Perrin Mle 1855 -1st Type- presentation revolver

Designed and manufactured in Paris, France by Louis Perrin. Double-action only revolver due to a spurless hammer, chambered for the early centerfire round 11mm Perrin. This specific piece was highly embellished with embossing, gold foil, an ebony grip reminiscent of antique firelock pistols and an extended barrel flaring at the tip like a cannon. It was made to be presented at the 1855 World Fair or Exposition Universelle in Paris to Napoléon the IIIrd, emperor of the French.
