FOOTBALL-AND-FANFICS'S ANGST & HURT/COMFORT DECEMBER!

It will be angsty, it will be hurt/comfort-y, it will be slightly whumpy! 😁😏

The event will run from December 1st until December 24th, and will follow the prompts and schedule below.

So excited to share with you all my completely fabricated lore about the Oak-Garcias’ coworkers. High School Musical The Musical The Series.

Damn the title has a lot of words, redundant words lol. It may even rival some Light Novel Titles like "Is it Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon" or "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime" or "My Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom"

Anyway, long titles aside, i've got some thoughts about the TV series spin off of the High School Musical Movies, mostly about how they handled LGBT romances.

Why did they need the whole cheating angle for Big Red and Ashlyn for them to get with their endgame partners Antoine and Maddox respectively? It really ruined a lot of characters for that decision.

You'd think any of the main four of Gina, Ricky, Nini, and EJ would have the cheating as part of their storyline, they toed the line but it never really went there... I think.

The cheating storyline for Big Red and Ashlyn really ruined the both of them as characters, not to mention Seb and Carlos too.

Kostas is Apollo, God of sun. It's the feeling of being drenched in liquid gold as the warmth of the sun begins to radiate from the inside out, the sky tinged with oranges and pinks as the clouds get a copper hue.

Which then makes Darwin Artemis, Apollo's twin and Goddess of the hunt. It's the feeling of being the subject of their laser focus, the graceful lines of their body hardened as they get ready to strike.

Thiago is Hermes, God of communication and language. It's the feeling of being at home despite being thousands of miles away from the geographical location, it's blending in and adapting, building unlikely bridges.

Mats is Athena, Goddess of wisdom and intelligence. It's the sound of rustling pages, the smell of a new book mingling with old ones. But also the sound of long late night conversations about topics that are too personal to be discussed in the light of day.

Dusan is Dionysus, God of parties, chaos, ecstasy. It's the sound of laughter as another bottle of wine gets opened, the feeling of silk against your skin as your arms are being pulled higher, of whispered promises against the most intimate parts of your body.

Marcos is Aphrodite, Goddess of love, beauty, pleasure. It's the feeling of being wrapped up in linens, fingers clutching at both fabric and skin. It’s fleeting and beautiful and will leave you aching in more ways than one, but you wouldn’t change it for the world.

Fernando Torres is Demeter, the Goddess of growth and nourishment. It's the quiet confidence, the whispered praise, an unwavering belief in your abilities but also knowing he will there to catch you when you fall.

Andy Robertson is Ares, God of war. It's going in heart first, not worrying about the repercussions as you sow chaos and watch it burn.

James Milner is Hephaestus, God of blackmiths. It's being the backbone, fixing what was broken, ruling with an iron fist albeit fair.

Joe is Hestia, Goddess of hearth and home. It's throw blankets and hot drinks as the sun slips below the horizon. It's the safe port in the storm, seeking comfort in their arms.

Trent is Persephone, Queen of the underworld. It's bending expectations, breaking the mold they put you in and realising it is so much more fun to own your power and watch men crumble before your feet.

Antoine is Poseidon, God of the seas. It's realising you cannot be contained, water has to ebb and flow, allow for both calm and chaos. It's being allowed to both sparkle and glitter as the light hits you from different angles and being able to be everywhere all at once.

I'm gonna ramble about fic writing (while taking a break from actually writing, but I'm making progress this time! I promise! woohoo. knock on wood). ANYWAY, one of my favorite things to consider as far as characterization goes is self-awareness. Because there's so many different ways and degrees to which a protagonist can be self-aware, and I just LOVE seeing how characters shift (not necessarily 'grow') over the timeline of a story. I love thinking about where a specific character would choose willful ignorance, where they would choose to come to terms with a harsh reality, where they would be entirely oblivious, where they're NOT oblivious but can't even verbalize it in their own internal monologue... chef's kiss. My favorite stuff to write
