clarke is a fucking dumbass during her alliance with mccreary but not nearly as aggravating and self-righteous as kane about it (she waited till season 6 to stumble as she tried to get up that high horse lol), so I find her more forgivable xDD

I’m finishing up a long delayed (re)watch of of s5 - and ya’ll.
My Octavia love is ratcheting up higher than ever. What an absolute brilliant babe she is. I am well prepped now for my viewing of 7.02!
My opinion of Kane - which I had thought could go no lower, is sinking further even though I of course knew everything, but watching the final eps I have to ask again ...why is he such a terrible judge of character AND an incompetent boob all at once? I am so happy to watch someone get their face eaten off by a cannibal. What a stinking little weasel of a man he turned out to be - or really - always was. That silky silky dad beard was SUCH an effective disguise.
Abby - actually - I’m kind really into Paige’s work this season. Abby is terrifying, but like, in a powerful and kind of impressive way. I mean. She does terrible terrible things. But really well.
Echo is wonderful, Spacekru is wonderful.
Why it’s snowing in some places and raining in others and was so hot everyone was in tee shirts “six days ago” is one of those ‘seasons? what seasons fuck rational passage of time’ elements of JR’s story telling that we just have to ignore. I know this but I can’t help seeing it. I mean. It’s right there. On the screen and everything.

awesomenell65 replied to your post “lol remember when i liked kane”
For like ten minutes in s3. He was a complete tool before and after that. But even worse ? Completely incompetent. But somehow- no one cares. Gah.
I kinda liked when he was fully a dick early on in the series. Now he’s a self righteous dick who’s convinced he's not a dick which is 1000x worse.

Some of my thoughts from 6x09
Thank God Kane is finally dead. Like yeah his death was sad and he went out like s2-4 Kane deserved but I'll never get over him being the villain in s5 not helping Octavia, letting her be manipulated by Abby and gaia to be who they wanted and do what they wouldn't take responsibility for, and then blaming her for all of it and acting as if she was a monster for keeping her people alive. So I'm glad we're finally done with that, if only he could've taken Abby with him.
Related to that, at least Abby admitted to Kane dying because of her mistakes instead of trying to blame it on Octavia again.
Also, I feel like the "make sure we deserve to survive" popping back up in this episode where Abby literally murdered someone to save her dead boyfriend even though he didn't want it, while Octavia learns that "it's not about deserve" in the same episode was a real dig at Abby's do-anything-i-want-and-excuse-it-as-moral-superiority philosophy. Literally in that goodbye scene when they said deserve I responded with "it's not about deserve"
Which is one thing that I am glad the writers are finally and accurately acknowledging that a redemption arc isn't deserved--if it is then it's completely unnecessary-- it's about what you do to earn redemption. I was upset at the "forgiveness is for minor offenses, you murdered people" argument because Bellamy and Clarke literally trade off on forgiving each other for genocide, but whatever.
I was disappointed in the Octavia v. Blodreina showdown-- I really actually enjoyed and appreciated the Pike/Lincoln bits, it was all they could do since they couldn't get ricky-- but the actual fight was kinda meh and I don't really like that she killed Blodreina and also that the dichotomy presented was "Bellamy's sister" or Blodreina. It would've been so much more powerful if she had actually refused to fight/kill Blodreina, accepting her as part of herself while condemning her actions, and asserting that she is neither and both Bellamy's sister and Blodreina. She is Octavia, a person unto herself, not defined by either her relationship to a man nor her darkest deeds.
Another thing that is really bothering me is the complete dismissal of Raven's grayness. This season they keep trying to sell the story that Raven has never done anything wrong in her life ever. I literally scoffed at kane saying "you've always known what's right" because um, what about when she tortured Lincoln? What about when she first wanted to sacrifice Murphy to the grounders to save Finn, then wanted Clarke to assassinate Lexa to save Finn (and start a war which they 100% would've lost) when she KNEW he was guilty of massacring children and elders? What about the time she took the chip? What about the time she refused to give medicine to the dying flokru (I still agree with her on this that it would've been pointless, but from a compassion standpoint it was cruel)? What about all those times she facilitated or approved of Clarke's massacres/genocides? I'm just really tired of the show trying to make Raven seem innocent or the moral authority because she never has been and I love her for how complex she is and they're trying to remove that from her.
And lastly WHERE IS DIYOZA I NEED HER BACK

that literally never happened cause let's be honest abby gridding floated her own husband and put her daughter in solitary
Remember when Abby Griffin wasn’t a bitch that would kill a random person for Marcus ‘who floated her husband and put her daughter in solitary’ Kane??? My drunk ass does and I’m regretful.

I acknowledge I have a very blasé attitude regarding the necessity of survival cannibalism (if you gotta, you gotta, man), and I don't discount that the dark year as it is would be incredibly traumatic for wonkru at large, and octavia in particular, due to the specific circumstances at play (these weren't people who died by accident, like the ones in "the society of snow", for example).
that said, I had built up the idea of ~the dark year~ in my head so much that a part of me will always thing "... that's all?" lol. back when the season was airing I had all this vague theories about octavia being forced to implement rules about population and reproductive control that would mirror those of the ark, eventually landing in a situation that would remind her of her mother, for example. something personal and close to heart that would really, really fuck her up.
so on first watch, the flashbacks were a bit of a low point in the episode, thought that's not an issue on rewatch. the episode really does a good job of showcasing everyone's perspectives* and how it all ominously builds together into the final battle.
*this does not mean all those perspectives are created equally, and thankfully I don't think the show's attempting to say that lmao. I remember this was the episode that made me loathe kane. yes, clarke contributed to the mess by allying with mccreary and warning him of wonkru's intentions, and her actions during this season are explicitly self-centered, myopic, and unwise, but this is BY FAR the most self-aware clarke has ever been of her own hypocrisy (her expression when she tries to argue against what octavia did in the dark year as if she doesn't deeply get it...). meanwhile, kane was wrapping himself in self-righteousness and calling octavia the devil ffs. his death didn't come soon enough, if you ask me.
#then s6 comes and we're all pretending 1.) it wasn't clarke and kane who fucked up the world (let's solely blame octavia!)#2.) that clarke was Making Hard Choices For The Good of The People#instead of selfish choices for one (1) person#which i suspect people would've found easier to defend if clarke hadn't been physically abusive to madi#like. i actually remember that before 5x12 people's defense WAS ''but her daughter!!!!''#and then she goes and electrocutes madi asldñkfj#and suddenly we have to pretend that people were mad about clarke pulling something like#idk. god complex (where she was willing to sacrifice and be cruel to the few for the potential good of the many)#and hon. those are not the same. they are in fact opposites!!#but i disgress#talking to the void#my thoughts#t100 thoughts#the 100#the 100 5x11#octavia blake#clarke griffin#stacked100#antimarcuskane for ts

octavia has done some amazing things during the show but dragging kane so hard that he slipped back into a comma so I, personally, could be spared his presence, and then simply stared down at him, refused to help, and prematurely (but correctly lol) pronounced him dead? KING SHIT.

never has a christ symbolism moment felt as empty to me as when they put marcus kane on the cross. sorry but this man lacks the insane energy it takes to pull off that messiah crap. try harder.
#octavia crossing the desert (both times) easily topped this. EASILY#stacked100#talking to the void#my thoughts#t100 thoughts#the 100#the 100 3x13#antimarcuskane for ts#honestly he's lacking in ANY kind of energy#i acknowledge i'm biased because i'm very indifferent to his character *as* a character#but literally every other scene partner he has hits harder and makes the whole thing worse for him

I am baffled by the amount of people who completely disregard Kane’s actions.
He has a great beard. I am absolutely prepared to acknowledge this. Hand to heart. He has the sexiest dad beard in the whole seven seasons. Full, soft, clean...the man looked absolutely fantastic once he grew that beard. *chef’s kiss*
I’m not even kidding. That beard was excellent camouflage. How could a man who could grow such an utterly awesome & hot dad beard be so completely useless at his one actual job - head of security/Arkadia guards/the last of the people of the ark? Surely such a soothing beard meant he was actually good at doing the work?
Pfft. No. His legion of errors of judgment and action are too many to list. At least at the end he rebelled at the idea of becoming a prime. He drew the line there. No body theft granted immortality. Good for him.

A theory: Kane’s unbearableness has a direct correlation to his beardedness.

starboybellamy replied to your post: Clarke is going to be angrier at Abby over...
“Kane is selfish enough to enjoy the benefits of what Abby did for him while still holding it over her head” BITCH YES
I have no filter anymore. It’s losing me followers but I cannot be bothered to give a single fuck about him. It’s just not realistic.

Clarke is going to be angrier at Abby over Not!Kane than N!Kane, y/n?
I think so...either way I am waaaaaaay more interested in her response to the situation that N!Kane. She was in the position that Kane’s host was, more or less. Clarke’s done some fucked up shit obviously too but bodysnatching is next level fucked up. And I think Kane is selfish enough to enjoy the benefits of what Abby did for him while still holding it over her head that it was extremely wrong. That’s kind of his jam...
Anyway, I hope they actually have Clarke confront her over it because otherwise what was the point of having both those storylines? Idk if it’ll happen this season though because we are starting to run out of time and there is so much ground left to cover. We’ll see!
