Thanks for the tacan you give the glimpse to Kanisha Christine and how she did and wonder how she play in the dramatic and comedy

I don't know if I would consider Kanisha's Christine to be a comedic one. The few humorous moments Christine does have, Kanisha didn't go for it. She's definitely a more serious Christine

I've been giving a lot of thought to Kanisha's Christine and I do stand by the Emilie comparison. I'd classify both of them as 'Cinnamon Roll' Christines; they are both so adorable and cute. It really drives home how young this version of Christine is and how traumatizing it must have been to lose her father.

As such, there is an element to Kanisha's portrayal which is about emotional growth. It's not so much that her Christine goes from naive and innocent to mature and world-weary, but more like learning that people contain multitudes and are complicated. I guess what I mean to say, is that Kanisha's Christine developed a more nuanced understanding of the world around her? Her early scenes (Think of Me, Angel of Music), they are uncomplicated. Her Christine is happy to be performing! She earnestly believes that the angel of music is giving her voice lessons, why would her father lie to her? When she learns that the Angel of Music is really nothing but a man, this throws her entire worldview out of balance.

I do think this is why Kanisha's Christine gravitates towards Raoul. He represents an uncomplicated and happy time in her childhood. She's drawn to him because she thinks that he can protect her. But, despite herself, Kanisha's Christine is drawn to the Phantom (it would not surprise me if Kanisha was an E/C shipper. I'm 80% sure Kanisha was looking towards the phantom the entire time as the boat glided away in the final lair).

Wishing is Kanisha's best song (and I would consider that song to be the emotional crux of her portrayal). It emphasizes that this moment is a turning point for Christine.

That being said, this was only Kanisha's second performance as Christine, so she's a lot less comfortable in adding details and expanding upon the standard blocking like say, Elizabeth Welch would. Experience and performance opportunities will only strengthen her portrayal.
