics and many reviews and analysis (especially for BNHA & JJK). Love reading them 💐🌻🌷
I prefer tumblr then twitter. I sometimes tired to see many negative comments around fandom. You're right, Kiya,.there are many people who love to talk negatively about a certain fandom, like if you hate it that much, why not just stop watching or reading them (yes 'a certain fandom' that I mean are BNHA & JJK)......
Is that rare?! To like both characters and not ship them?
Anyways!!
To that question, I do!! I'll be honest, I think out of all the characters, it would make sense if Yuji is the one to land the final attack and ending Sukuna for good. It honestly frightens me a little that this makes it possible that some of the other characters may be put out commission. But! Let's think about it!
I apologize beforehand because I know this is going to get long!
It makes sense to me that Yuji is the one to kill Sukuna because out of the characters, who annoys Sukuna the most? Who does he view now as his "main dish" because of his unbreakable resolve? Yuji Itadori!
This kinda plays into some thoughts of mine I'm working on.
For one, I think of Yuji and Sukuna's relationship as more twisted version of Yugi Muto and Yami Yugi (to an extent, Ryou and Yami Bakura).
A while back, in this post, I talked a little about how JJK share some similarities to YGO, which apparently Gege likes, I don't know, I read a post. I believe so with the references thrown in there and again, similarities that could be coincidences.
Yuji and Yugi have similar names, spiky multicolored hair (black, pink and blond... Yuji used to be blond), they're high school students who wear blue uniforms, raised by their grandfathers who also happen to look like the spirit possessing them in some way, they stick to their morals, got possessed by a spirit with a "King" title through a cursed objects...
Both stories involve something about souls, Kenjaku rocked the Bandit Keith special, in the anime, you can see Gojo hold a DVD that looks like Bonds Beyond Time (I have a post here showing so)...
That's all I can capture, but thinking about all that I wondered "well, how funny it would be if Yuji turns out to be Sukuna's reincarnation? Like his soul reborn just like Yugi is to Yami/Atem?"
If that's the case, then for sure it would be possible for another similarity to be thrown in.
At the end of YGO, guess what happens to Yami and Yugi? Spoiler, Yugi beats Yami in a duel for Yami to pass onto the afterlife.
In a way, it was like he was putting his past self to rest.
So couldn't it be possible for Yuji to do the same to Sukuna? Put the King of Curses to rest as he should be? Sukuna was reawaken into an era he does not belong to. It's something I don't see talked about a lot. A clash of generations.
Think of Gojo and the Higher-Ups. Gojo doesn't like their ways of handling the Jujutsu world. Another example, Kirara's technique is more "new age" which the HUs don't care for.
With Sukuna, in 248, he's used his opponents being people who fight him to prove something or fearing him. Now? Yuji breaks that mold. He's not someone fighting Sukuna to entertain him or even fears him. He's mad at him, he hates him and doesn't seek for his praise or to please him. He has accepted that he is a Jujutsu sorcerer.
Sukuna was used to his "old" ways, that he didn't account for Yuji to come at him with a different or "new" vibe.
So yeah, Yuji being the one to kill Sukuna would be fitting in my opinion. He was created to be Sukuna's vessel, but who says he couldn't also have been created to be Sukuna's threat? I mean, it is funny that Yuji was able to suppress Sukuna with ease.
Okay, that was long! 😆
**
Seriously, it's like do some of these people ever enjoy anything and want to talk about those things?
I get not enjoying something, but the endless cycle of complaining that "this chapter is too short", "that wasn't how I wanted it go", even "break again"!
Like, damn! Is there anything in the chapter you did like? Oh, now writers and artists can't take breaks? Wonder why we have strikes...
I'm not always optimistic, but I like some enjoyment in my life, too. Post some funny memes, write about why you like a character, ramble about a ship fic you like ans trust me you will feel so much better, folks.
Also, thank you, Anon!! 🌸💜💫
I don't think of myself as a bigtime blog with analysis and theory posts, but just someone who likes to share her many thoughts. I don't except anyone to agree with me or anything. I just have thoughts that I just post.

vexshipping is sooo cute i love hearing you talk about it!! i'd love to hear more about how bakura accidentally confesses and anzus reaction! for me i feel like between him freaking out and her working through denying her feelings he'd run off before she could answer and they'd have to have a redo confession later probably initiated by anzu this time since i imagine he'd be like a hissing scared cat thinking she was gonna come reject him every time so he runs off or hides (totally NOT in a cowardly way ofc its a tactical retreat obviously). but i'm curious on your thoughts too as vexshipping ceo ^^
I SMILED SO HARD READING THIS... YOU ARE SO SWEET....... ;U; !!
i just think bakura doesnt have a filter when he starts passionately yapping about his plans to fuck the world into eternal darkness or whatever and i think that towards the end of his speech when he's at his most manic he'd slip and say that "the stupid girl's charm won't work to stop him again" or something like that. they both know anzu isn't dense and immediately know what he just admitted to so of course bakura, wanting to get blasted into oblivion, disappears never to be seen again (until he is hungry or needs something). since at this point they'd both be pining and denying their feelings for each other i think bakura would be more angry at himself for giving "the enemy" (anzu, aka the pharaoh's "girlfriend" in his head) a possible weak point because in bakura's head there is no place for human feelings and he is just experiencing a side effect of sharing a body with a teenage boy or something (excuses excuses denial etc etc).
anzu is VERY conflicted about this because on one hand... did the evil spirit that's trying to kill her and all her friends (and the rest of the world!) just kind of admitted he likes her??? but on the other hand... oh my god the boy she likes likes her back??? ANZU GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER. anyways yes i think she'd also struggle to decide how she wants to tackle this but eventually go seek the feral cat out and like, talk their feelings out or something. which would make bakura want to die a fifth death.

legit the scene in Capsule Monsters where the millennium ring glows and then hops off of Alexander The Great of its own accord and rolls out the door is fantastic to me. For so many reasons.
The fact that the anime has already established that in this canon the ring has magical teleportation powers, but it decides to physically roll its way out anyway, because YB wanted to make a point I guess
One has to wonder how far he got on those little pendulums
Alternatively we've really only seen the anime ring teleport to a host, not away, so it's possible that he has to roll himself physically because teleporting will always send him back to Alexander. which is hilarious. fucked up his save point
The fact that the anime goes out of its way to make the ring the center of Alexander The Great Lore without mentioning Yami Bakura once. He had to have been in the ring but Alexander doesn't even seem to be aware of his existence. His decision to go "forget this, I'm OUT" is the only evidence we have that he didn't sleep through the whole thing
The fact that the ring is the center of Alexander The Great Lore but the ring isn't even physically present outside flashbacks because (since the anime writers deleted the manga scene where Bakura recovers it after Battle City) it's currently in a duffel bag in Yugi's bedroom on another continent.
Bakura didn't go on this trip, even. They did not invite him
So both of the Alexander ghosts are also in the magic pyramid so we don't even need it here. totally irrelevant. so like, why is the ring being involved at all. why are we doing any of this
questions I assume Yami Bakura asked himself and then decided that he had a 100% unbroken streak of Not Appearing In Filler Arcs and he wasn't going to fuck it up now with whatever this was
So he just goes "bye losers" and promptly deletes himself from the narrative
In conclusion,
