I have yet to find a Rhaenicent who genuinely likes both Rhaenyra and Alicent.

They’re either an Alicent fan who absolutely hates Rhaenyra but are stuck with her because there’s no one else you can ship their fave with.

Or a Rhaenyra fan who doesn’t care about Alicent as a character, they want her to be nothing more than an obedient dog who happily kills her sons for Rhaenyra.

I'm impressed you've managed to find one single Rhaenicent who likes Rhaenyra. I've only seen alicent fans like Rhaenicent, and also you're right, they ship rhaenicent because they have no one else to ship alicent with. Because everyone hates Cole.

I kid you not, I once saw rhaenicents on tiktok (I think??) talking about how all rhaenicents hate rhaenyra and love alicent, and one of them straight up said "hating rhaenyra is a rule for shipping rhaenicent" I've always kind of thought that you can't really ship a ship if you hate a character in it but I mean this is absurd. If they love Alicent so much then why do they want her to be with a character they hate? No logic tbh.

I have also always thought that part of why this fandom like Rhaenicent so much is because they're desperate for wlw ship, and that's why everyone flocked to Rhaesaria (PLEASE I'M BEGGING FOR SOMEONE TO BELIEVE ME THAT RHAESARIA AND RHAENICENT ARE JUST QUEER BAITING DIRTY DISH WATER) but like here's the thing, if you want wlw ships, why are you accepting this slop??? Demand a better written one, with characters who aren't married wives and mothers. Especially because Daemyra is a love match! Rhaesaria and rhaenicent don't even technically exist, and the show literally just forgot about Laenyra (although I more saw them as sisters but I know plenty of people don't)

Rant coming your way but It never ceases to amaze how writers do their absolute best at keeping a MARRIED couple away from each other at every opportunity. You think I don't know having more than 1 scene a season and few words changed + some bonus glances with each other between 2 characters that have children but no let's put all our stock into pointless relationships with no foundation to them whatsoever like Alicole and Rhaesaria. I love terrible writing when I see it! 👍 we were absolutely robbed of Daemyra,Halaegon and Jacaela this season. These writers are absolutely awful.

This season should have been Aegon and Helaena's season where it finally makes up for the lack of personal attention between their dynamic & relationships with their children. For fuck sake blood and cheese happened but we get NOTHING out of it. Their child died and we see their different reactions alone, away from each other. We needed them together, we needed them interacting. Did they even talk at all in season 1? We only see them talking ABOUT each other in that season instead of directly which sucks. I feel so deprived of what could've been if they had writers that gaf about them. Helaemond got the proper angst from that 1 scene, you know the one kiddies 😏. What did we actually get with Helaegon? This show has done nothing but fail them, their relationship and how to properly portray it in goddamn every way.

The story was right there. Forced arranged failmarriage between 2 siblings that loathe the idea of being married together, not because they hate each other but just don't see the rationale of it. The angst and despair of putting countless babies in your sibling & carrying them for your other. Why can't I have nice things? Why can't the universe throw me a fucking bone? I'm just here to suffer, season 2 gave no hope or motivation to slightly invest in the mess I know season 3 will be. Incompetent writing after Incompetent writing. At some time you do have to switch your brain off to remotely get a sense of satisfaction from a scene here and there but the real happiness doesn't even come from the Canon or in show. The headcanons,meta and fanfiction serve a better meal than the disgusting slop ryan faildal and sara hiss bring us 🤦‍♂️

We could have had Cregan x Jace, or heck, even Aeron x Davos, both pairs who had insane chemistry despite less than 5 minutes of screentime together.

But no, instead we got Rhaenyra x Mysaria, despite them having zero chemistry, zero reasons to have a relationship, and zero lead up to their make out session. 🤷🏼‍♀️

The whole Rhaenyra and Mysaria thing is unnecessary and forced but at least it's consistent with show Rhaenyra's character—she's a cheating whore. Regardless how I feel about show Daemon, he never cheated on Rhaenyra. It's just baffling how some people don't see it as cheating because Mysaria and Rhaenyra are both women and Daemon’s away after his and Rhaenyra’s argument. Cheating is cheating.

The way HOTD both show and mainstream fandom has treated rape and/or sexual assault for a show that considers itself so progressively high and mighty is an absolutely concerning laughingstock btw. Alicent cannot even have an inkling that Viserys was an abusive fuckward despite it literally being shown on screen. Alicent the teenager is actually seen as a harlot for ‘SeDuCiNg’ the Literal Actual King by reading him a book. Criston is reduced to an incel in response to the girl who knew he was sworn to chastity and got excited when he said no to her. Mysaria (and apparantly the show writers) is completely aokay with being kissed by Rhaenyra who did something v similar to criston straight after she tells a very graphic, completely irrelevent and not even book canon or book implied story about her father who raped and impregnated her. This is seen as a completely aokay sapphic ship. Even after realising she can’t trust the man who groomed her Rhaenyra (and the show writers) have Daemon willingly (????) serving Rhaenyra and Rhaenyra accepting him. Both fandom and writers are the equivalent of fucking wattpad writers.

Yes, shipping Rhaenyra with two of the women who ruined her life is the pinnacle of healthy relationships, rather than 'with the man (Daemon therefore) that she always loved, her husband, with whom she had a loving and passionate relationship, with whom she formed a powerful couple, and who, contrary to popular thinking, did not never mentally or physically abused.

And even in HOTD, beyond the unfortunately OCC choking scene, canon in the universe of the show, you're not going to make me believe that Rhaenicent is holier than Daemyra ?

Alicent actively made Rhaenyra and her children's lives hell for 10 years, threatening their lives !

In terms of toxicity, since both are in the show, Rhaenicent beats Daemyra hands down.

And for Rhaesaria, once again, this relationship has no basis, no foundation, no coherence / meaning, it literally comes out of nowhere, and probably won't go anywhere either.

And sorry, but in terms of consistency Daemyra (despite having undergone numerous massacre attempts by the writers) is still more coherent than this stupid ship that is Rhaesaria.

And then, it's going to be really ironic if Mysaria ends up following the path of her book counterpart at the end...

What did you think of people saying Mysaria would be a new parental figure for Jace? I thought people were joking but apparently some were serious 😭 I got called lesbophobic because I said that would never make sense, he would never see her as such, Laenor, Harwin and Daemon were with him from his childhood, you can see traces of each of them in Jace's personality and all three loved him, Mysaria is a complete stranger why the fuck would he consider her a parental or material figure even if Rhaenyra were hypothetically to get with her romantically. It's crazy people expect Jace to see Mysaria as a parental figure when she came into his life at 16-17 and in the middle of a war. You're right. Laenor, Harwin, and Daemon were in his life from childhood so he sees them as parents. Mysaria is literally just a person to him. He'd never see her as a parent, he would actually probably dislike her because he likes Daemon and Rhaenyra straight up cheated on him. And Jace is probably as tired of his mom's toxic yuri stories as we are. Why are people always using Jace as a canvas for their ships? He's an actual character in his own right. Thanks for the ask
