ezio, altaïr’s biggest fanboy: yeah the isu died but honestly altaïr’s been through so much more. the hardships he's faced aren't even comparable to dying to the toba catastrophe. until the isu have done what altaïr has done, i don't feel sympathy.

"Educating the public. You're dumber than a pile of crap," the priwen man said, "You claim to know all about monsters and yet you don't even realise you're talking to two of them?!"

Antonio rolled his eyes behind his shades. While he wasn't about to disagree that he thought Ichabod was a bit daft, he could keep that to himself. What he didn't like was this man running his mouth.

"You!" the priwen guard aggressively jabbed his finger against Antonio's chest, "Are some freakish fae creature. You reek of otherworld energy."

"That's my cologne," Antonio said, smirking a bit when the guard seemed to be taken aback briefly.

"And you..." the guard trailed off, not even wanting to get close to Leofric but still trying to seem somewhat brave, "I don't know what you are, but you're some kind of monster!"

"Perhaps," Leofric replied, "But I do appreciate Mister Throgmorton vouching for us."

"Oh, you call me idling, huh?!" the guard demanded, before he then pulled out a what looked like a machete, not noticing that Antonio was reaching up to take off his shades, "How about I dispose of these fuckers right..."

But then he stopped, arms hung his sides. His eyes became glassy in just an instant.

"Don't look at him," Leofric warned Ichabod then, gesturing to Antonio, "We still don't know if he can accidentally ensure other people when using that ability..."

Antonio's eyes were glowing an unnatural green. In the irises, different shades of the colour were swirling together like mixing paint, but never truly blending, around vertical pupils. They even partially lit up the guard's skin.

"You are very much mistaken, aren't you my friend?" Antonio asked.

The guard seemed to struggle to find words, but when he finally spoke, it was like he was talking in his sleep.

"Yes, sir... I am very much mistaken..."

"I apologise that you had to see this," Leofric said, "It seemed more... peaceful than this having to turn into an argument or a fight."

{Ichabod clicked his tongue in annoyance at the Priwen Guard's words, his tone told him that the other was in no mood for any of his 'idle games' and 'chit-chat' as the Priwen had often put it.} "Pardon me, 'good sir'- {He spoke, rolling his eyes.} "-but just because your McCullum doesn't entertain educating the general public of both the dangers and hidden fascinations that lurk within the dark, that doesn't mean that I should do the same." {He gestured roughly, clearly annoyed.}

"Don't you have better matters to tend to then to stand idly? You know-" {Ichabod had a slight sly grin playing on the corners of his lips.} "Your leader could have your head for idling about.. go on and go do 'god's work'. {He waved a dismissive hand.}

{Ichabod didn't have time to deal with Priwen and their guards, he's just about had it with the faction. If the grunts weren't annoying, McCullum surely was.}

"I'll also have you know that these two gentlemen are far better behaved than your lot."

Summary

An innocent question from Muriel about Crowley's sketch of the Mona Lisa leads to an unexpected reaction from Aziraphale, and allows the angel and demon to talk about a past they do not share.

"Crowley?"

The demon, who was watering his plants, turned to Muriel and saw that they were standing in front of his precious sketch of Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa.

As he approached, Muriel turned to him and, pointing to the painting where the inscription read, "Al mio amico Antonio dal tuo amico Leo da V." they asked, "Were you really friends with Leonardo Da Vinci?"

Neither of them saw Aziraphale, who had stopped to put away a book in order to listen to Crowley's answer, for he himself knew nothing of the origin of this friendship.

He had seen the inscription "To my friend Anthony". But he had chosen to ignore it, or rather to ignore the odd feeling it aroused in him.  

Leonardo and Crowley sat across from each other over a drink, both quite intoxicated, but still lucid enough to talk.

Crowley looked around at all the sketches of the same woman, then pointed to one hanging on the wall and said, "That one, that's the best, even better than the finished painting. 

He pointed to the canvas on the easel.

Leonardo rested his head on his hand and replied, "I got her bloody smile right in the cartoons, but it went all over the place when I painted it. Her husband had a few things to say about it when he was in yesterday, but, like I told him, Signor del Giocondo, apart from you, who's ever going to see it?"

Crowley chuckled, "Well said! Leo, if it's all right with you, I'd like to buy this from you." 

The demon pointed to the sketch pinned to the wall and added, "I'll give you eleven florins for it."

Leonardo shook his head and said, "Antonio, canaglia! I want twenty!"

"Fifteen!"

Leonardo held out his hand and replied, " Deal. Now, explain this helicopter thingie again, win you?"

Crowley shook his hand and explained.

"Wow. And what was he like?"

Crowley replied with a gentle smile, "An interesting guy, much more open-minded than people of his generation, and way ahead of his time even before I told him a few secrets. The kind of person you don't forget."

Aziraphale briskly closed the book, causing Muriel and Crowley to turn at the noise. Then, pretending not to see them, he put the book down and returned to his desk, feigning concentration on a manuscript while seething inside.

He hadn't liked the look on Crowley's face when he had spoken of his "friend." He hadn't liked it at all.

Crowley and Muriel had continued to chat in front of the painting, but Aziraphale tried not to pay attention, and soon, lost in his thoughts, he didn't notice that Muriel had come out.

"Angel?"

Aziraphale tried not to show his distress as he turned to Crowley.

The demon continued, "Maggie asked me to give you this."

He showed him a plate with a slice of apple pie and continued, "She said she made it for you to thank you for your little arrangement. How about a little break with a cup of tea?"

Crowley was so thoughtful that Aziraphale felt even worse for being consumed by jealousy. He nodded and followed Crowley to the round table, avoiding looking at the painting as he passed.

He sat down at the table where Crowley had placed the plate and a steaming cup of tea. The demon sat down not far from him, a mug of coffee in his hands.

Aziraphale avoided his gaze and took a spoonful of cake. The cake was delicious, but given his state of mind, Aziraphale had to force himself to show his appreciation.

Crowley, not fooled, frowned and asked, "Angel, is something wrong?"

Aziraphale said hesitantly, "You never told me about your friendship with Leonardo Da Vinci."

"Oh, that? Well, you see, Angel, sometimes so much time passed between our meetings in the past that, amidst all we had to say and do, there wasn't room to cover it all. I had come to Florence for some temptations, but, as usual, the ingenuity of human beings in matters of sin surpassed me, and I found myself here with nothing to do. One evening, in a tavern, I made the acquaintance of his assistant, Salaï, who told me that I had the type of figure his master liked to draw, and dragged me to Leonardo's studio. And after that evening, when I bought the sketch of the Mona Lisa, we met again several times to drink and talk, he was much more enlightened than his contemporaries, clever and an excellent artist as well as a good drinking companion".

Aziraphale, growing increasingly annoyed, replied, "And besides, he knew your name was Anthony, or should I say Antonio."

He couldn't hide the bitterness in his voice and Crowley noticed and asked him bluntly, "Are you by any chance jealous, Angel?"

Aziraphale didn't answer and looked away.

"Angel?" insisted Crowley, who had moved closer.

He grabbed the Angel's chin, forcing him to turn his head toward him, and said softly, "Because if you are, you should know that you have no reason to be jealous. Leo was already involved with someone."

Azirapahel replied in a sulky voice, "But you liked his company."

Crowley replied in an amused tone, "For the reasons I told you. I even told him about you."

"Don't make fun of me, Crowley!"

The demon protested, "I'm not laughing at you. Just listen. The love of his life was his assistant, Salaï, which is ironically short for the Italian word "saladino," meaning "little devil." Which he was, by the way. He really had Leo wrapped around his little finger.”

"Leonardo, I'm going to have a few drinks with my friends, don't wait up for me tonight!"

Salaï blew him a kiss before closing the door behind him to the sound of the artist's light laughter.

Crowley turned to him and asked, "Is there a... special bond between you and this brat?"

Leonardo shook his head, "He's just my assistant."

Crowley raised an eyebrow and replied, "If he were just an assistant, you wouldn't have to specify, mio amico."

Leonardo took a sip of wine before replying quietly, "My past has taught me to keep those aspects of my life, private."

Crowley replied gently, "You need say no more."

Leonardo smiled and replied in a cheeky tone, "You know my biggest secret, tell me something about yourself, Antonio."

Crowley waited a few seconds before answering, also smiling, "There's this person, he's annoying at times, we're very different and don't often agree, but he's the only person I feel close to and have absolute trust in. We're a bit like two sides of the same coin, and it's only on the edge that we can meet."

"Then what are you doing here?"

"Huh?"

"Antonio, mio amico, what are you doing here with me? 

Crowley didn't answer and Leonardo continued, "La vita senza amore, non è affatto vita. A life without love is no life at all. It doesn't matter what kind of love it is, maybe you don't know, but if it's the only person you feel close to, that's who you should be with."

"You see, Angel, you have no reason to be jealous, he even sent me to you. He probably saw the nature of my feelings for you long before I did." 

Still holding the angel's chin between his fingers, he leaned over him and pressed a tender kiss to his lips. Then, pulling back a little, he continued, "You know, even when we haven't seen each other in centuries, you've always been in my thoughts. Especially since Job, there has been this other someone who went with his side as far as he could. Like me. Alone together, but aware of each other, so not quite so alone."

Aziraphale smiled and, placing his hand on the demon's cheek, said softly, "I'm sorry for my irrational jealousy. 

Crowley shook his head and, leaning into the angel's hand, replied gently, "There is nothing to forgive. If anything, it's rather flattering. But more seriously, it shows us that there is so much we don't know about each other."

"You're right, and after hearing what you just told me about him, I'm glad you had a friend like that."

This time it was Aziraphale who leaned in to give Crowley a gentle kiss, and when he pulled away, he had a cheeky grin on his face as he said, "And thanks to that, I can boast that I'm the owner of the only bookshop to have an authentic Da Vinci hanging on one of its walls."

They both laughed, then the angel picked up his spoon and resumed enjoying his slice of apple pie while the demon took a long sip of coffee.

Their unoccupied hands sought each other across the table, intertwining their fingers. 

They looked at each other, smiling knowingly, aware that they had cleared another small hurdle.

Just talking and listening.

Learning together.

I’m watching Gabe play Assassin’s Creed II on the big TV with Antonio and Diana. I think Diana was supposed to come to verbally berate me but now we’re all kind of just mesmerized by the AC gameplay.

I’m pretty sure Seb and Mystique have switched places. Hard to say, since they’re both stealing cookies from the counter.

Isabelle is currently dressing up Esperanza.

Selena is critiquing Carlos’ fit for the party in 2 days and making suggestions on how he can improve it. I do not think he asked.

Since we're on a Viking bent at the moment, how did they come to be badasses within popular culture?

This is an excellent question!

I think Western pop culture has a weakness for historical warrior cultures in general - there was a big fad for samurai starting in the 70s thanks to Kurosawa films becoming crossover hits, there was a big moment for Spartans after Zack Snyder's film in 2006, there was another one for Romans between the HBO show in 2005 and the Starz Spartacus shows in the early 2010s - for complicated cultural reasons that keep historians like Bret Devereaux busy.

Vikingers had been around as a thing in pop culture off and on for decades - there was The Vikings in 1958 with Kirk Douglas and or the 13th Warrior with Antonio Banderas in 1999 - but it tended to be hit-or-miss one-offs rather than a general pop cultural trend until relatively recently. Sustained interest in Vikingers really does kind of trace back to the huge success of the History Channel show which ran from 2013-2020 - which is funny, because originally it was a pretty naked attempt to find something that would tap into the Game of Thrones audience, for all that Hirst hates the comparison- which prompted others to tap into the same audience with Assassin's Creed: Valhalla and The Last Kingdom and God of War, and so on. It's rare that one show hits big enough to cause a trend, but I do think you have to hand it to them in this case.

So why did Vikingers hit so big?

Part of it is that they come pre-packaged with visual iconography (the dragon-ships, the distinctive helmets and shields and axes, the rather inaccurate hairstyles, etc.) and mythology (Norse mythology has the virtue of being decently well-known enough that people recognize who the gods are, but not well-known enough that people complain if you make shit up that wasn't in the Eddas), so a lot of the "branding" has already been done for the creators.

I think another big part of it is that Vikingers kind of act as a cultural Rorschach test that allows people to see what they want - you can go all the way along the spectrum from right-wing Neo-Nazis seeing them as Aryan supermen destroying Western decadence through the will to power to left-wingers thinking that the Vikingers were progressive because they were relatively gender-egalitarian and didn't like Christians very much.

And finally, I think that Vikingers have the benefit of being far enough back in history and niche enough a historical subject that it disarms a lot of people's critical faculties. Here's what I mean -thanks to decades of historical research and activism, more recent and prominent examples of slavery and/or colonialism no longer make for protagonist fodder in pop culture. There's a reason why Benioff and Weiss' "Confederates Win" tv show got canned before it started, and there's a reason why something like Zulu could not get made today (and that's a good thing). But just like the Spartans after 300, the Vikingers are seen as "ancient history" and because their oppression was visited on white people rather than POC, you can show them raiding Lindisfarne and colonizing a third of England (although you'll notice showrunners generally leave out the trans-continental slave trade) without anyone asking if this is problematic.

A third generation Peruvian immigrant, Joaquin Vidal has never known any home but London. Born and raised in Poplar (a notoriously impoverished area of the city) life was always going to be a struggle for his family - for stability, for money, for respect - but struggle they did. Joaquin’s grandparents went about things the old fashioned way, sacrificing every last shred of their dignity to scrape together enough money to take over the lease on the local newsagent after the previous owner passed away. They managed it, just barely, but even at the tail-end of the sixties, Poplar wasn’t the most tolerant of places, and the shopfront was regularly graffitied or worse.

By the time Joaquin was born, the Vidals had come to realise that London’s streets weren’t paved with gold, as they had hoped they would be when they arrived in England. They had their shop, true, but it wasn’t enough - the family was still living on top of each other, three generations packed into two rooms, living hand-to-mouth. His mother, Alejandra, was only sixteen when she discovered she was expecting, and a wedding was quickly organised in a desperate attempt to hang on to the precious little respectability the Vidals had garnered within their community. It was only two years before Joaquin's father vanished into the night, never to be seen again.

Joaquin was still young when he started looking for trouble (or when trouble started looking for him, as he’d always insist). He was a handsome, charismatic teenager, with a swagger in his step and an appetite for violence that only comes from feeling like you’ve got something to prove. It seemed as if he was destined for gang life from the get go, smoothly transitioning from playground bust-ups and brawling in the streets to the well-paid world of underground fighting. Joaquin was a workhorse in the ring, a surprisingly lithe figure that categorically refused to stay down, and it made him a hugely valuable commodity as a prize fighter. He would do whatever it took to win, and then some.

It was around this time that he set his sights on a woman known to the Jolly Rogers as Sweeney Todd. The former Crooked Hand, a man by the name of Alistair Winchester, had heard of Joaquin’s success on the underground fighting circuit, and was actively trying to recruit him to his cause. Sweeney was Alistair’s niece, and had been embroiled in the workings of the gang since she was very young, meaning she was already well established as a career assassin. Joaquin was drawn to her immediately - he knew they were made for each other.

As his relationship with Sweeney developed, Joaquin became as assimilated into the Jolly Roger lifestyle as she was, working his way up from pit fighter to contract killer in a matter of years. He would always prefer working with his hands (or, rather, his fists), but he learnt to wield a gun with precision and deadly force. As a rule, Joaquin and Sweeney were not supposed to work contracts together - they were both experts in their craft, but their dynamic was volatile and unpredictable, entirely inexplicable to anyone but themselves. People used to say that one day they’d either kill each other, or end up married - they chose the latter.

Realistically, it was never going to last between them - in fact, it’s some kind of miracle (or maybe a curse) that their marriage survived the eleven years it did. After one, final, explosive argument, the Vidals separated for good, but angry as they were, they couldn’t stay away from each other for long. Joaquin started taking contracts abroad, furthering his reputation with the Rogers while doing his best to forget about Sweeney. But he couldn’t, he couldn’t move on from her. He’s never been good at letting go.

When Alistair Winchester shit the bed and got himself nicked, it was only a matter of time before someone was called in to clean up his mess. Following the customary vote between senior members of the gang, Joaquin was compelled to return from his work overseas, not so much stepping into Alistair's shoes as kicking them out of his way. He never sought the title of the Crooked Hand, and his election came as a surprise, but who is he to spit in the face of democracy? If the Jolly Rogers wanted a show of force, Joaquin Vidal would be the one to give it to them.

He's been the head honcho for coming up on four years now, driving the Jolly Rogers into an era of prosperity that puts old man Winchester's legacy to shame. The treaty is starting to chafe at him, though, his patience for niceties running dangerously thin. No, he thinks its high time his people start making some more aggressive plays - show the Jabberwocks and everyone else who really runs the streets of London.

Before he was the Crooked Hand, Joaquin was known as Sykes, after the character from Oliver Twist. Not the most flattering of code names, but he’s never been much of a reader, and didn’t understand the connotations until much later on. 

Joaquin calls in on his mother approximately once every six months. They didn’t have the best of relationships after she remarried and started a new better family, but she’s old now, and the only surviving relative he’s still in touch with.

He's not usually much of a gambler, but he goes out of his way to attend the Royal Ascot every year, delighting both in betting on the horse races and terrorising the unfortunate toffs forced to share space with him for the duration of the event.

He’s a passionate West Ham supporter, and will thank you not to remind him how poorly they’ve been performing in the premiere league.

To date, Joaquin has never seen a cow in real life.

There isn’t a single event that could convince Joaquin to wear a tie. He didn’t even wear one to his wedding.

Happy 1 year anniversary to Gungrave G.O.R.E!

A lot of you are probably scratching your heads right now wondering what the hell this is. Well, let's just say that an obscure PS2 series made its return after almost 20 years of inactivity. And Gungrave G.O.R.E feels like it picks up right after 2004's Gungrave Overdose in all but graphics.

To briefly provide some context, Gungrave is a series of third-person shooter games and is the brainchild of Red Entertainment and Yasuhiro Nightow, creator of Trigun. The player assumes control of Beyond The Grave (Grave, for short), a corpse who has been resurrected to enact his revenge on the organization that had him killed and to destroy the drug that made all of this possible, Seed. Equipped with two hand cannons named Cerberus and a transforming coffin-shaped weapon named Death Hauler, the player engages in stylish gunplay inspired by the films of directors John Woo and Robert Rodriguez, with Grave himself bearing resemblance to Antonio Banderas's character El Mariachi from Desperado.

Despite the game seemingly being made on a rather small budget, Gungrave G.O.R.E features an alumni of legendary game producers, with Yasuhiro Nightow (Trigun) returning as image director, Ikumi Nakamura (Ghost of Tsushima) creating many of the character designs, Tetsuya Shibata (Devil May Cry) and Yoshino Aoki (Mega Man Battle Network) composing much of the soundtrack, and select cutscenes being animated by Digic Pictures (Assassin's Creed).

Gungrave G.O.R.E has had a rather unique development, being a console game developed by a South Korean studio, Iggymob. I encourage you to check out this video by Blue that goes a little bit into how Gungrave G.O.R.E came to be and why the fact that this is a Korean console game is more interesting than it may seem. They've included their sources in the description for further reading.

Looking at what director Kay Kim has had to say about Gungrave G.O.R.E's development, you can tell this was a game developed by the fans for the fans. When Gungrave G.O.R.E was first announced, it was slated to be an open-world game similar to Dark Souls. Later, taking influence from the likes of Metal Gear Rising, Bayonetta, and Devil May Cry, it was decided that the game would revert to its original linear mission-based structure. Kim has gone on record to say that the original open-world version of the game was "terrible" and expressed concern that this isn't what a Gungrave fan who has been waiting 20 years for another installment would want to play.

This is not something that a greedy businessman who bought the rights to a long-gone game series to cash in on nostalgia would ever care about. Gungrave G.O.R.E, whether it's a good game or a bad game, is a passion project before anything else. When this game first released last year, it was rough and naturally received patches over time. And these patches universally only heavily improved the game, such as making Grave's moveset more versatile, making the controls more accessible, and heavily altering levels to the point where some sections such as those that required Grave to platform were simply removed.

The game is in odd state at the moment. The original release on consoles and PC were published by Prime Matter, and earlier this year they released Gungrave G.O.R.E: Ultimate Enhanced Edition on the Nintendo Switch, which includes "over 100 changes" to the game including further improvements to the game's controls, further alterations to level design, new mechanics, and extra playable characters such as Gungrave Overdose's Rocketbilly Redcadillac, and Harry MacDowell. This is odd because not only are these magnitude of changes exclusive to U.E.E, which is only on Switch, Iggymob self-published this release.

I don't know what the future has in store for Gungrave or Studio Iggymob, but let us take today and every day after to celebrate that Gungrave G.O.R.E even happened because of them. Thank you for being the reason my new favorite game series made such a kick-ass return, and godspeed on future endeavors.

Malcom (Satan) growled in annoyance when he snapped out, "No! Your anger is the only thing that doesn't make any sense in this whole issue!"

Alya snapped back in anger, "What are you talking about?! How can me being angry NOT make any sense?!"

Malcom ran a hand through his hair when he stated, "Because there's no reason why You should be angry!" Before Alya could retort, the fiery redhead pointed at a surprised-looking Nino and then Kim when he snapped out, "They had a legitimate reason to be angry!" He waves his hands when he explains, "They gave you a specific deadline as to when they had to leave and wanted to leave no later than that! A deadline, that you agreed to! But you got mad at them for wanting to leave after keeping them at the event long after the deadline had passed! Their anger was in the right, while yours is just out of nowhere!" Malcom then pointed at a shocked Marinette when he stated, "Her anger is legitimate! She's fed up and upset with the majority of her supposed friends making plans and then bailing on her at the last minute when someone else gives them a call, yet you have been nothing but belligerent towards her!"

Karen (Ramiel) couldn't help but point out, "Mal is making a valid point." She shrugged her shoulders when she added, "While they are negative emotions, they are healthy responses to what has happened." She looked at the childhood friends when she stated, "So their emotions are normal for what happened." Karen then looked at the blogger when she said in a concerned tone, "You on the other hand... Seem to lash out at almost every interaction from what Mal and I have seen..."

Malcom folded his arms in annoyance when he scoffed out, "Which includes you leaping in my mouth when I asked legitimate questions."

Karen quickly corrected with a flat tone, "The phrase is "Jumping down your throat", Mal."

The fiery redhead huffed when he got out, "That too, Kare."

Malcome and Karen glanced at each other in uncertainty before the one with the pink-tinted glasses stated in confusion as she semi-pointed her left index finger towards the group of girls, "Uhh, I'm not sure if it's because we're recent additions to this class or something, but I'm seeing a rather clear pattern to... Those indences."

Malcolm folded his arms when he stated in annoyance, "Agreed... It's making me wonder How is it that None of you noticed that it has been happening?" He scoffed before adding, “This also explains why Marinette has been acting the way she is.”

Adrien: "Okay, can we agree that while it wasn't how we planned it..."

Marinette: "Yeah, no, it's got to be the weirdest way to find out someone's ID."

Plagg: "Well, at least it is a unique identity reveal. Hehe."

Tikki: "Not helping, Plagg..."

Markov reviewed the data before asking, "Max, are you positive this is accurate?"

Max nodded when he stated, "It is. I quadruple-checked it..." He bit his lips when he said, "But if this is true..." Max looked at the screen again before he picked up his phone and dialled the number on the screen. Markov hovered as both listened to the dial tone.

The sound of someone picking up the other side of the line was heard. "Hello? Who's calling?" The voice of an adult man came over the phone.

Max took a deep breath before he said, "Umm, hello, is this Mr Antonio Rossi?"

RobinRed: I can tell you that it’s still going to be confusing having both Jasons in the same space… I’m surprised that Blood kept his cool in that situation.

Assassin’s Creed: Wait, so this Demon Knight screen name isn't Bastard? What are you two talking about? Who's this other Jason? And what does it have to do with a demon?

Sebastian: I just noticed the chat and read what had happened. Right now, all I have to say is…

Batdad: Exactly!

Sebastian: Hmm, touche.

Batdad: I was also going to ask that.

Alix was passing back and forth in front of the park bench Kim and Max were sitting at while Markov hovered above. The skater then got out in an annoyed tone, "I don't get it, why would Lila say something like that when it isn't true?" She paused as she looked at her friends when she stated, "We know the real reason why our class is going to Gotham, but if Lila claims to be "super close" to the Wyanes as she claims, she should've known that too."

Kim couldn't help but point out, "And know why it should be kept a secret until the Gala." He paused before he questioned, "But wouldn't that implication be worse if Lila is saying that she asked one of the Wyanes to have our class and Ms Mendeleiev's class go to Gotham?"

Max was feeling self-conscious when he got out, "Well, that can only mean one of two things... Either Lila is telling the truth and the reason we're going to Gotham is because she asked for it to happen... And the letter I got was a prank or... Lila is lying about both knowing the Waynes and being the reason behind the trip..."

Markov was quick to say, "Considering that the letter has the watermark and seal from the Wyane Company, I can conclude that it is 100% authentic." He held his claw in the air when he stated in a logical tone, "Therefore, Lila is lying about a major event."

Alix clicked her tongue before she said, "If that's true, then why make us think that?"

Kim shrugged when he suggested, "Attention? Because that's the only thing I can think of." He then had a thought before he placed a hand on his chin when he commented, "Wait, now that I think about it..."

Adrien leans over and whispers to Chloe, "Uhh, do you have any idea what's going on here?"

Chloe whispers back, "No, I was kind of hoping you would."

Damian scoffs before he states in an annoyed tone, "They are not staying unless they can hold their own in a fight! I refuse to have any incompetent allies."

Cassandra: 😏

Miss Bustier ran a hand through her hair when she got out in a flabbergasted tone, "I know I heard Marinette during roll call before we got on the bus! And our students can testify to that!"

Ms Mendeleiev placed a hand on her chin when she mused thoughtfully, "True, we Heard Ms Dupain-Cheng call out "I'm here!" at every roll call, but I can't recall actually Seeing her during roll call." She let out a thoughtful hum before she said, "Let's do something a little differently next roll call."

With a smirk, she said, "Al'ight, Hawkmoth, I'll help you get those Miraculous. However, I'm doing things My way." With that, a black aura festered out of the Akumatized object and engulfed her.

Marinette held up her hand in a 'hold-on there' manner when she got out, "Whao! Wait a second! I just talked to them regarding what kind of baked goods they would like and they told me a very different story."

Nino raised a brow when he asked, "How different are we talking?"

Marinette folded her arms when she stated, "That the type of items that Alya told me to make sure to have are things that two of them can't eat."

Ivan raised a brow in concern when he asked, "Wait, that... Doesn't make any sense." He moved his hands a bit when he added, "If they can't eat those flavours then they wouldn't ask for them."

Marinette narrowed her eyes when she stated, "Oh, they would have to ask about it alright, but only to make sure they aren't used at all." She held back a growl when she nearly hissed out, "Especially since one of them is severely allergic to one of the items!���

"Wait?! WHAT!!!?"

That was when Marinette asked in a serious tone, "So this is where I have to ask, who told you about their "favourite flavours"? Because from my point of view, someone thought it would be funny to put someone in the hospital, or worse."

"Listen, I'm not bein' hypocritical or rude, but given that I can tell that Adrianne is not comfo’table when that Storyteller latches onto 'er at every interaction I've seen... It's kind of bad. So how the hell could all but a few of you NOT see that?"

"I'm a little more concerned about why Adrianne hasn't said or told anyone about the unwanted attention if it's that bad?"

"Or at least told her to stop or set up some boundaries."

Jason Blood smirked when he replied to the mental terrorist, "Oh, so you were after her! Guess that technically makes you a paedophile."

Hawkmoth: "WHAT?! No! I'm nothing of the sort!! I simply know that Ms Duapin-Cheng will be my greatest Akuma and will get me the Miraculous of the Back Cat and Ladybug!"

Jason let out a hum as he looked over the Akumatized item he used to catch the Akuma when he said almost casually, "So, that's what you've been waiting for, huh. I must say, you seem to have quite a lot of time to just sit around and wait for people to get emotionally distressed, especially teenagers, so I can't help but think that you don't have much of an active life."

Marinette couldn't help but be in awe at what she was witnessing. This man was... Taunting Hawkmoth... While he was in the middle of being possessed by the terrorist!

The rest of Miss Bustier's class came rushing over, also baffled and confused about what was going on as Marinette.

Jason kept that smirk with a short chuckle when he said, "Sorry, but I'm going to have to decline. I'm trying to avoid being involved with the Miraculous, and besides... Three's a crowd."

Satan got all flustered and nervous when he got out, "Oh! My dear sister! It's good to see you!" He did his best to recover his composer when he asked, "But why are you here?"

"SIr Raguel, we've got a bit of a problem."

"Adrien, boyo, yah're allowed ta want answer ta questions yah had fur a good while, even if yah no longer have a connection ta tha source of it."

Raguel tilts his head to the side when he asks, "Lord Satan, are you sure that you have the part of Young Adrien's soul that was agreed upon?"

Satan raises a brow at this as he shifts the box he is holding and says, "Of course I'm sure, I extracted it myself. You can ask the witnesses listed if you want to confirm." He paused before he asked the Angel of Justice, "Why do you think that I didn't have any part of Adrien's soul?"

Raguel replied in a slightly confused tone, "Because the aura coming from that box doesn't match Young Adrien."

Satan blinked in confusion when he asked, "I know it's Adrien's but... Why are you getting a different sense? And how does it feel?"

Raguel states in a calm tone, “I am not sure as to why it feels different from Young Adrien.” He then nods his head to Amelie when he adds, "But the bond you have in the box feels near-identical to that woman over there."

Marinette raised a brow at the question when she asked, "Why do you want to know that?"

Everyone flashed back to when Jazz kissed Officer Prowl on the lips before their final battle but knew they couldn't tell Marinette that that was the reason why they were asking.

Thankfully, Sabrina explained to the bluette, "Well, Mr Jazz did seem pretty affectionate towards Officer Prowl when we first met him, so I guess we couldn't help but wonder."

'Thank you, Sabrina!' the Miraculous Heroes thought with glee, now having a legitimate reason to be asking that question.

Marinette had an expression that read 'good point' before she finally said, "Oh, they're married to each other. In both the Magical aspects and the human way."

Nino was waving his free hand frantically when he almost shouted into the phone, "Uncle Al! Calm down! I can't understand you when you're talking that fast! What happened?"

Lila smirked when she said to herself, "I was right, this does look perfect on me~."

Jazz tapped the surface of the wood when he asked Gabriel Agreste, "Given that there was a time gap between when her symptoms started and when she went inta tha coma... How come yah never brought her ta any hospital or even called an ambulance?" He waved his other hand when he added, "All this could've been avoided if yah did either."

D hung up the phone and looked around at his work.

Everything was perfect.

Officer Prowl looked up worriedly at Jazz as he clutched his niece close to his chest and then said in an anxious tone, "Don't make me arrest you."

"Don't worry, it an't gunna happen," Jazz stated coldly.
