@markedpoint submitted: Been dealing with monarchs eating my milkweed to nothing and found one with much more black than and little to no white. Tempted to see if the butterfly will be as dark in color or not
Monarch caterpillars can be darker if the weather is cooler, presumably because the darker the caterpillar, the more heat they absorb from the sun.
They can also start to turn black and gooey due to something called black death that's actually one term for a bunch of different diseases. So if this one starts oozing liquid out its mouth and anus or starts to look deflated, it's diseased, but otherwise it's just a dark-colored caterpillar. I'm leaning toward the latter for this one.
As far as I know, adult coloration isn't affected by the caterpillar's color. I've never seen something like a dark morph adult.

Sex slave secretary
Take an oath on x month x day of xx
I couldn't help sighing when I read the contract. I really got lucky. This kind of wonderful woman is exactly the same as the twins written by Mr. Jin, which makes me curious about her next performance,'it's very well written, so what's next?' Xiaojun flushed red on his face. 'Junnu is ready, let's start now.' Of course, I was ready to see him perform. To be honest, I was still very looking forward to it. I could not help praising her for putting on V8 and taking off her clothes. I could not help but praise that she really understood my mind and was well prepared. I watched her kneel shyly on the ground, her hands pulled away from the vulva, revealing her hymen, and began to read the sexual slavery contract book in front of the camera. I thought it was over. I didn't expect her to read it again. .. The monarch and slave are still virgins to this day, the virgin of the monarch will be dedicated to the master, and the clitoris of the monarch and slave is even more than that of ordinary people. . Big, and then the sexy belt behind the ear, caudal vertebra, nipple, clitoris … And the anus.' When it comes to Junnu, his face is already flushed, his nipples stand tall, and his vulva is very moist, which is obviously emotional. And my penis has long been hard pain, almost can not help but ruin her performance. She took out several things from the bag, including a silver egg, a pair of earrings, a pair of flower-shaped ornaments, a large and a small butterfly-shaped ornament, and put on a pair of earrings with a thread attached to a small pendant glued behind her ears. she hung the flower-like ornaments of the Iraqi team on the nipples, and the hollowed-out center was just right for the nipples to pierce out and clip the small butterfly-shaped ornaments on the clitoris. The butterfly's wings happen to separate the muscles next to the clitoris, exposing the whole clitoris, while the lower edge of the wings happens to be completely merged. It looks as if the clitoris is in the middle of the butterfly's body, stuffing the silver egg into the anus. The last butterfly ornament is affixed to the caudal vertebra, much like a tattoo on the caudal vertebra. Junnu put a remote control in front of me and said, 'this is a gift from Junnu to the master. The sexy belt of the monarch and slave's whole body is controlled by the master.'
It turns out that those accessories can be controlled by remote control, and the five sexy belts suffer stimulation together. I think it's impossible for the pretty lady in front of me to stand up, right? Thinking that I wanted her to turn off the V8 and tell me how to use the remote control in my ear, I had just started the vibration of the earrings. Junnu's body immediately trembled violently and her whole body began to tremble. I didn't expect her to be so sensitive behind her ears. I still have work for her in the afternoon, and I can't bully her too badly. I had to whisper an order in his ear first,'I won't want your virgin yet. I will make you unable to bear it and ask me to help you open your bud. In addition, from today, your desk will move next to me. Your seat must be close to me so that I can play with you at any time, and I will leave you responsible for my daily life in the future. Now go do what you have to do.' The more I thought about her after she went out, the more I felt better. Nowadays, almost all women are gold diggers. It's not easy to meet someone who is very attractive to me. I can't play with her too badly. This kind of woman is something you can only encounter and never ask for.(2/2)

The most common and popular form of Vajrasattva is known as 'Solitary Universal Monarch." Vajrasattva is a popular purification practice and thus relied on heavily by all schools of Tibetan Buddhism, especially in relation to Ngondro or the preparatory practices to receiving advance teachings on Tantra. Each practice like that of Vajrasattva requires practitioners to engage in a retreat of 100,000 repetitions. In this case, it is Vajrasattva's mantra that is recited, complete with the necessary prayers, liturgies, and offerings.
Mantra:
OM BENZASATTO SAMAYA MANU PALAYA / BENZA SATTO TENO PATITA / DIDRO MAY BHAWA / SUTO KAYO MAY BHAWA / SUPO KAYO MAY BHAWA / ANU RAKTO MAY BHAWA / SARWA SIDDHI ME PAR YATSA / SARWA KARMA SUT TSA ME / TISHTAM SHRIYAM KURU HUM / HA HA HA HA HO / BHAGAWAN SARWA TATAGATA / BENZA MA MAY MUN TSA / BENZA BHAWA MAHA SAMAYA SATTO / AH HUM PHET

Tsofph Season 11(Chapter3 The beginning of the miracle)
Gilgamesh: This reminds us back then when I ran away from my duty.
Punch: You mean escape from your castle.....
Tsofph Season 11(Chapter1 Secret Truth of the Past)
Gilgamesh: We finally escape!
Punch: Don't you mean Anu Ziggurat?
Gilgamesh: That's the name of the present era, not the past era....uh... never mind...
Punch: Uh.....Pun---
Gilgamesh: Call me "Tsubasa" just to hide my true identity.
Punch: Are you sure about this.....I mean your father.....
Gilgamesh: He was possessed, right? If I still stay here in that city, I will make my people suffer again because of my tyranny.
Punch: But you didn't do anything wrong!
Gilgamesh: Even so, I fail as a King, okay?
Punch: Yeah.....after all...I came to rescue you.........Peter was waiting from the outside of Uruk. If we pass through that cliff, you will find the village where Peter and my friend, Enkidu waited.
Gilgamesh: Enkidu....?
Punch: You hadn't met him....wouldn't you......are we ready to go, Tsubasa?
Gilgamesh: Let's
During the trip
Gilgamesh: So..what's next for you?
Punch: A bit of bodyguard work.
Gilgamesh: Right.
Punch: After that, I will be back in your city if you must.
Gilgamesh: You mongrels know how to get that city even pass through my guards?
Punch: Yup.
Gilgamesh: So suspicious.
.
Punch: That cloth when I first met you...it was priest cloth......how did you get that?
Gilgamesh: My mother, she's also the priest.
Punch: You mean Nammu(Ninsun) is a goddess and Gilgamesh's mother. She is known for her wisdom. She provides her son support throughout his quests. She interprets dreams for him and petitions other gods for his safety.
Gilgamesh: She had a future vision like me. She's actually the primeval Sumerian mother goddess who gave birth to the gods and created humanity.
Punch: Wow....so your mother is the greatest god as ruler of Mesopotamia!
Gilgamesh: Say how's about Peter? I saw that he's become the legend of the knight of the Round Tables.
Punch: Peter's not like a normal knight. A knight is a person granted an honorary title of knighthood by a head of state or representative for service to the monarch, the church, or the country, especially in a military capacity. He's not like that.
Gilgamesh: The heroic tale of fighting with professional bad guys. Gotta love 'em!
Punch: Back to the question, so how are your father and mother? They're the ruler of this city where you lived right?
Gilgamesh: In the UK, a man awarded a nonhereditary title by the sovereign in recognition of merit or service and entitled to use the honorific “Sir” in front of his name!
Punch: ....................................forget it. After we find your father, I ask you again then.
Gilgamesh: Hmm? You mad?
.
Gilgamesh: As King Gilgamesh....I haven't traveled far from my city before.
Punch: Be surprised if you had.
Gilgamesh: It's honestly...kind of exciting.
Punch: I thought you had fun already as Sonic.
Gilgamesh: Well...first time and all.
.
*During across the river*
Gilgamesh: Wait! Give me a moment!
Punch: Oh.....be careful!
Gilgamesh: Don't just run off on your own! I still need to be careful with my hood clothing that made by myself!
Punch: Oh? Those are the words of a King who lives NEET in a palace?
Gilgamesh: Still so mean as always, you're so patty.
.
Gilgamesh: This vine looks kinda....rusty....
Punch: I'll go first. It's pretty easily torn. Be careful.
Gilgamesh: I know. I know. Woah!
Punch: The vine is so slippery! Are you sure you're not FAT?
Gilgamesh: I pretend I didn't hear that word from your mouth. Also don't worry about me. I'm not some sort of prince who needs to be rescued.
Punch: Uhh......your clumsiness.....
*The vine break*
Gilgamesh: You got to be kidding me....!
*Gilgamesh hurries jumps and Punch grabs his hands and pulls*
Gilgamesh: .........................don't tell anyone about this.
Punch: Hehe I won't.
Gilgamesh: You know....I can leave wherever I want.........but in the end, I couldn't.
Punch: Because of that.......
Gilgamesh: Too much poison and malevolence.......bursting with life...maybe more than I can handle. I think......
Punch: Your curse may affect this situation.....?
Gilgamesh: No. The curse did not live inside me yet. Say.....people hate to stay still but I don't. How could I be different?
Punch: I know that feeling so well.
Gilgamesh: All that passion.....all those dreams....flowing and blending together into something greater......
.
Gilgamesh: This time I'll go first. After all, I can't count on you to wait. You're too much hot head for waiting.
Punch: I'll take that as compliments. Uhh.......are you sure about this.....? I mean your clumsiness.....
Gilgamesh: See for yourself that I can balance on that log! Or maybe I'll go on ahead and leave you all by your lonesome. Woah!
Punch: Maybe you shouldn't talk.
Gilgamesh: Then talk. Tell me a story.
Punch: Nope.
Gilgamesh: You're a mean one. Woah!
Punch: I got you---
Gilgamesh: Gotcha!
Punch: You're killing me here!
Gilgamesh: This looks like a waterslide! Wee!!
Punch: Seriously?
.
Gilgamesh: Can you jump from the cliff?
Punch: I can!
Gilgamesh: Uh......your clumsiness.....Ah!
Punch: Woah!......Nice catch! This is so much fun!
Gilgamesh: Never a dull moment with you. Without you, the world wouldn't have fun.
Punch: That a compliment?
Gilgamesh: Heh......thanks anyway!
Tsofph Season 11(Chapter3 The beginning of the miracle)
Punch: Come to think of it. That time was so much fun.
Sonic: You gonna be okay? I mean.....
Gilgamesh: And if I say I wasn't?
Sonic: ........................leave a rest to us.
Gilgamesh: I know.
Punch: But what if something happens? I mean as Sonic said.....only two of us know that you're okay(exist) but no one could know you're okay.
Gilgamesh: Then I sent off some smoke then!
Sonic & Punch: (Jokes😅)
Gilgamesh: I'll put everything I've got into my prayers. I'll stop the army of darkness and you two stop the end of time by darkness. Kujaku can't handle this. He would end up being corrupt again. And I leave the rest to you. Good luck!
Punch: Punch! I will save this timeline and won't let myself die again. I promise I'll come back safely with my brother. Please trust me.....
Gilgamesh: You promise?
Punch: We promise.
.
Gilgamesh: "Goodbye"
.

October 14 & 15th 1586 saw the trial of Queen of Scots at Fotheringhay Castle in Northamptonshire.
Settle down, this is a wee bit longer than my normal posts, some state it started on 14th, but it concluded on the 15th, so here we are.
You might remember my post a month ago when Mary arrived at her last “prison”, the place where she would ultimately spend her last days and meet her end.
If the history books are to be believed. Mary Stuart first sighted the ancient castle towers from a path called since the “days of the Domesday Book”, Perryho Lane, on hearing the name Perryho, she is said to have made a melancholy little play on the name exclaiming aloud, ‘Perio! I perish.’ and indeed she did.
Mary was always a threat to the English Queen Elizabeth’s rule. Seen by Catholics as the true catholic ruler of England, there was many a plot to bump off Elizabeth and put Mary on the throne.
For almost 20 years Mary was dragged around England and locked up in its various castles. Having said that she was allowed certain freedoms including rides in the countryside and hunting trips, Fotheringhay was different.
Despite the size of the castle Mary found herself incarcerated in comparatively mean apartments: this brought back all her phobia of a secret killing, the sort of barbarous death that stained the history of English medieval castles. The most notorious being one Edward II son of Longshanks, “Hammer of the Scots” who some say was murdered at Berkeley Castle, Gloucestershire by being held down and having a red-hot poker inserted inside his anus, and his screams could be heard miles away. although most historians do question whether it is true or not, the fact is he was murdered.
When Mary’s servants reported that many of the state rooms had been left empty, Mary drew the correct conclusion that she was about to be tried, and the rooms were awaiting the arrival of dignitaries from London. Just after two weeks later on, October 1st she was informed by her keeper, Sir Amias Paulet that her misdeeds were now to be punished by the interrogation of certain lords, and advised her in her own interests to beg pardon and confess her faults.
Mary’s reply was that Paulet was behaving like a grownup with a small child, asking her to own up to what she had done. Then she went on more seriously: ‘As a sinner, I am truly conscious of having often offended my Creator, and I beg Him to forgive me, but as Queen and Sovereign, I am aware of no fault or offence for which I have to render account to anyone here below. …’ And she concluded loftily: ‘As therefore I could not offend, I do not wish for pardon; I do not seek, nor would I accept it from anyone living.’ For those who know anything about the Stewart monarchs this relates again to the Divine Right to rule, and they would only answer to God.
The charges against Mary were to do with a conspiracy to kill Elizabeth and replace her with Mary, her fellow conspirators included among others, John Ballard, a Jesuit priest, Weshman Thomas Morgan, a close confident of Mary’s, and Anthony Babington, a Catholic noble who is said was the ring leader, the plot has gone down in history bearing his name The Babington Plot.
Whilst locked away, Mary advised the plotters, both in terms of strategy and how to ensure she’d win the English throne. And naturally as the ‘rightful’ ruler of England Mary would be the one to sign off on the plot starting. he plot took shape during the summer in 1586.
Babington informed Mary that he represented a group who planned to kill Elizabeth and install Mary as the new Queen of England. Babington asked for her support of their plan. Mary responded, asking for more details.
Unfortunately for Mary, the plot had been infiltrated and Elizabeth I’s own spy master, Sir Francis Walsingham had been using the letters to entrap Mary and get her to call for Elizabeth’s murder.
Mary agreed with the plans, but did not authorized the assassination. That did not matter however, because Walsingham’s spies intercepted the letter. The letter was deciphered and copied but this time a postscript was added. According to the new letter, Mary authorized the assassination. Walsingham had his proof, and so with this false evidence Mary was indicted.
Before the trial even started Ballard, the Catholic priest, was arrested and tortured. It is said that by the time he arrived at his execution site, John Ballards limbs were barely in their sockets, as a result of the torture he’d undergone, of course during his torture he gave up the names of others involved, the main man being Babington, in September the men were executed one after the other and forced to watch as they, in turn were hung drawn and quartered, the same age old punishment for treason.
After the gruesome bloodbath attention turned to Mary.
Now I’m not saying Elizabeth was faultless in all this but she wasn’t keen on trying her Mary, not just because they were cousins, it would set a precedent trying and ultimately executing someone still seen as most of Europe as the rightful Queen of Scotland. Her hand was being forced by her advisors like Walsingham, indeed they had their eye on disposing of the troublesome Mary for some time forcing through an act of Parliament the year before called The Act of Association: this provided means whereby a commission of twenty-four peers and privy councillors might be appointed to investigate any conspiracy or attempt to hurt Elizabeth ‘by any person or with the privity of any person that shall or may pretend to the title to the Crown of this realm’.
The punishments for anyone found guilty under this act were to be two-fold: firstly they were to be deprived of their title to the English crown forever, and secondly they could be lawfully put to death under the provisions of the Act. It had been quite clear at the time that this Act had been especially framed in order get rid of our Queen, it was tailor made for her.
The records of Mary’s trial were compiled by the notes of those present, who included two persons designated as writers. It would have been nearly impossible to write by hand every word uttered in the courtroom. Some say Mary spoke very broken English due to her time spent in France., I myself find this hard to believe, yes she had been educated in France, but the Four Mary’s would have made sure the young Queen could speak the Scot’s tongue, at very least.
Mary’s defence was set out mainly that, she wasn’t an English subject and therefore couldn’t be held as an English traitor. She’d been denied legal counsel or the right to view evidence being bought against her. Oh and the age old she was a Queen. Anointed by God. It would literally be a sin to kill her.
Therefore, how accurately were the writers able to record her statements? Whose spoken words were left undocumented? Which statements in particular? Did the two journalists favour Mary or Elizabeth, and if so, did they allow this to influence their notes of the trial? A completely accurate record of the trial is unattainable due to the faultiness of its records, some historians just filled in the blanks to suit themselves, depending on their own leanings.
When the trial concluded, Parliament gave speeches and had open discussion about Mary’s sentencing. They also held audiences with Elizabeth. During the audiences held between Parliament and Elizabeth, Elizabeth gave two speeches. In her first speech, she declared that if it were not for “the safe and welfare of my whole people, I would (I protest unfeignedly) most willingly pardon her.” Elizabeth asserted that Mary was bound to the English laws but reaffirmed that the late act “was no ways prejudice to her.” Rather, Elizabeth explained that the law was in place to warn her, but since Mary still acted against the Queen and the law “was in force,” there was no reason not to “proceed against her according to the same.’ But, if the laws almost explicitly name Mary, then why did Elizabeth feel the need to restate that they were not prejudiced against her? Now I know I deflected some of the blame away from Elizabeth earlier but It seems that this was just another way for Elizabeth to maintain her image of innocence.
Furthermore, Elizabeth explained that because of "this last Act of Parliament” she must “order for her [Mary’s] death” The Councillors’ plan to somehow remove Mary as a threat had worked. Elizabeth felt her hands were tied in the matter due to the Acts of Parliament, which the Councillors had drafted with specific language aimed toward Mary.
Eventually, Mary’s sentence was issued and proclaimed in the English countryside and towns. Immediately following the proclamation, Walsingham drafted the warrant for Mary’s execution. The speed at which these documents were drafted show that Elizabeth’s Councillors were adamant about having Mary executed.
In late December of 1586, Elizabeth had the papers for the execution drawn up. On February 1st, 1587, she signed Mary’s death warrant.
I wont go into the execution as I normally post all the details on the anniversary of her death, February 8th 1587, I will however add a few more lines regarding King James VI and letters between Elizabeth and him.
Around the same time Elizabeth signed the warrant, she sent a letter to James, who had earlier requested that his mother be sent into the neutral custody of a foreign prince.
In her response, Elizabeth asked if James thought her “so mad to trust my own life in another’s hand and send it out of my own?
She also refers to the "absurdity of such an offer. In this letter, Elizabeth placed the focus on James’s offer rather than on the circumstances surrounding Mary at the present time, basically awaiting her fate. She did not say she was unwilling to give Mary to a neutral prince because she was either considering signing the execution warrant or had already done so.
Elizabeth withheld from James any more of a response than was necessary. It seemed that she intentional1y focused this letter’s content on James’s request to divert attention from her intention to sign Mary’s death warrant.
After Mary’s execution, Elizabeth wrote another letter to James. Elizabeth referred to Mary’s execution as a "miserable accident which (far contrary to my meaning) hath befallen”
Elizabeth claimed innocence in calling for Mary’s execution, but what she wrote next left a sense of doubt as to her innocence in the matter. She told James that she had “now sent this kinsman of mine … to instruct you truly of that which is too irksome for my pen to tell you.’d While one may infer that Elizabeth sent a kinsman to explain the actual happenings of Mary’s execution you have to wonder if that was truly the case. Could Elizabeth have sent this "kinsman” to explain what she would not want left documented on paper? Elizabeth would have known to not leave a self-incriminating paper trail regarding her true role in Mary’s execution. Thus, she sent a “kinsman” to explain the actual circumstances relating to Mary’s execution.
The truth behind what this kinsman actually told to James will forever stay a mystery because these words were just spoken in a private audience and not documented in a letter, just like Elizabeth wanted. The final question remains: was it the work of the Councillors that called for the execution of Mary, Queen of Scots, or did Elizabeth I play more active role than she wished to admit?
I myself believe the Councillors did not need to have their arms twisted to call for Mary’s execution. They perceived Mary as a threat and made it their top priority to remove her Queen Elizabeth’s full part in the murky affair will always be up for debate.
As ever I have used a lot of different sources when compiling this, if you want more on the trial check the article below out, remember though every source is different so not all that is written here will relate entirely to my post, it is however a more in depth analysis of the trial.

Since I still have the wikipedia page open, here's the nine largest animal phyla ranked from worst to best.
9. Arthropoda. Is anyone really surprised to see this here? The only nice thing anyone ever has to say about bugs is that our ecosystem depends on them, which is true for everything else on this list. Some will object that arthropoda contains more than just bugs, but I contend that instead everything else in the clade should also just be considered a bug, because they bug me. The best arthropods are the ones that eat smaller, more annoying arthropods. Like spiders, which eat insects, or crabs, which eat British monarchs. The really chill arthropods like trilobites are all long dead and nothing we've got today can ever live up to it. They were supposed to be the vessel for the perfect ontology but it all went wrong somewhere and no one is quite sure why.
8. Platyhelminthes. Flatworms. I don't have much of an opinion on them, but the fact that their name doesn't follow the usual phyla naming conventions implies something I don't like. They don't have an inside so there's no place for a soul to go. I'm already bored of them.
7. Porifera. Sponges. At some point a line had to be drawn and the philosophical question of what exactly *is* an animal had to be suppressed, and the line was drawn here. No matter how many pictures of sponges I see, I will always picture a kitchen sponge. I don't really think these should count as animals, but I also don't hate them, I can tolerate their existence. I feel about them the way my homophobic uncle who insists he's not homophobic feels about me: willing to be in the same room, but merely accepting his fate, not comfortable.
6. Nematoda. Roundworms. I always hated the episode of Spongebob Squarepants where they ate his house, but I've since learned that they are actually pretty important. I'm not really sure what they're important for, but the biologists I wasn't paying attention to seemed really excited about something. Also these are the main reason you need to take you cat to the vet other than to make your cat unable to make more cats. Which is a fitting but not too cruel or exacting revenge for everything else my cats put me through. I guess they get a C+.
5. Annelida. Segmented worms. Animal biology should be called wormology because animal biologists all love worms for some reason. If I was going to have to talk about something unrelated while pretending to talk about another kind of worms after this, I was probably going to give up on this post. Fortunately, we've already gotten to the best ones. Segmented worms are all of my friends that I used to dig up as a small child and play with because the other children didn't want to be friends with me for some reason. In high school, we learned how to do dissections in stamp collecting class using an earthworm and it was a very emotional experience for me.
4. Echinodermata. Common name? Nah. These are basically just all of the squishy mouth-anus toroids that live in the ocean and never figured out how to grow a backbone. They aren't very intelligent, but they're doing their own thing with symmetry and I respect that. A lot of scientists cut their arms off because the arms grow back and the scientists wanted to figure out how to make humans grow their arms back after they cut them off. That particular line of research appears not to have panned out. It looks funny when a sea cucumber poops, a gif of this lives in my head and can be summoned at will as a free action; I recommend cultivating this ability within yourself.
3. Chordata. Hey, that's me! And all the other vertebrates. It would be chauvinistic and delusional to rank the chordates as the highest creatures, so I didn't. I could talk a lot about different kinds of chordates and why they matter, but if you're talking about phyla you probably aren't talking about any of that because it's all very interesting and useful information that people mostly know already. e.g. I know what a zebra is. The only question about chordates is whether the best ones are the ones that always lived in the water or the ones that decided to go back. My vote is with the whales but there are a lot of sharks I know would be unhappy to hear me say that.
2. Cnidaria. Jellyfish. I really hope I don't have to justify this ranking above Chordates too strongly. Some of them are immortal. Many of them are poisonous. All of them are beautiful. I don't know why anyone would choose to be a human or some kind of bird or cactus when they could float in the ocean and just hang out for all eternity. All the capacity for higher brain function we developed was only to make up for what we lost in humble simplicity.
0. Mollusca. Giving these a mere positive integer ranking would be a grievous error. Our philosophers and psychologists have racked their brain trying to figure out the complexities of human consciousness, but it will all be for nought; we will one day be forced to concede that whatever and how many things "consciousness" really includes, our own pales in comparison to the dreams and aspirations of even the simplest bivalve. We will, too, in resignation, eventually abandon such childish notions as the persistence of the self in humans and dolphins as mere phantasms, but the sacred mind of the octopus will enclose us in its tentacles. These are the beloved, chosen vessels of the Demiurge, the craftsman that built this world and all of existence. Their prayers are the ones that are answered. Fried Calamari is an affront to the divine creation, we are but plodding, naive barbaric children battering ontological perfection in beer and bread crumbs for 6.95. Once we know, we will never forgive ourselves for our sins, though we will be forgiven. Lovecraft was on to far more than he knew, and this was not mere coincidence, but rather a protopsionic invocation of teleological fulfillment. Human society will one day, as Lovecraft predicted in his insolence, either find its true path in the veneration of the cephalopod, or, in guilt and shameful respect, retreat onto other planets to live out our own meager, inferior existence beyond the blessings of the solar winds.

Tes Iceberg Explained #2
Once again i’m not covering everything, particularly not bothering with things such as Black Books/Naked Nords which are a main focus within the games. And not everything is covered in extensive detail, many of these things i could cover more thoroughly, but that would make this post very, very long. CW for brief discussion of Sexual Assault
N'Gasta! Kvata! Kvakis!: A book with a secret meaning you can find
here: https://www.imperial-library.info/content/mystery-ngasta-kvata-kvakis
Nords were Giants: A theory that Giants and Nords share atmoran ancestors
The Last Dragonborn is Talos: A theory that the Last Dragonborn who is a potential Shezzarine like Talos, and shares a title with him
Mutara is symbolism for a penis: A lot of people joke that Mutara is symbolism for a penis and that’s it, but MK has stated it’s an anagram for Trauma revolving around the encounter with Molag Bal (original post deleted along with a lot of his reddit content)
Briar-Heart Lorkhan reenactment: the Reachmen sometimes will give a chosen warrior a Briar-Heart in place of their human heart to better harness magical energy and power, this theory connects it with Lorkhan’s heart being torn from his chest during his death
Titus Mede is Thalmor: Didn’t find much on this, but i feel it’s rather self-explanatory
The Trial of Vivec: An obscure MK text, TW for Rape if you go looking for it
Reavers from the North: A class of bandits on Solstheim
World-Eating/ The Aldudagga: An interesting obscure MK text discussing Alduin’s role as worldender. The text states that ‘the Leper Demon King’ and Lorkhan made a compact/bargain of some sort to prevent this. Lorkhan tries to hide under Red Mountain, but it’s already eaten by Alduin so he ends up stuck between/within Kalpas, essentially out of time. LDK states he and Lorkhan hoard parts of the old world and add them to the new, so that it takes Alduin longer to eat the world the next time. Alduin calls him a stupid little fucker (not relevant, but i wanted to have this on record) and curses him with the name Mehrunes Dagon, essentially forcing him to oblivion and cursing him to stay there until he destroys everything. It also attributes to part of Saarthal’s destruction to Mehrunes Dagon worshipers/Dagon himself, tells of a tale of a Flying Whale and a Dirtbird making a deal with Molag Bal and explains the tradition of Nord’s cow painting as offers for giants. Many folks consider this noncanonical, including some die-hard lore fans.
Abagarlas: A Molag Bal worshiping Ayleid city, in conflict with Meridia worshipping cities
The Tri-angled Truth: possibly the Psijic Endeavor, but also shown to be the worship of The True Tribunal and belief in Mundus as a trial ground made by Lorkhan. (The two statements may be connected by Boethiah, who preached the Psijic Endeavor to the Velothi)
The Ooze: A bosmeri term for the primordial chaos of early nirn before the Earthbones stabilized it.
Prophecy writing: This might be a reference to several things, possibly the actions of the ‘Hero’ in each Elder Scroll to fulfill the prophecy and make their will a reality, possibly the Ancestor Moth Cult and their role of recording the prophecies they see.
The Eleven forces: Laws of magic described by the Psijic order, also a term used to describe their council
The Halls of Colossus: An ancient site of ruins, possibly dedicated to the worship of dragons, as ESO shows. Tiber Septim may have kept the Numidium here and it may have had adverse effects on the surrounding region
Mantling: The concept of becoming so similar to another being, you literally become them/take up their power.
Tiber’s Purges: Destruction of cities and royal families that did not agree with Tiber Septims rule, using the Numidium
House Ra’athim and Mora: House Mora was a minor Dunmer/Chimer house with human ancestry, before fading away and being absorbed by House Hlaalu. House Ra’athim was a powerful clan of nobility within House Mora that ruled Ebonheart and were loyal to the King of Morrowind. The Ra’athim were said to be miners and owned an extensive amount of ebony mines. Nerevar was also said to be originally from House Mora.
Talos is Lorkhan: A theory that Talos mantled the place of Lorkhan within the pantheon of the Divines.
An-Xileel: An argonian faction of anti-colonists, probably based in Lilmonth
Tamriel Technological Degeneration: A theory that states the technology of Tamriel is slowly declining, primarily sourcing the existence of Dwemer tech. Sometimes associated with a theory that Tamriel is experiencing a decline in magic, citing the streamlining of skill trees in Morrowind and Oblivion into the one seen in Skyrim
Wulf: An avatar of Tiber Septim, seen in Morrowind
Mannimarco is not the King of Worms: The theory that the Mannimarco seen in Oblivion is not Mannimarco the God, but an imposter or the remnants of the mortal Mannimarco
Sunbirds: Altmer airships, possibly designed with the intent to reach Aetherius, may or may not have been successful. Sources are primarily unlicensed works or vague mentions
House Dres Vampires: Garan Marethi , Volikhar vampire, states he was tired of the politics of House Dres. A Game at Dinner recounts the poisoning of a spy at a banquet King Helseth held, notably the anonymous author was stated to be Dres and desired to be relieved of his title. Dhaunayne, mentioned as this spy’s master, appears in Morrowind as head of the Aundae vampire clan.
Arkved’s Void: The nightmare of the wizard Arkved, who stole Vaermina’s orb in Oblivion
The Book of Hours: A teaching by Vivec focusing on the Dragon Breaks, Middle Dawn and the Blue Star Mnemoli
The Dreamsleeve: This is a bit difficult to explain as there are two meanings often attributed to the word. The first meaning is the collective consciousness/dream of everyone in existence, and a method to transmit information from person to person via dreams/unconscious thought, this is the explanation present in canon. In things considered more dubiously canon, it is the process of life/death/rebirth.
Pyandonea is Aldmeris: The theory that the home of the sea elves is actually the ancient continent of Aldmeris
Emperor Zero: Discussed in previous post, TL;DR, a cult established by Tiber Septim to honor his predecessor paving the way for his conquering of Tamriel
Infinitely Large Planetoids: A reference to a text by MK discussing the cosmology of TES. The planets of Mundus are the Eight Divines/the bodies of them, they are also the planes of the gods. They appear as planets in the sky because mortal minds can’t comprehend their true form. They are infinite, but also surrounded by oblivion, so the mortal mind comprehends them as planets.
Kalpas: The cycle of birth/death/rebirth the universe/aurbis goes through.
Satakal: The Yokudan God of Everything, the universe, a fusion of Anu/Padomay. Like Alduin, he eats his own tail/is reborn (see kalpas above). The Yokudan pantheon is made up of Gods who learned to survive this cycle.
Summerset Isles is part of Thras: The thought that originally the Sload may have called the Summerset Isles home, or part of their home. Supported by the fact the oldest structures in the isles is made of coral.
Aldmeris never existed: The thought that the myth of Aldmeris is just a myth
Wayrest Secret painting message: Part of the main quest of Daggerfall, a way for the Agent to discover Daggerfall agents killed King Lysandus
Anumidi Models: A reference to Vehk’s Teaching, a text by MK that describes the Psijic Endeavor and it’s relationship to CHIM and the Tower. To summarize, the Anumidi models (Numidium and presumably lesser models such as centurions) are a metaphor/representation of the Tower (The universe when you tilt your head to the side, or an I)
Cybiades: An island off the coast of Sentinel, populated with Vampires.
Yokudan Sidestepping: The theory that the Yokudans/their pantheon come from an alternate timeline/the past, and avoided the destruction of Yokuda by stepping into the current timeline.
The Red Templars: Lore from the Redguard Fourms, MK describes them as ‘psycho-crusaders who drank the blood of Talos to get short-term martial shouting powers’ The rest of the legion largely disliked them.
Two Tiber theory: The Theory that Tiber Septim was in fact two people, Tiber Septim the general/Hjalti Early-Beard and Zurin Arctus. Making him both a Nord and Breton like ingame texts suggest.
Magika=Energy of Existence: I discuss this a few times on this blog. The simple theory that magic is energy/life force, the equivalent to the real world’s laws of thermodynamics. Supported by the fact that Meridia is said to be the lady of infinite energies and hates the undead who disrupt the natural flow of magic/energy
Dro’Zira: A Khajiit folk hero present at the Battle of Red Mountain, Wulfharth may have used his thu’um to turn him and other Khajiit into Senche. Said to have defended Wulfarth from Dumac Dwarfking, and killed the monarch. Later confined to the Shivering isles and rescued by Wulfharth.
Stars 3D Skydome: Presumably a reference to the fact that stars are holes between oblivion and aetherius and act as a sort of dome between Nirn and Aetherius
Blades Secret Bloodlines: Didn’t find much on this, my guess is it’s a reference to the theory that the blades kept the bloodlines of the Septim emperors a secret, and multiple bastard heirs may have been produced through generations.
Arden Sul: the first Duke of the Shivering Isles, Mania and Dementia have opposing beliefs on his life. Mania knows him as the Artificer Superior, a skilled craftsman who consumed large amounts of Greenmote, his revelers and/or himself may have consumed so much, their hearts exploded and ‘lifeblood flowed from their chests’. Extremists of Mania believe he is the true god of the Shivering isles. Dementia regards him as a Dark Deceiver, who fed poisoned wine to his allies, suspecting a traitor and killing everyone, reading their lifeblood for the traitor. When he couldn’t find it, he tore his heart out in distress. Extremists of Dementia regard him as the mortal aspect of Sheogorath. Both sides consider his soul to be beyond oblivion, ready to pounce at any moment.
From the Many-Headed Talos: Hemskir’s speech, another MK text. Describes Talos removing the jungle from Cyrodiil.
Hist Biological Supercomputers: Self explanatory, the theory that the hivemind of the hist is equivalent to a biological supercomputer (unrelated to tes, but this reminds me of the concept of plant intelligence, memory and perception)

Ancestor Work and Colonisation
From my own experience, it is a common belief among Thai citizens that Thailand has never been colonised. Many believe that due to the wisdom of the monarchy, our country has maneuvered ourselves in a way that allowed us to avoid the fate of many of our neighbors. And yet, if one look around Thailand as it is today, one has to be blind to not see the westernization that has occurred and is occurring.
Chaloemtiarana (2018) argues that, actually, Thailand has been subtly suffering from the effects of colonisation too.
The court believed Thai society should look modern/civilised to the West, so there would be no excuse for the West to colonise it. At the same time, it should learn about Western culture and language in order to understand better the people they had to deal with. This policy can either be seen as a pragmatic strategy of the weak, or as what others have called auto-colonialism, self-colonisation or crypto-colonialism. Coming to terms with Western culture by appropriating what is seen as helpful to national survival, Thailand did its best to maintain some control over its own affairs, and to find ways to maximise profit from trade.
Adopting Western clothing, architecture, music and artistic tastes may have made the Thai people appear more Western, and therefore ‘civilised’ (siwilai), but the core of Thai beliefs and character remained essentially unchanged. For example, Christianity never replaced Buddhism as the predominant religion. Nevertheless, adopting Western modernity had its drawbacks—the allure of modernity compromised and changed local social and ethical values. As survival strategy, the Thai ruling elite began to send their children to Europe to learn the ways of the West and therefore become more effective leaders who understood the West—not just speaking their language, but understanding their culture and mindset.
Without giving away too much of who I am, let’s just say that the trend of sending children abroad is common among my family. My mother met her Thai husband whilst studying abroad. My grandmother met her half-Danish and half-Thai husband whilst studying abroad. I assumed my great-grandfather met his Danish wife abroad too.
With the same mindset that prompted my parents and their parents to seek an education abroad, I was raised in an international school and studied undergrad in the UK. I do appreciate my western education, but at the same time, it was only last year in which I began reflecting on how horrendous my ability to read and write Thai is, how much I’ve lost touch with my own culture. A few months ago, I couldn’t even tell the difference between ค่ะ and คะ and it isn’t just me either- many of my internationalized friends faced the same troubles.
How are we supposed to not lose touch with our mother tongue when we were shamed and heavily discouraged to speak Thai during school time, including during breaks and lunches? How are we to know our own history when all we were taught about was the history of Britain and America?
Although Chaloemtiarana (2018) claims that the “influence of the West in Thailand was self-induced, not as a form of submission but as a weapon for resistance”, I still feel that the weapon was a double-edged blade.
In another text by Reynolds (2019), it was discussed how Thailand in an attempt to avoid colonialism, Thailand became a coloniser.
In the process of saving the country from Western colonialism, according to this critique, the Thai monarchs created a colonising state that subordinated smaller centres and brought them under Bangkok’s unitary rule: ‘Reform’, says Thongchai, ‘is merely a euphemism for Siam’s imperial conquests’ (Thongchai 2011: 30). And he is not alone in advancing the idea that Siam was a coloniser. Subject Siam, the title of Tamara Loos’s 2006 study of the Siamese court’s treatment of the southern Malay territories on both sides of the Siam–Malaya border, captures with clever wordplay the double identity of Siam as a subject of Western imperial will and as a subject active in its own expansion.
And not just Malay too. Thailand had “won” parts of Laos and Burma, and to this day, many Thais that I know still hold the racist attitude that Thailand is “better” than the less developed neighbor countries. This is incredibly relevant to me, as my ancestors on my paternal side is from Chiang Mai, known previously as Lanna, which was conquered by Siam (Bangkok, Thailand). This may have been why whenever I travel to Northern Thailand, I feel a deep sense of sorrow amid the beauteous scenery. The land was soaked with blood.
I have ancestors who are from Bangkok, and ancestors who are from Lanna, and ancestors who are from Europe. If I learnt anything from studying history and praying to my ancestors, it is that one must acknowledge the past. Don’t live a delusion, nor view the past through rose-colored lens. Acknowledge how much you have suffered, and also how much you’ve caused others to suffer. Understand and accept, and do better.

This is a long post, but I want to post something positive (hope for the future) instead of all the negative crap I’ve posted because.......negative crap surrounded us for 4+ years.
While the US Fish and Wildlife Service acknowledges that the iconic monarch butterfly, a major pollinator, should be designated as a threatened species, it has declined to do so, saying it has to focus limited resources on higher-priority species. Noah Greenwald, director of the endangered species program at the Center for Biological Diversity, however, is hopeful the monarch can gain necessary protection under Biden. Wikimedia Commons/Via Center for Biological Diversity.
The photogenic, badger-like American wolverine, known for its round ears and thick fur, is known to patrol up to 500 square miles of snowy territory in a relentless quest for its next meal, scaling mountains in minutes. Wolverines’ historic ranges include northern Eurasia and North America; however, government-sponsored eradication programs and habitat loss in the early 1900s nearly eliminated the animal from the Lower 48. Beginning in the 1960s, they started making their way back to Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. Now, an estimated 250 to 300 wolverines roam south of Canada—a stable population, though likely less than half the carrying capacity, or the number the environment can support. The species—which plays an important role in the ecosystem as predators that keep prey animal populations in check, furthering biodiversity—faces a range of threats, from loss of habitat to roads and other development, resource extraction, recreation, and, especially, climate change. Wolverines rely on deep snowpack lasting into May—a condition that, of course, will diminish as the planet warms. As far as climate-change-induced extinction goes, Greenwald describes the wolverine is a “real canary in the coal mine.” He adds, “We’re in court working to overturn the Trump admin’s refusal to grant them protections. If not, it’ll come down to the courts." Nigel Hoult/Via Center for Biological Diversity.
In October, the Trump administration finalized a controversial rule that removes ESA protections for all gray wolves in the lower 48 states, excepting Mexican gray wolves in Arizona and New Mexico. The move, long in the making, turns over management of this imperiled species to states and tribal governments. “We’re going to court, and we’re hopeful that both gray wolves and Mexican gray wolves will be able to expand further into their range in the southwest,” Greenwald reports. “We’re in the process with USFW of developing a new management and recovery plan for reintroduced species, and we’re hopeful it’ll be much easier to work with Biden’s [as yet unannounced] new head of agency. The current director used to work for Monsanto.” doublejwebers/flickr/via Center for Biological Diversity.
Yes, the ESA protects plants too! Advocates are proposing that the whitebark pine gain threatened status this year, due to its struggle under introduced disease and climate change. Noah Greenwald/Center for Biological Diversity.
The lesser prairie chicken, which calls the southern plains states of Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas home, has lost much habitat in recent years to agriculture and oil and gas development. (Its habitat overlays the Permian Basin, which has seen more oil and gas development in the past decade than anywhere else in the world.) They also don’t do well with the addition of utility poles in their stomping grounds, as they double as perches for predators. “We petitioned to add lesser prairie chickens to the endangered list in the late 1990s, and while they got put on the candidate list, during that delay is when the fracking boom started, so threats to its survival only increased,” Greenwald shares. “Eventually, it got listed as threatened, with a somewhat unfortunate conservation agreement that would let the oil and gas industry off the hook, but we’re challenging that decision in April, and we’re optimistic that the Biden administration will list them as endangered, or at least threatened.” USFWS/Via Center for Biological Diversity.
Several years back, male jaguars started moving up from Mexico, and have since been spotted roaming throughout the Southwest and the Grand Canyon. Trump’s border wall, however, threw a wrench into one of the biggest cat recoveries the New World had seen. The fact that Biden has said he’ll halt construction on the wall, however, gives Greenwald hope. “It would at least give jaguars a fighting chance.” Flickr Commons/Eric Kilby/Via Center for Biological Diversity.
The dunes sagebrush lizard, which calls southeast New Mexico and West Texas home, is threatened by oil and gas development on the Permian Basin as well as sand mining for fracking. Greenwald says this fetching reptile is due for another decision on listing next year. USFWS/Via Center for Biological Diversity.
The Trump administration downlisted this pretty, black-and-red American burying beetle—found in South Dakota, Oklahoma, the Sandhills of Nebraska, and, oddly enough, Rhode Island’s Block Island—from endangered to threatened, based on a petition from petroleum lobbyists. Greenwald calls the decision “completely nonsensical,” as threatened status allows some states to all but exempt a species from protection, say, by legalizing gas and oil development in its habitat. Which is what happened recently in Oklahoma. “It was a total handout to oil and gas at the expense of the beetle, which is actually one of the few insects that raise its young,” says Greenwald. Fascinatingly, it does as much by finding bird carcasses, exuding a mucousy fluid from its anus to cover said carcasses and laying eggs and raising young atop them. “It provides a vulture-like service, feasting off carcasses’ nutrients,” says Greenwald, who is in talks with various advocates about action to override industry’s “special exemption” regarding these beetles. Doug Backlund/South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks/Via Center for Biological Diversity.
There was some movement on the part of the Trump administration to delist the Florida Key deer, but luckily, it didn’t go anywhere. “Their numbers are up, but because they live in the Florida Keys, they’re likely to be underwater in the next 50 years if we don’t do something about GHGs,” says Greenwald. “It’s our smallest deer, so we’re hopeful that we’ll see enough climate action under Biden to give it a chance to survive.” USFWS/Via Center for Biological Diversity.
Coral species including staghorn (pictured) and elkhorn also occur in the Keys and have unfortunately been delisted since the aughts. “With ocean acidification from GHGs, coral in our reefs are disappearing quickly,” cautions Greenwald. “If we don’t get them back on the list, we’ll have lost a gorgeous world.” NOAA/Via Center for Biological Diversity.

I was wanting to write an Avatar the Last Airbender fanfiction and in one of the scenes, Azula (who has fire powers) will torture someone by using her powers to touch and burn them. She has a lot of control over her powers but I’m not sure how to pull it without killing the victim. I thought it could feel like touching something hot more than touching an actual flame.
(Firetorture 2) Would this seem high tech (if a lot of people in theuniverse have elemental powers) and would possibly too much liketorturers have a lot of control/skill? I also wanted to show Azula ashaving either Anti-social Personality Disorder or Borderline. Wouldit be problematic for a torturer to have a Personality Disorder(instead of only mental problems as a result of torture)? Azulaalready seems like she canonly has a personality disorder. Do youthink certain problems(3) like memory trouble would show updifferently in someone with a personality disorder? Lastly, wouldhaving other torturers who don’t have disorders before torturinghelp with avoiding the ‘mentally ill people are violent’ idea?Thank you for your help! If you have suggestions on how to avoidproblematic stuff, let me know. The torture is mostly out of hate butshe could ask questions and receive flippant answers/lies. I’llhave to see which the victims ends up doing when I write the scene.(Azula ask 4) I wanted to add, I’m also aware that Azula, at 14,isn’t able to be diagnosed with a personally disorder yet. She’llbe 21 in this AU story.
Ihave actually watched this show! Which helps an awful lot with thisparticular question because I think a lot of it is heavily rooted inboth the cultures the story created and the characters themselves.
I’llbe honest I know next to nothingabout personality disorders. So while I know Azula’s behaviour andpersonality I don’t feel I can say whether it fits with apersonality disorder. I can give you my opinion on using mentally illcharacters as torturers and my opinion on how being a torturer mighteffect someone who is already mentally ill (this would be an educatedguess as no studies on the subject exist, so far as I know).
Butlet’s start with the fire.
BecauseI know the setting I feel pretty confident that this isn’t hightech. It’s using an ability that a lot of people in this world arejust born with. Yes Azula is shown throughout the show as beingparticularly skilled with that ability but I don’t see any reasonwhy that means the torture scene itself should be written as‘skilled’.
Someonecan be an Olympic runner and trip over their own feet. Someone can bea martial artist and get into a drunken brawl.
Justbecause someone hasparticular skill with some sort of physical ability doesn’t meanthey’re using it all the time.
Ithink the key with this would probably be to highlight during thescene just how unskilled what Azula is doing is. She’s prettyarrogant so I think if the scene is from her perspective a good wayto do it would be highlighting how ‘easy’ this is compared to hernormal firebending. That these tricks are things she could do sinceshe was 5 (or similar).
Historicallysome burning tortures have used flames directly but using a heatedobject of some kind seems to have been more common globally. I’munsure if there’s a specific reason for that. It could be down topracticality (ie it’s probably easier to handle a heated piece ofmetal with tongs then it is to keep hold of a flaming piece of wood). It could also be down to cultural preference in some cases (ieEuropean historical branding tortures were partly about creating aphysical mark on the victim identifying their crime).
Iimagine the closest sensation to that whirling flame the canon showswould be steam or hot air.
Asfor how to do it without killing her victim- I think the main thingto worry about is how much of the body is burnt.
Theskin is an organ and like any other organ it can fail. Burns, especially deeper burns, to larger areas of the body are more likelyto be fatal.
Concentratingthe attacks to smaller areas is a good first step.
Thereare also areas of the body that are best avoided if you want thevictim character to (realistically) survive. The mouth, nose, neckand anus are the main ones. I don’t think anything directlyto/capable of blocking the urethra is a good idea. I’d also suggestavoiding concerted attacks on the scalp. And, as I said, keeping theoverall burnt area to a minimum.
Attackson other areas may not kill the character but have the potential tocause lasting disability. Which you may or may not want in yourstory. Burns to the hands and feet can rend them unusable. Burns onor too near the joints can restrict movement in that joint. Burns around the eyes can blind.
Thesetting also has a form of magical healing if I remember correctly. You may want to think about how that affects lasting injuries and howmuch of this could be treated in the setting.
I’dsuggesting keeping any individual burns smaller than the size of thevictim’s hand and keeping them spaced out. You may also want totake a look at the archive for ScriptMedic’s blog as she wrotequite a lot on burns and their treatment.
Asfor the way you’re planning to tackle Azula-
Ithink it’s important to remember that mental health problems can beco-morbid. Having one condition doesn’t necessarily protect someonefrom another.
Idon’t personally know anyone with a personality disorder but I doknow people with other forms of neurodiversity and some havedeveloped memory problems following traumatic events.
Ithink unless a condition directly effects memory it’s probablysafest to assume that memory problems would manifest the same way asin a neurotypical character. A neurodiverse character may reactto those problems differently but I think that’s a slightlydifferent subject.
ActuallyI think that’s probably the best way to think about ‘differences’in symptoms between neurotypical and neurodiverse characters:concentrate less on whether a character ‘could’ have particularsymptoms and more on whether they’d naturally respond to thosesymptoms differently.
Ifyou’re unsure of how a particular symptom would interact with acharacter’s preexisting mental health problems it might be best tochoose another symptom. Or do further research on the original mentalhealth problems the character has.
AndI think that leaves me with the question of mentally ill characterstorturing.
Ithink a lot of canons leave fanfic writers in a tough spot herebecause so many villains are either coded mentally ill or explicitlymentally ill. And the canon often links that to the bad things theydo.
Thatleaves fanfiction writers with a problem because writing away eitherthe villain’s bad actions or their mental illness is a huge changeto the character. It takes away from what they were and often rendersthem unrecognisable.
Iwould definitely encourage writers to stop creating so manycharacters like this but when it’s a character from another canonthat a writer is using- I think that’s a more difficult question.
Inthis particular case I think the fact Azula is in a rare position ofpower also contributes to the problem. Because regardless of othertorturers/baddies around her sheis the ring leader and the one in control. She has a greater degreeof responsibility because she is probably orderingothers to act as well as acting directly herself.
Sothis isn’t a mentally ill person committing a violent act underorders, she’s inciting and orchestrating the violence. Everythingis under her control.
Includingcharacters who were not mentally ill before they started torturingseems like a good step: it should help tie at least some of themental health problems these characters have to torture rather thanthe characters themselves. But this doesn’t really change thepotential implication that Azula is evil because she’s mentallyill.
Inan original story I’d suggest including ‘good’ characters withthe same mental illness. I’m not sure how much scope you have forthat here. If you have room for original characters to play a largepart in the story (or think that similar symptoms apply to one of theheroes) then I think that’s definitely a good idea to explore.
Thisis where knowing the source material comes in handy.
BecauseAzula is also the favoured aristocratic child of an absolute monarch.Azula’s environment hasactively contributed to her becoming the villain she is. Everybit of bad behaviour she displays in actively encouraged. Her bloodthirsty tendencies were taught.
Andon top of that the canon shows that her worst instincts areconstantly indulged, no one is allowed to say no to her. Even whenshe is obviously in the middle of a mental break down.
Showthat environment and how toxic it must have been. Emphasise it. Worklittle bits of it in throughout the story in as many ways as you can.
Showhow much she’s thrown when things don’t go her way (becauseobviously everyone follows her orders, they always have before). Showthe roots of her pettiness and violence, remind your readers of thepeople who encouraged and nurtured it. Show your readers that this isa woman who was taught from childhood that her value is in hercapacity for violence.
She’sreally hurt the enemy this time. Daddy will be so proud.
Mentallyill or not this is a big part of Azula’s motivation for violence. She has always previously met with approvalfrom the people who matter to her when she displayed violenttendencies. She has gone through her entire life being rewarded forbrutality. Of course she’s brutal.
Includingthat background in your story as clearly and as consistently as hermental illness should help give a more nuanced narrative. Lessmentally ill + BAD and more… a discussion of how environment and inborn factors can warp someone.
Weall have a capacity for violence and aggression. Most of us aren’tencouraged to act on it.
Showall the factors that went into creating Azula andthat should break the neat progression of mental illness to violence.
Ihope that helps. :)

rate your eu4 skills in terms of monarch skills, from 0/0/0 to 6/6/6. i'd say i'm like a 4/1/4.
In order:
Hmmmm... I don't particularly see it, but I'm always up for entwinning the personal and political in stories so, from that perspective yeah sure. If I see a fic like that I'll bite.
I've had a couple meme songs made for videos get stuck in my head, but I'm not a regular listener. My fav.

It goes admin/diplo/military, right? I'd consider myself perhaps a 4/4/2 at best. Perhaps 3/3/1 is a bit more realistic assessment of my abilities.

Temperate continental climate
Sofia has a temperate continental climate. Because of its comparatively high altitude, summer is moderately warm and autumn dry, warm and very pleasant. The mean temperature in Januaiy is —2.3° C and in June 20° C. Sofia lies on the same latitude as Dalmatia in Yugoslavia and Nice and Marseilles in France. As it is almost mid distance between the Black Sea and the Adriatic, between Belgrade and Tirana, between Athens and Istanbul, it is easy to see why the Slavs called it Sredets (centre). The central position has made Sofia an important junction, connecting for centuries East with West and the Adriatic and Central Europe with the Black Sea and the Aegean.
In ancient times Sofia was the centre of many thermal and mineral springs. In the town centre there are thermal mineral springs which probably played an important role in the settlement of ancient Thracian tribes in these parts. There are mineral springs with curative properties in the Ovcha Koupel, Gor- na Banya and Knyazhevo city districts daily tours istanbul, as well as in Pancharevo near Sofia.
Ancient settlements in Europe
Sofia is one of the most ancient settlements in Europe. Its history dates back 5,000 years, while the most recent archaeological excavations have yielded traces going back 7,000 years.
In the 8th-7th century B.C. the Thracian tribe Serdi settled here. They were later conquered by the Romans who gave it the name of Serdica (the town of the Serdi). Emperor 1 rayanus (98-117) expanded the settlement and named it Ulpia Serdica, and made it a town with an independent autonomous administration.
At the end of the 2nd century it was strongly fortified. In the fifth century the Balkans were overrun by the ‘ hordes of Attila the Hun who devastated the town. During the reign of the Byzantine Emperor Justinian (527-565) the town was rebuilt and surrounded by strong walls and towers. In 819 it was conquered by troops of the Bulgarian Khan Kroum and was incorporated into the Bulgarian state. It was given the Slav name of Sredets. In the llth-12th century it was conquered by the Byzantines who named it Triaditsa. Late in the 14th century the Bulgarian King, Ivan Shishman issued a deed of conveyance for the property of the Dragalevtsi monastery in which the town is referrecTto as Sofia for the first time.
The Ottoman troops besieged the strongly fortified town for quite some time but did not succeed in capturing it until 1382. They set up an administrative centre here from where they ran the affairs of almost all their European possessions. At the beginning of the 19th century Sofia began to decline. In January 1878, when the Russian General Gurko entered Sofia with his troops, the town numbered only 20,000 people. On 22 March 1879 the Constituent Assembly in Veliko Tumovo declared Sofia the capital of the newly liberated Bulgarian state.
It began to grow and in 1939 had a population of 300,000. Although Sofia was heavily bombarded in 1944, it continued to be an important centre of anti-nazi acitivity. Many anu-fascists killed in street battles with the police. On 26th August 1944 the Bulgarian Communist Party called on the people of Bulgaria to rise and overthrow the rule of the fascist monarch. The first nine days of September 1944 are the iiistoric days for modern Bulgaria.
Day One. The Soviet liberation troops reach the Romanian-Bulgarian frontier. A decree by the Bulgarian Communist Party is broadcast over the clandestine Hristo Botev Radio Station declaring that the eleventh hour for Bulgaria had struck.
Day Two. The country is without a government. Premier Bagryanov resigns and is replaced by Mouraviev who tries to buy time.
