Omg! You watched you’re my sky?!! It’s so underrated I loved it! What are your thoughts??!!
Tyler, I’m obsessed! I finished it last night and I absolutely adored it! It now joins the ranks as one of only three Thai BLs I’ve ever rated 10/10. But what sets it apart from my other 10/10s is that not only was it good, but it was also fun! I’ve talked before about how my highest rated BLs and my favorite BLs rarely overlap. Part of this is because I have absolutely trash (read: filthy) taste, but most of it is because the more poignant/cinematic BLs are often depressing. You’re My Sky was such a good balance of both and it’s the only show that I’ve ever rated 10/10 that I would also consider one of my favorites.
The fact that y’all were gifted this gem in early 2022 is astounding to me. It hasn’t aged a bit and it has such a refreshing outlook on both queerness and sex. It’s been on my to-watch list for ages, but I kept skipping over it because it was about sports and I was unfamiliar with pretty much the entire cast except for Suar.
I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t seen it yet. It has the same writer as ITSAY and pulls on your heartstrings in the same way, but leaves you feeling less empty at the end. (Don’t get me wrong, I love ITSAY, but it’ll wring you dry.) There are three main couples and every single one of them is fantastic. I would even recommend this show to people who don’t watch BLs—that’s how good it is.
But anyway, everyone please comment below your most underrated BL because the fact that I went so long without watching this one haunts me. Like what else am I missing???

you're making me want to get into transformers,,, any recommendations for where to start
holy shit ok ok ok i'm so normla about this ask right now
transformers is fantastic. you've got the humour in the comics:
the representation is so good as well! there are canon gay couples and a trans lesbian couple too! marriage between two gay transformers is totally normal and it's never the butt of a joke, never made into a huge deal by anyone.
we also have a nonbinary character! acidstorm (cyberverse show) goes between their male and female forms from episode to episode.
"When questioned about this, Cyberverse writer Mae Catt offered an in-universe explanation for the inconsistency, stating that their changing appearance was "just something Acid Storm likes to do," implying the character is genderfluid non-binary. In response to further queries, Catt noted that "pronouns are up to Acid Storm."
and trans lesbians also:
the IDW comics talk about mental health and handle it really well:
there's a canonically neurodivergent character too. he's blunt, struggles with social cues, carries a set of "shapes" with him to help him adjust to unfamiliar situations. he's a respected and highly successful geologist.
"his mind expresses itself a little differently from others, but sometimes he can see things—patterns—that most of us can't. - windblade
they touch on abuse and trauma as well, especially when it comes to characters like starscream (tw for a description of physical abuse in the panel below)
anyway to actually ANSWER YOUR QUERY......
i would recommend a show like transformers prime if you’re looking to watch something. it’s very self-explanitory, talks about the war between the autobots and decepticons, and you get backstory on everyone so you don’t have to do a lot of research to Understand what’s going on. it also has some of the best animation in any tf show, as well as plenty of humour, soft moments, SAD moments, and scenes that will make you go WOAGHHGHGHG. it’s a 11/10 in my book. it’s actually probably the highest rated TF show there is if you don’t count G1.
another really really good show is transformers cyberverse. it continues on from tf: robots in disguise (wasn’t as highly rated, it’s not for everyone), which was the sequel to prime. the pros include: each episode is only 10 mins long so its good if you have a short attention span, it focuses on storytelling, and the cel-shaded animation is honestly GODLY. the only issue here would be that you may need to do more Googling to get the premise.
as for the comics, the IDW series is fantastic. the chronological order can look daunting to sort out at first but it’s worth it.
ALTERNATIVELY... you can just do what i did and bounce between shows and comics like a crazy person. i started with transformers animated, then went to the armada anime, and then prime, got into the comics, and then cyberverse. continuity? don’t know her ASBHDFJN

I love Chinese media lot! I got obsessed with that silly Great Wall movie (I still love it honestly), and then I got obsessed with Thunderbolt Fantasy, and then I found the Mo Dao Zu Shi novel and that was the final nail in the coffin LMAO
but here are some of my favorites (under a cut because it's literally just me rambling a bit):
Novels:
You would probably assume MDZS but no! Although yes, I am obsessed with it and it is my favorite of MXTX's books. But!
My actual favorite Chinese novel is 反派白化光环, a.k.a. The Villain’s White Lotus Halo. I love this book sooooo much. Every chapter renders me incapable of doing anything else except thinking about it. Unfortunately it's not fully translated yet, so it's not accessible to other people. Even worse, a lot of what's available seems to be machine translated which is just awful.
I do think it's very funny that a few years ago some people accused me of being an MXTX apologist because they didn't like my opinions about another famous Chinese author who I will not mention here, but I literally have a signed post card by the author of White Lotus Halo on my pegboard in my office and I paid extra to get that with a box set of one of her other series. Clearly, if I’m an apologist for anyone, it's TP. Anyway.
I also really like 泾渭情殇, a.k.a. Clear and Muddy Loss of Love. To be fair I hate the ending, the last few chapters are awful. But everything up until then is 10 out of 10. I just pretend the last few chapters never happened. This one is fully translated, and I think the translation is still available.
Manhua:
Anyone who knows me knows that I have one manhua that I love above all others, and it’s 我家大师兄脑子有坑, a.k.a. My Senior Martial Brother Has a Pit in His Brain. What can I say? This story is so hysterical to me. I'm over 400 chapters into it, and I love the donghua as well. Every episode of that (except for the 1st one???) has English subtitles but afaik the comic has never been translated outside of the what I've done (which isn't very much).
Donghua:
Aside from the above, I really like 时光代理人, a.k.a. Link Click, which I don't have to talk about because everybody already knows what it is. It's excellent, I'm ready for the 2nd season LMAO
A less well-known show I absolutely adore is 风灵玉秀, a.k.a. Sunflowers a.k.a. Soulmate Adventure a.k.a. Spirit Wind Elegance, whatever you want to call it. It's currently the only GL donghua in existence and although it can be a bit rough around the edges, it's super cute. It needs more support and love! You can watch it with English subtitles on Bilibili’s youtube channel and we’re also getting a 2nd season, yay~
There's 天宝伏妖录 , a.k.a. Legend of Exorcism which is very funny to me and can be watched on Netflix
Honestly so many more? I watch a lot of donghua. I'm really waiting for information about 六爻, a.k.a. Liu Yao. Hello? It's been so long, is the production team still alive?
Dramas:
香蜜沉沉烬如霜, a.k.a. Ashes of Love made me fucking yell! Literally made me yell "oh fuck” out loud. Show is insane. It's on Netflix, I highly recommend it.
There's also 镇魂, a.k.a. Guardian which… Look. I hate the book that this is based on but the show is absolutely bonkers and it is so funny, and I was in the middle of re-watching it and it got taken down from everywhere that I can access and I'm so mad about it.
延禧攻略, a.k.a. Story of Yanxi Palace is so good. Every single episode makes me scream out loud. Again, literally.
招摇, a.k.a. The Legends. I will admit that the very beginning and very end of this show are not great but 80% of what's in the middle is fantastic and I loved it.
Movies:
Other than The Legend of Hei, I really like 姜子牙, a.k.a. Jiang Ziya. So good, and the animation is beautiful.
I have to mention 哪吒之魔童降世, a.k.a. Nezha because it got a very limited release in America and I literally drove 3 hours each way to see this movie in theaters.
And I also like 新神榜:哪吒重生, a.k.a. Nezha Reborn, which I think is super fun. Although I feel like people in the circles that I was in didn't like it as much for some reason.
Honestly, I love Chinese media. I read a lot of novels, watch a lot of donghua and animated movies, and a lot of c-dramas. And if you want recommendations for any of those things I'm happy to provide ahahahaha

Hi I just saw your post about Israel and Palestinian. I don't know if you're the person to ask or if this is a dumb question but I was wondering if anyone has considered starting a second Jewish state? I was wondering because there's a bunch of Christian countries so why not multiple Jewish ones.
Sorry if I'm bothering you and Thanks for your time.
That’s actually a pretty interesting question. I am going to apologize right now, because I essentially can’t give a short answer to save my life.
I’m not a ‘Jewish Scholar,’ so while I can speak with some authority about the history of Zionism, I definitely couldn’t speak about it with as much authority as others. I mentioned in at least one of the posts I have written about the history of plans for a ‘Jewish state’ when Zionism was originally being proposed, and I can kinda of track the history of Zionist thinking for you if you are interested, though essentially it’s just about arguing where to go. But there are better scholars for this than me, so I would recommend Rebecca Kobrin, Deborah Lipstadt, Walter Laqueur … idk. Maybe just read some Theodor Herzl, honestly. With all of that said, I can speak with some authority about the post-war history of this in the Middle East. So let’s go.
In post-war times, there has really only been one serious discussion of an alternative Jewish state, as far as I know. And actually, this is part of why I find it so ironic that people are campaigning so hard to be “anti-Zionist” and to express views like “anti-Zionism” in their activism, because the Jews in Israel who are most anti-Zionist are actually the settlers of Palestinian territories, who want to secede and form a “Gaza-State” called Judeah. There's a great book about this called The Deadly Embrace by Ilana Kass And Bard O'Neill, if anyone is interested. Anyway, most of those people, who are largely Haredim (the Ultra-Orthodox Jews, though some of those settlers are semi Orthodox), have essentially been waging a “culture war” about what it means to have a Jewish state and what the identity of that Jewish state should look like basically since the 1980s.
There is a really good article about this that you can find right here written by Peter Lintl, who is a researcher at the Institution of Political Science for the Friedrich-Alexander Universitat. I’ll summarize it for the lazy people, though, because it’s like 40 pages. Just know that this paragraph won’t be super source heavy, because it is basically the same source. Essentially, the Haredim community has tripled in size from 4% to 12% of the total Israeli population since 1980, and it is probably going to be about 20% by 2040. They only accept the Torah and religious laws as the basis for Jewish life and Jewish identity and they are critical of democratic principles. To them, a societal structure should be hierarchical, patriarchal, and have rabbis at the apex, and they basically believe that Israel isn’t a legitimate state. This is primarily because Israel is (at least technically, so no one come at me in the comments about Palestinian citizens of Israel, so I’ll make a little ** and address this there) a ‘liberal’ democracy. Rights of Israeli citizens include, according to Freedom House, free and fair elections (they rank higher on that criteria here than the United States, by the way), political choice, political rights and electoral opportunities for women, a free and independent media, and academic freedom. It is also, I should add (as a lesbian), the only country in the Middle East that has anything close to LGBT+ rights.
[**to the point about Palestinians and Palestinian citizens of Israel: I have a few things to say. First, I have recommended this book twice now and it is Michael Oren’s Six Days of War, which absolutely fantastically talks about the ways in which the entire structure of the Palestinian ‘citizenship’ movement, Palestinian rights, and who was responsible for governing Palestinians changed after the Six Days War. If you are at all interested in the modern Middle East or modern Middle East politics, I highly recommend you read this, because a huge tenant of this book is that it was 1967, not 1947, that caused huge parts of our current situation (and that, surprisingly, a huge issue that quote-on-quote “started it” was actually water, but that’s sort of the primary secondary issue, not the Actual Issue at play here). Anyway, I’ve talked about the fact that Israel hugely abuses its authority in the West Bank and Gaza and that there are going to be current members of the Israeli Government who face action at the ICC, so please don’t litigate this again with me. I also should add that the 2018 law which said it was only Jews who had the natural-born right to “self-determine” in Israel was passed by the Lekkud Government, and I really hate them anyway. I know they’re bad. It’s not the point I’m making. I’m making a broader point about the Constitution vis-a-vis what the Haredim are proposing, which is way worse].
To get back to the Haredim, basically there is this entire movement of actual settlers in territories that have been determined to belong to the Palestinian people as of, you know, the modern founding of Israel (and not the pre-Israel ‘colonial settler’ narrative you’ll see on instagram in direct conflict with the history of centuries of aliyah) who want to secede and form a separate Jewish state. They aren’t like, the only settlers, but I point this out because they are basically ‘anti-Zionist’ in the sense that they think that modern Zionism isn’t adhering to the laws of Judaism — that the state of Israel is too free, too radical, too open. And scarily enough, these are the sort of the people from whom Netanyahu draws a huge part of his political support. Which is true of the right wing in general. Netanyahu can’t actually govern without a coalition government. Like I have said, the Knesset is huge, often with 11-13 political parties at once, and so to ‘govern’ Netanyahu often needs to recruit increasingly right wing, conservative, basically insane political parties to maintain his coalition. It’s why he has been so supportive of the settlements, particularly in the last five years (since he is, as I have also said, facing corruption charges, and he really can’t leave office). It would really suck for him if a huge chunk of his voters seceded, wouldn’t it?
Anyway, that is the only ‘second Jewish State’ I know about, and I don’t think that is necessarily much of a solution. I really don’t have the solutions to the Middle East crisis. I am just a girl with some history degrees and some time on her hands to devote to tumblr, and I want people to learn more so they can form their own opinions. With that said, I think there are two more things worth saying and then I will close out for the night.
First, Judaism is an ethno-religion. Our ethnicities have become mixed with the places that we have inhabited over the years in diaspora, which is how you have gotten Sephardi, Mizrahi, Ashkenazi, and even Ethiopian Jews. But if you do actual DNA testing on almost all of the Jews in diaspora, the testing shows that we come from the same place: the Levant. No matter how pale or dark, Jews are still fundamentally one people, something we should never forget (and anyone who tries to put racial hierarchy into paleness of Jews: legit, screw you. One people). Anyway, unlike other religious communities, we have an indigenous homeland because we have an ethnic homeland. It’s small, and there are many Jews in diaspora who choose not to return to it, like myself. But that homeland is ours (just as much as it is rightfully Palestinians, because we are both indigenous to the region. For everyone who hasn’t read my other posts on the issue, I’m not explaining this again. Just see: one, two, and three, the post that prompted this ask). This is different from Christians, for example, who basically just conquered all of Europe and whose religion is not dependent on your race or background. You can be a lapsed Christian and you are still white, latinx, black, etc right? I am a lapsed Jew, religiously speaking, and will still never escape that I am ethnically Ashkenazi Jewish.
Second, I think you raise a really good point about other religious states. There are many other religious majority states in the world (all of these countries have an official state religion), and a lot of them are committing a lot of atrocities right now (don't even get me started on Saudi Arabia). I have seen other posts and other authors write about this better than I ever could, but I am going to do my best to articulate why, because of this, criticism of Israel as a state, versus criticism of the Israeli Government, is about ... 9 times out of 10 inherently antisemitic.
We should all be able to criticize governments. That is a healthy part of the democratic process and it is a healthy part of being part of the world community. But there are 140 dictatorships in the world, and the UN Human Rights Council has condemned Israel 45 times since 2013. Since the creation of the UN Human Rights Council, it has has received more resolutions concerning Israel than on the rest of the world combined. This is compared to like … 1 for Myanmar, 1 for South Sudan, and 1 for North Korea.
Israel is the world’s only Jewish majority state. You want to talk about “ethnic cleansing” and “repressive governments”? I can give you about five other governments and world situations right now, off the top of my head, that are very stark, very brutal, very (in some cases) simple examples of either or both. If a person is ‘using their platform’ to Israel-bash, but they are not currently speaking about the atrocities in Myanmar, Kashmir, Azerbaijan, South Sudan, or even, dare I say, the ethnonationalism of the Hindu Nationalist Party in India, then, at the very least, their activism is a little bit performative. They are chasing the most recent ‘hot button’ issue they saw in an instagraphic, and they probably want to be woke and maybe want to do the right thing. And no one come at me and say it is because you don’t “know anything about Myanmar.” Most people know next to nothing about the Middle East crisis as well. At best, people are inconsistent, they may be a hypocrite, and, whether they want to admit it to themselves or not, they are either unintentionally or intentionally buying into antisemitic narratives. They might even be an antisemite.
I like to think (hope, maybe) that most people don’t hate Jews. If anything, they just follow what they’ve been told, and they tend to digest what everyone is taking about. But there is a reason this is the global narrative that has gained traction, and I guarantee it has at least something to do with the star on the Israeli flag.
I know that was a very long answer to your question, but I hope that gave you some insight.
As a sidenote: I keep recommending books, so I am going to just put a master list of every book I have ever recommended at the bottom of anything I do now, because the list keeps growing. So, let’s go in author alphabetical order from now on.
One Country by Ali Abunimah Rise and Kill First: The Secret History of Israel's Targeted Assassinations by Ronen Bergman Kingdom of Olives and Ash: Writers Confront the Occupation, edited by Michael Chabon and Ayelet Waldman The Girl Who Stole My Holocaust: A Memoir by Noam Chayut If a Place Can Make You Cry: Dispatches from an Anxious State by Daniel Gordis Israel: A Concise History of a Nation Reborn by Daniel Gordis The Deadly Embrace by Ilana Kass And Bard O'Neill Like Dreamers: The Story of the Israeli Paratroopers Who Reunited Jerusalem and Divided a Nation by Yossi Klein Halevi Antisemitism by Deborah Lipstadt Six Days of War: June 1967 and the Making of the Modern Middle East by Michael Oren The Yom Kippur War: The Epic Encounter That Transformed the Middle East by Abraham Rabinovich One Palestine, Complete: Jews and Arabs Under the British Mandate by Tom Segev Hollow Land: Israel's Architecture of Occupation by Eyal Weizman

MY PICKS: Top 10 K-Dramas
Disclaimer: These are totally subjective choices and I've justified them as per my preferences. Consider them friendly recommendations and let me know if you disagree. Also, I've discovered the wonderful world of K-Dramas over the last couple of years and they've really evolved not just in storytelling but also production value so I personally prefer the more recent ones. So for example I haven't put a very popular pick like My Love from the Star simply because I've seen better stuff since (don't shoot me). Anyway, 가자!
MEMORIES OF ALAHAMBRA
This is my first recommendation for anyone who's just starting out watching Korean television content simply because it's so different from what new viewers expect it to be. It's so gripping and thrilling. I would expect nothing less from Song Jae Jung's writing.
So it's a sci-fi show, set in Spain, about an augmented reality game, that seems to have physical implications in the real world, sending the lead, Hyun Bin on a rollercoaster ride to find answers. Exo's Chanyeol has a recurring role as the game developer, so that's exciting too. I learnt that he was cast because of his love for PubG. Lol.
Every episode will leave you wanting more, and you'll find yourself as desperate to search for answers as Yoo Jin Woo (Hyun Bin).
Granted, mid season, it gets a little complicated, especially with newer nuances of the game unfolding, but fret not because the characters are discovering the secrets of the game with you. So they're as confused as you would be, and that's why this show is so good! More so because the graphics are excellent! You can tell they really spent money on ensuring high quality work. You will really feel like you're part of the game with Yoo Jin Woo.
Anyway, if you are an EXO-L, or you like gaming, sci-fi, thriller and Hyun Bin, this show is great!
2. W - Two Worlds
Another piece of awesome from Song Jae Jung. I would still rank this show a little below Alahambra, because I think the makers made improvements from this sci-fi drama in Alahambra, in the sense of storytelling. Still, W is just as intriguing.
Oh Yeon Joo (Han Hyo Joo) gets sucked into a comic book where she falls in love with the lead character of the comic book, Kang Chul (Lee Jeong Suk). Sounds like a typical romance drama right? Don't be fooled because there are many many twists and turns along the way.
I feel like there is metaphor in there somewhere about existentialism, the creation and destiny. But maybe that's just me reading into things.
Lee Jeong Suk is extremely desirable as Kang Chul, unsuspectingly charming and endearing, and Oh Yeon Joo is an absolutely relatable character, and how she deals as an ordinary girl thrown into extraordinary circumstances is genuine.
I would say this drama is wholesome, with sci-fi, suspense, thriller, action, romance, filial relationships, and more. And while it's usually difficult to jam pack all this into one show without screwing it up, W emerges exceptional.
3. Extraordinary You
This show is so cute! If you want just a light hearted, quirky show, this is the one for you.
It's about characters in a cartoon becoming aware of their existence in a cartoon. But don't worry this is NOTHING like W.
The best part about the show is that it's not about the main characters of the said cartoon. It's the story about the extras finding their way in that world, hence the pun intended in the title. The main characters (of the cartoon) are actually the most dull, because they are bound by the laws of stereotypical high school romance. But the real stuff is happening on the sidelines, with Kim Hye Yoon as Dan Oh and Rowoon as Haru.
Dan Oh is a hilarious character and Kim Hye Yoon does a fantastic job of switching emotions when she's in and out of a scene in the cartoon. One minute she goes into character mode, next minute she's bitching at the sorry fate of her character when she wakes up, to the astonishment of the characters surrounding her (who aren't aware of their reality yet).
Rowoon has a quiet charm about him that perfectly complements Hye Yoon. Check it out for a chuckle and a taste of something different.
4. Crash Landing on You
This show is hard not to like. Apart from the poorly picturized tornado carrying our leading lady over the border to North Korea, this show is a wonderful Netflix and Chill kind of show, I think.
The cultural disparity between the South and North is interesting to watch and also entertaining. Like when they mention buying mobile games at an App store (a literal application store in a Pyongyang market).
Ri Jung Hyuk (Hyun Bin again) and Yoon Seri (Son Yejin) are such a delight in comedic, romantic, and dramatic scenes. But the scene stealer for me was Yang Kyun Won as Pyo Chi Soo, and his unshakeable nationalism that he is ready to set aside for some shampoo and conditioner.
The interesting thing is going into the show, you have an idea of the longevity, so ofcourse, Seri's journey back to the South ain't going to be easy, also her relationship with Ri Jung Hyuk is doomed, and yet you find yourself rooting for them at each step, crying with them during their failures and crying with them even in their triumph. But the most tears were shed for the least expected character, who simply left us all heart broken.
5. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo
In a world where women are expected to behave and look a certain way to be considered attractive by someone they're vying for, here's a food hogging, tomboy, weightlifting champ, with her first crush.
The premise may rope you into the show, but midway you realise that the heart of the show is in its characters, and without realising you become so invested in them that you feel their fears, insecurities, and cherish their victories with them.
This coming of age show really relishes on the quirks of each character, friendship, love and aspirations. It's not a very dramatic story which is probably why it didn't rate very high during its broadcast, but that's part of its charm, and that's why it's been able to gather a significant cult following since.
Lee Sung Kyung and Nam Joo Hyuk portray the most sincere friends and eventual couple. Their relationship blossoms in the most organic manner and it's so heartwarming. They're not cheesy or unrealistic; they even beat each other up! I don't think I've seen that level of comfort portrayed on screen so well before.
Watch out for guest appearances by Ji Soo and Lee Jeong Suk.
6. Strong Girl Do Bong Soon
I'll be honest, this recommendation is mainly for Park Hyung Sik. He's amazing in the show. And there could be no better supernaturally strong petite girl than Park Bo Young, either.
So there are actually a lot of things happening in the show, story wise, but I promise it all comes together in the end. There is quite a build up and I'm happy that it pays off adequately.
This is like a superhero show with all the spices and flavours of a Marvel movie, but K-Drama style. There's an invincible villain, some idiot gangsters for comedic value, romance (a love triangle infact), functional training, a point of lost hope for Bong Soon, and then her resurrection as a superhero.
It's all there, and more.
But Park Hyung Sik.....
7. Itaewon Class
This recommendation is simply for the refreshing change of representation on TV. I know a lot has already been spoken about it already, but I have to admit that that's what sets this revenge drama apart. That, and the music. Dayum, Start by Gaho is so catchy! And let's not forget V's Sweet Night.
This show starts off slow but give it 3 episodes before it gets to the real shit.
Park Saeroyi is almost too good to be true, and in that lies his shortcoming. His character is so strong that while watching him I forgot that Park Seo Joon was acting. And despite some unnerving moments I found myself rooting for him. He has some strong motivational lines too, like about his choice for a better life. His determination is almost unreal, as he goes on to take down his mortal enemy.
Some of the best scenes, though, are of Jo Yi Seo (Kim Dami), a sociopathic enterprising genius. She was the one who actually kept me hooked to the series. She added some much needed flair to the show, and as it appears to Park Saeroyi's establishment.
Actually, every character was strong, every character had a strong backstory and motivation for the action, and most importantly they never broke character.
Watch out for Park Bo Gum's special appearance.
8. Love In The Moonlight
Speaking of Park Bo Gum...
This show is all kinds of weird in the best way! A girl pretends to be a palace eunuch and falls in love with the crown Prince. That is so messed up!
But that's the fun part! And Park Bo Gum and Kim You Jung make it a wonderful ride. Full of quirky romance, political conflicts and hidden identity issues, this show is addictive af!
And even though this wasn't in the show and was just a promo, be sure to watch Park Bo Gum's Bombastic dance. It's adorable!
9. The Third Charm
I'm sure this is my least popular recommendation. But something about watching this show was so cathartic. I highly recommend it for those who may have gone through heartbreak ever in their lives.
This is probably one of those rare times when I was lost in the story instead of Seo Kang Jun's eyes. Hehe. This story is about an on again off again couple and their journey through life together and apart.
This was meant to be a healing drama, and it really does take you through the emotional evolution that comes with growing up. I think it's the perfect medicine for a healing heart.
10. It's Okay Not To Be Okay
This show! This is my current obsession. Kim Soo Hyun's comeback couldn't have been more perfect. Seo Yeji couldn't have been a more perfect casting. And the two leads couldn't have had a better chemistry.
This show is all kinds of whimsical and I love it. Also a healing drama, this show deals with.... Baggage....to put it simply. Some baggage may be bigger than other baggage, some even irrevocable. But seeing all the characters overcome this baggage is so fulfilling.
But the charm of this show is in Ko Moon Young's (Seo Yeji) craziness and the Tim Burton-esque setup, that really makes one perceive fairytales in a whole new way. I mean I always knew that fairytales were sanitized German folklore, but I never thought to find a very different messaging from the material. The parables are ingenious, and it really is a pleasure to watch each and every person on this show.
Special mentions: Goblin, Reply 1988, 30 but 17/ Still 17, My ID is Gangnam Beauty, Hotel Del Luna

Rating the anime I’ve watched (and rewatched) during quarantine!
Hi everyone, I hope you are all safe and healthy! I’ve been watching a a few animes while in quarantine so I figured I’d share some of my thoughts about the ones i watched! These are all just personal opinion and taste but I hope you enjoy! If you have any other anime recs for me please comment them, I got some really good ones from my last post here!
Demon Slayer, Rating 10/10
I really loved this one. Technically I started it before quarantine but I did finish it while in quarantine so I’m adding it to this list. I know this anime has so much hype surrounding it and honestly I think it lives up to its hype. It’s filled with action and intrigue and has a really awesome characters. I’m sad that the movie got put on hold bc of COVID but I’m sure it will also be fantastic. I really recommend this one, a solid 10/10 from me.
Fruits Basket S2 (2020) On-going, but so far Rating 10/10
I may be a little bias with this one bc I love fruits basket but so far season 2 has far exceed my expectations! I’m really glad that they came back for a season 2. This season has simultaneous made me so freaking happy, but then ready to ball my eyes out, sometimes even in the same episode. If you haven’t watched this anime yet, I high recommend.
Hunter x Hunter (2011), Rating: 10000/10
SO as you can see above, I really loved hunter x hunter. It made it’s way onto my favourites list almost immediately with its loveable characters and really interesting storyline. The friendship between Killua and Gon was one of the sweetest things I’ve seen in anime and the rest of the characters were just as entertaining. The only downside of this anime for me was that there wasn’t more episodes.
Naruto, Rating 100/10
This one was a rewatch for me and it was as fantastic as I remember. When I watched Naruto for the first time I never actually finished shippuden for some reason but now I’ve finally seen it all and I loved it. The characters are really what made this show super enjoyable for me (and the fact that its about ninjas bc thats cool af). All in all, I would recommend naruto to anyone willing to commit to over 700 episodes, and trust me its worth it.
Fire Force, Rating 8/10*
Okay this one has been all over my dashboard and fyp so I knew I had to give it a watch. I really enjoyed the fight scenes in this anime and the storyline was also really intriguing. I’m still watching this one but I wanted to include it anyway!
Hiiro No Kakera, Rating 5/10
Okay so at one point during quarantine, I really just wanted to watch shoujo anime so I decided to give this one a try bc I didn’t really know anything about it. Honestly, I didn’t really love it. The plot was interesting but the fight scenes were kinda subpar and over in like 3 seconds (even tho ik its shoujo and the fight scenes shouldn't really be my main focus). I didn’t really love any of the characters and I think that may have been why I didn’t rank this one very high and the romance was kinda eh. Overall, it was not terrible but definitely did not make it onto my list of favourites.
Given, Rating 10/10
Another popular anime all over my dash and fyp I knew I had to watch and it did not disappoint. This anime was so sweet and heart breaking. The LGBTQ+ representation in this anime was really nice to see and I genuinely enjoyed watching all of the romances unfold. Also for anyone who watched this, Mafuyu’s song broke me. I watched this anime all in one sitting so if you are looking for a fantastic short anime, I highly recommend.
Vampire Knight, Rating 7/10
This one was also included in my shoujo binge. Honestly, I enjoyed this one. The plot was generic and kinda predictable but tbh I think I mostly gave this a higher rating for Zero. I am so weak for the grouchy troubled characters who are also hella caring. Yuki and Zero’s relationship was what made me enjoy this anime as much as I did but the rest of it was kinda uninteresting. Cross was also hilarious and I really enjoyed his character.

On a scale of 1-10, how difficult is it to make a podcast? I’ve been following ANA since you first announced it (I’m so excited for it) and the other day I came up with an idea that I think would make a good series
Hey, thanks for the message! And thanks for being interested. Absolutely No Adventures has been a lot of fun to put together and it's nice to see that people are looking forward to it.
As for your question I'd say maybe a 6? But that's a really incomplete answer and I did a lot of searching for help on how to get started when I decided to do this so I'll give you more in depth breakdown of the steps and if you have more questions you can totally message me off of anon.
(1) Write The Thing
So yeah, no getting around it. The first thing you have to do is just write the podcast. For some people, this is the hardest part. For me, it was probably the easiest part because it's the thing I was most familiar with. You already have an idea, which is great. So now you probably want to sit down and figure out things like is this a limited miniseries or will it be on-going with multiple seasons? How long will each episode be?
You also want to make sure you write for the medium. For example, in a book, you can just say, "She hugged him." But if it's audio, you have to make there's some kind of indication for that (ie: Man: Oh, and now we're hugging).
Format doesn't matter too too much as long as it's consistent. I used film script format in Celtx (which is free) but people also use Google Docs. Just pick what's easiest for you and get going.
I also highly recommend you finish a full season of scripts (or the whole set if it's a mini series) before you move on. Some people write as they go and if you want to do that, cool, but it's one less thing to worry about once you're in production and you don't want writer's block to slow you down once you're already going.
(2) Casting
So this is where I left my comfort zone and had to learn to do things I was unfamiliar with. The good news here is, there are a lot of actors available to be a part of projects like this for varying amounts of money or no money at all if it's an interesting enough project. I will advocate for paying people if you can though because I wanna make money off of my art someday so I think it's only fair to reciprocate. If it is unpaid, just be upfront about that. It's common among indie projects so it's not scandalous or anything.
Anyway, the basic process here is you write up a casting call that says what the project is, what the deadline is for auditioning, and has some audition lines for each characters (called sides). Then you post on Twitter which has a pretty active voice actor community plus some other places like reddit and certain FB groups and auditions will start rolling in. Casting calls tend to spread--people came to me from Discords I'd never heard of. Once you get a bunch you can pick who you like or, if you can't decide, invite back some people for callbacks and then pick.
I think 2 weeks is a good length of time to keep auditions open, longer if you're looking for something really specific.
It's also possible to simplify this step if you happen to know friends who have mics and wanna help or if you want to do a podcast with a very small cast--maybe even just one person who could be you. There are a number of podcasts with that format. I maybe should have mentioned this during writing but I'll mention it here instead. Anything you have to write, you will have to produce, so keep that in mind. Like, when you're writing, it's easy to have a bunch of extras and sound effects and crazy things happening, but remember that you have to bring that all to life later, so maybe a different character can give that exposition so you don't have to cast ANOTHER person as an extra.
(That being said, most actors I've worked with are chill with doing an extra voice or two.)
Oh! Also. Time zones are a thing. Keep that in mind. I do no regret casting an Australian, a Brit, and Americans across the country because they were all fantastic, but it was hell to schedule.
(3) Recording
So there are 3 main ways to record--in person in studio, remotely together, and remotely apart.
Option one is kind of a no-go right now because of Covid so let's talk about the other 2.
Remotely Together means you get all your actors on a Zoom call with you and they're all in their studios and you record as if you're all in the same room. I did this for ANA and I think it's the best way to do it cause people get to react to each other in real time which is great. The only thing is, it means you have to line up everyone's schedules which is a total bear. Still, if you can do it, worth it.
Remotely Apart means you give everyone their scripts and tell them to send in their lines in x weeks. I did this for some episodes of Secret Podcast Number 2 and it works fine. But for the more emotional eps, we still recorded together. This method is good because it gets rid of timing troubles which was necessary since we're doing a December release (which, trust me, is crazy quick for what we’re doing), but there are some things, you want people to be able to adjust their intensity levels for in the moment.
Either way, but especially in scenario 2, I'd suggest you do a table read first where everyone gets on call and reads through everything. It helps everyone get a feel for each other so they're not going in cold.
Wrt directing, it can feel a little weird to tell people how to talk or inflect or how much they should be crying, but, as long as you're polite, just go for it. They're actors. They can take the notes. That's what they do. All of my actors were always super great about it.
(4) Production
Alright so you have lines in from all your actors.
The next question is, how are you going to handle your production? The actual putting together of the lines and cleaning them up and balancing and adding effects and all that?
I specifically wrote ANA to have relatively simply sound design and it was *still* too much for me to handle so I opted to outsource for that and it was for sure where most of a budget went. If you happen to know how to do this or have the time to learn, you'll def save yourself some money. It is still very time consuming though. The one part that I did do--deciding which takes to use from the lines my actors sent (aka: picking takes) and putting them together to send to my sound guy--took super long as is.
If you're going to hire/recruit someone to do this stuff for you, I recommend you do it before you cast because they'll be able to let you know if the actors who want have compatible audio quality.
IDK what standard procedure is here but the way it works with my guy is I send him lines and then he puts stuff together and sends me a draft of the episode. Then I say what I want changed in an excel spreadsheet with time stamps and we go back and forth until it's done.
(5) Ancillary Stuff
Theme music! You probably want that! There are a couple of routes you can go here. You can get something from a music library--either totally free or for a relatively small fee. This is the most cost effective but will probably more generic and likely in use somewhere else if it's fully free.
You can write it yourself if that's a thing you're good at obviously. Or you can pay someone to do it which will probably cost you a couple hundred bucks but will be totally tailored and unique.
Cover Art! Also very important. People do judge things by their covers so I def rec getting a really dope one made. Canva is also your friend for like icons and stuff.
A Website! You'll want at least a basic one for like contact info, transcripts, stuff like that. I just use Carrd. You can get a pretty classic, website-like setup by using sections and you can link to a custom URL for only like 13 bucks a year which is great.
(6) Marketing
OK so, I'm gonna be real with you, this is the step I'm working on now so I'm still figuring it out!
Besides posting on social media and stuff, you also need to make a press kit which is basically a doc with all the info about you and the show. You can see mine on the ANA site.
I also have mood-board-y graphics I made on Canva to drop with each ep (or ahead of them. Haven’t quite decided).
I will say, I’ve made friends in the community and a lot of them have hyped up my stuff without me even asking. Which isn’t me saying, “Make friends for what they can do for you.” Gross. What I’m saying is that just participating in the community can help.
Anyway, this is getting way too long. I hope this was at least somewhat helpful. Like I said, if you (or anyone else) has more specific questions, hit me up!

EQUAL RITES (1987) [DISC. #3; WITCHES #1]
“‘Where does it say it?’ said Granny triumphantly. ‘Where does it say women can’t be wizards?’
The following thoughts sped through Cutangle’s mind:
…It doesn’t say it anywhere, it says it everywhere.
…But young Simon seemed to say that everywhere is so much like nowhere that you can’t really tell the difference.
…Do I want to be remembered as the first Archchancellor to allow women into the University? Still…I’d be remembered, that’s for sure.”
Rating: 6/10
Standalone Okay: Yes
Read First: Yeah, if you like magic and bad puns, you’ll be fine.
Discworld Books Masterpost: [x]
* * * * * * * * * *
Equal Rites does not mess around. It’s early Discworld, so you’ve still got a little bit of that High Fantasy vibe to it, where sometimes Pratchett just spews fantastical-sounding terms and concepts so that the reader can’t forget that This is Fantasy, We Are Not in Kansas Anymore, Folks! And to be perfectly honest, a lot of the plot, especially the early stuff, is kind of forgettable. There’s a lot of people talking to people about doing stuff before the actual doing gets done, if you know what I mean.
But that doesn’t really matter, because Equal Rites has important shit to say and, by god, Pratchett is going to say it. And in case you didn’t bother to read the book itself, you can tell just by looking at the title that a) it’s about gender inequality in the magical community, and b) there’s going to be puns. So many puns. Sir Terry, please, take pity on me. I just don’t have the time to go around explaining to every person I meet on the street why this kind of thing makes me absolutely batshit feral for the Discworld.
I love it so much.
Anyway. Equal Rites is the story of Eskarina Smith, or Esk, the first ever female to be born a wizard. The whole concept of ‘the eighth son of an eighth son is chosen by the magical staff of a dying wizard to become a new wizard’ brings up a lot of questions for me—a lot of questions that will never be answered—but if I ignore that and just accept that it’s true, then by Discworld tradition Esk is undeniably a wizard. She is the eighth, uh, child of an eighth son, chosen at birth by the magical staff of a wizard who promptly dies and decides to be reincarnated as a weirdly randy tree and then, later, as an ant.
…Cool, I guess.
More importantly, and also by Discworld tradition, Esk undeniably cannot be a wizard, because she’s born female. Honestly, Pratchett might as well have named this Sit Down and Shut Up While I Talk About Gender Roles and Gender Inequality, You All Are Going to Listen to Me Because I’m Going to Make Bad Puns While I Do It.
Over the course of the book, Pratchett does some deep dives into what it means to be a witch, what it means to be a wizard, how they’re the same, how they’re different—and why none of that actually matters. For something published over thirty years ago, I think Equal Rites holds up incredibly well as a conversation on gender and society, and it’s still just as relevant as ever. It just goes to show that a) writing with thought, kindness, and care makes for a timeless product, and b) society really hasn’t made that much progress since 1987, has it? It’s a little sad that the issues Pratchett wants us to think about here are still just as recognizable and just as common in the world as they were thirty-three years ago.
(Kind of as a side note, there are definitely things I don’t think Pratchett considered about the basic premise he’s set up, namely that just because Esk was born with a certain set of genitals, it doesn’t necessarily mean anything about her gender. I’ve seen a lot of discussion, especially on the internet, about trans Esk, and trans wizards and witches, and what that would mean for the Discworld universe—really interesting stuff, things people should definitely look into, but not what I’m going to focus on here. I would highly recommend that people think about it, especially cis people like me. It would be wrong to go through Equal Rites without even bringing it up, even if I read the text as more as a discussion of gender roles rather than gender identity. Since Pratchett was a cishet man writing this in the 80s, I’m also willing to bet it’s what he was intending. But it’s still an important conversation to have.)
Anyway, let’s jump in and look at the dichotomy that Pratchett is setting up for us!
What is a witch? What is a wizard? How are they the same, and how are they different? Why does that split matter?
I did the messy work of going through my copy of the book and highlighting every instance where definitions are provided for ‘witches’ and ‘wizards,’ specifically so that I could run a compare-contrast, and I want to point out right off the bat that basically all of the details on so-called ‘defining’ features of these two schools of magic are provided through characters and their POV—direct dialogue and thoughts—not by word-of-god narration or omniscient POV. So, obviously, we have to run all this through the internal bias filter; this stuff is all what people believe about wizards, witches, and magic, not necessarily how things are.
What makes a witch, according to Equal Rites:
Magic out of the ground
Dress in black to look the part
Witches bow. They’ve got to be different from everyone else; it’s “part of the secret” (headology)
Cunning, old (or they try to look it)
Suspicious, homely, and organic magic
Appearance of magic can do more work than actual magic (headology)
“Leaving the world as it was and changing the people”
They can “Borrow” and work gently
“Fighting her [Granny] was like swatting a fly on your own nose”: if you don’t struggle and make waves, you can do a lot with less outright power
Do the messy, practical stuff, not just the flash
Always, “without exception, women”
What makes a wizard:
Magic out of the sky
Over-the-top ways of dressing up to look the part, often with robes and sequins
“Books and stars and jommetry.” (Granny absolutely does not know what geometry is, or what it is for.)
“Talked too much and pinned spells down in books like butterflies,” and looked at “numbers and angles and edges and what the stars are doing”
Wise, old
Powerful, complex, and mysterious magics
Magic is condensed out of the air and into the staff, and used by the wizard
“Magic changed the world in some way, wizards thought there was no other use for it”
Can’t “Borrow,” only take/seize control
Too busy with the “infinite” and “never noticing the definite”
Always, “without exception, men”
Witches “normally work with what actually exists in the world,” while a wizard can give thoughts shape, “put flesh on his imagination.” Witches learn to walk softly and move over and around an obstacle, while wizards puff up and fight to go straight through it.
Witches “need a head.” Wizards “need…a heart.”
In short, witches are self-taught, intuitive, grounded in reality, and fluid in their magic use—when they actually use it at all. They work with what they feel and what they know about the world. Wizards are academics and learn from set rules and their books, and their magic is often over-complex, overpowered, and difficult to control. Wizards are more rigid and structured in their magic use—ritualistic, even—but less connected to reality or grounded in the real world.
And, of course, both groups wear fabulous outfits and dramatic pointed hats!
Just look at ‘em. Such wonderful weirdos.
The more I look at the ‘definitions’ like this, all laid out and proper, the more I start to think that the witches who do things we would consider ‘bad’ witchcraft are just correctly using elements of wizardry. For example, think about Mrs. Earwig, with her books and rituals, her special tools and fancy dress code; even though she doesn’t focus on the world around her or the people in it, the way a ‘good’ witch would, she’s good at what she does, and so certain in herself that she can stare down the glamor of the Queen of the Elves without flinching in The Shepherd’s Crown. On the other hand, we have our classic ‘bad’ wizard, Rincewind, who demonstrates some exceptionally witchy tendencies—he’s excellent at headology even if actual magic isn’t really in his wheelhouse, as Interesting Times makes pretty obvious. And despite the fact that he’s a coward-sprinter who’d really rather avoid danger if at all possible, when it comes down to it, he’s still the man who’ll put himself between the world and a great evil with nothing but trembling knees, a spine reluctantly turned from water to iron, and a half-brick in a sock. As Granny would say, he walks the line.
So, really, what does gender actually have to do with it? Why is there a distinction at all? Is it actually important?
And to make a long novel short, what Pratchett is saying in Equal Rites is that it’s not. There’s no difference between witchcraft and wizardry that actually makes for a good reason for a gendered split. Men aren’t inherently better at math and academia, or as Granny says, “jommetry;” women aren’t inherently more practical, emotional, or intuitive. That’s a social construct, not a biological one.
And beyond that, even, there’s no real reason for the two ‘types’ of magic to be split up at all. They might be different ways of operating, but it’s all magic. Anyone could do either. Or neither. Or both.
There’s an early conversation between Death and the wizard whose mix-up with his staff marked Esk as a wizard—just after the man has died, when he’s realized that he’s passed his magic along to a female and, in his mind, made a terrible mistake. “I was foolish,” he says, “I assumed the magic would know what it was doing.” But instead of agreeing, Death tells him, “PERHAPS IT DOES.”
It all comes down to what Esk calls magic beyond magic—the reality of the thing beyond the concepts we’ve created to define and confine it. If we’ve invented these distinctions between ‘types’ of magic, between ‘types’ of gender and the self, then what remains once we’ve removed them? What happens when we peel them away and see what’s left behind? Why do we cling to our invented categories, the things that limit both sides and create conflict?
I really like that Equal Rites never puts Esk into a specific category. She doesn’t end the book as a ‘true’ wizard or a ‘true’ witch, but she also doesn’t fully reject either. As sad as I am that Pratchett never goes much deeper into Esk (her brief appearance in I Shall Wear Midnight doesn’t actually explain much), I’m fine with not having a concrete answer. One, the other, both, neither—it’s not the point. Magic is magic. People are people. Gender is, honestly, irrelevant. Beyond the academic divides we’ve made for ourselves, it’s all the same stuff given different names. Esk does magic, and she is herself, and in the end, she’s not bound by the limitations that witches and wizards put on their reality.
Infinite possibilities!
It’s something the other wizards and witches never get to have. They’re so locked into what they believe magic to be, what they believe themselves to be, that they never really look outside those boxes.
It’s wild to me that the concept Pratchett is introducing here—specifically about wizards and witches and gender—basically disappears as long as Esk does. Esk is a really cool character; the idea of female wizards and male witches is fascinating. I want more of all this. So, I’m genuinely sad that Esk doesn’t reappear again until the Tiffany Aching books, specifically I Shall Wear Midnight—in 2010, more than twenty years after Equal Rites was published. And we don’t get another wizard or witch or magic-user in general working outside their typical gender alignment until Geoffrey appears in 2015 in The Shepherd’s Crown and asks to become a witch, and even then, the witches take to calling him a ‘calm-weaver’ instead.
I like that the idea eventually comes full circle. I don’t like that the circle takes thirty years, and goes basically unacknowledged in the meantime.
But the point Pratchett is making is still there in the Discworld, and it never really goes away. Remember how I said earlier that this stuff—all this ‘witches do and are x, wizards do and are y, that’s how it has to be’ nonsense—it’s all what people believe about magic and such, not how things are? Pratchett and Discworld are huge on belief. Belief shapes reality, belief becomes real, and we see that over and over again. But part of what Pratchett is saying here is that even if we all believe in something, then it doesn’t mean that it’s right. Just because something is doesn’t mean it should be.
More importantly, though, it also doesn’t mean we’ve locked ourselves in place. Esk proves that much. We learn. We grow. We change our understanding of our reality and ourselves, and we believe something different. And then the world changes, too.
* * * * * * * * * *
Side Notes:
We get to see Granny Weatherwax for the first time! She’s absolutely fabulous and I love this sharp-tongued bitter old lady so much. In later books starring the witches we will focus in a lot more on Granny herself as a witch and a person, rather than just as a teacher.
Granny Weatherwax is said to live in the village of Bad Ass in Equal Rites. In future books, she will live in Lancre.
There actually aren’t that many footnotes in this one. Since I kind of just…expect footnotes to appear in every book Terry Pratchett touches, despite the fact that they’re super rare everywhere else, it’s almost weirder to not see a footnote every page and a half.
Esk does some magical nonsense—mainly by not realizing the magic she’s doing should be impossible—that ends up “changing the Discworld in thousands of tiny ways.” This is probably part of Pratchett’s attempt to slowly shift what he started establishing in The Colour of Magic to what we’ll see in later Discworld books, moving from High Fantasy to more of a, I don’t know, steampunk-y magical surrealism? What even is the Discworld, I ask you? It’s impossible to describe. But what Esk does to it here is described as follows: “the wavefront of probability struck the edge of Reality and rebounded like the slosh off the side of the pond which, meeting the laggard ripples coming the other way, caused small but important whirlpools in the very fabric of existence. You can have whirlpools in the fabric of existence, because it is a very strange fabric.”
We get our first mention of sourcerers here in Equal Rites, but they’re not very well defined. We’re just told that they’re now extinct. They’ll turn up in a lot more detail in a couple books, of course, once we get to Sourcery.
Favorite Quotes:
“I know what I mean, she told herself. Magic’s easy, you just find the place where everything is balanced and push. Anyone could do it. There’s nothing magical about it. All the funny words and waving the hands is just…it’s only for… She stopped, surprised at herself. She knew what she meant. The idea was right up there in the front of her mind. But she didn’t know how to say it in words, even to herself.”
“‘But,’ he said, ‘if it’s wizard magic she’s got, learning witchery won’t be any good, will it? You said they’re different.’ ‘They’re both magic. If you can’t learn to ride an elephant, you can at least ride a horse.’”
“The old witch yanked the staff out of its shadow and waved it vaguely at Esk. ‘Here. It’s yours. Take it. I just hope this is the right thing to do.’ In fact the presentation of a staff to an apprentice wizard is usually a very impressive ceremony, especially if the staff has been inherited from an elder mage; by ancient lore there is a long and frightening ordeal involving masks and hoods and swords and fearful oaths about people’s tongues being cut out and their entrails torn by wild birds and their ashes scattered to the eight winds and so on. After some hours of this sort of thing the apprentice can be admitted to the brotherhood of the Wise and Enlightened. There is also a long speech. By sheer coincidence Granny got the essence of it in a nutshell.”
“‘Never mind what I said, or common sense or anything. Sometimes you just have to go the way things take you, and I reckon you’re going to wizard school one way or the other.’ Esk considered this. ‘You mean it’s my destiny?’ she said at last. Granny shrugged. ‘Something like that. Probably. Who knows?’”
“Animal minds are simple, and therefore sharp. Animals never spend time dividing experience into little bits and speculating about all the bits they’ve missed. The whole panoply of the universe has been neatly expressed to them as things to (a) mate with, (b) eat, (c) run away from, and (d) rocks.”
“‘Why are you holding that broomstick?’ he said. Esk looked at it as though she had never seen it before. ‘Everything’s got to be somewhere,’ she said.”
“Why was it that, when she heard Granny ramble on about witchcraft she longed for the cutting magic of wizardry, but whenever she heard Treatle speak in his high-pitched voice she would fight to the death for witchcraft? She’d be both, or none at all. And the more they intended to stop her, the more she wanted it. She’d be a witch and a wizard too. And she would show them.”
“‘Million-to-one chances,’ she said, ‘crop up nine times out of ten.’”
“For a moment he nursed the strangely consoling feeling that his life was totally beyond his control and whatever happened no one could blame him.”

I was tagged by @chasethesun18 to answer some questions 😊 Thank you!!
1. Do you make your bed? Yes! I love making my bed.
2. What’s your favorite number? I want to say 17 because I was born on the 17th and I graduated in 2017.
3. What’s your job? I don’t have one, and I feel really bad about it because I’m almost 21 and I’ve never had a job before.
4. Can you parallel park? I can barely REGULAR park. I hate parking. I barely even like driving in general. It stresses me out.
5. A job you had which would surprise people? Refer to NO.3
6. Do you think aliens are real? I don’t know. I try not to think about it because I get confused and frustrated because I can’t decide lol
7. Can you drive a manual car? Nope.
8. What’s your guilty pleasure? I’m very open about and confident in the things that I enjoy, and I’ve tried really hard to think of something but I can’t. I’d say country music but it’s no surprise to anyone that knows me and I’m definitely not guilty about it lol.
9. Tattoos? No, but I’d love to have a few some day. I just have a very low tolerance for pain so it might take a long while to convince me lol
10. Favorite color? My favorite color scheme right now is olive green, pale pink, and gold. And I’m really into muddied colors at the moment, but my nail polish lately has been pastels.
11. Things people do that drive you crazy? Does endlessly hating on country music count? Like JUST SAY YOU’RE AFRAID OF FIDDLES AND GO, I DON’T NEED THAT NEGATIVITY IN MY LIFE
12. Any phobias? Lepidopterophobia AKA the fear of butterflies. If I see one in real life, I’m out the door and you won’t see me until it’s dead or gone.
13. Favorite childhood sport? I used to play softball because I wanted to be like my cousin, but I hated it lol. I never really did sports other than that but I loved riding my bike. I still do.
14. Do you talk to yourself? I literally narrate my entire life like I’m a daily vlogger alsdfjdkl
15. What movies do you adore? Right now I’m in a big horror kick so lately I’ve been re-watching Ready or Not (which is fantastic, I highly recommend it even if you aren’t a horror fan, because it’s more of a thriller and it’s also funny. Though, there is quite a bit of blood, so beware if that makes you uncomfy.) Otherwise I just watched Godzilla: King of the Monsters and I loved it, Godzilla is my main bitch and I can’t stop thinking about him lol
16. Do you like puzzles? YES YES YES!!! They’re so relaxing and therapeutic for me. If I could spend the rest of my life in a house in the forest (think the Cullen house) doing puzzles, watching game show network, and listening to music on repeat, I totally would.
17. Favorite kind of music? I like a bit of everything but I really love country/singer-songwriter/indie... You know? Anyway, listen to ‘Starfire’ by Caitlyn Smith, it’s my favorite album of all time and it has all my favorite sounds, if you really want to get a taste of what my music taste is like.
18. Tea or coffee? Coffee. Vanilla iced coffee, if we want to be specific.
19. What’s the first thing you remember you wanted to be when you grew up? When we had to pick for a project in 2nd grade what we wanted to do when we got older, I picked teacher because it was easy and I didn’t really want to do anything, I just wanted to be a kid and not think about it (I really was ahead of my time huh lol) But once I’d been into writing for a few years and realized in middle school that I could do it as a career, that’s when I decided I wanted to be an author.

📜 Sigil Magick 📜 this is a long one...
• I highly recommend not doing any magick of any kind without first performing the LBRP
What is a sigil?
• A sigil is a statement of intent/order given to your subconscious mind to manifest into reality
How can a sigil be used?
• stand alone or in a spell
Cons of a sigil
• on its own, it only works for small things such as a money (depending on how much you currently make and how much you’re asking for), change of habits, ways of thinking, minor illnesses
• you need to be VERY specific but you should be as specific as possible in all your magick workings anyway.
• you can’t do ANY magick out of desperation, sigils included.
• unpredictable (what do you expect? It’s chaos magick)
Pros of a sigil
• relatively fast acting
• easy and simple
• can be used in and on everything
• can be redone
• can be discrete
How to create a sigil
•pick any alphabet, I just use the English alphabet. A lot of witches say you need to use a dead alphabet but that’s wrong. You can use whatever the hell you want and it’ll work, EXCEPT RUNES. Runes are a complete magick on their own.
• create a statement of intent. Never use “never, don’t, won’t, will not, cannot, can’t” and always replace them with “avoid, or without.” ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS add “without harm” to the end of your statement. If you don’t, you or someone else could get hurt or die. This is not a joke.
• Be specific in when you want it to happen.
Example: “I successfully avoid smoking cigarettes without harm within three moon cycles.”
• assign your sigil a zodiac sign or planet. In this case, I’d use mercury. Mercury is the planet of health and is also the best planet to use when you’re unsure of where your sigil fits in. Pisces or Saturn would also work fantastic in this sigil, but i didn’t use those symbols in this sigil example.
• cross out any vowels. A, E, I, O, U, and Y.
Example: S C C S S F L L V D S M K N G C G R T T S W T H T H R M W T H N T H R M N C C L S
• cross out repeating letters
Example: S C F L V D M K N G R T W H
• at this point, a lot of people say to scramble the letters. I highly recommend you don’t do this until after you have taken note of your sigil. You want to keep track of the sigil you’ve made and when. I’ll get into this a bit later.
• create your sigil with the letters you now have and the symbol of mercury, then simplify that as well. You can create the sigil however you’d like. There’s no absolute right way to create a sigil. My way is to mash together all of the letters and keep it as simple as possible.
• I M P O R T A N T!!!! if you can see that a letter can be masked by another letter, for example, an R, C, D, M, W, or F in the letter B, then you don’t need to add those letters in anywhere else.
• at the end, your sigil should look something like this. *if your statement of intent is this exact one, at least create a sigil that looks different than this.* your letters can be partially detached from the rest, upside down, sideways, all sorts of funky, as long as they’re touching. As you can see, I used the symbol of mercury, and formed most of my letters into other letters that they can hide in. I always add a circle around the sigil I created and cut a square around the circle. I’ll talk about the symbolism behind the square and circle another time.
• time to take note of your sigil. I do this on my computer. Now, this may be a bit confusing. I wrote down the statement of intent on a word document, then save it to a folder specific to this sigil. It is usually titled with “sigil *date of creation/date of disposal*”. Then, I add the picture of the sigil, create 5 more pages of random text or images and then add the statement of intent. This makes it easier to keep track of what sigils you’ve gotten rid of without remembering what sigil is created for what. This method makes it easier to keep track of your sigils and is more forgiving if you accidentally open the wrong one. Just to be clear, it’s okay to check the drawing but not the intent of the drawing. You want to be able to keep track of what ones you are disposing of without remembering what it is for. It’s essential to forget your sigil, and if you look back and remember what sigil you created for what intent, you’ll fuck it up. HOWEVER, if you think the sigil may have worked, and you want to check back to see if it is indeed one of your creations, or even to see what changes could be made to a failed one, it is fine to do so. KEEPING IN MIND that if you look at a sigils intent that you remember, and therefore it will not work. Sigils ONLY work when forgotten. In the words of YouTube’s FreakyPhil1309, “Sometimes, thinking that you’re sigil has failed is when the sigil may actually happen.” This quote says to me that you shouldn’t check your sigil for a few months after you think it might have failed because it’s easier to forget when you think it hasn’t worked. This method makes it easier to keep track of your sigils and is more forgiving if you accidentally open the wrong one. Just to be clear, it’s okay to check the drawing but not the intent of the drawing. You want to be able to keep track of what ones you are disposing of without remembering what it is for.
• charge your sigil. There’s a few ways you can do this. The cool thing about charging your sigil is that it could work within a few hours to a few years, depending on how good of a job you did with charging and how specific you were.
1) staring. You will hold the sigil in your right hand, stare at one point on the sigil, vividly imagining that you already have exactly what you want (use your 5 senses), and keep staring and imagining until the sigil has a bright outline or “aura.” Keep going for a little longer after this has happened. It should be about 10-20 minutes. Your charging is done at this point.
2) sex magick. You can stare at your sigil while masturbating and imagining your outcome until you orgasm or are on the brink of orgasm. Then you’re done!
3) this is the one that usually takes the longest but it does work. I recently charged a sigil this way for better health since I was showing symptoms of an oncoming cold, and it worked within a few days, so you never know! What you’ll do is place it or write it in/on a spot you walk by everyday. I wrote my sigil very small on the corner my whiteboard. You don’t want it to be big enough for you or anyone else to notice, but enough for your mind to catch it. You don’t want to go out of your way to look at it. You want to forget that it’s there completely.
* EXTRA POINTS: this is when you can scramble your simplified statement of intent. Scramble them to the point that you can make a sort of sentence from it. Then, chant it as you’re charging your sigil.
How to store them
• I keep envelopes of all the zodiac signs and place the cut-out sigil into the envelope with the zodiac sign that I had assigned the sigil to. In this case, I assigned it to Pisces. Why Pisces? Because Pisces rules over the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind rules over addictions and habits. Therefore, we use Pisces. I’ll make a post on zodiac signs and how they can be used in spells another time. Just place the sigil in the sign you chose. This is the sign that the moon should be in when you dispose of your sigil.
Disposal
•I always write in the back of my sigil what moon phase and what element to dispose during. For this case, we will dispose during the waning moon and we will run it under running water until it dissolves.
• waxing moon vs waning moon. Waxing moon brings things in, waning moon pushes things out. If you want to bring in a new habit, which you should always do after banishing one, you’re gonna use waxing. Yes, this means two sigils. Example: a waning moon sigil would be “I avoid smoking” and a waxing moon sigil would be “I workout instead of smoking.” If you banish, you must invoke. If you want to get rid of something, as is this case, we want to use the waning moon.
# fire moon sign - burn and dump ashes anywhere you’d like EXCEPT your sink or toilet (NEVER DUMP ANYTHING MAGICKAL DOWN YOUR TOILET OR SINK. You’ll thank me later. You may want to also avoid throwing it anywhere on your property)
# earth moon sign - bury (again, preferably not on your property if banishing)
# air moon sign - burn and throw ashes in the air
# water moon sign - run it under water until it dissolves. Don’t do this with your sink. Get a few cups of water, go down the street (preferably to a storm drain) and keep the sigil in your left hand and keep pouring the water over the sigil until it’s gone.
EXTRA POINTS: dispose while burning a candle of the color of the planet you are using with the sigil carved into the candle, and/or during the day and hour of the planet your using, with the candle rubbed in relating oil and herbs. These aren’t necessary but do add an extra oomph.
KEYS
•first rule of magick is to tell no one about your current or future magical workings, or even ideas, but you can tell them about what you’ve done in the past or when they’ve worked.
•making a big deal out of a good outcome will make your next spell work less. If you are working with a habit, that habit can come back. You need to be nonchalant about a successful outcome. The reason being is that getting excited means to your subconscious that you didn’t believe that it would actually work, and then won’t work again in the future. Being nonchalant tells your brain that you had complete faith and keeps the magic going. This is essential.
• FORGET ABOUT IT!!! No magick will work without forgetting about it. You know when you are trying to remember something, but you can’t, so you move on, and THEN it hits you? That’s how it works. It will only manifest after you’ve forgotten about it. This is also why desperation magick doesn’t work. If you’re desperate, you can’t forget.
I know this was extremely long but I really hope it was educational and helps those who need it. There’s a lot of information given on this page that can change your life. There’s also a lot of information that isn’t fully explained such as what signs can be used for which spells, how the moon phases work, how the different elements work, etc.. I promise I will go over those another time.
TLDR; jumble letters into an image, stare at it for a while or masturebate to it, take notes, FAGETTABOUTIT, 🌋
If you have any questions or comments, feel free to drop it in my inbox.

@brokenspaceprince -- AND ANYONE ELSE WANTING TO VISIT GALAXY’S EDGE IN DISNEY WORLD (FLORIDA).
So I dont have a ton of super duper helpful information, just because I went there September 1-7th which was when Dorian was scheduled to hit Orlando. Of course, it never did. All we got was one night of rain. HOWEVER, thousands of people canceled their trips in fear. The parks were EMPTY. And I mean, EMPTY. So I don’t have any valuable data on crowd control or accurate wait times for Smuggler’s Run.
As it currently stands, Hollywood Studios is opening at 6am every morning (I think only until the end of Sept 2019) for people who are staying on property. My friend and I went September 2 and September 6th, and we got there at 6:30 am each time. One time, the wait was 40 mins for the ride, another was 20. We actually rode it about three times when the wait had gone back down to 30 one of the days. However, I HIGHLY URGE YOU DOWNLOAD THE DISNEY PARKS APP AND ADD YOUR DISNEY EXPERIENCE TO IT. THIS APP HAS THE WAIT TIMES FOR THE ATTRACTIONS ALL OVER THE PARKS. YOU CAN DOWNLOAD IT NOW AND KEEP AN EYE ON SMUGGLER’S RUN FROM HOME!!!!! I look at it every day to see if it gains more attention.
I’ve seen the wait times hit 80, 90, and 120. And that was with an EMPTY park. So just keep your eyes peeled. I do NOT know when they will open fast passes for the Galaxy’s Edge Attractions. AT this time, Rise of the Resistance is NOT currently open. I think it opens next month, so I can’t review that.
Smuggler’s run was good. It’s a mix between Star Tours (in Hollywood Studios outside of GE) and Mission: Space (Epcot). You have buttons to push to complete certain actions that happen during your flight. They will light up when you need to press them. Otherwise, sit back and enjoy a highly immersive flight inside the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon. I loved it, but it wasn’t quite as cool as I thought it would be. Not to worry, it was still AMAZING. The queue line is very decorative and hilarious. You won’t be bored waiting in line. Also, right before you’re ushered into the Falcon to fly it, you will come to a very memorable location upon the Falcon that I will show you in my photos below B)
The blue milk is tastier than the green milk, but they’re both delicious. You can get them alcoholic or non alcoholic and they are DAIRY FREE. They are almost like a slushie, but they use plant dairy instead of animal dairy so it shouldn’t upset anyone unless you have specific allergies. Very inclusive of Disney, I was impressed. Get the milk, you won’t be disappointed. Also, Galaxy’s Edge had only been open 2 days before Mecca and I got there -- so lots of cast members were asking us what our favorite flavors were when they saw us holding milk!
Chewbacca, Rey, First Order officers and Storm Troopers walk around randomly. I’ve heard Kylo does too, but I never saw him. Rey stops and takes pictures and interacts with guests. Chewie doesn’t do photo ops (but there is a spot to meet Chewie, BB8, and Vader at the Launching Pad not too far outside of GE in Hollywood Studios). Chewie recruits kids for a “special mission” which is really adorable. I won’t spoil that for you. The FO officers and the Storm Troopers have very limited photo op time. They’re really performing, so it’s hard for them to take photos. Try to just enjoy them without bugging them for photos.
Droid Depot is amazing. There, you can assemble your own BB-Unit or R2-Unit. It costs 99 dollars. The droids, as far as I know, are remote controlled and you can purchase a personality chip for them to beep and boop at you. They come in all sorts of colors so they’re highly customizable. You pull parts off of a conveyor belt and assemble the droid yourself. If you just want Droid Merch (which I did) you can also just look at the shop. It has merchandise with all sorts of droids on them!
ALSO, here is where you can meet the life-like, 25 thousand dollar R2D2 by the registers!!!! He is AMAZING. You MUST stop in the droid depot, if only to meet R2. He is fantastic. He followed Mecca and I around the store while we shopped and made conversation with us. He will beep back at you if you talk to him, he will react if you say certain things to him. Mecca told him he was her favorite, and he shrieked and spun in a circle. Very adorable and interactive. Definitely go meet him.
There is also a spot where you can build your own lightsaber. I did not go in there because it is 200 dollars to do so and I did not want to tempt myself. The sabers look amazing though, I saw multiple people with them around the parks.
There are two places to eat as far as I know. One is more “quick service” and the other is a restaurant. We did not eat at either place because we are picky eaters and we also went at 630 am - not a great time for dinner LOL.
Both of these eateries looked amazing and interactive. They were empty, of course, but I KNOW that when normal park crowding resumes, you WILL NEED A RESERVATION TO GET INTO THESE PLACES. YOU CAN MAKE DINING RESERVATIONS MONTHS IN ADVANCE TO YOUR TRIP. DISNEY IS VERY ACCOMODATING TO ALLERGIES SO PUT ANY ALLERGIES ON YOUR RESERVATION. MAKE. RESERVATIONS.
That being said, I’m not sure when Fast Pass will become available for the rides, but IF YOU STAY ON PROPERTY YOU CAN ALSO SELECT FAST PASSES MONTHS IN ADVANCE. DO THIS. I CANNOT STRESS IT ENOUGH.
Aside from those hot spots, there is a market place that has TONS of little shops inside of it. We did not stop at every single shop so I cannot tell you what specifically each store sold. I know one shop sold all sorts of critters!!!!! From the SW movies new and old. There is a first order shop if you’re with the first order, and there is a resistance shop. There are some outposts with resistance merch too!
The decor of the place is phenomenal. You really feel like you’ve stepped onto another planet. You are ON BATUU when you are there. Fully. The cast members even speak to you as such, and so does Rey when you meet her! It’s 600000% immersive even for Mecca and I, as adults. Imagine what it will be like for kids!
There are lots of places to obtain FREE WATER all over Galaxy’s Edge - and the Coke stands sell Coke bottles shaped like Thermal Detonators!!! They’re super cute and such a novelty. Be prepared to spend a lot of money for that coke, though. IT’s like a 7 dollar coke just because of the bottle.
Oh, also, they speak in SW lingo while you’re there. My apologies, it will be seven CREDITS, not seven dollars.
All in all, it was truly an amazing experience that I would highly recommend to anyone and everyone. I will be returning in July 2020 so I will get to review Rise of the Resistance then since it will be open. I will also review anything that might be new (character encounters and such) between now and then.
SIDE NOTES: Hollywood Studios still has Star Tours. It is OUTSIDE Of Galaxy’s Edge and it has been UPDATED to include TFA and TLJ characters! It’s randomized, so you still may encounter some older characters as well! The Jedi Training still happens RIGHT ALONGSIDE of Star Tours and it now includes Kylo Ren (which I think has been there for quite some time now). Little tiny Jedi’s get to go toe to toe with Ren and Vader. It’s adorable.
The Launching Pad is over by Voyage of the Little Mermaid. Here, you will meet Chewbacca, BB-8 (yes, hes interactive. you may speak to him and he will speak back, and the cast members will translate for you. very cute), and Darth Vader. We met all of them and had glorious experiences. Very well done. There are also some shops at the end of the encounters here.
AND SPECIFICALLY FOR @brokenspaceprince WHO ASKED ABOUT TRANSPORT FROM THE ORLANDO AIRPORT TO THE RESORTS - yes, the magical express still operates. You HAVE to be staying at a DISNEY RESORT on Property though, or it will not take you to your hotel. It’s fantastic. The Orlando airport as a whole is a great airport. You can’t get lost.
ANYWAY, THATS ALL I HAVE FOR RIGHT NOW. IF YOU HAVE ANY SPECIFIC QUESTIONS, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO ASK THEM AND I WILL TRY AND BE AS HELPFUL AS POSSIBLE. NOT ONLY FOR GALAXY’S EDGE - BUT FOR ANYTHING DISNEY RELATED.
THERE ARE SOME PHOTOS BENEATH THE CUT, BUT TUMBLR ONLY ALLOWS ME TO ADD 10 PHOTOS, SO PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK ME FOR MORE IF YOU WANT TO SEE AREA-IMAGES FROM INSIDE BATUU ITSELF. I WILL SHOW YOU MY ENTIRE LOG OF PHOTOS FROM AROUND THE PARK.

0:09 on stage, Tamino, ‘Jesus. Thank you, you were fantastic. I will never forget this. Thank you.’ 0:27 host in the studio, ‘Studio Brussel (radio station) organizes De Nieuwe Lichting (The New Acquiring) every year — our search for young, new, and musical talent. Tamino immediately stood out from the 900 applications. 0:36 host, ‘Habibi was a dark, compelling song, with a voice that suddenly shoots an octave higher, when you no longer expect it. So, I immediately wanted to know who was behind it [the song]. People who were driving when we (Studio Brussel) first played the song, said that they had to pull over to the side of the road until the song was completely over. They were also impressed. Therefore, Tamino won De Nieuwe Lichting. Highly justified (or ‘well deserved’). And then everything went super fast. Because, I think it is very exceptional for an artist without an album to be immediately performing on Rock Werchter. 1:14 ‘a month before Rock Werchter' Tom Pintens (EP’s producer) talking to Tamino, ’You suddenly lost your voice or something like that?’ — Tamino, ‘I have completely lost my voice. I have a cold.’ — Tom, ’A cold?’ — Tamino, ‘I think so. Los vallos (*couldn’t find a translation*).’ — Tom, ’You have to play again, huh.’ 1:33 Tamino, ‘Things you can’t really predict… Your voice can sometimes be really strange (*probably ‘your voice can sometimes work in mysterious ways/play tricks on you*).’ — woman out of frame, ‘Yes, that’s (his voice?) of course important for you. I also saw Propolis (throat spray) there. To take care of your voice.’ — Tamino, ‘No, I had a very bad cold last weekend. That was stressful. Fuck, this can’t be possible/happening.’ — woman out of frame, ‘From the second you get a little hoarse, you can’t perform anymore?’ — Tamino, “If I’m not the headliner, then no. It’d be ridiculous to try to sing my song. I wouldn’t recommend that to anyone (*probably means that he wouldn’t recommend singing with a sore/hoarse throat*). Not even to people who just sing in one octave.’ 2:35 ‘3 months before RW’ Filip Tanghe, Tamino’s musical director, ’Yes, the way you sing it now.’ — Tamino, ‘I can also just sing something (*probably a note that isn’t as high?*) more subtle.’ — Filip, ’For example.’ — Tamino, ‘sings a bit of Habibi’ — Filip ‘However you feel like.’ 2:59 Filip, ‘This is where foundations are laid. Everyone looks at it through a lens — a young guy with a hit. How would that be live (live concert)? While a normal band has opportunities for growth, also is allowed to fail performing live just once, and actually perform a shit show* (*kutconcert — ‘kut=cunt so it’s indeed saying like a horrible concert, but it has the implication of it esp feeling really bad for whoever is playing/attending if that makes sense. like you can say "een slecht concert" and it would mean a bad concert but kut is what u say when u feel like shit’ -- @heartbeated). Tamino was hardly granted that (*meaning that he isn’t allowed to fail*). 3:38 Tamino, ‘from performing at cafes to Rock Werchter in a few months, is pretty… But ever since then I knew, ‘okay, we’re going to make it work/get there.’ 4:02 ‘1 week till RW’ Tamino, sitting outside, ‘You can play to the ceiling (?) for a long time. Make music in your room, and have faith that people will find it. But to actually get that confirmation, it really is an indescribable feeling. All of a sudden it’s worth it. And that’s something I have experienced in recent months. And that’s also a huge driving force to devote your life to it. Because I really do that (*devote life to music*). It’s not a job that stops when you come home from work. You really have to do it all the time. And sacrifice a lot for it. I still have to get used to it. I know that I love doing it. — host, ‘I think that’s the most important thing.’ — Tamino, ‘That’s the most important thing anyway. Otherwise you wouldn’t do it.’ 5:49 ‘3 weeks till RW’ Tamino, in a hall with a bunch of people, ‘We used to play in bands together. You were allowed to put together your own band. And I did that with these guys. — host, asking the other guys, ‘So are you allowed to look for a new singer?’ — one of the guys looking at Tamino, ‘We have to talk about that.’ 6:13 Tamino, ‘we just got/received a basic theory, and some take it so seriously that they right away hear, ‘that’s this chord. That chord.’ — Tom Pintens, ‘I will go when a strange key chord arrives, I will point out (*gesticulates something*). (*not sure what they might be talking about here? @heartbeated contacted me and said, ‘akkoord in this case (at 6:13) im pretty sure means chord, like what u should be playing musically. i dont know a lot about music so that could be wrong but im *pretty* sure akkoord is a chord steengoed=very good, means ur like rly strong w it.’) 6:50 ‘1 month before RW’ Tamino signing his vinyl and handing it to a woman, ‘Here you go.’ 6:55 Tamino, ‘Is Dirk here?’ ‘Come here at once, uncle!’ — Dirk to Tamino, ‘Fantastic, I’m going to call your mother right away.’ — A woman, ‘You are ‘steengoed’’ (*couldn’t find a proper translation, but could mean ‘you are a pro’ or something along those lines.) — Tamino, ‘Thank you.’ ... 'Hello!' 7:09 Tom Pintens talking to the host, ‘It doesn’t happen often to me that people ask to collaborate, listen to it, and think, ‘what else can I add to it?’ Or ‘What is the intention?’ Because it’s already very good. But it turned out to be useful to continue to discover together what was possible. And that will continue for a long time. (*sentences sound a bit clumsy, but is most likely talking about working together with Tamino*) 7:38 Tamino, ‘I think it’s important to just do your own thing. And not to be too occupied with what is expected of you. Because that really doesn’t matter. It’s just about what you create. And the way you want to bring that out.’ 8:12, ‘1 week before RW’ Tamino sitting outside, talking to the host, ‘I had to learn a lot in a short amount of time. -- host, ‘But that goes without saying?’ -- Tamino, ‘That was thanks to the fantastic people who worked with me, and still do. Who have guided me in an incredible way. People that I’m going to be forever grateful for.’ 8:50 Filip, ’You don’t want to remember for the rest of your life that this was your worst concert/performance ever. You’ve only got one chance, your first time performing at Rock Werchter.’ 10:07 Tamino, ‘Work, is love made visible(?). If you enjoy doing your job, it gives so much meaning to life.’ 10:21 A fan after the concert, ‘He just remains himself. I still haven’t recovered from the last moments of the performance. The whole audience gave him a standing ovation. He just deserves it.' — 10: 29 Tamino, ‘Thank you.’ — The fan, ‘It was just beautiful. Goosebumps.’ (disclaimer: this was translated with google translate, therefore it might not be always grammatically correct or correct at all for that matter. @heartbeated, contacted me and gave me a couple of notes, because they actually speak flemish fluently. i added their commentary.)
#did i just spend an hour google translating this? why yes i did#tamino#tamino amir#rock werchter#dutch#video: rw

I know my blog has been pretty negative lately
With everything going on in the simblr community that is shitty, I thought it would be nice to get away from that and send out some love to my favorite simblrs. This is by no means a complete list-- I love everyone I follow and all of my followers. This is just simblrs I've talked to a lot or am close with, or those whose stories or posts I follow closely.
@camisimblr is one of the most friendly, funny, and down to earth person I’ve ever met, and the first person I truly talked to regularly on here. She’s working through her Not So Berry challenge and is currently on Gen 3. I really recommend checking it out, especially as the captions on her gameplay are always class. If that’s not your thing, no worries! She also has a new simblr game going on where she presents a sim and gives clues as to the parents for anyone to guess! If that’s not your thing, follow her anyways because shes an amazing person!
@simvanglade is AN ABSOLUTE RIOT. She is so funny and so kind to everyone (except Peppa.) She’s currently working through the Not So Berry challenge and is on Gen 1, so now’s the perfect time to quickly catch up since there’s so much more good stuff to come! Her gameplay is ace and her captions are so funny and relatable. She also has some new stuff on the way that I’M SUPER EXCITED FOR. 👀👀👀 Go drop this lady a follow (or else Peppa will come for you 🔪)
@simmingkatie is the SWEETEST human being, and she just has this natural aura of happiness around her that makes you feel right at home when you’re talking! She just finished her Pancake’s Rerun story, so it’s a great time to binge read that ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE. (honestly, go read it. It’s super good.) She’s also about to start posting her Bachelorette challenge with Alexis which is sure to be a great time, and is also working on Gen 2 of the Not So Berry Challenge! Also it looks like there might be some youtube videos coming 👀 Just like the other two above, if you’re looking for humorous captions and relatable down-to-earth commentary, look no further!
@fataleromeo is one of the most caring people I’ve ever met, and spreads love wherever she goes; Her writing is phenomenal, and her commentary is witty as hell. One of the many things she’s working on currently is her Fatale legacy. Having just finished Phoenix’s generation, it’s a fantastic opportunity for new followers to go back and catch up before she starts posting Ezra. (and from her amazing writing of the past two generations, it’s obvious that she’s going to absolutely SMASH this next one!) Alongside that, she too is about to start posting her Bachelor Challenge with Gabe AND has gameplay posts of the Not So Berry challenge (she’s up to the third generation!) With so many projects going (I honestly don’t know how she does it) you’re sure to never go long without some great content from her! I also saw a post about her making a sim for the human enough challenge and saying she probably won’t get around to it, but we can all hope, right? 👀
@weicyn / @cyanidelegacy I swear one of these days I’m going to go back to and read your stories from the beginning. This girl has SUCH GOOD STORY POSTS and if you’re looking for something to binge read, the Cyanide Legacy should definitely be a go-to! Along with her phenomenal writing, Cyn also has such a good and caring heart, and will help you wherever she possibly can! Go follow her!
@erosims is so supportive and helpful, I don’t know what I’d do without them if I have issues with either things in my day to day life or my cc. They’re also an amazing mod and cc creator themselves, along with reblogging others’ creations! If you’re looking for practical and incredibly useful mods and cc with a user who is incredibly caring and supportive, you’ve found the blog you’re seeking!
@skullysimblr is a blogger I look up to immensely. They’ve made it to !generation 9! in the Not So Berry challenge, and have hilarious captions to boot! If you have some time and want to binge some awesome content, I recommend going and showing them some love-- trust me, they’ll return it!
@toffeetip super kind and funny, and has amazing screenshots and gameplay posts, as well as releasing amazing cc! Just a very well-rounded blog that has everything you could ask for, tbh, along with a blogger that spreads love like crazy!
@starry-eyed-simss is currently writing Iorie Hills in her legacy challenge, as well as an AU for Strangerville. If you haven’t yet seen enough gameplay for the pack, I RECOMMEND IT HIGHLY (even if you have seen enough, you really won’t regret checking this out.) Iorie is an incredibly interesting and fun character and if you haven’t yet started reading that legacy-- oof. get over the their blog and catch up. I admit unashamed that I wait for the updates because I am THAT into both of these stories.
@liliumpixels is so sweet and so supportive to everyone she comes in contact with, and it’s the perfect time to follow her since she’s just starting out! I can’t wait to see everything she does!
@airedalerd is super funny, super nice, and super empathetic. This girl has so much heart in her. She’s just starting Secret’s of Brimwater, a mystery story that I’m so excited to see unfold. If you aren’t already, go follow; you definitely don’t want to miss anything she posts!
@liliithvatore really funny, stands up for what she believes in, and has a great story going with the vatores! her posts are so pretty and it makes following the story even better. also runs a great storytellers discord which is very helpful and friendly if thats your thing! If you are going to follow her, make sure you read the byf on the right side of her blog!
@carpakoi is honestly someone I look up to a lot. She takes everything that gets thrown her way in stride and stands up for what she believes in. She has great gameplays, great edits, and great storylines. The editing this girl can do? Stunning. Follow her!
@leafvy is a LIFESAVER with her name lists, and is so supportive of people in this community. Also, her edits? Fire. She’s going to start posting the Human Enough challenge soon, so follow her to keep on top of that!
@ounl is honestly just one of my favorite blogs? such a strong person who showers the community with love, makes great edits, makes AMAZING sims, and is just really true to himself which makes me really look up to him.
@cassgoths get it while its hot, who knows when this blog will be wrongfully terminated again 🔪staff🔪 But in all seriousness, they have such great story posts and you can tell they really put love into everything they do.
@roseiio has an amazing style of blog and editing, and has made quite a few challenges (my fave is obvs the reddit one) that bring the community together. also, they react to anon hate in the best ways, and just seem like a really funny person in general?? 10/10 blog
@toskasims-cc hilarious and so nice, I’m really glad we’ve recently begun talking no matter what drama it came from. makes really awesome and unique cc, go check out all they have to offer!
@alexaarr always so helpful whenever i reach out for help with wips! has AWESOME cc and is a genuinely nice person with a great sense of humor!
@glammoose is really kind and has great posts. knows a lot about music and is really fun to talk to. his sims have so much character which makes them incredibly lovable!!! also makes amazing cc! go check it out!
okay... i think ive rounded all of you up but I’m blanking right now, so I might (probably am going to) reblog with more people I love in the community!
