Things I have discovered on this journey of hella worldbuilding I've been doing the past few months:

Fandom.com is hell due to ads. Especially on mobile

Fandom.com has very good lists of magic abilities/superpowers

I've been staring at it so much that magic will probably not feel like a real word by the end of the night lol

The biggest difference between what we call "magic" and what we call "superpowers" is the genre.

But! Progress is being made in some regards so yay for that

He has to keep his voice from cracking when he finally spots them.] "TIRESIAS!" [He cries out his friend's name as he dashes to them, gently but firmly taking hold of their shoulders in panic as he speaks.] "Tir, please- Tell me- Tell me they're lying. Tell me the voices are lying to me- Tell me you remember who I am, Tir, please-" [His hands shake on his friends shoulders as he speaks to the man. The voices had been whispering to him for hours, though their words had only just registered - Tiresias had, apparently, drank from the Lethe. The river of the Underworld; notoriously known for wiping the memories of anyone that drinks from it.] [So, like any logical person would, he instantly panicked.]

Then it snapped and no further questioning happened although there was the sudden shock and fear that maybe the effects were simply delayed, not implausible ]

“Polities. I—they aren’t exactly . . . lying. I don’t know what they told you but I— I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have given in but it was too much and I’m not going to see them again, and I already lost Athena, it won’t be long till I lose you and Ody, too. And Caleb. And I—“

[ they choke back tears, shifting away from their friend and curling inside themself, far too many thoughts rushing inside of them ]

11 for Marcel, Anatol and Roman because he's bundled in with the Ana package: Marcel was my first WoD pc, so he's largely a port of my main DnD guy (Dillup the Diviner) who also got blended with Midnight Gospel dissociative ennui and Mackgyver goofiness. Anatol... less fun and goofy, this one. Ana/Roman were originally built to be kinda a parable tackling my thoughts/feelings regarding to "trans widow/er" narratives and spiraled out from there. I haven't posted their full origin story outside of the snippets in Limits, but a lot dwelling in that uncomfortable zone of folks reaching for things they do not have language for, so they reach into the phantoms they construct of loved ones as mooring points and then freaking out when those points prove to be imagined/changed. Also just a general exploration of "toughing through" a relationship that perhaps has reached its sell-by date. Roman is married to an image of Ana that never was/will never be but has convinced himself that is a natural state that must be returned to. Ana is married to an image of Roman (the man who was disowned by his family to be with Ana, who despite being a bit of a patriarchal terror in his own right was one of the few folks who begrudgingly gave him space/grace outside of his own father) that Anatol has convinced himself is someone he needs to rebuild/is the touchstone he needs. This is also mirrored with Mihal/Kliment, except Mihal in a shocking twist is probably the only motherfucker in this generational pain cycle to recognize, in that one moment, that he was chasing a construction and just... letting go, letting that fixation die. Understanding it was making him and the person he claimed to do everything for worse. That he was unconsciously doing what his own sire did to him, and ooooh no if there's anything he hates more than being passe it's being reminded he's very similar to the Old Dragons. Also the fixation was immediately resurrected when Ana entered the picture, because pobody's nerfect but lil ruffly bugboi tried.

Wow I've already done a massive ramble anyhoot there's a healthy dose of Artemy Burrakh from Pathologic 2 in Ana as well bc I had Pathologic brainrot when I was first drafting him, lmao. He also got his last name Stamatin from that game.

7 for All Assortment of Lads: Marcel is a Divination Wizard, as was his Dillup Double! And like Dillup he'd def find a way to become a Hag. Ana would def be a Warlock of some stripe, likely a Great Old One patron. He'd be a human and be grumbly about it. Eliza is pretty straightforwardly a halfling Rogue. Roman starts as the lvl 1 Runescape farmer and ends up as a pretty bomb ass Ranger. Mihal would be the patron Ana's praying to, lol. 26 for All Assortment of Lads: Ana compulsively categorizes people he meets as different types of flora so this is the perfect question!! Ana- Venus fly trap Roman- Strawberry Blossum Mihal- Eidlewiess Kliment- Red Rose Eliza- Blue Hydrangea Marcel- Ivy/Kudzu 27 for Ana and Macel: Marcel is a Cuckoo Shrike bc he barrels in out of nowhere and completely wrecks other people's houses for his own ends. Like, look at this stupid son of a bitch, I hate him:

Ana is def some kind of weird lizard or stickbug. Part of me wants to say "do dragons count bc he's genuinely the type of kid who'd buy one of those Dragonology books growing up and also his grandfather was an Obertus Monk so Big Lizard Stanning is just a family tradition" but also another part of me feels like that's a cop out tzim answer lol.

28- Ana and Marcel: Marcel rolls with the skaters/burnouts smoking by the dumpsters after school before doing some light shoplifting at the Casey's down the street. Ana rolls with the theater kids to Perkins at 1am as the designated Butch Carabiner Haver of the department. Roman is the single jock at the end of the queer theater table struggling as the "Sure I Am An #Ally bc my S/O is queer but don't get it twisted I'm straight ha-ha" boyfriend. Maybe someday I will dig out the wacom tablet that I know to be existing in a desk drawer somewhere to do my own OC doodles but today is not that day lol.

It's been pretty predictable so far, but it has managed to surprise me aswell, I'm very invested!

More rambling for the cool folks:

Traditional has always been something that intimidates me. When I was younger I stayed away from it cause I couldnt animate like i could on the DSI (shoutout flipnote studio ✌) and as I got into digital more, I continued to stay away from it besides small doodles.

2023 has been the year of trying new things for me, and working on traditional has been super tough, but so worth it. It has helped me so much (to be fair, I always wanted to do more traditional but never believed in myself lol) that I can truly appreciate the hard work it takes to make certain pieces.

I'm excited to see what comes of it in the future! I really hope I get to open my shop next year, I'd love to give my paintings to people outside of my hometown.

Anyhoot, that's enough out of me, thank you guys again, having support from you, close friends and family, I cant be more grateful, I hope to do what I can to give back to the people who supported me..

And while I dont quite think Fujimoto is asking to have Disney lawyers at his doorstep anytime soon I think theres some inspiration to be drawn here. Because I think the Devil is something directly tied to both America and its many many wars Justifications: "Freedom"

Guntrotting warloving americans will often joke about "Dispensing freedom" into destabilized countries with a power vacuum and the attrocites American soldiers will commit in the name of "Freedom" is inumerable. Not to talk about all the shit the CIA does behind the scenes. I think its very fair to say the concept of "Freedom" and its american flavor of it can and frankly is a pretty feared idea. And it also ties directly into being a child of war because you would only fear freedom as a concept when its used to justify the attrocities commited to your people, using Bombs, Guns, Tanks, artilery, missiles etc during a "war"

It is also very ironic to have the Embodiment of the fears of Freedom imprisoned in a monument dedicated to the concept.

theres a few things against this though. Why did specifically only NPA members lose their trigger finger and not like, soldiers carrying out these atrocities. How do you make freedom a power that is both reasonable and something you can like stop in the story, Im a little stuped on these questions specifically but hey Fujimoto is a far better writer that me so he can figure it out lol

hi! i really love your designs, the colours are always really well done anf the characters are full of life.. and i love how your rewrites give the characters complexity and make them really interesting to me, much more so than canon(though i am a fan of some ideas introduced there, they don’t quite turn out in ways that make sense to me)! i’ve been wondering a few things about helluva troupe for a while however and hopefully the answers aren’t spoilers, lol.. in HT, what is Fizz’s involvement with the ‘troupe’ and what is stolas’s involvement too.? i wish you much luck on your work as it is lovely to see! With Fizz it's,,, a bit Fuzzy, because hilariously he's the whole reason I made this AU among other things But I ended up makinh him a sorta side character antag again because while originally he was going to be part of the main crew from the start of HT's storyline, as I went along in trying to write I saw some cool hcs about his star clown days and so I thought to use the more canonized view- mostly in that he's a star clown during the events of HT instead of dropping the show life to join Blitz in I.M.P. That previous version is why you see him in the I.M.P references- and hinty hoo that ol version isnt completely null and voice to the current HT

ANYWAY so yeah- While Fizz isn't as much a main character as he was he still has a great deal of importance to the story and themes I want to express in HT. When it comes to him and the Troupe itself, I could best describe him as one of the biggest foils or parallels to the main cast. Just,, he's this golden image that represents their every want fulfilled. For Blitz especially given their thick history heehooo. (That's not to say this 'golden image' is entirely as it seems btw...)

Now it sounds much like canon I know but I like to think I'm taking a different direction with it- It's not really just the "haha you suck with relationships, fuck, shit, pénis im doing better look at my good relationship" nonsense cuz for 1. Fizzarozzie does nOT exist anymore- its Mamzie now 😊 (Mammon + Ozzie) and 2. The themes with Fizz and really most of HT has less to do with the melodramatic romance "will they wont they" of Stolitz (which isnt really a thing either) and more the struggle impoverished and oppressed peoples experience with success, failure, identity, community, family, status, history, trauma, etccc. Specifically, because I am an indigenous person from Canada, a lot of the themes are drawn from my own experiences, knowledge and history as an indigenous person. Though with execution, creative liberties were taken to make the fact they're in Hell clear btww-

Specifics and how it happens and wheNNN?? Im still not sure yet if im honest- been really busy the last year or so and so Ive hadnt had any time or energy to work as much on writing all the things! ;u; thats probs disappointing to hear cuz plaNNing and all is important if you're gonna post story stuff at all,,, but !! ANYHOOT ONTO STOLAS! i rambled a bit too much about Fizz cuz im still figuring him out- Stolas might be a bit shorter cuz his role is sweet and simplisticerr.

So, Stolas is an antagonist. He and Blitz still have an exchange sort of deal, but the deal is Blitz gets to keep the grimoire for I.M.P if he handles Stolas' "errands" and gives it back on the full moon with ofc none of the uh,,hawny stuff, obv. Blitz kinda keeps this deal under wraps from the rest of I.M.P because for him, it hurts his pride to admit he's in need of some big guy's help. And Stolas is somewhat aware of this. And so, Stolas is this looming, cruel threat that Blitz carries the burden of cuz he's stubborn as fuck whilst the rest of I.M.P remain ignorant.

Some bonus notes that dont really have to do with Stolas involvement with imp but jus how stuff ive changed with his canon influence the story diff than canon; so, Stella isnt a thing anymore. In general the Goetia work much differently- majority of the Goetia being the children of Ozzie instead of Paimon (who is Stolas' sibling now btw too) and the Goetia being thousands of years old instead of fucking 30- Also! While Via is existant she is but a baby instead of a moody teen,, ties heavily with Stolas' motives and how he operates as a character, royal, and Goetian and felt it would work better with how HT Stolas is as a character than it would otherwise.

Also no worries about the username! I dont like canon stolas much either lol,,;
