Okay, so this isn’t really an anti-Steroline post, but I’m tagging it as that anyway because even though I don’t see it that way, I have a feeling some super Steroline fans would see it that way. But I just have to say something. Also, it will be under the cut, and I’ve warned you that it’s coming up. I take no responsibility for things you might be offended by.

First, I want to say that it’s not so much that I don’t like Steroline, it’s just that it doesn’t feel right for me. It’s just because it feels like Stefan’s second choice, like she felt like Matt’s rebound. I did like Caroline and Matt better than Steroline, though. But I just feel like Caroline is better than being the backup. I don’t think Stefan actively thinks about her in that way, but it feels like that’s the way it is. And it’s not because I ship Stefan only with Elena - I don’t. I love Stelena but I like Delena too. I like Stefan and Katherine. I like Stefan and Lexi. So yeah, there’s that.

So I think I’m one of the few people who really hope that Stefan was serious when he tried to break up with Caroline. I love Caroline with Tyler and Ric (I know not a lot of people liked them, but I thought they were great and I was really sad when Caroline just left him for Stefan when he came back). I don’t want Caroline to take the cure. She is so much better off (she even says it - “Oddly I’m better off”) as a vampire. and Stefan wasn’t able to really control his bloodlust. He kept going from one extreme to the other. He needs to be human. And he needs to be with a human. Not necessarily Elena, but someone who he can actually have a life with.

It's funny when you think about it. One of the many many reasons Haylijah is hated is because Hayley was married to jackson and the only way for her to be with Elijah was if Jack died, and i've seen many people on the kc fandom acusing Hayley/haylijah for that. And here we are after the tvd finale having sc fandom acusing kc for the same reason (wich is hypocritical cause many steroliners also ship HE)

Do u think that the writers ever seriously considered giving Bamon the green light? Or was ALL of that build up deliberate baiting to try to keep the show afloat w/o their leading lady? I just saw an old quote from Kevin Williamson and JP basically saying that if Nina could’ve come back for an entire season instead 1 ep, SE would’ve been endgame. Makes you wonder where Damon would’ve ended up in that narrative. I’m not the biggest elena or SE fan, but I think maybe s8 would’ve been better if that were the case. It would’ve been enough time for DE to rise,crash and burn one last time. And then make peace with it. Want to move on to healthier options *cough cough bonnie and stefan*. Seems like they always planned to give SC a crappy ending and send her to TO anyways so that solves that.  Am I being delusional thinking that may have been a vague plan in some writers room before they knew what ND’s schedule was? S7 BD was definitely building towards…something for a minute there. Seem’s like they set up a foundation so it wouldn’t seem abrupt if they went that route in s8. Like they made it an option for themselves just in case. It doesn’t matter now but its a nice theory to toy with. Then again I favor any theory that ends with Bonnie and Damon snogging so maybe im biased.

[Nisha note: We share that bias, haha. But yeah, I agree with a lot of your thoughts here. Honestly, it seemed that JP et al were prepared to have the series go on indefinitely without Nina, if Paul and Ian were willing to keep working for her, also indefinitely. Bonnie/Damon would have been an inevitability in that case, imo, and like you said, I think that’s why they laid the foundation that they did. And then when they started to realize that season 8 would be the last, they locked in on their endgames and threw that foundation by the wayside. The follow-through on BD’s s7 arc was dropped from the season 7 finale and instead shoved into an afterthought scene in 8x10, and that was that. That’s my speculation anyway… and the real point I’m getting at is that the story didn’t really matter to them, beyond the logistics of how long they could feasibly milk it. BD might have happened eventually, but at this point I’m frankly fine that they didn’t get the chance to really delve into it and most likely ruin it. Fanon rules, canon drools, etc. LOL. My Thoughts on Stefan/Caroline

Okay so I might not be a fan of Klaus/Caroline but one thing that Stefan will never be able to do is love Caroline the way Klaus does. You don't even need to be an expert to see that it's a GIVEN FACT. People may say Klaus/Caroline is forced on Caroline's part because she was never "in love with him" but I have to disagree. The connection between Klaus/Caroline was always there whether they were laughing, fighting, or just simply staring at each other. You can see how passionate Klaus feels towards Caroline with just ONE LOOK in his eyes. Yes Caroline does also feel something for Klaus but their relationship wasn't fully explored because Klaus is in the Originals. With Stefan you NEVER feel that passion or love he supposedly has towards Caroline. I have ONLY seen him look like that at Elena. Stefan and Caroline may have known each other longer but ask yourself really how well does Stefan really know Caroline personality wise and deep inside? How much of a connection do they have? Sure Stefan helped her through her transition and a few other times but it doesn't mean they have a deeper romantic connection. Klaus understands Caroline down to her core not the person she pretends to be for someone else. The phone call proves it seeing as he gave her parenting advice and was able to calm her down. Do you honestly think Stefan would have been able to do that? For Stefan Elena and Damon Always comes first no matter what. Even when Klaus and Caroline aren't together in the same room and with other people Klaus puts Caroline first. For Klaus just hearing how sad and worried Caroline was enough for him to save Stefan and that is not the only time where he puts her first. The reason why Stefan/Caroline is not real to me is because it's honestly just bad writing. If Elena chose Stefan then there would be no Stefan/Caroline together. It feels like the writers ran out of couples and they did not want Stefan to be alone so they were like "hey let's have him get together with Caroline." People might also say Caroline had "feelings" for Stefan day one but they forget it was back in Caroline's insecure human days when she liked any guy that would give her the time of day. In the phone call scene you can see the emotions that Caroline has been feeling for the longest time. Only Klaus has brought that side out of her. You can see she clearly wanted to keep talking to him. Klaus respects Caroline and her decisions and he just gets her from all aspects. He just sees Caroline for how beautiful she is. Stefan has not even come close to that. ONLY WITH ELENA. What happened to the Stefan that was Caroline's BEST FRIEND? The one that made Caroline smile in her times of need (Season 2 through most of 5). Not the Stefan who acts like a jerk and the WORST boyfriend ever to Caroline (Season 6-7) that DITCHED her in her times of need (season 6) with no intention of even coming back. What happened to the Stefan that respected Elena and her decisions? The Stefan that even though he loves Elena he RESPECTED her choices and SAVED MATT over Elena (Season 4). The one that was able to give Elena up to Damon but still be supportive towards their relationship. That was the REAL STEFAN. So you tell me when did he treat Caroline better than he treated Elena?

Hahaha, well, I’m glad that you like my rants. I kind of like them, too. (And thank you for once again proving how awesome KC shippers are.) And SC seems to be headed down that road: forced together against everything that screams “keep them apart ffs!”, awkward scenes, no chemistry, started out with emotional blackmail and severe manipulation, terrible reviews and dito ratings, it has Dullena written all over it!

I don't ship Forwood past Season 5 either but it would forever be my favorite TVD ship. Bamon is the only thing I ship still on TVD. I'm neither here nor there with Steroline, I loved their potential but their no humanity phase kinda made me go like "nah".

Yea, I stopped shipping Forwood in S4 actually but they used to be my 2nd OTP on the show next to Bamon. I don’t ship SC, never have, I was pretty indifferent to it and and then almost shipped it in the episode where Caroline had to kill Tom to save Stefan but it didn’t pull me in and then I found myself disliking both Stefan and Caroline more and more, then S6 turned me off of the ship and I doubt if I’ll ever really like it tbh, but we’ll see.

Bamon is literally the only ship I care about on this show though. I can take or leave everything else at this point.

I love how Steroline fans and Klaroline fans always arguing on whose ship is ‘better’ 'healthier’ LOL GTFO both your ships are toxic as fuck and no one should ever want a relationship like that! Stefan and Caroline have always had a brother sister vibe, Stefan Will NEVER chose Caroline over Elena EVER! They were so forced this season it’s ridiculous and it completely ruined both Stefan and Carolines Characters! Caroline even stated that she hates the way Steroline has made her feel! A relationship should never do that! Klaroline is just abusive that it worries me why so many people ship it?!? Caroline hates him! She was constantly involved in plots to kill him and his family members, she and her friends threw a heres-to-A-Klaus-free-life-party when they were planning to drop his body in the ocean forever. He Got Tyler to bite her using the sire bond and then tried to play the hero in that 'romantic’ scene where he healed her aww! He stabed her with a lamp and Bit her and made her lie in horrible pain for Hours! He tried to trick her into having sex with him while in Tylers body. Everytime she talks to him to use him or distract him! Yes they have chemistry but other than that they would never work and anyone who finds that romantic… I think you need help… Caroline is NOT going to New Orleans LMAO with Elena gone they need her now more than ever not mention it would be so forced for her to randomly move to New Orleans to be with a man she hates! Klaus has feelings for Cami now, he has a child that is 1000x more important to him than some blood girl he stuck his dick into up against a tree in the woods! Caroline had to fuck his ass just to get him to leave her alone. So yes I hate both these ships and I hate that they ruined Forwood and Stelena for this Crap!! 😠 Stercest is happening and that makes me ill and Klaroline is OVER stop harassing the writers over it they have hinted many times that its over! Just shut up already!

This show is cleary suffering and has been for quite some time so I don't understand why nothing is being done to fix it! I am so sick of Dullena (sorry if you disagree) they are so toxic and the whole relationship is mostly about sex! I love the idea of Steroline but I really hate they way they were written this season (it felt like Stefan was gulit tripped into liking her) I miss Klaroline! and I want Kai and Katherine back! 😭
