It's state in the manga that sasuke's nature is fire and he can use lighting nature too, there's nothing about sasuke has wind or water nature nor he used it in the manga

while when I stopped watching Naruto during shippuden I was not a fan of Sakura at the time (I was close to a anti sakura fan as I recall), extended storylines like Retsuden just makes me feel Naruto somehow got more convoluted and worse for character regression as it keeps going. It's like they are trying to build up, but Naruto and it's character's foundations from part 1 have been crushed so much that it's turned to dust. Characters haven't been built up they have been replaced by new versions that fit the needs, and this feels even more true for the female characters of Naruto. Sakura being the main girl of Naruto's squad, just has her suffer more then others. Taking away her strengths to let Sasuke be a white knight, and to also let the SasuSaku shippers feel there's a connection between them because it was non existent aside from the fact Sakura had a kid with Sasuke during a timeskip post end of shippudem and that is not the empowering move they think it is.😓 Sakura could have been a character to rival Kakashi, considering she's got not god eyes or god chakra, but we all have heard it before and the whys.

Is it me? Or the author of Retsuden never really thought about Sakura's strength considering this is a Shounen Anime.

Let us have a reminder here Sakura stans hype the fight with Sasori.

You can see this is teen Sakura and she was still standing healing herself even before Chiyo injected medicine to her.

Sasori is an Akatsuki member with a very dangerous poison and he's a protoge in puppetry.

She was also stabbed by Madara.

She regenerated quickly. Of course we already know who Madara is.

Then in Sasuke Retsuden we have this.

She didn't even sensed he was about to stab her, I thought she's a sensory Ninja of objects in this novel?

She collapsed after being stabbed by a kunai just from a guy named Jiji. The author seems more focused on the lovey dovey parts and seemed to not read the manga. Some Sakura stans don't care. They just want to be a self insert and have Sakura what they want.

Call me crazy, but Jun Esaka just confirmed the SK authenticity by making the main villain look like Karin in a man's body.

I didn't know Karin was that much of a threat to the whole SS the romance shipping community.

Also, from the way I see things, Sasuke is MISERABLE with Sakura as his "wife" and no amount of Retsuden can change my mind on that fact.

I had to look up who Jun Esaka was because I haven't read Sasuke's novels except one. But wow. It is crazy that the author of the non-canon material is doing stuff like that.

Karin was unfortunately neglected in order to give Team 7 more relevance when she could shine as her own person. I have no idea how is she being written in Boruto, but since novels are also getting their manga and anime adaptations, I have very little hope.

She is a good character who deserved better treatment from both Sasuke and Koshimoto, Boruto writer, and the novel writers.

I have always marveled at the fan following of the love interests of the main characters, because as characters they're not that interesting, let alone be relevant enough to have other characters' arcs be undone in their favor.

I sympathise with Karin a lot. It just makes me want to write her more and more in my fics (even though my stories aren't ship-focused).

Sasuke fans on Twitter are wild. They really hate Sakura & ship him with Karin or whatever other girl in the show but when Sakura multishippers that are not even SS fans ship Sakura with another men they get so pissed about it. They keep talking about how Sakura fans see Sasuke as an object but they do the same shit with Sakura because Naruto liked her. Like, they keep saying that Sakura don't deserve Sasuke and Sarada when canon Sakura is such an amazing and loyal mom and wife. Sakura should have ended up single at this point because they keep erasing Sakura from Sasuke and Sarada life. They are not even grateful for her sacrifice as a mother. They act exactly like the sasunarus and narusaku fans that they just hate as much too. They don't want Sakura with Sasuke but they also think that she don't belong with anyone else. They hate this girl so much to the point they think that Sasuke should beat her or abuse her. They want her to be miserable. Also the hate they have for Retsuden is another whole issue. Thank god that canon Sasuke will never be like those called Sasuke fans wanting him to be. Sasuke would never harm his wife or cheat on her. Thats the only think that keeps me sane from being in this fandom.

I really don't see why an anti SS Sasuke fan would care about who Sakura is shipped with. Although now that I'm thinking about it, if they're also anti Sakura, then they probably would indeed just bash whatever ship Sakura is involved in because she'll never be good enough for the other character in those people's eyes.

Another rant about Sakura and the popularity poll

I have to admit that I was the first surprised to see Sakura coming third in the last popularity vote result. I was expecting her to be at least top 15, and would have been more than happy to see her top 10, so yeah, seeing her in third place was a bit of a shock.

Since the beginning of this popularity poll, I have tried to stay as far away as possible from all the scandals related to the cheating going on in the fandom right now. Firstly, because, let's be honest, most (if not every) fandom has been using bots or cheating techniques to vote several times a day for their favorite character. And secondly, because it is written black on white on the poll's website that all fraudulent votes will not be taken into account, so clearly, whether there is cheating or not, we shouldn't even care that some dumbasses aren't following the rules.

Nevertheless, I still keep coming across many posts insulting accusing the same fandom of ruining the experience of this poll because of their cheating and I have to admit that it's starting to slightly irritate me.

The anime community has always been hypocritical when it comes to the treatment of certain characters and their community. We're not going to change them now, but I'm getting tired of the harassment and hatred that a lot of Sakura stans are getting on a daily basis because they don't share the same taste on a fictional character as others.

Of course, the Sakura community is far from being innocent. But I think it wouldn't hurt for some people to put a little water in their wine when it comes to calling an entire community a "cancer on society" or "mentally retarded" because you've seen screenshots of a couple of randoms claiming to have voted 30,000 times a day for Sakura. (And not to be that person, but anyone who believes that you can vote that amount of time in one day is probably not the sharpest knife in the drawer...)

But let's be honest for a sec. What bothers most of these people isn't the cheating going on in the fandom, otherwise they would be denouncing all the fandoms doing this and not just this particular one. No, what really bothers them is that they have convinced themselves for so many years that Sakura was such an unlikable character, that they can't handle the fact that actually, she is, and has always been highly appreciated by the community. When I see some people saying that Sakura wouldn't even be top 20 without the cheating when in all the official popularity polls there have been she has always been in the top 14, It makes me laugh a little. It really shows how the internet has totally blinded a part of the community to believe that Sakura was hated by everyone.

Has the character of Sakura been undergoing a huge wave of hatred for decades? Yes.

Is the Sakura fandom one of the biggest and most invested in the Naruto community? Also, yes.

And I think a lot of people tend to forget that. Especially the ones who aren't Naruto fans but still jump on the anti-Sakura wagon train whenever they can because hating Sakura has kind of been one of the anime community favorite's private joke for years. But yeah, all this to say that it's not that surprising to see Sakura ranking that high in this poll, especially with all the content we've been having from her for the past few months.

With the manga and anime adaptation of Sasuke Retsuden, a lot of people seem to be rediscovering her character in a more positive light. Her merch is always sold out and anytime there is a little official content of her, the fans go wild. Let's not forget all the fan projects that are organized for her. If there is one thing that cannot be taken away from her fans, it's their investment in the fandom.

They showed it very well during this popularity vote by collaborating with artists and other fandoms to motivate people to vote. Moreover, they are the few who didn't fall into the trap of "the winner of the poll will gets their own manga" thing.

While a part of the fandom has been voting for undeveloped characters and therefore not necessarily the favorites of the majority, another part has decided to vote for one character in order to counter the votes of the Sakura stans, and as a result, are not even voting for their favorite character.

So yes, the results of this poll will not be representative of the opinion of the fandom. But it won't be the fault of Sakura's fandom as some people like to say. It will be because some people have either misunderstood the instructions of this poll (which clearly says to vote for your favorite character) and/or are so blinded by their hatred for a 2D character that they would rather see a character that they don't necessarily appreciate win the poll instead of her.

Honestly I don't care if Sakura comes first, third or ninth. But this poll has shown once again how rotten the community is and how they won't take any responsibility for their mistakes and blame everything on the Sakura stans. As usual.

OTPs and NOTPs have less to do with the ships and more to do with the characters

(Disclaimer: I’m speaking in extremely general terms and there are exceptions amongst ships/shippers. I’m also not trying to devalue or insult ships, or claim that one ship/shipper is somehow better than another. This post is meant to be an observation, not a judgement.)

I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that, at least amongst the most popular ships in the Naruto fandom, many ships have very little to do with the dynamics between two characters and more to do with one character getting their “happily ever after.” This is most apparent when you pay less attention to what a shipper is saying and more to how they’re saying it. A lot of ships are described using character-centric language.

(Disclaimer: I’m not saying don’t listen to what’s being said ever, otherwise you’ll never understand their thought process, I’m just saying that you can learn just as much about a ship by listening to the language used.)

SasuSaku is a Sakura-centric ship where Sakura gets the man she wants while simultaneously winning against all the other girls fighting for his hand. This is why in the retsuden Sasuke is so out of character and is sometimes referred to as “whipped for Sakura” by fans.

NaruHina is a Hinata-centric ship where Hinata marries the man she’s pined after for so long. This is why the last focuses on Hinata so much and Naruto is treated as an incredibly dense knight in shining armor.

NaruSaku is a ship that goes either way approximately 60-40. Naruto-centric shippers want Naruto to anchieve every dream he’s ever had and Sakura-centric shippers want Sakura to settle down with the person who’s been so dedicated to her. (I say either instead of both because I very rarely find shippers that vocalize the benefits for both parties.) This is (one of the reasons) why so many NaruSaku fans were surprised that it didn’t become canon; they think that Naruto’s wants weren’t prioritized or that Sakura’s character arc is incomplete.

SasuNaruSasu I’ve also seen go either way but it is largely a Naruto-centric ship where Naruto saves the man he spent so much time chasing after. This is (one of the reasons) why SNS fans think that the ship would’ve been canon if it were straight.

(I could go on, but that would take a while and I’m sure you’re smart enough to figure the rest out or do your own research.)

Why does the Naruto fandom often use the words “deserve” and “earn” despite that not being how relationships work? This is why. Why is one character more frequently used as a self-insert than others? This is why.

This is also where a lot of NOTPs stem from. There are a lot reasons why people don’t ship something or viscerally hate a ship, and this is one of the big ones. “Anti-” shippers often don’t like a certain character and don’t like any ships that favor that character, and they certainly don’t like any ships that favor that character over their favorite. This is why many Sasuke fans hate SasuSaku and SNS. This is why many Naruto fans don’t care for NaruHina. NaruSaku again is a slight exception in the way that some “anti-” shippers hate Sakura and don’t want Naruto with her or hate Naruto and want Sakura with someone else.

This is why I have personally blacklisted many anti-[enter ship here] tags. They’re full of character bashing.

Once again, this is meant to be writing out a general pattern I’ve observed. It’s not meant to be against any ships and I’m sorry if it comes across that way. This might just be me saying what everyone else already knows, but I’ve already typed it and I’m not going back.

Jun Esaka the writer of Sasuke Retsuden publicly had to post and pleaded with fans and anti fans I guess to stop harassing her.

It's a specially troubling knowing she had to do this during down time right after she her her child and specifically recieved a death threat to her baby.

Obviously no one cares that people are getting worse as fucking bullies.

This is really sad. Why have a blog dedicated to how not canon Sasuke retsuden is just so you can use that same content you hate to hate on a pairing you don't like? Sorry to burst your bubble but there are so many layers and reasons as to why people like certain things and everyone is entitled to their own opinions and perceptions. I don't agree with some antis just like I don't agree with all sasusaku fans and their interpretations of certain things. Regardless everyone is allowed to enjoy things as they wish. If you dislike Sasuke and Sakura together that's all fine and dandy. But why not focus on the pairings you like instead of flashing negative content and generalizations about a specific pair or fandom? If you can't even bring yourself to do that then at least learn the proper Tumblr etiquette and tag your stuff correctly.

Hey, hope you're doing well! I just discovered your blog and you are literally a blessing to this abandoned fandom. Honestly, you're one of the few to tell it like it is without exaggerating or softening the facts and that's REALLY refreshing. Although I cannot say that I agree with all of your points of view, they are nevertheless all relevant and sobering. I left this fandom 5 years ago, recently came back for Sasuke Retsuden and I'm glad to know that their general mentality hasn't changed😑 Discovering your blog has been a real breath of fresh air for me among this sea of ​​bullshit that exists in the Fandom.

Like, I know I have no right to judge their expeditions because they do what they want but when I was still reading fanfics written about this couple (something I very quickly gave up because of…lots of things)

with insinuating CANNON COMPLIANT tags or even meta-analysis of what the ship could have been if it existed and how it would have been better for them and blablabla, I ended up wondering if they even really love Hinata for what she IS canonically or for their own fantasized vision of her?! (and that goes for Sakura and Sasuke too, which I sometimes wonder if their fans even understand their characters)

but hey…I guess given the fandom we're in, that shouldn't even surprise me anymore…

The RTN characters opposites to their regular selves personality wise, not sexuality wise. Hence, none of the other canonically straight characters were depicted as gay in RTN. But Sasuke who was canonically shown to ignore the advances of all the girls was depicted as a ladies man, Hinata who was canonically shown to be very shy and introverted was depicted as loud and brash etc.
