Keanu characters + couples Halloween costumes:

John Wick:

John wants to say he doesn't do costumes. He complains, gently, saying he's too old to dress up anyways, but he can't say no to you in the end. He thinks you're funny when you suggest being a nurse since you're always patching him up all the time, but he also can't deny the image of you being a sexy nurse either. You also joke about him being a literal baba yaga and he finds that less funny. In the end, you two go as something that's actually as far from his work as possible, something simple and cute that ends up leaving John feeling happy he can have a moment of fun. Even if that is just staying in, watching cheesy horror movies, and giving out candy with you.

Kevin Lomax:

Unlike John, Kevin would totally go for the obvious with an angel/demon couples costume. He might even ask to be the angel just to throw people off, not to mention seeing you in a sexy devil's costume (especially if you're typically an innocent!reader) would really turn him on. He also likes to keep the costumes a bit higher class, so what you're wearing is not coming from the corner store or the mall. No, Kevin is buying you louboutin red bottoms to match a skin tight Alexander McQueen red dress. And, well, maybe the devil horns and tail do actually come from the mall...

Neo:

Neo doesn't want to admit how badly he loves dressing up. He likes being able to be someone else from time to time, just to get away from his typically boring on the surface life. He likely is asking you to be in 90s nerdy pop culture cosplay for Halloween, maybe even leaning onto the more goth side of media. He would take inspo from movies like: The Crow, Blade, Underworld, and maybe even end up asking you to be the Sally to his Jack.

Ted Logan:

Ted would love any outfit that he could easily pull off being stoned in. Think Shaggy and Velma (bill might even tag in as Scooby). Another great one you two cook up is Garfield and Hello Kitty, but Ted also adds that, Garfield is also, of course, stoned. There's also a possibility for you two to get into a lot of silly innuendos costumes as well, but with Ted's mind they would likely not make much sense. Possibility for you to convince Ted on a historic costume and getting him to take you back in time for period accurate clothing. Also, don't be surprised if it turns into a thrupple costume with Bill.

Evil!Ted Logan:

He would think couples costumes are stupid at first, and maybe even berate you about it (crybaby!reader watch out!). His mind would change when he sees there's slasher Halloween costumes at the mall, and he decides he and evil!bill can probably get away with more mischief if they're masked. He would probably try to talk you into being either the final girl from a slasher to reenact some fantasies, or ask you to be a sexy ver. of Ghostface or Freddy.

Constantine:

Constantine doesn't do costumes. He will likely not even end up breaking like Wick, and instead is a meanie about the whole thing. He shows up in that damned suit he always wears while you're out here in your cutest sexy girl outfit (think angel, playboy bunny, cat woman) and only ends up feeling bad about the whole thing after you storm off and cry. He apologizes the best he can, and ends up trying to make it up to you by being more social at the party, and telling your friends that he's dressed as "Vincent from Pulp Fiction" or some other character that comes to mind that wears a suit. Next year, you make him promise to actually dress up, and when you two do it's totally cheesy ones he hates but allows for you, such as Joker and Harley Quinn-esque.

Jonathan Harker:

This ones fun because you two are going to a masquerade! You get the most gorgeous gown with all the frills you please, with a gothic touch of course. Jonathan isn't usually one who dresses overboard, but tonight he has dressed to the nines for you! He looks sleek and dark, stunning in an illusive mask that for some reason has you feeling more of his dom side. Jonathan actually ends up really getting into it, and he charms you all night long as if he's almost another man entirely. The beauty of the masqurade conceals and invites freedom to be someone you're typically not, and by the end of it, you can't wait to take him home. He can keep the mask on tonight.

It was comical, how different you and your adoring boyfriend were. 

It was a comparison that many pointed out, if they didn't know either of you too well. Ted was generally optimistic to the point of obliviousness. He was cheerful, goofy, and was physically incapable of being rude to anybody; it wasn't hard to see that he was an all-around good guy. And the complete and utter truth was that you weren't any of those things. Blunt, pessimistic, always having a hard edge to your words. 

To an outsider, it seemed impossible that people who were completely diametrically opposed in terms of personality and demeanor could be in a relationship in the first place. After all, there was that old saying: "opposites attract", but that usually didn't work outside of the movies. Differences brought conflict, and the more things people had in common, the better. 

However, any of your mutual close friends would know of your insane, ridiculous soft spot for your partner-in-crime. 

Maybe the fact that Ted was so sweet was why you couldn't bring yourself to be truly mean to him. Maybe it was why you were still so incredibly attracted to him. Usually people who weren't so bright just got on your nerves, and you didn't have much patience for morons. But Ted was a special case. Sure, you teased him, but it was never anything more than that. And somehow, every time he screwed up doing something it was just cute. Nothing else. 

At first, it caught you off-guard. And it still did, but you were kinda used to it by now. 

Speaking of now. 

Your legs were propped up in his lap, and he was hunched over somewhat, scribbling on a legal pad that he probably had taken from his dad's office before he and Bill moved in together. His bangs kind of obscured his eyes, and you observed admiringly how now and then he flipped his head back in order to get them out of the way. He always had nice hair. And yes, it was as soft as it looked. 

Bill wasn't in their apartment at the moment, as he had left maybe two hours ago to go hang out with some buddies. He'd asked you and Ted if you wanted to go -- you liked Bill, of course, but the same couldn't be said for that particular group of people. The thing you wanted to do the least right now was talk to people. Or socialize with people at all. 

Ted wasn't people. 

Reclining back on the sort of disheveled green couch, which was probably suffocating under all the pillows, you briefly turned your attention to the TV. But you only got a quick glimpse of whatever cheesy sitcom was on before Ted broke the companionable silence. 

"Babe?" He turned the legal pad towards you, and the page he was using was covered in the chicken scratch otherwise known as his handwriting. Oh, he was brainstorming lyrics again. "Does this phrase in particular come off as too … crazy?" Brow furrowed, he pointed to a sentence. "I know you know that this song is supposed to be most ludicrous, but I don't wanna cross a certain line." 

"Duh, you and Bill decided to call it Trapped In Clown Land," you pointed out.

"It's a metaphor, babe!" He announced cheerfully, unphased by your dry remark. 

Sitting up to squint at the page, you realized that with how fast he'd been writing, his usual scrawl had degraded even further. Normally, you could pick out a couple letters and move from there, but it was impossible this time. 

"Uh, Ted, I can't read that." You poked him in the side with your toe. "Translation, please." 

He smiled, scratching the back of his neck. "Oh. Yeah. Sorry, babe." Lowering the pad, you noticed that even he had to focus a little to read what he'd written. 

"Shoes too big to fill / Out of fashion, but he's coming in for the kill," he recited slowly. "Something like that. Might reword it later, but I'm usually no good at rhyming stuff." The aura of self-pride radiating from him was palpable, and you reached out to ruffle his hair. He didn't protest, beaming a little. 

"I think it's fine." Shrugging, you leaned backwards again. "The big clown shoes reference is kinda direct, but just enough so it comes off as clever." For a guy who'd almost flunked English, Ted wasn't too bad at songwriting. Well, maybe you were a little biased, but you'd seen your fair share of awkward local bands to know what worked and what didn't. (Suddenly struck by a wave of intense secondhand embarrassment, you tried to suppress the memory of that one time the vocalist screwed up on stage.) 

But, thankfully, Ted intervened. "Your input is totally appreciated, babe." He leaned over, kissing you softly; it was over too soon, and he was right back to work. 

All of your efforts to dispel the cringe-worthy recollections were promptly diverted to trying to preserve your dignity and not melt into a puddle. Which was funny, because usually he was the one blushing and hiding his face. 

"Obviously," you managed to supply, and the TV suddenly looked very interesting. 

It was a little while longer before the legal pad got placed delicately (thrown) onto Ted's bed, and his arm was wound comfortably about your shoulders, his other hand in yours. Even before you started dating, something about his very, very good bear hugs was incredibly tempting. And now that you were, Ted's habit of being a cuddler had increased tenfold. 

You weren't one to break some nice peace and quiet, but this time you had a valid reason. Surprisingly. 

"Thanks for staying with me," you murmured into the crook of his neck, and even though you were used to being honest, you still felt your face heat up ever so slightly. "I know you and Bill always hang out, and you have a lot in common with those guys, too. You could've gone with them." 

" 'S really nothing," came his reply, sounding so easy and genuine. Warm. "I know that you didn't wanna go out today. Especially after you ranted about Jenna being most bothersome at work. It's totally understandable." 

You scoffed, unable to help your natural urges to make at least one venomous comment when prompted. Still, the mushy feelings in your heart didn't dissipate. "Like she always has. Isn't it a requirement for someone who works at Claire's to at least have the capacity to put up with whining tween girls?" 

"It should be," agreed Ted, his thumb running over your knuckles in a slow, gentle motion. "But don't pay too much mind to it, babe. You only gotta deal with her for, like, a couple hours." 

"It's still too long." You softened, tone growing more affectionate rather than irritated. "Not everyone has your patience." 

"But -- " 

He opened his mouth, probably to protest or deflect -- most likely at the same time, but this time you were the one who leaned up to kiss him. Unsurprisingly, it took him a second, but he quickly reciprocated, turning his body to face you more in order to make things more comfortable. 

Satisfyingly, when you parted, he was the flustered one, too distracted to continue his previous statement.

top 5 mythical creatures/cryptids

i am less a cryptid person than perhaps i ought to be, but i AM obsessed with mythical creatures so thank you extremely for this one. will include media recs for each bc i’m thinkin about it anyways

1. vampires. obvious but true. versatile, sexy, and always. and please excuse me for this one. a bloody good time. they’re even gay! recs: the invitation (movie), what we do in the shadows (movie and tv), the lost boys (movie), interview with the vampire (tv), tanz der vampire (musical)

2. depictions of death. reapers, death gods, etc etc. objectively fascinating as a lens to how cultures/creators view death. are they relentless? are they gentle? are they frightening? can they be bargained with? i love these funky little dudes. recs: hades (game), bill and ted’s bogus journey (movie), anything terry pratchett that involves death (books)

3. faeries. (please god do not mistake me for a sarah j maas fan.) i love that they’re weird and interesting and have their own rules in traditional lore and i love that they’re cute in modern lore. recs: shadowhunters (tv) does a surprisingly good depiction of fae, and a court of fey and flowers (d&d series) isn’t 100% faerie faeries, but it’s fantastic feywild-but-regency stuff (there are gay people in it! go watch it or any dimension 20 series!)

4. dragons. while i was not a massive dragon kid you gotta respect perhaps the objective goats of creaturedom. who among us has not wanted to sit astride a dragon. also httyd was so formative to me i feel i would be betraying hiccup and toothless to leave dragons off. recs: how to train your dragon (movie), dragon rider (cornelia funke book), the dragon prince (tv), nimona (comic/movie)

5. kitsune/kumiho. this is not bc of naruto, my mom blessedly saved me from that show when i was like 7. this is bc of okami, which you should absolutely play if you’re into like. zelda games and such. you play as a wolf who is also a goddess and the art style is beautiful

I've done well out of drawing stuff that'll appeal to the Queer Cartoon-Watching Teens, but they're a fickle audience and getting less reliable so time to target the staple fandoms instead.

The current plan is to start with the Star Trek stuff, because that's going to be portraits and I can do those in my sleep. If I can get Kirk and Spock done, that's a solid start. The Torchwood team print is also small portraits, so that's potentially doable as well, and a good shout for my next event since it's an 18+ evening con so the audience will be a bit different to usual. (I'm intrigued about this con, I don't know how it's going to go, but the idea of an adults-only event where artists can sell All their stuff rather than sticking to kid-friendly is a good one even if that's not going to affect my own stock at all. Shame it's the same weekend and in the same city as a big established con that I got wait-listed for which I'm still mad about because I Kinda Need The Money, but what can you do.)

I've got that con the weekend after next which means I've got until Monday night at the latest to get things finished if I want them with the print shop by Tuesday morning. Then I can work on the two extra Doctors and maybe some companions, because those will be badges and I make those myself. And that's as far in the future as it's worth thinking right now, let's just take this a couple of weeks at a time and maybe my brain will stop stalling over having too much to do and no way to narrow it down

Vampire Journals 2002

So about a week or so ago maybe more I watched the entire series of the Subspecies movies and then was reminded by our good friend Robert Hoffman that vampire journals is semi officially referred to as a spin-off mainly because it's directed by the same person for the same company in a similar location. So I dedicate this piece of pain to Robert Hoffman. I don't know if I missed anything in the film as it did tend to flake around with these much more prettier and softer vampires than Radu from the Subspecies films, so if they mentioned Radu at all I did not catch that. This is almost in a way full moon pictures version of Twilight with a soft vampire that wants to protect a girl from the rougher vampires who again are comparison to Radu or more just the horny pervy vampires with money. So for a lot of people today younger fans of vampires this film is probably fairly relatable. The people are very pretty the location is very nice I feel like it's possibly lit better than most of the sub species films was done after the third one so Ted Nicolau was able to learn a few new tricks but as sensual as this film is I will again emphasize on the word flaky. It's not without its merit though the characters all had some form of originality and interested me enough that I was hoping maybe I get to learn a little more about them but it does seem to just end on a sour note. It was probably set up to become its own series of films but never did. It's funny the romantic side of it isn't even what ruins it in fact it gives it more story but in general it is the softer safer some Subspecies. I decided to watch the version with William Shatner hosting the film thought that might ease my pain but good old bill has some seriously bad groaner puns that even Elvira would be embarrassed of them. Shatner is partnered with an alien bartender that doesn't speak in his wraparound spots. I just remembered there was a tv series called Vampire Diaries that was legit a teens vampire soap opera. There's no connection right..please tell me I don't have to watch that. Anyways I digress, that animatronic alien is so well done it's quite a bit better than any of the effects in the actual film. I'm sure the aliens head is from another character from a different Full Moon movie but I can't remember it if anyone does know please let me know. Maybe it is from the movie oblivion I remember liking that film and there's a few aliens in that movie however I'm far too tired as this pain-a-thon of Doom has had its toll on me I haven't eaten enough and I had to go back and forth to work and fit these in it was a bizarre challenging but entertaining day sure many of us watch bad movies all the time sometimes all day long thanks to you guys every time I do these we push the limit so it is different games played with my brain so thank you for that. 3: I've used the receipt from Barnes and Noble, old utility bills (already paid lol), random pieces of paper I've made notes on. It gets fun when I get busy and don't come back to the book for a while, because I forget the book has the notes I need that I'm tearing through the house looking for XD

50: ...Bath and Body Works body mists and lotions... A few years back I was going to take advantage of one of their sales before Christmas, I think it was something like Buy 2 Get 1 or Buy 3 Get 3... Anyway, I really love that scent "Magic in the Air" and was gutted to find out that they'd discontinued it. I went to pick up the bottle of lotion that I knew I had, determined to make it stretch... and forgot I'd bought a bottle of it the previous winter. Same with Sweet Pea.

87: Lord of the Rings - the extended editions. If you can sit through MCU movies you can make it through these.
