I have yet to find a Rhaenicent who genuinely likes both Rhaenyra and Alicent.

They’re either an Alicent fan who absolutely hates Rhaenyra but are stuck with her because there’s no one else you can ship their fave with.

Or a Rhaenyra fan who doesn’t care about Alicent as a character, they want her to be nothing more than an obedient dog who happily kills her sons for Rhaenyra.

I kid you not, I once saw rhaenicents on tiktok (I think??) talking about how all rhaenicents hate rhaenyra and love alicent, and one of them straight up said "hating rhaenyra is a rule for shipping rhaenicent" I've always kind of thought that you can't really ship a ship if you hate a character in it but I mean this is absurd. If they love Alicent so much then why do they want her to be with a character they hate? No logic tbh.

The way HOTD both show and mainstream fandom has treated rape and/or sexual assault for a show that considers itself so progressively high and mighty is an absolutely concerning laughingstock btw. Alicent cannot even have an inkling that Viserys was an abusive fuckward despite it literally being shown on screen. Alicent the teenager is actually seen as a harlot for ‘SeDuCiNg’ the Literal Actual King by reading him a book. Criston is reduced to an incel in response to the girl who knew he was sworn to chastity and got excited when he said no to her. Mysaria (and apparantly the show writers) is completely aokay with being kissed by Rhaenyra who did something v similar to criston straight after she tells a very graphic, completely irrelevent and not even book canon or book implied story about her father who raped and impregnated her. This is seen as a completely aokay sapphic ship. Even after realising she can’t trust the man who groomed her Rhaenyra (and the show writers) have Daemon willingly (????) serving Rhaenyra and Rhaenyra accepting him. Both fandom and writers are the equivalent of fucking wattpad writers.

It's beyond me to see so many queer people excited about the kiss between Rhaenyra and Mysaria. Like...why ? Is this the kind of representation you like ? A kiss that came out of nowhere and probably won't go anywhere because it wasn't even in the script originally ? I love people who say that we romanticize and pedestal a groomer by talking about Daemon in relation to the fact that we ship Daemyra instead of Rhaenicent or Rhaesaria.

Basically ship Rhaenyra with two of the women who canonically ruined her life in Fire and Blood and who in HOTD, sorry Alicent isn't better and Mysaria... damn where did that shit even come from.

Because apparently it's more moral to ship Rhaenyra with her canonical abuser (Alicent) in HOTD and F&B, or to ship her in a relationship that makes no narrative sense in HOTD, Mysaria therefore, and which in Fire and Blold goes literally taking advantage of Rhaenyra's paranoia to do shit and make a mess of our queen's life.

Rather than with Daemon, her husband whom she loves and who is a healthy relationship in F&B, but somewhat problematic in HOTD, but not because of the character itself of Daemon with Rhaenyra, but because the writers love to write scenes abuse that comes out of nowhere too !

Why am I writing this ? I came across an indecent number of Rhaenicent fanarts and edits, not to mention the related posts which say again and again that Daemon is a groomer (HOTD or F&B) without obviously understanding the definition... My brain is bursting with force.

No hatred towards the artists and content creators for the edits because they have incredible talent. Simply, I need to express my incomprehension in the face of so much success in terms of shipping and especially the comments made on these ships.

The fact of making Jaskier in The Witcher also like men for a plot that serves no purpose ? It doesn't seem to me from what I remember that he also likes men in the books, however I remember that Ciri was on the other hand bisexual ?

So once again, why make a character who isn't queer in the books a character who is queer in the adaptation when you just have to adapt the ones who are queer ?!

Not people (a man coincidentally) who still say that the Reylo kiss came completely out of nowhere and was rushed. WTF ? What kind of interactions have you watched between Rey & Kylo Ren / Ben Solo since the beginning ? Have you also missed all the classic codes of enemy-to-love romance in fiction ? Frankly, Reylo is a textbook romance. And when I see people whose job it is to criticize / analyze fiction who are surprised by Reylo, that tells me everything I need to know about their so-called skills. Especially if on the other hand it praises House of the Dragon... Really, two things that tell me everything I need to know about their so-called analytical skills. It's 2024 ! How can people still say that it came out of nowhere? And for once, Reylo came in a video which first talked about the case of Rhaenyra & Mysaria's kiss ! A sort of mix of all the kisses out of nowhere that panicked the web with more recently this one where the guy agreed that it came out of nowhere even if there were a few exchanges between the characters which probably leads a little to that while... find out man it was confirmed as being improvisation by Emma D'Arcy. The previous interactions between these two characters were not at all supposed to lead to a kiss. But it doesn't surprise me that he's trying to drown it out since once again he mostly loves HOTD and finds it overall very well written. The joke... You can't compare these two kisses. Reylo has always been the heart of the story. Yes, in episode 7, JJ Abrams was unsure about the nature of Reylo's relationship which he thought could have been romantic or brotherly, but with episode 8 and Ryan Johnson, Reylo's romantic nature was confirmed between the two characters. So since 7 there was this romantic tension then confirmed in 8. Reylo doesn't come out of nowhere, you have to stop the bullshit after a while. I still see some who make fun of the scene of Kylo shirtless while still not understanding what the hell is going on there and once again that tells me everything I need to know about the analytical skills of these people. You don't actually know the codes of fiction. Or perhaps you are simply not interested in the codes of romance, although it is also a classic of fiction, and there too it tells me a lot of things about these people.

Ryan Condal is the last person to care about queer representation or he wouldn’t have cut off actual queer characters (Sabitha Frey, Alysanne Blackwood), Rhaesaria was mainly for shock value and to test the waters and all it did was get the lowest ranking. They’re bold to think that relationship is ever developing, Rhaenyra and Mysaria will carry on as if nothing ever happen.

I found this on a pro Rhaesaria / anti Daemyra post. Dying of laughter. Because so far I have only seen logical arguments for not liking this stupid Rhaesaria ship devoid of meaning, of coherence, essentially coming out of nowhere and which will go nowhere after the unscripted kiss.

HOTD is misogynistic in its writing of female (and also male) characters, reducing them to the same role of wise and anti-war figure in the face of men who are generally violent and eager for this same violence through war. Not to mention the addition of violent scenes against women that did not exist in the source material, when they already suffer quite horrible things in the latter.

Not to mention making already existing violent scenes worse by transforming them to make them worse than originally. All this for sensationalism and shock to the spectator.

But most people prefer to say that those who point out these facts are the real misogynists under the pretext of defending the character of Daemon Targaryen who undergoes horrible treatment in HOTD, in particular by highlighting the OCC strangling scene that these people always bring out to prove that he is the enemy to be defeated when this typically ties in with what I said above.

Daemon was never physically violent towards Rhaenyra in Fire and Blood. But it was in HOTD because the men are supposed to be violent figures in this version. This is despite the fact that nothing in Daemon's characterization in HOTD from 1x01 to 1x08 suggested that he was capable of such a thing towards the people he loved. But what is consistency for in HOTD after all ?

Without forgetting that this obviously contributes to worsening violence against women, including here Rhaenyra, by making her suffer violence that she never suffered in the original canon of Fire and Blood, even though she is suffering from it. enough in the book. No need to add this type of violence.

Especially since once again, this type of scene is not there to tell anything, but simply to shock the viewer. Nothing more.

And a little free dig, I doubt that the members of the TB stans make more misogynistic remarks than the TG stans. Let's stop messing around.

Again, generally the conversations revolve once again around the mediocrity of Rhaesaria in terms of writing and consistency with what HOTD has so far told and in relation to the source material which Ryan Condal still does not understand if he thinks for a single second that Mysaria is sincere with Rhaenyra...

The fact is that yes, I don't doubt that this kind of bullshit exists to be anti Rhaesaria, but clearly, that is not the majority of the reason for the hatred of this stupid ship from what I have observed.

I also think that all these accusations are the super easy and free card to throw against someone who doesn't like a queer ship, whether it is poorly written like in the case of Rhaesaria, or not with others or simply the feeling and energy of shipping does not work. People need to calm down.
