Hero Chat: Lila

This is just something for me to write out my thoughts on how to handle the Lila plot in the Hero Chat fic. And in general, but mostly this. Because I discussed using the ‘Lila has some kind of Magic’ plot for why everyone believes her.

I want to discuss both the ‘Magic’ plot and the ‘everyone kinda fucked up a little’ plot. Because both are things I want to talk out.

This isn’t necessarily salt, but it does involve Lila and the class believing her lies and a little of Adrien’s ‘don’t do anything’ plan. So you know.

Let’s start with the Magic plot.

I’m calling the Magic ‘Silver Tongue’, because of course. It was a kind of Magic created by someone who used the Fox Miraculous for selfish gain in the past. They used the Fox’s Illusions to trick their way into fame, money, and power.

Eventually, they created a more subtle version of the Magic. Illusion in just words. Silver Tongue is just words that are believed as much as the Fox’s Illusions. They are also just as real as the Fox’s Illusions, believable, but destroyed if you try to touch them.

What I mean is that as long as the Silver Tongue’s lie is not given proof that it’s a lie, they will believe it. But they won’t believe something they know is false. For example, Alya believes Lila when she says ‘oh, I’m bffs with Ladybug’. But if Lila said ‘I’m Rena Rouge’, Alya would be able to tell it’s a lie.

Which, yes, brings us to Lila. In an ironic twist, she was right about being descended from someone who used the Fox Miraculous, just not a Hero. She actually had no idea and was making it up but hey. Everyone gets lucky sometimes.

The thing that makes a Silver Tongue lose their power, is the realization that they’re lying. Once you know that their words are lies, you won’t be enchanted by further lies. This is why Marinette and Adrien aren’t effected by Lila.

Marinette knew Lila was lying due to her saying ‘I’m bffs with Ladybug’. She knows for a fact that it’s false. Between this and the fact that she knows other lies are false, such as Jagged Stone having a cat or Lila being traveling for months, she isn’t enchanted by Silver Tongue.

Adrien was suckered in at first. But Ladybug showing up and calling Lila out on her shit broke the spell. It would’ve been broken anyway if Lila kept talking about having the Fox Miraculous, as she would’ve made up stuff about it that Adrien would know is false. For example, he could ask her to transform and she’d make up a reason why that doesn’t fit with what he knows. And she’d say nothing about a Kwami. So he would’ve figured it out without Ladybug’s help.

However, while there is Magic making the class believe Lila’s stories, she doesn’t control their reactions to it. Sending Marinette to the back without asking, dismissing her as jealous, and ignoring how uncomfortable Adrien is around Lila? That’s all on them.

There is also nothing stopping them from doing their own investigation, other than the fact that they feel like they don’t need to because ‘Lila is obviously telling the truth’.

When the classmates realize they’d been tricked, they will still feel guilty and apologize, recognizing that they fucked up even if Magic was involved.

Now for the non-magical version!

There’s a lot of factors of why Lila’s lies work. Some of it is because she’s good at manipulating the situation, and making up other lies when she’s called out.

Next, there’s the fact that Lila knowing celebrities isn’t that far of a stretch given the classmates.

Chloé and Adrien are actually rich and famous, but are in this one random public school class.

Marinette has gotten the attention of several celebrities and big names in the fashion industry.

Rose knows Prince Ali. And while we don’t really know how often they talk, a lot of people assume they talk a lot.

Then there’s Kitty Section. The band has gotten a lot of attention in the short time they’ve been playing.

Alya runs the Ladyblog, Number 1 source of Ladybug news.

Not to mention the Heroes. Everyone knows about Chloé being Queen Bee. From Alya and Nino’s perspectives, there’s three heroes in class. Other classmates who have been Heroes think there’s themselves and Chloé, making two.

So yeah, Lila, daughter of someone from the Italian Embassy who travels a lot, says she knows some celebrities. That’s kinda believable when compared to the rest of the classmates’ fame.

But there’s also the fact that multiple people expect other people to fact check or say something. For example:

When Alya makes a post on the Ladyblog about Lila being ‘Ladybug’s bff’, Ladybug doesn’t challenge that. Ladybug knows about the Ladyblog and knows how to find Alya. From Alya’s perspective, if it wasn’t true, Ladybug herself would have said something.

Not to victim blame, but Marinette really should’ve done that. If only to keep Lila and her family from being targeted by Hawkmoth.

Rose talks to Prince Ali. She could’ve asked him about Lila. Everyone probably assumes she did. Since she didn’t call Lila out either, he probably told her she’s on the up and up.

I do headcanon that Rose mentioned Lila to Prince Ali, but she didn’t do major digging. It was probably like: Rose: “Hey! I made a new friend! Lila Rossi!”, Ali: “I’m glad you’re making new friends! Would you like to hear about this cool thing that happened earlier?”. It’s the kind of situation where she didn’t ask directly, and since Ali didn’t go ‘who?’, she assumed that it was fine.

Lila’s ‘disabilities’.

From the Class’s perspective, it’s not on them to ask for documentation. It’s on the staff. If the staff members believe Lila has tinnitus and whatever else, then they have the documentation necessary to confirm it.

As for the staff believing it, that’s probably Lila forging doctor’s notes and hijacking her mom’s email. Or giving a fake email on the paperwork.

Lila being out of Paris for months

Like the disabilities, the class doesn’t need to confirm it as the school staff have done that. After all, Lila couldn’t just be skipping class for several months without consequences! The school would’ve contacted her mother, and her mother would’ve done something about it!

Obviously Lila also used the email thing from the disabilities section to fake an email from her mom saying ‘we’ve been traveling lately. Can you email Lila any classwork she needs?’.

As for her mom, we know she’s lying to her about the whole Akuma situation. Saying the school is closed because of all that fuckery.

So yeah, between decent lies, people assuming things are cool because they’re naive kids who like to see the best in people, and a few screwups, it’s easy to believe Lila’s claims.

And once she has a hold on the class, getting them to believe her, she can turn things around on those who try to call her out. Marinette tries to say something? Lila pulls out the ‘I’m being so nice! Why do you hate me!’. And since, from the class’s perspective, there’s no reason for Marinette to be mean other than jealousy over Adrien, they assume that’s the problem.

If Adrien had spoken up, Lila would’ve found a way to turn it around. Maybe she spins it as ‘Marinette’s obviously been telling you horrible things about me!’ or ‘Now he’s making stuff up to protect Marinette!’ . It depends on how dedicated she is to thinking she can win Adrien over.

So yeah it’s not that they’re entirely falling for a bunch of lies without proof. There’s enough plausible to Lila’s lies that they don’t feel the need to search further. Of course if they looked into it they’d find the truth, but for now they’re sitting back.

And of course when they do realize what happened, they apologize to Marinette and Adrien.

Side note: Adrien’s view of ‘why does it matter, she’s not hurting anyone?’.

First of all, Adrien wasn’t there for all of Lila’s bullshit. He does know she was lying to impress him and the classmates. He might be skeptical about the tinnitus claim, but can’t really prove that she doesn’t have tinnitus(obviously he knows the ‘how’ is fake, but she could hypothetically have it from something else). And it wasn’t Lila who made Marinette sit in the back, just the classmates assuming she’d be chill.

Adrien didn’t see the scene in the cafeteria where Marinette tried to call Lila out and everyone turned against her. He didn’t see the bathroom scene of Lila threatening her. And no one told him about it.

So, again, from Adrien’s perspective, Lila is just telling grand stories to try and impress everyone. Which doesn’t really hurt anyone. Maybe it will in the long run, if people keep believing her and base all their decisions on what she says instead of thinking for themselves. But that’s a bit unlikely. Also he’s still a teenager and they’re not the best at thinking long-term.

Adrien’s experience with liars is also more limited. He would mostly deal with paparazzi and tabloid reporters that make up gossip for clickbait views. People who saw him hanging with Marinette in ‘Gorizilla’ and tweeted out that she was his secret girlfriend. There’s a line I keep wanting to put into a fic somewhere of Adrien saying ‘If my father stopped what he was doing to disprove every rumor about him having an affair with a model or intern half his age, he wouldn’t be able to get any work done at all.’.

From Adrien’s perspective, it’s not worth it to call Lila out like Marinette was doing. All it’ll do is enrage the class and push them further into Lila’s side. They would be alone. They’d have each other, but no one else.

As shown in later episodes, like ‘Oni-Chan’ and especially ‘Ladybug’, Adrien does come to realize Lila is less of a ‘hey pay attention to me’ liar and more of a ‘I’ll manipulate the fuck out of everyone and destroy anyone who tries to stop me’ liar. And he decides to do something about it. Even if he can’t prove Lila lied, he can ‘make a deal with the devil’ and get her to fix things.

A/N: So i really love this Shawn and I can’t stop writing.

Troy won’t leave you alone. He calls day and night. Texts you non stop. You even sent a text back telling him that it was over, to leave you alone. Somehow he couldn’t get that through his thick skull. He just couldn’t let it be over.

So when you’re heading out to wait for Shawn to pick you up, you aren’t that surprised to see him on your porch when you open the door. You don’t unlock the new screen door that Geoff and Shawn put on, you just stare at him in hopes he will vaporize.

“Hey baby,” Troy says softly, rubbing the back of his neck with his non casted arm. “Listen about that night-”

“What don’t you understand about us being over?” you interrupt angrily.

Troy takes a step toward the door and you step back into the house. “Baby...it doesn’t have to-”

“Call me ‘baby’ one more time and I’ll call the cops.”

“Excuse me?” he asks,. “What the fuck does that mean?”

“It means exactly what I said. I don’t want to hear from you anymore. I don’t want to see you. I don’t want anything to do with you anymore.”

“What? I don’t understand! Where is this coming from?!” He’s at the screen, fist closed around the handle and your heart starts racing. Troy was bigger than you. Even without the use of his left arm, he could probably still overpower you. You knew that violent streak was there, it always had been. Troy had always had a bad attitude and could fly off the handle at anything. It was a wonder you ever stayed with him as long as you did.

“Troy, you’re not a good person. I’m not in love with you and I never will be. I just don’t see myself going anywhere with you and so I’m ending it. It’s done. We’re done.”

He rattles the handle viciously and you stumble back against the sofa in the living room. “I’ll break a fuckin window if I have to. Let me in, I just want to talk,” he growls but you’re not going to let him in.

“Hey! You locked out or something?” a familiar voice calls from out on the yard. “Hey, pal, you’re gonna break that door.”

Troy turns around. “What the fuck do you-” He drops like a sack of potatoes and you see Geoff standing where Troy was.

“You alright?” Geoff calls out.

“Yeah, I’m fine,” you say as you cross the living room and move to unlock the screen door and squeeze out past Troy’s limp form. “Did Shawn send you to pick me up?” you ask as you turn to lock the front door and the screen once more.

“He did.” Geoff looks down at Troy. “Is this the ex?”

“Sure is.” Geoff raises his eyebrows and you look into your purse to make sure you have everything you need. You kick Troy’s legs a bit out of spite and annoyance as you step over him. “Leave him. He’ll wake up eventually.”

“Yes, ma’am,” Geoff laughs and walks you to his car.

Stepping out of the car, you look at the other cars in the driveway of Shawn’s house. You recognize Aly’s and Andrew’s right away. “Did Shawn call everyone over?” you ask as Geoff walks around the car and past you.

“He did. You’ll find out more once we get inside.”

You follow Geoff in and find your friends all gathered in the living room on the couches. Shawn walks in from the archway into the kitchen and strides up to you. He pulls you into a hug and you bring your arms up around his back. He’s very warm and smells like he just got out of the shower.

“Why do you smell like him?” Shawn whispers in your ear. It’s not meant to be threatening, you’re sure, but it is almost more of a growl than a whisper.

“He showed up. Geoff took care of it. We can talk later.”

Shawn just hums in agreement and leads you into the living room with an arm around your back. He takes a seat and pulls you down onto his lap. Everyone but Geoff and Brian are making surprised faces. Shawn pulls you back so you’re laying against him and he threads his fingers into your hair. “The reason why I had everyone come over is because we have some trouble in the area.”

You close your eyes and let yourself relax back against Shawn. You don’t care that Aly and Andrew and Ashley were all staring at you. You didn’t care if they didn’t like you and Shawn because you liked you and Shawn. You really, really liked you and Shawn.

“Recently, there have been attacks reported and it’s showing up on the news. People claiming to have been assaulted by werewolves. Now, obviously, it’s not us. That’s where the problem lies. There is another pack smearing our reputation we’ve worked hard to build.”

“What can we do?” Geoff asks with a heavy sigh.

“How does this involve us?” Aly asks, gesturing to the humans in the room.

Shawn slides his hand over your thigh and lets it rest there. You’re so comfortable you’re barely listening to what anyone was saying. The way Shawn made you feel was so different then anything you’d felt with anyone before. “Aly, it involves everyone in the room because we are all very close friends. You associate with werewolves and if this new pack decides to come after us, you’re going to be included. All of us are a pack, human or werewolf. Do you understand?” Aly nods. “As for what we’re going to do about this, I’m not sure yet. We haven’t been approached and so we don’t know who they are. I want all of us to keep our eyes peeled and if you go out at night, don’t go alone.”

Brian gets up off the couch that you and Shawn are on and you open your eyes, snapping out of your relaxed state. “Did you hear me?” Shawn asks and you nod a little. He’d said something about not going out alone? “I said don’t go out alone at night, okay?””

“Mmmhmm,” you sit up and Shawn pats your leg for you to get off his lap. You stand up and he moves past you to go talk to Brian and Geoff who have gone in the kitchen. You sink down into the warm spot that Shawn left. “What?” you ask Ashley who is giving you one of her famous ‘I know what’s up’ looks.

“Have you fucked yet?” Ashley asks and you flush red.

“Ashley!” you hiss and Andrew gets up, putting his hands up and walking toward the kitchen. He was not about to be present for the conversation that might go down. “For god’s sake, no.”

Ashley chuckled and Aly covers her mouth. “Just wondering. We never made it that far. Well, we never made it past the third date,” Ashley says with another chuckle.

“I hope it’s fine, y’know...me and Shawn...”

“Oh yeah, no I wasn’t into him. To be honest I was in it for a good lay but he’s not that easy of a guy.”

“That’s just fine with me,” you smile and snuggle down into the warm couch cushion.

Ashley looks into the kitchen where Shawn is standing at just the perfect angle so he can see you on the couch. “He’s got it bad for you. Shawn is never that affectionate.”

“I know,” you giggle. “He’s so gentle and sweet.”

“Oh my god you’re making me so jealous, shut up,” Aly chimes in, flopping over on the couch she is sitting on. “I’m so single it hurts.” The three of you laugh and chat a while longer until Shawn comes in and asks you to follow him upstairs.

Here are some examples why I think that it could be Bethany: The night when Mona hit Alison on the head with a rock, instead of Bethany, maybe they could be twins. When Melissa was talking to Charlotte (that night), that could had been Bethany. I think that they are all related to one another, just like Uber A. D. could be related to someone on the show, like Spencer maybe. ************** SHEENA CLAYTON'S "MELISSA IS AD" SOLO THEORY: Now im certain AD is Bethany OR Melissa! (Cite: @AKnowsAll à PLL clue handle has been dropping Bethany clues about twins and one twin starting with a "B" or clues involving the initial "B," 2017, Twitter) Melissa always said, she's been trying to protect spencer from. Day 1. AD never really hurt the girls. Not like Cece/Charlotte did. AD was just messing up their lives, and trying to get them to admit shiz, and revealing secrets they didnt (already) know. I always thought it would be interesting Charlotte was Peter Hastings’s child and was jealous that Spencer got so much attention from Peter.. This is especially interesting if we consider the possibility that Charlotte knew that Spencer was adopted the whole time and yet got embraced by the Hastings family. Melissa and Spencer were always at odds too which is interesting since I always thought Melissa was Charlotte’s friend.. The first thing Charlotte said after Spencer introduced herself to Charlotte was “Melissa Hastings’s little sister!” And I have always believed that to be a clue. Peter has been trying to protect his family from secrets that CHARLOTTE could potentially reveal and we never realized this. It seemed at the time that Peter and Jessica had a deal about ALISON.. But this could get a lot more interesting if their secrets revolved around the danger Charlotte presented. After all, when Jessicas initial secrets started coming out, interestingly enough the ones involving Spencer were about a girl dressed in Alis clothes, but NOT ALI. Those secrets came out of a sealed file she had with Jessica, but Charlotte had known the details of these secrets the whole time. Back to my suspicion that Melissa and Charlotte had a friendship/ agreement situation.. Supposedly Melissa had no clue the girl she buried was not Alison, but a “stranger,” Bethany young. And Charlotte had no clue the girl she was hitting with a rock was Ali, not Bethany. Both of them swear that they did what they did to protect a relative (Charlotte claims Bethany was going to attack Jessica, Melissa claims she thought Spencer killed Alison and she buried her to protect Spencer). Melissa and Charlotte DEFINITELY at least know each other, and because of my strong suspicion that they were friends / working together, I must say it’s awfully “coincidental” that each of them ended up killing the other’s enemy. (But they said there are no coincidences in rosewood!) And if anyone doesn’t believe Melissa hated Ali on that level, don’t forget about the NAT video where she barged into Alis room the night she disappeared demanding where she was. She also had told Ian that same night that if he saw Alison again, someone would get hurt. AND DEFINITELY don’t forget about the NAT club. Charlotte and Melissa were both linked to that club too. What was really going on with them that night? The first time Ali asked jason what the movie the club was filming was about (this was in “the first secret”), he said that if he told her, he would have to kill her. Maybe he meant it more than we knew. Don’t forget, Ian was Melissa’s boyfriend at the time and when he met up with Ali, he screamed at her about the videos, threatening that there were things about her and her family on there that could bring everybody down. Charlotte has also claimed that EVERYONE wanted the videos back from Ali, “Spencer’s big sister the most.” Now I find myself wondering which sister of Spencer’s she meant, if not both of them. Most everyone I can think of who wanted those videos had a link to the NAT club. What exactly has the NAT club planned to do that night? Why was an emergency meeting called, by Melissa’s boyfriend, no less? Also, considering that Melissa and Ian supposedly both wanted the videos back and Alison was the one who stole the videos, I find it intriguing that she demanded for him NOT to see her again, as I mentioned above, and even said that someone would get hurt if he did. Obviously I know she didn’t want him dating Ali anymore, but Ali was also the only chance they really had on getting the videos back. It could even be the real reason Melissa wanted to attack Ali. Maybe Charlotte’s real reason as well. This is even MORE likely when considering the fact that Ian eventually tried to kill Spencer because of these videos. He said “I’m doing this because I love your sister,” which is ANOTHER person mentioning Melissa wanting these videos back, badly… (Unless he meant Charlotte) I believe Melissa and Charlotte were in on the video motive together. I feel like Melissa and Charlotte both knew about A (Mona) and wanted to steal the game at this point. Then, I think about the fact that NAT club members have been attacked and killed throughout these A games. And I wonder if Charlotte and Melissa didn’t have a reason / motive for turning on the NAT club and trying to get the videos themselves, way back “before it all started.” Is this the time Melissa has been referring to? Maybe, at the very least, they thought the other members of the NAT club found out too much about them. I also think Jason was drugged for a specific reason, almost as if to distance him from the others. Supposedly our first A, Mona, believed that she had hit Ali, then later on admitted that she was the one who killed Bethany… Although technically, MELISSA killed Bethany. Maybe she just likes to cover for all her bosses. When Mona was revealed as A, it was clear she had revealed herself to Spencer on purpose. She wanted to recruit Spencer on to the A team and if she refused, she wanted her to disappear; she would make her disappear, just like when Alison disappeared. Mona mentioned working for someone all the way back then on the A team, someone who always had a plan. This has been revealed to be Charlotte, but I get strong vibes Melissa was involved too. Don’t forget, Melissa showed up at the masquerade ball as the black swan. She claims that Mona blackmailed her into showing up to distract Jenna. The problem is, that doesn’t make sense; it doesn’t add up. We have never learned of any plan that Mona had that Jenna stood in the way of, except dating Noel Kahn. Mona wouldn’t need Jenna distracted. But Melissa and Charlotte might have had a reason. The intention the whole time was for Mona to go to Radley. Maybe they wanted Mona in there to get answers about their family… Noel’s other girlfriend, Jenna, claims that Charlotte wanted that from her.. When the girls suspected Charlotte as A, they quickly got distracted and moved onto other options. The same has happened with Melissa. They could’ve worried that Jenna was onto them and their plans and therefore needed her distracted. Mona took the blame for everything she had done as A even though supposedly she had a boss.. Charlotte. Later on, when wilden was killed, Mona tried to claim she did it, landing back in Radley, which seemed deliberate once again. Then it came out that Charlotte did it.. But did she? Or was she taking the blame for something uber A did? Part of Charlotte’s story that didn’t add up to me was that she killed wilden because he was never going to let Ali come back and tell her story. Charlotte would be totally screwed if Ali came back to town and told the story of how Charlotte nearly murdered her and left her for dead.. Also, wilden hadn’t been posing an actual threat to Ali, yet the motive behind his death supposedly was “making sure he could never hurt my sister again.” This sounds like something that makes more sense if they were referring to SPENCER. Wilden terrorized Spencer, even beat her up while dressed up as the queen of hearts on the Halloween train, the same costume Melissa wore, sneakily AGAIN, allegedly “protecting Spencer.” The story also makes a lot more sense if instead of occurring with Sara Harvey, it occurred with Melissa, and Charlotte and Melissa’s roles were reversed from the way Charlotte presented in her flashback/ story. After all, Charlotte did refer to Sara as a decoy. I found it odd that Charlotte wasn’t around the night of the Halloween train, considering she was the one calling the shots. But if MELISSA was the one who wanted wilden gone, this would make some sense. Charlotte could have worried about being seen by wilden and maybe some others on the train. So Mona and Melissa show up in disguise and we are supposed to believe only ONE of them was working with Charlotte? If wilden knew what happened with Charlotte, I have a hard time believing he did not eventually find out what Melissa had done that night as well. And Melissa had more to lose by the truth coming out. Charlotte already knew she would probably just go back to Radley for killing and torturing people as opposed to getting arrested. The night Garrett started telling Spencer more detail about the night Ali disappeared and cast doubt on the story the girls currently believed, wilden killed Garrett. Because he worried his involvement might come out? There’s video surveillance of wilden yelling at the other queen of hearts about this, just as Spencer was trying to get Aria so Garrett could talk to her to her face. Also interesting, in Garretts flashback, we see Melissa calling someone frantically calling someone asking “what do I need to call the police to get your attention?!” We never found out who she was calling, but we did later hear allegations that Melissa called Charlotte to get her help with the videos. (Was that them saying part of the A motive outloud?) Melissa probably knew Charlotte and Wilden had a weird connection; maybe that’s why they included the remark about calling the cops. Wilden seemed to believe the person in the other queen of hearts costume shared the exact same concern as he did about the truth coming out. This fits the profile for CHARLOTTE, but if I am right about him knowing what Melissa did, it works for her too. Conveniently, when the other queen of hearts was about to show her face, Mona’s RV computer gets hacked. When Spencer asks who the QOH was, Mona says “your sister” and I ALWAYS wondered if this meant that Spencer had more than one… Since she didn’t use Melissa’s name. And it turns out Spencer does have more than one. The jury is still out there for me on if there was a third QOH, Charlotte. Either way, I believe Aria was drugged so that Garretts story would stop with Spencer. Conveniently, Toby had joined the A team around this time and was being used as a tool to make Spencer crazy and eventually this landed her in Radley. We know that Charlotte was on Ezra’s payroll, I bet she also provided him with info to make Spencer seem crazy also when she suspected him. But maybe the A team needed Spencer in Radley for reasons that go beyond her seeming crazy. I mentioned before that the A team’s games could “all lead back to radley” because answers about their family were in radley. Maybe they needed Spencer there to figure out some lingering unanswered questions they had. When Spencer first went to Radley, I ALWAYS got a weird vibe from Melissa’s reaction. I felt that she was playing dumb/ faking when she showed up at the school looking for Spencer. I think she already knew exactly where she was. I also found her word choice interesting when she visited Spencer at Radley and she said she felt like it was her fault Spencer was there because Melissa was supposed to be in charge of her. Maybe it WAS Melissa’s fault Spencer was there on a much larger scale. Melissa seems a little bit more connected to Radley than what meets the eye, don’t forget wren also said that Melissa was the one to connect Mona with Charlotte back in the early A days.. And maybe she was. Another thing that gets to me is that Melissa and Charlotte have both downplayed and/ or lied about how well they knew wilden. ALSO, Melissa refused to answer Spencer when Spencer asked if Melissa killed Wilden. A simple NO will usually do if you haven’t murdered someone and you’re asked if you did.. I think Charlotte covered for Melissa because Melissa knew a lot of secrets about her too so she “owed her.” Another Wilden/ Melissa / Charlotte link is the lodge fire night. At this point, Melissa and Charlotte both allegedly shared a motive again, they both wanted to find out if Ali was alive. This was the night Charlotte “used Sara as a decoy.” When asked if Sara was the other red coat, Charlotte said “when I needed her to be.” Does that mean that at other times, someone else was calling the shots? This plan was likely contingent on Spencer’s safety, hence Toby double crossing Mona and taking Spencer outside. Charlotte wanted Spencer and the other girls to help her find Ali, and Melissa wanted to find out if Ali was alive as well, so that works.. But Charlotte and Melissa describe what happened at the fire differently. Charlotte claims she didn’t plan on the fire, Shana showed up and the plan went to hell according to her. But Melissa blamed the fire on wilden, and had been seen telling Jenna and Shana that “those bitches would be at the lodge” that night. I think Charlotte was working with Melissa and therefore DID know the fire was going to happen; that’s why Spencer was not inside. Melissa could have been “distracting Jenna” again; Jenna finding out Ali was alive would mean trouble for Melissa and Charlotte. Melissa would make so much sense as AD. One might question why she would work with someone who staged her husband’s suicide note.. But Melissa could have been playing Ian. Married for love or an alibi? Maybe she was the one who married for an alibi because she didn’t want all her secrets coming out. And considering how well Mona did staging a scene at the bell tower back in the day, maybe Melissa enlisted her help faking Charlotte’s death. I’m bouncing between whether Melissa would still be working with Charlotte at this point or if she turned on her and actually attacked her, but either way she’s the perfect AD." So “I had a bad thought.” Lol. As much as I usually am against the idea of one of the girls or significant others (besides Toby) being A, I couldn’t help but notice that one of the girls would have a HUGE motive to turn Mona into Alison, ie) making her call herself Alison, sleep in her ��room,” wear her clothes, blonde hair.. BE her pretty much. That girl is Hanna, because Mona caused her to have an identity crisis because Mona admitted to actively changing Hanna and making her become a new version of Alison. Hanna went through such a terrible time after that, and a lot of her problems were caused by Mona. And Caleb found out about this and he wasn’t pleased. WE SAW THIS. He lied to Hanna about the brain in Mona’s locker; he never came out and told her it was him who did it, and he acted like he found out about it by hearing other people talk. The note that Mona found with the pig in her locker greatly resembled an A note, almost as if the the person who had written it stole Mona’s game and was now beating her. We once saw an “A” ending with A hacking into the Radley computers to get Mona’s visiting privileges that. People jumped to the idea of assuming Wren was involved.. But maybe we were seeing somebody FIX what Big A had done. CALEB is the one who caused Mona to lose her visiting privileges. Maybe that angry scene between Caleb and Mona was a CLUE. And maybe Hanna figured out by now that he is involved. Maybe this is why Caleb was able to hack in what seemed like very little time, to find the girls. Maybe he already knew where they were. After all, the dollhouse SUCKS for the girls, Mona especially since she has been there the longest. Maybe Caleb orchestrated this knowing that this unknown, mysterious “A” person would be blamed and nobody would suspect him. Like I said, it sucks there, but Hanna is OUT OF *JAIL* now at least which is where she was prior to this! One thing Caleb did agree with Mona on was taking Alison down too which is why she was left in jail. When the girls tried to turn A in, A cleared out their phones of all things A related. This A seems to possess the same technological skills Mona did. Caleb OPENLY fits that category, and before Mona’s “DEATH,” this was acknowledged out loud when she asked for Caleb’s help with hacking. Caleb probably found more things to use against her by doing this. He needed the girls to think that “A” was to blame for the dollhouse, so he couldn’t have them turn over that evidence at this point. Caleb never said that he stopped trying to take Mona down, so why do we assume he did? And Hanna obviously wanted to leave jail, and maybe she was willing to let Caleb do this if it meant her name would be cleared and even that she could leave jail. They showed her describing how awful it was in the finale for a reason. Tanner also said out loud in the finale that he suspected Caleb knew exactly where the girls were. Caleb does strike me as the kind of guy who would become A just to take the other A down for good. Could Caleb have stolen the game from Mona? And could Hanna be helping him? Didn’t Caleb wear a phantom of the opera costume once? The theme of Charles’s prom... Another point: I wrote this BEFORE Caleb put a tracking device on Hanna’s car and then the girls learned that Charles had put tracking devices in their bodies.
